This is Hands Down the Comfiest Strapless Bra I've Ever Owned

If you consider your second career to be "professional bridesmaid" like myself, you can understand the struggle in finding a strapless bra. Inevitably, you will be asked to wear some type of strapless monstrosity - er, dress - which will then live forever in photographs. I learned early on to avoid strapless dresses for a variety of reasons: they rarely stayed put when I'd break into choreography for "Bye Bye Bye," and the bra was always a nightmare to wear. You can always go without a bra, but frankly, I wasn't a huge fan of the nipple chafing. (You know the pain if you've been through this before.)

While you can't necessarily pick the dress you have to wear when you're a bridesmaid, the least you can do is pick a strapless bra that won't drive you to hanger-level rage by the end of the night, right? Learn from me. Lively, the intimates brand I replaced my entire bra and underwear drawer with, just launched the new No-Wire Strapless Bra ($35). I'd rather wear no bra at all than have to deal with pulling up or a bust-pinching strapless situation, but this one is so comfortable that I would happily lounge or sleep in it.

I have a laundry list of issues with normal strapless accoutrements, but this bra solves all of them. First off: there will be no pulling or tugging happening here. There's a no-slip strip on the bra to keep it from falling but also to keep the material from rubbing or chafing your bust area. And there are four security hooks to help with slipping, too.

Because there's no wire in the bra, you can bend it, roll it - whatever you need - and it won't distort the shape of the bra, which makes it great for storage and traveling. And one of my biggest peeves is when a bra juts out from my actual breast, leaving room between me and the bra. It's obvious underneath clothes and makes it more likely to fall downwards. Admittedly, a lot of this has to do with sizing, but because it's only lightly padded, you don't feel like you're wearing breast enhancements. Instead, the bra gives you some shape and helps to keep you from nipping.

And sizing can be a nightmare, right? Lively offers sizes from 32A to 38DD, but before you hop online to purchase the size you normally choose, I'd definitely use their sizing guide to help you. I actually go up a cup size but down around my bust, which helps with the comfort level.

Have I sold you yet? No? What if I told you this bra was $35? I know it can be a gamble buying bras off the internet, but they have a great return policy, and for less than $40, it's worth giving it a try. Last week, I bought a trio of bras plus three undies for $100! Can you tell I'm a huge fan of this brand? So take my advice: get the bra, and live your best life.

Meghan Markle, Chill Bride, Reportedly Won't Have a Wedding Makeup Artist

Weird: my invite to the May 19 royal wedding of Meghan Markle and Price Harry must have gotten lost in the mail. Another person who reportedly won't attend? According to the UK's Express, Meghan has nixed the idea of hiring a makeup artist for her big day. In an attempt to maintain some "normalcy," the former Suits star may forgo professional help and instead enlist friends to help her get ready.

If this sounds familiar, it's because Meghan is taking a page out of her future sister-in-law Kate Middleton's beauty playbook. When Kate walked down the aisle of Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011, to marry Prince William, she did so in makeup applied by her very own hands. Though the low-key duchess took prewedding lessons from makeup artist Arabella Preston to perfect her technique, that rose blush and lip look was all her own doing.

Meghan's following suit - sort of. Although she's ditching a pro, the British paper reported that she's tapped two friends to help her in the cosmetics department. As a source said, "She's got two friends doing it for her from America. They're not professionals - just close friends of hers." The pair will even stay at Windsor Castle to prep for the nuptials, where "they will be put up in the staff accommodation" and basically live out our Downton Abbey fantasy.

We'll just have to wait and see what's in store for Meghan's beautiful face, but regardless, we know that the future duchess and lifelong beauty-lover will probably have a huge say in what products are used. She's copped to loving Chanel eyeliner, Nars blush, and Yves Saint Laurent concealer, to name a few, so we're sure her eventual face chart will be as glam as it gets.

6 Signs Your Bottle of Wine's Gone Bad

Not all wine is ideal for storing. If it's been in contact with air for too long or has a tainted cork, the liquid inside has turned and should not be consumed. Here are a handful of telltale signs that might indicate a good wine has gone bad.

  • The smell is off. If a wine's aroma is moldy or resembles a musty basement, wet cardboard, or vinegar, it's turned. A heavy raisin smell is another bad signal.
  • The red wine tastes sweet. If the bottle of red wine has the aroma of Port or tastes like dessert wine (even though it is neither of those two things), it has been overexposed to heat, and is therefore undrinkable.
  • The cork is pushed out slightly from the bottle. That's a sign the wine has overheated and expanded within the bottle.
  • The wine is a brownish color. A brown hue in red wine demonstrates that the liquid is past its prime. White wines that have darkened to a deep yellow or brownish straw color are usually oxidized.
  • You detect astringent or chemically flavors. Wine that lacks fruit, is raspy, too astringent, or has a paint-thinner taste is usually bad.
  • It tastes fizzy, but it's not a sparkling wine. A still wine that is fizzy or effervescent has undergone a second fermentation after the bottling and shouldn't be enjoyed.

One last word of advice: Always smell and examine the actual liquid. Although the term "corked" commonly refers to tainted wine, inspecting the cork alone will not determine if the wine has gone bad. Use your other senses. Have you ever had an undrinkable bottle of wine? How did you know it was questionable?

The Secret to Making Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur at Home

The True Confessions of an Ex-Vegan

A rescued Thanksgiving turkey and me, in 2010, having been vegan for just over two years

I am a food editor who is a former hard-core vegan. Today I may eat the worldwide gamut of food, but if you had talked to me between the ages of 19 and 22, I would have turned my nose at anything containing dairy, eggs, seafood, or meat. For two and a half years of my three-year stint as a vegan, I lived in Los Angeles, the land of celebrities, yogis, and health-conscious people in general. Every corner had a vegan restaurant and green juice joint, and there was fresh kale and berries aplenty, year-round. I felt utterly convinced that I was doing the right thing for the planet, for animals, and for my health. However, all that changed when I moved to New York City upon graduating college.

I always knew I wanted to be a food writer/editor, so I packed my bags and headed to New York City to attend a plant-based culinary school. "What sort of food writer is vegan?" my mom exasperatedly questioned me. I never saw it as a limitation, even when I dined at some of the finest restaurants in the world. In fact, I believed the best chefs were the ones who could produce a vegan tasting menu full of creative, interesting flavors, rather than simply serve a plate of steamed broccoli. I still think this is true.

When I arrived in New York City, I immediately immersed myself in the vegan community. I worked as a chocolatier in a vegan chocolate/wine shop, attended yoga classes every day at a notoriously vegan studio, and joined all the vegan meetups I could. My weight (and energy) were at all-time lows, yet I attributed it to my busy schedule and the rigor of city life. The only thing I couldn't handle was the hunger. Sure, being vegan, I felt my stomach grumble every couple of hours, though in New York, I felt painfully hungry constantly.

And then, I started dreaming of steak. I mean, x-rated, slow-mo, sizzling food-porn dreams. I'd wake up in a panic and run to the kitchen to stuff myself with spoonfuls of peanut butter, pea protein powder smoothies, and leftover lentils. Despite attempting to eat every type of vegan protein known to mankind, I'd always leave the kitchen unsatisfied, salivating, and angry because I still envisioned a big hunk of charcoal-grilled steak with bloody juices seeping onto the plate.

"If your body is trying to tell you on a subconscious level that it needs the nutrients from a steak, then listen to it."

I was in such a conflicted state. Perhaps it was part pride (I'm saving the environment; emotional, sentient beings; and myself by being vegan) and part fear (how can I face my job, my yoga studio, my vegan friends, and my vegan sister if I decide to quit?). I neglected those steak dreams for three months before I finally booked an appointment with Annemarie Colbin, the founder of Natural Gourmet Institute, who has a Ph.D. in holistic nutrition.

I told her my predicament. "I'm vegan and I'm dreaming of steak," I shamefully admitted. She looked at me amused. "Then you must eat steak," she responded matter-of-factly. I exasperatedly explained, "You don't understand. I can't just eat steak. I've made a commitment! Isn't there some bean-grain combo that can give me the nutrients I need and make these dreams disappear?!" She shook her head. "If your body is trying to tell you on a subconscious level that it needs the nutrients from a steak, then listen to it."

I didn't listen to her then. Instead, I tried to deny the truth and became obsessive about which grains to pair with which beans to form complete proteins. Nothing was working. Then, I started to dream of salmon, too. Flaky, Asian-glazed salmon with a crisp skin. Waking up from those dreams was agonizing, and I'd shlep to the kitchen to eat my sad, slimy bowl of sprouted amaranth cereal.

Right before Christmas, a few friends from culinary school planned a trip to go to a farm in upstate New York to learn how to slaughter chickens. Despite growing up around hunting camps and hunters, never in my life would I have considered killing an animal for food. I was so ravenously hungry, the thought of doing so excited me. My primal needs to hunt and eat meat were kicking in. Though I didn't join them on that trip, it was a turning point. It was time to break up with veganism.

Me, in June 2014, at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen

I went home for the holidays and spoke to my vegan sister. While we were getting ready for Christmas dinner, I whispered to her, "I think I'm going to eat a steak on New Year's." Eyeing my ghostly complexion and exposed ribs, she didn't even blink before saying, "Yeah, that's a good idea." I don't know why I needed that green light, but I did. No one in my family, save for my sister, thought I'd actually go for a filet mignon on New Year's, until the waiter took my order, and I said, "I'll take the eight-ounce, medium." And that was that.

I watched the plate of steaming steak waltz through the dining room until it finally landed in front of me. The caramelized crust, the bloody juices, and the unmistakeable, smoky aroma matched the steak of my dreams. And that first bite - lord have mercy - that first bite couldn't have been more perfect. I danced in my seat with giddiness, feeling rebellious and relieved all at once. A lot of people claim that going back to meat can be upsetting on the stomach, but I didn't have a single problem. The same went for returning to dairy.

The biggest challenge of giving up veganism was realizing how much I had let it define me and influence my relationships. I became aware of how enraged and difficult I was. Over the past few years, I didn't have much compassion toward fellow humans, and I blamed them for factory farming and their lack of consciousness. I demanded that my friends and family go to vegan restaurants and questioned them for their eating habits constantly.

Today, I think I have a much healthier approach to food and, most importantly, to fellow humans. I tend to sway toward fresh produce, legumes, and grains, with some meat, seafood, dairy, and eggs, of course. I support my local farmers and fishers so that hopefully there will be better options in the world and fewer factory farms. Sure, wild, grass-fed, and organic is way more expensive, but it feels better to me to eat higher quality less of the time than to eat meat for every meal.

This experience taught me that my body is constantly evolving. What works in one city, in one period of my life, may not work in another. It's all about being open, experimenting, and seeking the guidance of professionals when necessary. Oh, and creating balance. The key word is definitely balance.

How 1 Couple Built the Dreamiest Tiny Cabin For Just $700 - Yes, You Read That Correctly

Our undying obsession with tiny homes has officially been taken to the next level, thanks to one crafty couple in Montana. Photographer Alla Ponomareva and her husband, Garret, recently constructed their own teeny-tiny cabin in the woods, and it only cost them about $700 and took three weeks, from start to finish. Yes, you read that correctly - we're just as impressed as you are!

Designed by tiny-home expert Derek Diedricksen, the A-frame dwelling only takes up 80 square feet and is packed with gorgeous features. Situated on top of a wooden deck with added room for chairs and plants, the triangular cabin has one wall that's both transparent (for ample natural light) and retractable (so it lifts up to open the indoor space a bit more). Plus, the roof has a solar panel attached, in case cabin visitors need to charge their phone at night.

The interior is decorated with a mint and coral motif and includes two beds that can be either separate or pushed together. By the window, there's shelf space for plenty of belongings like plates, utensils, and a portable burner. As the bite-size abode was only intended to be a guest house for Alla and Garret's actual home nearby, it doesn't have running water or a toilet, though those amenities are available in the woods nearby.

So how on earth did this dreamy masterpiece only cost $700 to put together? Alla explained on her blog that she and her husband had tons of leftover materials from past projects, such as nails, windows, and boards, which they upcycled when constructing the cabin. Sounds like it totally pays off to have a "junk" pile of old materials lying around if you're a DIY addict like this couple!

Ready to be mesmerized by the cutest tiny cabin ever? Read on for more pictures of this mini slice of secluded paradise, and be sure to visit Alla's blog for more details on how they got the impressive job done.

Everyone Can Fly First Class in Their Lifetime: Here's How

If you're flying to a different country, first class is the way to go. Fold-flat seats, top-shelf cocktails, chef-curated fare, and other luxuries await. Rather than arriving sleep-deprived and a little disheveled, your international vacation begins rested, fed, and ready to tackle the sights.

But let's cut to the chase - first-class tickets are also incredibly expensive. We're talking typical fares ranging anywhere from $3,000 up to $10,000+ for a round-trip flight. So unless you're a celebrity or international businessperson, you might think seat 1A is simply out of reach. But fear not! Luckily, it is possible to snag a first-class seat without burning thousands of dollars. With some help from travel experts, here are our tips for securing a first-class travel experience without maxing out your credit card. Another glass of Champagne, please?

  1. Miles, miles, miles. Save them! You can find excellent deals on first-class seats with miles. Even if you're not an avid traveler, it is possible to rack up enough miles over time. Remember that with most airlines, your miles will expire if there isn't any account activity in a predetermined amount of time. If you fly at least once or twice a year, you'll be good to go. To avoid the risk all together, consider an airline without a mileage expiration date (like Delta).
  2. Get carded. Consider a travel credit card with a generous sign-up bonus. Saving 120,000 miles for a round-trip first-class ticket to Europe might sound steep if you don't fly a lot, but when you get half of them simply by signing up, it feels much more attainable.
  3. Hunt for special offers. Most credit cards will run temporary promotions that double (or more) the standard sign-up bonus. And don't limit your search to only airline credit cards. Many cards have partnerships with airlines and will allow you to transfer your points into miles. Some even offer airport lounge access - totally worth it if you're a frequent flier.
  4. Can I charge that? Amie O'Shaughnessy, founder and CEO of Ciao Bambino, reminds travelers that unexpected things can be charged. "Choose the card that has the most airline relationships and at least offers one-to-one conversions for points to miles, and charge everything on it. Property tax, DMV fee, doctors, home and personal service providers - everyone takes cards these days, so take advantage of that. Miles can accumulate fast."
  5. Make a transfer. Check to see if your current credit card allows you transfer points into miles. Clem Bason, CEO of goSeek.com and the former president of Hotwire, advises researching the transfer policies first, as it's favorable for some airlines and less so for others.
  6. Get creative with Google Flights. Rob Harper of Costa Rican Vacations suggests opening up your search to find the best deal. "Rather than selecting an arrival city, search best price on business/first class by selecting the region. For example, if you're heading to Spain, rather than searching for business class flights to Madrid or Barcelona, use the "Search Europe" feature to see if you can simply get to the continent on a cheaper first-class rate. Then, you can just take a 'puddle jumper' to your primary destination."
  7. Keep your eye on the deals. Bason recommends regularly checking for sales year round. "The big international airlines typically have [sales] once or twice a year. American and British Airways are famous for it. When those airlines launch the fare sale, use Google Flights to scan travel dates to find the best prices."
  8. Go through a travel agent. Alex Dalton of Travel With Alex, Inc. advises, "Look for an agency that has a preferred relationship with a consolidator that does international first-class travel. They have access to deals that can blow away published fares. The consolidator won't work with the public, so you have to use a travel agent to get those deals."
  9. Go cruising. If you're planning on setting sail once you arrive at your destination, ask the cruise line if they can offer any special rates on first-class airfare. Dalton adds, "The cruise lines strike deals with airlines to get reduced business and first-class tickets to sell to their clients that sail with them."
  10. When all else fails, just ask! Mery Calderon of Kuoda Travel encourages travelers to remember the power of a smile. "If you're a frequent flyer on a particular airline, but don't have top status, try your luck at asking! Show up early, look presentable, and request a complimentary upgrade. A sunny attitude and little luck can go a long way (and yes, it does happen!)."

11 Things Not Worth the Money

You work hard for your money, so spending it on things that just aren't worth it is a total waste. When it comes down to it, you're better off putting your cash toward some expenses than throwing it away on others. I'd rather put my money elsewhere than spend it on these 11 things that aren't worth it to me.

Why Portland, OR, Is the Coolest City in the US

Known for its funky vibes, farm-to-table cuisine, craft beer, and one-too-many forest hikes to count, there is no surprise why so many people move to Portland after the first visit. I won't lie - the thought even rippled through my mind a couple of times, too.

So what is it about this city that's different from other urban destinations? Well, to put it simply: everything. Portland soars above the rest when it comes to its creativity, culture, and livability, which is why so many are calling it America's best city.

Just a few weeks ago, I made my way to this Oregon oasis, and it didn't take long before I caught the infectious Portland fever. The exploding crafts scene, the never-ending culinary choices, the close proximity of both ocean and mountains - woven together into one place. Of course, I took the city's bait and was left hooked. Intrigued. Wanting more. But no, I haven't relocated. Instead, I decided to churn my adoration into a massive city guide so you can experience the greatness of Portland, too. Tackling everything from "where to stay" and "where to eat" to "what to do" and "where to find the best outdoor adventure" - it's all right here. Get ready to pack your bags!

11 Ingenious Pampered Chef Products That Will Make Cooking So Much Easier

Admittedly, I barely know how to cook. When I successfully make a delicious meal without burning myself or the food, I consider it an enormous accomplishment and send a proud photo to my parents and post it to Instagram for all to see. One brand that has helped me hone my food skills significantly, however, is Pampered Chef.

The brand was founded in 1980 with the aim of making cooking easier and more enjoyable, and so far I've been super impressed by the products. Each item is designed with what seems to be every possible use and solution in mind. The line features pans with removable handles (for easy storage!) that are dishwasher safe and gadgets that help to solve every kitchen problem imaginable. Thanks to the brand, my learning process has gone smoothly and hasn't resulted in any severe injuries yet.

39 Powerful Quotes That Will Change the Way You Live and Think

Words have power - and these inspiring quotes are guaranteed to challenge the way you think and perhaps even change the way you live.

What You Should Do If You're Stumped During an Interview

When you don't know how to answer a question during an interview, the silence can seem excruciating. You might even wish the floor would open up and swallow you whole. Not to worry, though - keep these tips in mind the next time you're strapped for an answer.

1. Calm down.

First of all, the most important thing to do is stay calm. If you start freaking out, your body will begin reacting physiologically. For example, your blood pressure will start rising, and your heart may race. Once you start a stress response, you won't be thinking clearly, and you may throw out answers without thinking. Take deep breaths, and tell yourself that it's OK to not know the answer to the question. You'll just have to work through it; there's nothing you can do to change things, but you need to stay calm to find the right answer.

2. Don't say, "I don't know," off the bat. And don't make stuff up.

You should not tell the interviewer you don't know the answer without mulling it over. Then again, be careful not to make stuff up, because your interviewer can see right through that.

3. Ask questions.

Maybe it's the question you don't understand. Ask your interviewer to clarify what she said. Go deeper into the question to see if you can get more details that will help you figure it out.

4. Tell your interviewer what you do know.

If you do have some knowledge of the question, then take the time to tell your interviewer what you do know of the situation. Saying everything out loud can start you on the process of figuring out the problem.

5. Tell them how you would find the answer.

Even if you don't know what the answer is, you can tell the interviewer the steps you would take to figure out the problem. Interviewers ask you hard questions because they want to see what your thought process is. Sometimes, the thought process may be more important than the actual answer. They want to see that you can take initiative and have the resources to come up with a solution on your own, instead of needing someone to hold your hand through problems. While you're trying to find the solution, you can admit to not knowing certain parts; this way, you come off as being honest, and the hiring manager will know you are not trying to fake it. For example, if you need to calculate something and you're not good at math, you can respond with "I can't do the calculations off the top of my head, but I think these calculations will give me the answer. And what I can do is use a calculator to find that answer." Showing a little honesty shows vulnerability and transparency. It also makes you more likable.

6. Know the right time to come clean.

Although we mentioned not admitting to the interviewer that you don't know the answer, there is an exception to this rule. If the answer is something that you will only know through memorization, such as a definition of the word, then it's probably best to admit that you don't know the answer, as it may be impossible to figure it out independently. Here's what you can tell the interviewer: "It's a good question, but I'm sorry, I don't have the answer off the top of my head. I will be sure to follow up with the answer after the interview."

7. Send a follow-up email.

The follow-up email for an interview could become your second chance. Try to talk about the answer you were stumped on, but be smooth when you're talking about it. And make sure you're only naming the mistakes your interviewer caught and not drawing attention to the ones she did not catch. Don't say something like "I'm sorry I did not know the answer to that question." Instead, tell her that after more time and thought, you managed to come up with a couple of solutions that could work for the problem.

The Ultimate Harry Potter Travel Bucket List

I Cut This Out of My Diet to Lose Weight and, No, It's Not Carbs

I'd always believed that things like coconut oil and olive oil were part of a healthy diet. I ate them regularly with just about every meal - I cooked with olive oil, spread coconut oil on my toast, and drizzled avocado oil on my hummus. A few months ago, though, I learned that oil is technically not part of a whole-foods, plant-based diet. I was shocked to learn that there was virtually no nutritional value to the oils that we're so used to eating on a daily basis.

Julieanna Hever, MS, RD, CPT, a plant-based dietician and health and fitness expert, confirmed that this is true. "Oils are a processed food," Hever told POPSUGAR. "Basically, the fat is stripped out of the intact food (be it an olive, coconut, or avocado), leaving behind the fiber and many other nutrients."

Hever also reminded us that oil "contains 120 calories per tablespoon, almost 2,000 calories per cup!" But even worse than that, there isn't any satiating fiber in oil, so eating oil regularly is an easy way to consume way more calories than your body needs - and that can quickly lead to weight gain.

This was hard for me to believe at first, but I decided to go cold turkey and cut out all oil from my diet. It was strange at the beginning. I thought I wouldn't be able to roast vegetables or even sauté an onion. You'd be surprised, though, to find that lots of foods release their own natural water or oil, so you don't even need something like olive oil to cook most things. For example, onion naturally contains oil that's responsible for its smell and taste, and you can see it being slightly released when you sauté it in a pan with nothing else. Besides, if I felt like some foods were sticking too much to the pan while I was cooking, I would simply add a little bit of water.

After two months of eating no oil at home and very little oil while eating out, I noticed my belly was a bit flatter than it was before. It was a small change, but it was a gradual one that became more noticeable over time.

That being said, healthy fats are an important part of our diet, and Hever says we shouldn't ignore them completely. "The best food sources of healthy, disease-fighting fats are nuts and seeds," she said. "We only need about one to two ounces a day to meet our essential fatty acid requirements." You can also opt in for some avocado in your dish rather than cooking with oil.

I upped my intake of avocado after I gave up oil, while also logging in all my food to the macros app on my phone to make sure I was getting enough healthy fats. Between avocado, almonds, and chia and flaxseeds, I was getting more than enough of what I needed.

"Because of their high caloric density, I recommend minimizing intake of oils," Hever said. It could save you a lot of empty calories that you really don't need.

Why This Doctor Recommends Keto (With a Catch)

Would clinical nutritionist Dr. Josh Axe, DNM, DC, CNC, recommend the keto diet? "Absolutely," he told POPSUGAR. But there is a catch. You can't do it forever.

A brief refresher, if you don't already know: the keto diet is a high-fat, moderate-protein, low-carb diet in which you switch your body's primary energy source from carbohydrates to fat (i.e., from glucose to ketones). Up to 80 percent of your calories come from fat - we're not kidding when we say high-fat! That's what differentiates this diet from something like Paleo or Atkins - they're both low-carb, but with keto, the emphasis is on the fats.

"I don't think somebody should be on a full ketogenic diet for more than three months," he said. "What I teach is not that everybody should be on a ketogenic diet - the basis of what I teach is traditional Chinese medicine, or TCM - but if somebody has the goal of overcoming epilepsy, fighting cancer, overcoming blood sugar issues like diabetes, losing weight, or even some hormonal issues, the ketogenic diet is a great temporary diet."

"Everybody is different; depending on somebody's genetics, depending on somebody's health goals or struggles, certain people should be on certain diets," said Dr. Axe. For the patients he believes need the keto diet for what he calls "a breakthrough" in their health, he likes to limit it to three months.

"The ketogenic diet is a great temporary diet."

"When I put my patients on it, it has been for a maximum of three months. I know some people who have been on [the keto diet] and have done it for a year and done well with it. But I don't think people should be on a ketogenic diet fully for more than a year - absolutely not for more than a year."

His reasoning for this is rooted in human history and the biology of our ancestors. As Dr. Axe is a clinical nutritionist with methodology rooted in TCM, this totally makes sense. "If you look at the way our ancestors lived and ate, they would've been what I would call 'keto cycling' - going in and out of ketosis. Our ancestors - they weren't purely ketogenic, and we shouldn't be either. To be completely healthy and to fuel certain systems, going into ketosis can be healthy, but we do need carbohydrates in order for our systems to function."

Dr. Axe cited a handful of small but notable studies with really powerful results from the ketogenic diet, including one on 11 women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), two of whom had struggled with infertility due to the disease and both of whom became pregnant after going on the keto diet for 24 weeks. Though the studies have been on smaller groups, they show a strong promise for the diet's efficacy for certain health conditions.

Kristen Stewart's Crazy Bobby Pin Hairstyle Looks Entirely Different From the Back

The Cannes Film Festival is Kristen Stewart's Super Bowl. Not only did she (successfully) bring back the rat-tail hairstyle this year, but she also wore pearls as freakin' eyeliner and made a gasp-worthy fashion statement by taking off her heels on the red carpet. Now, during Thursday's amfAR Gala in France, it's the back of her head that has us in awe. From the front, one look at Kristen's curled, sweeping retro bangs and we're transported to the opening scene of 13 Going on 30 à la Jenna Rink. But with the turn of her head, her look reached an entirely new dimension.

Kristen's hair was tucked behind her ears with a railroad of crossed bobby pins, covering the whole lower portion of her head. We're no John Nash, but it looks like an entire pack of silver bobby pins was used to nail this badass look. This isn't the first time she's opted for a pin-covered hairstyle, as the actress went for a black bobby pin look with messy waves back in 2016. The 1 Foundation That Covered My Hives After an Allergic Reaction

A few weeks ago, I had an allergic reaction to a medication and woke up covered in hives from head to toe. I was completely freaked out that my usually clear skin had been taken over by large, red, splotchy bumps. I cried on the phone to my mom, sulked, and hid from the world.

When I realized I could no longer be a hermit (I'm a busy woman!), I panicked. I didn't want anyone, even my roommate, to see me like this. Eventually, I knew I had to stop being dramatic and accept my fate: I had to go out into public. In an effort to look less like a leper, I turned to Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation ($40), which promised to cover hyperpigmentation and redness, and prayed that it would cover my rash.

I grabbed my trusted Beautyblender ($20) and started dotting the liquid on my face, trying not to cry. To my surprise, it completely covered the hundreds of hives that had conquered my complexion. Although I still had a skin texture I can only describe as lumpy, I felt so much better. I thanked the makeup gods (and Huda Kattan) that this had worked, put on a hoodie, and went out in public for the first time in days.

Since then, my hives have thankfully gone away and I am no longer sick. However, my devotion to Huda's foundation is still going strong. The formula is silky-smooth, packed with pigment, and doesn't fade throughout the day. If it can cover hives, it can definitely handle my ordinary breakouts. I recently wore it for a photo shoot, and my skin looks incredible in the photos.

While I hope I never have hives again, at least I now know what product I can turn to in a skin emergency.

How to Get Meghan Markle's Royal Hair Color, According to a Pro

Right now, Meghan Markle is everything. It's no wonder so many of us are crushing on her: not only is she about to live out every little (and big) girl's fantasy by becoming a princess, but she's also giving, effortlessly chic, and down-to-earth - as per her former makeup artist, her only beauty request is to let her freckles shine through - and she's got a mane so glorious we're all taking notes on how to replicate it.

Although, quite sadly, we all can't personally marry Prince Harry, we can get Meghan's hair color. I turned to one of LA's top celebrity colorists, Amanda George, the founder of the appropriately named ROIL - pronounced "royal" and even emblazoned with a little crown! - hair care and its accompanying global beauty salons, for help turning my royal hair fantasy into a reality.

George, who happens to hail from the UK, gave me tips on how to give both brunettes and blondes Meghan's rich chestnut hue. "For a girl who is already a brunette that wants Meghan's hair color, we would firstly even out her hair color with a Redken Shades EQ in the level 5, add a few babylights and tips, then regloss with a nice chocolaty brown in a level 6/7 L'Oreal Richesse," she told POPSUGAR.

"For a girl who is blond, going to Meghan's color is more complicated," she continues. "The hair must first be filled with a warm gold, then the color evened out with a nice neutral brown. The same process can be repeated with babylights and tips, this time finishing with a Redken Shades EQ warm brown glaze level 6/7."

George also gives us tips on how to get Meghan's perfectly coiffed 'do. "To style your hair like Meghan's, we would wash your hair using the ROIL Shine Shampoo ($36) and ROIL Shine Conditioner ($43). Then, we would evenly apply Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil ($55), section the hair up, and dry with an Ibiza round brush ($44) for body and bend. For a wavier look, wrap sections of freshly blown hair around a medium-size curling iron. Shake, tousle, style, and spray and be on your way."

Who knows? You might even bag your own prince . . .

Someone Call 911 - Iskra Lawrence's Sexy Swimsuit Just Set Our Screens on Fire

Another day, another fire-emoji-worthy bikinigram courtesy of the reigning swimsuit queen herself, Iskra Lawrence. The curve model has been sharing her fair share of picture-perfect snapshots from a heavenly getaway in the Maldives, and her latest 'gram is sure to give you a major case of swimsuit envy.

After sporting a blush Aerie swimsuit for a casual scuba diving adventure with some sharks, Iskra slipped into a gray snap-button bikini top with matching high-waisted bottoms - and hot DAYUM, she looked divine. She left the top two buttons of her two-piece undone to fully put her assets on display and styled her swimsuit with a pair of metallic hoop earrings before posing in front of the crystal-clear waters of the Maldives.

"Tryna outshine this background is hard work," she wrote when sharing her bikini snap on Instagram. (Um, yeah - we'd say she accomplished that mission!)

This isn't the first time Iskra has sported this bikini style, as she wore this very similar button-up suit in a different color. Both styles unfortunately aren't available for purchase on Aerie.com yet, so we found a few similar selections - just in case you want to emulate Iskra's latest look for your next beach outing.

Meghan Markle Wore a Prim and Proper Bodysuit to Her Wedding Rehearsal - Need Us to Repeat That?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry arrived to their wedding rehearsal in Windsor, and it was Meghan's diamonds that glowed from the backseat. She chose Birks Snowflake Earrings in 18K white gold for the occasion, confirmed on the Canadian brand's Twitter page. The jewels are worth a whopping $12,000, and they definitely made for a pretty pairing with her unique engagement ring.

But surprise, surprise, Meghan employed yet another nifty fashion trick. The bride-to-be worked a Tuxe Bodywear silk bodysuit as the foundation of her look - not a plain sophisticated dress, and maybe not quite what everybody was expecting. But then again, Meghan tends to shake up the scene with her outfit, which is why we can only imagine the possibilities for her wedding dress. Ahead, catch a glimpse of Meghan arriving to make final arrangements, then shop her shirt.
