Christmas Has Arrived at Harry Potter World, and It'll Bring Tears to Your Damn Eyes

Nothing says "Happy Christmas" like a Harry Potter marathon - or a trip to Hogwarts itself. This year, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is celebrating the holidays like never before, with seasonal decorations, special merchandise, and even a nighttime projection show on the castle.

Running Nov. 24, 2017 through Jan. 7, 2018, the "Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" experience is spreading through both the Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley sections of the park.

"The quaint town of Hogsmeade village shines brightly with decor uniquely themed to each of the individual storefronts," says Universal. "As night falls on Hogsmeade village, the 'Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle' will illuminate Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with colorful imagery and impressive dimensional animations that dance across Hogwarts castle in tandem to a musical arrangement from the Harry Potter movies."

Park-goers can also stop by to watch the a cappella Frog Choir, which will be performing new seasonal songs. There will even be holiday-themed food, and of course, you have to stop by the Three Broomsticks or the Leaky Cauldron for a cup of warm Butterbeer.

The festivities have already begun so, naturally, fans have been sharing Instagram photos that will make you wish you could Apparate to Harry Potter World right this very minute. Read on to see pictures!

This Gender Reveal Photo Shoot Is What Disney Dreams Are Made Of

For soon-to-be parents Megan and Ryan, one of their first real loves was Disney. After getting married, the fun-loving couple even opted for their photographer to capture a playful honeymoon shoot at Epcot. When the pair found out that they were expecting, it almost felt fateful that their beloved wedding photographer already had a trip planned to Florida and they immediately knew that they wanted to plan a gender reveal session at Disney World.

The only problem with this exciting idea was that at Megan's most recent doctor's appointment, the doctor was unable to say the baby's gender with complete certainty. Although he suspected it was a girl, Megan wouldn't be able to find out for sure until the day after Dawn Browne's, of Degrees North Images, flight back to Texas.

To play it safe, they decided to take photos with both baby boy and girl props in order to be prepared for either gender. They spent the afternoon at Disney's boardwalk so they could have room away from all of the pedestrians while still taking advantage of colorful backdrops. When it was confirmed that the expecting parents were having a baby girl, nobody was more thrilled than Ryan! "Our dad to be was so excited (he would only take pictures with the little girl shoes)," Browne told POPSUGAR. "Now we are all looking forward to future photo shoots with the newest Disney princess!"

This Hysterical Twerking Santa Toy Is Breaking the Internet With His Dance Moves

Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like I found the real inspiration behind Sir Mix-A-Lot's smash hit "Baby Got Back." The rapper wasn't talking about "one of those rap guys' girlfriends" - he was actually secretly referring to this twerking Santa Claus toy, which just might be the most unexpected yet hysterical holiday product we've ever laid eyes on.

The LOL-worthy Santa figure uses battery power to shake his booty up and down while singing along to various tunes. Though the twerking toy would definitely be the perfect gag gift for any friend or relative, we're personally inclined to snag one for ourselves to add a humorous touch to our Christmas decoration lineup.

If you're in favor of changing the famous lyrics of "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" to "Twerkin' Around the Christmas Tree," you can score your very own booty-shakin' Santa toy from retailers like Amazon or Walmart. See below for a gloriously necessary sneak peek at what the Santa's mesmerizing dance moves look like in real life, and try to resist cracking a smile.

Outlander's Season 4 Teaser Hints at Claire and Jamie's "American Dream"

In addition to that Geillis Duncan situation, we see Claire and Jamie survive an epic hurricane. Immediately following the episode, a teaser trailer for the hit Starz adaptation was released, which hints at Claire and Jamie's new American dream. The brief glimpse into season four shows the reunited pair deciding whether or not they'll be able to make it in America, which follows the story in Diana Gabaldon's fourth novel in the time-traveling series, Drums of Autumn. A concrete release date has yet to be unveiled, but the teaser does confirm that Outlander will return sometime in 2018!

18 Grey's Anatomy Gift Ideas Specifically to Give to Your "Person"

There's a reason Grey's Anatomy has kept its fans pulled in for more than 13 seasons. Part of it is the fact that the show just seems to get it. With so many years on the air and such a dedicated fandom, why not spend this holiday season recognizing the die-hard "person" in your life? Scrub in, everyone.

15 Quotes From The Office's Christmas Episodes to Use This Holiday Season

Some TV shows just know how to do the holidays right. Though it's been off the air for years now, we'll always treasure The Office's Christmas episodes, especially the ones from when Steve Carell was still on the show. The Dunder Mifflin crew always celebrated with tinsel, vodka (looking at you, Meredith), and plenty of awkward moments. In honor of those classic episodes, here are the quotes you can still use this holiday season!

Revisit Adam Sandler's Chanukah Song, Because It's the Greatest Part of the Holiday Season

Back when Adam Sandler was kind of an up-and-comer, one of his first claims to fame was the holiday song "The Chanukah Song," giving a festive jam to the Jewish holiday. Sandler has never turned his back on the song, updating it periodically, and we're revisiting the 2015 version. This time, stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Adam Levine, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt all made the list, along with some fictional characters like Harry Potter and Olaf. Guess what? Still fun to hear Sandler belt the names out after all these years.

10 Movie Santas That You Totally Forgot About

When Santa comes to mind, you may envision him stationed in the North Pole or atop a sleigh, but good ol' Saint Nick also spends a lot of time in front of the camera. Check out other actors that have dressed - and sometimes decided to go shirtless - as the beloved holiday figure.

24 Movies That Turned 20 Years Old This Year

Now that 2017 has (thankfully) almost come to an end, it's time to reminisce. But instead of reminiscing on this garbage year, let's go back to the '90s, when everything was way more fun and carefree. In 1997, a surprising amount of iconic films came out. Remember all of Brendan Fraser's shirtless glory in George of the Jungle? One of Robin Williams's most memorable roles in Good Will Hunting? All that heartbreak from Titanic? All of that definitely turned 20 this year. And that's just the tip of the iceberg . . . pun intended.

Winter Reading List: 47 Books to Curl Up With Before They're Movies

There's nothing more hygge than grabbing a good book and reading in front of a roaring fire during this cold weather - but you need tools for that. There are some excellent books being made into movies and TV shows next year, and we have a big, handy list of all the books that are in the process of being adapted. Some hot recent titles like The Hate U Give are in here, along with titles from authors of other successful adaptations, like Big Little Lies' Liane Moriarty.

Introducing the Exciting New Characters From Big Little Lies Season 2

Have you sufficiently recovered from the news that HBO has renewed Big Little Lies? Good, because we've got a lot to go over. In addition to announcing the second season of the explosive mini series (which I guess is just a regular series now), we've also been blessed with a handful of exciting details about the next installment. Chief among them is a special announcement, courtesy of Vulture: four new characters are joining the show. So once you've finished sopping up the returning cast, let's go over the new faces that will emerge.

  • Michael Perkins: A new second-grade teacher at Otter Bay Elementary School who wants to cultivate global and social consciousness in his young students. Renata (Laura Dern) becomes furious when Mr. Perkins's lessons on global warming cause Amabella to have a panic attack.
  • A new employee in the school administration office: This woman befriends Jane (Shailene Woodley), and the two women eventually learn about each other's "deepest secrets."
  • Bonnie's parents, Elizabeth and Martin Howard: Elizabeth is described as someone who has passed on her outwardly zen qualities to her daughter Bonnie (Zoë Kravitz), but ultimately reveals herself to be controlling and abusive. Martin is emotionally distant toward his daughter, but a family emergency forces him to address the strain between them.

Tragically, Big Little Lies won't premiere until sometime in 2019. I guess that means we have plenty of time to figure out what tumultuous storylines lie ahead.

14 Books Becoming Movies in 2018

All the Marvel Characters Who Are For SURE in Avengers: Infinity War

This week, the internet promptly descended into chaos when Marvel dropped the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War. While there are plenty of details to parse out from the 2-minute teaser, there's also a fun game to play: how many Marvel characters can you count before the screen smashes to black? In 2016, the writers revealed that there are up to 67 "available" characters that have appeared in prior Marvel movies, and that's not even counting the new characters they might introduce. While the writers said not all of these heroes will appear, it's still safe to assume the number will be very large. Here's who we spotted in just the first trailer alone.

The Actor Playing Young Simba in The Lion King Reboot Blew NBA Fans Away With His Voice

Disney's live-action reboot of The Lion King doesn't come out until 2019, but the actor playing young Simba has already blown us away. While stopping by a Clippers NBA game in Los Angeles, 10-year-old JD McCrary - who's popped up in Teachers and K.C. Undercover - was called down to the floor during halftime to take part in a "Finish the Lyrics" game. Clearly no one was expecting him to slay "Who's Lovin' You" the way he did, because the stunned reactions of fans watching him belt it out at the Staples Center are pretty priceless.

Meet the First Female Figure Skater to Compete Internationally Wearing a Headscarf

Source: Getty / Tom Dulat

Zahra Lari has been ice skating for 10 years, but she's not just any talented figure skater on the rink: she's the first woman to compete internationally wearing a headscarf. Zahra, 22, is from the United Arab Emirates and could help the nation become the first Arab state to join the International Skating Union.

"I began skating when I was 12 years old, after watching the Disney movie Ice Princess," Lari told CNN. Most of us remember that movie as the 2005 classic coming-of-age story starring Michelle Trachtenberg and Hayden Panettiere. For Zahra, it's what inspired her to dream big. "My father felt that it went too much against our normal traditions and culture for a girl to compete in sports," Zahra also told CNN. So she didn't always think she'd make the decision to skate competitively. But after recognizing her passion, Zahra's father granted permission, and now he's her "biggest supporter."

Zahra has found a way to honor her traditions while still pursuing her passion. During competitions, Zahra chooses to wear leggings, opaque materials rather than sheer ones, and a headscarf - and she looks gorgeous in her color-coordinated outfits.

An inspirational young woman indeed, Zahra has also graced the cover of Women's Health Middle East and was featured in Nike's Middle Eastern campaign "What Will They Say About You?" Her current goal isn't just to become the first person to represent the UAE at a Winter Olympics. She also wants to make it to competitions like the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships and the World Championships. We have a feeling Zahra's going to continue breaking boundaries in the ice skating industry for years to come!

Want to Get Fit in 2018? This Trainer Lays Out the Perfect Beginner Plan

During this time of year, there is no shortage of tips and advice for getting fit and healthy. Although we're indulging in all the goodness that comes with the holidays (hello, eggnog and pumpkin pie), we can't help but think about the New Year's resolutions that are just around the corner.

The mistake that many people make with their resolutions, though, is that they don't give themselves specific ways to actually achieve these goals. But if you're looking to get fit and feel strong next year, you're in luck. Ridge Davis, personal trainer in West Hollywood, CA, has designed a plan for you to shape up and feel amazing in the gym, no matter what your fitness level may be!

Follow these four instructions from Ridge, and you'll be crushing your goals in no time.

Aim to Do Your Workouts Before 8 a.m.

"I highly suggest my clients perform their workouts and/or cardio before 8 a.m. if possible," Ridge told POPSUGAR. "Doing it first thing in the morning subconsciously makes one's health a priority and builds a habit toward a healthier lifestyle."

"I highly suggest my clients perform their workouts and/or cardio before 8 a.m. if possible."

If you're going to make one New Year's resolutions this year, Ridge strongly recommends committing to waking up 30 minutes earlier every day. This gives you the chance to accomplish so much more, from drinking a tall glass of water to squeezing in a workout before you head to work.

Working out in the morning also causes your metabolism to spike, so your body "has more time available in the day to burn fat," according to Ridge. All the endorphins you generate from sweating it out "give you great energy to start the day" as well. If you lock in this habit early on, you'll see your fitness level increase on a daily basis.

Do Less Cardio, Lift More Weights

Step off the treadmill and get going in the weight room if you want to build lean muscle and see your strength skyrocket. Ridge says he works on "moderately heavy weight with short rest periods" with his female clients who want to get lean and fit.

"The focus is to properly build your glutes and hamstrings, as this will enhance your shape on a physiological level and keep you burning fat on a metabolic level," he said. Although we like the idea of how booty gains look on our figures, it's about so much more than how voluptuous your butt gets. Your glutes are the biggest and strongest muscles in the body, so if you train them properly with weightlifting, you'll maximize your fat-burning abilities and get fitter much faster.

Incorporate These 7 Different Movement Patterns

According to Ridge, beginners "have a tendency to overtrain by working out every day with little to no rest."

"Many beginners have a tendency to exclusively use machines when working out because they feel it is safe and easy," Ridge said. "My biggest suggestion for beginners is to engage with all of their body's movement patterns and explore more free-weight and bodyweight movement exercises."

These are the seven movement patterns Ridge highly recommends working on:

Ridge says you should perform each movement pattern for 12-15 reps for three sets. You don't have to do all of these every time you strength train; feel free to break them up into separate sessions, maybe doing the lower-body moves one day and the upper-body moves another day.

Don't Work Out Every Single Day

"A typical workout frequency for my beginner clients is three 45-minute sessions per week and one hour of cardio on the weekend."

According to Ridge, beginners "have a tendency to overtrain by working out everyday with little to no rest." As good as their intention may be, their bodies simply aren't ready for this many workouts in a row. The result? "This mismanagement of rest can lead to getting sick or injured, and this will you put you out of the gym even longer than just putting in that one day of resting!"

"A typical workout frequency for my beginner clients is three 45-minute sessions per week and one hour of cardio on the weekend," Ridge explained. "Rest is just as important, so I suggest having one day rest between workouts." Here's what a typical week of workouts should look like:

  • Monday: Train
  • Tuesday: Rest
  • Wednesday: Train
  • Thursday: Rest
  • Friday: Train
  • Saturday: Cardio
  • Sunday: Rest

Above all else, make sure you're giving your body enough rest, plenty of sleep, and a whole lot of good food. You can't expect to improve your fitness level if you aren't taking care of yourself on a holistic level. Try to have fun with it and enjoy the process!

Emily Naturally Dropped 138 Pounds Without Any Gimmicky Diets or Exercise Plans

A fateful doctor's appointment on July 1, 2015, provided Emily Amerson with the necessary nudge she needed to finally ditch excuses and lose some weight for good. At 301 pounds, Emily was struggling with lupus and thyroid autoimmunity, and she was having gallbladder attacks every week. "My body hurt constantly, the medications weren't working, my blood tests were getting worse, and my weight was out of control," she told POPSUGAR.

After reviewing test results with her doctor, Emily asked her what the next steps should be to get back on track with her health. Emily's doctor was honestly at a loss for words. "She literally looked at me, shrugged her shoulders, and shook her head. She had no idea what else to do," Emily recalled.

While driving home from the appointment, Emily tearfully thought about how she would care for her then-2-year-old daughter by the time she got to kindergarten. And that's when she was struck with a divine inspiration of sorts. "It sounds crazy, but right then, with tears on my face, I felt so strongly my God, or my higher power, tell me, 'I intended you to be well - let me show you how,'" she told us. "I don't know how to explain it except that it was so real, so powerful, and so undeniable, I dried my face right then, put down my self-pity, and immediately walked into this process."

"If there was something processed and packaged that I wanted, I figured out how to make the real food version of it."

The first step of Emily's incredible 138-pound weight-loss journey? Completely revamping her dietary habits. The mother of one started by eating "real, whole, local food" instead of processed goods. "If there was something processed and packaged that I wanted, I figured out how to make the real food version of it," she told POPSUGAR before explaining how she once made homemade, organic corn tortilla chips from scratch when a sudden Mexican food craving struck. She later completely cut out processed sugar because "it had an extremely addictive response in [her] body."

After one year of simply eating cleaner, Emily dropped an impressive 50 pounds. Ready to take her weight loss to the next level, she joined Life Time gym in the Summer of 2016. Though Emily admitted that she didn't stick to one specific workout or routine in order to step up her weight loss, she did immediately dive into the gym's 60-Day Challenge program, which inspired her to try various group fitness classes and attend educational classes to learn more about nutrition. Emily noted how joining a gym where she could experiment with exercising was truly a vital component of her journey, second only to clean eating.

"An awesome gym, like mine at Life Time, can serve to motivate you and build strength, metabolism, and perseverance. It can provide encouragement to keep going, accountability, support, knowledge, and a community or like-minded fellows," she said.

"I mix it up so I don't get bored, but the main thing I do 'right' is that I move each day mindfully and with loving intention."

Between Emily's newfound gym habit and her steadfast healthy eating patterns, she managed to drop even more weight, losing a total of 138 pounds since when she first began two years ago. Now at 163 pounds, Emily admits that her current weekly workout routine is "surprisingly unimpressive."

"I've never been the person in the gym doing the awesome workouts - you know, the ones with fire in their eyes in beast mode grunting and leaping over things. Yeah, that's not me," she joked. "But what my routine is is consistent." Emily said she changes things up each day, sometimes training hard with weights and sometimes taking it easy with light cardio or yoga. "I mix it up so I don't get bored, but the main thing I do 'right' is that I move each day mindfully and with loving intention."

"I used to hate vegetables and now I absolutely LOVE my veggies! I actually get real cravings for vegetables now."

As for her diet these days, she still sticks to real, whole food, mostly eating fresh, seasonal produce and locally grown organic foods. "I used to hate vegetables and now I absolutely LOVE my veggies! I actually get real cravings for vegetables now." (Trust us - we were pretty shocked by this tidbit, too!) Emily added, "If you had known the old me, you would know how crazy that sentence is, but it's true and amazing how our taste buds and brain biochemistry change as we take out the processed junk food over time."

All in all, Emily has naturally dropped 138 pounds and went from a size 26 to 4 in pants. To date, she has participated in five of Life Time's 60-Day Challenges, and she actually won the most recent challenge in the "women's weight loss" category, beating out thousands of other competitors. Impressive stuff!

We asked Emily for any helpful tips or advice for others looking to similarly change their bodies, and she provided us with plenty of great suggestions. For one, she advised getting a food scale to properly measure food and keep those portions in check. She also mentioned taking progress pictures to document every step of your weight-loss journey, adding, "It's hard to do at first, but you'll be glad you did."

Another unique tidbit she offered was to keep a daily journal, which Emily used to track her food plans, record her exercises, and document her thoughts each day. "I journal first thing in the morning to get my heart and intentions right before I start my day," she said. After especially hard days, Emily does some nighttime journal writing as well to reflect on the positive parts of her day, what she could've done better, and what she's thankful for. "Getting those things organized on paper stops me from trying to eat the feelings of what is actually eating me up," she explained. "Regardless of what happens with my food, this writing is probably my very best tool because it keeps me present and honest with myself."

In addition to the physical changes Emily has undergone over the past two years, she's also had quite the drastic change in mindset regarding the notion of progress. "I have thrown out my old black-and-white thinking of all-or-nothing perfectionism. Now when I mess up with food, which I do, or any area of life, instead of beating myself up endlessly, I just pause and ask, 'What's the next right thing? What is the next right action I can take right now?'"

If You Don't Have These 3 "Ds" Right Now, You're in the Golden Years of Parenting

Recently, I've felt it coming. When I'm sitting with my kids after dinner, playing Hangman or listening as my 6-year-old daughter reads me books; when I take my son, who turns 4 in a couple of months, out to lunch and actually enjoy the experience; when we attend a party as a family and all leave relaxed and having enjoyed ourselves . . . I can feel the golden years of parenting upon me.

Every parent knows that there is a window of time when our children are old enough that the physical demands of raising them aren't as overwhelming, but they also aren't so old that they've decided we're no longer cool enough to spend time with. This weekend, a friend of mine gave the stage a name, which I found totally genius. "It's called the three 'Ds,'" she said. "No diapers, no dating, no driving - and it's the best."

I'm not totally in the three-"D" zone yet, still dealing with a kid who wears nighttime diapers and has to be coached to go number two on the potty, but within six months, I'm certain I'll be in that lucky stage, and even luckier - because I only have two kids, who are less than three years apart - I'll get to stay there for a good seven to eight years (at least I'm hoping it's that long until my daughter pushes me back into the parenting abyss by discovering that boys can be more than friends, then wrecks her father's sanity by getting a learner's permit).

Now that I'm aware of this relatively long, but limited, window when my kids and I will mutually enjoy one another and be on the same team (let's be honest: there have been a lot of days when it's felt like them vs. me during the early years of their lives, and most of the time, they've won), I plan to enjoy it as much as possible.

I want to take them on great, memorable trips, during which we start the day exploring and end it cuddling. I want to yell the loudest at their soccer games and spend time in their classrooms, observing how they interact with their peers and teachers. I want to make them laugh and be present when they're being silly or sad or thoughtful. I want to give them every kiss they ask for and wipe away every tear while they still let me.

I want to get to know each other, not just as kid and parent, but as human beings. Because just as quickly as the first six years of parenting them have gone, I'm certain the next will go even faster, and before I know it, I'll have a couple of teenagers locking me out of their rooms - when they're home at all.

Surely I'm not the only one who found the saddest part of Stranger Things 2 to be the scene when Dustin calls looking for Mike, and Mike's dad says, "Our children don't live here anymore. You didn't know that?" His (fictional) kids are 13 and 17, which simultaneously seems like a lifetime and a blink away for me. So I plan to soak up every minute of the three-"D" stage while it lasts, knowing it won't be nearly long enough.

Mom's Viral Video Hilariously Explains the Difference Between a Man Cold and a Mom Cold

Have you ever thought to yourself, "Wow, I handle a cold so much better than my boyfriend/husband/male friend?" You're not alone, and one mom made a hilarious video explaining the difference between a "man cold" and a "mom cold" based on her experience. Meredith, the mom behind the blog That's Inappropriate, posted the video back in 2016, and it quickly went viral - it's at 1 million views and counting - thanks to its spot-on humor.

In the video, Meredith and her husband both have a cold, but the two handle the situation vastly differently. Her husband is lying around in bed while she's taking care of laundry and dishes, looking after the kids, and checking on her husband every few minutes to bring him things he wants (including chicken noodle soup that needs an ice cube). Meredith plays up the exaggeration often associated with a "man cold." "I know that you feel like you're going to die, but you're not going to die," she says while holding a tissue to help with her own runny nose. "I can't lay down and pat your back. I have things I have to do."

We're not saying this is how every guy acts when he has a cold, but we bet you'll relate at least a little bit after you watch it! Prepare to laugh and nod your head as you watch the all-too-familiar scenario above.

Serena Williams Turned to Moms of the Internet For a Much-Needed Breastfeeding Pep Talk

When Serena Williams needed some reassurance about the emotional roller coaster that is breastfeeding, she turned to her Twitter followers for their words of wisdom. The tennis star gave birth to her precious baby daughter, Alexis Ohanian Jr., in September, and now that she's settled into newfound motherhood, it looks like she has some questions to get off her chest. Serena used Twitter to ask "fellow moms" of the internet to comment on two common issues all new mamas grapple with: "How long did you breastfeed?" and "Is it weird that I get emotional when I even just think about when it's time to stop?"

Hundreds of Serena's followers chimed in and responded with comforting reassurance that they, too, felt similar emotions while breastfeeding their children. Scroll through a handful of the heartwarming Twitter responses below in case you needed further proof that breastfeeding has the power to bring together moms everywhere.

10 Toxic Ingredients Pregnant Women Should Never Use in Their Beauty Routines

The average adult uses nine personal care products every day. If I think about my own beauty routine, it adds up to much more. In the shower alone I use a face wash, body wash, exfoliator, shampoo, and conditioner. Once I'm out, the lotions, face creams, sunscreen, perfume, hair products, and makeup come into play. I can't even seem to choose just one lip color, instead opting to blend a few to get the perfect shade.

It often takes the responsibility of growing another life for us to take a serious look at our personal care products.

Does that sound familiar? Unfortunately, there are potentially toxic chemicals hiding in our makeup, sunscreen, skincare products, and everything else we slather on. The risks associated with each are potentially more hazardous for pregnant women - which is why it often takes the responsibility of growing another life for us to take a serious look at our personal care products.

"We should avoid risky ingredients at all stages of our lives," said Paul Pestano, a senior database analyst for the Environmental Working Group, an organization that researches and educates consumers about toxins in personal care products. "However, pregnancy may be a period in which women should be particularly careful."

Pestano notes that the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine warn that exposure to toxic chemicals before conception and during pregnancy can have significant and long-lasting effects on reproductive health. Problems can include infertility, low birth weight, and preterm birth.

EWG suggests that pregnant women try to minimize their exposure to all ingredients that have been associated with adverse health effects, especially those known as endocrine disruptors. Endocrine disruptors can interfere with the body's normal hormone functions and potentially affect the development of the unborn child.

Luckily, there are quality brands out there making nontoxic cosmetics. As a pregnant woman myself, I find it's easier to make responsible choices if I understand the reasons behind each warning. So I decided to do some research into the cosmetic ingredients I should avoid. I spoke to Tata Harper, the founder of her own safe and natural skincare line, and Gregg Renfrew, the founder of Beautycounter, which bans more than 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals from its products.

If you're expecting, too, here is a list of the ingredients, where you're likely to find them, and an explanation of why they are potentially harmful. And don't worry, you won't have to go cosmetics-free for nine months - I also have some recommendations for safe options you can turn to.

9 Healing Products to Try After Getting Freshly Inked

The last thing you want to do after going through the entire process of getting a tattoo is ruin it with improper care. Gingerbread Latte Hair Is the Sweetest Way to Be Holiday Ready

One of the most exciting parts of the Winter season is running to Starbucks to get our hands on the holiday drinks. One of our favorites is the spicy gingerbread latte. Turns out, the festive drink also happens to be excellent hair color inspiration.

Starting with a deep coffee-hued base and adding highlights of warm copper, this brunette hair color is a gorgeous choice for the Winter season. The lighter hues are reminiscent of adding milk into your latte and seeing the different shades of brown that appear in your red holiday cup. The drink itself is delicious, so you can't blame us for getting excited about this beauty inspiration.

Gingerbread latte hair is a gorgeous look for brunette gals who want a subtle change without dipping their strands in bleach. If you're tempted to try this out for yourself (as you should be!), keep scrolling for some gorgeous inspiration photos to show your stylist.

Let Us Now Praise Meghan Markle's Natural, Curly Hair

Image Source: Getty / Chris Jackson

While we await the royal wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in May 2018, beauty girls are left dreaming of all the ways the actress could wear her always-gorgeous hair. While Meghan's go-to is a soft, straight blowout (much like her future sister-in-law, Kate Middleton), the Daily Mail dug up some old high school yearbook photos of Meghan that are making us hope that the soon-to-be royal will wear her naturally curly hair down the aisle.

Yup, back in 1998, the (likely) future duchess was known as Rachel Markle, a 17-year-old student at LA's (all-girls!) Immaculate Heart High. While the thought of the entire world seeing your junior year class picture might make you break out in hives, our girl was predictably working it with a fresh face and voluminous natural curls. And Twitter is LIVING FOR IT.

"We got curls in the royal palace y'all!!!" Twitter user Kamie Crawford wrote. "Starting a petition to get Meghan to wear a fresh wash & go around the palace." Where do we sign?

Safe to say, we're f*cking thrilled that the royal family will soon include a woman with beautiful, natural curls. We're crossing our fingers that Meghan reps them next Spring while walking down the aisle of St. George's Chapel, even if she's pretty much always seen in public with straight hair. Perhaps it's a long shot, but hey, so is marrying a prince.

Rihanna Explains Why She Won't Use Transgender Models as a "Convenient Marketing Tool"

Much has been said about the way Fenty Beauty celebrates diversity. One fan, however, questioned Rihanna about one type of representation that seemed to be missing from the brand.

Brazil-based Twitter user @ibertootero messaged the singer to tell her, "Fenty Beauty campaign is awesome, next time you should invite a trans girl to the group." In her response, she brilliantly shed light on a major problem with the beauty industry's idea of diverse casting.

"I've had the pleasure of working with many gifted trans women throughout the years, but I don't go around doing trans castings! Just like I don't do straight non trans women castings! I respect all women, and whether they're trans or not is none of my business!" she said.

"It's personal and some trans women are more comfortable being open about it than others, so I have to respect that as a woman myself!" she continued. "I don't think it's fair that a trans woman, or man, be used as a convenient marketing tool! Too often do I see companies doing this to trans and black women alike! There's always just that one spot in the campaign for the token 'we look mad diverse' girl/guy! It's sad!"

"I don't think it's fair that a trans woman, or man, be used as a convenient marketing tool."

While neither Rihanna nor Fenty Beauty has confirmed or reposted the exchange, there's reason to believe her response was real. Rihanna has a strong relationship with her fans (better known as her "navy"), and she's been known to comment and direct-message back.

If this is true, we have even more reason to praise Rihanna. While representation in all forms of media always matters, she's right about beauty companies jumping on casting black, Muslim, male, and transgender models and making their existence a marketing tool under the guise of empowerment. Diversity isn't a trend. It's a necessity - and it should be the standard.

The fact that Rihanna refuses to participate in being self-congratulatory about casting any one type of person is a testament to her mission of creating a new normal, where people aren't reduced to tokens. Consider it reason number 10,000 we love Fenty Beauty.

Gift This Two-Sided Disney Beauty Bag to the Sleeping Beauty OR Maleficent in Your Life

Some days, when you've got your Slip mask on and have to hit the snooze button approximately 12 times before you can even fathom getting out of bed, you're a Sleeping Beauty. Other times, you're a Maleficent - please no one talk to me when it's 3 p.m., I haven't had lunch yet, the Sweetgreen line is too long, and I'm the hangry-est girl you ever did see. So that's why this two-sided Disney beauty bag speaks to our soul - no matter your mood, you can rep the right character.

One half of this Sleeping Beauty & Maleficent Cosmetic Case ($39) features a sweetly sleepy Aurora. But, flip it over and you'll see Maleficent scheming with her raven hypeman Diaval.

Along with making a great gift for your friend who's known to switch emotions at the drop of a hat, this bag also totes a fancy backstory. It's part of the Disney Collection by Danielle Nicole, a line of accessories created by the quirky-chic designer.

This faux leather (meaning: vegan!) cosmetic carrier is adorned with glitter, and the characters are sewn on via embroidery. Plus it's got a little zipper compartment on the inside, which is perfect for stray makeup wipes.

Spooky or sweet, it's time you get yourself a bag that can do both.

Holographic Opal Lipstick Is Fit For a '90s-Fabulous Snow Bunny

By now, you've definitely unicorned-out your makeup routine. In such a saturated market, it's hard to see a fresh spin on what has since become a classic modern beauty staple. That being said, your eyes will be totally glued to opal lips, a unicorn-esque, holographic trend that's sweeping Instagram (and damn near perfect for Winter).

If Mariah Carey's iconic "All I Want For Christmas Is You" album art (AKA my phone's current wallpaper) was shot in 2017, I think that Mimi might have switched out her bold red for an opal lip. Take a look at the example above, as imagined by Jazmina Daniels. The cloud-like design is part '90s, part 2017, and full fabulous.

Whether you're glamming up for a holiday party or romping through the snow just #forthegram, this cold weather-appropriate look gives off major snow bunny vibes. So this Winter, go ahead and paint your pout with a frosty reflective lipstick such as Stila Color Balm in Opal ($22) or Kevyn Aucoin The Molten Opal Lip Color Top Coat ($30), practice a frosty stare, and achieve straight-up ice princess status.

These 3 New E.L.F. Brushes Are the Most Affordable Way to Do Holiday Glitter Makeup

Glitter eye makeup is a gift from above - as long as you're willing to forgive the havoc it wreaks on your makeup brushes. While getting ready for a holiday party is super fun, nothing spoils the high note in "All I Want For Christmas Is You" more than having to stop to clean your eyeliner tool before you can use it to apply glitter shadow. So, what's a unicorn to do? E.L.F. now has three solutions - and all cost less than your lunch.

The affordable line just dropped three silicone tools that are all meant for building the different facets of an eye look. First, there's the Smudge Brush, which you can use to blend your pencil liner into a precise, thick look. If gel's more your thing, then opt for the Angled Brush, which can also be used to fill in brows. And when it comes time to top off your peepers with glitter, there's a specific brush for that, too.

Since all applicators cost $3 (which rounds out to a very nice nine bucks for the entire trio), you can spend more on the makeup you'll use for all of your seasonal soirées. Read on to see all three tools.
