5 Miss Universe Contestants Ditch Makeup in a Raw Photo Shoot

"Minimalism" is far from the first word that comes to mind when you think about pageants. Beauty queens know it's all about having the biggest false lashes, the most intense contouring, and blinding highlighter (you have to stand out on stage amidst the world's most beautiful women, after all). That's why it's so refreshing when they allow themselves to be seen more stripped down.

We loved it when, earlier this year, seven Miss Universe contestants posed barefaced in a more natural photo shoot. Now, more of them have joined the movement. Five women, hailing everywhere from Spain to Uruguay, skipped their usual pageant makeup for a more low-key beauty look. The results are absolutely stunning.

See their breathtaking raw portraits, ahead.

This Hallmark Christmas Movie Drinking Game Guarantees You'll Get More Than Tipsy

There's a good chance you'll be sipping on a cozy drink like spiked apple cider or boozy hot cocoa as you curl up on the couch to watch Hallmark's beloved Christmas movies, and now there's an ingenious way to combine the two activities. Meet the Hallmark Christmas drinking game, a hilariously spot-on list of common themes from Hallmark movies that prompts you to take a drink each time you spot one. Notice that a character's name has a reference to Christmas, like Holly or Nick? Take a drink. Hear someone say they moved to a small town from a big city? Take a drink. See people having a snowball fight or ice skating? Take two drinks for that one.

This true gem of a drinking game is courtesy of Brittany Graves, who shared the idea on Facebook and wrote, "We invented a drinking game that works with any of them! My hubby actually watches with me now lol." We don't blame her husband! Who could resist even the cheesiest and most predictable Christmas movie when a warm buzz is guaranteed? I'm cracking up over the brilliant "bonus points" at the very bottom: "Take a shot if the movie stars Candace Cameron Bure or Lacey Chabert." If this is your idea of the perfect night in, print out the drinking game for your next Hallmark movie marathon, but make sure you've got enough booze to keep refilling your glass!

Forget What You Know, THIS Is How to Do a Ballerina Bun (According to a Ballerina)

The ballerina bun, a hairstyle favored by classical dancers for centuries, has evolved and grown a life of its own off stage. Surely you've worn its more casual cousin, the topknot, after the gym or on no-wash days? No matter how messy (or gimmicky) the bun gets, the hairstyle's roots are always in practicality: it keeps hair off your face, takes only a couple minutes to achieve, and always looks polished.

No one knows the powers of a perfect ballerina bun like, well, a ballerina. It's necessary for keeping their hair secure (and not distracting!) through all their fouettés and grand jetés. It's practically a job requirement to know how to do a solid updo. That's why we tapped Lauren Lovette, principal dancer at the New York City Ballet, to show us how she gets the classic look. She plays the Sugarplum Fairy in The Nutcracker, which requires her to wear a tiara anchored by a high bun.

Turns out, Lauren's got a ton of hacks you'll definitely want to remember. Learn the step-by-step ahead, and once you master that, learn how to get her makeup look, too.

When Your In-Laws Hate You: Surviving the Holidays

Once upon a time, I was a married lady with a very cute husband and a mother-in-law who just, well, really didn't like me. Every holiday, birthday, or family event, I would be filled with dread, worry, and fear over what might happen. Would there be a fight, a cruel word, or perhaps everything would go great? My anxiety drove me nuts, and probably my ex, too. Now that I'm divorced, my ex-mother-in-law and I have come to a mutual unspoken peace, and we get along. She is a fabulous grandmother and is extremely helpful to my ex and me with my daughter, so what more can I ask for, especially in a divorce situation? Will we go out for tea? Nope, but as long as we work together, it's what matters.

This holiday season, instead of dread over a potential spat, I am grieving the loss of my family as it once was (it's also my first holiday season that I will be splitting up time with my daughter). But for those of you about to go into the in-law trenches with the holidays approaching, here are some survival tips to keep your sanity - and your marriage - intact.

The Backseat Parent

This one is a popular complaint among my mommy friends: are your in-laws "backseat" parents? Do they tell you how to feed, bathe, clothe, and entertain your tots? If you nodded an empathetic yes, be prepared for more backseated parenting this Thanksgiving. In fact, I am pretty sure your backseat in-laws will be ready to tell you how much turkey to give (or not give) your little ones. Instead of reminding them whose uterus the kids came out of - do we need to go there? - just gently say, "Thank you for caring so much about the kids. It means a lot to me that you care so much, but don't worry. They will be fine."

Then smile like a friggin' Miss USA contestant. Whatever you do, do not smirk, frown, or give them the evil eye.

As much as they should keep their mouths shut, it's better to keep the peace at the turkey table, lest someone should throw a drumstick at you. Besides, that could ruin your outfit, and as a mom, how often do you get cleaned up and presentable without finding copious amounts of snot, glitter (it's like a drag queen secretly lives in my house), or stickers all over you?

The "You're Not Good Enough" In-Law

You may have married their child, but that doesn't mean they would have chosen you had they had a chance to go to the "wife store" to browse. As sad as it is when in-laws can't find the silver lining in their daughter-in-law, it happens.

If you get snide or subdued, but clearly unkind, remarks about your clothes, cooking, parenting, housekeeping, job, or the way you breathe, you should promptly pull up your skirt, turn around, pull down your undies, and moon those in-laws! That'll show 'em!

OK, so I was just playing out an imaginary scene in my mind.

If your in-laws hate your cooking or anything else about you this Thanksgiving, do this: don't give a hoot! As long as your partner thinks you're the cat's meow, just do your best yoga deep breaths, silence your inner monologue of "I want to choke him/her," and remind yourself that it is just one night together and then bam - they're outta here! Of course, if you have in-laws who are traveling and staying in town with you, you may have to heavily drink or walk away to get some air. Didn't you need to water some plant or something?

Namaste.

The "Blowouts," and I'm Not Talking About Your Hair

If indeed you find yourself head to head with one or both of your in-laws each holiday or event or wonder to yourself, "Is this eggnog or cyanide?", here are your choices:

  • Choice 1: Don't invite them. If it is that awful, don't subject your kids to it or yourself to the stress and drama. On the other hand, they're your kids' grandparents. If it's not too explosive, try your best to turn the other cheek and be kind. When your kids are older, they'll figure out very fast how nasty a grandparent can be and will be quick to be on your side or ask nicely, "Do we have to see them?"
  • Choice 2: Invite them but make a pact with your partner that if things get out of hand, it's time for them - or you - to leave. Leaving before things escalate is always smart and actually prevents problems down the line.
  • Choice 3: Ask to stay briefly or have the in-laws only stay briefly if tensions are too high, as it's important your kids see their grandparents. As long as the in-laws are good grandparents, don't cut them off. The kids didn't choose for their grandparents to not like you or you not like them. They shouldn't be punished.

If they happen to be crappy grandparents, though, you can always turn down an invite or claim that this year you're eating pizza for Thanksgiving as you are protesting the inhumane treatment of turkeys as a family kindness project. No one will believe you, but at least it's funny!

Bonus Tips!

Keep in mind that we don't choose our own families, and we can't always love the ones we marry into and they can't always love us. Being respectful of each other's differences and different family styles is key. Your children also are (usually) lucky to have grandparents who want to be around them. Let your kids treasure these relationships. Both sets of my grandparents were gone by the time I was 2. I wish I could have known them.

Plus, the two biggest rules of all: pick your battles and stick together as a team. There were many times when it truly hurt me that my mother-in-law didn't love me or try to befriend me and also plenty of times when I picked the small battles that I should have just left behind for my marriage's sake. Being a team together was a challenge for us too, although we both believe we tried as best as we could.

Pick the important issues, and ignore the smaller ones as the problems won't go away. It's not worth the fight or stress with your partner. And as for teamwork, as long as you and your partner decide together how to handle any in-law stress, you're golden!

Moms of Tweens: Welcome to the Stinky Years

When your kid's age hits the double digits, magic happens. And by "magic," I mean the type that, like, makes funk grow in Petri dishes during science experiments.

One day you're hugging them and catch an unmistakable whiff of a rancid armpit, and at first you're horrified because you think your own deodorant must have failed you. But just as your mind is racing - you've used the same reliable brand of antiperspirant for years! - an even more horrible realization comes to you: the stank is actually emanating from your previously pleasant-smelling (or, at least, neutral-smelling) child. It's like someone punched you in the gut. Or, you know, in the nose with a big, stinky fist.

It's the not-so-sweet smell of a tween, and it's the harbinger of impending puberty, bringing with it every paranoia you have about the years to come.

Unfortunately, it doesn't stop at the pits, and you start to realize that tweens are inherently gross. They're in a weird spot where they don't fully realize the social impact that walking around like a garbage heap in sneakers could cause, so they don't really care what they look or smell like. In a little while, the allure of the first real crush will make them want to spruce themselves up a smidge, but for now, they just don't see the point.

Their feet, the same adorable little piggies you used to kiss and tickle, are now contained in socks so crusty they could probably walk to the washer themselves (ohhh, if only). Their shoes are the "before" scenario in a Febreze commercial, but you only wish you could go "nose blind."

They'll talk in your general direction, and their words will be delivered on a wave of breath so heinous that you'll wonder if it was just a very articulate-sounding fart. Then you'll realize that you no longer check their toothbrush for usage because you automatically assumed they reached an age where they could be trusted to brush responsibly - but no. Apparently you still need to remind them, using bold threats like, "Your teeth are going to fall right out of your head!" to try to get your point across. (Spoiler alert: it still doesn't work.)

Much to your dismay, you also have to remind them to use actual soap when they shower, because what seems obvious to you (or any showering person) is lost on a tween. Which is why they emerge from the bathroom smelling like a wet dog, with their hair still half-dry, leaving mounds of inexplicably soggy towels in their wake.

Because that's another thing: the slovenly nature of a tween, and all the gag-worthy scents that accompany it, doesn't stop at their personal hygiene.

Because that's another thing: the slovenly nature of a tween, and all the gag-worthy scents that accompany it, doesn't stop at their personal hygiene.

You'll find that their room is a place you visit less and less frequently as it becomes more and more depressing to set foot in. Once a cheerfully decorated haven, maybe with a few toys scattered around the floor on its messiest day, it has now turned into a festering dump. The tween's suddenly ravenous appetite and increased desire for privacy combine to make their bedroom a graveyard for every wrapper and dish they secretly spirit away. (Yes, even if you institute a "no food in the bedroom" rule. Maybe especially then.) It's like the gross-out factor of finding a sippy cup full of curdled milk in the toy box multiplied by a thousand. You'll find cereal bowls with gelatinous mush pooled thickly at the bottom, half-eaten granola bars, hardened bread, blackened banana peels, and enough dirty drinkware to require two trips to the dishwasher. Every drawer and cubbyhole becomes a trash receptacle and yet another reason to shriek, "We'll have rats!" Or roaches. Take your pick.

But there's always a light at the end of the sewer tunnel. You only have to harp on their foul habits for a year or so before they finally realize that, yes, good hygiene is indeed preferable to not giving a damn. Like anything else they've gone through, it's just a phase, and this too shall pass.

Just make sure you don't inhale too deeply until it does.

Barack Obama in a Santa Hat and Leather Jacket Is the Only Present We Need This Year

Step aside, mall Santa - Barack Obama is giving you a run for your money. On Dec. 14, former President Obama spent time at a Boys & Girls Club in Washington DC, handing out presents and spreading holiday cheer. According to the Washington Post, Obama Claus shook hands and greeted about 50 middle school students at their after-school program. Donning a "cool dad" leather jacket and a festive Santa hat, he's clearly the most stylish Claus we've ever seen.

"There's no better time than the holiday season to reach out and give back to our communities," he wrote on Twitter. Well, based on the video that Obama's communications director posted on Twitter, the children were equally as ecstatic to see him. We just have one question now that Obama's returned from the North Pole: would he mind maybe going back to the White House?!

Betty’s Long-Lost Brother Appears in Riverdale's Ominous Midseason Trailer

Although Riverdale's midseason finale ended more with a disappointing whimper than the Black Hood bang we were expecting, we're still excited to see where the back half of season two takes us when it returns in 2018. In addition to hopefully finding out who the REAL murderer is (we refuse to believe it's Mr. Svenson), the trailer for the remaining episodes hints at a few more complications for our favorite citizens of Riverdale. Jughead runs into some issues while re-entering Riverdale High, and Alice Cooper has an emotional reunion with her long-lost son, Chic.

As you might recall from previous episodes, Alice got pregnant with Betty's older brother when she was still in high school and was basically forced to give him up for adoption. We'll just have to wait until Riverdal returns on Jan. 17 to find out exactly how Alice and Chic's tense interaction goes down.

The Kardashian Family Really Knows How to Do Christmas Right

There are plenty of families that celebrate Christmas, but nobody does it quite like the Kardashians. In addition to their annual cards, the brood pulls out all the stops when it comes to their Christmas Eve bashes. Last year, John Legend, Babyface, and David Foster serenaded the guests with a few songs on the piano, and in 2015, Jennifer Lopez, Drake, and Toni Braxton all stepped out for the soirée. And not to mention, matriarch Kris Jenner always makes sure to send each one of her family members a giant gingerbread house every year.

The Best Cameo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi Is, by Far, Carrie Fisher's Bulldog

Image Source: Getty / Araya Diaz

Minor canine-related spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi below!

One of the most endearing things about the late Carrie Fisher was her adorable relationship with her beloved French bulldog, Gary Fisher. Little Gary, who proudly rocks his floppy tongue, came into Fisher's life as her therapy dog, but it didn't take long to realize that the two were best friends. He accompanied her everywhere, from TV show sets to book signings to glam red carpet affairs. After she tragically passed away last year, Gary went to stay with Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd, and her former assistant, Corby McCoin.

We can only assume that Gary was a faithful presence on the set of Fisher's last film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, especially because director Rian Johnson has honored the little pup with an exceptionally cute cameo.

Although Gary's big reveal might have been intended as a surprise, Star Wars fan club website Fantha Tracks noticed a small, rolly alien in the arms of someone in the background of a movie still a week ahead of the film's release. Twitter user Clair Henry, a member of the fan club, asked Johnson if he could "confirm this cute little creature is #spacegary in #TheLastJedi." Not only did he oblige, but he also seemed genuinely (and happily) surprised that the eagle-eyed fans were able to spot Space Gary.

So, are you ready to see what Space Gary looks like? Drum roll, please . . .

Ta-da! Pretty freakin' cute, right?

If you have plans to see the alienified version of Gary for yourself (if you're still not seeing him, he's in the above photo, on the left), don't schedule your bathroom break for a scene toward the middle of the movie with Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) and Finn (John Boyega). The pair journey to a glam, Monaco-esque city to find a hacker to help them take down the First Order, and they have a tense conversation in front of an alien who happens to be holding Space Gary. It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, but so, so worth it.

Thanks to Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Quit This Awful Habit

Love can make you do things you never even thought possible. After years of consistent smoking, Prince Harry has reportedly quit the harmful habit for the sake of Meghan Markle, whom he announced his engagement to in late November. Though smoking is a notoriously difficult vice to shake, it's his fiancée's own health that has inspired and motivated him to give it up for good.

"Harry has promised no smoking at all at home. It's not nice for Meghan as a non-smoker," a source told The Daily Mail. "So there's no more hanging out of the window for a quick puff. Harry has quit for Meghan." Hopefully Harry can fully shake it before their wedding on May 19!

In addition to Meghan's healthy lifestyle, what might also help Harry quit smoking is the fact that it's banned from all royal residences. Yep, in 2016 smoking was officially banned from Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Windsor Castle, and more over concerns that smoke from the outside was drifting into the building.

Nothing like a little royal mandate to stop you from doing something!

18 Lavish Holiday Gifts Stars Have Received

Celebrities spare no expense when it comes to holiday gifts. Throughout the years, we've seen stars receive everything from massive engagement rings to giant cheese wheels (we're looking at you, Chrissy Teigen). At the end of the day, what's the point of having money if you can't spend it, right?

The Holidays Are Here! See How Your Favorite Stars Are Spreading the Cheer This Year

Every Juicy Quote the Game of Thrones Cast Has Spilled About Season 8

The premiere date for Game of Thrones' highly anticipated eighth season is still almost two years away, which means we have plenty of time to obsess over each and every little thing the cast and crew have let slip. Thanks to interviews with Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), and more, we've gotten a pretty good idea about how the final season is shaping up. Spoiler alert: it's going to be insane.

36 Movies That Were Absolutely Roasted by Critics This Year

Among all of Hollywood's Oscar hopefuls, groundbreaking horror films, and daring dramas in 2017, there were bound to be a few duds. For critics, a few movies that left something to be desired slipped into the pack. We might personally love a few of them (#noshame), but that doesn't stop Rotten Tomatoes from doing its thing and revealing which flicks failed to crack 30 percent on the site's review aggregator, dubbed the Tomatometer. Take a look at the movies that have been crowned 2017's "worst."

Nobody Gets More Excited About Christmas Than Reese Witherspoon

In case you don't already know, Reese Witherspoon loves the holiday season, especially Christmas. Not only did she recently unveil a Draper James holiday collection in 2016, but the actress, who is best known as "Wreath Witherspoon" during the cold Winter months, also makes it a point to blow out the holiday as soon as Thanksgiving is over. In 2015, Reese posted a bright and festive Instagram photo of herself sitting by a plate of gingerbread cookies 24 days before Christmas, writing, "Never too early to wait for Santa ... Am I right?? #AnyMinuteNow." We can't say we don't admire her dedication. Sleigh on, Reese, sleigh on.

Sorry, Riverdale: We Aren't Buying Your Lame Black Hood Reveal

Spoilers for Riverdale below!

Well, Riverdaliens, we finally know who the Black Hood is. Are you ready? Are you sitting down? Not because you're simply going to be shocked; you're going to be shocked at just how much of a letdown the big answer to the mystery really is. After weeks of theorizing about the identity of the Black Hood, Riverdale's season two Winter finale, "Chapter 22: Silent Night, Deadly Night," pulled off the serial killer's signature hood to reveal that it's none other than . . . Mr. Svenson?

Yes. Mr. Svenson.

Apparently the high school janitor has been running around killing the town's biggest sinners. The episode's shocking moment comes just after Betty and Archie hold the serial killer at gunpoint. He's then shot by Sheriff Keller (who's wearing a shirt this time, thankfully) and Archie unmasks Svenson, confirming his and Veronica's suspicions about the janitor. This revelation is troubling for a number of reasons.

Not only did the show seem to disprove the theory about Svenson in the previous episode - Archie looks into the man's eyes and confirms he isn't the man who shot his father in Pop's diner - but it's also kind of a lame choice. We aren't invested in Svenson as a character, and the twist feels hollow - like an out-of-nowhere surprise for the sake of trying to truly surprise fans, rather than actually coming to a satisfying (or sensical) conclusion.

Now, this is Riverdale we're talking about - there are more twists and turns the show can take when it returns. That means that Svenson might not actually be the Black Hood. At least, that's what some very skeptical fans of the show seem to think, and they took to Twitter as soon as the midseason finale aired to share their theories.

Daisy Ridley Playing the Star Wars Theme Song on a Kazoo Will Pump You Up For The Last Jedi

As fans grab their lightsabers and Porg toys to get excited for the Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiere, Daisy Ridley had something else in mind to make us feel the Force: a kazoo!

The actress, who plays Rey, recently sat down for an interview with PopBuzz, where she was handed the instrument and challenged to play the Star Wars theme song. We're guessing they don't have kazoos in the galaxy far, far away because she was immediately confused about how that nostalgic toy works. After a second try, Daisy nailed it, and while she may prefer lightsabers to kazoos because her "music career just disappeared into the air," we think she's a natural.

Watch the video for a good laugh, then find out why the reveal of Rey's parents is so important in the latest film.

The Heartbreaking Significance of Those Gold Dice in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Big spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi below!

At two points in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we get emotional scenes featuring a set of gold dice. They're a heartbreaking nod to the dearly departed Han Solo (Harrison Ford), but if you're having a hard time placing them, you're not alone. Even if you're a diehard fan of the galactic franchise, remembering the last time the dice made an appearance is tough. In fact, they first appeared in A New Hope and haven't been seen much since.

In the 1977 film that kicks off the series, a small pair of gold dice are seen swinging in the cockpit of Han Solo's Millennium Falcon (which you can just make out in the top center of the photo above). It's briefly mentioned that he considers the dice "lucky," which is why he has them hanging in the cockpit as a lucky charm. They seemed to disappear from the movies after that, until they finally reappeared in advance of 2015's The Force Awakens. They can actually be seen in the upper left corner of the Star Wars cover that Annie Leibovitz shot for Vanity Fair in June of that year (ahead). Of the dice, which immediately captured fan attention, Lucasfilm Story Group creative executive Pablo Hidalgo offered a bit more about the canonical origin of Han's lucky charm.

"The story that you would hear if you traveled to cantinas or watering holes around the Star Wars galaxy is that those dice were involved in a game of Corellian Spike - a dice-using version of a card game called sabacc," he explained. "Rumor has it Han won the Millennium Falcon [from Lando Calrissian] with those dice. Whether or not that's just bar talk, I can't say."

Image Source: Annie Leibovitz exclusively for Vanity Fair

In The Last Jedi, the dice are featured much more prominently. Once Rey flies the Millennium Falcon to Luke Skywalker's remote island of Ahch-To, the Jedi ends up covertly sneaking aboard the ship while Chewbacca is busy chowing down on some roasted Porg. It's there that Luke stares down at the dice, clearly moved by thoughts about his late friend.

As the movie draws to an emotional conclusion, we see Luke break out the dice once more when he meets up with his sister, General Leia Organa. As they prepare for a make-or-break battle against Kylo Ren's First Order, Luke places the dice in Leia's hand as a sign of hope and goodwill. The eventual, intense lightsaber duel between Kylo and Luke not long after that scene leaves the latter completely drained of life. It's revealed that he wasn't actually there and instead was projecting his likeness using the Force. As his body disappears, so do the dice he gave to his sister.

While we don't know the whereabouts of the real dice, we can only assume Luke ensured a way for them to be returned to their rightful place: front and center in the Millennium Falcon's cockpit.

Prince Harry Reveals When He and Meghan Markle Plan to Start a Family

During a recent joint interview with BBC, Prince Harry opened up about starting a family with his fiancée, Meghan Markle, after proposing to the Suits star back in November. When asked by reporter Mishal Husain about whether he and Meghan are planning on having kids anytime soon, Harry replied, "Not yet, no, but I think eventually, one step at a time, and we'll start a family in the near future."

Of course, this wouldn't be the first time Harry has expressed his desire to become a father. Back in April, he told The Telegraph that he "would love to have kids." Family life has also been on Meghan's mind for quite some time now. In May 2016, Meghan told Best Health magazine that she couldn't "wait to start a family." The 36-year-old reiterated her sentiments just a few months later, telling Lifestyle magazine she dreamed of being a mom. "It's all about balance," she stated. "I have so much happiness in my career and am fortunate to travel the world and see so many amazing things - it will also be nice to be anchored to something grounded and in the same place. Raising a family will be a wonderful part of that."

When we think about all of the times Harry was out-of-control cute with kids and Meghan's humanitarian work with young girls, we can't help but believe these two will make wonderful, loving parents whenever "the near future" arrives.

These Hilarious Harry Potter Comic Illustrations Will Have You in Tears

When we first read the absurd Harry Potter chapter written entirely by a predictive text bot, we thought it was the funniest thing that would ever come out of the Potter fandom - but, blessedly, we were wrong. Artist Megan Nicole Dong decided to illustrate the bot-written story, complete with overly friendly Death Eaters and a Hagrid pig. The hand-sketched illustrations capture precisely how hilarious the entire faux chapter is; Dong's drawings have us in tears!

Don't take our word for it - check out the entire series of illustrations below, then follow the artist on Twitter and Tumblr for more of her work.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Are Kylo Ren and Rey Related?

Potentially incestuous spoilers from Star Wars: The Last Jedi below!

Arguably one of the biggest questions to come out of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was: who are Rey's real parents? Now that we've seen The Last Jedi, we have a small addendum to the query: who are Rey's real parents . . . because we REALLY need to know how to feel about the sexual tension between her and Kylo Ren!

OK, in all seriousness, the bond between the faces of the opposing sides of the galactic war - Republic Jedi-in-training Rey (Daisy Ridley) and the First Order's resident tantrum thrower, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) - is on display more than ever in the second installment of the recent trilogy. Although we don't get too many answers about the nature of what exactly is happening between them, we do see that there's definitely something there. The funny thing is, the pair actually spends most of the film apart.

While Rey is struggling to learn the ways of the Force and more about her own childhood on Luke Skywalker's remote island of Ahch-To, Kylo is stalking around Starkiller base feeling conflicted about his service to Supreme Leader Snoke. Their mirrored states of unease makes it all too easy for Snoke - a clever, maniacal humanoid villain dead set on turning Rey to the Dark Side - to open up a connection between the two. Rey and Kylo begin to have visions of each other despite their large physical separation, whether they want to or not (including one moment when Kylo is shirtless, which Rey is not pleased with) (or is she too pleased with it?!) (#TeamReylo).

When they finally meet up later in the film, the tension between them - sexual or otherwise - is palpable.

Their chats evolve into meaningful discussions about the nature of their relationship with the Force, their parents, and whether or not they belong to the Light or the Dark. When they finally meet up later in the film, the tension between them - sexual or otherwise - is palpable. For anyone who watches The Last Jedi and suddenly, uncomfortably, finds themselves on Team Reylo, but can't dispel the nagging worry that, hey, there's a chance Rey and Kylo are related, you've come to the right place. Do they share a blood line, or nah?

TL;DR, nobody knows for sure.

The answer to that question all comes down to the identity of Rey's real parents. Her mom and dad are actually a big part of her and Kylo's conversations, and Kylo claims to have seen who they really are in a vision. He first tells her that because of who her parents are, he knows she'll eventually turn to the Dark side to serve beside him. Later on, he confronts a sobbing Rey about her parents again, telling her they were nobodies, just Jakku scavengers buried "in pauper's graves."

To be honest, I got the impression Kylo was lying in this scene. After all this build up, it seems odd that Rey's parents would end up being nobodies and have little to no effect on the rest of her story. If they are anonymous Jakku scavengers and the whole point is that anyone can be born Force sensitive (like the little boy at the end of the film appears to be), then lucky you - Rey and Kylo are not related! However, if you don't believe Kylo and instead subscribe to the popular fan theory that Rey carries Skywalker blood (i.e. she's either Han Solo and Leia's long-lost child, or Luke's illegitimate daughter), then yeah, there's a chance their special bond is much more cringeworthy than we all thought. Since there isn't any concrete information out there either way, we can't be completely sure.

What I will say is, I don't think Rey's parents are unknown "paupers," but I don't think she's a member of the Skywalker family, either. If I had to bet, she's a descendant of Obi-Wan Kenobi's bloodline. After all, Rey hears the voices of actors Alan Guinness and Ewan McGregor - who both played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the previous films - when she picks up Luke's lightsaber in the basement of Maz Kanata's castle in The Force Awakens. Could that be because Obi-Wan had the lightsaber in his possession for far longer than Luke did, and it's calling for its next rightful owner? There are also plenty more parallels between the two characters' lonely, desert backstories.

At the end of the day, the most likely conclusion is that the connection between Rey and Kylo is not because they're related by blood, but rather they're both enduring inner turmoil - Rey trying to find her rightful place in the world and Kylo grappling with both the murder of his father and his fractured relationship with Leia. Only together can they bring balance to the Force and give their universe a fresh start. But if the ending of The Last Jedi is any indication, they have a long road ahead of them.

Timothée Chalamet Has Only Been Linked to 1 Star - It's Not Selena Gomez

Timothée Chalamet is making waves in Hollywood thanks to his breakout role in Call Me by Your Name. Even though he was recently spotted kissing Selena Gomez in NYC, the makeout session was all part of the upcoming project he and Selena are working on with Woody Allen. In fact, Timothée has only been romantically linked to one star since he first started acting in 2008 (at least that we know of, anyway). That one star just so happens to be Madonna's 21-year-old daughter, Lourdes Leon.

Timothée and Lourdes first met as students at La Guardia High School of Music & Art and struck up a romance in 2013. While Timothée has been tight-lipped about the details surrounding their split, it seems the two are still on good terms. When asked if Lourdes had seen his movie yet, Timothée recently told Andy Cohen, "She hasn't seen it yet, but she's excited to. She keeps teasing me about it. The movie itself she's very excited about, and the reception it's been getting is only a great thing, it's like the public appearance stuff around it, some of the late-night things I've done. I'll get made fun of."

In addition to Call Me by Your Name, Timothée is set to appear in the upcoming movie Beautiful Boy with Steve Carell.

Is Anyone Having More Fun Than Barack Obama This Year? Not Likely

Barack Obama, 56, is living his best life now that he's out of the White House, and while we're still reeling from his departure, we couldn't be happier for him. The former president has been having a blast letting loose on yachts, kitesurfing with Richard Branson, and hitting the links, but even between all that excitement, he still has time to respond to wedding invitations. The country certainly isn't the same without him, but we have to say, Post-Presidency Barack is our favorite Barack.

My Mom Was Latina, My Dad Isn't - 10 Annoying Comments I'm Tired of Hearing

As a multiracial woman with a Peruvian-born mom and a white American dad, I can say life can be a little bit complicated. Growing up, it definitely wasn't the "cool" thing to be multiracial, especially in small-town Oregon where I spent my high school years, so I didn't really start to embrace the Peruvian part of my identity until I got to college. And while I have always taken pride in being Latina - it certainly has come with some built-in perks, like being fluent in Spanish by preschool - the whole thing comes with its fair share of eye-roll-worthy moments. Cue that time customers at my high-school waitressing job assumed I didn't speak English because of the way I looked.

If this story sounds familiar, chances are this roundup of other annoying comments and struggles will be too. Keep scrolling for the most frustrating moments I've faced.

32 Jennifer Lopez Outfits That Were Meant to Be Seen From the Back

We all know that Jennifer Lopez is the queen of rocking naked dresses and ones that show off her legs, but what we love is when she wears a dress that leaves us staring from all angles - especially the back.

Who doesn't remember the dress she wore to the 2017 Billboard Latin Music Awards? Yes, it looked striking from the front, but the back was something else entirely. It was made up of just strings of fabric coming together to create shapes while still being totally see-through. We're telling you . . . Jennifer has a knack for keeping all eyes on her, but we certainly aren't mad about it.

Praise Be: 62 Brand-New Maybelline Products Are Coming to Drugstores in January

ICYMI: Maybelline has had a busy Fall. The drugstore brand has released a collection of Super Stay Un-Nudes liquid lipsticks, launched a new rose gold highlighter, and led a collaboration with none other than Ms. Gigi Hadid.

But there's been a catch to many of these Fall 2018 releases, and it's the huge caveat that many of these goodies are currently only available online. Of course, one of the huge draws of Maybelline is that it's a ubiquitous drugstore brand you can walk into any CVS or Walgreens and just pick up, no pesky shipping costs or wait time required. Luckily, the brand just announced that this newness will spread to brick-and-mortar stores come January 2018.

From a crazy-good mascara that smells like coconut (consider us sold already) to vampy lip kits and full-coverage foundation, there's something for every part of your face represented in this line. We're especially swooning over the City Kits, two $12 cheek and eye palettes that contain iridescent shades and plenty of rose gold to satisfy your obsession for the in-demand hue. There's also a moody collection of bullet lipsticks. Smoky Jade is a turquoise, and Concrete Jungle is an eye-catching gray that reminds us of the dusty hue we spotted on Gigi over the Summer.

Read on for every single product - yup, all 62 - you can get your hands on in January.
