My Mom Was Latina, My Dad Isn't - 10 Annoying Comments I'm Tired of Hearing

As a multiracial woman with a Peruvian-born mom and a white American dad, I can say life can be a little bit complicated. Growing up, it definitely wasn't the "cool" thing to be multiracial, especially in small-town Oregon where I spent my high school years, so I didn't really start to embrace the Peruvian part of my identity until I got to college. And while I have always taken pride in being Latina - it certainly has come with some built-in perks, like being fluent in Spanish by preschool - the whole thing comes with its fair share of eye-roll-worthy moments. Cue that time customers at my high-school waitressing job assumed I didn't speak English because of the way I looked.

If this story sounds familiar, chances are this roundup of other annoying comments and struggles will be too. Keep scrolling for the most frustrating moments I've faced.

32 Jennifer Lopez Outfits That Were Meant to Be Seen From the Back

We all know that Jennifer Lopez is the queen of rocking naked dresses and ones that show off her legs, but what we love is when she wears a dress that leaves us staring from all angles - especially the back.

Who doesn't remember the dress she wore to the 2017 Billboard Latin Music Awards? Yes, it looked striking from the front, but the back was something else entirely. It was made up of just strings of fabric coming together to create shapes while still being totally see-through. We're telling you . . . Jennifer has a knack for keeping all eyes on her, but we certainly aren't mad about it.

Praise Be: 62 Brand-New Maybelline Products Are Coming to Drugstores in January

ICYMI: Maybelline has had a busy Fall. The drugstore brand has released a collection of Super Stay Un-Nudes liquid lipsticks, launched a new rose gold highlighter, and led a collaboration with none other than Ms. Gigi Hadid.

But there's been a catch to many of these Fall 2018 releases, and it's the huge caveat that many of these goodies are currently only available online. Of course, one of the huge draws of Maybelline is that it's a ubiquitous drugstore brand you can walk into any CVS or Walgreens and just pick up, no pesky shipping costs or wait time required. Luckily, the brand just announced that this newness will spread to brick-and-mortar stores come January 2018.

From a crazy-good mascara that smells like coconut (consider us sold already) to vampy lip kits and full-coverage foundation, there's something for every part of your face represented in this line. We're especially swooning over the City Kits, two $12 cheek and eye palettes that contain iridescent shades and plenty of rose gold to satisfy your obsession for the in-demand hue. There's also a moody collection of bullet lipsticks. Smoky Jade is a turquoise, and Concrete Jungle is an eye-catching gray that reminds us of the dusty hue we spotted on Gigi over the Summer.

Read on for every single product - yup, all 62 - you can get your hands on in January.

J.K. Rowling Completely Shuts Down Trump Rant With 1 Perfect Tweet

Image Source: Getty / Dan Kitwood

If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that President Donald Trump does not react well to pressure - despite the fact that being POTUS is, effectively, taking on the most stressful job in the world. So on Oct. 29, as the world prepared itself for the expected announcement of the first indictment in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, Trump did the most Trump-like thing imaginable: he tried to deflect public attention toward the former opponent whom he has not been in competition with for nearly a year.

Thankfully, Twitter hero and all-around superstar J.K. Rowling had the perfect response to what can only be read as a total and complete meltdown on behalf of our nation's leader.

On Oct. 30, the indictment was made public and it was announced that two men who played pivotal roles in the Trump campaign - Paul Manafort and Rick Gates - were charged with 12 counts, including conspiracy against the US. And it was revealed that a third individual, former Trump foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, had already pleaded guilty to making false statements.

In light of the fact that a mere announcement set off Trump in such a way, we can only imagine what will happen as these charges and the associated trials and public reporting unfold. Suffice it to say, we're going to see a whole lot more "calm confidence" in days to come - and we can only hope that Rowling will provide such spot-on commentary throughout.

6 Korean Eye Treatments That Completely Changed My Skin

Confession: supertired eyes have always been a huge insecurity of mine. I've had puffy bags under my peepers for my entire life, and they've followed me well into adulthood. I've purchased almost every de-puffing brightening stick and eye cream out there, until one day a beauty-addict friend of mine told me that I should check out a few Korean skin care stores. After about two hours of scanning Little Korea in NYC for eye treatments I walked out with a bag full of sheet masks and eye creams I couldn't wait to go home and plaster under my peepers.

To my surprise, nearly every treatment worked! Since my first purchase, I've stuck to only using a few Korean remedies. I've seen significant improvements - brighter, flatter skin under my eyes. While I still sometimes wake up with fish eyes, I now have go-to products that can give me an immediate fix. Keep reading to discover essential Korean eye treatments I swear by.

It's Been 5 Years Since the Sandy Hook Shooting, and Not Enough Has Changed

On Dec. 14, 2012, 20 first-graders and six educators lost their lives in a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. At the time, the shooting was the second deadliest to have occurred in America, behind the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting - and marked what seemed like a massive shift in the conversation about gun control. The loss of so many children at the hands of a shooter was so devastating that it brought then-President Barack Obama to tears, saying in a press conference, "I know there's not a parent in America who doesn't feel the same overwhelming grief that I do."

Immediately following what transpired at Sandy Hook, there was an urgency to fix the problem of gun control in America. A user-generated gun-control petition directed at the White House became the most popular, most supported measure. Obama presented a gun-control proposal to Congress to help solve the issue. And the NRA suggested putting armed police officers in every school.

Five years later, though, the issue of gun control remains largely the same, changed only in theory; Obama's gun-control measures were predominately blocked by Congress, and the NRA assures us that legislating guns won't stop mass shootings. The reality of post-Sandy Hook America is that not much has changed. In some ways, things have gotten more extreme, since a major shooting happens every two months and nearly 1,600 mass shootings have occurred since Dec. 14, 2012. The feeling of "never again," rightly put forth after the death of nearly two dozen elementary school children, seems to have only extended so far.

Yet, some changes have been made. They're mostly at the state level, since 49 percent of Americans now live in a state where expanded background checks for guns exist. Moreover, recent shootings in 2017 have motivated national efforts for background checks to be made. But, while this slow momentum toward change occurs, Congress has simultaneously worked on making the concealed carrying of guns easier. There is a deep feeling of two steps forward, one step back as it relates to fixing the problem of guns in America.

As the loss of lives from Sandy Hook weighs heavy on us today, the anniversary is a reminder that the problem is still at large. Sweeping reform may not ever come as easily as some may hope, and "thoughts and prayers" still dominate conversations. Regardless, the memory of these events looms large - and we'll continue to push toward change, however slow that change might be.

Helpful Ways to Stop a Panic Attack Right in Its Tracks

When a panic attack occurs, it feels like the world is ending. Or at least that yours is. If you've ever experienced a full-blown anxiety attack, you're probably willing to do almost anything to avoid another one and to stop one in its tracks when and if it does occur. There's no guaranteed method for ending a panic attack when it starts, but there are a few things that can really help stop one when it's happening to you. Everyone is different, so different things work for all us! The next time panic creeps in, try these tips for getting through it.

1. Breathe slowly in and out.

One of the first things that usually happens when a panic attack begins is feeling that you can't breathe. This may be because it feels like your throat is constricting (it isn't) or that you can't catch your breathe (you can). Concentrate on each breath in and out. Block out thoughts like "I can't breathe" or panicked feelings like you are going to die, and simply focus on the motion of your body as the air enters and exits. Sometimes it helps to have someone breathing with you; have them breathe slowly and match your breath with theirs. Continue doing this until you're able to feel like you can take a huge deep breath. This will remind you that you can, in fact, breathe just fine, and that you're going to be OK.

2. Distract yourself.

Once a panic attack begins, it's easy to focus on the impending terror that comes along with it. Sometimes it helps to do something that distracts you, because the more you focus on the horrible feeling, the worse it can become. Turn on an episode of your favorite TV show, or have a friend tell you a funny story or rattle off about their day or something trivial - just keep them talking and focus on their normalcy. They are OK, and you can be too.

3. Recognize that it's a panic attack.

Even though it's hard in the moment, try to objectively understand and recognize that despite the fact that you may be convinced you're having a heart attack or dying, this is actually a panic attack. When you're panicking, the adrenaline in your body can truly cause a physical reaction, but you're not in danger even though it feels that way. Try to remind yourself of this over and over again until the feeling of panic subsides.

4. Focus on your senses.

Much like in a dream when you want to wake up, focusing on your senses can help ground you during a panic attack. Pinch yourself, hug yourself, or go outside in cold air. Focus on the breeze touching your cheeks or the goosebumps on your arms. This will redirect your attention to another place so that you can focus on something neither good nor bad, just real and tangible.

5. Tell someone what's happening.

Sometimes when you're panicking, you may want to run away or isolate yourself. The problem with this is that it allows you to continue to get inside your head and can often allow the panic to grow. Try talking to someone you trust, and letting them know to some extent what is happening. In some cases, hearing yourself say, "I'm having a panic attack," out loud can be a helpful reminder in the moments that you are convinced you're dying that you are actually having an attack that you can and will control. Sometimes thinking this can make you more stressed out - so avoid that thought if it does!

6. Remind yourself that it will pass.

Panic attacks are horrible. They are all-consuming and they feel like they will never end. But they will end, and they do. If you're in the mindset and able to, try repeating the thought: this will pass. It will be better soon. Breathe through it and believe that you will make it out on the other end. You will!

This Easy Instagram Trick Will Make You Look Red Hot in All Your Selfies

In Case You're Wondering Whether the Big Death in Star Wars: The Last Jedi IS Actually a Death, Read This

WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS SOME VERY UPSETTING SPOILERS FOR STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI, SO GET OUT OF HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED!

When Star Wars: The Force Awakens picked off one of our favorite characters from the original trilogy - Han Solo - it made us brace for what might be waiting in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. On the one hand, we worried about Princess Leia's fate in the wake of Carrie Fisher's tragic 2016 death. But it wasn't her we needed to worry about: it was her brother, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).

The first trailers for the movie started to make us worry that Luke - who only appears in one scene at the end of The Force Awakens - could also be meeting his demise in the latest Star Wars installment. The film's very title also seemed to contain an ominous warning. And upon seeing the movie, at the very end, we witness Luke Skywalker's death. Or do we?

After a rematch against his nephew, Kylo Ren, Luke bests the young villain and then shows that his physical form hadn't actually been there fighting; he was using the Force to appear before Kylo Ren. When he's done, we see Luke's physical form back on Ahch-To . . . just as he disintegrates. It seems that the amount of Force he needs to expend in the duel is too much for his body, and like Yoda before him, he fades into the Force.

As far as we know, yes, this is the end for Luke Skywalker - or, at least, for his physical being. Also like Yoda in his pivotal scene with Luke in The Last Jedi, and Obi-Wan Kenobi before that, Luke will be able to appear again postdeath because he's a Jedi. This leaves room for Hamill to return in the next installment and beyond - so, after all, despite Luke's protest (and the obvious existence of more Jedi in the galaxy), the Jedi will never truly end.

Why the Reveal of Rey's Parents in Star Wars: The Last Jedi Matters

Warning: spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi ahead!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi finally answers one of the most pressing questions of the new trilogy: who are Rey's parents? Rey spends half the movie trying to figure it out, even as she trains with Luke - she visits creepy caves and looks into never-ending mirrors, bemoaning her lack of an answer to Kylo Ren in one of their Force-connected heart to hearts. In the end, Kylo tells Rey he's seen her parents in a vision . . . and that she has as well but doesn't want to acknowledge it.

As it turns out, Rey's parents are, well, nobodies from nowhere.

If this is actually true and not just a ploy on Kylo Ren's part to bring her over to his side, it's a bit of a letdown to longtime fans. We've spent so long trying to find the answer to this mystery, and, like Rey, we expected something amazing. There were theories that Rey is related to Luke or that she is related to Obi-Wan Kenobi - the stuff of Star Wars legends! Instead, Rey is bitterly disappointed to know her true parents sold her off for money and ended up dead on Jakku anyway.

But here's the thing: Rey may be a nobody from nowhere, but so was Anakin Skywalker in the beginning. In fact, in a way, being so makes her more important than ever.

Despite the title of the movie, there is no such thing as the last Jedi - and there won't be when nobodies and legacies alike wield the Force. Rey herself takes the Jedi tomes from the tree on Ahch-To (before Yoda burns it, obviously) to continue the legacy. The last shot of the movie further drives it home, as the young boy in the Fathier enclosure on Canto Bight seemingly uses the Force to move his broom into his hand. The Force flows through the universe and people regardless of bloodlines (especially since indicative midi-chlorians, if you want to get into it, aren't passed down genetically).

If Rey is a nobody from nowhere, but she revives the Jedi Order or balances the Force anyway, it demonstrates that heroes are not chosen: they're formed. They rise to answer the call, like Admiral Holdo and Rose Tico. Rey and the stable boy, neither of whom are part of the epic family drama playing out across the galaxies, open the story to a future. Because of this, there can be no last Jedi. Anyone could be the next hero. There is no Chosen One anymore (he was lightninged to death and then cremated, remember?). Rey's background matters because it doesn't matter.

While previous films look back to lost parents or origin stories, The Last Jedi turns its sights forward to a new future, just as Yoda instructs Luke. (And for all of you screaming, "BUT STAR WARS IS ABOUT THE SKYWALKERS!" . . . well, you still have Kylo Ren, aka Ben Solo, aka Leia's son, so, uh, enjoy that whole "Skywalker" thing.)

If You Blink, You Might Miss This Celebrity Cameo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

When we heard rumors that Justin Theroux would appear in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we refused to get our hopes up. After all, we already had the introduction of adorable porgs - having The Leftovers star in the film seemed too good to be true! But after finally catching a screening of the eighth installment of the iconic sci-fi franchise, we're able to officially confirm that Theroux does appear in Star Wars . . . but if you blink (or take an ill-timed bathroom break), you just might miss him.

For those looking out for a Theroux sighting, we've got the scoop. The actor appears in a casino scene when Finn and his new companion, Rose, go hunting for a "slicer" who can help them hack a system inside a First Order ship. Since Theroux's character has more interest in gambling with beautiful women than helping "rebel scum," we only catch a short glimpse of him chatting with ladies at a game table, dressed in a flashy black-and-white outfit that would make residents of The Hunger Games Capitol proud. Thanks to a flamboyant mustache and those recognizable cheekbones, you should be able to spot Theroux when Finn (John Boyega) and Rose (Kelly Marie Tran) do - without the threat of First Order soldiers hunting you and your friends.

Now that you're equipped to spot your favorite HBO star in the film, read more about Benicio Del Toro's mysterious character, who is introduced soon after Theroux in the movie. Then, dive into the rest of our Star Wars coverage to prepare for your next viewing!

A Comprehensive Guide to Who Taylor Swift's Songs Are About

In the wake of Taylor Swift's recent release of Reputation there's no better time to make sure you have your Swift facts straight. Most importantly, she writes from the heart, and a lot of her songs are about certain people. She doesn't reserve her songwriting for romance gone bad, either: she's also called out a couple of ladies and exes. Here is a brief history of Swift's songs about other famous people.

27 People Who Were Not Emotionally Prepared For The Walking Dead's Shocking, Fatal Twist

Gigantic spoilers for The Walking Dead below! Like, HUGE spoilers!

Well, you guys, it happened. The Walking Dead finally took my last remaining nerve, put it inside a blender, and hit "liquefy."

During the AMC hit's most recent episode, "How It's Gotta Be," it was revealed that Carl Grimes is going to die. Like really, truly die. Although the show's fandom has long cracked jokes about how awful the character is, there's no denying that watching him (and real-life star Chandler Riggs) quite literally grow up over the last eight seasons has earned him a giant place in our hearts. What are we going to do without that hat? Or the eyepatch? Or that HAIR?! The Walking Dead is never going to be the same.

In the season eight episode, Rick's teenage son discloses the deeply upsetting fact that he was bitten on the ribs a few episodes prior. While he doesn't die outright, the bite is most certainly fatal. Since Carl's character lives on far beyond this point in creator Robert Kirkman's comic series, his fatal bite comes as quite a shock. It's not only one of the biggest departures from the source material but also calls into question Negan's storyline. The monologue-loving villain forges a strange relationship with Rick's son, which plays a big part in where the story ends up.

Riggs is the only original series regular other than Andrew Lincoln (who plays Rick), and his exit from the zombie drama coincides with his decision to take a gap year before starting college. Is there a chance he could ever come back, though?

"Carl is going to die," Riggs put it in no uncertain terms during an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "There's no way he can get back from that. His story is definitely coming to an end." Riggs also noted that Carl's tragic fate wasn't tied to his own college plans. "Leaving Walking Dead wasn't my decision," he added. "It was all story related. It made sense story-wise for it to happen for Rick and Michonne and all the other characters."

Needless to say, I wasn't the only one taken aback (like, all the way back) by this plot shocker. Keep reading to see Twitter's best reactions to the heartbreaking Carl twist.

The Best Cameo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi Is, by Far, Carrie Fisher's Bulldog

Image Source: Getty / Araya Diaz

Minor canine-related spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi below!

One of the most endearing things about the late Carrie Fisher was her adorable relationship with her beloved French bulldog, Gary Fisher. Little Gary, who proudly rocks his floppy tongue, came into Fisher's life as her therapy dog, but it didn't take long to realize that the two were best friends. He accompanied her everywhere, from TV show sets to book signings to glam red carpet affairs. After she tragically passed away last year, Gary went to stay with Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd, and her former assistant, Corby McCoin.

We can only assume that Gary was a faithful presence on the set of Fisher's last film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, especially because director Rian Johnson has honored the little pup with an exceptionally cute cameo.

Although Gary's big reveal might have been intended as a surprise, Star Wars fan club website Fantha Tracks noticed a small, rolly alien in the arms of someone in the background of a movie still a week ahead of the film's release. Twitter user Clair Henry, a member of the fan club, asked Johnson if he could "confirm this cute little creature is #spacegary in #TheLastJedi." Not only did he oblige, but he also seemed genuinely (and happily) surprised that the eagle-eyed fans were able to spot Space Gary.

So, are you ready to see what Space Gary looks like? Drum roll, please . . .

Ta-da! Pretty freakin' cute, right?

If you have plans to see the alienified version of Gary for yourself (if you're still not seeing him, he's in the above photo, on the left), don't schedule your bathroom break for a scene toward the middle of the movie with Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) and Finn (John Boyega). The pair journey to a glam, Monaco-esque city to find a hacker to help them take down the First Order, and they have a tense conversation in front of an alien who happens to be holding Space Gary. It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, but so, so worth it.

Oprah Makes History as the First Black Woman to Receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award

The Golden Globes don't air until Sunday, Jan. 7, but Oprah Winfrey has already won an award. Would you expect anything less from the icon and media mogul?

Along with the other lucky winners, Winfrey will pick up a statuette and deliver a sure-to-be quotable speech when she heads home with the annual event's Cecil B. DeMille award. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) announced the exciting news on Wednesday, noting that each year, the award is given to a "talented individual who has made an incredible impact on the world of entertainment." According to HFPA president Meher Tatna, they decided to give Winfrey the honor in particular because she has "celebrated strong female characters on and off screen, and has been a role model for women and young girls for decades."

Winfrey hosted her insanely popular talk show for 25 years before branching out with her own magazine (O The Oprah Magazine) and cable network (OWN) and started her own successful school for girls (the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy). She's also dipped her toes into the acting world. She's wowed audiences and critics alike with roles in recent films like Selma and The Butler, which followed her Oscar and Golden Globe-nominated performance in 1985's The Color Purple. Her gardening Instagrams are also a gift, although it's unclear whether or not that factored into the HFPA's decision.

The A Wrinkle in Time star will make history as the Cecil B. DeMille award's first black female recipient. In the past, it's been given to Audrey Hepburn, Jodie Foster, Morgan Freeman, Barbra Streisand, Denzel Washington, Lucille Ball, Meryl Streep, Sidney Poitier, Robin Williams, Lauren Bacall, and Steven Spielberg.

Sorry, Riverdale: We Aren't Buying Your Lame Black Hood Reveal

Spoilers for Riverdale below!

Well, Riverdaliens, we finally know who the Black Hood is. Are you ready? Are you sitting down? Not because you're simply going to be shocked; you're going to be shocked at just how much of a letdown the big answer to the mystery really is. After weeks of theorizing about the identity of the Black Hood, Riverdale's season two Winter finale, "Chapter 22: Silent Night, Deadly Night," pulled off the serial killer's signature hood to reveal that it's none other than . . . Mr. Svenson?

Yes. Mr. Svenson.

Apparently the high school janitor has been running around killing the town's biggest sinners. The episode's shocking moment comes just after Betty and Archie hold the serial killer at gunpoint. He's then shot by Sheriff Keller (who's wearing a shirt this time, thankfully) and Archie unmasks Svenson, confirming his and Veronica's suspicions about the janitor. This revelation is troubling for a number of reasons.

Not only did the show seem to disprove the theory about Svenson in the previous episode - Archie looks into the man's eyes and confirms he isn't the man who shot his father in Pop's diner - but it's also kind of a lame choice. We aren't invested in Svenson as a character, and the twist feels hollow - like an out-of-nowhere surprise for the sake of trying to truly surprise fans, rather than actually coming to a satisfying (or sensical) conclusion.

Now, this is Riverdale we're talking about - there are more twists and turns the show can take when it returns. That means that Svenson might not actually be the Black Hood. At least, that's what some very skeptical fans of the show seem to think, and they took to Twitter as soon as the midseason finale aired to share their theories.

These Hilarious Harry Potter Comic Illustrations Will Have You in Tears

When we first read the absurd Harry Potter chapter written entirely by a predictive text bot, we thought it was the funniest thing that would ever come out of the Potter fandom - but, blessedly, we were wrong. Artist Megan Nicole Dong decided to illustrate the bot-written story, complete with overly friendly Death Eaters and a Hagrid pig. The hand-sketched illustrations capture precisely how hilarious the entire faux chapter is; Dong's drawings have us in tears!

Don't take our word for it - check out the entire series of illustrations below, then follow the artist on Twitter and Tumblr for more of her work.

There Isn't a Postcredits Scene in The Last Jedi, but You Should Stay For 1 Sweet Reason

For anyone who's not a fan of the postcredit scene phenomenon that Marvel and Warner Bros. movies have ushered in, we have good news: Star Wars: The Last Jedi doesn't have one. But there's still a very touching reason to stick around for the first few minutes of credits.

The unexpected death of Carrie Fisher left countless fans of her impressive career devastated, especially those in the Star Wars fandom. Her role as Princess Leia in the franchise's original trilogy launched her to icon status, and her return to the fold in 2015's The Force Awakens heralded a new and exciting way to revisit the fierce character, one of the Rebel Alliance's greatest leaders. Although her appearance in The Last Jedi is her last - Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy assured fans in April that Fisher's likeness would not appear in Episode IX - director Rian Johnson found the perfect way to honor her legacy in the credits.

After a few names go by, a touching dedication to Fisher appears. "In loving memory of our princess: Carrie Fisher," it reads. It stays on screen for just enough time to leave you teary-eyed and is yet another reminder of the way her character and presence is synonymous with royalty within the Star Wars fandom.

Embrace Your Inner Rey With This New Star Wars Clothing Line

While you might feel stumped as you check out every piece from the new slate of products, just let the Force guide you toward your favorite!

Unleash Your Inner Luke Skywalker With These Limited-Edition Star Wars Coats

When it comes to staying warm in icy weather, you can either do things Luke Skywalker's way (with stinky tauntaun guts) or you can do them the fashionable way. Thankfully, with Columbia sportswear's new Star Wars coat collaboration, that's much easier to do! The company is offering three limited-edition coats - inspired by Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia Organa, respectively - in its "Echo Base" collection just in time for the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The coats are each priced at $400, and Columbia's high-performance technologies will help "stand up to the freezing conditions on planet Hoth, or other galaxies closer to home."

There are only 1,980 of each coat available (in honor of the original 1980 Star Wars release date), and you can grab yours online or in Columbia retail stores starting on Dec. 8. Check out these photos of the intergalactically chic jackets, which - unlike Luke's tauntaun - won't smell bad on the inside or outside. We think there's an obvious winner in this competition, don't you?

Why Your Favorite Game of Thrones Characters Will Probably Be Separated in Season 8

With each passing day, we inch closer to the premiere of Game of Thrones season eight. Of course, with the premiere not slated until sometime in 2019, we still have quite some time. Luckily, a few choice details about the final season have started to trickle out courtesy of the HBO fantasy epic's cast. In addition to Sophie Turner's recent insight into the finale's script and how much filming they have left, John Bradley - who plays Samwell Tarly - spoke to TV Guide about the characters we'll see in season eight. Or rather, where we'll see them.

"These characters are so detailed and so rich, you can feel that you've got a pretty good handle on your character. You can predict how your character will react in any given circumstance, but when you place these characters in a new environment, it's always putting them under a microscope, and you constantly have to reexamine your character," Bradley said. "Each of the characters this year is placed in a completely alien environment at some point in the season that they've never been placed in before. The thrill is seeing how they react to it and how they respond . . . This season, I think, more than any other is stretching these characters."

The suggestion that the characters will be put in "completely alien environments" is what has us hung up - does it simply mean that we'll see Daenerys heading to King's Landing and that Jaime will make a trek up to Winterfell? Or could it mean that we'll see some of our favorite, recently reunited characters - like Dany and Jon Snow, and Sansa and Arya - separated once more? Bradley might consider that possibility a "thrill," but we're banking on the former.

Regardless of how season eight shakes out, it seems like waiting an eternity for the premiere will be worth it.

"The stakes definitely feel ramped up," Bradley continued. "We know that we've got a real job to do. This has been a part of people's lives for so many years. This is our eighth season, and we are kind of feeling the pressure to get it right because we want to satisfy people. We want to give people a payoff that they're going to be happy with. We know how militantly passionate the fans of this show can be - in a good way - and we just kind of want to give them an ending that they deserve."

17 Gift Ideas For the Person Who Never Stopped Loving Sex and the City

It's been over a decade since the last episode of Sex and the City aired, but the show lives on. Part of the show's legacy remains in those poignant Carrie Bradshaw quotes that never left our minds. Of course, we also have the two movies and not the third movie because we all know how that panned out. Disappoint aside, though, the show is still on our minds, as fresh as it ever was. If you have a die-hard fan in your life, we've some timeless, Carrie-approved gifts.

Why the Music in Grey's Anatomy Matters So Much

Let's be honest: the music in Grey's Anatomy is absolutely iconic.

"I distinctly remember discussing how important it would be that the show's music should be its own character," wrote Alexandra Patsavas, the show's music supervisor, in a post on Shondaland. "This character would have a place in both the operating room and the break room. It would be there in elevators, bars, and homes. And, of course, it would be there for all THE BIG STUFF - for weddings and funerals, for births and deaths, for the grittiest moments and the most lighthearted."

Patsavas isn't alone in this sentiment. The medical drama's creator, Shonda Rhimes, recognizes the undeniable impact of the show's impeccable music selection over the years, tweeting in November that she only included "the most iconic" Grey's songs in the 300th episode. Over its 14 seasons, Grey's has featured a lot of soul-stirring, toe-tapping songs that trigger some really memorable moments for fans. A lot of the songs featured throughout the series are often attached to huge storylines or finales, such as "Chasing Cars" in the season two finale, the former Grey's theme song, "Cosy in a Rocket," and "Keep Breathing" from the season three finale when Meredith has to cut Cristina out of her wedding dress. The music in the show has arguably been just as memorable as the characters, and it's something fans can't help but to gush about.

24 Sad Songs From 2017 That Will Turn You Into an Emotional Wreck

If you're going through a breakup or just in need of a good cry, we have the ultimate lineup for you. From Noah Cyrus's "Make Me (Cry)" to Kygo and Selena Gomez's "It Ain't Me" to "Issues" by Julia Michaels, we were treated to some really amazing sad songs this year. Trust us, these tracks will have you bawling your eyes out all through next year.

These Dart Nesting Dolls Are the Perfect Gift For Any Stranger Things Fan

The following contains minor spoilers for Stranger Things season two.

Aside from the weirdly sexy mullet-rocker Billy, our favorite unlikable yet lovable Stranger Things character is definitely D'Artagnan the baby Demogorgon. Like Dustin, we can't resist Dart's adorable lil' face - so when we found out that Funko is debuting a Dart-inspired nesting doll in 2018, we naturally jumped out of our seats.

The plush, as seen above, includes three parts: the youngest, sluggiest version of Dart, smiling tadpole Dart, and then Dart in Demogorgon form. Each of the two smaller plushies fits inside the largest, creating an adorable nesting doll of Upside Down proportions. There is no price listed yet, but the dolls will be available from Funko next year.

Talk about a perfect gift for Stranger Things fans, right? We can't imagine a better plush to cuddle with while watching Netflix!

Who Is the REAL Black Hood in Riverdale? We've Got 5 Major Suspects

In the Winter finale of Riverdale, we seem to have finally solved the mystery that has been plaguing us for the entirety season two. If we believe what we're being told, then the Black Hood is none other than Mr. Svenson, the school janitor whose entire family was murdered in cold blood when he was just a child. But if you're calling bullsh*t on the reveal, you're not alone.

I, along with many other Riverdale fans, believe the Black Hood is still at large. Mr. Svenson is just a red herring. And if that's true, we need to reassess everything. Taking into account all of the twisted f*ckery that's that's happened so far since poor Fred Andrews was shot at Pop's, here are my top five suspects for the real Black Hood.

34 Actors You Forgot Were on Grey's Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy has been on for 14 seasons - that's two short of ER and one more than Supernatural. Over the course of those many, many episodes, we've seen a ton of memorable guest stars pass through the hospital doors. Some big names even had longer arcs on the show, but we wouldn't blame you for forgetting about them. After all, so much happens on the series. With the season 11 finale rapidly approaching, we thought we'd take stock of who has appeared on the series over the years. Check it out, and when you're done, sob to these infamous Grey's Anatomy hits.

Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé Made Beautiful Music Together Long Before "Perfect"

"Perfect" is the wedding-worthy, chart-topping new duet between Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé, but it's certainly not the first time the two music superstars have created beautiful music together. Back in 2015, Ed and Bey hit the stage together for two joint performances. At a Grammys tribute to Stevie Wonder that February, they gave a soulful rendition of his hits "Fingertips," "Master Blaster," and "Higher Ground," along with Gary Clark Jr. In September, they reunited again at the Global Citizen Festival in NYC, where Beyoncé welcomed Ed on stage to help her sing "Drunk in Love."

It's clear that these two have tons of chemistry together on stage, so we're hoping we can look forward to many more collaborations between them in the future. For now, watch their powerful duets above and below.

Does Timothée Chalamet Look Familiar? Here Are 7 Places You've Probably Seen Him Before

Timothée Chalamet is making a big splash in Hollywood, thanks to his breakout role in Call Me by Your Name. In addition to the film, Chalamet was recently nominated for his first-ever Golden Globe. Even though that's obviously a major accomplishment, the 21-year-old has actually been around for quite some time now. Chalamet has been starring in films and TV shows since 2008 and has even made guest appearances on Royal Pains, Law & Order, and The Adderall Diaries. Take a look back at some of his most notable projects.

Natural Oven Cleaner For Baked-On Grime

If you've got a dirty secret hiding in your kitchen, then it's time to take care of it. Instead of purchasing a chemical-filled oven cleaner, make your own to leave your oven looking sparkling clean. And guess what? This DIY costs basically nothing to make and doesn't involve breaking a sweat. You won't be embarrassed to open your oven during dinner parties ever again after trying this homemade cleaning concoction!

What You'll Need:

  • 1/4 cup liquid dish soap
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide
  • Zest of one lemon
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • Scrub sponge
  • Paper towels

Directions:

  1. Even if you're dealing with years of baked-on grime (like with this oven), giving it a quick wipe-down with warm, soapy water with a scrub sponge is a great starting point for tackling the mess. Rinse the sponge often to remove grease.
  2. Mix together the ingredients until it resembles thick glue. The baking soda naturally scrubs without scratching, while the hydrogen peroxide and dish soap tackle all that gunk. Lemon zest offers a fresh scent along with the vinegar.
  1. Remove the racks and use a paper towel or sponge to smooth the cleaner all over the inside of the oven, including the oven door. You'll see it start working right away, but don't be tempted to scrub! The longer the concoction sits, the better. Once you've run out of cleaner and the oven is coated, shut the door and let it work its magic for at least four hours.
  1. Open the oven and use a damp scrub sponge to remove the cleaner, and also give a little scrub here and there. It's helpful to have a bucket of warm, soapy water nearby for this step. And without any serious scrubbing, the oven is noticeably cleaner!
  1. Set your oven to self-clean, and close the door. It's OK if some of the cleaner is hanging around in crevices or on areas that were really baked-on, but the entire oven shouldn't still be coated while it's cleaning. Allow your oven to run its self-clean cycle, and then let cool for at least an hour before the next step.
  2. Open your oven and use a damp paper towel or sponge to wipe away any remaining cleaner and residue left over from the self-cleaning. The result is a sparkling-clean oven!

Obama's Photographer Says Sandy Hook Was the "Worst Day of His Presidency"

On the day of the unimaginable and tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School - Dec. 14, 2012 - Barack Obama addressed the nation in a famously vulnerable press conference. "Each time I learn the news, I react not as a president, but as anybody else would: as a parent," Obama said through tears. "Our hearts are broken today." Five years later, the former president's photographer describes that day as the worst of his presidency.

"It was difficult for him to maintain his emotions as he talked about this," Pete Souza said of the press conference in a new interview with Business Insider, adding, "I think that was probably when he cried for the first time."

The photographer also described the moment Obama received the horrifying news, which Souza captured on camera. "His Homeland Security Adviser John Brennan came up to the Oval Office," he said. "He had gathered all the facts, had talked to the FBI, and told the president that indeed 26 people had been shot, including 20 first grade kids." Souza's photograph of that exact moment is shown below.

Souza continued, "In the picture, you see just kind of the energy just zap out of the president," adding, "The horror of sending your 6-year-old kid off to school, you put him on the school bus, and you never again see them again because some crazy guy shot them to death point-blank at their school. I think he was very emotional and just thinking about this as a fellow parent, almost more so than as a president."

Net Neutrality Was Just Repealed - Here's What That Means For You

Net neutrality - or the right to a free, open internet - took a massive hit on Dec. 14 when federal regulators voted to repeal the Obama-era rules that prohibited telecommunications companies from commodifying the web into "fast" and "slow" lanes and from blocking access to certain websites and applications. With a 3-2 majority among the voting commissioners, Republicans took home a victory for the Trump administration's war on regulation. But just because it's on the Trump agenda doesn't mean that it's an issue that the GOP felt strongly about repealing. Instead, the vast majority of Americans - including four out of every five Republicans - were very much against this sort of repeal on the basis that it does far, far more harm than good. Ultimately, the driving motivation for those tasked with the decision was not making the internet better for consumers but increasing revenue for companies like Comcast and Verizon.

But what does this decision mean for us, as people who use the internet?

Firstly, it's important to note that we likely won't start feeling the brunt of the repeal in the next few weeks, or even months - at the end of the day, we're still talking about bureaucracy, and a decision of this magnitude doesn't appear on paper overnight. But once the decision has been fully entered into the federal register, internet service providers will then be able to carve out restrictions around the way we access, consume, and use the internet. At that point, companies will be able to take anticompetitive actions (slower speeds, fees for access) against platforms like Netflix and Hulu in order to drive consumers back to having monthly cable services and bundles, and, even more frighteningly, they'll be able to dictate the speed at which we can access certain parts of the web without having to explain themselves for it. That means that in a worst-case scenario, socially driven movements could have their online presence silenced (or, at the very least, slowed down) if their interests do not align with those of the cable providers, and there would be no repercussions for it.

Not all is lost just yet, though. We're now facing down what's sure to be a messy, widespread battle being fought not only in courtrooms across the country but on the floor of Congress as well. Ultimately, this means that now more than ever, it's crucial that we draw as much attention to this issue as possible - through calling representatives, staging protests, and taking action through the myriad organizations that will soon spring up to fight this - because the only way to ensure that this does not get pulled off as is is to make sure that it does not leave the news. There are a number of different lawsuits that are expected to be filed, and Congress has already started receiving bills to backtrack the action. But unless constant pressure is being put on those decision makers who have the power to change net neutrality's fate, it could be pushed aside for other pressing issues or used as an inappropriate bargaining chip in an already-gridlocked Congress.

For now, make your voice heard - and don't accept the fate of a blocked, gridlocked internet. We've come way too far to let this be decided by three individuals in a hearing, and as things develop, we will be sure to provide you with any and all actions you can take to ensure that we're able to keep the internet that we all deserve.

Forget Trump, Let's Just Look at Pictures of 3 Former Presidents Watching Golf Together Forever

Former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton came together for the Presidents Cup at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey, and spoiler alert, THERE ARE PHOTOS.

In what can only be described as a welcome respite from the normal news cycle of increasingly frantic crazy, on Sept. 28, our three most recent presidents got together to watch some golf. To be clear, they weren't playing golf - like a certain other president we know - but Clinton, Obama, and Bush were all present for the opening round of the four-day event, which features the best male golfers from the US facing off against the most lauded international figures in the sport.

Regardless of how you feel about each of our last three presidents, it's hard not to look back fondly at the times that once were - so ahead, bask in the glory of the most nostalgic set of photos you'll see all day. And be sure to read through to the end for a bonus shot of one Barack Obama and a very well-known fan.

The Twitter Response to the FCC's Vote to Repeal Net Neutrality Is Anything but Neutral

For some Americans, the reaction to the FCC's Dec. 14 vote to repeal net neutrality was asking "what's next?" - but for others, the natural response was to crack jokes. So amid much of the chaos, frustration, and confusion about what the repeal vote actually means for us all, there were a few bright spots to laugh about despite the discouraging vote news. And since we likely won't feel the effects of the repeal for quite a while, there will be plenty more opportunity for Twitter users to roast the FCC over the next few months - so strap in, because it's sure to be a wild ride.

Read some of the best reactions to the vote, then make your voice heard to oppose the FCC's decision and put up a fight for net neutrality.

Never Want to Watch a Movie Starring an Accused Sexual Predator Again? This Site Can Help

Every day, it seems like the list of creeps in Hollywood gets longer as new allegations of sexual misconduct surface. It can be overwhelming to try to keep track of all the actors, producers, directors, studio execs, and screenwriters who have been accused. If you're like me, you want to avoid watching and supporting projects these individuals play - or played - a role in creating. Luckily, a new searchable database called Rotten Apples - a play on the popular movie rating site Rotten Tomatoes - has sprung up. According to the site's "about" section, its goal is making "ethical media consumption easier" by helping viewers identify whether a movie or TV show has connections to someone accused of sexual assault or harassment.

Simply type the title of a project into the search bar and the site will certify the movie or TV show as either "fresh" or "rotten." Take Shakespeare in Love, for example. After searching for the film, the website deemed it "rotten" and gave me the names of those involved who have been accused of harassment or assault - producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein and actors Geoffery Rush and Ben Affleck - as well as links to specific, credible sources to back up these claims. You can even find a certain US president's name if you look up Home Alone 2.

The database creators acknowledge that it isn't perfect and the page encourages users to reach out if they notice an error or a missing name. Given the scale of the project, it's no surprise that they might miss a few names along the way. In addition to using Rotten Apples, I'll still be doing my own research, but it's a helpful step in the right direction.

For now, it's unclear who's behind the new tool. We've reached out to Rotten Apples via the email address listed on the website and will update this story if we hear back.
