There are weddings, and then there are Halloween-themed weddings. Same, but different . . . in the best ways! And what makes this wedding even more fun? With intricate Halloween decor transforming its backyard setting, a chuppah built by the bride's father, and a handmade wedding dress by the bride herself, this wedding was one like never before.
The bride and groom, Melanie and Craig, met at an event for the video game World of Warcraft about 10 years ago. "Of the hundred-thousand people, we happened to be at the same place at the same time when the enemy faction came to raid the quest area we were in. We both ended up hiding under an overturned boat waiting for them to leave. Serendipity? Fate? Luck? We don't know, but life certainly has a sense of humor," the bride said.
The wedding took place at the groom's sister's beautiful 200-year-old home, which was intricately decorated in goo and gore for the Halloween-inspired festivity. Everything from bloody skulls and skeletal limbs to pumpkins of all sizes adorned the venue. And to complete the theme, the flower girl carried a cauldron full of petals. Riley, a sweet Golden Retriever from California, always has one thing on his mind: fetch. But rather than sit around and whine for his humans to throw the ball for him, he's been enlisting the help of random strangers walking by his house. In a tweet that's making its rounds on social media, a man named Johnny Berchtold caught Riley's strategic play on camera.
"Dropping the ball works almost 100 percent of the time," Riley's owner, Wendy Walden, told The Dodo. "Sometimes he misses his mark (not all people love dogs), but then we would always find the ball sitting on the wall because someone picked it up."
By all accounts, Riley doesn't have to try that hard to get a little attention. Most people, including Johnny, popped over for a visit willingly. "I saw Riley across the street and obviously freaked out because of how strikingly cute the sight was," he said. "I had to capture it in that moment, and that's when I realized he had a toy in his mouth. He dropped the ball over the wall, and the video cuts out because I had to return the ball - he was looking right at me!"
Despite the fact that Johnny was well aware he was getting played, it doesn't seem to bother him one bit. "After I returned the ball, I shook his paw and rubbed his head, and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy the attention, which is when I realized that it was just a cute scheme to get said attention."

Naomi Campbell, the Queen of Fashion, Shut Down the Moschino x H&M Runway
Which designer can get all of the Hadid siblings and Naomi Campbell in one place, you ask? Jeremy Scott, of course. The designer brought everyone together for the highly anticipated Moschino [tv] H&M runway show, and boy, was it something. When I first received the invite, which came in a phone case from the collection, I could tell it would be an interesting show, and I was not disappointed. I walked into Pier 36 to see the catwalk covered with TVs and blinking neon signs that reminded me of Times Square.
"The Moschino [tv] H&M collection is a gift to my fans and I wanted to give them the most Moschino collection ever. I tried to include all the ingredients you would expect from one of my shows - cartoon couture mixed with a street wear vibe doused with hip hop worthy amounts of bling bling to create a totally Moschino look," Scott said.
Gigi Hadid opened the show by walking down a staircase in a gold sequined coat, sweater dress, big peace earrings, and a logo-covered eye mask to the tunes of an old New York musical. Her sister Bella walked the runway in a sexy leather minidress while their brother Anwar wore a head-to-toe leather ensemble. Their mom, Yolanda Hadid, proudly watched from the celeb-filled front row, which also included Paris Jackson, Bebe Rexha, and Coco Rocha, to name a few.
Perhaps the most memorable moment was when Naomi Campbell, aka the only queen who matters, IMO, closed the show in a shimmering silver dress. While the first drop featured flirty dresses and bustiers, the second drop is equally sexy. However, you might be surprised to learn it's not the red jumpsuit with the plunging neckline, satin minidress, or ruffled black dress with the slit leg that Chrissy is most excited about.
"I still love showing off a hint of skin, even when I'm being comfy and cozy. I love pulling the neckline of a shirt and having it drape off my shoulder, and I did that with the sweaters I have in this collection," Chrissy told me during our interview.
