Pentatonix Has a Brand New Mashup in Store, and It Includes 2 of Your Favorite Songs

It's always a party when Pentatonix hits the stage! The a cappella group is set to perform during A Capitol Fourth on CBS, and it already sounds incredible. Not only does the event serve as an unofficial kick off for their upcoming Summer tour, which starts on July 12, but they'll also be performing a brand new mashup of "Stay" by Zedd and Alessia Cara, and "The Middle" by Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey. Ahead of their performance, POPSUGAR talked exclusively with Scott Hoying about everything from creating the new mashup to their upcoming tour and how the group has evolved over the past seven years. See what he had to say ahead, and be sure to set your DVRs on July 4 for Pentatonix's special performance on CBS.

POPSUGAR: There is an incredible group of performers on the lineup for A Capitol Fourth. Who are you most excited to see?
Scott Hoying: I'm superexcited to hear The Temptations and The Beach Boys. That's iconic. I grew up listening to The Beach Boys, and I've actually never seen them live, so that will be really cool.

PS: Pentatonix is also performing a brand new mashup for the event. What is the process like when you create a mashup?
SH: We try to take the most special parts of both songs, and then combine them. With this, we already had an arrangement of "Stay" by itself, but we added "The Middle" just because they are similar songs in how they're produced. I think that mashups are always just a little more engaging than just a song by itself, because there are more melodies and more to enjoy.

PS: You've done a lot of holiday events over the years, including your Christmas special on NBC last year. How would you say performing at special events is different from performing on tour?
SH: It's a little different because sometimes with these events, it's not all our fans. It's a lot of new people who don't always know our music. So, it's a little less energetic that our tour, because our tour is all of our hardcore fans, so they're screaming at the top of their lungs. But both are special in different ways. Sometimes tour is a little less nerve-wracking, because you do the same thing every single night, so it's muscle memory. At Capitol Fourth, it will be our first time ever performing this mashup, but we've rehearsed it a lot, so we're feeling good about it.

PS: In addition to preparing for this event, you've also been busy rehearsing for your Summer tour. What has it been like juggling that?
SH: It's been crazy. We've literally rehearsed for 45 hours this week learning an hour-and-40-minute show. But what's awesome is that since we're a cappella, we can just practice during our breaks. While we're learning all of our choreography, we're singing the songs over and over and over, so that really helped. We had so many free moments during rehearsal that we could rehearse other stuff, so it hasn't been as stressful as you would think. When we're all together, we can work really quickly.

PS: How will this tour be different from past ones?
SH: It's so epic. I feel like from all of our tours, we've figured out what works and what doesn't work, so with this tour, it's like the best version of Pentatonix. There are a lot of really cool moments and a lot of really cool transitions. We do a couple of new things that we've never done before that I don't want to give away, but it's so much fun. There are a ton of covers, but we still do originals, too.

PS: Which song are you most excited to sing?
SH: There is a mashup of two of our originals that I'm really, really excited about, and I love doing "Imagine." Even in rehearsal, I get a little emotional when we sing it.

PS: You have all been doing a few side projects recently, like you and Mitch with Superfruit. What are you most looking forward to about being together again?
SH: The way it feels to sing with Pentatonix is so much fun. Every single time we get back together, when we sing through our first song to rehearse, we're all just like, "Oh my gosh, we missed this!" Everyone in the band is just so happy right now, so our dynamic as a band is so free and fun. We've been laughing and having the best time. Rehearsals feel like Summer camp. We're all really pumped for tour, because we're just very ready for it. I'm glad that everyone got to do their own solo thing. We all got to live our other dreams, which was good because it creatively refreshed us, and now we're back together, and we're recharged.

PS: This is also one of your first big tours with Matt Sallee. Have you given him any advice about what to expect or what to prepare for?
SH: We haven't even needed to give him that much advice because he was just born to do this. When we did the Christmas tour, we were kind of testing him out for three months to see if he could handle tour life, but he was just loving it. He has such a good attitude all the time. I feel like we really hit the jackpot with him.

PS: It's been almost seven years since you first performed on The Sing-Off. How would you say the group has evolved over the years?
SH: Oh man, it's evolved so much. Our sound has evolved and we as people have evolved. We've also mastered what we do, like in terms of communication and collaboration. We just have a language now. Musically, we've become better singers, and we tune better and arrange quicker now. Now, we can finish an album months faster than we used to be able to.

5 Tips For Sleeping Better With a Partner

When it comes to sleeping with your SO, you may get a bit frustrated. Heavy breathing, hogging the blankets, turning over every second: these are things that can really interfere with your zzz's. Yet, there are a few ways to make sleeping easier when next to someone and maybe even better than sleeping alone. Being close to your partner releases oxytocin, a "love" hormone, that can make you feel closer and sleep more soundly, so if you and your partner are in a good place romantically and can make your bedtime habits match up, you're in for a great slumber ahead. Here are a few tips for making sleeping with a partner better for your health and relationship.

Say No to Technology

Keep devices out of the bedroom. "[Often] couples in successful relationships don't bring their smartphones to bed with them. 'Phubbing,' or snubbing your partner in favor of your phone, is bad enough during the day, but you definitely don't want it to happen in the bedroom," says Chris Brantner, certified sleep science coach, to POPSUGAR.

What's more, partner or not, phones in bed aren't a good idea. "One recent survey showed that 66 percent of people look at their phones within 30 minutes of falling asleep. And more than 70 percent of people sleep with their phones next to them in their bedrooms," he says. "Looking at your phone in the dark dilates your pupils and lets more of the harsh light in, which in turn messes up your circadian rhythm by having a negative effect on melatonin production. That means less sleep for you and potentially your partner," he adds. Plus, if you lose sleep, you might be crankier toward each other come morning. (Yikes.)

Get the Right Mattress

"When you purchase a mattress, it's important to consider how you'll be able to sleep in it together," he says. "First, make sure your mattress is large enough to give you each plenty of room. From there, make sure you get a mattress that minimizes motion transfer so you don't easily wake one another up with movement," he explains. Lastly, you want to make sure you get a mattress that accommodates both of your sleeping styles, so you both snooze well. "A great option here is a mattress that allows you to adjust firmness on each side," he says. Here's a guide by Brantner.

Use Separate Blankets

It's nice to snuggle together under a warm blanket, but in your sleep, it's easy for the snuggling to turn into a tug of war with the blanket. "If you each have your own blanket, you're less likely to wake one another up tugging on it, and you're less likely to wake up cold in the middle of the night because your partner commandeered the whole thing," he says.

Have Sex Before Bed

There's good reason to jump into bed for a quickie before heading off to sleep. "A study out of CQUniversity Adelaide found that engaging in sex before bed leads to better sleep. Sexual activity that leads to climax releases endorphins and dopamine, both of which help reduce stress and calm the body," he says. This sets the stage for better sleep. "In fact, the study showed that 64 percent of people who had sex with a partner that led to climax had better sleep," he adds.

Have the Same Bed Time

It's important to go to bed at the same time, so you can fall asleep together, without waking the other up. "Seventy-five percent of couples don't go to bed together. That time when you fall asleep together is crucial for intimacy," he says. "In fact, research shows that couples whose sleep patterns are mismatched report more disagreement, less serious conversation, and less sex - all of which can affect sleep quality," he adds. Not only that, but also when you go to bed after your partner, you're likely to disturb their sleep by making noise, turning on lights, and moving around, which can create tension. Find a time you can agree on together, and stick with it.

These Lucky Fans Enjoyed an Elevator Sing-Along With the Backstreet Boys, and Oh My GOSH

Who knew the Backstreet Boys were such great pranksters? When the boy band paid a visit to the TRL studios in New York City, they surprised a handful of lucky MTV employees in the office elevators, and needless to say, the reactions were priceless. Brian Littrell kicked off the stunt by casually riding an elevator by himself when three unsuspecting ladies waltzed in and instantly recognized him. Soon after, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson, AJ McLean, and Nick Carter joined in on the fun and belted out a few BSB hits with different sets of elevator riders, including "I Want It That Way," "Everybody," and "As Long as You Love Me." Now that's one elevator ride I'd never want to end!

1 Look at Selena Gomez's Coach Bag, and It'll Be All You Dream About For the Next 3 Months

Selena Gomez has returned for her third Coach campaign, and one single look at the photos will take your breath away. Shot by Steven Meisel, the label's Fall 2018 ads pay homage to Coach's home, New York City, with an eclectic mix of vintage wallpaper prints, prairie lace dresses, biker jackets, and teddy-bear style shearling coats that Selena has always been a fan of.

While we were immediately drawn to the star's romantic dresses, it's her Dreamer bag - a new silhouette featuring this season's signature print - that truly caught our eye. Showcasing Coach's heritage in a modern way, it features mystic roses, moths, and floral skulls, which were dreamed up by designer Stuart Vevers and artist Chelsea Champlain.

"I love the way that we have pushed the Coach gang further this season to be more unique, diverse and just overall cool in their attitude," explains Vevers, who also collaborated with brand ambassadors Timmy Xu, Guan Xiao Tong, and Kiko Mizuhara. "It's how I see people here in New York enjoying wearing clothes and just feels really relevant to me." Read on for a first look at the brand's gorgeous Fall campaign.

Of Course Emily Ratajkowski's Bikini Is Sexy - but It's Also What You Were Least Expecting

Emily Ratajkowski let followers know she made it to her vacation destination on Instagram. She shared a bikini snap of herself in a contrast bandeau from Donni ($79) and army green cargo pants - not a bad idea for a pre-sun cover-up.

The supermodel flaunted a suit we hadn't seen before, and while she's mostly been styling looks from her own collection, Inamorata Swim, this knotted design, finished with a khaki-colored trim, is just a new addition to her own personal wardrobe.

Emily completed her beach day ensemble with round sunglasses and a chunky gold pendant necklace. Read on for another glimpse of her neutral-toned top, then shop it for yourself, along with similar black two-pieces with eye-catching swatches of color to keep in your Summer rotation.

3 Reasons This Is the Worst Season of The Bachelorette Yet

When Becca Kufrin was dumped at the end of last season's The Bachelor by Arie Luyendyk Jr., my heart was absolutely broken for her. This was a woman who was so clearly head over heels for her new fiancé and who was excited about what the future held for them. Then that future was ripped from underneath her . . . while the entire world watched aghast.

The only positive that came from the entire heartbreaking debacle was the fact that she would become the franchise's newest bachelorette, and you can bet 2 million roses that I was here. for. her. season.

To Becca's credit, she's been pretty incredible so far. She asks the right questions, eighty-sixes guys the second she's not feeling it (remember her Minnesota friend in the premiere and Jean Blanc's cringey exit?), and she's taking this whole "journey to find love" thing pretty damn seriously. The only problem is that ABC isn't living up to its part.

Sure, this is a TV show that - in order for it to succeed and for us to even want to watch - must be entertaining. We understand the need for a tangled Tia and Colton storyline or for a narcissistic (somehow lovable) villain, and these things are ultimately harmless. My beef lies elsewhere.

Every Woman in a Relationship Should Do This 1 Thing Alone

Before I met my current boyfriend, I used to love going out to eat alone. I took pride in it. It was both empowering and relaxing, knowing that I didn't need a friend or a partner to sit at a table with. I could dine solo, order exactly what I wanted, and savor a good meal while sipping on Cabernet Sauvignon.

Though there are plenty of exceptions to the rule, many women in relationships relinquish their grasp on alone time when they get into serious relationships. Becoming girlfriends, wives, and mothers can take up so much of our attention that we forget to be the people we were before we had those roles. But being a good partner (and mom) means taking care of ourselves, and one of the best ways to do that is by connecting with ourselves as individuals. My favorite way to do that is to reserve a table for one.

A lot of women are used to having conversations over dinner, so they don't know what to do with themselves when they're out for dinner alone. Here's my advice:

Bring a Book: When you don't know what to do with yourself, having a book on hand is a great way to avoid feeling awkward. Bring that book you've always wanted to read but haven't had the time.

Related: The 25 Best New Books to Put in Your Beach Bag This Summer

Order Something Delicious: When you're conversing with someone over dinner, it's usually the conversation that takes center stage, rather than your senses. Eating alone is the perfect opportunity to eat mindfully. Eat slowly, close your eyes, and savor every bite. If you want to get really serious, bring a notepad and write down your thoughts on the meal.

Have a Drink: Another thing to add to your notepad? Wine tasting notes. Having one or two drinks is a great way to feel more comfortable dining out alone. And - bonus - it may spur your creativity as you read or write.

Chat With Your Waiter: Making small talk with someone you don't know is a lost art. Ask your waiter or waitress what dishes they recommend, address them by their name, and ask about their day (if they're not too busy).

Don't Sit at the Bar: Unless you're really in the mood to socialize, don't sit at the bar. A real table makes it clear that you're here to enjoy a meal on your own.

Going out to eat alone is increasingly celebrated, but many of us (especially women) often feel embarrassed doing it for the first time. I promise: Once you get used to it, you will feel like a badass. It can be hard to feel like a badass when you're covered in baby poop or picking your significant other's laundry up off the floor. It's the little things - like doing something alone, for yourself - that help you reconnect with yourself.

If You're Wondering Where All the Cool Kids Were This Weekend, They Were At the Polo

Felicity Jones Marries Charles Guard at an English Castle

Oscar-nominated actress Felicity Jones tied the knot with movie director Charles Guard on Saturday, in a romantic wedding in the English countryside. The couple have been quietly dating for the last three years, and Felicity first showed off her engagement ring a year ago, when she attended Glamour's Women of the Year Awards.

The wedding took place at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire, about an hour away from Felicity's childhood home of Bournville (the home of Cadbury's chocolate). Felicity wore a white dress with a high ruffled neckline and long sleeves in sheer fabric, with a matching veil. Like many modern brides, she apparently broke tradition to make a speech at the reception. It's reported that guests on the big day included Felicity's The Theory of Everything costar Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah, as well as Tom Hanks, who she starred alongside in Inferno.

The Parent Trap: Where the Cast Is Now

It's not often that movie remakes top the original, but The Parent Trap definitely comes close. In 1998, Walt Disney Pictures gave a modern spin to the 1961 film by casting Lindsay Lohan and left a permanent imprint on our childhoods. Seriously, who doesn't love those iconic Summer camp scenes? It's pretty hard to believe that the film is turning 20 years old in July, so in honor of the momentous occasion, see what the cast is up to now.

No Assistants Necessary - It Looks Like There's Hope For a Set It Up Sequel!

Fans have quickly fallen in love with Netflix's original movie Set It Up, and it's not hard to see why. Not only does the film have a star-studded cast (Lucy Liu, Taye Diggs, Zoey Deutch, Glen Powell), but the plot is restoring peoples' faith in romantic comedies. Which is why many people are already wondering - will there be a second movie? Well, it definitely seems like a possibility! The film's director, Claire Scanlon, recently revealed that writer Katie Silberman is already brainstorming ideas for a possible sequel.

"Katie's already come up with the idea," Scanlon told E! News. "She already has a plan. We were joking about it on set. We really like these characters!" So what ideas are being thrown around exactly? While Silberman suggested that Harper (Deutch) and Charlie (Powell) should try to set friends up at a wedding, Scanlon argued that the film should be all about Kirsten (Liu) and Rick (Diggs). "They're not getting together, but [the film would be about] their respective relationships," she clarified. (Which, obviously - there's no way Kirsten, who has a fierceness that's "both scary and inspiring," would ever put up with him a second time around.)

"To me what would be interesting to see is Kirsten, where does she go next?" Scanlon said. "The character Rick has clearly opened a door for her and made her realize, 'I'm worthy of a personal life and I deserve this.' I'd love to see where that goes. Honestly, it's the Kirsten character that I would want to explore. There's a world out there that you would want to explore. It'd be interesting to see where it goes."

We would totally watch that! While Netflix has yet to confirm the sequel, the fandom the film has gained in such a short amount of time is a good indicator that it could happen. Fingers crossed!

Liam Payne and Cheryl Break Up After More Than 2 Years Together

Liam Payne and Cheryl have broken up after more than two years together. The couple, who are parents to 1-year-old son Bear, announced their split on Twitter on Sunday. "Cheryl and I are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways," the 24-year-old singer wrote. "It's been a tough decision for us to make. We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together."

Cheryl, 35, shared a similar statement on her account writing, "We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It's been a tough decision for us to make. We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together."

The two first met on The X Factor in 2008, where Cheryl was a judge and Liam was a contestant, but they didn't start dating until February 2016. The two made their red carpet debut as a couple in May 2016, and welcomed their son Bear almost a year later in March 2017.

With Ant-Man and the Wasp now upon us, fans may be turning toward Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, and whatever Marvel has up its sleeve next. Based on a few recent quotes from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, we could potentially see an appearance from the Young Avengers down the line. If you're not familiar with them, the Young Avengers are just as they sound: mostly teenagers working to save the world.

Who Are the Young Avengers?

After the Avengers disband, a character known as Iron Lad accesses Vision's stored fail-safe protocols, which collected data about living relatives of the Avengers and company. Among the list are the kids who become known as the Young Avengers, including:

  • Nathaniel Richards, aka Iron Lad: Iron Lad technically comes from the future. He travels back in time upon learning that his future self, Kang the Conquerer, turns into a villain. To defeat himself, he activates the Avengers fail-safe protocol and locates the other heroes. Nathaniel's only powers come from his 40th century suit, modeled after Iron Man's. Eventually, he returns to the future.
  • Elijah "Eli" Bradley, aka Patriot: As the grandson of the original black Captain America, Isaiah Bradley, Eli takes supplements for superhero-like abilities until a blood transfusion gives him his own.
  • Theodore "Teddy" Altman, aka Hulkling: Teddy is technically alien royalty. As the son of Kree hero Captain Mar-Vell and a Skrull princess, he shapeshifts at will and wields mighty strength.
  • William "Billy" Kaplan, aka Wiccan: Billy possesses a great amount of power, just like Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, and is revealed to be the reincarnated version of her son William. His skills include reality warping, teleportation, electrokinesis, flying, and a whole lot more. He and Teddy have been dating for years.
  • Cassie Lang, aka Stature: Cassie is the daughter of Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man, and after his death, she seeks out the Young Avengers. Her powers manifest at just the right moment to prove she belongs to the team when she gets so angry at the impending rejection that she grows into a giant.
  • Kate Bishop, aka Hawkeye: Kate hails from a rich family and finds herself rescued by the fledgling group of Young Avengers at a wedding. She and Cassie insist on joining, though Kate lacks superpowers in the same way Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye) does. However, Kate also received combat training and is one of the best archers in the world.
  • Thomas "Tommy" Shepherd, aka Speed: Tommy is the reincarnated version of Scarlet Witch's son Thomas. He takes after his "uncle" of sorts, Pietro Maximoff, with supersonic speed - hence the inventive name.

Over time, the lineup for the Young Avengers shifts. Cassie dies and later returns as Stinger; Patriot eventually leaves the team to move to the Midwest; and Iron Lad obviously travels back to the future where he came from. In the latest iteration of the team, though, a few new heroes join up:

  • America Chavez, aka Miss America: America actually travels the multiverse by punching through different realities. Her abilities also include flight, super strength, and cosmic awareness, which guides her through the multiverse. She also makes it clear her previous relationship with a guy was an experimental phase for her.
  • David Alleyne, aka Prodigy: David is a depowered mutant who used to be able to absorb information from others' brains. That knowledge was restored and he's super intelligent, but he no longer absorbs new information that way. He identifies as bisexual and has a massive crush on Teddy.
  • Noh-Varr, aka Marvel Boy: When you cross a Kree with cockroach DNA, you get a pretty damn strong alien. His gauntlets also shift into whatever weapons he desires. Noh-Varr starts as an antagonist but swings around to save the universe instead, eventually joining the Young Avengers. He and Kate Bishop have a thing.
  • Young Loki: After Loki dies, he is reborn without his memories. Thor finds him and brings him home, but Loki remembers nothing of his former villainous nature. Eventually, a disembodied version of the old Loki takes over him, and Kid Loki of the Young Avengers is haunted by his guilt.

Will the Young Avengers Be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

So where are the Young Avengers in the MCU? As of now, only Cassie Lang has made an appearance, but Eli Bradley nearly showed up in Black Panther. Scarlet Witch and Vision are together to parent the twins, and Kate could easily tag along with Clint Barton in Avengers 4. Plus, with Captain Marvel taking us on an adventure with the Kree and Skrull empires next year, that film may introduce us to Teddy.

However, Marvel characters have jumped from the big screen to the small screen before. Peggy Carter, Phil Coulson, and Lady Sif, for example, have all crossed into TV shows and movies alike. Even if the Young Avengers team doesn't make it into Phase 4 of the Marvel films, Cassie and company could always join Cloak & Dagger or The Runaways instead.

Who Is The Wasp? Janet van Dyne's Origin Is Full of So Many Twists and Turns

The countdown until Ant-Man and The Wasp is officially on! The sequel to 2015's Ant-Man is premiering on July 6, and based on the new and returning cast, we already know it's going to be epic. The film, which takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War but before Avengers: Infinity War, will find Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) trying to balance his life while taking on a new mission with Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and his daughter, Hope (Evangeline Lilly). The trio set out to pull off a dangerous rescue of none other than Michelle Pfeiffer, aka Janet van Dyne, aka the original Wasp (and Hope's mom). Before we see all the drama go down, you should get to know the character and how she plays into the Avengers.

The Touching Cartier Connection Between Princess Diana, Prince William, and Kate Middleton

Along with a laid-back lifestyle and charitable spirit, one of the things Princess Diana passed down to her son Prince William was a love for fine jewelry - especially beautiful Cartier watches. After her divorce from Prince Charles, Diana was frequently photographed wearing a gold Cartier Tank Francaise, a gift from her father, John Spencer. She bought William a similar timepiece from the famed French label, which she had engraved for one of his birthdays. After her death in August 1997, William chose to keep Diana's Cartier Tank as a memento - and in 2014, he gifted Kate Middleton with the Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch for their third wedding anniversary.

Not only was the watch on its own a beautiful way to connect his beloved mother and new wife, but William also went a step further by embedding a sapphire stone into the stainless-steel style to match Kate's engagement ring - which also belonged to Diana. William presented Kate with the Ballon Bleu de Cartier just before they embarked on their tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2014, and she wore it nearly every day that they were there.

Jennifer Lopez's Twins Are All Grown Up, and Seriously When Did This Happen?

Jennifer Lopez may still be Jenny from the Block, but her twins Maximilian and Emme are definitely no longer babies. The precious pair has been gracing our Instagram feeds for over nine years, but we're still shocked by how quickly they've grown up - and, judging from all of the TBTs she has posted lately, so is Mama J Lo.

She consistently provides her followers with a mix of throwbacks and daily snapshots of the twins, and her recent pictures have got us feeling all sorts of nostalgic for when they were still sweet little tots. Check out all of the cute 'grams Jennifer has provided us with so far this year to see just how grown up the twins are looking.

Princess Diana's Most Captivating Moments With Kids

Princess Diana shared numerous sweet moments with her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, before her death in August 1997, but she had just as many heartwarming encounters with kids during her royal appearances across the globe. As part of her extensive charity work, the royal, who was a kindergarten teacher before marrying Prince Charles, had no qualms cuddling up to young children as she visited hospitals, schools, and orphanages. She would even get down on their level as they offered her gifts or flowers, much like her daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, does when she interacts with her smallest fans. Not only have William and Harry carried on Diana's legacy for helping others, but they also share her love for children.

Ant-Man and the Wasp's Soundtrack Has So Many Bangers, We Can't Deal

Even if you're not a Marvel superfan, Ant-Man and the Wasp has all the makings of a perfect movie: it has a runtime of two hours (which isn't nearly as long as Avengers: Infinity War), it stars Paul Rudd and Michelle Pfeiffer, and - best of all - the soundtrack is actually the sh*t.

From Kendrick Lamar to Imagine Dragons to Drake, the Ant-Man and the Wasp soundtrack has jams that will pump you up at the gym (as well as make your movie-going experience a little better if you're reluctantly dragged along). Take a listen, and if you try to tell us that you're still not excited for Ant-Man and the Wasp to come out on July 6, then you're probably lying.

Drake's New Song Seems to Confirm a Relationship With Bella Hadid - Let's Investigate

Drake's Scorpion album is finally out, and obviously fans are listening to it on repeat. (He blessed us with 25 songs and a two-sided album that lasts an hour and 29 minutes!). And as the listening commences, so does the lyric analysis. One track in particular - "Finesse," which is on side two - has people buzzing about the relationship between Drake and Bella Hadid. Although the pair has rarely been photographed together and neither person has outright confirmed a romantic relationship, there were dating rumors in October 2017.

Drake threw Bella a party for her 21st birthday on Oct. 9 - he "planned it and paid for everything," Us Weekly reported. Then, Bella's mom, Yolanda Hadid, appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen to talk about her memoir chronicling her experience with Lyme disease. Andy weaved in a Drake mention and said, "There are rumors that Bella is dating Drake. He threw her a big 21st birthday part last night. You were there!" Yolanda expertly dodged the topic and said, "They're friends."

In "Finesse," Drake alludes to a relationship with a woman who has a lot in common with Bella. Dive into the intriguing lyrics ahead that suggest a romance between the two, and then catch up on all the lyrics about Drake's son.

Kate Hudson's Maternity Dress Is the Most Beautiful, Universally Flattering Maxi on Earth

I stopped dead in my tracks scrolling through Instagram when I saw Kate Hudson's snap: an adorable photo of soon-to-be new parents Kate and Danny Fujikawa posing in Tuscany during a family trip. The duo looked all loved up, but I mostly liked how Kate framed this post: romantic . . . but make it fashion. She tagged the items she was wearing - embellished Gucci sunglasses and a Zimmermann maxi I knew I had to search for, and therefore immediately own.

The stunning dress, which features a shirred bodice and off-the-shoulder sleeves, retails for $615. I'm totally into the fact that you could get away with wearing this piece while pregnant (who says you need to buy maternity clothes?). But I also think the bare-shoulder silhouette makes this a proper look for date night in the Summer. If you, too, desire to be dressed head to toe in breezy florals ASAP, read on to shop Kate's exact Zimmermann number as well as similar designs we found.

If Any of These Signs Relate to You, You Need to Change Your Birth Control Method

One of the many burdens that come with being a woman is birth control. As great as it is for preventing unwanted pregnancies, it's up to us to pick up our monthly prescriptions, to wear a patch, to get a shot, or to get a vaginal ring or IUD inserted inside of us. Not to mention the pains that come with each birth control method. But what many of us aren't aware of is that side effects, like bad cramps and moodiness, aren't in fact part of the deal. What you're experiencing may be a sign that your birth control isn't the right match for your body.

"If you feel depressed, out of whack, tired, moody, or just not right, then your birth control isn't working," Dr. Prudence Hall, gynecologist and founder of the Hall Center, told POPSUGAR.

See if any of the following signs from One Medical provider Jessica Lue-Lai, MD, relate to you:

  1. You're bleeding or cramping heavily: Yes, excessive bleeding and cramping isn't something you have to live with! According to Dr. Lue-Lai, "you might need to have your birth control changed for lighter periods or more regular bleeding with less cramping" if you consistently experience these symptoms.
  2. Your mood is all over the place: Mood swings or feelings of anxiety or depression are worth speaking to your provider about.
  3. Your sex drive has changed: Birth control can sometimes cause your sex drive to plummet. Consider switching medications if this is a persistent issue for you.
  4. Your appetite has changed: "This is a very common side-effect; birth control is known to sometimes increase or decrease your appetite," Dr. Lue-Lai said.
  5. You're nauseous, dizzy, or even vomiting: These are considered extreme side effects and should definitely be addressed with your doctor.
  6. You're dealing with breast tenderness: Breast tenderness isn't completely uncommon with certain birth control, but severe pain can be a cause for concern.
  7. You're seeing acne where it wasn't before: Women who already prone to breakouts may experience severe acne with hormonal IUDs or contraception pills. If you're having excessive acne that's worsening, it might be time to change birth control.
  8. Your birth control may not be effective: To find out how effective your birth control is, Dr. Lue-Lai recommends checking out Bedsider.org, which is a great resource that allows you to weigh your options.

When starting a new birth control method, you should give yourself a two to three-month adjustment period before considering a switch. "Certain mild symptoms like acne, mood swings, or irregular spotting are not uncommon at the start," Dr. Lue-Lai said. "However, with birth control that contains only progesterone – Nexplanon, a Depo shot, or IUDs like Mirena, Skyla, or Liletta, for example – users may have irregular bleeding for several months before the symptoms improve."

Forgetting to take your birth control regularly can also affect your body's response. But if you're consistent and you're still experiencing ongoing symptoms or changes, you should definitely consult your provider.

An Expert Says Doing This 1 Thing Will Make You Stronger

We've all arrived at the gym, quickly throwing our belongings into a locker and jumping straight into our workout. This may seem harmless, but warming up is critical to maximizing your workout. If this alone hasn't convinced you, just look at what athletes at all levels do before a competition. If they're a hurdler, they practice going over the hurdles a few times, they make sure their fast twitch muscles are firing, and they get ready to run fast.

The primary goal of a warmup is to prepare someone mentally and physically for exercise/competition. Ian Jeffries, PhD, MSc, CSCS*D, NSCA-CPT*D, professor of strength and conditioning, wrote, "A well designed warm-up can increase muscle temperature, core temperature, blood flow, and also disrupt transient connective tissue bonds." He also found that warming up has the following effects on performance:

  • Improvements in rate of force development and reaction time.
  • Improvements in muscle strength and power.
  • Increased blood flow to active muscles.
  • Enhanced metabolic reactions.

Get the most out of your workout by completing a dynamic warmup - moving as you stretch and activate your muscles - before each workout.

4 Major Things That Happened When I Did a Jillian Michaels Ab Workout Every Day For 1 Week

Jillian Michaels is one of those timeless celebrity trainers who is always a reliable source for health and fitness tips. Her new app, My Fitness by Jillian Michaels, promises to help you feel your best, eat healthy, and slim down. Having always been a Jillian superfan, I just had to give it a shot.

I've always envied Jillian for her chiseled abs. As someone who has never had a visibly chiseled core, I was curious to see what would happen if I did a Jillian Michaels ab workout every single day for a week. Would I see much of a difference? I went all in to find out. I did an ab workout from Jillian's app each day, and this is what happened.

My Abs Were Really Sore the First Couple of Days

I couldn't believe how sore I was when I woke up on the morning after my first ab session. It was only a 7-minute core workout, but it totally kicked my ass. Jillian had me moving from squirm crunches (which really target the obliques) to double leg lifts to mountain climbers, and I hardly had any time to complain about how hard it was. I generally don't do any isolated core exercises (I get my ab work from doing compound exercises and Animal Flow), so I wasn't surprised to find out how sore I was during the first half of the week. Plus, there's no denying that Jillian's workouts are effective as can be.

I Only Saw a Slight Change in the Mirror

I'll preface this by saying, I know you can't expect to see major changes in the body from doing anything for only a week. When I looked in the mirror, I could see a little more ab definition, which you might be able to see in the above picture, but that was about it. From the side, I could tell that my abs were a bit flatter than before I started Jillian's program, but I couldn't be sure it was enough of a difference for others to notice. It made me curious of what would happen if I continued doing these ab workouts for two, or even three weeks. I have a feeling my abs would show a pretty tremendous difference if I stuck with it.

I Felt Stronger Lifting Weights

Jillian has all sorts of different ab workouts on her app, including 25-minute HIIT cardio sessions that target your core big time. The more time I invested into my abs throughout the week, the more of a positive change I felt in my strength-training workouts. My core felt stronger in deadlifts, squats, and even shoulder presses. It made me feel empowered to go a tad heavier with one of my weightlifting sessions. This inspired me to continue regularly with ab sessions even after the week was over, because it was paying off in the gym.

I Even Felt More Confident Outside of the Gym

Call it the placebo effect, but I suddenly felt like my abs were ready to peek out in a crop top. I've never been one to wear anything that shows my midriff, and it's not because I don't like the look of it. It all comes to feeling insecure about my midsection. But after a week of planks, reverse crunches, and burpees, I felt ready to show off my hard work. I rocked a brand new crop top to an event that weekend - and felt pretty damn good in it.

How Much Fruit Should You Actually Eat in a Day? Here's What a Dietitian Says

You've probably read that you should eat plenty of fruits and vegetables during the day to support a healthy diet. But what exactly does "plenty" mean? And won't eating too much fruit make you gain weight? We spoke to Jim White, RD, ACSM, owner of Jim White Fitness and Nutrition Studio, who broke it down for us.

The USDA recommends adults eat a minimum of two servings of fruit a day, while the American Heart Association recommends at least four servings of fruit per day.

"Fruit provides a wonderful array of vitamins, micronutrients, and antioxidants, from vitamin A, C, and beta carotene," Jim told POPSUGAR. And while fruit can be high in fiber, a nutrient most Americans need more of, it is possible to overdo it on the fruit and eat too much fiber, especially if you're also eating a lot of vegetables.

He recommends balancing the amount of fruit and vegetables you have a day based on fiber recommendations: 28 grams a day for women under 50, and 21 grams for women over 50, and 38 grams per day for men under 50, 30 grams for men over 50. Keeping that in mind, you should still shoot for at least two servings a day of fruit.

"Of course, fruits still have calories and sugar so eating as much as you want wouldn't be advised," Jim said. "I would limit to four to five servings a day and get the rest of your nutrients from other foods."

Burn Fat and Tone Your Body (Mostly Your Butt) With This CrossFit Workout

When I walked into my CrossFit box and saw this workout posted, I thought to myself, "This doesn't look so bad. Just running and some dumbbell moves." Famous last words. I should have remembered that the workouts that look the easiest on paper are usually the ones that destroy me. And I was right. I was floored by how only four exercises could work me so hard, leave me huffing and puffing, and my muscles burning. My ass was completely kicked in just 20 minutes!

My coach Jade Jenny, owner of Champlain Valley CrossFit gave us a little advice before tackling this workout. He said to either focus on using medium-weight dumbbells so you can really push your pace and do your reps unbroken, or use heavier dumbbells if you want to increase your strength. I used 15-pound dumbbells, and fell to the ground by the end that felt plenty hard enough for me.

The Workout

Directions: After warming up with five minutes of dynamic moves, complete the workout ahead, then take a one-minute rest. Repeat this five times.

21 dumbbell push press
100-meter run
15 dumbbell squats
100-meter run
9 dumbbell thrusters
100-meter run

For reference, it took me about 30 seconds to run the 100 meters, running at a moderate pace. You could certainly sprint to make this workout even harder.

Keep reading to learn details on how to do each of the dumbbell moves.
