Chris Hemsworth and Matt Damon Spent Easter Sunday Together at the Beach, and It Looked Like a Blast
Chris Hemsworth ditched his shirt for a day at the beach in Byron Bay, Australia, on Sunday. The hunky Marvel star and native Australian was joined by his stunning wife, Elsa Pataky, who showed off her own enviable physique in a bikini, as well as close family friends Matt and Luciana Damon (who also flaunted her insane body in a two-piece). Chris's three kids; daughter India and twin sons Tristan and Sasha, were also in tow, as were Matt and Lucy's daughters, Alexia, Gia, Isabella, and Stella. Chris and Matt caught a few waves together, and at one point, Chris raised his arms to the sun in celebration. Can we talk about those abs, please?!
Chris and Matt have been friends for some time now, and this isn't the first time we've seen the Thor: Ragnarok stars and their families vacationing together. Back in 2012, the actors were photographed having a damn blast while shooting down an inflatable slide, and at this time last year, the Damons joined Chris and his brood Down Under. Keep reading to see their fun Easter outing!
Holy Upside Down - Millie Bobby Brown Reportedly Got a HUGE Stranger Things Raise
When the first season of Stranger Things premiered, it didn't take long for one character in particular to become the sci-fi hit's unofficial mascot: Eleven. Her shaved head, pink dress, and beloved box of Eggos were everywhere come Halloween, launching young actress Millie Bobby Brown to instant fame. A new report suggests that Brown's immensely talented performance as the fan-favorite telepath has just paid off - literally.
Back in March, it was announced that the entire cast of the Netflix hit were getting massive raises, especially the younger actors. Brown and costars Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, and Caleb McLaughlin reportedly all received the most dramatic salary increases compared to adult cast members Winona Ryder and David Harbour due to the fact they joined the show as virtual unknowns. While they started with an estimated $25-$30,000 per episode for the first two seasons, their new fee is rumored to be somewhere between $200,000 and $250,000 per episode. Brown, however, might be making even more, according to TMZ.
If the report is true, the Enola Holmes star could be getting paid as much as $350,000 per episode, which is around what Ryder and Harbour are both making. That means Brown will bank almost $3 million for season three, which is now in production and will consist of eight episodes. Given Hollywood's deeply unfortunate history of paying women less than their male costars, this is a refreshing turn of events.
Now all we need to do is figure out how to take down Demogorgons and smoke monsters ourselves - apparently it's pretty lucrative!
The Old School Reference You Might Not Have Picked Up on in Ready Player One
Ready Player One exploded into theaters at the end of March and brought with it a tidal wave of nostalgia. In addition to a soundtrack filled with sing-along ready '80s tunes, Steven Spielberg's sci-fi action-adventure film packs in every pop culture reference it possibly can. In between brief appearances from King Kong, the Iron Giant, and Jurassic Park's T-Rex (to name just a few), there's one reference to a character from 1984 in particular that might have left you scratching your head: Buckaroo Banzai.
During one scene about halfway through the film, Wade (Tye Sheridan) has plans to head to a dance club in the OASIS as his Parzival avatar to meet up with Art3mis (Olivia Cooke). In order to properly impress her, he goes through a series of iconic '80s movie character costumes until he finally settles on the rumpled suit and tie combo of Buckaroo Banzai, a character from the sci-fi adventure comedy The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension! As far as '80s characters go, Buckaroo Banzai isn't exactly as well-known as Freddy Krueger, for example (who also pops up in the movie FYI), but it's precisely for this reason that Art3mis is so impressed.
The 1984 film, typically shortened to just Buckaroo Banzai, follows Peter Weller's adventurer/brain surgeon/rock star Buckaroo Banzai (imagine what his LinkedIn looks like) as he teams up with his loyal group of crime fighters - the Hong Kong Cavaliers - to stop evil aliens from invading earth. It costars heavy hitters such as John Lithgow, Ellen Barkin, Jeff Goldblum, and Christopher Lloyd, to name a few.
While, admittedly, we would have loved to see Parzival parading around the OASIS dressed as Indiana Jones or Michael Jackson's character in the "Thriller" video, we can appreciate that a Gunter like Art3mis probably wouldn't have acknowledged just any standard throwback look. Now that we have that settled, we're going to pop on our VR headset and crank up "Stayin' Alive" so we can practice our floating disco dance routine, if you don't mind.

Brandon Victor Dixon's Performance of "Superstar" Will Take You Straight to Glitter Heaven
You may remember Brandon Victor Dixon as the actor who addressed Mike Pence during a performance of Hamilton back in 2016, but now we have another reason to bow down to him thanks to his brilliant portrayal of Judas during NBC's Jesus Christ Superstar Live!. The musical, which aired Sunday night, had just about everyone taking to Twitter to share some hilarious and not-so religious opinions about Jesus Christ and the muscular characters, but Dixon stood out as a shining star, and it's not just because of his fashion choices. Fans were left with their jaws on the ground during his final performance of "Superstar." Watch the video and see when our spiritual and glitter-filled awakening took place.
Brandon Victor Dixon just got a standing ovation in my living room and I think I just converted to Catholicism.

The Best Wellness Advice From Meghan Markle's Bygone Lifestyle Blog, The Tig
Meghan Markle - future royal, fashion inspiration, and pretty much full-time example of what a human being should be - was once a blogger, and a good one at that. Her blog, The Tig (a cute and shortened reference to Meghan's favorite wine, Tignanello), is no longer in existence, but it was a treasure trove of Pinterest-worthy tips on travel, beauty, and wellness. While Meghan said au revoir to The Tig in April 2017, shifting her focus to a more demanding position (future Duchess of Sussex - no biggie), there are some Tig posts we were able to dig up from the blog's four years of operations (thank you, Web Archive!).
Our discovery? Meghan Markle has always had the makings of a princess. Well, at least her posts about the perfect afternoon tea and her interview with former-Princess Alia Al-Senussi totally point to that, not to mention in-depth posts about her humanitarian work, which took Tig readers to countries like Rwanda and India. Meghan has always been a marvel.
While most of the content we read included interviews with influencers and celebrities including actress Emmy Rossum and fitness expert Kayla Itsines, as well as personal essays about her upbringing and biracial family ("Draw Your Own Box" should be required reading for anyone who's ever felt like they didn't fit a mold), The Tig is an open diary of recipes, tips, and lots and lots of Meghan's favorite things.
One of Meghan's favorite books is the Elizabeth Gilbert bestseller Eat, Pray, Love (Meghan embarked on her own mini Eat, Pray, Love adventure, which she chronicled in a post from 2016), and it totally makes sense why: she too has an appetite for food, culture, well-being, travel, and good deeds, as well as a passion to share them through writing. How she was able to balance a lifestyle blog, humanitarian work, a lead role on USA's Suits, and a clearly vibrant and busy social life - on top of winning the heart of one of the world's most sought-out bachelors - is a mystery in itself, but while we'll never truly know the secret to Meghan's Meghan-ness, we still have these lifestyle tips from her Tig days to hold us over.
The Tig on Beauty
In May 2016, Meghan had what she claims was a "life-changing facial." While she does recognize that yes, "life changing" does sound dramatic (she uses it again two years later when describing a bread recipe), Meghan insists that this is no exaggeration. During a trip to London, Meghan met facialist Nichola Joss at Sanctuary Spa, where she had a facial that will "give your face cheekbones like Kerry Washington, a taut chin, and a glow that lasts for seven days." Joss shared tips with Meghan on how to re-create the facial at home, which you can find step-by-step instructions for here.

Meghan would later rank Joss as her number one favorite skin expert in her 2016 post "Favorite Facialists Around the World." Other beauty gurus on this list include New York's Joanna Vargas Salon, the Kate Somerville clinic in Los Angeles, and the W Skin Care Spa in Toronto, Canada (where she filmed Suits).
While Meghan understands the importance of healthy skin, she makes it a priority to find the right makeup that doesn't clog up her face. She sat down with celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin in 2014 and got some of his beauty picks for a flawless finish. Some of Martin's favorites include the Tatcha Luminous Deep Hydrating Serum and the Hourglass Corrective Concealer. She speaks to Martin again later that same year, this time for tips for transitional makeup, officially making Martin a contributor to The Tig. His go-to products for colder weather include the Dr. Hauschka Eye Balm and the Urban Decay Naked Skin Liquid Makeup. His post highlights the importance of transitioning our makeup when we transition to cooler temperatures.
The Tig on Food
It's a bit disappointing that Meghan never published a cookbook, because The Tig is an impressive collection of healthy and indulgent recipes. Yet, as we mentioned earlier, Meghan is one busy woman, so we'll forgive her . . . for now.

In 2014, Meghan fell in love with a piece of toast: avocado toast. This was when avocado toast was still only just an up-and-coming meal of choice and social media photo op. The best avocado toast, according to Meghan, is from Little Collins in New York. The toast includes one fresh avocado, feta cheese, a dash of red chili flakes, a squeeze of lemon, salt to taste, and a bit of pepitas all on a slice of multigrain bread. The small meal is an easy-to-make recipe which Meghan seems to be fond of, given how many of her recipes are simple yet mouthwatering.
The coconut chai smoothie of 2017 is another recipe perfect for anyone short on time. The creation comes from nutritionist and wellness coach Jennie Miremadi and includes ingredients such as ginger, coconut milk, and cardamom. You can find the recipe here.
While The Tig is all about finding alternative ways to incorporate better foods into your diet, it also understands that the world needs a sip of something, ahem, stronger every once in a while. We introduce to you to the Signature Tig Cup, which Meghan recommends pairing with an Otis Redding playlist on a Summer day. The cocktail was devised by Meghan, which she describes as a twist on the signature Pimm's Cup. Containing fresh mint, cucumber, grapefruit rind, radish shavings, celery, lime, and your favorite gin, the Signature Tig Cup is sure to be a new favorite at Buckingham Palace.
The Tig on Wellness
If the healthy recipes and skincare routines haven't already given it away, The Tig is all about health and wellness. From its "2017 Winter Wellness Tips," where fitness guru Heather Dorak talks about the benefits of golden milk and the importance of checking your body temperature during the cold season, to Catherine Brophy's 2015 post on how to achieve the Chinese art of feng shui in your home, The Tig wants readers to live their best lives.
In 2016, The Tig's meditation expert, Light Watkins, who offered readers an introduction to meditation once before, wrote an anecdote about principled living. Stories like Watkins's that explore life's journey and taking in every moment it has to offer give readers a different perspective. Not only does The Tig give readers different alternatives to self-care, but it also celebrates the art of mindfulness and finding satisfaction and happiness within. We're certain Meghan will take her Tig message of self-love and inner peace to Buckingham Palace as well as her killer recipes and beauty picks. Royal family, watch out!
Meet the Scene-Stealing Actor Who Played Judas in NBC's Jesus Christ Superstar Live
From the title of the musical alone, you might think Jesus Christ Superstar would be primarily about Jesus himself, and to some extent it is. But much of Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic rock opera is dedicated to the story of Judas, who emerges as a more sympathetic character than you might expect as the show goes on. During NBC's re-telling of the musical, which aired live on Sunday night from Brooklyn, the actor who played Judas also ended up being one of the evening's biggest scene-stealers: Brandon Victor Dixon.
While the immensely talented leads John Legend (Jesus) and Sara Bareilles (Mary Magdalene) had the audience on their feet, it was Dixon's incredible performances of songs like "Superstar" and "Judas' Death" that truly elevated Jesus Christ Superstar Live. So, where have you seen the 36-year-old actor before?
You might remember the Broadway alum from the headlines he made back in November 2016 when he addressed Mike Pence during a performance of Hamilton (at the time, Dixon was playing Aaron Burr). He thanked the newly minted vice president for attending, saying, "We, sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights. We truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us."
That wasn't his first appearance on stage, however.
Dixon, who was born in Maryland and later attended both Columbia University and the British American Drama Academy, first made his mark on the theater scene in 2005 when he created the role of Harpo on Broadway The Color Purple, a performance that earned him a Tony nomination for best featured actor in a musical. Since then he's appeared in productions of everything from The Scottsboro Boys to Rent, and produced critically-acclaimed Broadway shows like Of Mice and Men. When he's not lighting up Broadway, Dixon plays Terry Silver on the Starz drama Power.
Here's hoping we get to see more of Dixon soon. Until then, we'll just have to keep "Superstar" on repeat!
What Marriage Trouble? Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Clearly Only Have Eyes For Each Other
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds finally popped up on a red carpet together last month after keeping us waiting for almost a year, and on Monday, they were back at it again. The picture-perfect couple stepped out to support pals John Krasinski and Emily Blunt at the NYC premiere of A Quiet Place. Blake and Ryan dressed to the nines and were such a sight for sore eyes that Ryan even had to wear glasses on the red carpet. OK, that's probably not the reason he wore them, but doesn't he look good?
Over the weekend, a report from the International Business Times India surfaced claiming that Ryan and Blake were struggling to spend quality time with each other. Fortunately, the publication tagged Ryan and he had the best response. "I wish. I could use a little 'me' time," he tweeted. Judging from these photos, Blake and Ryan are doing just fine.
Princess Charlotte's Royal Title Is Longer Than Your Target Receipt
Princess Charlotte is gearing up to become a big sister, but she's had a pretty big amount of responsibility since her own birth in May 2015 - and while she may never actually sit on the throne, her royal title is just as impressive as having a crown on her head. Two days after Charlotte was born, Kensington Palace announced her name and royal title; her birth certificate lists Charlotte's full name as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge and her occupation as Princess of the United Kingdom. Quite a mouthful for such a small person, right?

I'm a Light-Skinned Latina, and Yes, Colorism Does Exist
"You sound too smart to be Latina," he said before taking a gulp of his beer.
This wasn't the first time I had heard something as condescending as this before, but that didn't keep me from making a surprised face. I shuffled uncomfortably and looked the other direction as I softly said, "Well, I am. I'm Mexican-American, actually." I made an excuse and walked to the bar's porch, back to my friends, as he stood there feeling rejected but not embarrassed for what he had said.
I've always been flattered when someone's complimented my smarts and sense of humor, except when they derive from colorism.
Being a light-skinned Latina has been a roller coaster of a ride for me. While I longed for my cousin's dark, honey-kissed complexion, I learned to appreciate my paler skin . . . freckles, veins, and all. I've also had to learn that because my skin is fairer, I'm less likely to be associated with negative stereotypes about Mexican-Americans.
In my 26 years of life, I've hardly ever experienced discrimination or biased comments for my background. In fact, I've experienced more colorism from the Latino community, oftentimes being accused of being "white washed" by classmates through middle and high school.
It wasn't until college that I started hearing more backhanded compliments that praised me for passing for white simply because of the way I spoke and dressed.
I once sat next to a young Latina at a friend's wedding who was confused about my nameplate saying "Rivera."
"Wait, are you Mexican?" she asked.
"Yeah, my name is Natalie Rivera."
"I would have never guessed! You just seem so classy and smart!" she said with a laugh.
I didn't find it that funny, but I gave a friendly chuckle and changed the subject, asking her how she knew the bride and groom. As she spoke, I couldn't help but feel disappointed - disappointed that she assumed that I wasn't Latina because of the way I carried myself, and guilt for feeling flattered.
Yeah, flattered. For a while I thought to myself, "Well, if my community doesn't accept me, then I should simply own being 'white washed.'" I did this not knowing that I was not only depriving myself of my culture, but I was also contributing to the problem.
How many times have we felt relieved any time someone doesn't associate us with stereotypes? How may times have you thought, "I'm not that kind of blank. I'm this kind of blank."
Some of us have this mindset embedded in us because we've only been exposed to colorism, whether it's through a television set or "harmless" comments like, "You look white."
We add fuel to the fire by boxing people in our own community into categories, sometimes without even knowing it. Instead of classifying ourselves, we should acknowledge that not every community will look, speak, or even dress the same. Race will never come in one shade; there will never be a one size fits all. So own it, be a part of a community, and - most importantly - be proud of your roots.
We Want to Wear Selena Gomez's Easter Sunday Dress Every Damn Day of the Week
Selena Gomez stepped out for an Easter church service in some of her go-to staples. Her cozy Free People cardigan, white Puma sneakers, Jennifer Fisher hoops, and a Coach shoulder bag seem to have reached "essential status" in the songstress's wardrobe. She wears many of these items with workout clothes, but she can just as easily coordinate them with her Sunday best.
Selena's foundation for this holiday occasion was the Reformation Harbor Dress ($248), which features a row of buttons down the front, flutter sleeves, and a microfloral trend that can be easily mixed and matched with other simple patterns, like a designer logo bag.
In our eyes, this is the perfect Spring dress at an affordable price point, especially when you consider how much wear you might get out of it and all the events it'd be suitable for. Ahead, catch another glimpse of Selena's outfit, then shop her exact number along with plenty of similar options, if you prefer to scoop up more than one trustworthy piece.
Mark Your Calendars - These Limited-Edition Selena Cups Are Going to Sell Out Fast!
Stripes Convenience Stores announced that it's releasing two new limited-edition Selena commemorative collectible cups, and there's nothing else to say. OK, totally kidding, but we can't help it because the Selena obsession is real, y'all!
The cups ($3) will only be sold at Stripes stores in Texas and Louisiana starting on April 7 at 9 a.m., although customers can start lining up at participating stores at 8 a.m. Shoppers will be limited to four cups per person, and a portion of the cup sales will benefit the Selena Foundation.
"I am excited to work with Stripes again on these beautiful commemorative cups of my sister featuring Selena's image. One of the designs this year is a watercolor painting created by New York artist Santi Siguenza, and it's also our official logo for the 2018 Fiesta de La Flor event," said Suzette Quintanilla, Selena's sister.
If you don't get your hands on the Selena cup at Stripes, there will be another chance to snag one during the Fiesta de la Flor in Corpus Christi, TX, on April 13 and April 14. Fans can purchase the collectible cups at the Laredo Taco Company food trailer. Make sure to mark your calendars, because Stripes is expecting the cups to sell out quickly.
Who Needs Sexy Shoes When You're Wearing J Lo's Date Night Accessory of Choice?
If anyone knows how to turn a laid-back date night into a high fashion moment, it's Jennifer Lopez. The singer sat front row at a recent baseball game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants, as her beau Alex Rodriguez provided game time commentary. While the game's other attendees kept things casual in a variety of jeans, tees, and MLB merch, Jennifer was dressed to impress in a tailored cream coat, fitted dress, strappy heels, and ladylike top-handle bag.
But it was her pale pink long leather gloves that really made her outfit stand out. J Lo rocked the unexpected accessory throughout the game despite the balmy LA weather, which had us wondering: Are gloves the new must-have date night accessory? Keep reading to see all angles of her sleek and polished look and shop similar pink gloves if you dare to give the trend a try.
All the Times Cardi B's Beauty Style Was Far From "Regular, Shmegular"
If there's one positive thing that has come out of 2017 thus far, it's definitely Cardi B. If you're not familiar with Cardi, you've probably heard her hit single "Bodak Yellow" on the radio all Summer long. In fact, she just became the first female rapper since Lauryn Hill in 1998 to score a No. 1 hit on the Billboard charts - without a featured artist. That's a BFD, especially for an emerging female rapper from the Bronx.
Cardi also stole the hearts of millions during her stint on Love & Hip Hop: New York and with her hilariously relatable Instagram videos. Despite her major accomplishments, though, Cardi still dubs herself a "regular shmegular girl from the Bronx." But she's by no means just "regular, shmegular." In fact, aside from being one of today's most viral stars, Cardi's personal style deserves praise of its own. She's no stranger to switching up her look and taking risks, a trait that is extremely refreshing in the music world.
During her time in the limelight thus far, Cardi has switched up her hair with wigs and weaves more times than we can count. She's also been notorious for flashing gaudy, glitzy nail designs on Instagram. But whether she's rocking booty-length waves on stage, X-Men-inspired wigs at Fashion Week, or a classic updo at a benefit gala, one thing stands true: Cardi is a true beauty chameleon who knows how to change up her style (and she looks damn good doing it). Scroll through some of our favorite beauty moments from the rapper ahead!
7 Fun Facts About Cardi B, the Feminist Rapper Taking Over the Music Industry

Why can't someone who came from the bottom, who has a dark past, not achieve? I used to be a dancer and did what I did. I don't have a perfect vocabulary. But I do influence people."

I Discovered This Life-Changing Makeup Brush Cleaner (on Amazon!), and It's So Addicting
I used to clean my brushes by hand and leave them out to dry overnight; the whole process from beginning to end was a tedious task I dreaded. I recently found this genius Wloomm Electric Makeup Brush Cleaner ($30) on Amazon, and now I can't imagine living without it.
When I received it, I was shocked by how great the quality of the product was. It comes with a spinner, clear cup, eight different brush holders, a stand for everything, and even a velvet slip cover for the wand. The rubber holders vary in size and work on all my tools.
I couldn't wait to use it - I quickly filled the glass bowl with an inch of water and started cleansing. You simply stick a brush in the water, press a button to make the brush spin, and watch all your makeup seep out as the water changes color. I can't describe how weirdly satisfying this is. You'll also be grossed out when you realize all the grime that can come out of your tools. After spinning, you lift your brush out of the water and let it dry. Within minutes, it will be cleaner than ever!
Not only is it fun to use, but it was by far the fastest and most efficient process I've ever experienced. I can't imagine cleaning them the old-fashioned way ever again. Get this and it will change your beauty game forever!
I Made My Dad Try 4 Trendy Skincare Products - Obviously, It Was Hilarious
As a shopping editor, I'm always toting products home to test out for reviews. So when I visited my family for a weekend, they were fascinated by the loot I piled onto the floor. As my mom and sister sifted through face masks and body scrubs, my usually uninterested father scooted closer to us on the couch.
An outgoing and well-humored guy, my dad (who goes by JP) pointed at a jelly cleansing ball with curiosity. "What the hell is that thing?" he asked. I explained to him that it was a squishy ball you rub all over your face to clarify your pores - his booming laugh echoed through the living room. "Can I try it on you?" I asked. Much to my surprise, he agreed . . . and his reactions were so hilarious, I was crying with laughter.
This funny experiment made me realize I should try more skincare products on JP to see how he liked them. His usual routine consists of soap, water, and shaving cream, so I knew it would be an entertaining experience. Over the following three days, I tried four different trendy products I've been seeing all over Instagram and Facebook. Get ready to start LOLing, because the photos and "dad reviews" will leave you rolling. Check them out for yourself, and see if your own dad would dare!
This Genius $30 Makeup Bag on Amazon Will Help You Get Your Life Together
My makeup bag used to be a giant black hole of cosmetics that I was constantly digging through to find that one eye shadow. Everything changed when I discovered this Lay-n-Go Cosmetic Bag ($30) on Amazon. I quickly purchased it and used it on my last trip - I can safely say I'll never use anything else again.
The drawstring design allows the bag to lay flat so all your products can be spread out and easily viewed. Its design has raised edging so that small round items and brushes won't roll off when the bag is flat. It also features a convenient zipper pouch inside that is perfect for storing jewelry. But by far my favorite part is that it's machine washable! I always found that my cosmetics cases seemed too used and dirty after a certain point; being able to clean this one makes it an investment that's totally worth it.
If you're ready to organize your makeup collection, this bag has your name all over it. It comes in 13 different colors and designs that you can use at home or on the go!
MAC Will Launch a Full-Body Version of Its Most Popular Iridescent Moisturizer
Moisturizer should hydrate your skin and keep it healthy, but why purchase a regular option when you can smear on a lotion that also makes you glow? That's the reasoning behind the success of MAC's cult-favorite Strobe Cream ($33), at least. The green tea- and vitamin-infused formula is beloved for both its moisturizing and highlighting abilities, which has made it a mainstay in the brand's lineup for years. Now, it's getting a friend: the Strobe Body Lotion ($33).
That Strobe sparkle isn't reserved for just your face anymore - the rest of you can get in on the action, too! The brand announced that it will release an Opalite version of the lotion, which will leave a soft, iridescent glow. TBH, I want to book a Summer vacay right now just so I can rub this all over my fine self pre-beach time.
What's even cooler is that this larger tube of cream will still retail for a very cool $33 - the same amount as its smaller, facial counterpart. Since this universally flattering highlight shade is pretty much liquid gold in a bottle, I consider that price point extremely reasonable.
Want in on this Strobe action? You'll have to rely on your natural sparkle until this baby drops on April 12 in stores and on the brand's website.
Kim Kardashian Is Trying to Make Blue Eyeshadow Happen
Another day, another '80s beauty trend rises from the dead. This time, the look comes courtesy of Kim Kardashian, who is working very hard to make electric blue eyeshadow cool again. And you know what? This is an army pants and flip flops-type situation we want to get in on, too.
On March 31, Kim threw a rather swanky-looking party in LA to celebrate the launch of her collaboration with longtime makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic. This beauty dream team will release a cosmetics collection that's anchored by a 10-pan eyeshadow palette. One particularly captivating color in the set of powders is an electric blue, which Kim chose to showcase during the event.
Guests such as Kris Jenner, Patrick Starrr, Kandee Johnson, Laverne Cox, and Gigi Gorgeous all opted to go matchy-matchy with Kim, who lead the blue brigade. While Kim opted to go full monochromatic, utilizing the hue for both her shadow and liner, others just swiped some underneath their eyes. Regardless of how each guest wore the icy color, we are totally here for this blue renaissance. (Blueaissance?)
This Natural Skincare Brand Is Sold on Amazon Prime and, Womp, There Goes My Money
Natural skincare brand Herbivore Botanicals is the rare label that both looks pretty in the bottle and delivers super impressive skincare results. The Seattle-based line, founded by husband and wife duo Alex and Julia, has won plenty of fans for complexion-soothing products such as its Lapis Facial Oil. It's transcended the "natural" status to become one of Sephora's most popular indie brands. The only thing that could make Herbivore better is if it was sold in more stores - and luckily, it just became available on Amazon Prime.
That means it's pretty much never been easier to get in on Herbivore, which only sells products made of organic, food-grade, high-quality ingredients. No matter what your skin type is, there's a Herbivore product for you - and given how beloved the brand is, we bet it has rave reviews.
If an oily or acne-prone complexion is your skincare albatross, reach for the Lapis Facial Oil ($72), a sapphire-hued formula of azulene, blue tansy, squalane, and jojoba oil that works as an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent.
Dry skin? The Moon Fruit Superfruit Night Treatment ($58) will feel like a dang treat. Slather this creamy aloe and hyaluronic acid-infused salve all over your fine face and wake up to a brighter, more hydrated complexion - yes, really. As one reviewer put it, after trying this cream, "I've had no redness, not dry patches, almost no pimples and my skin doesn't feel as clogged up as it normally does - it just looks healthy and bright."
Since the only thing better that getting clear skin is getting clear skin quickly, go on and check out Herbivore on Amazon Prime. You'll be glowing by the freakin' weekend!
Helen Mirren Swears by This Trendy Eyebrow-Enhancing Procedure
Image Source: Getty / Steve Granitz
These are the things that keep me up at night: embarrassing high school encounters I'll never get over; stressing out about who the Zodaic killer was, if he's still alive and somehow living near me on the East Coast now; and - most importantly - wondering how Helen Mirren looks so damn ageless. Anytime I hear a new nugget of wisdom from the 72-year-old actress, I lean in. Luckily for all of us, Dame Mirren just revealed some priceless beauty scoop to The Daily Mail - and it involves one very trendy eyebrow procedure.
As Helen told the site, "I'll tell you what I had done recently, which I love - I got my eyebrows tattooed. I was fed up of my brows barely being there and when one of my girlfriends got it done, I thought that they looked great."
She went on to explain how microblading has made her morning makeup routine so much easier, saying, "They're very lightly and delicately done - but it means that when I get up in the morning and I have no makeup on, at least I have eyebrows. It's made a huge difference."
The Academy Award-winner is by no means the first person to sing the praises of microblading, which is a form of semipermanent makeup. Estheticians use tiny needles to apply very fine deposits of tattoo pigments on brows. These strokes mimic the look of natural, thick arches. This trendy procedure has been utilized by many women who overplucked their brows in the past and are looking for a way to reverse that look.
After taking a peek at Helen Mirren at this year's Oscars compared to her look at the same event back in 2011, we can agree that her brows appear to be a lot darker, wider, and - as the kids say - way more on fleek.
5 Ways I Beat Adult Acne Naturally
Since my early teenage years, I have battled with chronic and unrelenting acne that persisted into my late 20s. I have tested numerous prescription and over-the-counter topical creams, been prescribed oral acne medications and birth control methods, and created crazy at-home concoctions to try and beat my acne. I have stood in a dressing room at the mall and cried my eyes out because I couldn't find a single Summer dress that didn't showcase my glaringly obvious shoulder and back zits. I have personally dealt with the immense emotional and psychological toll that having severe adult acne can cause.
And I am here to tell you, it will get better.
Fifteen years later, I'm finally learning to feel comfortable in my own skin. It took a lot of tears, trial and error, and breaking down of my own bias to get to this point. After years of research and personal successes and failures, I've come as close as possible to finding the perfect cocktail for skin clarity.
It's important to note that this routine won't work for everyone with adult acne, but this is what worked for me.
1. I Rethought My Diet
Your skin is a direct reflection of your gut health (*cough* eczema, acne, rosacea, etc.). Thus, acne in adults often results from a "toxic" and inflammatory gut environment. To decrease this toxicity and inflammation, start by eliminating dairy, high carbohydrate, and processed foods. Begin by incorporating a variety of antioxidant rich, high-alkaline, and low glycemic foods for healthy internal healing. Examples include: kale, broccoli, cucumbers, blueberries, avocado, and spinach.
If you are like me and have already eliminated dairy, carbs, and highly processed foods with minimal results, try taking a closer look at the "healthy" foods in your life. When my progress plateaued, I knew I needed to make more drastic changes. That's when I finally cut out bananas (high in sugar), swapped my Reese's for 85 percent and higher organic cacao bars (low in sugar), and gave up my one true love in life, peanut butter.
2. I Took Time to De-Stress
Adult acne can lead to embarrassment, shame, and even depression. Because of this, acne creates a vicious and seemingly never-ending stress cycle. The longer acne lingers, the more stress it creates. Thus, it is crucial to take time each day to lower our stress levels. Choose your favorite way to de-stress, whether it be yoga, the great outdoors, mindful meditation, journaling, or coloring. Make a habit of spending 15 minutes each day to do something that allows you to breathe and unwind.
3. I Switched to Natural Products
This all cycles back to that pesky internal toxicity we've been talking about. It can often be tempting and easy to use prescribed or over-the-counter "quick-fixes" for acne. Trust me, I used them for years without batting an eye. Instead, try looking for natural, paraben-free products that won't alter your hormone balance or create a toxic environment. One of my favorite affordable products is Trader Joe's Natural Facial Cleansing Pads With Tea Tree Oil (found for under $10).
4. I Kept It Clean
Make sure that at least once a week you are cleaning anything that comes in contact with your face or skin, including your cell phone, makeup brushes, or pillowcase. If you notice your chest and back are still suffering, consider evaluating your laundry detergent and swapping to a natural, chemical-free detergent.
5. Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate!
For anyone who has suffered from chronic acne with scarring and discoloration, exfoliation is critical. Exfoliating will help to slough off old skin cells and promote regeneration and healing of scarred and acne-prone skin. Instead of using chemical-filled exfoliating cleansers, I purchased $5 exfoliating gloves from a local, natural beauty store and use them with a gentle cleanser three times per week. As for anything else in life, moderation is key. Avoid over-exfoliating to eliminate skin irritation and dryness. Just like any other item that touches your face, make sure to clean your gloves at least once per month to maintain their effectiveness.
I Spent Years Looking For the Perfect Boot, and I Finally Found It (in So Many Colors!)
Call me plain, but I pretty much only wear sneakers and boots. Every year when Fall rolls around, I begin my hunt for the perfect ankle boot that I plan on exhausting through Spring. I prefer to find just one good pair that I can mix and match with all my outfits. I love wearing ankle boots with jeans, trousers, skirts, dresses, leather leggings . . . you get it - the options are endless. And my list of what makes them a dream pair is even longer.
My requirements: I won't be shy about my pickiness because if I'm going to drop a few hundred dollars, I want my splurge to be worth it. I'm not huge on heels (for obvious comfort reasons), but I'll go for something under three inches. I also need a rubber sole; having that extra support on the bottom of my footbed makes all the difference. Last but not least, I'm all about suede. Finding the ideal material that is actually nice but not too expensive isn't always easy.
By word of mouth over the past year, I've heard so many good things about M. Gemi. Its shoes are handmade in Italy with top-of-the-line leather. This photo-worthy brand has a wide variety of sneakers, flats, and boots, all known for high-quality craftsmanship and fair prices. I saw these Corsa Boots ($348) on my Instagram feed and immediately fell in love. The day I received them in the mail, I knew they were winners. The box even came with a cute personalized name-card.
My final verdict: The heel is my ideal height. I've spent the last week walking around all day in them, and there was no period of breaking in; they instantly felt comfortable. The shaft height also hits the right place on my leg, looking good with everything from tights and skirts to cropped jeans. Overall, the biggest positive for me is the quality; the leather is soft and supple, and it doesn't cut into my skin when I walk. The zipper is no fuss and slides up smoothly for easy on-and-off wear. I feel like I'm getting designer-quality shoes for half the price.
An added bonus is that these boots come in six beautiful suede shades. The brand also offers different styles of this shoe, including a leather version ($348), a leopard calf-hair-print choice ($498), and even a cool moto pair ($448).

Easter Eggs, Jelly Beans, and - Oh My! - Kate Middleton's Pearl Earrings
Just as she does every year, Kate Middleton attended an Easter service with the royal family at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. While we admired her bow-adorned hat in 2017, Kate's 2018 attire centered around one trendy accessory: pearls. We were immediately distracted from the eggs in our basket and any candy that might have been strewn about as we zoomed in on Kate's Balenciaga earrings, lined with tiny diamonds around the circular rim.
Kate's studs matched the pearls pinned onto her brown Catherine Walker coat, a sophisticated choice for the duchess. With the addition of neutral Gianvito Rossi pumps, a Loeffler Randall clutch, and a Lock & Co cap, it was clear that this outfit was all about the jewels. Ahead, zoom in on Kate's pretty holiday pearls, check out her maternity style before the new baby arrives, then shop for some of your own baubles.

Emma Watson's Style Transformation Is as Magical to Relive as All the Harry Potter Movies Combined
We'll always have fond memories of Emma Watson as the precocious Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, but the actress has accomplished a lot in her career since then. Emma's become a strong activist with her He For She campaign, championed eco-friendly fashion brands, modeled for Burberry, and starred in other highly raved movies like Beauty and the Beast. Just like her vast portfolio of accolades, Emma's style, too, has evolved over time with her career.
Now more than ever, the star attends major red carpet events, and fashion houses such as Dior and Alexander McQueen are right there to dress her. Emma's not shy about experimenting with dress silhouettes - she's worn everything from minis to poufy ballgowns - and she rocks pantsuits on the regular. Even her outfits from eight years ago show she was willing to take fashion risks. No matter what Emma puts on, she can rock the hell out of it. Take a trip down memory lane by looking at some of her memorable outfits.

You Need Confidence to Wear Elsa Pataky's Little Black Bikini, and Oh Baby, She Has It
Elsa Pataky and husband Chris Hemsworth got in some beach time with their family at Bryon Bay in Australia. Elsa, every bit the bohemian goddess, opted for a bandeau-style black Juillet bikini with ribbing detail. While she tied her top into a tight knot, letting the strings hang down casually, Elsa's itsy-bitsy, strappy bottom hugged her curves and directed attention to her toned booty.
The 41-year-old Spanish actress and supermodel layered pendant necklaces and wore a stack of gold jewelry, achieving an ethereal look sans makeup. Her two-piece, while not vibrant in color or avant-garde in shape, certainly made a statement - "all eyes on my bum, please" - and there is nothing wrong with that. Read on to catch another glimpse, then shop Elsa's exact suit along with similar options that will make you feel confident enough to send out the same message.

Melania Trump Wore Her Sunday Best to Church - and That Includes These Designer Heels
On Easter Sunday, the Trumps spent the holiday away from Washington DC. They arrived for a service at the Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, FL, where Melania was spotted in a printed Azzedine Alaïa dress. She didn't fully opt for pastels, as one sometimes does for Easter, but she did channel the festive vibes with the shade of her dress. She walked into the church hands-free of any designer bag, accessorizing only with a pair of sunglasses. Melania stuck to the sidewalk, avoiding the grass, as she walked in a pair of Christian Louboutin heels. The crisscross silhouette was a nice change from her usual go-to pumps. Read on to see her full look, then shop her exact shoes plus similar options.
