Mom's Message After Overhearing a Parent at Chick-Fil-A Talk About Her Boy With Disabilities

After a potentially painful and uncomfortable encounter, Leah Carroll has a message to the mom-of-three who was at Chick-fil-A with her three kids. Leah wants this fellow parent to know that she overheard the questions, saw the stares, and was blown away by her response.

"I sensed your panic when your 5-year-old son pointed at my son in his wheelchair and shouted, 'Mom look at THAT boy!'' Leah shared on Love What Matters Facebook page. "You leaned forward and quietly told him and his 3-year-old brother that we don't say things like that and they shouldn't point or stare."

Leah waited because she knew in most cases, telling a child not to stare or question her child's differences doesn't work because young, curious minds have questions that they want answered. "When you realized your whispers weren't working I saw the panic disappear and you took a deep breath and took a step of courage," she wrote. "You brought your boys over to Malachi and said 'I bet he would like to know your names!'"

Leah explained that as they said their names to Malachi, her child started grinning and chatting with the kids and that this interaction was more important than this amazing mom could've realized.

The joy on his face brought tears to my eyes- he loves kids his age but so many are fearful to come and speak to him. Your boys continued to ask questions about his foot braces, his wheelchair, why his legs don't work, why he holds his mouth open like that.

You took the time to educate your sons in that moment and help them understand that different is okay. Different is not something to fear. And that it was okay to ask questions! Thank you for giving my son a chance to meet your kids.

Thank you for being the type of mom who educates your children instead of frantically trying to silence them. Special needs moms have to develop tough skin - we get used to stares, comments, and whispers. Please know it takes a lot to offend us, particularly when the comments are coming from young children. Give your kids the same grace we give them and use the opportunity to teach them about differences.

So Chick-Fil-A mom, thank you for raising your children to embrace children like Malachi. And thank you for giving my son something to smile about."

5 Miss Universe Contestants Ditch Makeup in a Raw Photo Shoot

"Minimalism" is far from the first word that comes to mind when you think about pageants. Beauty queens know it's all about having the biggest false lashes, the most intense contouring, and blinding highlighter (you have to stand out on stage amidst the world's most beautiful women, after all). That's why it's so refreshing when they allow themselves to be seen more stripped down.

We loved it when, earlier this year, seven Miss Universe contestants posed barefaced in a more natural photo shoot. Now, more of them have joined the movement. Five women, hailing everywhere from Spain to Uruguay, skipped their usual pageant makeup for a more low-key beauty look. The results are absolutely stunning.

See their breathtaking raw portraits, ahead.

6 New Year's Eve Superstitions That Will Increase Your Chances For Travel in 2017

The guidebook for celebrating New Year's Eve with your family has already been written, and it includes every single superstition and tradition that Latinos hold to be true. While the old wives' tales can span from eating 12 grapes for luck to wearing the perfect color of underwear for love to starting the year on your literal right foot, if what you want is to be on planes, trains, and automobiles next year, there are only a few things you must have in your list. Have a little faith and follow our plan ahead.

1. Run around the block with a packed suitcase.

If you've ever spent New Year's Eve in a Latin American country, you know you can see more than a few people carrying a suitcase around the block when midnight comes. It's worth it since people swear it will ensure lots of travel in the new year!

2. Pack your suitcase right.

You can just throw stuff in the suitcase; you have to pack with a destination in mind. If you're looking to spend most of 2017 on the beach, then don't pack sweaters is all we're saying.

3. Run seven times around the house, fast.

If you don't want to walk around the block - you know, trying to avoid your neighbors thinking you have lost it - running around your room (or home) seven times is said to bring luck with travel, too.

4. Write it down.

Making a New Year's wish list and including your travel plans for the year is as great as sending a letter to Santa on Christmas - it helps you commit and visualize your wishes coming true. Put travel at the top of your list and you'll be good to go.

5. Grab a chair, an umbrella, and a suitcase.

New Year's Eve is the one time that having an open suitcase inside the house is actually considered good luck. The old superstition goes that if you stand on a chair with an umbrella open and one hand on a suitcase, you'll increase your chances of traveling over the next year. It might look weird, but it's worth a try!

6. Go in and out of the door, then repeat.

Grab your suitcase and walk in and out the front door of your home - this symbolizes the number of times you want to travel throughout the year, so give yourself at least a few minutes.

What Is It Like to Be in an Open Marriage? 1 Woman Shares Her Story

Sara and Ben (names have been changed) are a happily married, millennial couple in an open relationship. We reached out to Sara to share some insight into their journey to polyamory, the ground rules they've set, and what it's like to date other people - and maybe even fall in love with other people - when you're already married to someone you love.

How long have you been with your husband?

We've been together for nine years. We met on our first day of college - I was determined to break out of my nerdy shell and sit next to the cutest person in the room. I was really drawn to Ben. He ended up being super quiet and thus I was convinced that he hated me, but in actuality he was just nervous (and a soft-spoken person). We became friends, and the rest is history.

When did you decide to have an open relationship?

We started talking about being monogamish (which later evolved into full-blown polyamory, haha) about two years into our relationship. Seven years ago.

Who initiated it? How did the conversation go?

Ben is an open-minded person who has never been a big believer in social constructions or tradition. I am a bit more of a rule follower, but definitely liberal and nonjudgmental. He brought up the idea of him being comfortable with me casually dating other people early on in our relationship. He knew that he was my first boyfriend (I was 18), and he didn't want me to feel like I was missing out on dating. We talked about nonmonogamy in theory for a long time (two years?) before ever acting on it. In hindsight, I feel like this gave me time to get used to the idea and for us to build a solid foundation. One of my biggest takeaways from our relationship (and from hearing about other couple's open relationships) is that a successful nonmongamous relationship centers on honest communication and a strong connection between the couple.

How would you describe your relationship?

Our relationship has evolved over time, but the constant has been how close we are with one another. We've been consistently super happy together for almost a decade! The other constant is that since becoming "monogamish" (and eventually, "poly"), we've always dated separately.

At first, we were monogamous (I was 18 and didn't know much about any other relationship structures). Ben mentioned that he would be comfortable with me casually dating other people early on in our relationship, and it was then something we talked about every once in a while for a few years. These conversations were happy and exploratory. When we graduated college (and moved in together), I met someone who I could see myself dating. Ben was comfortable with me exploring it, and I casually went on a few dates. From there, we talked about opening the relationship on his end as well, and I was surprised by how nonjealous I felt. We took it really slow (lots and lots of conversation) and occasionally dated outside of our relationship. As time went on, the "casual" piece has become less and less important. I dated someone for over a year, and the consistency (and depth) was really nice. Ben was fully supportive - in fact, he prefers when I date someone longer term, because he trusts that I'm safe (dating new people can feel scary - you never know who might be a creep!). He has been seeing two women for about eight months, and again I am surprised by how normal it feels.

Logistically, we tend to see the other people we're dating (if we're dating other people) about once a week. I have an incredibly busy career (whereas Ben's is more mellow), so he might go on two dates a week (almost always during times when I am busy anyways). I am super picky and not always seeing someone, but when I am, I like to see them once a week. In the past I have spent the night at a boyfriend's house, but Ben has not spent the night anywhere.

Do you ever get jealous? Does he?

Making the other person feel valued and primary is extremely important to Ben and me. This really helps minimize jealousy. We spend most of our free time together and try to be intentional about the quality of that time (e.g. putting our phones away and actually connecting). We've both acknowledged that if our foundation wasn't strong, we would probably feel more jealousy.

We shared a big laugh when we realized just how weird/unusual it is for a husband to comfort his wife about her breakup with a boyfriend.

Do you have ground rules? If so, what are they?

The biggest rule is communication - we try hard to balance respect for our other partners' privacy with open communication between the two of us. We are also always honest with the people we are dating. Everyone knows right off the bat that we are happily married, and thus not looking for a lifelong commitment. We also feel strongly about treating the people we date with respect and care (and expect to be treated the same). It makes me really happy (but also disappointed) that several of the women Ben has dated have said that he is the kindest, most respectful man they've been with.

This isn't a rule but more of a practice: we have not met one another's partners in the past. This might also help minimize jealousy. Not meeting one another's partners also allows each of us to have an identity outside of our marriage, which is nice. However, we're both open to meeting someone the other person is dating if they felt strongly about it.

Another big (and hopefully obvious) rule is condoms. We believe in safe sex for everyone, not just open couples!

Have you fallen in love with someone you've dated?

Yes - I've been in love with one other person. It was not the same as the deep love I feel for Ben, but it was fun and meaningful. Ben didn't feel threatened and was an amazing source of support when we eventually broke up. We shared a big laugh when we realized just how weird/unusual it is for a husband to comfort his wife about her breakup with a boyfriend. Ben hasn't fallen in love with anyone (he is a private person, and the women he is dating are not looking for serious relationships). If he did fall in love, I don't think it would bother me. We both feel strongly that our relationships with other people don't take away from how we feel about each other.

Do your friends or family know?

My sister (who is also my best friend) and her husband know, which is extremely helpful. Finally telling them was a massive relief. I felt like I was living a double life for a while there, which I hated. We've also told a few close friends, all of whom have been awesome and supportive. The idea of telling our parents makes us both want to poop our pants, and thus will never happen (nor does it need to). I'm not particularly close with the rest of my family, so there is really no need to tell them.

This past year, we've been trying to tell new friends early on, because it is much less awkward. This has been a great strategy! We tend to attract open-minded people into our lives, so no one has had a terrible response thus far.

What type of guys do you go for? Are they similar or different than your husband?

I tend to be attracted to older men, which is different from Ben (he is only a couple of months older than I am). My long-term boyfriend was hilariously similar to Ben in some ways (both surfers, they liked similar bands and movies, similar styles of dress, etc.).

What type of women does your husband go for? Are they similar to you or different?

Ben tends to go for women who are a bit more free-spirited than I am - which is fine by me! He can go camping with them while I enjoy the comfort of a real bed. The women he dates do tend to be intellectual like I am. They sound like awesome people who I could easily be friends with.

How has this arrangement helped your relationship?

I am 100 percent convinced that being in an open relationship has made our relationship better. We've honestly become closer through sharing our dating experiences with one another. We've always had an awesome sex life, and it's fun to be able to have sexual experiences outside of the relationship (it takes a lot of pressure for us to be all things for the other person).

Do you have kids or plan on having kids? How will this affect your decision to have an open relationship?

We're unsure about kids but would probably be monogamous during the baby phase (only because of time constraints). Our biggest commitment to one another is to keep talking honestly and continually reevaluating the structure of our relationship. Originally we weren't sure if we were going to be nonmonogamous for 10 minutes, or 10 years. It's all about making sure we're both happy. We're so grateful to have found one another and joke that we're two little aliens in love. We don't know if our relationship will always be open, but we do feel strongly that we'll be together.

35 Secrets to Marriage Success

For many married couples, falling in love and saying "I do" was the easy part. Living happily ever after is the part that takes a whole lot of work.

My family history doesn't have the best track record when it comes to the vow "until death do us part." My parents divorced when I was 18, and on my mom's side alone, not one single marriage has lasted (keep in mind, she's one of eight siblings). One might think this would make me a cynic when it comes to marriage - but for some unexplainable reason, that's not the case. Maybe I'm an idealist, but I think you can fall in love with your best friend, grow old together, and even live happily ever after.

I sought out some honest advice from real people who might have insight as to what makes a marriage stand the distance. I reached out to all the married couples and divorcées I knew and asked them the burning question, "What's the secret to making a marriage successful?" Read their words of wisdom below:

  1. Share everything with each other. Most importantly, everything you are feeling. There is no way to be on common ground if you don't communicate how you're feeling.
  2. Whatever bad stuff happens, remember this, too, will pass.
  3. Affection breeds more affection. Touch each other, kiss each other good morning, and have plenty of sex (even when you're old!). It's too easy to get out of the habit, which makes you feel distant. Intimacy and physical affection really help keep you connected.
  4. Children can be stressful, but they, too, will grow up.
  5. Let the little things go and think big picture. Since you're in it for the long haul, are you really going to care who did or didn't run the dishwasher when you look back in 10 years? Remind yourself that your relationship is much, much bigger than any one minor incident.
  6. Fill the fridge with his favorites - it's easy to do, so just do it.
  7. Take time for yourself to do what you love, what makes you happy and gives you energy - being successful as a couple will only work if each of you is strong and fulfilled as an individual.
  8. Avoid giving the silent treatment. Talk about things that bother you as soon as possible; don't let your emotions build up, because you'll likely explode.
  9. Let go of hurts more easily, and try not to dwell on things that annoy you.
  10. Don't be afraid to compromise. It sounds like a bad word and like you are giving up on your "ideals," but in reality it's about the push and pull of a relationship. Try rating how much you want something on a scale from one to 10 and have your partner do the same. So if eating out is a five for you and staying in is a nine for him, then you should stay in that night.
  11. Don't take each other for granted. You have to work at it all the time.
  12. Be spontaneous. Change things up every once in a while, whether that means a last-minute vacation or a card for no special occasion. Grand gifts and the smallest gestures can go a long way when you're with someone for a very long time.
  13. Be nice! This can be harder than it seems sometimes, but remember that you (hopefully) love the person more than anyone else on the planet and you chose to marry them, so treat them with kindness.
  14. Be patient. You both might grow together at different times and in different ways, so you need to give and take to make it last forever.
  15. Celebrate when good things happen, and be expressive about it.
  16. Find new things, new hobbies to do together like road biking, a cooking class, or starting a garden. It's just another reason to spend time together building your bond, and it keeps the excitement going.
  17. Marry someone you like killing time with.
  18. Tell them what you need. As much as you want them to, they can't read minds. Tell them that you feel disconnected and that you want a day alone together or date night.
  19. Speaking of date nights, go on them and have fun! It's important to set time alone regardless of how busy either gets - especially when you have kids. Even if you're overworked, overtired, or low on funds, it doesn't take much time or money to reconnect. It can be as simple as going for a walk or cooking dinner together.
  20. Make a budget together. It's a great way to talk about your plans and dreams for the future and how to make them happen.
  21. Surprise each other like you used to do when dating with special notes, small gifts, baking them a favorite recipe, or planning a weekend away. It lets the other person know you're still in love with them, and it makes you feel the love, too.
  22. On the other end, when your spouse does do something special for you, show appreciation. They may know that you think all those positive things, but it's nice to hear them out loud.
  23. Build your partner up and support them to be all they can or want to be.
  24. Take time to put yourself in your spouse's shoes before judging. You want to avoid unnecessary criticism or negativity as much as you can.
  25. Make each other laugh. Try not to take everything so seriously.
  26. Communication is key. When your marriage hits certain speed bumps, remind yourself that when you come out on the other side, your relationship should be better and more evolved. Make sure the tough times lead to improvement, and if you keep making the same mistakes, reevaluate why.
  27. Have couple friends but also your own friends who you hang out with on a regular basis, without your spouse.
  28. Be more generous with time and money.
  29. Be happy yourself. If you're in a slump, there's a tendency to take it out on your spouse or want them to fix it. You have to fix yourself.

Choosing a foundation that will conceal and, in an ideal world, heal can be seemingly impossible. To help save you from the slope-weather beauty scaries, we asked some of the industry's most coveted makeup artists (who are tasked with keeping their high-profile clients looking flawless all year long) to share some of their personal product picks for finally attaining a hydrated, protected Winter glow.

Donald Trump Decorates the White House Tree With "Loser" Ornaments In This SNL Skit

Saturday Night Live opened its final episode of 2017 by reflecting on all of the "haters and losers" President Donald Trump has written off this year. In a hilarious cold open, Alec Baldwin and Cecily Strong put on their best Donald and Melania act decorating their Christmas tree for the holidays, except instead of festive ornaments, Trump's "loser tree" was adorned with the faces of all the people who "tried to destroy" him throughout the year.

Among the long list of people who have quit or Trump has fired, first to go on the tree was FBI director James Comey, then Anthony Scaramucci, and Michael Flynn. Scarlett Johansson came back as Ivanka Trump bearing two special ornaments: Roy Moore and a Madball for Steve Bannon, because "his face wouldn't fit." But the best part was when Kate McKinnon showed up as an Elf on the Shelf version of Jeff Sessions, who "does not recall who's been naughty or nice." Classic.

We're About to Cry Just Looking at This Groom's Emotional Reaction to Seeing His Bride

Although Liz and Beau met at youth group in junior high, they didn't begin dating until later in life when they reconnected. On Feb. 13, after officially one year of dating, Beau took Liz to Yosemite to celebrate their anniversary. When they stopped to look at the water directly beneath them, he asked, "Are you ready?" Confused by the question, Liz asked, "For what?," and that's when Beau pulled out the ring to pop the question.

Six months later, the couple got married at a private residence in Modesto, CA, where they had an intimate outdoor reception. The groom was overcome with emotion when seeing his beautiful bride walk down the aisle. It was the sweetest reaction!

See their photos ahead.

OK, Zendaya and Tom Holland's Romance Is Pretty Darn Adorable

It looks like things may be getting serious between Zendaya and Tom Holland. The couple, who first struck up a romance after costarring in Spider-Man: Homecoming, just hit a major milestone in their relationship. According to Us Weekly, "Tom has met Zendaya's family and they love him." Even though the couple initially denied that they were dating earlier in the year, Tom recently stepped out to support Zendaya at the premiere of her movie, The Greatest Showman, and their previous outings pretty much speak for themselves. Whether they're battling it out on stage during Lip Sync Battle or they're just goofing off on the red carpet, it's obvious they share a special bond. They've even gone as far as sharing each others' clothes during the press tour. Take a look at Zendaya and Tom's cutest moments together.

If You Blink, You Might Miss This Celebrity Cameo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

When we heard rumors that Justin Theroux would appear in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we refused to get our hopes up. After all, we already had the introduction of adorable porgs - having The Leftovers star in the film seemed too good to be true! But after finally catching a screening of the eighth installment of the iconic sci-fi franchise, we're able to officially confirm that Theroux does appear in Star Wars . . . but if you blink (or take an ill-timed bathroom break), you just might miss him.

For those looking out for a Theroux sighting, we've got the scoop. The actor appears in a casino scene when Finn and his new companion, Rose, go hunting for a "slicer" who can help them hack a system inside a First Order ship. Since Theroux's character has more interest in gambling with beautiful women than helping "rebel scum," we only catch a short glimpse of him chatting with ladies at a game table, dressed in a flashy black-and-white outfit that would make residents of The Hunger Games Capitol proud. Thanks to a flamboyant mustache and those recognizable cheekbones, you should be able to spot Theroux when Finn (John Boyega) and Rose (Kelly Marie Tran) do - without the threat of First Order soldiers hunting you and your friends.

Now that you're equipped to spot your favorite HBO star in the film, read more about Benicio Del Toro's mysterious character, who is introduced soon after Theroux in the movie. Then, dive into the rest of our Star Wars coverage to prepare for your next viewing!

Jimmy Kimmel Slams Trump and the FCC on "Absolutely Despicable" Net Neutrality Repeal

Jimmy Kimmel is just one of the millions of people who are furious about the FCC's Dec. 14 decision to repeal net neutrality. But as he has the platform to do so, Kimmel took a moment during last night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live to make his voice heard and to completely slam the actions of Ajit Pai, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. "The FCC did something absolutely despicable today. They voted to put an end to net neutrality. This is the rule that says everyone gets equal access to the internet - a big company or somebody selling crocheted owls from their house in the Midwest," he said.

Naturally, he didn't stop there - he also made sure to "thank" Donald Trump, who designated Pai as chairman of the FCC in January. "Thank you, President Trump. Thanks to you and this jackhole you appointed to run the FCC, big corporations are about to take full control of the internet." Despite the fact that 83 percent of Americans support net neutrality, the vote to repeal it won with a 3-2 majority. And while Kimmel is one of the first public figures to voice his thoughts on the decision, it's likely we'll hear a whole lot more about this issue in the weeks and months to come.

Watch Kimmel's segment in full above, and head here for more information on how to join in the fight to save our free, open internet.

Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" Remix With Andrea Bocelli Is Straight Up Magic

Ed Sheeran continues to prove he can duet with literally anyone. The 26-year-old English crooner teamed up with world-renowned Italian classical tenor Andrea Bocelli for a "Perfect Symphony" that's just straight up magic to your ears. The latest remix comes after his "Perfect" duet with Queen Bey shot to number one on the Billboard charts earlier this week.

Sheeran teased his Bocelli collaboration on Instagram before its release, writing, "Orchestral version of 'Perfect' with the amazing Andrea Bocelli comes out Friday. Orchestrated and produced by my super talented brother Matt, little gift for you all before Christmas". Listen to it in full (and on repeat as much as you would like) ahead.

Riverdale: Let's Take a Minute to Freak the F*ck Out Over That Archie and Betty Moment

Warning: a cute little Riverdale spoiler below!

Is Riverdale trying to kill me? That is the sincere, if melodramatic, question I pose for The CW's teen mystery show following its wild midseason finale, "Chapter 22: Silent Night, Deadly Night."

For starters, the identity of the Black Hood is finally revealed, only to be the lame tertiary character of high school janitor Mr. Svenson (which has to be a red herring . . . right?). It's a deeply unsatisfying and nonsensical conclusion to the serial killer storyline, to say the least. But you know what? The big Svenson reveal was eclipsed by another important moment in the episode: Archie and Betty's kiss.

YES! Or no, depending on which couples you're rooting for.

That's right - the two best friends decided to cut the sexual tension brewing between them with a knife their lips following their respective breakups from Jughead and Veronica. For some fans, the moment comes at just the right time. For others, it's an unacceptable and brief bump in the road for the show's meant-to-be couple: Betty and Jughead (I see you and respect you, Bughead shippers).

Regardless of how you feel about Betty and Archie as a prospective couple, they share a Christmas kiss (sans mistletoe, mind you) in a car while on their mission to discover the Black Hood's true identity. The sweet moment comes after Archie gives his lifelong friend the most perfect and sentimental gift at Kevin's Secret Santa party (a Swiss Family Robinson read-along that the pair used to listen to as kids). With Jughead momentarily out of the picture, thanks to his and Betty's ongoing relationship strife due to his involvement with the Southside Serpents, this happens:

See what I mean? Riverdale is trying to KILL me. Fortunately for anyone worried about a romance blossoming between the two, Riverdale stars Lili Reinhart and KJ Apa dished about the moment to Entertainment Tonight, and it definitely seems like it was more platonic than some might realize.

"To me, it shows that there's just such a genuine friendship between them and they just know each other," Reinhart explained. "Even though you don't get to see every little detail of their past or their history, when she says that they listened to it when they were 5 years old, it just paints a picture for you of how long these people have been in one another's lives, and it's just really sweet."

Apa seemed to agree (which makes sense, seeing as it looks like Archie and Veronica patch things up), saying that Bughead shippers "might not be happy" but ultimately shouldn't freak out. "If they're confident Bughead fans, then they've got nothing to worry about."

Riverdale fans, naturally, had plenty to say about the moment on Twitter.

Roy Moore's Horse Inspired the Parody Twitter Account We Never Knew We Needed

On Dec. 12, as the controversial Alabama Senate seat showdown between Doug Jones and Roy Moore finally came to a head, Moore raised eyebrows (and greatly irked horse Twitter) by choosing to ride his horse Sassy to the local polling place instead of, say, walking - or driving a car. It's not the first time the then-candidate chose horseback riding as his main mode of transportation, but it's a choice that faced heavy scrutiny after several consecutive days of questionable decisions made on behalf of the Moore camp. In the three days prior to the election, his wife attempted to rebut a "fake news" claim that she didn't "care for Jews," the candidate himself attempted to bail out of campaigning by attending the Army-Navy Game in Philadelphia, and, most egregiously, a spokesman for the campaign said that homosexuality was "probably" illegal. In other words, the world was already watching. And what it saw was a man and his horse.

Moore would eventually lose the election, perhaps due to the myriad allegations of sexual misconduct and assault that were leveled against him, or perhaps as a karmic payback for awful statements that checker his past. But what will live on in infamy from Dec. 12 onward is the parody account that appeared on Twitter - one that, for all intents and purposes, purported to deliver the thoughts of Moore's horse Sassy.

Below, we've pulled some of the best tweets the account has unleashed so far. And even though the election is over, you can bet that we'll still be following this account for weeks to come - and not just because the account lists its current location as "Under Roy Moore, Alabama" (but let's be honest: we're definitely still laughing about it).

Essie's Latest Nail Polish Collection Was Made For Practicing Your Princess Wave

A fresh manicure can take your mood from zero to 100, but the latest nail polish colors from Essie will make you feel like a straight-up princess.

The brand is releasing six new Gel Couture shades ($12), all inspired by romance and royalty. Its enchanted new lineup features creamy, opaque hues that deliver salon-quality results at home. Just apply two coats of polish, finish with the Gel Couture top coat, and - voilà! - you'll have a magical, long-lasting mani.

While we love the longevity of Gel Couture polishes, the stunning colors are what have us hyped as hell. You can take a cue from Kate Middleton, Queen Elizabeth II, and Duchess-to-Be Meghan Markle and opt for a classic pink, like Matter of Fiction. But if you're fond of Cinderella's ballgown blue, metallics, and vampy hues, you'll also find a color in the new range that fits you like a crown.

Rita Remark, Essie's global lead educator, told us via email that she's personally smitten with Good Knight (blackened plum) and Princess Charming (neutral mauve-pink). "With another royal wedding around the corner, the timing [of this new collection] couldn't be more charmed!" she added. And Rita's right - we could totally see Meghan rocking a shade similar to Princess Charming down the aisle next Spring.

Luckily, you don't have to be an actual princess to get in on the magic. The entire collection is available to snag now on Amazon. Ahead, you can get a better look at each shade and see them swatched on different complexions. In the meantime, we'll be here practicing our royal waves before our next manicures.

Gingerbread Latte Hair Is the Sweetest Way to Be Holiday Ready

One of the most exciting parts of the Winter season is running to Starbucks to get our hands on the holiday drinks. One of our favorites is the spicy gingerbread latte. Turns out, the festive drink also happens to be excellent hair color inspiration.

Starting with a deep coffee-hued base and adding highlights of warm copper, this brunette hair color is a gorgeous choice for the Winter season. The lighter hues are reminiscent of adding milk into your latte and seeing the different shades of brown that appear in your red holiday cup. The drink itself is delicious, so you can't blame us for getting excited about this beauty inspiration.

Gingerbread latte hair is a gorgeous look for brunette gals who want a subtle change without dipping their strands in bleach. If you're tempted to try this out for yourself (as you should be!), keep scrolling for some gorgeous inspiration photos to show your stylist.

What I Learned From Not Wearing Makeup For 2 Months

I've had the travel bug for as long as I can remember; I just can't stay put for too long. Last year, before I'd even finished the last of my university work, I'd jetted off to the USA to stay with family for six weeks. From there, my boyfriend and I traveled around Southeast Asia, part backpacking, part nice (budget) holiday-ing. I'd managed to pack up my belongings in a bag of a similar size to the one I now carry to work every day. I'd also packed less makeup and skin care for the trip than I use in a single day at home.

I packed only six items: cleanser, exfoliator, moisturizer, SPF, shampoo, and mascara. That's it. I'd recently had an HD Brows treatment (which included tinting), so I didn't need to worry about them. I didn't even take conditioner or hair oil (though I later regretted this and bought some on my travels). To say I packed light is an understatement.

Over the first few days, I missed my acid toner, mists, and array of concealers to rid my blemishes and dark circles. But surprisingly, after the initial shock of only having minimal products, I actually forgot about my lack of beauty products and didn't miss having those extra steps in my day.

Although I've been blessed with a quite a good complexion, I still have my skin hangups. Right now I could tell you exactly where all my skin concerns are (two spots by my nose, a scar on my left jaw, and a weird blackhead on my left cheek). I stare at them every time I do my skincare routine, wishing them away. But I actually can't tell you if my skin was particularly good or bad when I was traveling, because I didn't notice it, nor did I care. I didn't have the time (nor energy) for a 15-minute skincare routine, which is one of my favorite things at home.

My skin has definitely benefited from using an array of products, and I don't think I could ever have such a minimal routine long term. However, I have learned that giving my skin a break also gave me a break from obsessing over every blemish and imperfection. It also made me appreciate makeup. When I did decide to wear a slick of mascara once or twice in the evening, I felt great - like really great. I was amazed what such a tiny amount of product could do as a confidence booster. Never underestimate the power of mascara!

Now, I'm not saying that you shouldn't ever think about skin care again. Although there is more to life than beauty products, I strive for perfect skin and I really enjoy trying different products to find what works for me. But, there are no benefits to scrutinizing your every blemish in the mirror twice (or more) a day, because it probably isn't doing you or your skin any good. Sometimes, the basics are all you need. Embrace your natural beauty and enjoy those no-makeup moments as much as the makeup moments.

Gigi Hadid Flaunts Her Armpit Hair as a Boxing Badass For Love Magazine

On day 11 of Love magazine's annual Advent calendar, Gigi Hadid went where no model has ever gone before for the calendar and rocked unshaven armpits. While this year we've seen models break out their strongest moves for the fitness-themed videos, Gigi's body hair has added to the empowering narrative of the videos. While Gigi flaunted her best boxing and volleyball moves, it was her underarms that had people talking.

Some comments have commended her choice to go natural, with one Instagram user writing, "ARMPIT HAIR YASSSSSSSSSS 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏," but as expected, others felt differently, writing, "ewwwwwwww" and "I'm shook." For a video concept that is known for its unparalleled sexiness, it's great to see Gigi's natural body hair being embraced and talked about. It's obvious that there is some sweatshirt fuzz as well stuck to Gigi's underarms, but regardless, it's a different side to the perfectly edited videos of the past and an exciting step for embracing body hair like it's NBD - because it isn't!

Gabrielle Union Recalls the "Bullsh*t" Time Her Twists Were Called "Unprofessional"

Whether she's rocking braids, twists, a ponytail, blond highlights, long extensions, or her gorgeous natural hair, Gabrielle Union is constantly inspiring women with her array of looks. But, even as a successful actress and businesswoman (she created her own haircare line, Flawless), Gabrielle has faced scrutiny over her hairstyles being accepted as "professional." In a recent interview with Byrdie, she opened up about her experience as a woman of color in entertainment and society's beauty standards.

"There's a larger conversation with people of color when it comes to our hair and our skin color," Gabrielle said. "People will try to lighten our skin tones and alter our hair, which says a lot of about how we feel about ourselves versus how other people feel about our blackness and textured hair. We need to showcase the fullness of our beauty."

In a role where she was playing a "professional woman," Gabrielle wanted to wear twists, and producers dismissed her saying the style wasn't "professional" or "polished," but Gabrielle wasn't letting this one go.

"I was doing a project and with the character the producers were coming up with what they wanted to do for her hair," she recalled. "And they were like, 'She's beautiful, sophisticated, and professional.' I was like, 'Well, I want to wear braids.' And and they were like, 'Well, I mean, she's beautiful, sophisticated, and corporate America.' I responded, 'Yes, and specifically I want twists.' And they went on to say, 'We just really want her to look more polished.' I said, 'You all really don't understand what are we talking about here?'"

She continued, "The idea that how you wear your hair somehow relates to your character, your intelligence, or your wokeness is bullsh*t."

In an essay she wrote for Glamour earlier this year, Gabrielle got real about her struggle to embrace her natural hair at an early age. After 20 years of her hair "being used and abused," she knows what makes her happy. "I've finally gotten to a place of self-acceptance and recognizing that my natural hair is beautiful - and so is whatever weave I may wear," she wrote. "I'm perfectly happy rocking an Afro puff, my French braids, Senegalese twists, a faux-hawk, or an ombré wig, or heat-styling my natural hair with extensions . . . and that makes me a happy person in my life."
