The One Product That's Made Bedtime SO Much Easier For My Family

It was 10 p.m. and I was on the rocking chair in my toddler's bedroom waiting for her to sleep, like my husband or I had done every night for the past five nights. We had just returned from a trip abroad and were cursing ourselves for "breaking" our child who once slept through the night, but now had all sorts of new and complicated sleeping patterns and requests for us to try to figure out. She needed it to be light, but not too light. The sound machine that used to softly lull her to sleep now jolted her awake the second it shut off automatically after 42 minutes. I was desperate, texting my husband from her bedroom (and hiding under a blanket so she couldn't see the light from my phone). My husband and I frequently come up with parenting inventions and at that moment, an idea struck. I texted him immediately and, as you can see, I really thought I struck gold with this one:

The product that "seemed to exist"? It's called the Hatch Baby Rest ($59.99), and it's a game-changer. It doesn't run off batteries and it doesn't come in cute animal shapes, but it is what we actually needed. I placed my order on Amazon before I stealthily left her bedroom.

Our Hatch arrived two days later, and here's what I love about it:

  • I am able to set programs based on her schedule. Right now we have a bedtime program, which runs every day from 7:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. with the dim light and ocean sounds. We have a "Time to Rise" program that turns on a pink light at 7 a.m. to let our daughter know that it's an acceptable time for her to wake up. She's still learning what "Time to Rise" means, but we'll get there! And we have it turn for her naps on the weekends.
  • It's synced to my phone via Bluetooth, so I can make adjustments as needed without stepping inside her bedroom.
  • It's small and lightweight, which makes it easy to pack on vacations.
  • We've been able to adapt it to our daughter's needs. She initially was okay sleeping in a dark room, so we'd have the light turn off after two hours. Now she needs the nightlight, so we simply changed the settings and keep the light on all night. It is one of those rare products that I know would have been good when she was an infant, and is still useful 2.5 years later.

It's $60, so above the price point I had set for my invention, but was well-worth the extra $10.

Nope, We'll Never Be Able to "Let It Go" When It Comes to This Adorable Newborn Photo Shoot

Karen Marie, the owner of Belly Beautiful Portraits and the queen of eye-catching Disney-inspired photography, recently created one of her favorite projects to date: a Frozen-themed newborn photo shoot that Elsa would be jealous of.

As a big fan of the movie, she said the theme was a no-brainer. "I love Disney and especially the princesses," Karen told POPSUGAR. "The sister bond in the movie and the song 'Let It Go' has a special meaning to me."

"I love the fact that Frozen is about facing your fears and embracing who you are."

Karen admitted she also believes the movie conveys a strong message to little ones: don't be afraid to be yourself.

"I love the fact that Frozen is about facing your fears and embracing who you are," said Karen. "It's magical! The bond between sisters and siblings is special and it's shown in this movie. After singing the songs over and over with my daughters and standing in line at the Disney store for three hours before the mall opens to get an Elsa gown . . . I think I'm slightly partial."

And this isn't the first time Karen has produced truly magical pictures. Previously, she did a full-on Disney princess shoot and even dressed up two little ones as Mickey and Minnie. Scroll through to get a look at Elsa and the gang. Keep your eyes peeled for a mini Olaf!

9 Fortnite Costumes That'll Encourage Your Kid to Put Down the Game and Trick-or-Treat

If your child has been living and breathing Fortnite this year, you're not alone - and we feel your pain. And while we may not care to understand all the ins and outs of the game (all we know is we hear a lot of screaming while they play), we're of the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" camp and would rather not fight the craze (the alternative is dealing with angry tweens, so, no thanks). With that said, we've gone ahead and scoured the web for the Fortnite characters we know our kids are going to ask to be for Halloween.

To be fair, a bunch of these are fleece jumpsuits that your kids can wear all Winter long while they're holed up in their room rotting in front of their Xbox. It's not ideal, but at least they'll be warm. And another silver lining: if they're wearing these costumes on Oct. 31, you can encourage them to go outside to trick-or-treat, which will get them off the game and out of the house for at least a couple hours. Win-win?

45+ Halloween Jokes For Kids That Will Bring Out Their Evil Laughs

Halloween can be a very spooky holiday (there's never a shortage of haunted houses, scary stories, and horror movies), but when you have kids, it's fun to lighten the mood a little to give things a less terrifying spin. And to them, there's really nothing not to love about Halloween. They get to dress up in awesome costumes, walk around their neighborhood with their friends, and get free candy all night long! And since kids love jokes - both hearing them and telling them - we've put together a great compilation of kid-friendly Halloween ones. They'll make you a hit at your kids' Halloween party and make them a hit with their friends at school. Keep reading to see them all now, and prepare to do your best evil "muhahaha."

My Kids Are Too Young For Halloween, but I Bring Them Trick-or-Treating Anyway

Many parents opt out of taking their babies trick-or-treating on Halloween. I get it. The kids are too small, they won't remember a thing, they can't walk up to a house and ask for candy, and you feel a little bad splurging on an adorable costume that definitely won't fit them for more than a week. But if you're on the fence about taking your littlest ones door-to-door this year, I'm here to tell you that it can also be totally worth it.

No, they won't remember their first time trick-or-treating, but they will have those obnoxious family photos with our matching costumes to look back on.

For my son's first Halloween, he was only five months old, so I debated whether or not I should take him trick-or-treating. Bringing him meant I had to carry him, and if he was in a costume, that would make things even more of a challenge. It also meant that my husband and I had to do all the actual trick-or-treating while he smiled and charmed everyone. But as most first-time parents know, we really wanted to show him off. So, after a little bit of thought and a lot of costume searching, we dressed him up in a Detroit Tigers costume. He couldn't have looked any cuter. My husband, in-laws, and I walked the streets and took turns having him strapped inside the baby carrier or planted on our hip. People kept stopping us and commenting about how cute he was, and to be honest, hearing those things all night made me so happy. My son was all smiles at every new face that looked his way (many of whom were in costumes), and even though he won't remember it, I like to think that gave him a really good foundation for fun Halloween memories. So, after that first successful year, we decided to do it again when we had our daughter.

We immediately became that family of four that wears matching themed costumes. Cheesy, I know, but I just can't help myself. It's so fun! On my daughter's first Halloween, we all went as part of the Curious George crew. My husband was The Man with the Yellow Hat, I was Professor Wiseman, my almost 2-year-old son was Curious George himself, and our baby daughter was a banana. She definitely won't remember her first time trick-or-treating with her big brother, but she will have those obnoxious family photos with our matching costumes to look back on, and that's more than worth it to me. The photos will serve as a reminder of the early days when my husband and I were just starting to build our very own family traditions.

I understand why some parents don't want to bring their babies trick-or-treating, but I definitely don't think those who do should be shamed because of it. Yes, it's a lot of work and the weather rarely cooperates, but it's also about spending quality time together as a family. And those photos (of matching costumes or not) will last a lifetime for both you and your children. You'll be able to look back on them and tell your kids all about their very first Halloween, and that's something they'll always remember.

21 Moms Opening Up About Their Hardest Stages of Parenting Will Break Your Heart

Parenting is full of twists and turns at every stage. Just when you think you've got things down, you're thrown a new curve ball that you either never saw coming or knew was coming, but still have no idea how to handle. When I had my first child, I couldn't imagine anything being harder than the newborn stage. Boy, was I wrong. The toddler years nearly did me in! And now that I'm parenting a tween, I'm not sure I'll survive these years either. But, as parents, we figure it out and persist, because what else would we do? I asked my friends to dish on what the hardest part of parenting has been for them so far just to make sure I wasn't alone. So if you need some validation that you aren't totally screwing things up (you're not, I promise), keep reading.

How a Stranger's Comment Changed the Way I Parent

We'd spent a few hours at the beach during our Spring break trip to San Diego when the weather turned and we decided to pack it up and head out. I juggled sandy beach toys and wet towels in my arms and attempted to convince my 2-and-a-half-year-old that it was a good idea to leave the endless playground that is the beach while my husband followed behind with the folding chairs and our crying 4-month-old. As we trudged through the sand, I noticed an older man look at us and heard him comment sweetly to his wife: "Those were the days, weren't they?"

I stopped - not physically, because that would have sent plastic toys flying and my toddler running - but inwardly, and when we got back to the car my voice cracked as I told my husband what I'd heard. There weren't actual tears, though that wouldn't have been too surprising for my sentimental self, but I got emotional thinking about it. These are the days. We're in them, living them. Right. Now.

It was a powerful reminder for me as a mom. Especially as a mom who, at the time, was only four months in with two kids and who'd spent the first eight weeks after my second son's birth wondering how on earth anyone has more than one child and their sanity. It had taken me a while to get into a groove and there were more than a few mornings when I had to force myself to get up to tend to a crying child and even more afternoons when I wondered how early was too early to pour a glass of wine.

Juggling 2-year-old tantrums with nap schedules and never-ending bedtime routines makes for some long days, and when you throw in being responsible for actually feeding the entire family and maintaining the relationship that got you there in the first place, it can be overwhelming.

The grocery shopping and the lunch packing and the endless picking up of toys. The busyness of all the little things starts to drown out the beauty of it all as one big thing. It's easy to lose sight of how magical a time it is when you're in the middle of the everyday, but that man's comment reminded me that the days when our children are little are the days that we'll be nostalgic for once they're calling us for money instead of whining for more Cheerios.

In the weeks since, I've made a conscious effort to replay those words and that scene at the beach in my mind. We were sticky with sunscreen, hair tangled from the wind, hands full of stuff, dragging our babies through the sand, and instead of seeing chaos, that man saw us as a beautiful memory of his own young family. We were the highlight reel.

The potty training accidents, the endless snack requests and subsequent spills, the constant fight over the need to actually be buckled into a car seat - these may not be the highlights of each day, but somewhere along with that first baby smile, the hilarious comments only a toddler is capable of making, and the out-of-nowhere hugs that make you want to freeze time, they all combine to make one amazing lifetime of experiences.

The challenge is remembering that the next time your toddler intentionally throws a plastic fire truck at your infant's head after they both refused to nap all day and you just realized there's no food in the house for dinner. Man, these are the days.

Attention Parents! Target’s Hosting an L.O.L. Surprise Event in November That You Can’t Miss

Hold onto your sanity, mamas - Target is hosting an epic L.O.L. Surprise! event for your blind bag-loving kiddos, and we imagine it's going to be some Black Friday level craziness. However, if your kid is obsessed with the mini L.O.L. Surprise pets, dolls, and other toys, you know that this event is going to be the place to be for little kids.

On Saturday, Nov. 10, at local participating stores (find out if your store will be hosting the event here), Target is hosting L.O.L. Surprise! Eye Spy Pets Scavenger Hunts from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. local time. Your kids can join in the L.O.L. fun by decoding clues to find the missing L.O.L. Surprise pet somewhere in the store. Once they find the pet, they'll have the chance to purchase an exclusive L.O.L. Surprise! Pet Ball.

The event isn't limited to the scavenger hunt, however. There will also be selfie stations and giveaways every 30 minutes (while supplies last). Sounds like a grand old time to us (both literally and with a little apprehension). See you there?

33 Adorable Halloween Costumes That Won't Break the Budget - All Under $25

Rather than paying a big price for a costume that you know your kid likely isn't going to want to repeat (or even wear for that long!), consider a budget-friendly alternative that doesn't compromise on cuteness.

Check out these 33 must-see costumes that are all $25 or less!

These Girls Dressed as the Sanderson Sisters From Hocus Pocus, and OMG, Winnie Is Spot-Freakin’-On

I smell children, Winnie . . . like, really adorable children dressed up in absolutely spot-freakin'-on Sanderson sisters costumes. The Grabenstein sisters of Waco, TX, 6-year-old Landri and 8-year-old twins Alli and Maddi, just crushed the Halloween game weeks before Oct. 31 - and we're not even mad about it. The sisters asked their mom, Heather, if they could watch Hocus Pocus on Oct. 1, and the rest appears to be history.

The girls' costumes were done well ahead of Halloween, so Heather enlisted the help of Heather Rust, a Waco photographer, to snap photos of the girls, who get completely into character as Winnie, Mary, and Sarah.

Check out the photos ahead to see how seriously incredible the girls' transformation into the Sandersons was.

This Is What It's Like to Have a Child You Don't Know Will Make It to Adulthood

Like most parents, my spouse and I think about our daughters' futures all the time. But unlike most parents, we also have to think about whether one of our children, Freyja, who was born with pontocerebellar hypoplasia type 2 - a very rare and severe neurological disorder - will even have a future, and if she does, what it might look like. She's 7, and her diagnosis is so severe that most people born with it don't survive childhood. In some ways, she's more physically and neurologically capable than similarly diagnosed children, and she's simultaneously significantly delayed in virtually every way compared to her neurotypical peers, so we have no clear indication of her prognosis. In short, we plan for everything and prepare for anything.

Because we have no concrete reason not to, we operate under the assumption that she will live a long and healthy life. So does she. She has no idea that she has already outlived many of her PCH peers. Medically and developmentally, she continues to gain strength where others atrophy and regress. She learns slowly and makes measured progress, so we all have good reason to be optimistic. She often begins sentences with "When I'm older" and tells people she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Sometimes I find myself correcting her in my head. If you grow up, you mean. But then tears spring to my eyes at the horrific thought and I force myself to think positively, shooing away my pessimism with monthly contributions to her college fund.

She wants so badly to be independent, to be like everyone else - but she isn't like everyone else. She's different, and because of her disability, she may always need [help].

She may never be a teacher, but her doctors think she very well could grow into an adult with a livelihood, employed or otherwise engaged in some capacity or other. It's hard for us to imagine what independence in adulthood will look like for her, because it's hard for us to grapple with it in childhood. She wants so badly to be independent, to be like everyone else - but she isn't like everyone else. She's different, and because of her disability, she may always need accommodations that will make what you and I think of as fully independent living look very different for her. The problem with this is that's not Freyja.

In many ways, she's like any other 7-year-old. She likes to play dress-up, go swimming, and be read to. She loves cats, mac and cheese, and going to the movies. But then she breaks down when she can't rollerblade the way her sister can, crying, "Why can't I do it like she can? It hurts my legs and it's not fair!"

Accepting her difference is harder than one might think. She's deceptively interactive, and most of the time, her charm is captivating and engaging. Well-intentioned teachers, parents, therapists, and friends tell her all the time that she really is no different from anyone else and that she'll be able to do anything if she just puts her mind to it. This is sweet and flattering, but it also infuriates me, because it's untrue. I love my daughter and am wowed by her accomplishments every single day, but she has some very real limitations. Expressing this to the people in Freyja's world who love her can be a challenge, so finding a way to express it to Freyja herself is heartbreakingly difficult.

I believe my daughter is capable of great things. I believe she'll continue to surprise and amaze her neurologists with all she learns and does. But do I think she has the same career prospects as I did? No. She's not like all the other kids, and if she does grow up to be an adult, she won't be like all the other adults. I am and will continue to be her number one fan and her strongest, loudest advocate, but I refuse to set her up for failure to achieve the impossible.

We can't pretend that we don't see her disability, that she can do it, that she has an equal chance. It's just not true or fair to her. When she wants to do something on her own that all her friends are doing, she's not allowed to because it's often dangerous. At school, she has a full-time 1:1 paraprofessional whose responsibility it is to keep her safe. She can't cross the street by herself. She's been toilet trained since the age of 3, but multiple times a day, she has no choice but to surrender her dignity and allow adults to help her in the bathroom because the balancing act of undressing, sitting, wiping, and dressing is beyond her physical ability. It's humiliating and frustrating for her to have to be so dependent on another person, but it's not something I can change overnight.

Full independence is relative for our daughter at 7, just as it will be at 17 and at 27. Maybe she will always live with us but have her own space. In preparation for this, we bought a Cape house with an en-suite bedroom on the ground floor and had the shower renovated to be wide enough to accommodate a walker. For now she prefers to share the upstairs bedroom with her sister, but I anticipate that someday she will tire of being helped up and down the stairs multiple times a day. Maybe she'll live in a group setting, or in her own apartment with a personal care attendant to help her with activities of daily living that continue to be beyond her grasp. Maybe the living situation that awaits her is one we have not yet considered.

Similarly, employment, should it prove possible for her, may look very different. Her future employers will need to think outside the box when it comes to equal opportunity and ADA compliance. Her future boss will have to re-envision success. A ramp into the building and rails on the walls is a start, but pretending that she's like everyone else except for her walker or wheelchair won't work. I dream that there exists an employer who will take a chance on her, offering her a job that speaks to her strengths and gives her power, all while holding space for her challenges.

Like all parents, our daughters' futures are still uncertain, which is both scary and exciting. But unlike all parents, we're still hoping that one of them actually gets to have one.

I Don't Let My Kids Eat Their Halloween Candy, but I Swear I'm Not a Witch

Like most kids, Halloween was my favorite holiday growing up. Why? Candy, obviously. The costumes and haunted houses were fun and all, but my goal was to stockpile as much candy as humanly possible, ditch all the garbage nobody wanted (you know who you are, toothbrushes, dimes, and Bit-O-Honey), and see how much of that sweet treasure I could consume in one night.

Now that I'm a parent (who also happens to be a nutritionist), my views toward Halloween have changed just a smidge, and, yes, I am that mom who makes her kids trade in their trick-or-treat candy. Before you call me a bad mom and tell me how my plan is going to backfire in my face when my kids turn into candy-gorging monsters who hide empty wrappers under their bed, hear me out.

It's not easy, but I do try to strike a balance between being overly strict and allowing Halloween to turn into a month-long candy fest. I do this by limiting the number of Halloween activities we participate in and by having my kids turn in most of the Halloween candy they collect.

Seriously, though, when did the entire month of October turn into one long Halloween party? Before I had kids, I naively believed that you celebrated Halloween by trick-or-treating on Oct. 31. Now there are trunk-or-treats, school parties, and something called "Boo at the Zoo." At first, we got wrapped up in the excitement of taking our little guys out to show off their costumes. We quickly realized, however, that they were getting candy pretty much every weekend in October, and Halloween lost some of its sparkle. Now, we limit the festivities to one function during the month of October and then trick-or-treating on Halloween night. It's definitely helped to get the candy situation under control, and bonus, I don't have to constantly say "no" every time my kids whine for "just one more piece."

With the candy they do bring home, we let them go through it and pick out a few of their favorites (who am I to deny someone the joy of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup?), and then they trade in the rest of their candy for a special prize. We don't go over the top with it (I'm pretty sure my oldest chose a lightsaber from Target last year). And this year, I plan to give them a dollar limit and let them choose a toy or a few art supplies they've been asking for.

Even though I don't want all that candy in our house, I still feel guilty just throwing it in the trash. Last year, we found out through Facebook that a local dentist office was accepting candy donations to be sent to our troops overseas. We even have a local grocery store that will trade your candy for fresh produce!

Depending on where you live, you should be able to search the name of your city and "Halloween candy donation" or "candy buy back" and come up with a few options for donating your unwanted candy. If your search comes up empty, you can reach out directly to Operation Gratitude, Operation Shoebox, or Ronald McDonald House to find ways to donate. If all else fails, make this Halloween Candy Graveyard and invite a few friends over so you can share your sugary riches.

Step Aside, Screen Time: Fortnite Monopoly Is Here to Steal Game Night

Parents, it's time for a Fortnite-ervention. Maybe you've woken up in the middle of the night to find your kids still glued to that damn controller, or you've had enough of saying, "What?" every time your kid talks to someone on their headset only to realize for the hundredth time they're not speaking to you - we can all agree that Fortnite is taking over. But have no fear, concerned parental units, we've found the ideal activity to convince your kids to finally put down the controller, and they might not even scream! Enter Monopoly: Fortnite Edition ($28), the perfect way to reclaim game night and have the whole family in on the fun.

Similar to the video game, two to seven players can choose from 27 different outfits and battle to "pick up health packs, build walls, and damage their opponents." Hasbro recently released the game, which is available from multiple sellers on Amazon, and it already has rave reviews. One person wrote that they played the game six times in one sitting because of how much they loved the format. "The game is completely different from the traditional Monopoly game and I loved it," they added.

Just like the video game, the last person still standing at the end wins, but instead of Monopoly money, the players collect health point chips. Shop the fun game below, and rejoice as the entire family brings back game night.

The 10 Most Important Things I've Learned After 10 Years of Marriage

In less than two months, my husband and I will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Over the past decade, it feels like we've been through it all: we've had our good times and our bad, our sickness and our health, and have been both richer and poorer. We've made three major moves, purchased two homes, and had three children together. We've fallen in love, fought like cats and dogs, almost split, and fallen in love all over again. Given all that, I think it's safe to say we've grown a lot along the way. Here are ten life lessons I've learned after ten years of marriage.

9 Halloween Games That Will Make Any Sleepover a Spooky Delight

If you love to throw parties for your kids, Halloween is the perfect time to pull out all of the stops. Unlike other holidays, Halloween is all about the theme, the costumes, and the candy. Many times, these parties can turn into sleepovers (sometimes you plan it that way, and sometimes your kid begs you to let their friends stay over). And when that happens, it's so fun to have a few creepy games on hand to enhance the Halloween mood (just make sure all of the kids are old enough and can handle it!). Whether it's a slightly spooky one that uses a Ouija board to connect to the spirit world or a chanting ritual in the mirror (I'm pretty sure I still can't order more than two Bloody Marys at brunch), there's a handful of games that will keep everyone talking well after Oct. 31. Keep reading to see them all now . . . if you dare.

Herbal Essences Just Made Its Packaging So Much More Inclusive

Unless you're visually impaired, you may have never considered the difficulties of showering without being able to see. Procter and Gamble employee Sam Latif, who is visually impaired, however, understood this as a daily struggle. Because shampoo and conditioner bottles are frequently the same size and shape, it's hard to distinguish between them when you're unable to read the label.

That's why she teamed up with Herbal Essences to create shampoo and conditioner packaging with indentations on the bottles to make is easier for those who cannot rely on their sight. To help distinguish between the two, the shampoo bottle has four vertical lines on the bottom of the back label, while the conditioner has two rows of dots.

This inclusive new design will make it easier for the 23 million people in the United States who are visually impaired. Latif is glad she came to Procter and Gamble with her problem, telling Business Wire, "Every time I pick up this new bottle in the shower, I smile. Knowing for the first time in my life I can be so sure that its shampoo, that feels great, and I hope others experience this same feeling."

See the new packaging ahead.

Halloween Makeup to Use If You Have Sensitive Skin, According to the Pros

You know what's more traumatizing than Pennywise, Freddy Krueger, and Aviva Drescher's father from The Real Housewives of New York City? Halloween makeup that destroys sensitive skin.

If you don't know, many of those prepackaged paint kits sold at your local drugstore can actually do a lot of damage to your visage. Even some of the professional-grade products can do some harm if you're averse to certain ingredients.

We spoke with dermatologist Dr. Jennifer Herrmann, MD, of Moy-Fincher-Chipps Dermatology in Beverly Hills, Mehron Professional Makeup Artist Pamela Faller and Patrick Magee, Makeup and Mask Supervisor for Universal Studios Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights about products that can be the most detrimental, plus what you should use when you have sensitive skin. The 1 Beauty Look Kate Middleton ALWAYS Wears to Weddings

Kate Middleton is no wedding guest novice. In fact, since getting together with Prince William, she's had quite a few weddings to attend, and there's one thing we're always eager to see: her hair and makeup. Because she is affiliated with the royals, you won't see any wild hair colors or bold lip shades. She keeps it very neutral, often opting for loose waves and a pink lip. But the one thing she has amped up over the years is her eye makeup. The duchess is partial to some bolder eyeliner and loves a signature smoky shadow to define her eyes for a special occasion.

For her own wedding she chose a combination of her favorite go-to options, wearing her hair in a loose half up, half down style and for the makeup, she went heavy on the eye makeup and kept it very light and pink toned for the cheeks and lips. Michelle Obama Weighs in on the #MeToo Movement and Why There’s More Work to Do

In celebration of International Day of the Girl, Michelle Obama made an appearance on Thursday morning's live broadcast of Today, where she launched the Obama Foundation's Global Girls Alliance. During her sit-down with hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, the former first lady answered questions about the current political climate before weighing in on the #MeToo movement with a thoughtful response about the importance of fighting for change.

"I'm surprised at how much has changed but how much has not changed," she said. "Enough is enough. The world is a, sadly, dangerous place for women and girls, and we see that again and again. I think young women are tired of it. They're tired of being undervalued, they're tired of being disregarded, they're tired of their voices not being invested in and heard."

When asked by Kotb about resistance to the movement, Obama said, "That's what happens with change." She continued, "Change is not a direct, smooth path . . . There's going to be a little upheaval. There's going to be a little discomfort, but I think it's up to the women out there to say, 'Sorry that you feel uncomfortable, but I'm now paving the way for the next generation.'"

The Global Girls Alliance is a project created to help empower adolescent girls worldwide through education. The alliance will support over 1,500 grassroots organizations by using social fundraising platforms, such as Go Fund Me, to help them raise money.

9 Things You Shouldn't Tell Your Friends About Your Marriage

While our friends are often our biggest supporters and "chosen family," there are a few things you should avoid telling them about your marriage. Why? Well, in some cases it would just violate your spouse's privacy, and in other cases, it could taint how people view the marriage . . . which can be detrimental in the long run. In certain situations, it may be advisable to only tell certain friends "certain things" and vice versa. No matter what, be careful when you share information about your marriage - lest it be held against either of you down the line.

Would I make the trek again? Yes! Machu Picchu is an incredible place to discover in person, not to mention it is one of the new seven wonders of the world. But would I change a few things before making the trek again? Absolutely.

If trekking along the 26-mile Inca Trail is in your future or if the thought has ever crept into your mind, make sure you take into consideration the valuable eight lessons I learned from my experience.

12 Royally Delightful Moments Between Princess Eugenie and Her "Granny," Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth II may be the ruler of England, but it's clear that her family always comes first and foremost. The queen has a total of eight grandchildren; however, we especially love seeing her bond with Princess Eugenie. The two are frequently seen together at royal events, and Eugenie often refers to her as "Granny." In fact, when Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's youngest daughter got engaged to wine merchant Jack Brooksbank this past January, Elizabeth was one of the first people to find out. "Granny actually knew right at the very beginning; she was one of the few people who knew," Eugenie previously told BBC's The One Show. "She was very happy, as was my grandfather." Aw!

Jack Brooksbank Will Not Wear a Wedding Ring, and Here's Why It's Actually Not a Big Deal

We're just hours away from Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's big day! As much as we're excited for another royal wedding, one thing you shouldn't expect to see during the ceremony is an exchanging of rings. According to People, the wine merchant has chosen not to wear a wedding ring; however, Jack will be placing a band on Eugenie's finger.

It's actually pretty common for men in the British royal family to opt out of wearing a wedding ring. Even though Prince Harry has one, Prince William decided not to wear one as he "isn't one for jewelry," following in Prince Philip's footsteps. Similarly, Prince Charles never wore a ring when he was married to Princess Diana, though he now wears a signet ring on his pinkie finger. Keep reading to see some of Eugenie and Jack's cutest moments ahead of their royal wedding!

Jason Bateman and Laura Linney Will Bring Back the Byrdes For Ozark Season 3

Netflix is returning to the Ozarks for another round. On Wednesday, the streaming service announced the 10-episode season three renewal of its twisted family drama, Ozark. The series features Jason Bateman and Laura Linney - perfectly cast, and darker than we've ever seen them - as financial planner Marty Byrde and his wife Wendy, who abruptly relocate their family to Missouri's Ozarks after a money-laundering scheme goes awry.

Season two of Ozark focuses on the Byrde family's continued descent into the dark world of crime as they attempt to navigate life within a dangerous drug cartel. Marty and Wendy struggle to keep their family life intact while handling the escalating stakes that involve their partnerships with the cartel. An official premiere date and plot details for season three are still scarce, but considering season two premiered in August, it's safe to assume we'll get the next batch of episodes around that time in 2019.

In the meantime, check out what other TV shows have been renewed so far this year!
