Chris Hemsworth Said Having Kids Is "More Important" Than His Acting Career, and We're Melting
Chris Hemsworth, a dad of three and the actor known for playing Thor in the Marvel franchise, admitted that being a father definitely affected his career. In an interview with GQ Australia, he said that although he sometimes wonders what he'd be doing professionally had he not met his wife Elsa Pataky and started a family, he has no regrets.
"There [are] times when I've thought, 'Wow, because having kids is more important to me, some of my roles have suffered,'" said the 35-year-old actor. "There [are] definitely a couple of films I could've put way more energy into but I was like, 'No, I'd rather be with my kids.'"
"You have to open yourself up and go, 'Well, you had kids so you forfeited a bit of that.'"
He also explained that while he does everything with his 6-year-old daughter India Rose and his 4-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan in mind, he still tries to accomplish personal goals as well.
"I often find myself saying it's all for my family but in all this I definitely have personal things I need to achieve, too," said Chris. "The difference is you have to open yourself up and go, 'Well, you had kids so you forfeited a bit of that.'"
Chris added that starting a family boils down to teamwork in a lot of ways: "It can't be a truly individual, selfish endeavor, but we still need to take care of our own. Now my identity is another team, another community - the community being the family. You have to adapt and be malleable."
If You Don’t Sob Through this Marine Meeting His Newborn Son, You Are Made of Stone
There's no question that Marines are some of the toughest humans on the planet, so when one of them openly weeps? Well, it tends to bring out the waterworks in everyone watching.
When Cpl. Brandon Crespo returned home from a six-month deployment, he was greeted by friends and family and one very special person - his 1-month-old son, Noah, whom he had yet to meet until that very moment.
As soon as the Marines were dismissed at the base in Jacksonville, NC, a video shows Brandon running toward his wife, Frances, who was holding baby Noah along with a sign that read, "Out of My Way! I Meet My Daddy Today!" Before Brandon could even scoop up his child, he dropped his hat and started wiping the tears from his eyes. He couldn't stop crying as he held his baby for the very first time. (Go ahead, grab some tissues.)
It was a truly beautiful moment - one that Brandon and Noah will get to treasure forever.

These are perfect for anyone who isn't looking to break the bank or only buy a costume they can wear for one day. I Worked in Retail For 5 Years, and These Are the Only Flats I Could Stand In All Day
Since I'm a shopping editor, people always ask me for advice on what's the best of the best. One question I often field is, "What are the most comfortable flats?" I can speak from experience that these Sam Edelman Felicia Flats ($70-$100) are total winners.
In college, I started working in retail. I often spent six to eight hours, at least five days a week, walking in circles around a store, wreaking havoc on my feet wearing heeled shoes or too-flat flats. After what felt like years of trial-and-error runs of every shoe possible, I finally came to the conclusion that the Felicia flats are my favorite.
Aside from the cute, classic ballet style, I was attracted to them because of the cushioned heeled soles and flexible backs. Importantly, it's a flat that offers support and doesn't cut into the backs of my ankles. From leather to suede, metallic, printed fabric, and even calf-hair, the flats come in an array of materials and more colors and designs than I can even count. A number of their classic styles also come in medium, narrow, and wide choices. What could make them even better? They cost $100 - making them the most glamorous pair I could afford during my college days, but they lasted me for years. I found myself investing in new styles and colors anytime I could, knowing this was the shoe I could always rely on.
Do yourself (and your feet) a favor and get a pair for Fall; you won't regret it. Keep scrolling to shop a few of my favorite picks.
I Was an Overpacker All My Life Until I Did This 1 Thing
I'm not going to lie: I always pack more outfits than I need to for a trip. Always. Being a habitual overpacker is one bad habit that has stuck with me for as long as I can remember. So, when the Swedish clothing brand Ellos invited me on a four-day press trip to Stockholm to celebrate the launch of National Lagom Day, I went about my normal ways after reading the invite and immediately started dreaming up 20 different outfits to pack. What can I say? A girl needs options.
Then it hit me - lagom. As Anne Stephenson, senior vice president of Ellos, said, "Life is about finding your happy medium. The message of 'lagom' is to discover peace in the simple things - a mantra that we have adopted at Ellos." I took a second to take it all in. Lagom is the Swedish word for "just the right amount." I decided that I shouldn't wait to get to Stockholm to find my happy medium when I could start right now.
Instead of trying to squeeze everything I owned into my bag, I made it my mission to be resourceful, without sacrificing style. I turned to pieces I love that could transition easily from activities and pull double duty on my trip. Here I was living the lagom life - and I hadn't even gotten to Sweden yet. Read on to see what I packed, and use these hacks to bring a little lagom to your life, too.
Awkwafina Opened Her Historic Saturday Night Live Episode With a Touching Tribute to Lucy Liu
"Standing here tonight is a dream I never thought would come true. So thank you, @LucyLiu, for opening the door." - @awkwafina pic.twitter.com/wtwzNOfAwK
- Saturday Night Live - SNL (@nbcsnl) October 7, 2018
If you've seen Crazy Rich Asians or Ocean's 8, you'll know that Awkwafina is hilarious. When she opened Saturday Night Live in her first time hosting the show, the 29-year-old actress delivered a touching monologue that paid tribute to Lucy Liu, the first-ever Asian woman to host the show. On Oct. 6, Awkwafina became the second.
See, Awkwafina waited outside of Saturday Night Live when she was 11 years old to try and get into the taping of the episode Lucy hosted in 2000. "I remember how important that episode was for me and totally changed what I thought was possible for an Asian-American woman," Awkwafina said. Adding, "Thank you, Lucy, for opening the door. I wasn't able to make it in the building back then, but 18 years later, I am hosting the show."
Awkwafina's heartwarming monologue was of course not without laughs. In her first line, she said, "I was gonna come out dressed like a water bottle, but apparently someone did that last week." She also managed to slip in a Donald Trump impression in joking about her dad's accent.
Contrary to popular belief, @awkwafina is NOT a #CrazyRichAsian. #SNL pic.twitter.com/DTt8PlTQUA

This Is the Only Way That Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, Will Become Queen
Queen Elizabeth II has been holding onto her title since she was 25 years old, but, eventually, another heir will take the throne in her place. We've all followed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's love story, so it's natural to be curious about whether Prince William and Kate Middleton will ever become king and queen of the United Kingdom. The short answer is it's very likely that they will.
If Queen Elizabeth were to retire, abdicate, or pass away, the line of succession shows that the Prince of Wales, aka Prince Charles (Prince William's father), would become king. If one of those same events occurred to him, then Prince William would be next in line since he is the oldest son. Prince Charles is 69 years old, and if he takes the throne, he'll be the oldest heir to do so.
The line of succession only includes blood relatives, so Kate would only become queen if her husband becomes king. This would technically make her a queen consort, since she's the queen through marriage, not blood. The more you know!
Here Are All the Places You Can Watch Hocus Pocus Just in Time For Halloween
When we think of classic Halloween movies, Hocus Pocus immediately comes to mind. Even though the movie is 25 years old, many of us still love quoting it today. However, if you still want to relive all the magic, you're in luck because you can watch the original as many times as you want starting now. Here are all the places you can catch the beloved Halloween film.
- YouTube: For $2.99, you can watch the film on YouTube.
- Amazon Channels: Amazon gives you the options of either renting the film for $3.99 or purchasing it for $19.99.
- iTunes: You can purchase Hocus Pocus on iTunes for $19.99.
- Google Play: You can rent the film for $2.99 or buy it for $8.99.
- Freeform: The network will be airing the film throughout their 31 Nights of Halloween marathon, which includes back-to-back airings on Halloween.
You Would Never Guess Some of the Stars Considered For A Star Is Born
Think Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper were always in talks to costar in A Star Is Born? Think again! This remake has been in discussion since 2002, and several stars were once in consideration to play fading star Jackson and rising starlet Ally. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper are a match made in Hollywood heaven, so it's hard to imagine some of these other A-listers were once contenders (and some of them even cast before dropping out of the project!). From Tom Cruise, to Jennifer Lopez, to Beyoncé, here are 10 of the stars who could have graced the big screen instead.
As Cute as Lady Gaga Looks With Bradley Cooper, She Looks Even Happier With Her Fiancé
Bad news, A Star Is Born fans - as much as we wish Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper were in a relationship IRL, both stars are already spoken for. Most people know that Cooper and his girlfriend, Irina Shayk, have been hot and heavy since 2015 (and even share a 1-year-old daughter!), but do you know who the notoriously private Lady Gaga is romancing? Though she has had her fair share of romances, the 32-year-old pop star has reportedly been engaged to her 49-year-old agent, Christian Carino, since the Summer of 2017 (which became more than speculation when Lady Gaga showed up to the 2018 Grammys sporting an enormous new rock).
Though the two have been hush-hush about any wedding plans, they have been spotted on several occasions this year looking blissfully in love. From a fun beach day in the Hamptons to a romantic getaway in Malibu, CA, these lovebirds make even a trip to the grocery store look adorable. Most recently, the pair was photographed hopping around Europe during the promotional tour for A Star Is Born. It's good to see that Carino can handle the starlet's busy schedule since - as she revealed in her documentary, not all of her past flames could.
In Five Foot Two, which was filmed while Lady Gaga's relationship with ex-fiancé Taylor Kinney was on the rocks, she says, "I sold 10 million [records] and lost Matt. I sold 30 million and lost Luke. I did a movie and lose Taylor. It's like a turnover. This is the third time I've had my heart broken like this." Despite the 17-year age difference (and the unusual agent-client dynamic), Carino and Lady Gaga seem happier than ever, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for them.
A Star Is Born: If You Don't Know This Guy, You're Crazy, Because He's in Everything
If Bradley Cooper's (also known as Jackson Maine) manager in the new A Star Is Born movie looks familiar to you, there's a good reason. Bobby Maine - Jackson's older brother who also acts as his manager - is played by Sam Elliott, and this veteran actor has been in more TV shows and movies than you probably even realize. Elliott's trademark mustache and Southern drawl gave him a start as a character actor, and he began his career in the 1970s earning credits in several TV Western movies alongside fellow mustachioed actor Tom Selleck. However, since then, Elliott has proven himself to be much more than just a cowboy.
Elliott's big break came in 1985, when he played Gar, his first major supporting role, in the movie Mask. Other major non-Western film roles have included Wade Garrett in Road House, The Stranger (and the narrator) in The Big Lebowski, and Sergeant Major Basil L. Plumley in We Were Soldiers. He has also made appearances in the Marvel universe, playing Thunderbolt Ross in Hulk and The Caretaker in Ghost Rider. But don't worry - the rugged actor still returns to his cowboy roots on occasion, such as when he played General John Buford in Gettysburg and Virgil Earp in Tombstone.
If none of these roles are ringing a bell, then perhaps you recognize Elliott from some of his recurring TV roles, including Grace's love interest Phil Milstein on the second season of Grace and Frankie or Ron Swanson's friend-turned-nemesis Ron Dunn on Parks and Recreation. You also might have spotted him in his Thank You For Smoking cameo as a former Marlboro Man, where Elliott - fun fact - used his own Winchester 1894 rifle for the movie in true cowboy form.
Whether he's riding a horse or bossing around Bradley Cooper, we think it's pretty clear that Sam Elliott and his mustache look ruggedly handsome playing just about any role. Check out the gallery to see Elliott in some of our favorite roles.
35 York Family Photos That Show How Close They've Stayed After Dealing With Divorce
Princess Eugenie of York is marrying Jack Brooksbank in October, and like most brides, she'll be doing so in front of close friends and adoring family members - however, 28-year-old Eugenie does have a "princess" title in front of her name, so the family members involved will be a bit more high-profile than your average relatives. Eugenie will tie the knot at St. George's Chapel in Windsor, England, the same place her cousin Harry married Meghan Markle in May. She is expected to be walked down the aisle by her father, Prince Andrew of York, at the wedding, which her mother, Sarah Ferguson, is reportedly "very involved" in planning.
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson got married in July 1986, almost five years to the day of Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding. At the time of his marriage, Andrew was fourth in line for the throne, and Sarah earned the title Duchess of York. Though they divorced in 1996, Andrew and Sarah have remained close friends and coparents to Eugenie and her older sister, Princess Beatrice; Eugenie has even called her parents "the best divorced couple" she knows, adding, "They just always went out of their way to make us feel loved and secure." Ahead of Eugenie's big day, we've rounded up all the sweetest York family photos over the years, from the day newborn baby Beatrice left the hospital right on up to today.

Regular cleaning tasks like dusting and vacuuming are great for keeping allergies at bay, but what about those damaging particles you can't see? Due to the furniture we buy and air pollutants that get in from outside, your home's air can be full of harsh chemicals and pollutants like formaldehyde, mold, and even car exhaust fumes. While these are almost unavoidable to some degree, the good news is that you don't have to purchase an expensive air purifier to start cleansing the air in your home! Instead, try filling your home with beautiful plants - think of them as nature's air purifiers. And because you can find them on Amazon, all it takes is the click of a button.

This Brand-New Hard Seltzer Flavor Blows Every Other Adult Beverage Out of the Water
Finding that perfect balance between enjoying yourself without consuming thousands of empty calories at happy hour can be the definition of tricky. But thankfully, more and more brands of spiked seltzer - aka bubbly water with booze it in - are popping up left and right. And while we find ourselves hard-pressed to turn down a low-cal drink that will offer a buzz, everyone has a favorite, especially when it comes to flavors.
But lo and behold, White Claw Hard Seltzer just released a brand-new mango flavor that takes the top spot - no questions asked. When you first crack open a can, you're immediately hit with a fresh citrusy scent and the taste is unparalleled.
Hands down the best part of this delicious new drink? At just 100 calories, two grams of sugar, and two grams of carbs, it's utterly guilt-free. Try out the new fruit flavor yourself by picking up a six-pack of White Claw Hard Seltzer ($9) at your nearest liquor store.
Birthday Cake-Flavored 3 Musketeers Are Hitting Walmart Shelves This Month, and OMG
Is it my birthday? No, but it sure feels like it because I just found out that 3 Musketeers is releasing a birthday cake flavor! The sweet new chocolate bars are set to hit Walmart shelves in October, and then they'll be available everywhere in January, according to Candy Hunting. Believe it or not, this is the first new flavor from 3 Musketeers since 2012's Coconut. The chocolate candy bar with a light and airy nougat filling is certainly delicious on its own, but the sugary, vanilla-y birthday cake flavor will totally take it up a notch. Look out for the fun packaging, and consider this a gift to us all.
I Tracked Every Dollar I Spent For a Month - and Sh*t Got Real
For 30 days straight, I wrote down every single dollar I spent. Yes, I know - you're thinking, "Girl, you're cray." Well, you're right. I didn't just estimate the cost or round up to the nearest cent. I meticulously snapped photos of receipts, used notes on my phone, and took videos of myself shopping.
If I went into a coffee shop and grabbed an overpriced latte, I wrote it down. If I went into Sephora and spent $103.95 on acne scrub and exfoliating masks, I wrote it down.
It was enlightening, it was mood-shifting, and it was just plain hard.
Tracking your spending is like the equivalent of counting calories. Both practices make you question your decision-making skills, both can transform your life in unique ways, but only one can set you up for financial success.
Here are the five things I learned from tracking my spending for one month.
Keep Colds at Bay With Chicken Noodle Soup
A few days ago, my good friend made me an incredible, soothing bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup when I was feeling sick. I swooned at the natural creaminess, intoxicating flavors, and perfectly cooked shredded chicken. She sent me home with a quart of leftovers, but I finished it fast and still craved more of this traditionally healing soup.
Although food cooked for you by other people always tastes better, this recipe is quite delicious and worthy of making for yourself, friends, and family, especially as cold season approaches.
Please the Entire Family With This Instant Pot Recipe For Tortilla Soup
It's time for everything pumpkin spice and warm and cozy, and soup is topping our Fall food list. A favorite soup of mine to order is tortilla soup, but after making my own homemade version, I don't think I'll ever go back to the restaurant one. Melt-in-your-mouth chicken, bites of sweet corn, and chunks of creamy avocado - it doesn't get better than that. This recipe requires minimal prep and only seven minutes of cooking in the Instant Pot. Looking for a quick dinner to make for a crowd? Then it's time to try this recipe for delicious tortilla soup!

That Instant Bond When You Give Birth? Nope - My Baby Was a Stranger
If you're a mom, there's a pretty good chance that the day your baby was born is one that is forever seared into your memory. Most moms I know will talk about that moment when they met their baby for the first time. You know, that moment when you finally meet the person who's been inhabiting your body for the better part of a year, and your heart pretty much bursts out of your chest. The moment when you're completely overcome with love and joy, the likes of which you've never known before. You know what I'm talking about, right? No? That's OK. Neither do I. When my daughter was born, that wave of inexplicable love didn't wash over me. There was no immediate and unbreakable bond between us. My daughter was a complete stranger.
I was sure that something was wrong with me, and I agonized over the fact that this feeling everyone told me I would have hadn't come.
It wasn't that I hadn't been excited to meet her. I wanted nothing more than to be a mother, and after years of trying along with a handful of failed fertility treatments, I was ecstatic when I finally learned that I was pregnant. I was even more excited when I found out that I was expecting a little girl. I spent the months of my pregnancy planning, shopping, decorating, and dreaming of what life would be like when we finally welcomed our baby. I also looked forward to this rush of unconditional love that I was supposed to experience, and on the big day, when it didn't come, I was beside myself with an ugly mix of worry and guilt.
The day she was born wasn't without emotion. In fact, it was riddled with it. I was nervous on my way to the hospital, excited when they were prepping me for the OR, calm once I got in there, elated when I heard her first cry, and awestruck by the sheer perfection of such a tiny human. But there was no rush; no wave of love so great or so intense that it manifested itself as physical pain in my chest. There was no great bond when we locked eyes for the first time. I was sure that something was wrong with me, and I agonized over the fact that this feeling everyone told me I would have hadn't come. My joy was momentarily replaced by guilt over the fact that this perfect, tiny human was a perfect, tiny stranger. I hoped that maybe, if we took some time to get to know one another, then everything would be OK. And that's exactly what happened.
I can't pinpoint the exact moment when it happened, but . . . eventually . . . that bond and wave of love did come. And now, four-and-a-half years later, it washes over me countless times a day. Unsolicited hugs, kisses, and just watching her live her life fills me with a type of love I never thought possible. I know my daughter, and I know that I would go to the ends of the earth for her.
Looking back, there was nothing wrong with me. Nor is there anything wrong with the countless other moms who don't feel an instant connection to their baby. Every mom, every baby, and every experience is different, and different is OK. I promise it will come, and I can assure you that you're doing better than you think you are.
13 Horror Films That Won't Scar Your Tweens For Life
As a Certified Wimp™, there are only a few scary movies that I can really handle watching to ensure I don't spend the next week having nightmares over a film's plot. However, I was forced to watch tons of horror movies as a kid at sleepovers and birthday parties, because it's apparently some kind of rite of passage as a tween and teen to sit through scary movies with friends and not completely freak out (which I never once succeeded at, for the record).
Whether you're a horror film buff or not, you may have a budding scary-movie-lover on your hands (or just a kid who wants to watch all of the movies in various Halloween movie marathons on TV without really knowing what they're getting into). To ease your 9- to 13-year-olds into scary movies, there are a handful of classics and a few newer horror films that have just the right amount of fright - there's nothing too terrifying, but nothing too childish on this list. (You know your kid best, so before watching some of these films, you may have to consider what your child can handle, despite the age each film is considered appropriate for.)
Read ahead for 13 scary movies that are perfect to pop on at your tween's next sleepover, during a Halloween party, or on your next family movie night (and check out this larger list of Halloween movies for kids of all ages).

Whether it's a night out with friends, checking yourself into a hotel for the night, or just taking a quiet bath - do whatever it is that helps you feel human again. And if you're a little stuck for ideas, keep reading for 16 things you can do to recharge.
I Put My Marriage Before My Kids, Because Their Happiness Depends on Ours
My parents were married for over 25 years before my dad passed away. It sounds sweet, right? Living out the whole "'til death do us part" part of your vows. But it wasn't necessarily 25 plus years of marital bliss. Growing up, I remember more screaming matches than conversations, more door slams than jokes being cracked, and more crying than laughing. I remember worrying about having friends over for fear of being embarrassed by one of their brawls. And even at the very end, as my dad was dying, it was evident that my parents didn't like each other very much. I would never say that I had a bad or unhappy childhood, but it was, at times, stressful. And for that reason, I make sure to put my marriage first, even before my children. Their childhood and their happiness depends on it.
We're the parents, and we make the decisions. And usually those decisions are based on what's going to be in the best interest of our marriage.
My husband and I were married for almost six years before our daughter entered the mix. For years, I thought we had waited too long before having children. But now, I realize it was for the best. We were 24 and 25 when we got married; not children by any means, but we still had a lot of growing up to do. We'd dated for almost four years before getting married, but didn't move in together until after our wedding, so it didn't take long before we realized that there was a whole new set of kinks that had to be worked out. Some of those kinks were small and quirky, while others were more serious and actually threatened our marriage. And, most importantly, we hadn't really learned how to work through our disagreements. When we would argue, which wasn't all that frequent, my husband didn't want to talk much about it, whereas I wanted to talk it to death. So each of us would sit there in silence, letting things fester. And the longer he went without talking, the more infuriated I became. Eventually, all hell would break loose and our argument turned into a days-long fight, and neither of us was willing to yield. On top of our not knowing how to communicate effectively, those first years of our marriage were riddled with tragedy: one death after another in both families and then an infertility diagnosis that nearly broke us for good. If we had brought a baby into the mix before we had fixed the problems in our marriage, things would have almost certainly gone downhill fast.
About five years into our marriage, something happened. Everything got quiet. At first, I thought we were entering a real calm before the storm, but then all of a sudden, we figured out that the best way to approach things was together. It was something so painfully obvious, yet we had somehow missed it in the midst of everything going on around us. Once we figured this out, it was like magic. The dark clouds lifted, we fell in love all over again, and everything finally started falling into place. And when our daughter was born the following year, she only made things better. Growing up in a house that was in turmoil on a fairly regular basis, I knew that I wanted the opposite for my daughter. I also knew that that was only possible if my husband and I had a strong marriage that we put before our children.
Keeping our marriage strong is something we are constantly working on. We make it a point to date one another. We routinely put our phones away and talk about things other than our children (we now have three). And when it comes to our kids, we've set some nonnegotiable rules (much to their dismay at times) for the sake of our marriage.
For starters, they're not allowed in our bed. Ever. I've gotten some backlash for this one, because people say, "What if they're scared?" But, sorry not sorry, our bed is sacred. Another thing we don't budge on? Time to ourselves. Whether it's an actual date night or just some time to sit down together and talk uninterrupted at the kitchen table, we carve out time and space where our children are not to be included unless there's an actual emergency. And if something comes up that we can't successfully talk through, then we'll sit down with an objective third party: a marriage counselor who is wonderful at helping us see things from the other's point of view. And finally, we don't let our children dictate any decisions we make for our family (other than choosing the movie for Friday family movie night). We're the parents, and we make the decisions. And usually those decisions are based on what's going to be in the best interest of our marriage: what is going to keep us sane versus what is going to make them happy in that moment.
We love our children unconditionally, which is why we put our marriage first. Obviously, if it ever came down to saving one of us, my husband knows that he'd better save our children instead of me. But we know that if we're unhappy, they're going to be unhappy. Are there hiccups sometimes? Or course, because no marriage - and no family - is perfect.
Very recently, my daughter drew a picture of my husband and me. She drew us hugging with huge smiles and put a heart around us, and then decorated the page with more hearts. She's 4 and did it in pen. Of all the pictures she's ever made for us, this one is my favorite, because this one lets me know that in spite of all the mistakes we're undoubtedly making as we stumble through this whole parenting journey, if that's how she sees us, then we're doing something right.
New Study Finds Some BIG Behavioral Benefits to Kids Who Attend Daycare
If you send your child to daycare - and, more specifically, if you ever feel guilty about sending your child to daycare - you are going to love the results of a new study out of France.
Among other findings, researchers discovered that children who attended daycare before the age of 3 were more social than children who did not. Although such strides in socialization might be expected from daycare, what was more surprising was that these children were also better behaved than kids who were raised by a nanny or a stay-at-home parent or family member.
The study, created by Sorbonne University and published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, tracked the emotional well-being and development of nearly 1,500 children from when they were born until they turned 8 years old. During that time, parents were tasked with filling out surveys about their children's behavior and mental health as well as their childcare status in their first three years of life.
And the positive impact wasn't just evident during the early years in which the children attended daycare. These kids were also more likely to see a long-term effect on their development, exhibiting fewer behavioral and social problems into early adolescence.
"Access to high-quality childcare in the first years of life may improve children's emotional and cognitive development, prevent later emotional difficulties, and promote prosocial behaviors," Dr. Maria Melchior, one of the study's authors, said of the findings.
And although this certainly doesn't mean parents with babies at home should switch up their childcare structure, it is another reason for parents of daycare babies to feel good about the choice they made.
