Production For Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Has Officially Been Put on Hold

The third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy series has been put on hold indefinitely.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney and Marvel have put production on hold to regroup on the project after the firing of James Gunn. Gunn - who directed the first two Guardian films - was abruptly let go in July after a series of inappropriate jokes from a decade ago resurfaced on Twitter. Fans were incredibly vocal with their protests and hoped the studios would reconsider, even going as far as to create a petition in his defense. The firing didn't sit well with the cast, either, who offered their support for Gunn and signed a joint statement asking Disney to rehire him. Ultimately, Disney stood firm in its decision to let the director go, though his original script is still expected to be used for the next film.

As far as production goes, the timeline for the third movie has been "pushed out." Crew members who had been hired to begin prepping for preproduction this Fall have been dismissed and are free to take other work. Sources told THR that principal photography for the film was supposed to begin in the Winter, but Disney and Marvel are now taking the time to search for a replacement for Gunn. Considering how closely the threequel will be scrutinized when it's released, it's probably a good idea that the studios take their time with their selection.

The Spice Girls Hanging Out With the Royals Is the Most British Thing You'll Ever See

What do you get when you put the Spice Girls and the royal family together? Why, the most British thing you could ever see, of course. Since releasing their very first single over 22 years ago, the former girl band has met with the royals on many occasions, and judging by the following photos, it seems as though the famous family might love them as much as we do.

From meeting a very excited Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice to breaking royal protocol and planting a kiss on Prince Charles's cheek, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, and Emma Bunton have had some pretty epic moments with the British royal family. Read on to see 10 photos of the two worlds colliding.

Rami Malek and Charlie Hunnam are Here to (Almost) Answer Your Most-Googled Questions

Rami Malek and Charlie Hunnam don't seem to be super interested in answering questions about themselves. At least that's the way it appears in their latest interview with Wired. While on a press tour to promote their new film, Papillon, the actors sat down for an autocomplete interview to address the most-googled questions about themselves. Between the two of them, though, they probably answered a total of three questions - one of which is a thorough rundown of Rami's lunch order. At the end of the interview, you may find yourself knowing just as little about Charlie and Rami as you did before (in which case, we have you covered on that), but look on the bright side: at least you were given the pleasure of sitting through almost six minutes of these two looking like two-and-a-half snacks.

The Inclusion of Coldplay's "Yellow" in Crazy Rich Asians Is More Significant Than You Realize

If you've seen Crazy Rich Asians, then chances are you've fallen just as hard in love with the film's soundtrack as Nick falls for Rachel. From a truly stunning cover of "Can't Help Falling in Love" to an upbeat love song from Miguel, the music featured deserves to be at the top of all your playlists. That's why you might be surprised to discover that the song in the rom-com's final, beautiful moments almost didn't make the cut.

At the end of the film, emotions are running high as Rachel (Constance Wu) considers her departure from Singapore, as her estranged boyfriend, Nick (Henry Golding), struggles with his relationship with his demanding mother, Eleanor (Michelle Yeoh). There's also the matter of Astrid (Gemma Chan) and her own romantic woes (which luckily get a lift in the adorable midcredits scene). Director John M. Chu had the perfect song in mind to capture all of these themes from the very beginning: Coldplay's "Yellow." The only problem? Neither Warner Bros. or Coldplay wanted the song in the film.

Since the word "yellow" has racist connotations for Asian and Asian-American people, the studio was reluctant to include the song in Crazy Rich Asians, no matter how thematically perfect. Coldplay apparently had similar reservations, especially since the band has dealt with cultural appropriation accusations in the past. But Chu knew he had to have Coldplay's 2000 hit play over his big finale, for exactly that reason. "We're going to own that term," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "If we're going to be called yellow, we're going to make it beautiful . . . We tried so many other songs, but everything was about the love story and not about the bigger context of who we are."

Warner Bros. eventually saw how important the song was to Chu's vision for the film - "I told them, 'Well, a white director couldn't do it'" - but it wasn't until the director sent a personal letter to Coldplay bandmates Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, and Will Champion that "Yellow" was finally allowed into the movie. Chu shared the letter with THR, an excerpt of which you can read below:

"I know it's a bit strange, but my whole life I've had a complicated relationship with the color yellow . . . That is, until I heard your song. For the first time in my life, it described the color in the most beautiful magical ways I had ever heard . . . I remember seeing the music video in college for the first time on [MTV's] TRL. That oner shot with the sun rising was breathtaking for both my filmmaker and music-loving side. It immediately became an anthem for me and my friends and gave us a new sense of pride we never felt before . . . It would be such an honor to use your song that gave me so much strength throughout the years, to underscore this final part of our film. And for me personally, it would complete a journey that I've been going through, fighting to make it in the movie business."

Within 24 hours of sending his letter, the band approved his musical request and he set about commissioning a Chinese-language cover. The tune ended up landing in the hands (er, vocal cords) of Katherine Ho, a freshman at USC who competed on season 10 of The Voice. She sang the Mandarin version, called "Liu Xing," popularized by Beijing singer Li Wenqi, resulting in a memorable, romantic final scene for the film that's far more significant than most audiences might have initially realized.

As long as your tear ducts are ready to do some work, listen to the gorgeous cover in question ahead.

The Trailer For Chris Pine's Outlaw King Is a Must-Watch For Any Game of Thrones Fan

Chris Pine is leaving the 1980s behind for the 1300s, as he plays real-life Scottish king and rebel hero Robert the Bruce in Outlaw King. The upcoming Netflix historical drama hails from Hell or High Water director David Mackenzie and tells the true story of the reluctant medieval king who finds himself drawn into a vicious battle with King Edward I (Stephen Dillane) and his vengeful, violent son, the Prince of Wales (Billy Howle). In other words: it's the perfect movie to watch as we patiently wait for Game of Thrones to return. The film also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Florence Pugh and will arrive on both the streaming network and in select theaters on Nov. 9.

Jennifer Garner Is Not Turning Her Back on Ben Affleck as He Continues to Battle Addiction

Jennifer Garner appeared to be in good spirits while out and about in LA on Thursday, just one day after she took ex Ben Affleck to rehab. Even though Ben and Jen are no longer together, according to TMZ, the actress reportedly staged an intervention so that Ben could get help for his alcohol addiction. "Ben was having a really tough time," E! News reported. "He continues to battle addiction. He reached out for help this week. He told Jen and was not resistant. He asked her to take him and she wanted to be there for him."

Jen was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this week, and despite the fact that her family was in town, she remained by Ben's side and supported him. "Jen had family in town and a lot going on but she was well aware of what was going on," E! News explained. "She saw the photo of the alcohol being delivered to his house and knew he was home all day and that was the breaking point. Jen told the kids that Ben is sick and needs help from a doctor. She is open and honest with them. It's extremely sad and disappointing that this has happened again, but she will continue to be there for him and not turn her back. She feels like she can't do that to her kids and that she wants him to be in their lives."

This marks Ben's third time in rehab. He first entered rehab for alcohol addiction in 2001 and then again in 2017. Ben and Jen have three kids together, son Samuel and daughters Violet and Seraphina.

Ben recently called it quits with girlfriend Lindsay Shookus after dating on and off since 2015. The actor has since been spending time with Playboy model Shauna Sexton, and Jen is apparently neither pleased nor surprised by the news.

Buying Clear Storage Boxes For My Shoes Is the Smartest Move I Made Since Returning Back to Work

The only thing "easy" about being on maternity leavewas getting ready in the morning. In just under a nanosecond and through bleary eyes, I could dress myself in my finest slept-in sweatpants and already-stained t-shirts.

But if I wanted to upgrade by #OOTD game even a little once I returned to work, I was going to need to find a way to simplify my morning routine. The days of pouring over my closet thinking about the day's look would be long gone; I'd need to find a way to look presentable, and do it quickly. I decided I'd organize my wardrobe and optimize it for my new crazy life.

My closet was long and narrow, with a rod running the length of one side and a few hooks on the other. With not much space for shoes, I'd previously just had them buried in the back and fished them out. But with such limited free time in the mornings now - and a desire to treat my pieces better - I invested in a handful of clear storage boxes.

Now that I'm back at work, this one simple hack has completely simplified my mornings. I never have to search for the missing pair (this can take a long time!), and I can quickly elevate my now-lazy fashion sensibilities by grabbing nice shoes as opposed to just whatever pair of sneakers are within reach.

Find out what I bought and how I made it work.

These Abandoned Disney Park Photos Look Like Scenes From a Postapocalyptic World

When we think of Disney World, "creepy" doesn't usually come to mind. But photos of Walt Disney World's first water park, called Disney's River Country, are making us rethink just how sugary sweet all things Disney-related really are. The park, now abandoned, opened in 1976 and closed up shop 25 years later. A pool within the park was filled with concrete in recent years.

Photojournalist Seph Lawless, who explores eerie abandoned locations all over the country, captured images inside the Orlando park, from vine-covered bridges to overgrown trees and mud-laden former water slides. Admidst the ruins, you can still imagine the former glory of the park, but that glory has long since been lost.

Lawless included the Disney park's images in his book, Abandoned: Hauntingly Beautiful Deserted Theme Parks. Take a look at the apocalypse-like scene at Disney World's first water park ahead, and follow Seph's work on his Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.

Is That Random, Stray Body Hair Due to Your Period - or Something More Serious?

Let's just get right to it: I'm a very hairy person, and I'm cool with that. I'm used to having hair on my head and under my armpits. It surrounds my nipples and other netherbits. It even creeps its way down to my toes. I have so much hair that I've learned to give zero f*cks over how to get rid of it and just let it do its thing instead. That was, until this week, when I noticed a hair spring up somewhere I'd definitely never seen before: on my neck.

The sensation of that little sucker was so new and strange that it tested my hard-earned hair apathy. Many couples spend their nights in cuddling in front of a binge-worthy show; my boyfriend and I spent a recent Tuesday evening debating how to pluck out my neck hair. Ultimately, we did - and discovered it was connected to yet another single strand hiding underneath it.

Because I can't let things go (or so says my therapist - we're working on it), I decided to find out once and for all: what causes us to grow random, stray body hairs? Should I be worried? Keep reading to learn probably more than you ever want to know about those pesky random strands.

These Creepy Photos Give You a Zoomed-In Look at What Hair Damage Really Looks Like

Bleach it. Dye it. Curl it. Bop it.

The amount of hell we put our hair through can feel like a mindless game we can't stop playing, but have you ever taken a second - between the blowouts, hot tools, and layers of product - to think about just how much damage you're actually doing?

Probably not, because unless your hair is literally falling out (which isn't all that uncommon for people with breakage, actually), you might have no idea. That includes us, too, so we shipped off a single strand from three editors, each with different hair types and styling preferences, to Dyson's Malmesbury Technology lab in the UK to assess the situation.

What came back was a creepy, zoomed-in, and surprisingly helpful look at exactly what can happen when you put your hair through the ringer. Keep reading to see the damning photos for yourself and find out what you can do to keep yours healthy. Because damage control isn't just for celebrity publicists, you know.

This Is the 1 Hair Color Trend Blake Lively Always Does - and It's Genius

Blake Lively's full head of hair is the envy of many. Whether it's up in a ponytail or down in pin curls, there's no denying that the actress provides a wealth of long-hair inspo. But while you were spending all your time staring at her hairstyles, you may have overlooked one thing Lively has kept relatively consistent for years: her hair color - or, more specifically, her darker roots.

While many people dread the grown-out look, her approach is the opposite. Hairstylists call the technique of leaving the root area untouched "shadow roots," which is meant to soften the contrast between the natural hair color and the new hair color for a more natural-looking effect. Lively is proof of its success, and you will almost always catch her with her natural dusty brown color at the crown. So if you've been putting off that root touch-up, the photos ahead will convince you to not feel bad about it.

Discover the Cult Favorites From the Women Driving the Clean Beauty Revolution

Women use up to 15 personal-care products every day. We apply lipstick to lift our moods. Mascara to brighten our eyes. Lotions to soften our skin. It's not all harmless self-care and self-expression, though. Many of these beauty products contain controversial ingredients like phthalates, parabens, triclosan, and preservatives, which have been linked to health issues like allergies, cancer, or reproductive harm. In response, women have started a clean beauty revolution. This new billion-dollar industry of safer makeup, skin care, and hair care is driving female entrepreneur business opportunities and creating healthier cosmetics we all want to use.

Female Leadership

"I can't think of any other industry where 90 percent of the leadership comes from women."

Dawn Dobras is the CEO of Credo Beauty, a leading clean beauty retailer that maintains strict ingredient standards and only carries nontoxic products. According to Dobras, Credo stocks more than 115 of the top clean skincare and makeup brands, and more than 90 percent of these companies were founded by women and/or have a female CEO. "I can't think of any other industry where 90 percent of the leadership comes from women - certainly not in fashion, apparel, art, technology, venture capital, or general business," she said. Leading natural brands like Juice Beauty, RMS, and Tata Harper all have women at the helm. Credo fits in with the trend, too. Working mothers make up the company's entire executive team, and the HQ office in San Francisco is all-female. "We care about making sure that our customers have nontoxic and safe options, because we are those customers and they are our friends, sisters, mothers, and daughters," Dobras said.

Safer, Better Products

"Women are more vulnerable to breast cancer and other illnesses that may be triggered by exposure to harmful chemicals."

Lawmakers in Washington DC have failed to update laws regulating personal-care products since 1938. While the EU bans more than 1,300 potentially harmful ingredients, the US outlaws just 30. It can't be a coincidence that women make up less than 20 percent of Congress, which has the power to improve standards. Today, many conventional personal-care products contain ingredients that have been shown to disrupt the body's normal hormone functions. Activists note that women bear most of the risk because their bodies go through sensitive periods of change, including menstrual cycles, and can be more susceptible to cancers caused by toxins. This isn't to say the quality of the product suffers: "The ingredients that our brands use are clean, yes, but also incredibly effective," Dobras said. Because the women creating the products are also using them, consumers can get better payoff.

Meet the Founders

To learn more about the state of the clean beauty industry and what we can expect next, I spoke to eight female founders who are driving innovation with their brands. Ahead, they explain what role women play and share the products they're most proud of. Get ready to discover some cult favorites.

The Reason Princess Diana Stopped Wearing Chanel Will Break Your Heart in a Million Pieces

Princess Diana was a beloved mother, a fashion icon, and one of the most badass members of the royal family. During her life, she wore one memorable outfit after the other, creating strong relationships with designers such as Jimmy Choo, Catherine Walker & Co, and Dior. However, there is a brand that she sadly stopped wearing: Chanel.

During a visit to Australia in 1996, Diana told designer Jayson Brundson that she wouldn't wear Chanel shoes because the double C reminded her of Charles and Camilla. "It was definitely the timing, it being post-divorce," explained Brundson to Harper's Bazaar. He went on: "She would have seen linked Cs and they would have just reminded her of Charles and Camilla. The shoes were quite boldly Chanel, I think they had gold linked Cs on them. And I think for photo optics, people would have honed in on that considering it was so fresh after the divorce as well."

Of course, this was the year her divorce to Prince Charles was finalized. While this choice was by no means a reflection on her love for the brand itself - she had worn Chanel in the past, like the blue skirt suit above - the bold logo clearly was a painful reminder of a very sad and turbulent time in Diana's life.

The Monaco Royals Aren't Afraid of This 1 Style Move, and You'll Love Them For It

One is Karl Lagerfeld's royal muse and granddaughter of Grace Kelly, the other is a former Olympic swimmer and wife of Prince Albert II. Charlotte Casiraghi and Charlene of Monaco are two real-life princesses you should really know about, and not just because of their titles.

Through the years, whether they were spotted at Fashion Week, on a red carpet, or at an official event, Charlotte and Charlene have given us plenty of outfit inspiration. Always impeccably dressed, they never appear to be following any kind of fashion protocol, and they never shy away from one of our favorite pieces of clothing: pants.

From jeans to leather trousers and track pants, the stylish royals have worn them all, proving over and over again that dresses aren't always the best option. Read on to get a closer look at all the times Charlotte and Charlene were the coolest princesses of them all.

Tracee Ellis Ross Might Be Addicted to These Boots, and Holy Crap, We Are Too

Tracee Ellis Ross is, simply put, the coolest person ever. Not only does she share hilarious Instagrams about all things fashion, but when she steps out for public appearances, she looks like she actually wants to be there. You know - doing her thing, smiling brightly for the cameras, and always in a fabulous outfit.

Tracee works with stylist Karla Welch on many of her red carpet looks, but from the number of times she's worn these lace-up Céline boots ($978), I can assume they're a personal favorite she keeps in rotation. Tracee even posted a paparazzi photo of herself debuting them with the caption "SPOTTED BY GETTY // #thegirlwholovestoshop."

Tracee's pick is one of Fall's biggest trends. The shape has a slightly Western flair, especially depending on the heel and whether it's a wedge or point, but the lace-up leather that hits right above the ankle will remind you of corsets from the Victorian era, strapped tightly to the top.

As a true lover of all things vintage inspired, I do feel like, with every step Tracee takes, I'm nearing my breaking point. I. Need. These. Boots. And while Céline carries them in black and brown, which would be favorable shades for the turn of the season, I think ivory just seems to pop - even against an all-white outfit, as Tracee proved at the Jimmy Kimmel Live studio in LA.

Ahead, read on to see three different ways Tracee's worn her prized possession, then consider scooping up her exact pair or all the similar options we surfaced from some of your favorite retailers. It's safe to say these shoes will be everywhere this season, and we're happy to call Tracee the bold pioneer.

Meghan Markle Made This Bag Sell Out in 11 Minutes - Now You Can Buy It at Nordstrom

Like clockwork, when Meghan Markle wears something new, we almost instantly add it to our virtual shopping carts. One of the things we love most about her wardrobe is her covetable bag collection. While Kate Middleton is known for pairing delicate clutches with her looks, Meghan has strayed away from the tiny bags and worn more relatable totes and crossbody styles.

The Dutchess of Sussex often wears one of her favorite brands, Scottish luxury label Starthberry. On her first royal outing, she carried this Strathberry Midi Tote ($675), and according to a press release from the brand, the bag sold out in just 11 minutes. Meghan later stepped out in Edinburgh wearing this Strathberry East/West Crossbody Bag ($645) and we knew we needed it.

With the "Meghan Markle effect" in full force, it hasn't always been easy getting your hands on these stylish bags. But not to worry, because we have good news for you: the highly sought-after brand has officially landed at Nordstrom. These Are the Heels I've Willingly Stood in All Day Long

There's something about wearing a pair of heels that just makes you feel put together; sadly, they're pretty rough on your feet. So usually, my days are spent in sneakers, flat boots, or sandals, just because I can't stand to be uncomfortable. Still, when I stumbled on these Sam Edelman Sammy Sandals ($120), I had to bring them home, planning on them being more of a special-occasion shoe.

One morning, I decided to wear them to brunch, thinking I'd be back home in a couple of hours. But brunch turned into running a few errands and then heading to a party, and before I knew it, I was at dinner. Between walking around New York City all day long and standing at parties, during happy hours, and on the subway, my feet never got achy or sore.

I think Sam Edelman shoes are some of the most comfortable out there, but I was really impressed with this adorable pair. The straps don't dig into my feet and actually keep me feeling secure. They also come in a sandy color, but I love the black, because they'll seamlessly transition to Fall. Suffice it to say, if you're on your feet all day but still want to rock your heels, you have to try these.

10 Reasons Some Men Stay in Bad Relationships Way Too Long

On the journey to find "the one," very few of us get it right the first time (or second, or third, or . . . you get the idea). While a small but lucky few meet and marry before ever having their hearts broken, the road to true love for the vast majority of us is peppered with failed relationships and entire boxes of Kleenex (cue the Alanis Morissette soundtrack and cheap wine).

While breakups undoubtedly suck, they also teach us invaluable lessons. We leave the relationship with a little more wisdom and self-awareness than when we entered, putting us one step closer to finding genuine compatibility. But the truth is, most of us have been guilty of staying in a relationship long past its expiration date at some point in our lives, but men and women will stick it out for different reasons. To find out why the guys will stay in failing relationship, we asked 10 men to share their reasons for sticking around long past leaving time. Here's what they had to say.

5 Truths I Learned About Myself by Dating on Reality TV

I've been around long enough to know that there are some things in life that you just can't force. Finding love is one of them. I've been searching for "Mr. Right" for a little over five years, but I'm starting to think that figment of my imagination doesn't exist. Sure, I've met some great guys on my journey, but no one satisfying enough to call bae. There's this saying that in order to get different results in life, you have to do something differently, and boy, did I. Here are five truths I learned about myself when trying my hand at love on national television.

Cecile Richards: "This Is Not a Theoretical Conversation About Roe. It's Real."

Anyone who assumed Cecile Richards's decision to step down as the president of Planned Parenthood earlier this year amounted to "retirement" doesn't know much about Cecile Richards. The lifelong activist left the organization in April, only to set out on a book tour in support of her (excellent) memoir Make Trouble: Standing Up, Speaking Out, and Finding the Courage to Lead and keep up a busy schedule as a front-lines voice for feminism. Now, Richards is making the rounds to rally support behind the movement to stop Brett Kavanaugh - a judge with an anti-abortion track record who has the stamp of approval from the far-right Federalist Society - from being confirmed to the Supreme Court.

"Women are very aware that other women are doing things that are extraordinary."

We met with Richards over coffee and cookies in LA on a Sunday afternoon, just before she took the stage with fellow activists and celebrities at Rise Up For Roe. The national tour, which wraps up in Des Moines, IA, on Aug. 24, is dedicated to stopping a Kavanaugh appointment in its tracks. Richards shared her advice on how we can mobilize if Roe is eventually overturned, the role she plans to play in the 2018 election - she's still not running, people - and what she's learned from her two adult daughters in light of the #MeToo and Time's Up movements.

10 Perks of Sending Your Kids to Public School

Whenever the public versus private school debate comes up, I have to admit that I have some skin in the game. While private schools are awesome, I don't think public schools get enough credit. They're designed to give a quality education to every student who walks through their doors, and that's pretty amazing. If you're thinking about sending your kids to public school or are a former public school student yourself, keep reading for 10 reasons they're the best.
