On Keto and Seriously Craving Chick-fil-A? Try 1 of These Low-Carb Picks

There are fans of Chick-fil-A, and then there are superfans, and wherever you fall on the scale, we can't really blame you - from the shakes, to the fries, to the perfectly crispy chicken, Chick-fil-A is undoubtedly crave-worthy.

If you're on the keto diet, though, you might be wondering what in the heck you can even order from your favorite fast food stop. And it's a tough one. You'll have to steer clear of any buns, biscuits, waffle fries (we know, we're sorry), and most of the sauces and dressings, but you'd be surprised by the number of low-carb options still available to you. We've rounded up five keto-friendly picks for your next Chick-fil-A run that will make it simple to stick to your plan.

  • Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Biscuit, hold the biscuit: In need of a quick breakfast? If you order the Sausage, Egg, & Cheese biscuit without the biscuit, you'll get a bowl with scrambled eggs, sausage, and American cheese. It's definitely not a handheld breakfast, so make sure you request a fork.
  • Hash Brown Scramble Bowl, hold the hash browns: If you can't visit Chick-fil-A without ordering chicken (even for breakfast), go for the Hash Brown Scramble Bowl without the potatoes. The nuggets are surprisingly light on carbs, and you'll also get scrambled eggs, shredded cheese, and a spicy jalapeño salsa.
  • Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich, hold the bun: For lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong with a naked Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich. You can wrap the grilled chicken breast, tomatoes, cheese, and bacon up in the lettuce leaves or just dig into the whole thing with a fork.
  • Spicy Southwest Salad, hold the corn, beans, and tortilla strips: This one requires a little customization, but if you're craving a big ol' salad, go for the Spicy Southwest. You'll want to request that they leave off the corn, black beans, and tortilla strips, and you can also omit the tomatoes if you're close to reaching your carb limit for the day. For dressing, try the Garlic & Herb Ranch Dressing or the Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing; most of the others are too high in sugar.
  • Grilled Chicken Nuggets, straight up: If you want to keep it simple, order the Grilled Chicken Nuggets. No, you can't dip them in that tasty Chick-fil-A sauce, but you can sample the Zesty Buffalo Sauce or the Garlic Herb & Ranch. Twelve nuggets have only three grams of carbs but also a measly 210 calories, so make sure you bring along a snack or two for later.

This Is How Long It'll Take For Intermittent Fasting to Work

When it comes to getting healthier and toning up your body, one of the most popular of the countless options out there right now is intermittent fasting (or IF, for short). IF includes several different approaches to choose from, but most involve eating for only a short period of time during the day and/or limiting the amount of calories you consume. The results are apparent to those who've tried the method, but according to the experts, you need at least 10 weeks of following a few basic rules to see any changes.

Read on for more details about how best to make IF work for you, including whether the time of day you're eating has an impact on your waistline and what other benefits you can expect from the method, aside from a lower number on the scale.

The Worst Time of Day to Eat Carbs May Seriously Shock You

Whether you're following a low-carb diet or not, you probably find yourself occasionally craving starchy or sugary foods. While these foods are totally OK in moderation, you may be wondering if there's ever a bad time to indulge in carbs, especially since they sometimes leave you feeling sluggish. As it turns out, there is a worst time to eat refined carbs - and the answer just may surprise you.

According to Shauna Sacco, a registered dietitian and certified personal trainer in Houston, treating yourself to refined carbs such as white bread and pastries should not be done during breakfast. "The most important time to eat a balanced meal is at breakfast so you fuel up for the day and maintain steady blood sugar," Sacco said. "It can be hard to find good breakfast options because we're often on the go or indulging in sweeter options like pancakes." So if you think eating it first thing is good because you have all day to burn it off, it actually may only hurt you in the end by not properly energizing your body for the day ahead.

According to Sacco, there's actually never a good time to eat a meal loaded with sugars and refined carbohydrates. Without the balance of protein and good carbs like fruits and vegetables, your blood sugar will spike and then crash, leaving you hungry and lacking energy again.

Sacco recommends focusing on wholesome sources of protein combined with good carbs at breakfast. Some options include hard-boiled eggs or a handful of nuts for something quick and portable; adding almond butter to oatmeal, or eating an apple with peanut butter. Whole-wheat toast with bacon and tomato slices is actually another great breakfast option, Sacco said. "If you're going to indulge in a carb-heavy meal, it's better to do it at the end of the day, before you sleep, to avoid blood sugar crashes and cravings," she said.

I Meal Prepped Every Meal For 5 Days - These Recipes Made It Super Easy

In college, meal prepping every Sunday night was a huge part of my healthy routine. It saved me not only time but also money. All I had to do on a weekday was go home, and a nutritious meal would be waiting for me.

If you're looking to live a healthy lifestyle, meal prepping can be a huge step in the right direction. A few minutes cooking meals for the week on a Sunday night might be your savior when you feel tempted to turn to processed and fattening foods. To make things easy for you, I've gathered my favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipes to prep for the five-day workweek.

Front Row in a Sports Bra: How I Accomplished My SoulCycle Resolution

Confession: I am a SoulCycle addict. I love everything about it. I love the dim lights, the thumping club music, and the instructors who look like sweaty Greek gods. But more than that, I love that it made me reexamine working out. It taught me that working out wasn't a chore, but a pleasure and a privilege - a 45-minute brain break from my busy, hectic life, a time for me and me alone.

People spoof the boutique fitness class all the time, but I would argue don't knock it until you try it. (Hey, even celebrities are obsessed!) I go once or twice a week as a treat, and I think it not only keeps me fit but also sane. There is a great sense of community and a complete lack of judgment.

That's why when I sat down to write my intentions for 2018, I wanted to include my favorite workout. Though I go all the time, riding in the front row at SoulCycle has always seemed like such a daunting feat. Front-row riders are the best of the best, and the instructor relies on them to keep the rhythm and tone. Riders in rows further back will follow the front row, so they are literally the leaders. Moreover, front row means the instructor has eyes on you. Of course, they don't put any pressure on the riders, but it's impossible not to want to do a good job when your favorite instructor is watching.

In a place where I feel so supported and loved, why was I fearing being judged?

So riding front row was the first part of my resolution. The second part of my resolution came to me while I was going to class with a friend. I looked at some fit women walking through the studio, wearing just leggings and a sports bra. I sighed to my friend and wistfully mentioned I wish I could just wear a sports bra. Her reply surprised me: "Um, actually anyone can. There isn't a body requirement - you just have to feel comfortable!" Of course, my friend was right. In a place where I feel so supported and loved, why was I fearing being judged? I knew I had to prove to myself that I, too, could be confident enough about my body to bear all, so I decided the second part of my resolution would be to ride wearing just a sports bra.

In preparation for riding front row wearing just a sports bra, I spoke to Paula Markey, one of my favorite instructors and all-around dream girl. Paula reminded me that SoulCycle isn't about what's on the outside. It's part of being healthy and happy and having a well-balanced, mindful life. "Working at Soul has made me realize it's not about how you look, but it's all about how you feel," she told me. "I eat healthy because my body needs proper fuel, but I also eat cheese and love wine." (See, I told you, total dream girl!) "I don't own a scale because I know I work hard six days week," she said. "Once you feel good, that energy exudes out of you and you end up looking good."

I was so nervous, but when I pulled off my hoodie, there were no gasps or stares.

I knew Paula was right. SoulCycle has always been more about feeling my best than looking my best, and fulfilling my resolution would be the ultimate testament to that. I finally picked a day to fulfill my resolution - of course, going to one of my favorite instructors and bringing along some friends with me. I was so nervous, but when I pulled off my hoodie, there were no gasps or stares. It was a great reality check when no one in the studio batted an eyelash that I was wearing a sports bra despite not having abs!

The truth is, I loved riding front row. It was a total rush. And despite all my worrying, I kept up with the music and stayed on beat. But it didn't matter. SoulCycle isn't about showing off or looking incredible, it's about feeling great and doing something that makes you feel better. The room is dark because it really doesn't matter what anyone looks like; no one cares if you're wearing a sports bra or a onesie, because they're just happy you're there.

Resolutions should be about making yourself feel better - more confident, happy, and comfortable with yourself - and that's exactly what mine did! Though I won't be riding in the front row every week, it's great to know that I can if I want to. I'm excited to challenge myself this year - inside the Soul studio and beyond.

Bob Harper Shares "One of the Best Weight-Loss Tips in the World," and It's Totally Doable

Bob Harper knows a thing or two about health. As a trainer and then host of The Biggest Loser, he's helped dozens of people transform their bodies and their lives. And after suffering a heart attack last year, the fitness expert has worked on overhauling his own lifestyle, losing 40 pounds in the process.

So while Bob eats a clean, mostly plant-based diet and works out regularly, he also has a weight-loss tip that he calls "one of the best in the world." The best part? It's so easy, you can start doing it right now.

"Water intake is, I believe, one of the best weight-loss tips that you can do," Bob said in an Instagram video as part of a series he calls #TwoCupsIn. He added that if you're feeling hungry, you should drink water first. In the Instagram caption, Bob said he drinks at least a gallon of water every day and it has helped him stay energized and "regular."

Just be careful if you are exercising and sweating regularly; you will lose electrolytes in the process, so be sure to replenish with, in addition to water, some electrolytes, such as with an electrolyte-infused water or electrolyte tablets (we like Nuun Hydration Drink Tablets ($18)). There is such a thing as drinking too much water, so while a gallon (128 ounces) a day is a good amount to aim for, try not to drink too much more than that.

Shooting for about 100 ounces (12.5 cups) a day is a great place to start - if your urine is nearly clear, that means you are properly hydrated and don't need much more than that. Filling up on water instead of sugary or artificial-sweetener-laced beverages will help you feel full, keep your body hydrated, and ultimately help you lose weight.

Bonafide Provisions's Bone Broth Soup Is Insanely Delicious, and It Has 19 Grams of Protein

I'm going to be completely honest with you all: I'd never had bone broth until a few days ago. I know what you're probably thinking: "You call yourself a fitness editor and you'd never had bone broth?" Nope, I hadn't. When it comes to my diet, I like to keep it simple and stick with what I know and, more importantly, what I can cook.

Over the years, I've heard my friends and health fanatics rave about the benefits of bone broth. Even my fairy godmother Halle Berry swears by it. So when Bonafide Provisions reached out about its latest bone broth and soup combinations, I figured I should give them a shot, especially because it didn't require hours of making my own broth.

Because I haven't properly gone grocery shopping in weeks, I decided to try the Organic Chicken Vegetable Soup ($8) for lunch this past weekend. Let me tell you, it was delicious. I was expecting the soup to have a strange aftertaste, and I was wrong. For those wondering about the nutritional values, the chicken soup is 140 calories and has 19 grams of protein and five grams of fat.

If chicken soup isn't your jam, there's also butternut squash, broccoli cheddar, roasted tomato basil, creamy mushroom, and french onion flavors. Most of the soups are well under 300 calories, with the amount of protein per serving ranging from seven to 19 grams.

I don't want to come off as demanding, but I definitely think you should try these soups if you're into bone broth or you just want something quick to make.

I Took a Wheatgrass Shot Every Day For 1 Week, and These Were the Results

Praised by many as a superfood, wheatgrass is made from the freshly sprouted leaves of the wheat plant. I've seen signage at juice shops across the country touting the myriad benefits - it detoxes your body, supports your immune system, makes your skin and hair glow, etc.

I've been a sporadic drinker of this dense green juice for years, mostly after one too many margaritas the night before or an excess of fatty foods. I know the health gurus claim that you need a shot a day to really get the full benefit, but I'll be totally real - the taste is anything but pleasant. As its name suggests, wheatgrass tastes like, well, grass. So since it's hard to stomach the flavor, I usually just keep it to when I'm feeling particularly fuzzy or lethargic (OK, OK . . . or hungover).

Related: I Dedicated a Whole Weekend to Self-Care, and Damn, It Felt Good

But after months of reading how this leafy tonic is basically a miracle in a shot glass (drinking an ounce of this stuff is apparently like eating two-and-a-half pounds of vegetables), I decided to go all in on the grass and take a one-ounce shot of it every morning for seven days. I only drank it freshly made on the spot, and the guy at my local juice shop recommended drinking the elixir on an empty stomach to avoid nausea and swishing it around in my mouth before swallowing. Although not thrilled with the idea of experiencing the taste any longer than I needed to, I obliged.

What Happened?

It helped with digestion. I've always been envious of the people who go to the bathroom at the same time every morning like clockwork. For me, it's always been a guessing game, and body stressors like traveling or certain foods can throw me off even more. But I discovered that as early as the second day, the wheatgrass helped with my digestive issues. I wasn't experiencing any bloating (even after having an entire cheese plate for dinner one night) and was going to the bathroom regularly every day (hallelujah!).

I needed less caffeine. When it comes to coffee, I'm typically a two-cups-a-day kind of girl - sometimes three if I've had a late night. My morning shot actually gave me a steady stream of energy throughout the day, and I found myself drinking less caffeine as the week went on. By day seven, my morning routine had transitioned into wheatgrass and green tea rather than my usual breakfast of 24 ounces of dark roast.

Related: I Traded My Afternoon Banana For a Protein Shake and Wasn't Expecting This to Happen

My gums felt plumper. This was a side effect I was not expecting, but by week's end, my gums actually felt fuller and healthier. Maybe my juicer was onto something when he instructed me to swish the shot around in my mouth first. (I was partly convinced he was playing a sick practical joke.)

Although I enjoyed the way my body felt, I never got used to the taste. While bottled brands will sometimes dilute the drink with lemon or ginger, when it's fresh from the juicer, there isn't anything to cut the bitterness. I finished with a pineapple chaser each day but couldn't quite shake the anticipation of the grassy taste.

Will I Keep Going?

Absolutely. If my body experienced these types of results after only one week, I can only imagine how I will feel six months from now. Keeping up with one shot a day might be tough, but I can certainly commit to three or four times a week. I love the idea of weaning my body off caffeine and getting energy from a healthier, less addictive source. Although it won't replace a healthy diet, it's also comforting to know I'm getting a solid dose of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in one swallow.

I just hope eventually the flavor will grow on me.

Meghan Markle Found a Work Dress She Could Wear to the Beach, So She's Officially Our Hero

How does a royal on an official tour of Australia switch up her wardrobe for a visit to the beach? There's no swimsuit involved. After Meghan Markle spent the day in Melbourne's Botanic Gardens with Prince Harry, sporting a navy asymmetrical sheath from Dion Lee - accessorized with a very important pasta necklace and Manolo Blahnik heels, we might add - she headed to the South Melbourne Beach. She traded her Dion Lee number for this Club Monaco A-line silhouette ($268) with a more streamlined fit and a shorter hemline.

The piece is trimmed in gold buttons, which peeked out from Meghan's Martin Grant trench coat as the wind blew, and contributed to her glow. Who needs sandals? Meghan repeated her trusted Rothy's flats, which helped her navigate a clear path on the sand. Read through for an all-angles glimpse of her outfit, complete with a Shaun Leane diamond bangle ($1,211), then shop her Club Monaco hero dress, along with similar options.

Exactly What You Can Buy From All of Meghan Markle's Royal Tour Looks

If every time Meghan Markle steps out on tour (and everywhere else, for that matter), you're thinking, "I want everything she's wearing," you're not alone. That's the "Meghan Markle effect" at work, and it seems none of us are immune to her fashion influence. Between key new pieces - that Gucci bag, for starters - and classic staples like Meghan's perfect trench coat, she's mastered a cool-meets-understated elegance that's royal and accessible all at once. So, yeah, can you fault us if we want all the same pieces?

Read on to see and shop essentials from the duchess's Australian tour.

See Ya, Shoes! Meghan Markle Is a Barefoot Babe on the Beach in This Striped Maxi Dress

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hit the beach in Sydney on day four of their tour in Australia. Meghan wore a flowy, striped dress from Martin Grant's 2019 Resort collection for the outdoor occasion, and she made a case for marrying comfort and style seaside. The royal couple hung out at Bondi Beach to meet with the founders and members of OneWave, a local surfing community group that raises awareness for mental health.

Meghan's comfortable-looking dress went perfectly with her espadrilles, and she got even more comfortable by slipping them off and letting her feet hit the sand. Duchesses - they're just like us! Keep reading to see more photos of Meghan's gorgeous dress, plus her and Harry oozing with love as usual. Then, catch up on everything mom-to-be Meghan has worn on tour so far.

This Fall Staple Has Been Around For So Long, You Probably Forgot How to Wear It

We're sure that, at one point, you owned a sweater dress you wore to death, perhaps styled with knee-high boots or tights. Blake Lively's Gossip Girl character Serena van der Woodsen provided more than enough inspiration a few years back, after all. But the one-and-done outfit happens to look a little different these days, with midi length versions being introduced in electrifying shades, and ladies on the street coming up with impeccable style rules - i.e. "must layer with shirting underneath." The sweater dress is being reintroduced into our wardrobes as a trend this season, which means there are cozy, oversize silhouettes abound for you to shop. That is, right after you take our advice for how to wear them.

Meghan Markle's Latest Bag Choice Is a Reminder That She'll Always Be a Fashion Girl

When Meghan Markle stepped out on the third day of her royal Australian tour, she wore a beautiful sleeveless dress by Australian designer Dion Lee. Paired with matching Manolo Blahnik BB pumps, a Shaun Leane cuff, and her trusty Martin Grant trench coat, it was incredibly elegant and perfectly suited to the occasion.

But, of course, it wouldn't be a Meghan outfit without the perfect bag - and this time around, the Duchess of Sussex opted for a Gucci clutch. While it looked sophisticated enough to be worn on a royal engagement, it was also a stylish reminder that Meghan, duchess or not, will always be a fashion girl at heart.

Meet Maxima, the Royal Style Queen About to Make a Very Big Impression

When it comes to modern royal fashion icons, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands doesn't get nearly as many mentions as our favorite British duchesses, Kate and Meghan, but this consort is a style force to be reckoned with. And pretty soon, Maxima's standout choices will get plenty of global attention as she arrives in London for a State Visit. Her knockout wardrobe will undoubtedly make front pages everywhere.

Since marrying into the Dutch Royal Family back in 2002, Maxima Zorreguieta has created her very own sense of royal style. Whether it's daily royal engagements or glittering gala events, this is one consort who knows just what she likes. And we all love it, too.

Maxima rarely puts a fashion foot wrong. Whether it's high profile hats or regal takes on the latest trends, the Queen of the Netherlands always lands a knockout style punch. And let's not even start on the jewels - she may not have started life as a royal, but Maxima was born to wear a tiara.

With the Dutch State Visit to the UK starting on Oct. 23, get your royal style homework done now, and revel in some of Queen Maxima's many style triumphs.

Emily Ratajkowski's Dress Dips So Low in the Back, She Had to Style It With Pants

At first glance, Emily Ratajkowski's outfit was interesting, to say the least. The supermodel, who's used to showing off plenty of skin, wore an asymmetrical Monse dress that featured rope detailing at the Moët x Virgil launch party. While her nautical-inspired dress was already an interesting choice, it was how she styled it that made us look twice.

Emily went braless in the backless dress and paired it with tailored white trousers from Marina Moscone that were cuffed at the bottom. She accessorized with black strappy sandals and a mini square bag. Read on to see all angles of her outfit, and shop similar versions of it if you want to give the look a try ahead.

Meghan Markle Is Reportedly Saving This Very Special Jewelry For Her Daughter, and We're Tearing Up

Meghan Markle announced that she's pregnant with her first child with Prince Harry. While the couple hasn't announced whether they are expecting a boy or a girl next Spring, it turns out that the Duchess of Sussex already has an heirloom waiting, and we're tearing up. Back in 2015, Meghan reportedly revealed to Hello! that she's been saving a piece of jewelry for her future daughter.

"I've always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch. When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season - which, at the time, felt like such a milestone - I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version." She also revealed that the watch has a sweet message "To M.M. From M.M." engraved on the back. "I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That's what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them," she told the magazine.

Another fun fact? Prince Harry's mother, Princess Diana, also owned a Tank watch. If you're interested in buying a similar two-tone watch as Meghan's, prepare to shell out upwards of $9,100. Read on to get a closer look at the stunning piece and see pictures of Meghan wearing the watch ahead.

American Horror Story's Sarah Paulson and Lady Gaga Reunited, and the Photos Are So Damn Pure

Lady Gaga was a little too busy to appear in the latest season of American Horror Story, Apocalypse, but that doesn't mean she's lost touch with her former costars.

While attending Elle's 25th Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration in Beverly Hills on Monday, the A Star Is Born star shared some seriously cute moments with Sarah Paulson, who's currently starring on the series in multiple roles, and Angela Bassett, who leads Ryan Murphy's other show, 9-1-1. The trio caught up in front of photographers on the red carpet at the Four Seasons Hotel, where they were also joined by Yara Shahidi, Keira Knightley, Shonda Rhimes, Charlize Theron, and Mia Farrow.

For those of you who aren't diehard AHS fans, Gaga first popped up in season five of Murphy's horror series, Hotel, in her Golden Globe award winning role of The Countess. She also appears in the sixth season, Roanoke, as the blood-soaked Scáthach. Once buzz for A Star Is Born dies down - just kidding, as if that will ever happen - maybe another Gaga cameo on the series will be in order. In the meantime, though, feel free to look through Gaga, Paulson, and Bassett's cute photo ops ahead.

The Conners Premiere Confirms the Dark Way Roseanne Barr's Character Is Killed Off

Ever since Roseanne Barr's racist tweets got the reboot of her '90s comedy Roseanne canceled on ABC, fans of the family sitcom have been wondering one thing (other than why Barr insists on tweeting such vile garbage, of course): how will the spinoff, The Conners, work without her? Now we finally have an answer, thanks to the show's Oct. 16 premiere.

Warning: spoilers for the first episode of The Conners ahead!

The episode, "Keep on Truckin," picks up just three weeks after Roseanne's season 10 finale, finding the remaining Conners sitting at the kitchen table. Although the family initially believes that the Conner matriarch passed away due to a complication from her knee surgery, it's eventually revealed by the Coroner's Office autopsy that Roseanne overdosed on opioids.

At first Dan (John Goodman) is reluctant to accept this as her cause of death, choosing to blame her unexpected demise on her body's inability to handle such a serious surgery on top of her myriad of other health problems. He also notes that he flushed all the pills she had left down the toilet, so there was no way she could've overdosed. He finally comes to terms with everything when Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) uncovers an extra stash in the kitchen freezer and Becky (Lecy Goranson) finds more pills in Roseanne's closet.

This actually isn't the first time Roseanne Conner's death by opioid overdose has been discussed. While appearing on Brandon Straka's YouTube show, Walk Away, a few weeks before The Conners premiered, 65-year-old Barr said her character would be killed off in the same way.

"Oh yeah, they killed her. They have her die of an opioid overdose," she said, before touching on how frustrated she is about the way the show's writers ended her character's arc. "It wasn't enough to [fire me] - they had to so cruelly insult the people who loved that family and that show."

Barr unsurprisingly left the series on bad terms given her abrasive, racist behavior and bizarre Twitter tirades, but the seeds of Roseanne Conner dying of an overdose have been planted ever since the reboot first premiered in early 2018. The character is seen struggling with an addiction to painkillers due to an injured knee, and fans actually already predicted an accidental overdose would be the cause of her demise when Roseanne was canceled earlier this Summer.

Barr did note, however, that she's trying to move on from the entire situation. "There's nothing I can do about it. It's done. It's over," she said. "There's no fight left."

Hopefully the fatal twist to her longtime character is the last we'll be getting of Barr on our TV screens.

Fran Drescher Wants Cardi B to Star in the Nanny Reboot, and I Dare You to Name a Better Duo

Fran Drescher wants to party with Cardi. The actress recently talked about a possible revival of The Nanny and mentioned that if the '90s sitcom were to be rebooted, she'd want Cardi B to star. "Wouldn't she be great as my daughter?" she said in an interview with People. Maybe I'm wrong, but Drescher might be onto something here.

The inspiration behind her genius idea came from one of Cardi B's more recent Instagram posts. Last month during Milan Fashion Week, the rapper stepped out wearing leopard print from head to toe and shouted Fran out in her photo's caption. When asked about Cardi's homage, Drescher told People she was "so flattered."

"I just thought she paid homage to me wearing animal print and said 'Fran Drescher,'" she said. "And then I got my juices flowing and thought, 'Wait a minute, she's from New York, we both have funny voices, she could be my daughter!" Later, in an interview with Extra, Drescher confirmed that she's "talking to [Cardi's] representation." Delighted at the idea of the team-up coming to fruition, she added, "It's really getting me excited. It's fresh, and it could be super fun."

Luckily for Drescher, Twitter is already 12 steps ahead of her, as many users on the platform have been drawing comparisons between the two for months now. Scroll ahead to see how people have responded to the news so far.

My Mom Took Over My Dating Life - Here's What Happened

This story is about Summer, my sweet, heartwarming, love-loving mother. At five foot six and [AGE REDACTED], she's still a natural blonde who believes in regular exercise, plant-based diets, and daily meditation. We're alike in our effervescent joy and propensity for fun. I get my optimistic glee from my mom and fear of not doing my homework from my dad. We differ in that I grew up to live in a big city, work in a tall building, and pay big money for small closet space. She grew up to raise animals, teach Sunday school, and take great pleasure in spending time in nature. Summer is a kinder, more vulnerable, and honest version of me, without such a harsh adult exoskeleton.

As many moms would be, she was thrilled at the notion of this takeover. You could practically hear her cracking her knuckles all the way in San Diego while she set up camp at the computer. Using her preferred dating platform, Match.com, she set about setting me up.

Dating App Profile

Here's how I describe myself on dating apps: "Equal parts Reese Witherspoon and Amy Schumer. 5'4." That's it. A dear friend blessed me with this flattering description and my circle of cohorts wholeheartedly agree on its accuracy. It's plenty of context and applies to both looks and personality. Summer didn't hate it, but she wanted more, so here's what she added:

"My friends describe me as equal parts Reese Witherspoon and Amy Schumer. I'm living my dream life here in San Francisco. My work as a senior director in communications and public relations is thrilling and challenging and I love it. I enjoy people and so many of the activities going on here in the city. If you are outgoing, have a strong leadership personality, and know how to enjoy life, you just may be my prince charming."

Aside from the two promotions she handed me and the line about prince charming, it's wasn't bad, but it was far more emphatic and revealing than I'd venture to be if this were all up to me. It wasn't, so I let Summer introduce me to a few folks.

My Mom's Openers

We agreed that she was in charge of selecting the guys and sending them an initial opener. If they responded, I'd take over the conversation and aim to set up a date. Overall, her introductions were really something. Here are a handful of my favorites:

  • "I love your name and the meaning of it. It feels like it fits you, do you love it?" (I took the liberty of Googling his name, and it turns out there are two meanings. Depending on who you ask it either means "powerful" or "blackness and sorrow." Luckily, his name was the first.)
  • "I like your profile. How did you ever get to hold a koala bear?" (This pick wasn't bad, and I'd actually already gone on a date with this guy about 18 months ago and ghosted him because he was too into sports. If you're reading this, koala guy, I'm very sorry for the confusion.)
  • "I do yoga both at home and at classes. Which do you prefer? Joy in this moment and always." (Literally, what? At first I was frustrated by this, but it's so her I couldn't help but smile at it.)

She also had a couple renditions of profile flattery. Her strategy was to tell them she liked them without asking a question that might make them feel forced to engage. Instead, she left the ball in their court with statements like these:

  • "Enjoyed your profile. Check out mine, and if you feel a connection, I'd love to hear from you."
  • "I am enjoying my present moment reading your profile, very nice!"

After a while I asked her to cool it a little and we settled on aiming for two-word openers like, "Hey there" or "Happy Friday!" She wasn't keen on my ideas, but she stuck to shorter opening lines including:

  • "I like your sense of humor."
  • "You sound fun."
  • And my personal favorite, "I'm game."

Mom's Ranking of My Romantic Prospects

My mom likes to joke that if you're going to marry for the wrong reasons, marry for money because looks fade. So perhaps it's no surprise that she deprioritized aesthetics in favor of more lasting qualities, like professionalism and spiritual values.

The mother of an agnostic gin-loving Netflix-watcher wanted me daughter to date Buddha.

This led to several conversations about dealbreakers, including the fact that just because she wants me to have a spiritual practice does not mean I should be dating someone with one. That was also true of other attributes, including vegetarianism, guys who don't drink, and even, those who don't like TV.

That's right, the mother of an agnostic gin-loving Netflix-watcher wanted me to date Buddha. Things were not looking promising.

The Date My Mom Helped Set Up

During the course of this experiment, my mom picked out a handful of eligible suitors, all of whom were meditators with advanced degrees and professional jobs. A few of them were reasonably pleasant, and finally, after what I thought was way too much back and forth, one of them invited me to have . . . a phone call.

These men weren't my typical tech bros who'd invite me for a drink after four to six messages, engage in two to five dates, and then we'd mutually ghost. But we're breaking molds here, so I agreed to this date via teleconference. Here's how that went down. The quotes are the words I said out loud, the parenthesis are my thoughts along the way.

*Ring Ring*

Me: "Lisa Holden speaking!" (I'm a millennial, so I only use this feature of my phone for work purposes. I literally do not know how to answer a phone casually.)

Him: "Hey Lisa, it's GuyYourMomWantsYouToMarry, is now still a good time to chat?" (OK great, you're strangely formal on the phone, too.)

Me: "Yep! Great time to chat, I'm all yours!" (Honestly, I would never talk like this in person, why did I just invite this guy to . . . what? Have me? This is how you get taken.)

Him: "Cool, so, I guess the first thing I want to know is how you feel about dating? Are you dating lots of people or just one at a time? I ask because I want to find something real, and I think that's easier to do when you commit as soon as possible." (Sorry, did you just ask me to be exclusive ONE minute into this conference call? If so, I'm flattered, though I will definitely end up declining. But first, the people-pleaser in me will vaguely pretend I'm open to this for a while.)

And off we went, me chatting away about my theories on dating, how people have too many options out there to commit, and how someone who knows what they want is what I'm looking for, but too afraid to actually go for. He talked about what he likes to do and what lights him up, none of which overlapped with my interests. We ended the call after about 30 minutes and agreed to talk again soon. I was mortified I'd been so honest, so when he texted me asking about my passions I sent him a link to my work right here on POPSUGAR. I've found it's a surefire way to make sure a guy doesn't want to see you again because they fear they're going to get written about. Spoiler: few of them are interesting enough to write about.

Then, shockingly, he responded. He said he wanted to learn more and included the following quote from Rumi, "Set your life on fire and seek out those who fan the flames."

I'm not proud of this, but, I ghosted him.

Do I want someone who supports my creative endeavors? Of course I do. Did I have an iota of chemistry with this guy? Sadly, no. But I learned something important during this experiment about openness and intimacy. I never share my writing with guys I date because I'm afraid of scaring them off. What I learned is that not everyone is fearful of a woman who writes about love, and there are men out there with whom I could conceivably be myself. I ended up texting the guy a week later thanking him for the conversation and awesome quote, but gently saying I didn't see us as a match.

Final Thoughts

When I told my mom about it, her response was, "If you don't like him, do you think he's too young for me?" So as it turns out, Summer didn't find my soulmate, but maybe she wasn't really looking for me to begin with.

But as moms do, she taught me an important lesson. Hiding who you really are might feel safer in the dating world, but in the end, showcasing the truest parts of yourself on dates is a better way to go. Moving forward, I'll attempt to bring forth that honest, vulnerable side of myself that I get from Summer in the first place, and who knows, maybe I'll find someone who can deal with (or maybe even celebrates) dating a writer.

This Halloween Wedding Shoot Is a Gothic Fairy Tale Come to Life - Complete With Live Snake!

Now, we are sure you have all seen over-the-top wedding photos, but have you ever seen anything like these? This Gothic wedding was styled and shot by photographer Jewels Gray in the hopes of capturing all things romantic, intricate, and spine-chilling. Looking for a bride that captured the stone-cold essence of Snow White, Jewels used Sabrina as the perfect centerpiece. With milky white skin and jet black hair, this model captured the dark, Gothic vibes as well as the idyllic and charming wedding feels. The shoot was complete with a black wedding dress, gold skull rings, and even a real boa constrictor. These photos are frighteningly romantic . . . if that's even possible.

As for everything that was needed to make this scene come to life, most of the props came from vendors in the St. Louis area, but the bride and groom brought some of their own pieces to complete the shoot. "Sabrina's shoes and earrings were her own, and I about died when I saw the shoes she brought!" Jewels said. (TBH, we couldn't believe she just had those lying around her closet, either.) As for the groom, Simba was dressed head-to-toe in black (complete with black nail polish) and brought his own motorcycle boots to finish off his look.

Check out this hauntingly beautiful Halloween wedding ahead and get ready to be spooked!

Allow Barack Obama to Explain Why There's No Excuse For Missing Midterm Elections

Is there any excuse that's stopping you from voting in the upcoming midterm elections? Barack Obama is here to tell you why nothing should stop voters from getting to the polls. In a video for ATTN:, the former president addressed seven common excuses, including "midterm elections are boring" and "my vote doesn't matter."

Among the many reasons Obama offered as to why voters should participate in the election, perhaps the most compelling is the diverse range of candidates. "For way too long, politicians haven't been representative of America as a whole - but that's changing this year," he said. "More women are running for office than ever before. More LGBT candidates are running for office, first-time candidates, young veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, young leaders from across the political spectrum."

Watch the fun PSA above, and honestly, just do as the former president says comes Nov. 6. Though several voter registration deadlines have already passed, there are still quite a few states that have deadlines later in October. If you are already registered but won't be able to make it to the polls, learn how to vote via absentee ballot.

This Parisian Wedding Is What Dreams Are Made Of - but 1 Groom's Regal Cape Stole the Show

Um, hello. If you haven't already, please put a stop to whatever you're doing and take a look at these breathtaking wedding photos that are currently making their rounds on social media. The photos in question belong to James and Riccardo Burrell-Hinds, who recently found viral fame after photos of them tying the knot in Paris earlier this year were shared on Twitter by a family member and retweeted by more than 43,000 users. Not to be dramatic or anything, but I audibly gasped at the sight of them, and I honestly can't even figure out what I'm the most impressed by. Just look at that backdrop! And those flowers! And that cape! It's all so stunning.

According to the newlyweds, the idea to get married abroad was actually brought up just five months before they were set to exchange vows. "We had seen so many weddings happening in the months leading up to ours so we had to do something unique and fitting for us," they told POPSUGAR. "Paris is just such a fairy tale and regal city so it was just the perfect place for a dream wedding. We knew that it would be a beautiful place for our family to experience."

James and Riccardo met in 2015 and were engaged a few years later. When their big day finally came, James stole the show in an elaborate wedding cape that was inspired by his desire to have a "royal" wedding. "He was determined to have that cape no matter where we decided to get married," Riccardo said. "He wanted to make sure we had a royal wedding, and it just worked out perfectly with the palace setting that we decided on for the ceremony." See more photos from James and Riccardo's wedding day ahead.
