Get a Gleaming Bathroom Fast With This 1 Nontoxic "Magic" Soap

Let's face it - bathrooms are gross. Even the tidiest among us still have to deal with hair-clogged drains, grimy sinks, and shower tiles coated in thick layers of shampoo, conditioner, and who knows what. But when cleaning day comes around, forget toiling away with rolls of paper towels, scrub brushes, and several different harsh chemical cleansers. All you need is this one bottle of magic soap, and you're just minutes away from a sparkling-clean bathroom. Pull your hair back, pump the jams, and let's get to work! You'll be good to go after just one song.

After discovering Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Liquid Soap while on my quest for nontoxic beauty products, I was hooked. These 18-in-1 soaps are really just that with near limitless cleaning possibilities around the house. I wash my feet with peppermint soap for a cool tingle, hose the dog off postbeach with lavender soap, and tuck a small bottle of sweet almond for shampoo and body wash in my gym bag. But on one particularly rushed morning, I accidentally spilled more than my intended amount of soap into my bathtub. While mopping it up I made another brilliant discovery: I have seen no other product, chemical or nontoxic, clean up the slimy shower grime the way Dr. Bronner's did.

Getting down with the dirty is easier than A-B-C, baby. Here's how it's done!

Gather Your Arsenal

All you need is a bottle of Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Liquid Soap ($16), a sponge, and an empty spray bottle. Any scent of soap will do. Most are blended with essential oils for an aromatherapy-like cleaning experience, so pick your favorite. I love using lavender for calmer vibes or citrus for a pop of energy. Gentle unscented is also available (and even gentle enough for babies' delicate skin).

Dilute Your Soap

To power-clean your bathroom, Dr. Bronner's blog recommends diluting your soap with water at a 1:4 ratio in a squirt bottle. Shake it all up and stash it under the sink, making future cleanups a breeze.

Spray, Wipe, Shine!

Spritz a few bursts of your soapy-water mix onto all of your bathroom services. Then grab your sponge (or Magic Eraser) and wipe up the grime. Rinse and dampen your sponge in between surfaces to make sure all of the product and scum is gone. You can use this same spray on your countertops, in the bathtub and shower, and on and around the toilet. You can even mop with it - simply dilute one-half cup of soap into three gallons of hot water and swirl the mess away.

Time-saving hack: I love cleaning my shower while I'm actually in it. That way, I don't mind getting wet, and the shower spray rinses all of the residue away without wasting more water with a separate wash! Plus, I can use the Dr. Bronner's soap safely on the shower surfaces and my body alike.

Target Is Holding Its Own Mega Sale on Amazon Prime Day; My Bank Account Is Shaking

All right, it's time to break out your wallets. Looks like July 17 is gearing up to be the deal day of the year. While Amazon Prime members have been eagerly anticipating Prime Day for months, Target just introduced itself to the game in a bold way by holding a mega sale on the same day - "no membership required."

Target's deals are no joke either. The superstore is offering 25 percent off beauty brands, so stock up on all your drugstore favorites. Grab a Google product such as Chromecast or a Google Home for up to 30 percent off (no shade to Alexa). You can even start a home redesign at a discount by snagging some Target-exclusive decor at 30 percent off.

This sale isn't just for adults; your little ones can benefit from the savings as well. The mega sale will have deals on toy brands, 30 percent off select baby gear, plus $5 savings on books, when you spend $20. There really is something for the whole family. Plus, if you end up spending more than $100 on Target's website, you qualify for free six-month same-day delivery through Shipt.

So, if you're interested in the savings on either site, set an alarm in your phone: Target's Mega Sale starts the morning of July 17 and ends at midnight, while Amazon Prime Day starts at 3 p.m. ET on July 16 and ends at midnight on July 17. Shop one, the other, or . . . shop both! May the savings be ever in your favor.

We Need to Talk About Disneyland's Magical Doughnut Selection, Y'all

If your doughnut doesn't inspire exclamations of envy from random passersby, is it really worth it? (Probably, because doughnuts are the freakin' best, but that doesn't serve to illustrate our point.) Thankfully, the fried, doughy rings of goodness at Disneyland are the best of the best. It wasn't until quite recently that Disney started offering doughnuts for hungry guests, but the addition to the resort's snack selection was an instant hit. As it turns out, nobody does doughnuts quite like the happiest place on earth!

You can find Disney doughnuts at several locations throughout the California resort: the Coffee Cart near Fantasy Faire on Disneyland's Main Street, Schmoozies in Disney's California Adventure, and the Disneyland Hotel Coffee Shop. Most items in Disney's impressive doughnut selection run about $6 per pop, but based on photos from contented park guests, they definitely seem worth the cost!

6 Closet Organization Tips I Learned Straight From an Ikea Pro

Marie Kondo once said, "Storage should reduce the effort needed to put things away, not the effort needed to get them out." From personal experience, I can attest she's right. For years I lived with my bedroom in a state of perpetual clutter for the sole reason that there was no easy place for me to put my stuff away. Piles of pants grew into mountains, purses overflowed out of one tiny closet until the door wouldn't close, and shirts took up long-term residency atop one of three dilapidated dressers because the broken drawers required exhaustive wrestling to open. Soon the room was more laundry pile than personal space. I was overwhelmed, and my response was to keep the door shut.

Despite the poor condition my clothing and accessories were living in, I valued them and had spent time building a fashion collection I cared about. I wanted a storage solution to match; something that not only accommodated all my items, but celebrated them. I wanted a celeb-worthy dream closet - but getting Champagne on my beer budget wasn't going to be easy. Just when I had given up and resigned to living in a name-brand garbage dump, Ikea reached out to me.

The retailer's incredibly talented home tour makeover squad knew just how to give me the luxurious high-fashion wardrobe storage solution I craved at a reasonable price. Designer Stephanie Recupero led the project. After seeing the space and learning of my needs, she declared that a customized Pax wardrobe was just the solution I was looking for. Check out the slideshow ahead to learn Stephanie's six pro design decisions that made my closet so fantastic, and then read how my new wardrobe impacted so much more than my clothes.

Products and installation for the author were provided by Ikea for the purpose of writing this story.

These Photos From the Loveland Theme Park in South Korea Will Make You Blush

Jeju Loveland: A place in Korea where sex-themed art and eroticism meet. The Loveland Theme Park opened up in 2004 and boasts 140 works of art that may make you blush - but are undeniably interesting to look at. The park also runs sex-education films and has some interactive pieces as well. And of course, there are ample photo opportunities featuring various phallic sculptures and depictions of people in moments of extreme pleasure.

All penis jokes aside, Loveland is pretty remarkable in that, being the only sex-themed park in Korea, it aims to break down traditional taboos about sex. While sometimes graphic, the overall experience is one of a kind. Visitors must be 18 to enter, and admission is just a little under $10 USD. Take a look at the kinky photos of the park ahead.

Iskra Lawrence's Bikini Was Made For a Sexy '70s Vixen - Can You Handle That?

We were immediately obsessed with Iskra Lawrence's halter-style ring bikini when she wore it in red in March 2018. The design is from Aerie, though it's not yet available on the site. Anyhow, it's got major '70s influence thanks to a row of rings that bare cleavage down the front of the suit. Iskra sported the black version in Miami on the beach, pairing the top with standard, cheeky-fit bottoms and oversize frames to play up the retro vibes even more. While you can't add Iskra's exact design to your drawer just yet, we found some similar sexy silhouettes that will take you back in time. Walk this way, baby.

It's no surprise that the model's bikini is from Gabi Fresh x Swimsuits For All, as both she and Gabi have collections with the brand. Kate Middleton Found the World's Most Flattering Dress to Wear at Wimbledon

Kate Middleton is no stranger to Wimbledon. As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, she often attends alongside Prince William or members of her tennis-mad family. But when she made an appearance at the men's semi-final and women's final on Saturday, she had a new companion: her sister-in-law, Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex put on a seriously stylish show as they settled down to watch the action. Kate stuck to her Wimbledon go-to, a pretty Summer dress, this time opting for a slim-fitting cream design with black spots by one of her go-to designers, Jenny Packham. The dress had gathered fan-style ruffles at the shoulder and hip, giving it a 1940s feel. She accessorized with a Dolce & Gabbana bag. Meghan, meanwhile, opted for a more modern, preppy look in her striped button-down and cream pants by Ralph Lauren.

It's been a busy royal week for everyone, including Kate. She started on a high at Prince Louis's christening, where she stuck to tradition by wearing a white Alexander McQueen ensemble. The following day she joined members of the royal family at the centenary celebrations of the RAF, where she turned to McQueen once again, this time for a powder blue look. Saturday's tennis required less of the formality of those royal engagements, and we loved seeing Kate more casual. She often chooses Wimbledon as a chance to show her softer side, and this was once again the case. Keep reading to see for yourself.

After attending a Wimbledon match alongside her sister-in-law Meghan Markle in a polka dot print dress by Jenny Packham, Kate Middleton is back for a second round. The Duchess of Cambridge attended the event alongside her husband Prince William wearing yet another stunning outfit.

It seems like Kate took a styling cue from Meghan, as she was seen wearing a vibrant Dolce and Gabbana dress that looked awfully similar to Meghan's yellow Brandon Maxwell number. Kate was easy to spot in the figure-flattering dress, which she styled with a pair of sunglasses. Read on to see all angles of her cheery outfit ahead.

I'm a Professional Shopper, and These Are the 11 Things I Can't Resist Buying For Summer

When people ask me what I do and I tell them I shop on the internet for a living, they think I'm joking. Luckily, I scored my total dream job, but it's both a blessing and a curse. While I'm always informed of what's on trend or on sale, this gives me the constant temptation to spend all my money at once. This Summer, I narrowed it down to 11 seriously chic wardrobe staples I can see myself wearing again and again. If you're in need of some shopping motivation for yourself, take a peek at my wish list for some inspiration. I Bought These $18 Flip-Flops on Amazon, and I'm Never Wearing Anything Else Again

Flip-flops and I were never friends. For my entire adult life, every pair I bought - no matter how comfortable someone else claimed they were - hurt my feet, gave me blisters, or made me far too conscious of the thong between my toes. Then I discovered Locals, a brand of Hawaiian "slippers." Four pairs later, I'm never buying any other brand.

I know people go apesh*t for Brazilian Havaianas, but Locals are a similarly classic style, cheaper, and - according to my hard-to-please feet - more comfortable. They also last forever. My first pair, Locals White Slippers with pink and teal accents ($18), lasted four years before I decided they were done. (Two pairs were destroyed my dog, so I cannot say how long their natural lives would have been.) I have worn my Locals on an hour-long hike in Hawaii (albeit an easy hike) and all day during a recent trip to Hangout Music Fest. And you guys! That wasn't even the arch support version, which I discovered existed while writing this post.

Locals sells flip-flops for men, women, and children. You can get basic color schemes like the Locals Navy Slipper (pictured above) or girlier pairs like the Locals Candy Slipper ($18). Scroll through to see some of the styles available on Amazon.

If "Minidress" Isn't Amal Clooney's Middle Name, Someone Should Fix That on Her Birth Certificate

Amal Clooney can rock the hell out of a pantsuit, and her blazer and skirt coordinates are always sophisticated, but Amal's dress collection is glamorous like you wouldn't believe. Or maybe your eyes have been glued to her wardrobe since day one, in which case, we don't blame you.

When she steps out for daytime events, Amal usually opts for tailored Gucci pieces or ones she's thrifted that fall to the knee. But come nighttime soirées, you'll find the fashion-conscious human rights lawyer and activist in swingy little numbers that show off a lot of leg.

We combed through her best outfits and selected the easiest ones to re-create so that you can update the dress section in your closet like Amal Clooney would. Things are about to get fancy up in here.

I Bought This $15 Bra on Amazon, and I'm Never Wearing Anything Else Again

I have a bust on the smaller side, and I don't need much support. I often find underwire bras are too uncomfortable and thin camis just aren't enough. I saw this Hanes Convertible Wire Free Bra ($15) bubbling up on Amazon recently and became curious. It had over 1,400 reviews and a 4.5-star rating, so I gave it a try.

This bra looks small and thin but it offers me so much support. The smooth straps are adjustable and don't cut into my skin, and the material is so silky-soft, I feel like I'm wearing nothing. Now I'm officially throwing out all my other ones and buying this in every color. The beige one is perfect to pair with all my light-colored tops, but it comes in four other cute colors, including pink. At this price, you can buy them all!

Here's What Really Goes Down at a Clothing-Optional "Erotic" Couples Resort

My boyfriend and I excitedly opened the door to our gorgeous beachfront suite, unsure of what to expect when we entered. While away at dinner, our special selection from a "fantasy menu" at Desire Riviera Maya Pearl, a clothing-optional, couples-only resort in Mexico, was being set up for us.

We crossed the threshold in anticipation, thinking we were ready for what was next. I must stress, emphatically, that we were not f*cking ready for what was next.

Let's rewind.

We arrived a few days earlier to Desire Riviera Maya Resort, the sister to the resort where we finished off our trip. Both are "adult" escapes for couples, where clothing is optional and where anything goes. We certainly learned what "anything goes" can mean. The resorts describe themselves as places full of freedom, oases of "beauty and eroticism" (wholeheartedly agree) where "fantasies become reality" (reality, indeed).

I found myself in a pool-size sex spa full of guests - all completely nude - sandwiched in between one of the most attractive women I'd ever seen in real life and her boyfriend.

When I first read about both resorts, my curiosity was understandably piqued. Clothing optional? Great, no more tan lines. Couples only? My boyfriend was very down. Sexy shows every night, great food, and sensual experiences geared toward turning up the heat in your relationship? Sign us up.

Desire Riviera Maya and Pearl are all about creating an environment of openness, where people can explore their sexual desires in a safe, accepting place among like-minded people. Couples (mostly, but not all) in their 30s to 60s are able to escape the limitations of everyday society and embrace the lifestyle they seek, all against the backdrop of the beautiful Yucatán coastline.

I consider myself to be very open-minded, sexually adventurous, totally fine with nudity (love it, actually), and fully supportive of pretty much anything going on between consenting adults. I'm a Love and Sex editor, for f*ck's sake. Even if it happens to be on public display, as is the case at the resorts, I'm down. It can even be a turn on for many people.

On day two, however, as I found myself in a pool-size sex spa full of guests - all completely nude - sandwiched in between one of the most attractive women I'd ever seen in real life (not complaining one bit here) and her down-for-pretty-much-anything boyfriend, it occurred to me that my significant other and I were in way, way over our heads. We rolled with it, to an extent. But it wasn't exactly the experience we expected. For the first time in my adult life, I felt incredibly naive and unprepared - and it was pretty hilarious. For the most part.

Most guests coming to resorts like these are generally knowledgeable about what occurs there. In fact, one of the questions we were most frequently asked in the five days we spent at both places was "are you two lifestylers?" This is the question couples often pose in order to get a feel for whether another couple is open to swinging. We were told that around 60 percent of the people who come to the resorts are swingers - people who swap partners and/or engage in group sex - but I'm convinced based on our personal experience that the number is just a bit higher.

The resorts are beautiful and all-inclusive (drinks, too!), with spacious suites, multiple pools and hot tubs, countless restaurants and bars open all hours of the day and night, and extra amenities like spas, salons, and stores filled with all of the sexy outfits and accessories you could ask for. Forgot your lube? No problem. Everything is where you need it, when you need it. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and completely nonjudgmental, and overall were a highlight of the trip for us.

But - and there is a but - first-timers should be aware of what they're diving into. The golden rule that all guests must agree to upon arrival is that "no means no" - which should give you an idea of what kind of things go down daily. This isn't a nudist resort where people mostly keep to themselves. This is a full-on sex resort, with public rooms decorated with round pink and black leather beds dedicated to group sex, massive hot tubs where couples and groups can go at it to their hearts' desires, and where (in my case) attempting to casually rock a bathing suit bottom made me stand out among the sea of bare butts. This is absolutely what many people are looking for in a getaway - and I'm so glad that there's places that exist where couples can really be themselves and where this is celebrated.

Fast-forward back to the night we returned from dinner thinking we were getting a casual private dance in our suite . . .

The first thing I saw was the sex swing that had been drilled into our ceiling while we were gone for barely an hour. Impressive. Our bathtub was filled with bubbles and roses, our bed completely covered with the petals as well. A bottle of Champagne chilled nearby. We suddenly started having second thoughts about inviting our new couple friends along for what we (stupidly, in hindsight) believed to be the kind of silly striptease you see at bachelor parties that last all of 10 minutes. It was not.

We thought we'd chat and laugh with the husband and wife we'd brought along with us while we watched a sexy performance, sip Champagne, and be dancing at the resort's (actually very fun) disco in no time. Nope. It was the erotic preamble to what would've been sex with my boyfriend - guided by a beautiful (and amazingly sweet) woman decked out in black lace and silk. But (due to my own obliviousness) it turned into the preamble for what was essentially a foursome - since I'd invited our newfound friends along for the (literal) ride. I guess the rose petals on the bed should have been my red flag?

Did we know what we were getting ourselves into? Absolutely not. Did we have exciting sex in places and ways we never have before? Yup.

Needless to say, we skipped the group sex (wasn't really our ideal scenario, but totally great for other couples interested in something like this!), dipped out, and headed to the disco where we made it just in time to see a badass dancer perform one of the coolest aerial shows I've ever seen. Our friends, who laughed good-naturedly and incredulously asked how we didn't know what the deal was all along, joined us on the dance floor. Crisis averted. Our ignorance about what an "erotic couples massage" really means is a whole other story . . .

Did the resorts play a part in helping my boyfriend and me spice up the romance after more than five years of dating? Absolutely. We got closer not only because of our admittedly awkward roller-coaster ride, but also because the resorts really do foster a sense of eroticism and sexual openness that was entirely contagious. Did we know what we were getting ourselves into? Absolutely not. Did we have exciting sex in places and ways we never have before? Yup.

Bottom line, going to an erotic couples resort got my partner and me out of our comfort zones, but more importantly, the resorts allow others who visit to truly be in their comfort zones, whatever those may be.

Oral Sex During Your Period: Yes or No?

When it comes to your monthly flow, you might feel a bit frisky and want to hop into bed. Plus, you totally should, as there are actually a few benefits to having sex on your period, and you might naturally be hornier, too. There are plenty of amazing sex positions to try when you're on your period, but oral sex should be something different to consider. First off, is it safe? And secondly, since it's less appealing to certain people, should you even be doing it? Here's what you should know.

Is It Safe?

For the most part, yes, as long as neither person has any STDs, Dr. Alex Ferro, MD and ob-gyn, told POPSUGAR. "Certain STDs are more likely to be transmitted while bleeding," he says. These include blood-borne STDs like HPV, HIV, and syphillis, he says.

Is It Clean?

"This is subjective. If the person is disease free, then yes, it's hygienic. However, if you think of 'hygiene' in terms of cleanliness, well, there could be certain odors associated with the menses that may be unpleasant and not considered hygienic," he says. Plus, the taste will be period-like, so a more "metallic" flavor. This stronger taste and odor could be less favorable for the "giver" in this scenario. Plus, if it makes the woman who is bleeding self-conscious, it'll wreck the mood.

Should You Do It?

At the end of the day, it is a personal choice, for both partners. "Many women are actually more sexually aroused while on their periods and would welcome oral sex. Others are more concerned with the 'ick' factor or with what their partner might think rather than with actually enjoying the act," he says.

"I'd advise that every couple has to individualize based on how they both feel. I'd also emphasize that you should refrain from this type of sexual practice if you are not in a stable, monogamous relationship or feel confident that you are both disease free," he says. Yet, if you're both down to do it, consider using a tampon or menstrual cup to keep things less messy, he suggests.

I Was Blind in 1 Eye at My Wedding . . . and Hardly Anyone Knew

Amazing. Radiant. Gorgeous. These are all ways a bride wishes to look and feel on her wedding day. Unfortunately in my case, I feared I'd look and feel the complete opposite, and it was because of my right eye.

About a year before my wedding, my right eye contracted an extremely rare and horrific eye infection called Acanthamoeba keratitis. Basically, a parasite was attacking my eyeball and destroying my cornea. The treatment to stop the infection consisted of putting toxic eyedrops into my eye around the clock for three months straight. My doctor said it was comparable to putting Clorox into my eye.

Although the eyedrops were eventually able to get rid of the infection, the aftermath left me blind in my right eye. As for the appearance of my eye, what used to be a pretty blue I received compliments on my entire life now had the appearance of a clouded blue haze, comparable to a "wizard's eye." You couldn't even see my pupil. I was embarrassed and ashamed of my appearance, so I kept my head down as often as I could when in public. It really took a toll on my self-esteem and self-confidence.

My doctor said it was too soon for me to have a cornea transplant, and I didn't want to postpone my wedding any further. (My husband and I had already been engaged for three years.) As much as I love pirates, having a pirate-themed wedding so I could get away with wearing an eyepatch was definitely out of the question. My only real option to hide my eye's appearance was to cover it with a customized cosmetic contact lens. I must have tried on 10 different colored shades of blue glass contact lenses, but the doctor was finally able to match my eye color. When my husband and I initially made our wedding budget, we most definitely didn't factor in a $300 contact lens. Like most brides, looking and feeling great on my wedding day was very important to me, and I was willing to do whatever it took, even if that meant wearing an expensive and uncomfortable piece of glass in my eye for an entire day.

It was money well spent. I don't mean to sound conceited, but I truly felt amazing, radiant, and gorgeous on my wedding day - all the ways a bride should feel. The contact lens gave me enough confidence to happily look at my guests in the eye when we spoke, comfortably pose for thousands of pictures, and be front and center on the dance floor. The vast majority of our guests had no idea that I was half blind or about the eye infection I had, and that is exactly what I hoped for. That day was about moving forward and starting a new life with my husband. I didn't want my eye to take away from all the love and happiness of that wonderful day.

Although I literally spent my wedding day half in the dark, the day brought so much light and joy to my life. My husband said I would have still been the most beautiful bride he had ever seen even if I wasn't wearing that contact lens, and I love him for that. And perhaps it was a bit superficial of me, but it was something I had to do for myself. Of course, I wanted to look my best on our special day, but it was truly more about the way I felt rather than the way I looked.

My husband and I will be celebrating our 10-year anniversary this year. Over the years, our looks have changed - some extra weight here, a gray hair there (I did finally get a cornea transplant, by the way), but the way we feel about one another has remained the same, and that's what it's all about, isn't it? Finding the beauty within yourself and in others and falling in love with that spirit over and over again.

Yup.

Why Adding Retinol to Your Beauty Routine Will Change Your Skin

You might not believe that a magical skincare product exists (and, in a lot of ways, you would be right). Still, retinol comes pretty damn close. The powerhouse ingredient is the purest form of vitamin A and can help with acne, hyperpigmentation, or visible signs of aging. So if you have to add any product to your routine, retinol definitely holds the most transformative potential. In fact, dermatologist Dr. Michelle Henry, MD, highly recommends it to nearly all of her patients. We asked her to help us break down exactly why that is.

Hello Kitty Is Here to Make Blending Your Makeup Way Cuter

Hello Kitty fans, it's time you add your favorite character to your makeup bag. There's always been a wide variety of Hello Kitty products available on the market - like toasters, phones, and Japanese bullet trains to name a few - but there haven't been many beauty products to add to your stash. Luckily, silicone beauty applicator brand MakeupDrop teamed up with Japanese company Sanrio for a collaboration that will add a dose of cuteness to your beauty routine.

The MakeupDrop x Hello Kitty Silicone Beauty Applicator ($20) is a tear-shaped tool with the adorable feline printed on it, and can be used to apply liquid makeup to your face. Not a big fan of foundation? You can also use it for your skin: just keep the applicator in the freezer and pop in under your eye area whenever you need to depuff.

While the silicone blenders are reusable (you can wash them with soap), nothing lasts forever. We recommend stocking up on these while the collaboration lasts.

This Mom Won't Force Her Kids to Hug Their Relatives Even If You Think It's "Rude"

Even though it can be tremendously awkward in the moment, Laura Mazza, a mom and writer at Laura Mazza - Mum on the Run, doesn't feel obligated to make her kids hug anyone, whether they're related to them or not. In a Facebook post, she explained that although it might seem rude at the time, teaching your kiddos the importance of boundaries and forcing them to hug an aunt or uncle is more than a little bit contradictory.

"Recently relatives came to visit and asked for a goodbye hug, and my son promptly said no," wrote Laura. "This person said 'Ohhh, come on!! Just one big hug,' and I was looked at by the relative like I should encourage him by saying, 'Go on, give her a hug!' But instead, I said, 'That's Ok, you don't have to' . . . And what may have been considered as slightly awkward or rude on my part, it's something I'm proud as a parent to say or do."

Despite the disapproving looks shot in her direction, Laura didn't change her decision. After all, it's her job to keep her children's best interests in mind.

"Because I'm teaching my kids that no means no and that's it's OK to say no."

"My responsibility first and foremost is to my children. As their mother, it's my job to stand up for them when they can't and teach them to learn to stand up for themselves," said Laura. "I am their safe place, one that they trust, and I won't abuse that by insisting that they do something that makes them feel uncomfortable to be polite."

And this sentiment doesn't just apply to her son's interactions with his relatives. Laura believes that the "no means no" mentality should be honored across the board.

My son gets too much sometimes and wants to hug other kids, or his sister, a little too much. I can't tell him "You can't hug her/him if they don't want to be hugged, but if Uncle Albert demands a hug, you should give him one." Because I'm teaching my kids that no means no and that's it's OK to say no. It means no when I say "you can't have an extra cookie". It means no when your sister doesn't want to wrestle. It means "no" when your girlfriend/boyfriend says "no" to sex or if you or they say, "I'm not ready." It means no when you say you don't want to do something with your body that you don't want to do. So it definitely means no when someone asks you for a hug and you don't want to give them one.

Laura believes there are many ways to still be "nice and a good person" without giving into someone else's demands for a hug or kiss.

"Unfortunately, I know all too well what it's like as a child to be obliged to do something and be polite as you were taught, and we only have to spend 10 minutes on social media to see the statistics of children being forced into situations isn't a low one."

For the time being, Laura's planning on taking the awkward conversations in stride for the sake of her kids.

"But for now, I'm their voice and I'm their advocate and I'll make it count, and hopefully that'll give them the strength in all situations to remember my words and to know that they don't have to do anything they don't want to with their body and that no means no and walk away."

15 Beach Reads That Distracted Moms Might Actually Be Able to Finish

Reading a book on the beach is one of those activities that is sometimes better in theory than in actuality - especially if you're a mom. It's near impossible to concentrate on a nonfiction tome of Ulysses S. Grant when you're also trying to keep a gaggle of kiddies fed, entertained, slathered in sunscreen, and above water.

Even if the beach isn't the best place to make your way through the collected works of Fyodor Dostoyevsky, there are still plenty of fabulous books you can enjoy without losing track your kids (or your mind). From historical romances, to scandalous mysteries to hysterical essay collections, here are 15 of our favorite beach reads that moms will love (and that your kids might actually let you finish).
