Kendall Jenner Wears a Full Rainbow's Worth of Dresses For Elle - Seriously, ROYGBIV

Kendall Jenner opened up to close family friend Lana Del Ray for Elle's June 2018 issue. The two stars talked about relationships with people in the music industry, that time Lana performed at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding, and the stresses of anxiety - especially in Hollywood. Kendall obviously kept her cool for the accompanying photo shoot, where she slipped into countless vibrant designer dresses and the most memorable look of all: a royal PVC Balmain pantsuit that's definitely NSFW.

While Kendall didn't touch on many facets of the fashion industry in her interview, aside from being excited about Virgil Abloh's placement at Louis Vuitton (Kendall wore Virgil's brand Off-White to the 2018 Met Gala), her full feature provides enough fodder for you to officially retire your Pinterest board. Styled by Anna Trevelyan, the stylish adventure is one we want to scroll through again and again . . . and again. We'll just be here all day, you?

Selena Gomez Has Something Important on Her Mind, and the World Can Read It on Her T-Shirt

Rule number one for fashion girls: always dress for the event you're attending. Selena Gomez did just that when she went rollerskating with some friends. The singer wore a yellow t-shirt with denim cutoffs and red striped socks that peeked out from her white sneakers. A denim jacket casually hung off one shoulder. Her entire look was full of retro colors, and Selena even amped up that vibe with a red lip, dark eyeshadow, and Jennifer Fisher gold hoop earrings.

You'll notice Selena also had something else on her mind that night. In silver letters, the phrase "Never Underestimate the Power of a Woman" was written across her t-shirt. Although this could allude to several things that have happened over the year (the #MeToo movement or her relationship with Justin Bieber), the top is an ever-empowering reminder that women are intelligent, badass creatures. So, in other words, don't f*cking mess with Selena. Read on for a look at her top, then shop similar graphic tees ahead.

24 Different Types of Hats to Know by Name (and Shop Too)

Admit it: you hadn't heard the word "fascinator" before Princess Beatrice made a meme out of her bowed Philip Treacy at the Royal Wedding. That's OK - the world of headwear is much more complex than you'd think. Sure, we were familiarized at an early age with The Cat in the Hat, but what hat did that cat begat? After all, hats are defined as "a generic term for headwear that usually includes a crown and a brim," but that's just the tip of the iceberg. It's time to put away your grade-school knowledge of hats and get an expert education.

Because Wearing White Is For Commoners, These Royal Brides Wore Pink

We've seen plenty of regal bridesmaids in pink and more than one royal mother of the bride who's gone all rosy for a royal wedding, but for the big dress itself, it's a bit of a rarity. However, if Meghan Markle does decide to ditch white and pick pink when she marries Prince Harry in Windsor on May 19, she'll be joining an elite club of royal style icons who chose the shade for their wedding dresses.

While most royal brides have opted for white for their religious ceremonies, they've shown off their love for color during their civil ceremonies, usually a few days before the big party. Take a look!

Rihanna Basically Wore Sparkly PJs to Her Met Gala Afterparty, and We Are Bowing Down

In case you missed it, Rihanna was the center of attention at the Met Gala this year, and our knees are still sore from bowing down. The singer immediately stole the spotlight when she arrived to the ball, sporting a bedazzled pope-inspired outfit - towering, jeweled hat and all - that snatched the breath right out of our lungs. To be honest, we're still recovering.

When the Met Gala came to an end, Rihanna's night was FAR from over, as she slipped into a completely different look before dashing off to an afterparty in the city that never sleeps. The star ditched her pope-esque getup (because she definitely couldn't have properly broken things down on the dance floor while wearing that huge hat) and wore a sparkly coordinating top and pants that looked way more comfortable and practical. She wore her oversize silver shirt halfway unbuttoned to reveal a dazzling bra underneath. The matching set was a look - the finale look, to be exact - from Nina Ricci's Fall Winter 2018 runway show.

Rihanna paired her PJ-like ensemble with matching silver heels that were customized by Dorateymur for all her late-night, blister-free dancing needs. She accessorized with giant cross necklaces and futuristic sunglasses by Crap Eyewear even though she reportedly rolled up to the shindig at 3 a.m. Why was she wearing shades in the dead of the night? Because she's Rihanna, and she simply can.

Zoom in on all the details of her Met Gala afterparty outfit ahead, and then be sure to relive our favorite dresses from the annual ball's red carpet.

The Viral Story of an Abandoned Dog Found in a Garbage Bag Will Make Your Heart Cry

Malissa Sergent Lewis was driving through her hometown of Harlan, KY, when she noticed a black garbage bag moving along the side of the road. Curious, Lewis went to inspect the bag only to find an abandoned puppy inside of it. Though the puppy had a collar, it didn't have a tag.

In an interview with The Dodo, Lewis explained the unexpected and horrifying discovery. "I could hardly wrap my mind around that," she said. "Something was alive in that bag, and I just knew I had to get whatever it was out." As one might imagine, the dog was relieved to be found. "As soon as I opened it up, and he saw light, he just started wagging his tail. He knew he was OK," she said.

Lewis has yet to figure out the circumstances surrounding the dog's abandonment, but investigators are reportedly looking into it. Lewis did share the miraculous story on Facebook in a series of videos that have gone viral with close to 20,000 shares. Accompanying the videos is a caption that states, "If this is your puppy, let me know. If you are the scoundrel who put it in a garbage bag and tossed it on the side of the road . . . you're a sicko."

Lewis is currently trying to find a permanent home for the dog, but she will continue to foster it until that happens. Perhaps one of those 900,000 viewers might be interested?

This $117 Marble Coffee Table Is the Most Expensive-Looking Piece in My Living Room

I'm lucky enough to live in a big apartment, but I had a hell of a time furnishing it. When we first moved in, my boyfriend and I had literally nothing. We were completely overwhelmed by the fact that furnishing a whole place is super expensive. We needed it all. I'm talking everything from dinnerware to trash cans and TVs. I was able to snatch a few hand-me-down pieces from friends and family, but one room was really lacking: my living room. It was pretty much just a sofa and an Ikea shelf. I knew I needed to spruce the place up and on a budget. During my search for the perfect coffee table, I stumbled across this Walker Edison Round Coffee Table ($117) and was instantly sold.

One of my decor dreams had always been to own a sleek white marble table. After almost having a heart attack at the price of real marble choices, I switched my focus to faux-marble tabletops. While the real ones are undoubtedly beautiful, not only are they far out of my budget, but they can stain or ruin easily. I didn't want that kind of stress, so I was happy to invest in a cheaper option that worked for my space.

Surprisingly enough, I discovered this table from Walmart. The affordable retailer is filled with an array of stylish and reasonably priced options. It wasn't just the pretty top that sold me. I love its gold metal legs. It gives off the vintage, art-deco-inspired vibe that I was going for in my apartment. The best thing: it looks so expensive! My guests constantly ask me where it's from, and they never believe the price. Its durable laminate top has withstood dings, dents, and even red wine spills. I couldn't be happier that I got exactly what I wanted for a fraction of the price.

10 Filipino Foods You Should Know About

Filipinos are the second largest Asian American demographic in the country, yet Filipino food has only just begun receiving mainstream recognition. Maybe it's because the first time you saw Filipino food, it was on an episode of Fear Factor or Bizarre Foods. I was certain that by now, everyone in America must have been invited to a Filipino pot luck, complete with a roasted suckling pig, mountains of lumpia, and plastic take-home containers for all guests to make sure they have baon (leftovers) for the next week. Alas, if you haven't experienced the delights of Filipino food yet, I'm glad to be here to share some dishes from my motherland, hopefully disrupting any exotifying stereotypes mainstream media might have painted otherwise.

How I Turned My Ikea Couch Into a $10,000 Designer Sofa

I don't believe you grow out of Ikea past the age of 25. I love the Swedish brand's minimalist aesthetic. And since I like to mix things up, the price point works for a design commitment-phobe like me. Despite my Ikea love, after three years, my Karlstad sofa started to look a bit sad. Since the low-profile sofa fit perfectly in my open living room, I decided to give it a designer-couch makeover instead of replacing it.

This Raleigh Sectional from Design Within Reach (pictured above) served as my inspiration. The walnut frame matched the midcentury vibe I strive for, and the light fabric color would add to the airy look in my bright living space. That sofa retails for as much as $10,000. I knew I could DIY the look for less. Read on for how I did it.

The 1 Homemade Condiment You Should (and Can) Make Immediately

If you already make your own salad dressings, then why not take it a step further by preparing your own condiments, too? One of the easiest and most decadent ways to dress up salads, appetizers, meats, and even desserts is balsamic glaze. It only requires one bottle of balsamic vinegar and 10 minutes. Here's the really easy method.

This 100-Calorie Spiked Seltzer Water Guarantees You'll Stay Hydrated AND Buzzed

What on earth is better than playing a few rounds of cornhole on a Summer afternoon or hanging out by the pool with a drink in hand? Answer: nothing, in my opinion. And while I often find myself daydreaming of those lazy hours at the beach or BBQing in the backyard, settling on the perfect alcohol can pose a bit of a challenge. The solution? Cans of spiked seltzer. My latest obsession is Truly's Spiked & Sparkling Seltzers, especially the new Wild Berry flavor.

There's a lot to love about these refreshing cans of goodness. For starters, the slim cans come in party packs - hooray for convenience! - and at only 100 calories and one gram of sugar per can, they're a great option if you're trying not to overindulge. The low-cal, lightly flavored beverage has a five percent ABV per can and will become your go-to Summer drink.

While we totally love traditional bottles of beer, the inevitable belly bloat comes after a few. And whipping up refreshing cocktails sounds good at first, but committing to playing bartender full-time when you're just trying to relax isn't always the most attractive option. When it comes to Truly's flavors, you can choose from Raspberry & Lime, Blueberry & Acai, Pomegranate, or Wild Berry, the newest delicious addition. Each 12-pack will only set you back $15, so drink up!

What I Learned About Swedish Death Cleaning After Experiencing My Own Loss

As I stood atop a makeshift ladder, an old door atop two sawhorses, with a mask over my face, pulling down pieces of wood that were covered in dust that may have been there from the 1920s Dust Bowl, I found myself resenting my grandparents and their parents for holding onto all this junk. I then promptly felt guilt and shame for thinking such a thing while also knowing the resentment was, and is, in many ways misplaced grief. Indeed the emotions are as layered as the dust that was raining down on my head from the eaves of the garage of my grandparents' house in southwest Kansas.

Along with my mother and aunt, we are döstädning - death cleaning, in Swedish.

It's the latest idea and trend in organization, coming from Margareta Magnusson's The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning: How to Make Your Loved Ones' Lives Easier and Your Own Life More Pleasant. The principle is that people who are aging should begin to clean their homes and rid them of unwanted items in the hopes that when they pass away, their families will be spared the task. It follows neatly in many ways after the organizing trend started a few years ago with Marie Kondo's book The Life-Changing Art of Tidying Up.

And it's an activity I'd never thought about doing, much less considered giving it a name, until my father passed away unexpectedly not so long ago.

At the time that he died, I wanted to hold onto every single scrap of anything about him - if I could've bottled the air he'd breathed, I would have done it. Every letter or note or even text message, I was sure I needed to hang onto forever and always. As if holding on tight enough would mean he wasn't gone from my life. I couldn't fathom getting rid of anything of his. And he may have had the same idea. His father also died relatively young and our house has boxes of ephemera from a generation past; my dad had never been able to go through and get rid of the condolence cards sent after his own father died. Both of us had fathers who died unexpectedly when we were in our early 30s. With my mother still alive, there was no reason to cull my dad's things, and with the shock of it, we just didn't really do anything.

Then her father, my grandfather, died, and his house was left empty and needed to be cleaned out. That more pressing need has seemed to spur on my mom to look again at the collections of things her husband, my father, left behind. So we mobilized and are currently tackling the unenviable task of "death cleaning" in two places at once. And what seemed impossible slowly became possible - and even helpful. Here are some things I have learned, and am still trying to learn, about the process.

It's ridiculously hard emotionally.

"Many adult children do not want to talk about death with their parents." This. Most definitely this. I highlighted this quote in Magnusson's book, and it's so achingly true. It's not something your brain wants to process, so it's much easier to pretend it won't ever happen.

I don't want to envision going through my mother's stuff, and facing down the one thing that we'll all come to - death - is remarkably difficult. But if you bring it up when you can or think about it for yourself and your own belongings, you get a chance to think about what's actually important and where you'd like treasured heirlooms to go. "Send that rug to Aunt Dottie, she's always loved it," and "It's OK to get rid of that lamp," etc.

I'm working to cherish the memory of loved ones without clinging tight to all of the stuff left behind.

I didn't and don't want to go through any of this stuff, literally and figuratively. It's unfathomable still that my dad and grandpa won't be coming back into the house, and surely they'd be asking where their shoes, hats, and books were if they did.

But wishful thinking does nothing, and I'm working to cherish the memory of loved ones without clinging tight to all of the stuff left behind. And it's also OK to hang onto some special things as memory touch points.

I also had a share of irritation with the sheer volume of stuff and decisions to make, and then felt/feel guilt about that irritation. I know that the burden left behind wasn't an intentional one, but it's OK to feel tired and stressed with it all. Be prepared to be overwhelmed and uncertain.

Having gone through and done our best to organize the two-car garage, filled with old wood scraps, tools, buckets, and odds and ends from the past hundred years, my mother, aunt, and I were pretty much immobilized in physical and mental exhaustion, and it wasn't long after sunset that we packed it in for bed. And that was just for the garage, where nothing had much sentimental value to it.

Many items are likely to spark memories and laughs and tears, some all at the same time.

And what I may have seen as ready for the thrift store or dumpster, others may not and vice versa. A tattered shirt or blanket may bring back all kinds of memories for someone else, and prying it from their hands because you think it's trash isn't going to help anyone.

The weight of making decisions on item after item will wear you out. That's a large part of why Magnusson advocates for doing such cleaning not only before you pass (if you can), but to do it a room at a time, and slowly.

Stories. Ask for and find out stories.

The ideal way to go through the stuff and things of someone's life is to do it with them or with those who know the stories. Before my grandmother passed away, she made notes on many of the handmade quilts that she had in her house, and those notes and stories make the quilts so much more meaningful.

But then there's things like the 18-inch-braid of brown hair in a trunk in my grandparents' basement. Whose was it? Why it was saved? Questions that no one has any answers for. We put it back in the trunk, shut the lid, and left that conundrum for another day.

Which brings me to the next thing.

Be ready to let go.

Think of what's in your own attic, basement, garage, storage unit, file cabinets, and drawers. The things you've curated to make your life comfortable. The things you've saved - appliance instructions, old screws and nails, bank statements, solitary socks - the "stuff" that may not "spark joy" as Kondo puts it, but the stuff that you think will come in handy one day. Or your childhood collections, in my case of postcards and dolls.

All that you hold dear or find valuable in terms of the stuff of your life, at one point and inevitably, it will be meaningless. And that's OK. The memories are still there, and it's not a purge of them from your life. It's a way to move forward, it's giving yourself space to breathe, because as much as you don't want to, the forward motion has to happen.

Give things a place of honor and joy as best you can.

It's hard to know what to do with things that aren't sentimental but that are still in good shape and don't deserve to be flung to the dump. Maybe no one you know needs another bed frame or dresser, not stylish enough to be vintage, but just old-fashioned. Towels and sheets are easy enough to donate. But what do you do with things like yearbooks? Half-finished sewing projects?

I don't collect baseball cards, stamps, or Boy Scout stuff, but I flirted briefly with the idea that I should start collecting all those things my dad had. Holding onto those collections wouldn't do a thing to bring him back, though, and there are people in the world who surely would find more value in them than I could.

Schools and universities may be on the lookout for old yearbooks - we found an old friend of my dad's who was overjoyed to have some of his old Boy Scout stuff, a distant relative was stoked on the idea of getting some of the stamp collection, and my dream is that someone at the local thrift store will find a way to put together the quilt blocks into a cozy, warm comforter.

It's time-consuming to do more than just chuck things in the dump, but it feels right to be able to see things that brought joy and value into my dad's and my granddad's lives find new homes where they'll be appreciated.

What You Should Do If You're Stumped During an Interview

When you don't know how to answer a question during an interview, the silence can seem excruciating. You might even wish the floor would open up and swallow you whole. Not to worry, though - keep these tips in mind the next time you're strapped for an answer.

1. Calm down.

First of all, the most important thing to do is stay calm. If you start freaking out, your body will begin reacting physiologically. For example, your blood pressure will start rising, and your heart may race. Once you start a stress response, you won't be thinking clearly, and you may throw out answers without thinking. Take deep breaths, and tell yourself that it's OK to not know the answer to the question. You'll just have to work through it; there's nothing you can do to change things, but you need to stay calm to find the right answer.

2. Don't say, "I don't know," off the bat. And don't make stuff up.

You should not tell the interviewer you don't know the answer without mulling it over. Then again, be careful not to make stuff up, because your interviewer can see right through that.

3. Ask questions.

Maybe it's the question you don't understand. Ask your interviewer to clarify what she said. Go deeper into the question to see if you can get more details that will help you figure it out.

4. Tell your interviewer what you do know.

If you do have some knowledge of the question, then take the time to tell your interviewer what you do know of the situation. Saying everything out loud can start you on the process of figuring out the problem.

5. Tell them how you would find the answer.

Even if you don't know what the answer is, you can tell the interviewer the steps you would take to figure out the problem. Interviewers ask you hard questions because they want to see what your thought process is. Sometimes, the thought process may be more important than the actual answer. They want to see that you can take initiative and have the resources to come up with a solution on your own, instead of needing someone to hold your hand through problems. While you're trying to find the solution, you can admit to not knowing certain parts; this way, you come off as being honest, and the hiring manager will know you are not trying to fake it. For example, if you need to calculate something and you're not good at math, you can respond with "I can't do the calculations off the top of my head, but I think these calculations will give me the answer. And what I can do is use a calculator to find that answer." Showing a little honesty shows vulnerability and transparency. It also makes you more likable.

6. Know the right time to come clean.

Although we mentioned not admitting to the interviewer that you don't know the answer, there is an exception to this rule. If the answer is something that you will only know through memorization, such as a definition of the word, then it's probably best to admit that you don't know the answer, as it may be impossible to figure it out independently. Here's what you can tell the interviewer: "It's a good question, but I'm sorry, I don't have the answer off the top of my head. I will be sure to follow up with the answer after the interview."

7. Send a follow-up email.

The follow-up email for an interview could become your second chance. Try to talk about the answer you were stumped on, but be smooth when you're talking about it. And make sure you're only naming the mistakes your interviewer caught and not drawing attention to the ones she did not catch. Don't say something like "I'm sorry I did not know the answer to that question." Instead, tell her that after more time and thought, you managed to come up with a couple of solutions that could work for the problem.

How Gentefication Is Putting Small Businesses at Risk

Nestled in the heart of Los Angeles County, in the city of San Fernando, you'll find a restaurant that offers birria, micheladas, and mariachi every Friday night. It's called El Abuelo, and it's been owned and operated by my father for the last 15 years.

My father took over ownership two weeks shy of my 12th birthday. I worked at El Abuelo until I turned 24 - and in case you were wondering, yes, it was weird being the only kid at my middle school with a job. Over the years, my best friend and a few family members were also among the restaurant's staff; my stepmother, who met my father at the restaurant, now co-owns the business with my father. That small print on our business cards that says "Family owned and operated"? Yeah, we aren't bluffing.

While our family-friendly motto and clientele have remained the same, our neighborhood hasn't. Chipotle, Buffalo Wild Wings, and multiple sushi joints are just some of our newer, more corporate neighbors - but their arrivals didn't worry my father. He firmly believed his customers, which admittedly were temporarily distracted by the fancier, shinier establishments, would eventually make their way back to their favorite bowl of menudo in a few weeks' time. He wasn't wrong, thankfully, and while the restaurant continues to thrive, I still can't help but worry that it will one day be swept away by gentrification, or its browner, equally problematic relative: gentefication.

Gentefication's Complex, Brown History

Gentefication (no, that's not a typo) is a relatively new term, one that still hasn't received a Webster definition. But it's made more than a few cameos in articles by The New York Times and various community blogs. The important distinction here is that gentefiers aren't strangers to their communities - they're actually from the neighborhood they're helping gentrify. It's a play on the word "gente," which means "people" in Spanish, and gentrification, which means the process of renovating neighborhoods by conforming to middle-class taste and displacing low-income businesses. When we think of gentrifiers, many of us imagine a Caucasian middle-class hipster with a man bun and a plate of $12 avocado toast, not a community member who might've grown up in the same block as the small business they're pushing out. As Gustavo Arellano, California columnist for the Los Angeles Times, puts it, "Gentefication is basically gentrification with a brown happy face."

I may be sipping a sangria while bobbing my head to Cardi B, but at what cost?

While the exact origin of the word is still up for debate, Los Angeles Magazine credits Guillermo Uribe, owner of Boyle Heights bar Eastside Luv, for coming up with the label in 2007. In an interview with the magazine several years ago, Uribe, a self-proclaimed gentefier, explained, "If gentrification is happening, it might as well be from people who care about the existing culture. In the case of Boyle Heights, it would be best if the gente decide to invest in improvements because they are more likely to preserve its integrity."

I have been a customer of Uribe's bar for almost five years, and not just because of its amazing sangria - because it is one of the few places where I can dance to Drake and corridos in the same night. Being a first-generation Mexican-American woman in my late 20s, I fall into the (almost) cliche group of Latinxs who idolize Frida Kahlo, dance to Morrissey, and quote 1997's Selena (anything for Selenas!). Businesses like Uribe's speak to the unique, blended upbringing and tastes of first-, second-, and even third-generation Latinxs like myself. But instead of fixing their neighborhood's existing gentrification problem, they're adding to it by displacing immigrant businesses. I may be sipping a sangria while bobbing my head to Cardi B, but at what cost?

New vs. Old Fashion

If my dad could describe his customer demographic, he'd guess that half of his customers are on the older side of the spectrum. He's OK with that, and why shouldn't he be? These customers who've been coming back for years, despite newer, hipper restaurants moving in, are paying his bills. The food and family-friendly environment have more or less remained the same; while my dad has made some new additions to the restaurant, he's ignored advice from friends, family, and even me - all of whom have suggested the staff make more of an effort to attract younger customers. Instead, my dad has chosen to focus on providing his regulars with the restaurant they know and love. And according to Arellano, my dad is making a smart move.

"I think the best advertising I have is word of mouth."

"Hipsters are parasites, frankly," Arellano told me during a recent phone conversation. "They suck out the life of a neighborhood, and then once it's not cool anymore, they go somewhere else, so I would warn against trying to appeal to this new demographic."

A few years back, my stepmother suggested that my father and his staff be extra cordial to millennial customers, because they might be more inclined to share photos of our food on social media. "Be nice to the foodies," she'd tell my dad. While his wife's suggestion, in retrospect, made sense, it didn't really help the restaurant in any meaningful way.

"Honestly, I've never seen any foodie bring in business to my place," my dad told me. "I think the best advertising I have is word of mouth. I have paid for advertising, and honestly I don't see any difference. I think the place, the service, speaks for itself."

Arellano is also a strong believer in the power of word-of-mouth advertising. It's possible for immigrant-run businesses to attract old and new customers, he notes; for proof, look no further than the loncheras, or food trucks, in the city of Santa Ana where Arellano works.

"There's a lonchera, a pink taco truck, that gets a whole lot of hipsters," Arellano explained. "But it still gets, like, the lack of the term, the paisas, you know, the working-class Mexicans, and they haven't changed anything."

Staying true to your product and to your customers might seem like a great weapon, the most viable way forward for immigrant business owners fighting gentrification and gentefication - but in actuality, it might not be enough. So, what is?

Landlords Don't Owe Us Sh*t

"A landlord has no obligation to his community or to the community where his properties are."

Ah, landlords. With their suits and their formal notices, landlords are arguably the people's greatest and oldest villain. Yet, while some of us might not agree with their development plans and rent increases, the truth of the matter is, landlords really don't owe us sh*t.

"A landlord has no obligation to his community or to the community where his properties are," Arellano explained. "His or her obligation is to their pocketbook, so the only real way that businesses can protect themselves is by becoming their own landlords."

My father is not his own landlord, and while I fully believe in the power of his hustle, with the rising property rates in San Fernando, I doubt he'll own the building the restaurant's situated in anytime soon. Arellano points to how difficult and expensive it is to own a building and names it as a reason he recommends business owners team up with community land trusts. CLTs are nonprofit, community-based organizations dedicated to ensuring community stewardship of land - and enabling the businesses that make our communities what they are to stay in business. But while immigrant business owners are out strategizing ways to stay afloat, there's something gentefiers can do as well.

It's a Hard Walk to Walk

In 2015, Helados Pops Ice Cream moved into the space directly next to El Abuelo. Owned and run by a young immigrant family, the shop has been a hit with San Fernando residents and the internet (Insider did a video about Pops' infamous coconut shell sundaes, and it garnered five million views on Facebook). New to the block, Pops has been nothing but friendly to its neighbors, including my father. The two businesses scratch each other's backs - my father and stepmother suggest customers try the business next door, and vice versa.

Budding friendships between businesses like El Abuelo and Pops is a great way for establishments, whether gentefying or not, to coexist. Some gentefiers, like Eastside Luv's Uribe, argue that they genuinely wish to make their neighborhood a better place. While I'm sure they say this with sincerity, as the old saying goes: actions speak louder than words.

"If you say you're going to be for the community, then really be for the community," Arellano said. "Don't be getting your meat from some hipster butcher all the way on the other side of Los Angeles."

While this won't entirely solve gentefication, Arellano still urges gentefiers who might feel conflicted or guilty to make an effort, whether that be supporting neighboring businesses or teaming up with them for projects. For my father's newer neighbors, that means spreading the word about my father's amazing food to their customers.

"It's hard, but you know, at least you're putting your money back into the community," Arellano said. "It's a hard walk to walk, but you should try to walk it regardless."

But seeing her budding bump underneath all that dress had us wondering: when is the expectant mother due?

She's skipped curve-hugging clothing, opting instead for flowy pieces with details that pack a punch.

Throughout her pregnancy, the "Bodak Yellow" rapper continues to rock typically fun pieces, like the minidress with a super-poufy tulle skirt she wore to the iHeartRadio Music Awards, the sexy black dress and cropped trench coat she rocked during New York Fashion Week, and her Fashion Nova pieces, too. Jennifer Lopez's Met Gala Dress Is Already Up For Auction For the Best Reason

Balmain's Olivier Rousteing kicked off Monday, May 7 (otherwise known as Met Gala Monday), with a very important announcement: all the looks he created for the 2018 ball are being auctioned off for charity as part of a partnership with (RED) to fight against AIDS. Olivier dressed Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez, Trevor Noah, Juliette Binoche, Natalia Vodianova, Natasha Poly, and Julia Stegner, and their sexy-as-hell outfits start at a $5K bidding price online.

One-hundred percent of proceeds will go to the Global Fund, which aims to prevent the transmission of HIV during birth. Olivier talks about the collaboration in a video that you can check out below - and see all angles of the ensembles on the red carpet, all of which the designer confirms were heavily influenced by the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination" theme.

"I'm inspired by religion. More than that, I'm inspired by love . . . I told my team, 'I know that these [looks] won't be ours at the end. But they're going to auction for (RED).' I wanted to make the most memorable clothes not just by their craftsmanship, embroidery, or cut, but because all of that would go toward helping kids survive. That was the point: to make the most spectacular creations to get the most money to save the most lives," Olivier told Refinery29.

Leave it to Selena Gomez to make her Met Gala look super personalized. The starlet walked the red carpet in a custom Coach gown that had us in a spell. To fit the night's theme, "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination," Selena had her favorite Bible verse embroidered onto her ethereal gown, but that's not all.

After taking a closer look at her matching Coach handbag, we noticed there was a message written on it as well. Selena's bag was etched with the phrase, "A woman who fears the Lord is a woman who shall be praised." Angelina Who? Jennifer Lopez Shows the World How to Rock an Exposed Leg

Though it wouldn't be the first time Jennifer Lopez was dubbed a heavenly creature, she most definitely embodied one at this year's Met Gala. Sticking close to the event's theme, the singer nailed the Met Gala red carpet in Tiffany & Co. jewelry and a Balmain dress that was emblazoned in a crystal cross. Chest cutouts and a strong-shoulder silhouette added drama to the look, but nothing could distract from the gown's sinful slit. Well, that's if you're not counting her date, Alex Rodriguez, who also wore Balmain. Just like a lot of other Met Gala dresses, Jennifer's had a gorgeous feathery train that looked great from all angles. Keep reading to see it for yourselves.

Your Oscars Crush, Eiza González, Has Graced the Met Gala in a Sexy Nun's Habit

Eiza González checked all the boxes as she attended the Met Gala on Monday night in New York City. She donned her "Sunday's best" and kept with the theme of this year's Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute gala and looked fierce while doing so!

The theme of the biggest night in fashion was "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination," inspired by the museum's newest exhibit, curated by Andrew Bolton. With religious inspiration and Catholic symbols in high supply at the gala, Eiza went for a more obvious religious nod: the nun.

OK, the Baby Driver actress doesn't look like any nun we've seen at church or at a Catholic high school, but she is giving off major nun-like vibes. Her Prabal Gurung ensemble showed off two sides - the pure and the sexy - and we love both parts. She went sexy with the black, tight-fitting gown and gloves while her white cap resembles that of a traditional nun. To add to her already sleek look, she donned gorgeous blue jewels. Plus, if you look closely, you'll see a trail of shimmering tears on her face . . . symbolic? Who knows, but we love her entire look!

Selena Gomez Rocked a Bank Vault's Worth of Gold to the Met Gala - on Her Face

Selena Gomez didn't channel a church, the pope, or even a famous hymn for her 2018 Met Gala beauty look. Instead, she channeled a cherub for the "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination" theme - perhaps the most heavenly body there is! The star's glam squad used a veritable bank vault's worth of gold for her molten eye shadow, and Gomez's bronzed tan stood out against the white of her angel robes gown. But most cherubic of all was her hairstyle, which she wore in short, cropped ringlets.
