Is Selena Gomez Trying to Send Justin Bieber a Message With Her Denim Jacket? You Decide
There's nothing more classic than a denim jacket. Selena Gomez gave the denim-on-denim look a try while out and about in Los Angeles. Ironically enough, Selena's Levi's denim jacket is actually called the "Ex-Boyfriend Jacket." While we're not sure if she was trying to send a message or if it was a mere coincidence, we were definitely intrigued. These Abandoned Disney Park Photos Look Like Scenes From a Postapocalyptic World
When we think of Disney World, "creepy" doesn't usually come to mind. But photos of Walt Disney World's first water park, called Disney's River Country, are making us rethink just how sugary sweet all things Disney-related really are. The park, now abandoned, opened in 1976 and closed up shop 25 years later. Just last year, a pool within the park was filled with concrete.
Photojournalist Seph Lawless, who explores eerie abandoned locations all over the country, captured images inside the Orlando park, from vine-covered bridges to overgrown trees and mud-laden former water slides. Admidst the ruins, you can still imagine the former glory of the park, but that glory has long since been lost.
Lawless included the Disney park's images in his book, Abandoned: Hauntingly Beautiful Deserted Theme Parks. Take a look at the apocalypse-like scene at Disney World's first water park ahead, and follow Seph's work on his Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
9 Ways You Can Go on a Cruise While Barely Spending a Dime on Board
Cruises are a great travel option for several reasons: they're mostly all-inclusive, you're able to hit multiple ports on a single trip, and they give you more bang for your buck overall. On top of many being fairly affordable to begin with, there are more ways you can save money once you're on board. And if you stick to what's included in your boarding pass, it's possible to avoid spending all together once you're sailing. Here are nine ways you can cruise on a tight budget.
- Bring your own wine and soda. Most cruises allow guests to bring up to one bottle of wine or champagne on board. I suggest enjoying it in your cabin rather than bringing it to the dining room to avoid corkage fees. You also have the option of bringing up to 12 sealed cans of soda in your carry-on to drink throughout your sail, since soft drinks are often an additional cost.
- Fill up on all the pizza and ice cream. Take full advantage of the 24-hour soft serve machines and complimentary pizza served on your ship. Your midnight snack and daily dessert are already covered right there.
- Unplug. Unless you're planning to get some work done, consider disconnecting for the duration of your sail. Not only is WiFi pricey, but it's also not as fast as you're used to while you're out in the middle of the ocean.
- Know what your ship offers for free. Your boarding pass usually includes free meals at the buffet, meals in the dining room, certain room service items, and free slices at the pizzeria and complimentary soft serve ice cream on some ships. However, all it takes is a little extra digging to see what else is available for no additional cost.
- Keep alcohol to a minimum. Alcohol is not included in your stay and this is where many guests end up splurging the most. All those cocktails can really add up by the end of the week, so consider signing up for an unlimited drinks package if a sober sail is out of the question. I recommend pre-purchasing your package before your sail date since it's typically cheaper than when you buy on board. And that way, you can start getting your money's worth ASAP.
- Pack buffet food on port days. Before disembarking at your destination, fill up on breakfast at the buffet and bring some bites for the road. Bananas, muffins, and mini boxes of cereal are great to snack on while exploring.
- Explore on your own instead of booking an excursion. Excursions can cost you around $50 to $150 per person. Not only does a DIY adventure save you major cash, but you'll also be able to avoid having to stick with a large group. Do some port research beforehand and pick your own activities.
- Save unfinished wine for the next night. If you order a bottle of wine at dinner and don't end up drinking it all, ask your waiter to cork it for when you return. They'll write your name on it and have it ready for you the next evening.
- Control yourself at the casino. One of my personal favorite cruise features is the casino (depending on the cruise), but that's also where most of my cash ends up. If you can, avoid it all together or set a strict spending limit at the very least.
49 International Disney Park Differences Only Hardcore Fans Will Notice
If you're a Disney fan, you've undoubtedly made the pilgrimage to Disneyland or Walt Disney World at some point in your life. Upon opening Disneyland (the original Disney park in Anaheim, CA) in 1955, the wildly successful mass-media corporation became a staple in more than just family movies - its theme park topped the bucket lists of travelers worldwide. Disney mania couldn't be contained when parks eventually opened in Florida, Japan, France, and Hong Kong. Today, there is construction on a sixth park: Shanghai Disney. While every Disney park maintains a similar atmosphere, the magic feeling at each location is totally unique. Take a look at the features that make each Disney resort special, and then decide for yourself which is truly the "happiest place on earth."

Melania Trump's 10 Most Expensive Looks That Everybody Still Talks About
Melania Trump's outfits are often packed with controversy, and sometimes the buzz builds around the price tag. The FLOTUS is responsible for financing her own wardrobe, which she often curates with the help of stylist Hervé Pierre. While many first ladies have been prone to criticism about their way of dress, it's possible Melania doesn't mind the attention. This we can insinuate by her willingness to wear neon pink, rainbow python stilettos, and, yup, a 3D floral coat that cost $51,000. Ahead, we've broken down Melania's 10 most expensive looks that were widely discussed, building up to the priciest item one by one.

Victoria Beckham's Dress Will Confuse the Hell Out of You, and You'll Totally Love It
Victoria Beckham has a knack for creating fluid dress silhouettes that seem complicated at first glance. But this tan pleated number she sported in Paris is actually quite simple. The buttons that run down the bodice lend the look professional flair, though Victoria bared a hint of her bra for a sexy touch. The folded skirt is just a fabric overlay, which mutes the effect of the design's pleating. Yup, this is a breezy Spring dress through and through, but it's got Victoria's posh signature on it, and no one quite masters the style like the designer herself.
Victoria amped up her outfit with green accents, from her olive boots and purse to the emerald stones in her ears. She wore her sunglasses as per usual, a silver watch and delicate necklace providing the finishing touch. Read on to see all angles of this very elegant, completely exciting midi, check out a variation of the piece on the Fall 2018 runway, then shop the closest cuts we could find to impress them all.
This Bride's Royal Wedding Dress Is Something Straight Out of a Fairy Tale Book
Alessandra de Osma's wedding was something right out of fairy tale book. The lawyer and former model tied the knot with Prince Christian of Hanover in a lavish wedding. The beautiful ceremony took place in the bride's native country of Peru, which is where the couple first met back in 2005. Guests included royals such as Princess Beatrice, Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece, and even British supermodel Kate Moss.
For her big day, Alessandra wore a stunning high-neck gown by Jorge Vázquez. Her gorgeous gown featured delicate lace sleeves and a long train. She finished her bridal look off with an equally long veil and, of course, a diamond tiara worthy of a princess. Keep reading to have a look at the bride's stunning dress as well as pictures from the beautiful wedding ahead.
You'll Never Want to Get Off the Pot Once You Try This Heated Toilet Seat From Amazon
My apartment doesn't have a heater, so needless to say, my morning bathroom stop is pretty chilly. Recently, my toilet seat was in desperate need of a replacement, so my roommates and I decided check out our options on Amazon and discovered this Brondell LumaWarm Heated Nightlight Toilet Seat ($109). We were so excited about the idea of being able to afford what felt like a luxury item, so, without hesitation, we ordered it.
It comes in two sizes, elongated and round, which was a foreign concept to me, but after a quick Google search, I learned that toilets are, in fact, made in two different shapes and you can figure out which one you have by measuring the length of your current seat.
We were excited when it arrived within just a few days, and it was easy to install - all we needed was a screwdriver. In order for it to work, we made sure we had an outlet close to the toilet because it is powered by plugging into the wall. It features three different heat settings and even a blue nightlight.
We instantly fell in love with it. Sitting on a regular toilet just doesn't feel the same anymore. The price tag was totally worth it.
Enabling This Feature on Your Amazon Echo Device Could Save Your Life
Alexa is capable of many things, including helping you with your fitness goals and getting you more organized, but there is one thing she can't do. She cannot call 911 for you in the case of an emergency. You can only communicate with those in your contacts who have their own Amazon Echo device or via the Alexa app.
However, there is a potentially life-saving skill that every Echo-device owner should enable ASAP: Ask My Buddy. Ask My Buddy is a free service on Amazon Echo and Google Home platforms that can alert anyone in your Personal Alert Network any time you need help. If your phone is out of reach and you need urgent assistance, simply say "Alexa (or "Hey Google"), Ask My Buddy to alert James," "Alexa, Ask My Buddy to send help," or "Alexa, Ask My Buddy to alert everyone." Alexa will then immediately send a text, email, and even voice call to your contact or everyone on your list alerting them to check on you right away.
This feature is a great backup for seniors, people with disabilities, and individuals who live alone. To get started, pull up your Alexa app and tap on "Skills" in the menu drop down. Search "Ask My Buddy" and enable. You will then be redirected to Ask My Buddy's site to create an account and add up to five contacts to your Personal Alert Network.
Though Ask My Buddy is not a substitute for 911, it can give you peace of mind knowing that help is nearby. You never know when you'll need it!
We've Got News That'll Make '90s Kids Want to Wag Their Tails - Blue's Clues Is Coming Back!
"Here's the mail, it never fails, it makes me wanna wag my tail. When it comes I wanna wail, 'MAILLLLLLLLLL!'" Well, have we got some mail for you, friends: beloved children's show Blue's Clues is officially getting the reboot treatment at Nickelodeon. That means that millennial parents will be able to share the '90s classic that they loved growing up with a whole new generation of little ones, just with a fresh twist.
There's no word yet about who will fill the shoes - err, green striped shirt - of memorable former host Steve (sorry, Joe!), but Deadline reports that casting will begin for the role in mid-April. And it's not just the host that will change in the reboot, either. Viacom's Nickelodeon Group president, Cyma Zarghami, told the publication:
"The new, modern version of Blue's Clues will capture all the original's creativity and visual identity for a whole new audience ready for its fun adventures and expertly designed problem-solving curriculum."
Essentially, there will be nostalgic elements of the '90s show that return in the new series, but it will be reinterpreted for today's kids. Does that mean Blue will bid adieu to mail time and have a new method of communication that will make her want to wag her tail? We'll know soon enough!

The 10 Best Places to Go For Moms Who Want to Vacation All by Themselves
I was kayaking around Anacapa Island off the coast of Ventura, CA. The setting was stunning, but I was more focused on what - or rather, who - wasn't there: my 2-year-old daughter, Lucy, who was over 3,000 miles away in New Jersey with her babysitter. I felt guilty when I initially decided to go on the trip, but there was no way I could say no. I had always wanted to visit, and while the islands are family friendly, I knew Lucy wouldn't be up for things like hiking or kayaking. Besides, I didn't want to take the trip for her. I wanted to take the trip for myself.
I'm a single mom, and I don't have family nearby. That meant I needed to hire a babysitter for three days. I went back and forth about going a ridiculous number of times, but as I sat on the water, the waves lapping at my kayak, I was so thankful. Sure, I missed Lucy, but I hadn't realized how much I had missed myself. I hadn't kayaked since well before she was born, even though I used to lead kayak expeditions when I was in college. I had missed allowing my thoughts to unfold without interruption. I had missed letting myself set the schedule.
When I came back, I felt happy to see Lucy and happy in my own skin. I felt more energized, more relaxed, and absolutely certain that a solo mom trip isn't bad - it's wonderful. To be totally honestly, I think that alone time made me a better parent. It made me more aware of my own needs, more appreciative of the bond Lucy and I have, and thankful that the "old" me is still there. And I can't wait to plan another trip, so if you're also in need of a little getaway, keep reading for 10 of the best places you can travel to - all by yourself.
Anderson Cooper Interviews Rex Tillerson and Anthony Scaramucci in This Hilarious SNL Skit
Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, and John Goodman took over Saturday Night Live's cold open with a hilarious skit that might piss off President Trump. Hader, who hosted SNL this week, reprised his role as the ousted White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, while Armisen returned as Michael Wolff, author of the scathing book Fire and Fury, which Trump's lawyers reportedly tried to halt from going public.
Goodman also reprised his role as the recently fired secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, for a sit-down interview with Anderson Cooper (Alex Moffat). With a bunch of legends in one setting, it all makes for comedic gold. Watch the six-minute cold open above and prepare to laugh until it hurts.

A Thank You Letter to Betsy DeVos From a Public School Teacher
Thank you, Betsy.
That sounds strange coming from a public school teacher of 15 years. Indeed, after a day of teaching fourth graders, who are diverse in every way and whose future is now in your control, saying thank you is the last thing I thought I'd say today. But thanks. On Feb. 7, 50 Republican senators voted for you, you who would not have made the cut to be hired as a tutor for their own children. Thank you, Betsy, for showing me money has power, but not over all.
I don't know if I feel worse for the senators who sold out because of the money you gave them or for the ones who sold out for free. But not everybody let their vote be bought, and that gives me hope.
Thanks, Betsy, for by showing me my fears, you clarified my beliefs. Yes, you inspire a lot of fears in me . . . will class size grow? Will Title I be cut? Will English For Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) services disappear? Will special education be decimated? How will my job change? Will my students have the same opportunities for college as my generation?
Through clarifying my beliefs, you triggered my actions. Thank you for giving me more solidarity with my co-workers, friends, family, and world. In our mutual sorrow at your lack of credentials, we came together. On Tuesday, I did not eat while grading papers or planning lessons. I sat with my co-workers as we mourned the loss of our voice. During the fight to block your confirmation, so many teachers, students, and parents spoke up while calls and letters to senators were ignored and protests delegitimized.
My union never lit a fire beneath me - but you did. Thank you.
Thank you, Betsy, for inflaming my disappointment in our government. Mr. Rogers taught us to look for the helpers in any time of darkness. But it was you who made it dark enough for me to look.
I watched hours of CSPAN listening to thoughtful testimony of so many education advocates and became obsessed with ordering a bound copy of Monday night's incredible congressional record. I have never before felt so political or so united behind my party. Now I want to donate money, support the candidates I believe in, organize . . . the sky is the limit. My union never taught me this, never lit a fire beneath me - but you did. Thank you.
More than anything, I want to teach. I want to continue to teach my fourth graders that citizenship means respect for all and a responsibility for each other, to read critically, to value being informed. I want to teach them that a million small efforts will eventually be more powerful than one large campaign check. And I want to teach them that America will always return to freedom, no matter how much corruption tries to reign.
So, thank you, and good luck to you. You have no clue what you just signed up for.

This Cruise Sails to All 7 Continents, but the Cost Will Make Your Jaw Drop
While the idea of traveling to Antarctica may have always seemed just a tad unattainable to you, Silversea Cruise Company will make you believe otherwise. The cruise company is launching a 2020 "Legends of Cruising: World Cruise" sailing that is unlike any before it, taking travelers "on a journey that lets you set foot on all seven continents."
The itinerary includes 140 days of travel, 52 ports, nine routes, and a total of 32 countries. It's the first cruise package ever to offer such an expedition, and guests will sail in (extreme) luxury aboard the company's ship Silver Whisper.
The trip departs Ft. Lauderdale, FL, on Jan. 6, 2020, and includes stops in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Valparaiso, Chile; Tahiti; Fiji; Sydney, Australia; Singapore; Mumbai, India; Thailand; Jordan; Egypt; Rome; Dublin, Ireland; and Amsterdam, Netherlands - to name just a few. Perhaps most notable of all, of course, is that the cruise makes a stop at the Antarctic Peninsula.
But - and you knew there was a major "but" coming - this once-in-a-lifetime excursion might be more like a "never-in-a-lifetime" one considering the steep cost to set sail. The package includes round-trip business-class airfare, a $2,000 on-board spending credit per person, a Visa package, laundry services, unlimited WiFi, Bespoke Silversea experiences, and more. And the price? Well, prepare to shell out a lot of your hard-earned cash, because fares start at $62,000 per guest and only go up from there. But you know what? There's nothing wrong with dreaming about an epic adventure that spans across the world - one that's undoubtedly full of unforgettable experiences!
The 6 Most Effective Exercises to Get Your Body Ready For Spring
The weather is starting to get a little sweeter, and we're excited to welcome in the warmth. With the higher temperatures and extra sunshine come all our favorite parts of Spring - putting on shorts and tank tops for the first time, outdoor workouts, and planning out our Summer vacations. If you're looking for some new ways to get in shape in time for all the seasonal festivities, we highly recommend adding the following exercises into your routine. Each of them has been approved and recommended by a trainer, and they promise you'll get the results you're searching for if you put in the work.
Hip Thrust
People oftentimes mistake the squat as the absolute best exercise to grow your booty, but the hip thrust is actually a much smarter option if you want to strengthen your glutes and perk up your derrière. So if your wish is a plumper butt as we move into Spring, start doing more hip thrusts.
Jason Walsh, the celebrity trainer who helped sculpt Jessica Biel, Emma Stone, and Alison Brie, told POPSUGAR that hip thrusts "really isolate" the glutes, and they're one of his go-to exercises to help women strengthen their backsides. Dee Gautham, NASM-certified trainer and NPC bikini bodybuilding competitor, agrees that the hip thrust is the queen of glute exercises. Make sure you're also tacking on weight, because doing hip thrusts with just your bodyweight won't get you major results.
Bulgarian Split Squat
"Single-leg squats are [one] of the best exercises," Jason told POPSUGAR. He particularly loves the Bulgarian split squat and works on this movement a lot with Jessica Biel. It primarily targets your glutes, and you'll also feel this in your quads. All in all, it's the ultimate exercise to help you feel confident in your short shorts. Here's a step-by-step guide if you need a refresher.
Push-Up
Don't make the mistake of overlooking this classic exercise. "I see so many people, women especially, shy away from push-ups," Beachbody Super Trainer Joel Freeman told POPSUGAR. Most ladies say they just want to "work their legs, their booty, and their core." But Joel says, "You have to work everything, and you have to be strong!"
Here are 16 essential push-up variations if you need some inspiration.
Burpee Row
Jillian Michaels told us she's a huge fan of full-body exercises "that are explosive and incorporate multiple muscle groups," which is why the burpee row is one of her personal favorites. It's definitely a tough one, but all it takes is a little practice for you to master it. Here's a guide on how to do it.
Dumbbell Thruster
Get ready to work just about every part of your body with the dumbbell thruster, which is essentially a squat into a shoulder press. Jillian Michaels loves this full-body exercise because "you get the best burn possible and work as many muscle groups as possible." If you don't feel like using dumbbells, you can also use a barbell or kettlebells. You'll love how strong your body feels after you master this move.
Glute Bridge
"You want a good butt? Glute bridge," Beachbody Super Trainer Autumn Calabrese told POPSUGAR. "Put a barbell across your hips or put two dumbbells on your hips if you want to add weight to grow [your butt], but you have to get into hip extension in order to get that muscle firing." There are all kinds of variations of glute bridges you can do, from single-leg variations to marching bridge, just in time for the skirts and dresses waiting to be worn in the Spring.

Cardio or Strength Training When You're Short on Time? Jessica Biel's Trainer Answers
You've been so busy, you can barely find the time to eat. We get it. But if you have even 15 or 20 minutes to spare, that's plenty of time to squeeze in a solid workout. Don't believe us? Take it from Jason Walsh, founder of Rise Nation and trainer who has worked with Jessica Biel, Mandy Moore, and Emma Stone.
We asked Jason what the best thing is to do when you're short on time - cardio or strength training? "I think you can do a combination of both," he told POPSUGAR. "It doesn't have to be separate. Sometimes I'm very limited in time, so I put together a circuit. You start with something that's more weight-bearing, and then you pick three, four, or five exercises and run through those."
Jason said he'll often choose a couple lower-body exercises, a pushing exercise, and a pulling exercise. Here are a few examples he gave us: lunges, Swiss ball leg curls, hip thrusts, push-ups, and rows on the TRX. You can do 10-12 reps of each exercise, and "then take a minute rest in between sets," Jason recommended. It's probably a good idea to do three or four sets in total, depending on what kind of time you have on you hands. "And if you're doing lunges, do it with weight," he added. "I guarantee you will get stronger, and your heart rate's going to go up." We believe you, Jason.
This kind of circuit gets you sweating and "probably burning fat," and Jason says you'll also "work on the conditioning and the cardiovascular system." In fact, he says this formula is "the idea behind doing a 30-minute class at Rise Nation, because time is the biggest commodity right now."
Not Gonna Lie, This 20-Minute Full-Body TRX Circuit Is Going to Kick Your Ass
Welcome to the "TRX full-body circuit party!" This badass gym workout was brought to you by Michelle Opperman, regional group fitness director for Crunch Gyms in San Francisco.
"The TRX is an amazing tool that leverages gravity and your own body weight to perform exercises that can be made easier or harder by simply moving closer or farther away from the anchor point," Michelle told POPSUGAR. "Please make sure to always focus on proper alignment, along with keeping the straps at tension to get the most out of each exercise."
Now, for the workout! "This 20-minute workout will rock your entire body and is done in five circuits," she said. "The first three focus on full-body strength and cardio, while the last two target your core. All moves are done for 30 seconds followed by a 10 second recovery (use an app timer, phone, or watch). Repeat each circuit for a total of two rounds. Try to go even harder during the second round to push the intensity and get the maximum burn."
Michelle included four warmup exercises before you actually get into the circuits. Don't skip out on them! They'll prepare your body for what's ahead. Once you get started with the meat of your workout, you repeat each circuit twice before moving onto the next one. Descriptions for each movement are ahead.
Let's do this!

What do you have to do? Lift heavy weights to create lean muscle and lift light weights to promote fat loss. The best part? You can be in and out of the gym in less than 30 minutes each day. Here's how!
Should You Run Before You Lift?
The heavy and light strength-training plan combines a couple of the most fundamental principles of lifting weights. The intention is to do an exercise for four sets with a heavy weight and low reps (up to six) and then another exercise that targets the same muscle for four more sets with higher reps (up to 12), but with a lighter weight. According to personal trainer Brian Pankau, CPT, you need to take "two to three minutes of rest between heavy [sets], and 45 to 60 seconds between lighter sets."
How does this plan work? When you lift heavy weights your muscles fatigue and ultimately grow (you won't look like a bodybuilder - we promise). From there, you work the same muscles with lighter weights to totally exhaust them, which burns more calories, creates a leaner body composition, and increases endurance. Muscles grow, body fat decreases, and you're only doing two exercises per body part. According to Anthony J. Yeung, CSCS, with this plan, "you'll burn more calories, shed fat, add more strength, and feel more energetic in daily life."
As a result of this significant caloric depletion, certified personal trainer and owner of HitchFit.com Micah Lacerte cautions that, "Nutrition will play a big role in what sort of results someone will get performing this plan, but if they are on [the proper type of diet], then this style of training will be excellent for building lean muscle." You have to make the effort to eat six small meals each day that all include some form of protein - with specific care to ensure you're getting protein before and after you work out.
While this plan can definitely work, it may not be for everyone. Pankau believes that while "fat loss is going to occur, [it may] not be fast enough for somebody with too much excess fat, so this plan is great for light and medium builds, but not really meant for heavier-set people."
What does this mean for you? For tight and toned triceps, a good combo would be overhead triceps extensions with a heavy weight and triceps kickbacks with lighter weights. For leaner, more sculpted legs, do leg presses with a heavy weight, and lunges with light dumbbells at your sides, or no added weights at all! For stronger, tighter biceps, heavy hammer curls and light preacher curls. The key is to do two moves per body part, one heavy, one light as described above. This will exhaust your muscles, promoting growth while leaning out your body. If you're in average shape, you can look way above average in less time. If you're in good shape, you may want to move to a beachfront property soon. Enjoy!

Meet the Buzzy Nondairy Milk You Probably Didn't Know Existed
You may have heard of plant-based milks before, as there are a million different types on the market, and they're great alternatives for those who don't tolerate cow's milk or lactose. Yet they're also a great option for people looking to cut back on dairy or get a nutrient-dense, protein-packed milk with a distinct taste and flavor. Soy milk and almond milk have been around for a while now, but new milks, like oat milk and pea milk, are on the rise. Instead of scratching your head, pour a glass and try it for yourself. Oat milk is basically just water and oats, blended and drained, to get rid of chunky oat parts that wouldn't taste great in your glass of milk. It's also better for the environment, as nut milks can be more expensive and taxing on resources. Who knows, you may have just found your new favorite milk to go with your morning bowl of Cheerios or cup of coffee.
28 Ingenious Uses For Coconut Milk
What's on the Label
Oat milk is actually pretty good for you. A one-cup serving of plain oat milk (get unsweetened varieties to cut back on sugar) clocks in at 130 calories, 2.5 grams of fat, 24 grams of carbs, two grams of fiber, 19 grams of sugars, four grams of protein, and 350 mg of calcium. Compared to other milks, it is higher in carbohydrate and sugar count, but it's richest in calcium, so it could be a good option for those especially needing to strengthen their bones. For instance, soy milk offers only 300 mg of calcium, so it's a bit lower.
How Do You Use It?
This nondairy milk, which is a bit thinner than standard almond milk, works well in coffee, as its texture gives a frothy feel on the tongue. You can also use oat milk for oats, in oatmeal and cereals. Plus, it's also gluten-free, so you're good to go if you have celiac disease. However, be mindful of store-bought versions, as some can be contaminated with gluten from the manufacturing process. You can try making your own, or just make sure the brand you choose is reputable first.
I Did a 2-Minute Plank Every Day For 2 Weeks - Here's What Happened
When my team at POPSGUAR asked who wanted to try a plank challenge, my hand shot up. But back in my day (lol) when I was in college, a "plank challenge" consisted of taking photos of yourself lying face down, stiff as a board, somewhere crazy (it was a weird internet thing in the late 2000s). It was fun! This recent plank challenge however, was . . . not as fun.
I decided on challenging myself to hold a two-minute plank daily for 14 days to see if I'd notice any physical or mental differences by the end. While I was definitely feeling some toned and strong abdominal muscles, my biggest takeaway was about setting goals. Here are some things to expect on your own plank challenge.
You Can Customize It
Tip number one for this challenge: you can make it your own. I set mine to be a two-minute challenge because it felt like something I could do every day. Hard, but not so bad that I couldn't complete other workouts.
Additionally, pick a position that feels just challenging enough for your body and still accommodates for any discomfort or injury. I began this challenge in a high plank (top of a push-up), but a few days in, I decided it wasn't challenging enough, so I lowered myself on down to an elbow plank and finally felt a little bit of muscle shaking (woo!).
It Doesn't Get Easier
In two weeks time, doing a two-minute plank daily did not become a breeze. I had anticipated that a plank would feel like a cakewalk by the end of day 14, but alas . . . it was just as challenging as day 10, day four, etc.
You'll Feel Stronger in Other Workouts
One thing that I appreciated was the abdominal activation that ended up happening in my other workouts. I became acutely aware of my core and how I was using it in everything from strength training to SoulCycle. I did end up feeling like I had a stronger base from which to work off of - and since you use your core in basically everything, this was a nice little benefit of the plank challenge.
Feeling good about my strength and muscle from these planks!
You'll Want to Set an Alarm
I found that to keep myself consistent, it was important to set a reminder on my calendar. This ensured that I got it done every day and stayed on top of my small goal.
Two Minutes Is More Powerful Than You'd Think
One great thing I learned from this little experiment is that every minute in your day can be used for something powerful. How are you maximizing your day? What are you using each minute and each moment for? What are you wasting time on? Even a minute here or there dedicated to something that doesn't serve you can add up over time and deplete your emotional and physical energy. Channel your minutes into something that serves you.
You'll Learn the Importance of Setting Small Goals
If you're anything like me, you set BIG goals for yourself and often overlook the value of smaller ones. This was a lesson in not taking those smaller goals for granted and not undervaluing the power of adding something like this to your routine. If I can do a two-minute plank every day, what else can I do? Can I add two minutes of meditation every day? Maybe I could add one more strength-training move!
This small bit of goal setting reminded me of my recent conversation with celeb trainer and Revenge Body star Latreal Mitchell. "Limit yourself, and set realistic goals," she told me. "Set a goal for yourself that every day for one week, you're going to wake up early enough to eat breakfast." She noted that this was essentially the key to weight-loss success, but it didn't really hit home for me until I experienced my own minivictory.
This Viral Video Shows the Ridiculous Way 4 Teens Removed a Rat From Their House
What should you do if you discover a rat in your house? Record it for social media, of course. At least that's what these four college students from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh thought to do once they came up with a "ridiculous" plan to get the pesky rodent out of their bathroom.
We came up with this ridiculous plan to get this rat out of our house and IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!!! BYE BITCH pic.twitter.com/c5qW76mzP8
- Jody Mackin (@jodeball4REALZ) February 17, 2017
In the seven-second clip uploaded by Twitter user Jody Mackin, the clever group of girls set up a blockade near the bathroom's exit using a mop bucket. Once the large rat came running out of the bathroom, one girl knocked it down a flight of steps using a mop. At landing, the rat attempted to make a getaway back into the house before another girl swiftly sent it flying out onto the street using a broom. Mackin's tweet now has more than 104,000 retweets and over 184,000 "likes" on Twitter at press time.
Many Twitter users shared their reactions to the insane video, with some empathizing with the rat:
@jodeball4REALZ it's so sad watching him flop down the stairs 😭

This Optical Illusion Is Making Us Question Our Eyesight
A bizarre and maddening optical illusion recently went viral on Twitter and has left people (ourselves included) booking appointments with their optometrists. Twitter user Will Kerslake first shared the illusion on Sept. 11. The picture features a repeated gray pattern and 12 black dots strategically placed throughout the grid. If you look at the design, however, it's practically impossible to see all of the dots at once, as your eyes will only pick up a few at a time. Pretty frustrating, right? Try it for yourself below.
There are twelve black dots at the intersections in this image. Your brain won't let you see them all at once. pic.twitter.com/ig6P980LOT
- Will Kerslake (@wkerslake) September 11, 2016
The illusion is referred to as Ninio's extinction illusion, named after French scientist Jacques Ninio. This is how it works: the eye is stimulated by a few of the dots in clusters at a time and effectively ignores the rest. So if your eye is focusing on the top right corner, you'll see the dots and the rest of the image will appear to be homogeneous, like an uninterrupted continuation of the gray lines.
Naturally, the internet is freaking out. Look ahead for some choice reactions.
@wkerslake @GWillowWilson I can see two and I SWEAR I can see the others running away from me.
- Kate (@mscogsworthy) September 11, 2016
@wkerslake This is so cool. I had to make the pic bigger to see all 12...I could only see 4 at first but still not all at once! 😱😱😱😱
- WildBillWill™ (@JacksGapsRaps) September 12, 2016
@PJCavan @wkerslake @siracusa nah, I can see them as well but I've had a bottle of wine. Maybe that helps!

5 Reasons Cruises Give You the Most Bang For Your Buck
If you're looking for an affordable way to travel, consider booking a cruise for your next trip. Whether you're a couple, a group of friends, or a family of five, your boarding pass is packed with value that's hard to beat with traditional vacations. On top of being reasonably priced right off the bat, there are also plenty of ways to save cash once you're on board. Look ahead for why cruises are totally worth it!
1. You only need to pay for an in-state round-trip flight.
For popular destinations like the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Mexico, cruises depart mainly from Galveston, TX, Charleston, SC, New Orleans, and multiple ports in Florida. Other destinations such as Mexico or Alaska typically require traveling to Los Angeles, CA, which still beats having to fly out of the country. However, if you're considering a European cruise, for example, you'll have to book a flight to Barcelona, Spain, where the closest port is located.
2. You can visit multiple cities, islands, and areas in one trip.
The best part about cruises hands down is the fact that you're able to see more with less effort. You don't have to worry about train rides or flights in between cities - simply wake up and find yourself in a new place. "It's a great way to maximize country exposure," Carnival Vista cruise director Matt Mitcham told POPSUGAR. "There aren't many vacations that let you hit three different ports or three different islands in six days." The one caveat is that you typically only have one day to get a taste of the area, but think of it as a sample: at the end of the trip, you can determine which places you want to return to or skip in the future.
3. It's surprisingly affordable!
For example, a five-day Eastern Caribbean sail on Carnival Triumph begins at a reasonable $282 per person. That includes your stateroom, food, ship amenities, and three port destinations all for the price of one! Prices may vary by ship, stateroom type, number of sail days, and ports, but considering the value of a single boarding pass, you're definitely getting your money's worth. Think about how much a hotel stay would cost you for five days!
4. It's all-inclusive.
Almost. Although alcohol and soft drinks (minus juices and coffee available at the buffet) aren't generally included your cabin rate, the buffet, dining room, ice cream machines, and pizzeria are. The specialty restaurants on your ship also require additional costs, but some (depending on the cruise) offer complimentary fare to guests during certain hours of the day. On Carnival Vista, for example, Jiji Asian Kitchen is a modern dining option at night while being a free Mongolian Wok during the day. If you stick to the what the cruise has to offer for free, you can actually avoid spending a dime more when you're on board.
5. One stateroom can fit up to five guests.
Don't underestimate the cozy size of your cabin - most ships feature staterooms with two additional pull-down beds and an optional trundle bed for the fifth guest. It may feel a bit cramped when your entire family is in the room at once, but honestly, you won't be spending much time in there. Think of it as an area solely for getting ready and sleeping and a great bonding experience.

24 Helpful Travel Hacks to Make Flying Stress-Free
For some people, flying is just another way to get around. For others . . . it kind of feels like you're tempting fate every time you're within 50 feet of a plane. If the bumps on your flight make you anxious - or worse, sick to your stomach - then follow a few simple tips that real flyers gave us on how to have a stress-free plane ride and travel experience in general. Try these tips and some helpful airport hacks, and you may even end up looking forward to your flight.
For Anxiety:
- Be prepared: Pack completely the night before so that you can get a good night's sleep without worrying about last-minute details. Get to the airport earlier so you aren't stressed out about time.
- Know your facts: Read plane crash statistics and facts, because, statistically speaking, crashes are extremely rare. Remind yourself that it's safer to fly than to drive, and research why you shouldn't be afraid of turbulence.
- Get comfortable: Once you board the plane, do your best to get comfortable immediately. Adjust the air conditioning, have a snack or some water, read a book or magazine, take deep breaths, and try to relax.
- Sleep: Consider taking Dramamine or an antianxiety medicine that may help you sleep. If you're sleeping, you can't be nervous!
- Fly during the day: Sometimes flying during the day (when possible) is less stressful because it can lessen the feeling of being closed in, which tends to be worse in the blackness of night.
- Make friends: If you are a really nervous flyer, then try striking up a conversation with a stranger and let them know that you are nervous. This can be a good conversation starter and a useful distraction - especially during takeoff. Even if the plane hits turbulence during the flight, that person can help reassure you.
- Use your imagination: Imagine the plane landing safely on the ground every time you're nervous.
- Enjoy a beverage: A preflight cocktail (and if necessary, a midflight cocktail) can be helpful.
- Expect issues: Especially when traveling over the holidays, always expect delays. That way, you aren't stressed out, upset, or surprised when they inevitably happen. In fact, when and if your flight takes off on time, it will feel like a pretty big victory.
- Make a playlist: Listen to calming music that will help you relax and sleep.
- Distract yourself: If takeoffs are what cause you the most anxiety, find a good podcast - something with a calming voice or something funny - and turn it up loud enough to drown out surrounding noise (but not loud enough to drive your neighbor nuts!), or play a game on your device that requires all of your attention (preferably with a timer) so that you can't look away and don't even notice the takeoff.
- Block it all out: Use noise-canceling headphones to block out noises and distract yourself with books, music, magazines, podcasts, movies, or TV shows.
- Use calming techniques: Wear something around your wrist that you can jangle, pull, or snap, which can distract you just enough to get through the takeoff or turbulence.
- Rationalize: Think about the fact that all the flight attendants in the plane fly nearly every day, and they are all perfectly fine.
For Motion Sickness:
- Ginger is key: If you are prone to motion sickness, drink ginger ale or eat ginger chews to soothe your stomach.
- Eat mints or chew gum: Sometimes the coolness and freshness of mints, mint gum, mint tea, or Tic Tacs can help relieve some nausea. Chewing gum can also help, but avoid sugarfree gum, which can upset your stomach. Cinnamon gum, like Big Red, is a good option.
- Buy a motion sickness band: A motion sickness band uses acupressure to stimulate your body's ability to fight off nausea.
- Don't read: Avoid any kind of reading, including any phone applications, when taking off and landing and during periods of turbulence.
- Drink water: Make sure to stay hydrated and avoid alcoholic beverages or coffee.
- Take Dramamine: Try taking Dramamine about an hour before you will be on the plane.
- Find a fixed point: If the takeoff, landing, or plane ride is bumpy, keep your eyes on the horizon so that you're focused on a fixed point.
- Plan ahead: For the 12 hours before you'll be traveling, stick to simple, easy-to-digest foods, avoiding lettuce, nuts, and any kind of dairy.
- Breathe! Try taking deep breaths, which will help to relax the muscles that tend to contract when you're feeling sick.
- Bring a fan: Pack a portable fan! Keeping yourself cool can do wonders for motion sickness.
