Why Disneyland's Haunted Mansion Is Better With The Nightmare Before Christmas Theme
Halloween has officially arrived at Disneyland, and one of the best parts about the park at this time of year is the major transformation of the Haunted Mansion ride into its Nightmare Before Christmas theme. This may be a controversial opinion, but, personally, I love how festive and fun the Haunted Mansion becomes for the Halloween and holiday season, much more than when it's just a standard spooky ride.
It's vibrantly and creatively decorated (seriously, Disney doesn't miss a single detail), puts you in a happy Halloween and holiday mood, and has you humming the catchy songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas for the rest of the day. How could you choose the classic over that? Once you've been on Haunted Mansion holiday, the original ride just feels . . . boring. To prove my point, here are the best things about the themed version!

This Wine Gives Details of Criminals' Pasts on the Bottles, and Yep, It's Perfect For Halloween
If you're like me and can't get enough of shows like I Am a Killer, Mindhunter, and Making a Murderer, then you know that watching true crime documentaries is a lifestyle we obsess over way past Halloween. Thankfully, 19 Crimes, an American wine company, has a line of reds and whites that's perfect for your scary movie marathon. And as the name suggests, there really are criminals on the bottles.
While sipping a glass of Chardonnay, wine-lovers can get a short backstory on just exactly how a criminal from the 1700s was sentenced to live out the rest of his or her days in Australia. And to be clear, Australia wasn't a haven for surfers, tourists, and wild animal wranglers back in the day. It was a prison colony, a place you got sent if you were particularly ill-behaved.
In fact, the brand provides plenty of history on its site, confirming that this delicious wine is right up my crime-loving alley.
"Nineteen crimes turned criminals into colonists. Upon conviction, British rogues guilty of at least one of the 19 crimes were sentenced to live in Australia, rather than death," the site explains. "This punishment by 'transportation' began in 1783 and many of the lawless died at sea. For the rough-hewn prisoners who made it to shore, a new world awaited. As pioneers in a frontier penal colony, they forged a new country and new lives, brick by brick. This wine celebrates the rules they broke and the culture they built."
Very interesting, indeed. So what are the 19 crimes, you might be wondering? Convicts were shipped off to Australia for many things, from "assaulting, cutting, or burning clothes" to "counterfeiting the copper coin" and committing full-on robbery. Scroll through to get a peek at all the 19 Crimes bottles, and try not to buy every single one.

Meghan Markle Confided in This Person About Her Pregnancy Before Telling the Royal Family
Meghan Markle is going to be a mom! On Monday, Kensington Palace announced that the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry are expecting their first child. The couple reportedly shared the exciting news with the royal family during Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding last Friday, but it seems Meghan's BFF Jessica Mulroney actually knew months ago. According to Us Weekly, Meghan confided in Jessica when she visited her in Toronto this past August.
Meghan and Jessica have been friends ever since the former Suits actress moved from LA to Toronto to film the USA series. Not only did Jessica serve as a bridesmaid at her wedding, but Jessica also styles Meghan for royal events every now and then. Meghan and Harry recently touched down in Australia for their royal tour, and Jessica and her husband, Ben Mulroney, will reportedly be joining them on some of their stops. What else are best friends for, right?
23 Times Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Made Us Cry Happy Tears This Year
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are the couple of the year. OK, OK, maybe we shouldn't make it a competition, because there are a lot of amazing celebrity couples out there. But, come on, Meghan and Harry are just - gaaahhh. They've shared so many adorable moments this year alone, including their extravagant wedding, their first visit to Sussex, and, more recently, the first stop on their royal tour of Australia. That's why when news broke that the royal duo will be expecting their first child in Spring 2019, the internet went into a tailspin of congratulatory praise and excitement.
Meghan and Harry have been gracious enough to take us along their journey as a couple, and the best part is, this is all just the beginning. We're looking forward to seeing more adorable moments and shared milestones between them, but for now, we need to just appreciate some of the most heartwarming times that Meghan and Harry made us say "Awww" over their relationship this year.
In Case You Were Wondering, Here's How Long It's Been Since Harry and Meghan's Big Day
With the announcement that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are going to welcome their first baby next year, we're feeling nostalgic about Harry and Meghan's bona fide fairy tale of a relationship. It feels like they've been around forever, even though it's only been a few years. If you're trying to remember when exactly they tied the knot, we've got your answer - plus some other memorable milestones in their relationship!
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed on May 19, 2018, at St. George's Chapel (the same venue where Harry's cousin Princess Eugenie just wed Jack Brooksbank). Just prior to their wedding, the queen gave Prince Harry the title of Duke of Sussex, making his new wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
At the time of their wedding in May, Harry and Meghan had been dating for nearly two years. The duo famously met on a blind date that was set up by a mutual friend in the Summer of 2016, and their relationship went public later that year when the royal family had to issue a statement about the harassment Meghan was facing. They dated for over a year, and on Nov. 27, 2017, their engagement was announced. In the six months between their engagement and the wedding, Meghan learned to assimilate into the royal family, learning protocol and even picking up a hint of a British accent, and all the while being ridiculously photogenic and adorable. Here's to many more years for these royals!
This Is the Likeliest Place For the Duchess of Sussex to Give Birth
It's official: there's about to be a new addition to the royal family! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they're expecting their first child next Spring, and everyone has royal baby fever all over again. For the next several months, tons of speculation will be swirling about everything, from the baby's potential name to its titles and even its citizenship status. While some of these have already been answered, one of the big questions yet to be revealed is where Meghan will give birth to her and Prince Harry's child.
For security reasons, obviously, the location of the royal birth is not typically announced in advance. History, however, can help us with a pretty good guess. All of the upcoming baby's first cousins - Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis - were born at St. Mary's Hospital in London. This is also the hospital where Harry himself and his older brother, Prince William, were born. Although it's not an official "royal" hospital or anything like that, St. Mary's seems to have become the venue of choice for recent royal births.
Prince Harry's cousins who have children, such as Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, have not all used St. Mary's but have instead used hospitals closer to their places of residence. St. Mary's is convenient for the royals in residence at Kensington Palace, which includes the Cambridges as well as the Sussexes. Given all of this, it seems that the duchess will most likely check into St. Mary's when her due date arrives next Spring.
This Is Us: Pack It In - We Found the Most Depressing Theory About "Her"
This Is Us has always loved its mysteries and surprising twists. Ever since last season's finale, the big question on everyone's mind has been the identity of "her," someone who Randall and Tess are going to visit in the future, with some complicated emotions. So far, the most likely candidates have been Rebecca, Beth, and Kate, and the latter theory only gained more credence when it was revealed that Toby, too, is involved in "her" storyline and that "she" wants to see him. Reddit user twenty42, however, has a much different idea about how it all might pan out.
Up to this point, we've all been assuming that, whoever "she" is, she's being visited in a hospital under some sort of grave circumstances. This theory, though, looks at another place that family members might be reluctant to visit - namely, a prison. According to this idea, it's Beth and Randall's daughter Annie who is being visited in the flash-forward scenes. It's not entirely implausible. As many people know, addictions can run in families, and two of Annie's biological grandparents (that is, Randall's biological parents) were addicts. This also would explain why Randall and Tess are the ones visiting, as opposed to other family members.
It's also possible, of course, that Annie is one "her" but not the only one. Randall and Tess are visiting a "her," and we hear that a "she" would want to see Toby - but we're jumping to conclusions that they're the same person. This theory expands on that possibility, suggesting that the "her" Randall and Tess are visiting is Annie, but the "her" who would want Toby to be there is Kate, who is leaning on him for support or encouraging him to stay part of their family circle.
In some ways, the out-of-left-field nature of this theory actually helps it rather than hurts it, given how This Is Us tends to lead us down one path to start with and then veers hard right. For instance, the show seemed to be heavily hinting that Jack's death was connected to alcoholism, or, later, that he wasn't going to make it out of their burning house. Instead, it turned out to be something as heartbreakingly mundane as untreated smoke inhalation. By these standards, we should be looking away from the obvious candidates like Kate and Beth and away from the obvious cause, like a health crisis. If that turns out to be true, then this wild theory just might not be so wild after all.
Shawn Mendes Sounds EXACTLY Like Freddie Mercury in This Incredible Queen Cover
Freddie Mercury, is that you?! On Oct. 12, Shawn Mendes released a new cover of "Under Pressure" by Queen. The song is a joint effort with Teddy Geiger, who has collaborated with Mendes on a ton of his songs, including "Stitches," "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back," "Lost in Japan," and "In My Blood." The cover is sensational, featuring vocals from both artists (can we talk about that falsetto?!), but the best part is that it's meant to benefit a good cause: the Mercury Phoenix Trust, which aims to fight against HIV and AIDS. What a perfect way to commemorate the incredible life and career of Freddie Mercury. Check out the song ahead.

Find out who was eliminated ahead, and be sure to check back each week to see who is still in the running for the Mirrorball Trophy.
Ariana Grande Revealed Her Song For NBC's Wicked Special, and We Already Have Chills
NBC's upcoming A Very Wicked Halloween concert special is the stuff of magic. Celebrating the musical's debut 15 years ago, the televised concert will feature former and current cast members - including, of course, the original Elphaba and Glinda: Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth - as well as a few other famous faces, like Ariana Grande and Adam Lambert.
Ahead of A Very Wicked Halloween, Grande shared that she would performing "The Wizard and I," a solo number performed by Elphaba. On Instagram, Grande wrote, "Honored to be included in this celebration of 15 years of my favorite musical of all time. Wouldn't miss it for the whole universe."
The rest of the cast has yet to announced which songs they will be performing; however, it's likely that Chenoweth will delight viewers by performing "Popular," and we're hoping she reunites with Menzel for "Defying Gravity." For now, it seems we'll just have to wait until the concert airs on Monday, Oct. 29.
An Amy Winehouse Biopic Is Officially in the Works, So You Can Start Sobbing Now
Rumors of an Amy Winehouse biopic have swirled for years, with one even going so far as to cast Noomi Rapace as the late singer. None of the prospective projects has ever managed to get off the ground following her 2011 death, though, until now - according to The Guardian, the "Back to Black" singer's family has officially signed a deal for her life story to be adapted for the screen.
Monumental Pictures' Alison Owen - aka mother to singer Lily Allen and Game of Thrones alum Alfie Allen - is teaming up with Debra Hayward to produce the film, while Kinky Boots writer Geoff Deane is set to adapt the major moments in Winehouse's life. Winehouse's family is also on board to act as executive producers, with proceeds from the film going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation to help young people suffering from addiction. Winehouse's father, Mitch, said their family has been approached about biopics numerously in the past but felt "the time was not right."
"We now feel able to celebrate Amy's extraordinary life and talent," he said in a statement. "And we know through the Amy Winehouse Foundation that the true story of her illness can help so many others who might be experiencing similar issues."
Shooting is expected to begin in 2019, so we imagine a casting announcement will be made within the next few months. But if you're hoping A Star Is Born's Lady Gaga will take on the role, we suggest adjusting your expectations - Mitch said Gaga isn't in the running for the part, and they're instead searching for an "unknown, young, English - London, cockney," who can relate to his daughter's background a bit more. "What we want is somebody to portray Amy in the way that she was," he reportedly told The Sun. "The funny, brilliant, charming, and horrible person that she was."
8 Potential Names For Harry and Meghan's Future Royal
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just announced that they're expecting, we imagine that they don't have a name picked out for the new royal just yet, but it's never too early to speculate. This will be the pair's first child, so we can't make any guesses based off the names of former children. However, there's a long tradition of family names being handed down to royal babies, so it's likely that Harry and Meghan's future child will be given a name with some history. Here are just a few of the names we could see for the forthcoming royal baby.

How Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Shared Their Exciting Baby News With the Royal Family
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expanding their family! On Monday, Kensington Palace officially announced that the couple are expecting their first child together, and the royal family could not be more excited! Even though this is the first time we're hearing about the news, the brood actually found out a few days ago at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding. "The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are all delighted by the news," the palace announced.
Harry and Meghan tied the knot this past May, and Meghan has previously said that becoming a mom was on her "bucket list." Hopefully Meghan will finally give us a glimpse at her growing belly as she and Harry tour Australia later this week.
Issa Rae to Star in the New Rom-Com American Princess, Because, Well, She's Royalty
It's Issa Rae's time to shine in Hollywood, and she knows it just as much as we do. The Insecure star is making waves both on screen and off, and now we get to see more of her talents in Fox's upcoming romantic comedy, American Princess.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rae will play an American woman who "moves to London, where she's drawn into a world of wealth and high society and falls in love in a very unexpected way." Stella Meghie is set to direct the film while Bridesmaids' Paul Feig, The Heat's Jessie Henderson, and The House's Brendan O'Brien will produce. The script, which was originally written by O'Brien, is also undergoing a rewrite by Amy Aniobi, who has worked as a writer and co-executive producer on Insecure.
Rae's authentic humor, flair, and developing foothold in the romance and comedy realms of Hollywood make her a great choice for the lead in a rom-com, and we're going to be shaking from anticipation until they announce the release date. Until then, you can catch Rae costarring alongside Amandla Stenberg in The Hate U Give.
We're Crying Over Meghan Markle's Reaction to Receiving Her First Baby Gift - and You Will, Too!
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry only just announced that they're expecting their first child, but they've already received their first baby gift. On Tuesday, the royals kicked off their tour of Australia and they were gifted a kangaroo stuffed toy from Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife, Lady Cosgrove. As the governor-general presented Meghan with the sweet gift, which came complete with a pair of UGG boots, Meghan excitedly said, "Our first baby gift!" Are you crying yet?
Harry and Meghan first got together in May 2016 and tied the knot two years later in a lavish ceremony at Windsor's St. George's Chapel. Both Meghan and Harry have opened up in the past about wanting to start a family, and now it's finally happening! So exciting!
We Just Got Word That Chrissy Teigen Is Working on a Cookbook For Kids - This Is Gonna Be Good!
The world's most relatable and downright real mom-turned-cookbook-author Chrissy Teigen knows what it's really like to live in a crazy house with toddlers - she recently shared a video of an angsty Luna on Instagram - so it makes perfect sense that she'd approach feeding her large household in a very funny, no-fuss manner. So much so that during last weekend's #CRAVINGSFEST, she revealed that she has a cookbook for kids in the works, complete with simple dishes for even the pickiest of palettes.
"I know kids have really simple palates and we all want to make them more refined," she announced on stage during the event. "But they're just kids, so we're gonna do stuff that kids are going to love."
A kids' cookbook seems like the most natural - and brilliant - next step for Chrissy, who's authored two successful cookbooks already, filled to the edges with irresistible recipes. And luckily, she has the perfect assistants to ensure that everything she includes in her forthcoming book is a fan-favorite. "Hopefully it's Luna-approved," she said of her new endeavor. Based on what we know about Miss Luna, she's going to challenge her mom to make every dish a perfect one.
Kristen Bell Is Worried Disney Princesses Are Teaching Her Kids Bad Lessons, and She Has a Point
Although Kristen Bell absolutely loves reading to her kids before bed, she admits she's sometimes skeptical about the "lessons" her girls - 3-year-old Delta and 5-year-old Lincoln - are learning from Disney princesses.
"[Story time is] truly my favorite part of the day," Kristen told Parents. "I glance away from the book and see their brains working while we're all cuddled up like meerkats."
The 38-year-old actress says that despite playing Anna in Frozen, she has reservations about some of the messages in the older princess stories.
"Every time we close Snow White I look at my girls and ask, 'Don't you think it's weird that Snow White didn't ask the old witch why she needed to eat the apple? Or where she got that apple?' I say, 'I would never take food from a stranger, would you?' And my kids are like, 'No!' And I'm like, 'Okay, I'm doing something right.'"
Kristen also makes an important point about consent, as Snow White never gives the prince the go-ahead to actually kiss her. She makes sure she brings up the issue to her two girls as they're reading.
"Don't you think that it's weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission?" Kristen said she asks her girls. "Because you can not kiss someone if they're sleeping!"
And yes, now we're definitely thinking twice about the books we pick to read to our children before they hit the hay.
A Pediatrician Just Debunked All the Myths About Getting Kids Their Flu Shots
After a national survey found that some parents were skeptical about getting their children the flu shot, Dr. Jean Moorjani, a board-certified pediatrician at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital in Florida, wanted to go the extra mile to put moms and dads' anxieties at ease.
According to the survey results, some parents believe that their kids can actually come down with the flu just from getting the shot. And what's even more concerning, 30 percent of parents believe that vaccines are a conspiracy, and 28 percent of parents believe the flu vaccine can cause autism.
"The flu vaccine is the best protection against the flu."
Parents who aren't planning on getting their children the flu shot should definitely reconsider. Last year, 180 children died from the flu, 80 percent of which didn't receive the shot.
"The flu vaccine is the best protection against the flu," said Dr. Moorjani. "And of the children who died from the flu last year, about half of them were perfectly healthy children. Since we cannot predict who will develop a serious complication from the flu, we recommended that all children over the age of 6-months-old receive the flu vaccine for the best protection."
Read through to see Dr. Moorjani's reasoning behind why every healthy person in your family should get the flu shot. And don't forget to make a doctor's appointment for your children ASAP.

What Will Meghan and Harry Name Their Royal Baby? Here Are Our Guesses
New royal baby, new name predictions! The palace announced on Oct. 15 that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first child, who is likely due in mid to late April 2019. The couple, who married in May, revealed shortly after that they wanted to have children right away (despite the fact that the only way for their children to receive a "prince" or "princess" title would be for Prince Charles to assume the throne before Meghan gives birth).
Although this baby likely won't be a prince or princess who inherits the throne, there are some benefits to Meghan and Harry having a child so soon - they can name him or her pretty much whatever they like. However, that's not to say there aren't quite a few names that were front runners for Kate and William likely still in the running for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Here are some of those names, as well as our best guesses for possible girls' and boys' names for Meghan and Harry's first royal babe.
Boys
- Alexander (the current two-to-one favorite)
- Arthur (a former favorite for Kate and William)
- Charles (Harry's middle name and his father's name)
- Henry (Harry's first given name)
- James (the current 50-to-one favorite)
- Nicholas (the current 10-to-one favorite)
- Spencer (Princess Diana's maiden name)

- Alice (a former favorite for Kate and William)
- Diana (Harry's late mother's name)
- Doria (Meghan's mother's name)
- Eleanor (the current 12-to-one favorite)
- Elizabeth (after the queen, the baby's great-grandmother)
- Rachel (Meghan's first given name)
- Victoria (the current four-to-one favorite)

Newly Pregnant Meghan Markle Inquired About the Zika Virus Before Traveling With Prince Harry
There's another royal baby on the way! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced that they are expecting their first child together right as they embarked on a 16-day tour of Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and Tonga. But like many pregnant women, or women trying to get pregnant, Meghan reportedly did thorough research about the safety of traveling during the early stages of her pregnancy. According to People, "the royal couple has reportedly sought medical advice about the [Zika] virus, which can cause serious birth defects, including microcephaly."
While Zika has been detected in both Fiji and the Kingdom of Tonga (which currently has a level two alert), experts have issued plenty of ways for pregnant women to prevent being infected. "The advice would be to wear a repellent which contains an active ingredient and wear that repellent all day and all evening," the Head of the Department of Disease Control at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine told People. "You have to put the repellent on like a hand cream. You have to really rub it in. If you squirt it on like a perfume, that won't do anything because the mosquito will find a bit that's not covered. A spray or a lotion is fine but really rub it in and reapply it often. There are four active ingredients, one of the main ones is DEET and it's safe to use that during pregnancy." He also suggested wearing baggy clothes, long sleeves, and light-colored clothing.
According to a Royal Correspondent for the Daily Mail, the couple has not made any changes to their travel schedule, and though Meghan may choose to sit out some previously scheduled activities, they will be enjoying this 16-day tour together as planned.
A spokesman said there is no change to their programme in Fiji and Tonga next week despite FCO advice that pregnant women should not travel to the region because of its moderate zika risk.
They said they had sought medical and advice and decided to go ahead with their plans.- Rebecca English (@RE_DailyMail) October 15, 2018

Hilary Duff Just Ate a Salad Famous For Inducing Labor, So Let's See What Happens, Folks
Hilary Duff is ready to meet her baby girl. The Younger actress, who is expecting her second child - her first with boyfriend Matthew Koma - any day now has turned to a pizza place with a famous labor-inducing salad to get the ball rolling. "This salad is supposed to make you go into labor," Hilary wrote in an Instagram Story. "Caioti Pizza, don't let me down."
There are several ways to attempt to induce labor, like dancing, having sex, or eating a whole pineapple, but this magical salad is definitely a little more niche. From Caioti Pizza Café in LA, "The Salad" is a mix of tossed romaine and watercress with walnuts and gorgonzola, but the moneymaker is allegedly the restaurant's balsamic vinegarette dressing, which is the element said to get contractions going.
"We've never claimed that 'The Salad' actually induces labor," Cindy LaDou, owner of Caioti Pizza Café, told LA Weekly. "But, as my husband used to say . . . it helps."
Here's hoping it helps Hilary - we can't wait to meet this little babe!

The Best Beauty Looks From Every A Star Is Born Film
The latest iteration of A Star Is Born, starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, is getting a ton of attention for the pair's outstanding performances. But if you haven't seen the original instalments, it's time to see how the female lead has evolved throughout the four movies.
During the original 1937 installment starring Janet Gaynor, Esther personifies Hollywood glamour. The next version in 1954 stars Judy Garland with some high, skinny brows that would make '90s Kate Moss jealous. Barbra Streisand took the reins in 1976 and wore big curls and sparkly eye shadow, while 2018's Lady Gaga switched up her hair colour, as well as the character's name - now Ally.
See the looks ahead.
This Is What Every Single Attachment in the Dyson Airwrap Complete Does to Your Hair
If you're deep inside a research hole trying to figure out if the new Dyson Airwrap Complete is worth its hefty $550 price tag, crawl out, because I'm about to show you exactly what each of the styling attachments that come in the kit did to my fine, straight hair.
Before I go there, let's dive a bit into the science behind the new all-in-one tool, which promises to give you "voluminous curls, natural waves and smooth blow-dry finishes at home." A motor inside the Dyson Airwrap's wand (the same one used in Dyson's Supersonic hair dryer) creates a high-speed stream of hot air that is then distributed through small openings in each of the attachments in what Dyson calls the Coanda effect. This air dries hair as it styles it, minimizing heat damage from using several tools. The Airwrap even self-checks its temperature up to 40 times a second, according to the brand, to make sure it doesn't get too hot.
Pretty cool, but does it work? Yes. Read ahead to see exactly what it does and how it does it.
Deciem Stores to Reopen as Founder Is Ousted
After a week of uncertainty, Deciem stores will reopen and Brandon Truaxe will be stepping down from his co-chief executive role. The company, best known for its skincare line The Ordinary, had been experiencing trouble after Truaxe announced via a now-removed Instagram that the stores would be temporarily shut down and accused the company of criminal activity.
Minority investor Estée Lauder asked a judge to have Truaxe removed from the Deciem board of directors and replaced by co-CEO Nicola Kilner in the interim. Ontario Superior Court Judge Michael Penny sided with the cosmetic giant, barring the former CEO from posting to Instagram on behalf of the brand, something he frequently did. He also granted Estée Lauder's request for PWC to investigate Truaxe's allegations.
Truaxe took over the brand's social media in January and has since used it to post complicated and confusing messages to customers, as well as to fire employees and sever business ties.
According to WWD, the Deciem website is back up and running, and stores are expected to reopen soon.
