The American Horror Story Alum You Might Have Missed in This Week's Episode

This week's episode of American Horror Story is filled to the brim with familiar faces, more than you probably realized. The most obvious, of course, are the original occupants of the dreaded Murder House: Evan Peters as Tate! Taissa Farmiga as Violet! Dylan McDermott as Ben! Connie Britton as Vivien! Jessica Lange as Constance! Amid all the excitement, you may have missed one other returning alum who stretches all the way back to season two's Asylum. Well, and there is also the fact that she's missing quite a bit of the defining features related to her other character.

We're talking about Naomi Grossman! Of course, you remember Grossman best as Pepper from Asylum and later Freak Show. Pepper is such a special character in the AHS universe; she's the first character to have crossed over between seasons, which means she was also the first hint that all the seasons are somehow connected. In Apocalypse, Grossman appears as one of the cardinals in the Church of Satan. (The other being Ms. Miriam Meade, of course.) She's the character who describes how they managed to find Michael Langdon and the one who first plunges the sacrificial knife into the body of their frightened victim. Without all the Pepper prosthetics, Grossman is hard to recognize!

Between this and all the other returning faces in Apocalypse, the show's eighth season is undoubtedly the most laden with nostalgia yet. I mean, sure, we're also nostalgic just from having seen the Murder House one final time, but Grossman's return made this week's episode that much sweeter. Who will we see next?!

Prince Harry Was Given Some Tiny Swim Trunks, and You Better Believe He Tried Them On

Prince Harry is such a good sport! While wife Meghan Markle rested at home during their 16-day tour of Australia, the famous royal was gifted a pair of "budgie smugglers," i.e., a Speedo, by Invictus Games athletes. After graciously accepting the gift, Harry went one step further.

"He said, 'Shall I put them on?' We said, '100 percent,'" said ABC's Dylan Alcott, as reported by The Guardian. The prince then proceeded to pull the tiny swim trunks over his dress pants, giving everyone something to laugh about.

Harry's hilarious moment with the athletes might've been prompted by an earlier meeting, when participants asked him to sign another pair of budgie smugglers, and he had to decline. It's against royal protocol to give out autographs, but this seems like a pretty good alternative! Keep reading to see more snaps from Harry's exchange with the athletes below, and make sure to check out the best snaps of the royal couple's tour so far.

Why You'll Never See Prince Harry With Tattoos

Out of all the British royals, Prince Harry has always had the reputation for being the edgy one - or at least the one most willing to buck tradition in small ways. Ever since his wedding to Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have truly stepped into their roles as royal trendsetters and forward-thinking royals, in everything from etiquette to fashion. But there's one thing that's a step too far even for Prince Harry: tattoos.

Although it's not technically forbidden the way that other things (such as taking political sides or taking selfies) are, most senior members of the royal family keep their fashion choices relatively conservative. That means no permanent body modifications other than simple ear piercings for women. As one of the most visible and senior royals, Prince Harry doesn't really rock the boat much these days. Similarly, other high-profile royals, such as the Duchess of Sussex or the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are unlikely to be seen with tattoos.

We won't be seeing Prince Harry with any ink, but there are plenty of royals who do have tattoos! In other European royal families, there are high-ranked royals who have chosen to display some body art. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, the country's future king, proudly displays several tattoos, including a very visible shark on one of his legs that dates back to his naval service days. In Sweden, Princess Sofia, the former model who married Prince Carl Philip in 2015, has a sun tattoo on her upper back that was visible above the neckline of her wedding gown. Even the British Windsors have one rebel: Lady Amelia Windsor, a distant cousin descended from the Duke of Kent who has several visible tattoos.

If Prince Harry ever does want a bit of ink, he does have an option. He could follow the lead of his sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge, who got a small, temporary henna tattoo in February 2018.

She May Be the Queen, but These Photos Prove Her Grandkids Just Think of Her as Granny

She may be the head of state for 53 countries, but Queen Elizabeth is just "Granny" to her grandkids. The monarch first became a grandmother back in 1977, when Princess Anne gave birth to Peter Phillips, and since then her brood has grown to include eight grandchildren (plus seven great-grandchildren). It doesn't matter how busy the queen's schedule can get, she always seems to make time to share a laugh and create special memories with her grandkids at family gatherings and official royal events. Get ready to royally swoon and scroll through to see some of her cutest moments with her grandchildren from over the years.

Want to Scar Trick-or-Treaters For Life? Here's How to Dress Up as Pennywise the Clown

The It reboot was 2017's biggest horror movie, which means you're still going to see plenty of terrifying Pennywise the clowns running around on Halloween this year. While the thought of opening your door to trick-or-treaters dressed as the horrifying evil entity from Stephen King's beloved story might make you want to run and hide, we have a proposition for you: if you can't beat the clowns, why not join the clowns?

Of all the recent buzzy pop culture Halloween costumes out there, Pennywise is actually one of the easiest to pull off. Sure, his white and silver clown suit might seem elaborate at first glance, but the trick to freaking everyone out with your costume is all in the makeup. If you can properly paint your face to match Pennywise's and get a red wig or temporary red hair dye, people will barely notice anything under your chin, trust us.

What to wear: The key to Pennywise's outfit is keeping things relatively monochromatic (in this case, either silver or white). Pair silver or white leggings with a ruffled, long-sleeved shirt or dress (you can always spray paint it silver), and glue three red pom-poms down the front. Wear white, black, or red boots, and glue a red pom-pom to the toe of each. Finish it off with a pair of white or silver gloves, white face paint, a red wig, and red lipstick that you draw in two lines all the way up through your eyebrows.

What to bring: A red balloon on a string, and maybe a newspaper sailboat with the name "S.S. Georgie" written on the side in black marker.

How to act, if you're going method with it: Deranged, and hungry for children. Speak in a high-pitched sing-song voice, and feel free to break into a crazy dance if the mood strikes you.

The Surprisingly Understandable Reason Royals Aren't Supposed to Eat Shellfish

Although it's unlikely that we'll find ourselves hosting a meal for the British royals anytime soon, there is one item that you definitely won't find on our menu: shellfish. The entire royal family is advised to keep their distance from shellfish - including shrimp, crab, lobster, clams, mussels, oysters, and scallops - and the reason isn't as complicated as you might think.

Related: 8 Rules You Should Follow When Interacting With Royal Families Around the World

Shellfish has a high risk of causing foodborne illness, and given their hectic travel schedules, royals simply don't have time for food poisoning. As well as shellfish, it is also suggested that royals avoid rare meat, spicy foods, and tap water, especially while traveling abroad. Seafood is one of Meghan Markle's favorite cuisines, so we can't imagine this guideline is going to be easy for her to stick with (but it will be probably be easier now that she's eating for two!).

While the Queen always abides by these guidelines, more rebellious members of the royal family (such as Prince Charles) have been caught indulging in some of these supposedly banned foods. Prince William has also claimed that he and Kate Middleton love sushi, despite the similar risk that comes with consuming raw fish. While this royal rule definitely makes more sense than some others, we still think it should be up to every member of the family to decide what they choose to include in their diet despite the risks.

The Story Behind The Hate U Give's Title Is as Powerful as the Film

The highly anticipated movie adaptation of Angie Thomas's 2017 YA bestseller, The Hate U Give, arrived in theaters nationwide on Oct. 19, and it's not one to miss. The film features a star-studded cast - including Amandla Stenberg, Regina Hall, and Russell Hornsby - and a powerful story that tackles race, police brutality, and black identity. The novel, which has actually been banned in several school districts, centers on the story of 16-year-old Starr Carter as she deals with the aftermath of witnessing her friend's death at the hands of the police.

The Hate U Give began as a short story in response to the 2009 police shooting of Oscar Grant. "Every day, I would make a 10-minute drive to school from where I lived, and I would hear two different conversations about Oscar," Thomas revealed in an interview with Cosmopolitan. "In my neighborhood, Oscar was 'one of us,' but in my school, he 'shouldn't have done this or that,' or 'he got what he deserved.'"

Though Thomas initially put the book aside because it was emotionally draining, she decided to expand the story into a novel after the deaths of several more black lives at the hands of police officers. "I found myself more angry and more frustrated and more hurt," she admitted.

One of the prevalent themes of the book is how the oppressive systems that keep minorities from getting ahead feed into the cycle of crime, violence, and poverty that dominates poor communities. It's no surprise that Thomas drew inspiration for the book's title from Tupac Shakur, a rapper well known for music that focuses on the hardship of racism, social oppression, and life in poor communities. It's his concept of "THUG LIFE" that becomes an important motif in the book while also providing the title. The phrase is actually an acronym for "The Hate U Gave Little Infants F*cks Everybody," which, according to the rapper, means, "What you feed us as seeds, grows and blows up in your face."

This is perfectly encapsulated by most of the people living in Garden Heights. As Maverick explains to Starr, the racism that so many people in Garden Heights receive - whether that's in the form of being abused by police or not being able to find solid career opportunities - results in them resorting to drug dealing and gangs. Because they lack the tools and ability to better themselves, they turn to the methods and people they know are available. In turn, this makes them easy fodder for more racism and oppression, which completes the cycle. For Thomas, this was why Tupac's lyric was the perfect title for her novel.

"Everybody knows [THUG LIFE] as the tattoo he had. . . . But when I saw him explain what it means, it hit me that that's not just in my book, but that's what we see in society," she explained. "When these unarmed black people lose their lives, the hate they've been given screws us all. We see it in the form of anger, and we see it in the form of riots. So when I saw that in the video, it was like a sign."

We have no doubt that no one will forget what "THUG LIFE" really means after watching this movie.

Sam Claflin Is Joining Peaky Blinders, So Excuse Me While I Go and Have a Little Lie Down

British drama Peaky Blinders is set to return to Netflix for its fifth season soon, and a whole bunch of new cast members have been announced. Not content with getting hearts fluttering with the return of Cillian Murphy's Tommy Shelby, this season the show is adding yet another of our favorite actors, Sam Claflin. The Hunger Games star joins a long list of big names who've taken roles in the show, including Tom Hardy, Adrian Brody, and Game of Thrones star Aidan Gillen.

Also joining the cast are Anya Taylor-Joy, Emmett Scanlan, Neil Maskell, Kate Dickie, Cosmo Jarvis, and Brian Gleeson, who may have revealed a slight plot spoiler when he told the Telegraph that he was "looking forward to kicking around in the mud of Northern England with an exceptional cast and crew." Was his "northern" reference alluding to a move from Birmingham on screen, or just referencing the fact that a lot of the Midlands-set show is actually filmed in Liverpool and Manchester? Only time will tell, but as we impatiently away the return of the dark, stylish, and beautifully shot show, find out more about the stars who'll be joining the Shelby family on screen.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Cast Weighs In on How a Riverdale Crossover Could Work

Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has yet to premiere its first season on the streaming giant, but there's already one very important question on fans' minds: Will there ever be a crossover with Riverdale?

Although The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comics are rooted in the same universe as the rest of the classic Archie characters we see on The CW's Riverdale - Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, etc. - it doesn't look like they're going to cross paths anytime soon, no matter how many cute selfies Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka posts with the Riverdale cast on Instagram. Both Riverdale and the new Sabrina series are helmed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also serves as the chief creative officer of Archie comics; yet, what might keep Sabrina from making an appearance at Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe anytime soon is simply a matter of the networks each show is tied to - The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will be on Netflix, while Riverdale is on The CW.

There's also the level of supernatural occurrences in each show to contend with. While Sabrina embraces darker supernatural elements (she's a witch, after all), Riverdale is typically just dark, save for hallucinations of zombie Jason Blossom and floating twin babies. All that aside, the cast of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina seems open to connecting the shows, which they elaborated on during a recent interview during New York Comic-Con.

After acknowledging that it's not a decision that she would ever be able to make - it's up to Aguirre-Sacasa and the networks - Lucy Davis, who plays Hilda Spellman, said she hopes that a crossover would be done "not just for the sake of it."

"You would want it to be real, authentic in some way, and not campy."

"It should happen way in the future, if it does happen," she said. "I think it's good to settle who we are. Riverdale knows who they are, and they're amazing. And it's good to be in your own worlds and your own universe. Maybe if it does, you would want it to be real, authentic in some way, and not campy. We'd both have to be established before that."

Shipka agreed, and even offered up her opinion on how the crossover episode could happen. "I personally think that the only way a crossover could really work is if it was a very isolated character that came into our world," she said. "If it was a very . . . if somehow, someone got off the beaten path and they wandered into our world. A funeral, perhaps? Or something like that. But I think the second that you start involving more and more people, it kind of could get crazier. I mean, who am I? I'm not a writer or anything like that. But I do think that it just selfishly would be really fun to do."

In the horror comic, Sabrina lives across from Riverdale in a town called Greendale, which is on the other side of Sweetwater River. Just like in the decidedly lighter, mid-'90s TGIF comedy Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, the young half-witch, half-mortal is developing her powers with the help of her aunts Hilda and Zelda, and a talking cat named Salem. Which characters from Riverdale would be a good fit across town? We'd put our money on someone like Cheryl Blossom.

If all else fails, however, Shipka also has another plan in mind. "We should send all of our show's monsters to Riverdale," she laughed. "Let them meet a few people."

This Instant Pot Spaghetti Is Easier Than Frozen Pizza, and SO Much Tastier

As a mom with a full-time work schedule, there are plenty of kitchen hacks I rely on to make weekday cooking and cleaning less of a nightmare. I'm addicted to recipe-hunting on Pinterest, always searching for the next tasty, low-maintenance meal to bang out on the nights when I'm in charge of dinner duty. The fewer ingredients, faster cook time, and less dirty cookware I have to wash, the better. If it's healthier and cheaper than ordering a pizza and my toddler happily devours it, that dish becomes a regular in my rotation.

My husband and my son have a soft spot for Italian-American comfort food: pizza, spaghetti, lasagna - you get the picture. And while I genuinely enjoy the process and taste payoff of making fresh pesto, hand-rolling meatballs, and simmering sauces, those activities are filed under a totally different cooking category that my weeknight self can't be bothered with. Survival, not leisurely passion, is my meal-planning mantra.

When I spotted The Salty Marshmallow's recipe for Instant Pot spaghetti, I immediately noticed the high rating (just under five stars) and the 15-minute prep and cook time. That's faster than preparing a frozen pizza when you account for preheating! Naturally, I clicked. The recipe takes only 15 minutes because everything cooks together in the Instant Pot, including the pasta! After sautéing the meat and adding spices, a jar of your go-to marinara sauce, a can of diced tomatoes, and water, you snap a pound of spaghetti in half, lay it across the top, and close the lid. The entire dish is ready in 10 minutes.

The result is fat and juicy strands of spaghetti soaked in pasta sauce. The meat is tender and flavorful. Because the pasta is cooked in the sauce, every bite has the perfect ratio of carby, saucey, meaty goodness. Depending on what you like (and have on hand), you can throw in anything from fresh garlic to mushrooms during the cooking process, then top it with grated Parmesan, red pepper flakes, or fresh herbs. Clean-up is as easy as recycling the diced tomatoes can and marinara sauce jar and cleaning the Instant Pot when you're finished - making it fuss-free in every aspect.

Check out The Salty Marshmallow to try out this delicious and easy recipe for Instant Pot spaghetti!

13 Horror Films That Won't Scar Your Tweens For Life

As a Certified Wimp™, there are only a few scary movies that I can really handle watching to ensure I don't spend the next week having nightmares over a film's plot. However, I was forced to watch tons of horror movies as a kid at sleepovers and birthday parties, because it's apparently some kind of rite of passage as a tween and teen to sit through scary movies with friends and not completely freak out (which I never once succeeded at, for the record).

Whether you're a horror film buff or not, you may have a budding scary-movie-lover on your hands (or just a kid who wants to watch all of the movies in various Halloween movie marathons on TV without really knowing what they're getting into). To ease your 9- to 13-year-olds into scary movies, there are a handful of classics and a few newer horror films that have just the right amount of fright - there's nothing too terrifying, but nothing too childish on this list. (You know your kid best, so before watching some of these films, you may have to consider what your child can handle, despite the age each film is considered appropriate for.)

Read ahead for 13 scary movies that are perfect to pop on at your tween's next sleepover, during a Halloween party, or on your next family movie night (and check out this larger list of Halloween movies for kids of all ages).

Skittles Is Releasing a "Rotten Zombie" Bag, and We're Squirming Just Thinking About It

While reaching for an ordinary bag of Skittles, we usually expect to "taste the rainbow" and flash a colorful grin of sugar-stained teeth. However, the newest Skittles flavor, dubbed "Rotten Zombie," has a far more sinister vibe just in time for Halloween 2019. (Yep, you'll have to wait an entire year!).

A Woman's Toddler Was Having a "Meltdown of Epic Proportions," So This Mom Stepped In

Katie McLaughlin, a mom and blogger, knows that bringing a toddler out in public can be challenging, especially if your kiddo is set on making your shopping trip difficult. She explained in a Facebook post how she stepped in when a stranger's 3-year-old daughter was having "a meltdown of epic proportions" inside Target, and frankly, we should all take a page out of her book.

"Behind me at the checkout, this 3-year-old was kicking and screaming and flopping around on the floor like a fish out of water," she wrote. "I tried to catch the mom's eye and give her an empathetic look, but she was too busy wrestling with her daughter to notice me."

Despite the fact the little girl was completely losing her sh*t, Katie remarked that the woman was "doing everything 'right'" as far as she could see.

"She remained calm. She spoke to her child in a gentle, reassuring tone. She was as attentive as she could be while also attempting to pay for her assortment of $10 tees and seasonal decor," said Katie. "But despite her best efforts, the meltdown only got bigger and bigger. The mom still stayed calm, but I noticed her cheeks were very flushed as she apologized profusely to the cashier."

"Empathy instead of judgment. Support instead of silence. Community instead of isolation. This is the parenting revolution."

Although Katie wanted to assure the fellow mother that she was doing a great job, she felt hesitant to approach a stranger who clearly had her hands full.

"Say something kind to her, I thought," said Katie. "She's embarrassed and alone and feels like a terrible mother. Remind her that none of those things are true. But then I thought, no, it's none of your business. LEAVE THE POOR STRANGER ALONE."

Eventually, Katie made up her mind and caught up with the other mom in the parking lot.

"I took my time on the way out," she said. "The girl continued screaming at the top of her lungs all the way to the parking lot. She fought fiercely as her mom strapped her into her car seat . . . 'Sorry to bother you, but I just wanted to say you're doing a great job.'"

In the moment, the struggling mom completely broke down: "She looked up at me, blinked twice, and then visibly melted," wrote Katie. "Tears started streaming. 'I think I feel as bad as she does.' I nodded [and said], 'I know it doesn't feel like it now, but you are rocking this.'"

The stranger's reply made Katie's efforts completely worth it: "'You have no idea how much I needed to hear that.' I did though. Every parent does," said Katie.

Katie has some advice for people who want to help parents who are having a hard time: just say something nice.

"So let's start saying it. Let's take the risk. That mom could have looked at me funny. She could have told me to mind my own business," said Katie. "But I took the chance and we are both better for it. Empathy instead of judgment. Support instead of silence. Community instead of isolation. This is the parenting revolution."

1 Mom's Candid Drawings of Her Nighttime Feeding Routine Are So Damn Relatable

Mattea Goff, a mom of two, is known for creating a doodle every now and again. But recently, Mattea brought the hellish clusterf*ck tiring reality of nighttime feeding to life on paper, and boy is the concept of "useless nipples" genius. The sleepy momma shared her work on Facebook, and apparently other women quite literally got the picture.

"I have a tendency to doodle my emotions, so at the end of a long weekend, this is literally how my night and morning went," Mattea told POPSUGAR. "I sat down and started drawing and when I was done I presented it to my husband who laughed, got the point, and that was that. It was only later when some friends saw it that they insisted I post it, and the rest is history."

"The majority of this stuff falls to moms. That's not good or bad it just is what it is! Babies need their mothers."

Although Mattea's doodles were clearly meant to give parents a laugh, she hopes that her work brings women together.

"I think most get it, whether you're exclusively breastfeeding or bottle feeding and everything in between," she said. "The majority of this stuff falls to moms. That's not good or bad it just is what it is! Babies need their mothers."

As for all the new dads out there? Mattea simply urges them to help out whenever they can.

"I think most good dads would give up their nipples if they weren't so useless," she joked. "Support is really important. Dads can and do help out in so many other ways - raising a family is a team sport. And hang in there! Because believe it or not, these hard days and even harder nights will be a pleasant distant memory, and you will never look back and regret the time you put in to your little ones."

On the Keto Diet and Headed to Olive Garden? Here's What You Should Order

Contrary to what you may have heard, there's more to Olive Garden than never-ending pasta bowls and bottomless baskets of breadsticks. (Not that we're complaining.) That's good news for those on the keto diet - because if you're one of them, you already know that breadsticks aren't on the menu when you're trying to stay under 50 grams of carbs per day.

Olive Garden's nutrition information is available on the restaurant's website, making it super simple to build a meal that will fit into your daily macros. There are a surprising number of keto-friendly dishes you can order straight off the menu, but we've pulled together tips for custom-ordering a low-carb pasta bowl, too. Find what you're craving here, and pull up a seat - it's dinnertime.

  • If you're just here for the apps: An order of cheesy, herby stuffed mushrooms will cost you only 13 grams of carbs. If you don't have quite that much wiggle room left in the day, go for Olive Garden's famous house salad (sans croutons, and sub olive oil for the dressing), and you'll come in at under 10 grams of carbs for your entire meal.
  • If you're in the mood for chicken: The dinner portions of both the chicken piccata and the chicken margherita have only 12 and 13 grams of carbs, respectively. They're both served with the parmesan-crusted zucchini, which actually has the lowest carb count of any of Olive Garden's side dishes and is higher in fat than the steamed vegetables.
  • If you'd prefer seafood: The herb-grilled salmon has just under 10 grams of carbs and comes with a tasty parmesan garlic broccoli.
  • If you're feeling saucy: Take a little creative license with the menu, and try building your own pasta bowl, sans pasta. Very nicely ask your server for a pasta bowl with alfredo sauce and chicken or Italian sausage, but ask for it to be served over broccoli or garden veggies. You may get a few weird looks, but when you finally satisfy that craving, it won't matter.

If you've never cooked with butternut squash before or just want to get creative, we have 16 slow-cooker recipes, so you can enjoy squash season stress-free.

I Found a Hand Sanitizer That Doesn't Give Me a Headache, and I Keep One in Every Purse

I'm a germophobe, and I have no problem admitting that. I've been toting around hand sanitizer since middle school, and on public transportation, forget about it. The downside is that hand sanitizer usually dries out my skin, and I hate the potent smell.

Recently, though, I found a hand sanitizer that smells like coconut and lemongrass, and my life has never been the same. I'm constantly complimented on the scent, prompting me to gift it to a few close friends. I now keep one in every bag, knowing that, for me, nothing else quite compares. As we head into cold and flu season, do yourself a favor and carry around a hand sanitizer that you actually enjoy applying.

Hot or Cold? The Benefits of Both Kinds of Showers

Showering is an essential part of a healthy routine, but depending on the temperature, your time spent under the water can offer different benefits. Whether you like it hot or prefer it cold, learn how your showering routine can affect your health. After reading, you might rethink which way you turn the dial.

Some Like It Hot

  • Hot showers can relieve tension and soothe stiff muscles. If you have a powerful showerhead, even better! Let the hot water work like a minimassage on your shoulders, neck, and back.
  • Studies have shown that taking a hot shower can amp up your oxytocin levels and ease anxiety. Anyone working with stress can use more of the love hormone in their life!
  • A hot shower also acts as a natural decongestant to relieve cold symptoms, since the hot steam moisturizes nasal passages.

Some Like It Cold

  • Cold showers - as unbearable as they are - are actually really good for our bodies! Turning your shower cold for the last five minutes can help "shock" your body awake. This instant change in temperature relieves your body of fatigue and increases your mental alertness.
  • A "cooler" shower (around 68 degrees) for two to three minutes once or twice daily is recommended by researchers as a treatment for depression. Just make sure you check in with your doctor before testing this out!
  • On the more vain side of the spectrum, cold showers are better for our hair and skin. Where a hot shower can dry things out, cold showers hydrate and help with split ends and dry skin.

Fitness Trainer Says Do These 6 Things to Lose Weight (Counting Calories Is Not 1 of Them)

While dialing in your nutrition is absolutely essential if you want to lose or maintain your weight, you don't need to obsess over counting calories. Chad Hargrove, a personal trainer and nutrition coach, says do these six things to lose weight and get toned without tracking every little calorie.

This Is How I Meal Prepped For a Week Using Only Trader Joe's Ingredients

Trader Joe's is hands down my favorite place to grocery shop. Before I started shopping at the budget store, I never thought I'd ever hear myself say "enjoy" and "grocery shopping" in the same sentence, but it's true. I really love my weekly trip to meal-prep heaven.

Trader Joe's is the land of endless possibilities. It has every ingredient you can dream of, from pesto-marinated chicken to gluten-free granola - I could spend hours in the frozen food section alone, and I definitely didn't know how many ways there were to prepare cauliflower until I started shopping at the store - all at reasonable prices.

But with options comes responsibility. It is easy to get overwhelmed by all of the different choices at TJ's, especially when you're trying to stick to your healthy eating goals and are tempted by delicious things like birthday cake popcorn and peanut butter cups. That's why I've broken down a few quick and nutritious meal-prep ideas that use a few favorite Trader Joe's finds.

This Workout Is So Easy, You Won't Believe Us

Priorities start to shift in colder weather, and we're right there with you! While we're working on our fitness all Summer long, we tend to focus on family gatherings, big meals, and cozy parties when temperatures drop. But how do you keep your health in check when all you can think about is mashed potatoes?

One of the absolute best ways to stay in shape is also the easiest - just walk! While we wouldn't tell you to let fitness take the back seat during any season, we get how crazy the end of the year can be, so let's try to simplify as much as possible. Walking boasts tons of benefits, especially when you're outdoors in the fresh, crisp Autumn air. Here's how adding some steps and miles to your days will keep you in check while the cider's flowing and the to-do list seems infinite.

It's a Great Type of LISS Cardio

Using LISS cardio, which is a longer period of cardio that's done at a steady pace, as a part of your weekly routine is a great way to complement your strength-training regimen. You'll elevate your heart rate and keep your body mobile and active in a way that's simple, accessible, and enjoyable. It doesn't hurt that walking is much less intimidating than running for most people!

Cool Weather Helps You Burn More Fat

Forget the hot yoga or heated Pilates: you'll burn more fat walking outside in the chilly temps. Celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak says, "There's no better time for a brisk evening walk." Take advantage of the weather outside, and set that fat on fire.

Low-Impact = Lower Injury Risk

Want to be able to work out for years to come? Save your joints! Walking is low-impact, meaning your body won't be pounding the ground with force (and thus giving your ankles, knees, hips, etc. a breather). As such, this is a low-risk exercise that will keep you healthy for other workouts.

You Can Work Off a Holiday Meal

One of the best ways to digest a big holiday meal after a binge-fest (looking at you, Thanksgiving) is to get moving. Make like the Italians and go for a 15-minute (or more!) walk after dinnertime to process all the food. Don't forget to hydrate!

You'll Get a Solid Calorie Burn

You can burn up to 120 calories in an hour on a brisk walk, so why not make a date of it with a friend or significant other? Walk to get coffee and go for a stroll in a nearby park. Add a few minutes in the morning and evening, and you'll be in shape all season long.

You Burn More Fat Than You Do When You Run

Did you know walking burns more fat than running? Pasternak also shared that walking is more optimal than running for burning through our body's fat stores (running tends to burn through carbohydrate stores).

It's a Mood Booster

With shorter days and less sunlight, it's important to get outside in the sun whenever you can to avoid SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Giving your circulation a nice rev with a quick walk and getting some fresh air daily might be just the ticket to staving off seasonal depression.

9 Things You Shouldn't Tell Your Friends About Your Marriage

While our friends are often our biggest supporters and "chosen family," there are a few things you should avoid telling them about your marriage. Why? Well, in some cases it would just violate your spouse's privacy, and in other cases, it could taint how people view the marriage . . . which can be detrimental in the long run. In certain situations, it may be advisable to only tell certain friends "certain things" and vice versa. No matter what, be careful when you share information about your marriage - lest it be held against either of you down the line.
