7 Myths Nutritionists Wish You'd Stop Believing

There's a lot of misinformation out there, but dietitian Julie Upton, MS, RD, of Appetite For Health, is here to shed light on seven nutritional myths that could mess with your weight-loss efforts and your health.

The Internet is like the Wild West when it comes to nutrition information: anything goes. Websites are rife with less-than-accurate nutrition facts, which only fuels food myths and adds to consumers' confusion about which picks are the healthiest. At best, you can hope there's a kernel of truth in what you're reading, but more often than not, there's no scientific basis for these myths. Below are seven of the most popular nutrition myths and the real deal on each.

If You're Beating Yourself Up For Missing a Workout, You Have to Read Bob Harper's Powerful Message

Since suffering a heart attack last year, trainer and fitness guru Bob Harper has overhauled his life. He went from eating a low-carb Paleo diet to eating mostly plant-based and plenty of healthy carbs. He also shifted his focus from intense cardio workouts to doing more low-impact exercise, including hot yoga.

But the biggest change Bob made had nothing to do with what he eats or how he performs in the gym. In fact, it's his lack of performance in the gym that's had the most impact. "I've cut myself a lot more slack when there are times where I can't work out," he told POPSUGAR. "I [previously] had to be at the gym every single day. If I wasn't, I was going to be a bear to deal with, and I've loosened the reins a lot more."

He added that he doesn't feel the need to have such physically taxing workouts anymore where he wants to fall to the ground from exhaustion. Although he still does CrossFit once or twice a week, he also does weight training and hot yoga nearly every day. If for some reason he can't make it to one of his workouts, he doesn't beat himself up about it.

It's a message he hopes to share with others who may be off their fitness game due to a chronic illness or injury, especially if you're used to being so physically active. "Life is all about change and evolution, and you've got to be able to go on this new journey as gracefully as possible and with information," he said.

We agree! Although eating well and being physically active are important for overall health, if you can't make a workout or need to take a break, it's not the end of the world. Cut yourself some slack and get back to your routine as soon as you feel up to it.

If You're Going Through a Hard Time, Aly Raisman Has an Encouraging Message For You

At the 2018 Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Nov. 11, Glamour honored Aly Raisman, the sister survivors, Judge Rosemarie Aquilina, assistant attorney general Angela Povilaitis, and police detective lieutenant Andrea Munford.

Testimonies from Aly and the rest of the survivors who came forward had an integral role in former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State doctor Larry Nassar's 175-year sentence for sexual abuse.

In a joint acceptance speech, Aly said, "I am so inspired by the brave and powerful women on stage with me tonight and I would like to thank them for everything they have done." She added, "Amazing things happen when women support women." Aly continued her message, encouraging the audience to "Make kindness and empathy your superpower."

In a recent Instagram post, Aly shared a portion of her speech for her followers. "For anyone going through a hard time, I want you to know I believe in you. Your story matters and it deserves to be heard," she said.

"Sometimes when you speak up people may try to silence you - don't let them. I know it's hard, but I encourage you to keep fighting until you find someone who will listen and believe you."

If you are a survivor of sexual assault and need help and resources, please call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 800.656.HOPE (4673).

You Can Thank These Songs For Getting You Through All Your 2018 Workouts

If you're one of those people who can't imagine working out without music but have grown tired of all your current playlists, we have good news: 2018 brought the jams! Tunes from Justin Timberlake, Cardi B, and Taylor Swift are our musical obsessions. Sprinkle in viral hits like "Lemon" (the song Serena Williams couldn't help but twerk to), and you have one banger of a gym playlist with the best of the year.

This Form of Strength Training Could Be the Secret to Finally Unlocking Those Booty Gains

One thing's for sure: whatever your goals in the gym are, you'll never run out of ways to achieve them. There's always some new method or fitness program gaining popularity. One is a specific type of weightlifting known as high-volume training.

Simply put, "high volume" means more reps and sets, and it's an effective way to cut body fat and build muscle - particularly for larger muscle groups, like the glutes, said Regis Pagett, an NASM-certified personal trainer in New York City. "High-volume training is almost an answer to cardio," he told POPSUGAR. "If you don't like running, try doing four sets of squats with weights, completing 15 to 20 reps per set. After the second set, you'll feel like you're running."

While high-volume training is regularly associated with bodybuilding, you don't have to be an expert to try it. Pagett recommends starting with lighter weights and adding more resistance as you grow stronger. "The most important part of any workout is having good form, so focus on slow and controlled movements," he said. His go-to exercises? Squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts, deep squats, and squat jumps.

How Many Calories Are in a Typical Thanksgiving Dinner? We Investigate

If you would prefer to move forward with Thanksgiving totally oblivious to the nutritional facts in all your favorite foods, turn back now! Although the notorious eating holiday is the best excuse for a cheat day or two (hello, leftovers!), you might still want to be conscious of the dishes you should go a little easier on.

We broke down the typical Thanksgiving plate so you can keep in mind where to go easy and where to double up! As you can see the total calories can range, depending on what you choose, the specific recipe, and how any servings you have of each. In previous years, the Calorie Control Council has reported that a typical Thanksgiving meal will run about 4,500 calories. That being said, it's a celebratory meal - and one meal will unlikely derail you from a healthy lifestyle, say experts.

The Simple Way This Woman Lost Her First 70 Pounds (No Gym Involved!)

If 25-year-old Alex Baca were to give advice to anyone trying to lose it weight, she'd keep it super simple: "Track your food." It was tracking everything she ate on an app called Lose It! that jump-started her weight loss and led her to shed 125 pounds since February 2017.

Alex was fresh out of college and nearing the 350-pound mark when she hit a turning point. "It had been years since I'd looked at the scale, and I was in shock. I was depressed after college, couldn't find a job, and was unsure of what was next for me. I knew if there was going to be a time for me to make a major lifestyle change, the time would be now," she told POPSUGAR.

She started with only tracking her food and cutting out everything processed. About eight months later, after losing more than 70 pounds, she began adding in workouts and found out that the gym isn't such a scary place and can even be fun. Since starting her weight-loss journey, Alex has learned a lot about meal-prepping and creating healthy recipes - and now she's helping her friends too. "I've started virtually meal prepping for friends now by creating grocery lists and recipes for the week for them and cheering them on through Lose It!, as part of their daily motivation," she said.

Keep reading for more about Alex's weight loss and to find out exactly what she keeps stocked in her kitchen to satisfy all her cravings.

Are Makeup Wipes Causing Your Breakouts? We Asked the Pros

With so many makeup-removal options on the shelves of drugstores and beauty stores everywhere, it's almost impossible to know which method is the most effective. Do you choose to go liquid cleanser, wipes, cleansing oil, or just plain water? Do you use a different cleanser for your eyes than you do for your skin, or can you use the same product for your entire face? It's difficult to tell what actually gets all of your makeup off and leaves your face feeling clean (but not too dry!), so it's easy to default to the most convenient and stress-free option: makeup wipes.

I'll be entirely honest: I never really got into using makeup wipes. My skin has always had a bad reaction to them, so I've opted to use gentler options that are more suited to sensitive skin instead. However, plenty of my makeup-loving friends - as well as some beauty experts whom I deeply admire and respect - use makeup wipes on a regular basis, so I figure makeup wipes must be doing some good. My main question remains: Do they really work? And if they do, are they good for your skin? I decided to have a few skincare experts chime in with their opinions - here's what they had to say.

Rihanna Has Been Wearing Fenty Beauty in Her Music Videos This Whole Time - I'm Shook

Rihanna's sultry glances into the camera, the fireworks, the (adorable) Asahd Khaled cameo - these were all distractions. What you may have not noticed while watching the "Wild Thoughts" music video is that Rihanna was previewing her Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored ($24) and Moroccan Spice Eyeshadow Palette ($59). She revealed this info in her newest Tutorial Tuesday post.

It made us wonder: What other beauty products could Rihanna have quietly snuck into her music videos? This may be pure speculation, but judging by the many beauty looks she's had in music videos since 2015 - when she first admitted to working on a beauty line - it's definitely a possibility. Keep reading to see beauty looks from her most recent videos and what we think might have been clues to future Fenty Beauty drops.

55 Beauty Gifts (Under $50) to Grab Before They're Gone

Every year the ante is upped on the gifting front, and this season is certainly no exception. No matter where you fall on the spectrum (novice or pro), a beauty gift is a winning bet. If your bestie's idea of a productive weekend is spiraling deep into Instagram makeup feeds, or if you know someone who really needs some old-fashioned R&R, there's a gift to suit. And with this mix of options, that are as bomb as they are budget-friendly, you may even have a little left over to pick something out for yourself. Holiday happiness starts right here.

You Won't Believe What Went Into Creating the Whimsical Hairstyles For The Nutcracker

Whether or not you've seen The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, you'll no doubt have noticed the character's vibrant and unique hairstyles. During an immersive dinner with Disney to celebrate The Nutcracker, I quizzed the film's leading actress, Mackenzie Foy, on all things hair and makeup, and it turns out a lot more went into those hairstyles than it seems.

When it comes to makeup, Foy told me she didn't wear much makeup in the film - just a little concealer and blush - due to the Victorian time period. However, minimal beauty was pushed aside when it came to the land of the Four Realms, as stepping into their world came with equally fantastic hair and costume. Foy said curling her hair would take an hour and a half to two hours, so she would braid her hair in the morning beforehand so it could easily be put into a bun by the hairstylists. However, for the pageant, Foy explained, "they actually wrapped my hair around wires," which was twisted up with ribbons and pearls as embellishment. Talk about commitment to getting that updo right.

As for the Sugar Plum Fairy, played by Keira Knightley, the hair absolutely made the character. Misty Copeland, principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, said the beauty department at first toyed with the idea of making Knightley's wig out of pure candy floss but quickly realized that just wasn't possible. So instead, they settled on a candy pink wig with pieces of candy floss slotted throughout so Knightley could easily give the impression that the Sugar Plum Fairy was eating her own hair.

Ahead, get a closer look at the whimsical hairstyles from the movie.

Michelle Obama and Ellen DeGeneres Went to Costco Together, 'Cause That's What Friends Do

Michelle Obama and Ellen DeGeneres are at it again. The former first lady and talk show host are known for their push-up contests, their witty banter, and their occasional trips to the store together. Remember back in 2016 when they wreaked havoc on a CVS? Well, Michelle and Ellen are back to their old tricks but this time they're giving Costco a try.

In a preview for the Nov. 15 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the two walk together through the aisles as Michelle spots her book Becoming in a store for the first time. Some very lucky fans have the opportunity to get their copy signed by the powerhouse woman herself, as Ellen sings and plays the keyboard alongside them! I'm sure there are plenty more pranks and jokes we can expect between Michelle and Ellen during the full show.

These Country Stars Laughed Off Some Pretty Brutal Disses in the Latest "Mean Tweets" Video

The biggest names in country music made appearances at the CMA Awards on Nov. 14. While these musicians may have been celebrated on stage, they certainly took some hits following the show during a brutal session of Jimmy Kimmel Live's "Mean Tweets." In the video, Dierks Bentley receives some tough criticism from a concert-goer, Lauren Alaina learns she drove a listener to tears, and Kacey Musgraves reads a harsh message about her outfit. The Queen Lightly Roasts Prince Charles About His Age in a Sweet 70th Birthday Toast

Prince Charles celebrated his 70th birthday with a fun family bash at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday that brought out his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, and their respective wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle. The event was also attended, of course, by Charles's mom, Queen Elizabeth II, who gave a lighthearted and sentimental speech about her firstborn heir. "It is a privilege for any mother to be able to propose a toast to her son on his 70th birthday; it means that you have lived long enough to see your child grow up," her majesty said, then alluded to Charles's well-known love of gardening and the environment: "It is rather like - to use an analogy I am certain will find favor - planting a tree and being able to watch it grow."

No stranger to throwing out a savage one-liner, the queen continued with a clever joke inspired by her own mom, the queen mother. "My mother saw me turn 70, of course. And she was heard to observe that 70 is exactly the age when the number of candles on your cake finally exceeds the amount of breath you have to blow them out." Classic!

"Over his 70 years, Philip and I have seen Charles become a champion of conservation and the arts, a great charitable leader, a dedicated and respected heir to the throne - to stand comparison with any in history - and a wonderful father," the queen went on. "Most of all, sustained by his wife, Camilla, he is his own man, passionate and creative. So this toast is to wish a happy birthday to my son, in every respect a duchy original. To you, Charles. To the Prince of Wales." By the way, Duchy Originals is the leading organic UK food brand that Charles founded in 1990, which gives all its profits to charitable causes.

While the queen was able to toast her son at his party, she was noticeably absent from the recent family photos taken to commemorate Charles's big milestone. It's alleged that she may have opted to give Charles the spotlight and introduce him and his family as the next generation of the British monarchy. In honor of Charles's birthday and the queen's sweet speech, scroll through for a few of their cutest photos together.

The CMA Awards went down on Wednesday night, and it looked like a nonstop party. Not only was it jam-packed with incredible performances, but the show also brought out some of country music's biggest and brightest stars. Cohosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley cracked a few jokes on stage, while Nicole Kidman adorably danced and sang along when her husband, Keith Urban, took the stage. Plus, there were quite a few cute red carpet moments. See some of the best pictures from the show ahead.

Jessie J Seemingly Confirms Her Romance With Channing Tatum in Flirty Instagram Post

Jessie J and Channing Tatum may be keeping their romance low-key, but that certainly didn't stop the singer from supporting her beau at the opening night of his Magic Mike show in London on Saturday. Over the weekend, Jessie posted a photo featuring several shirtless guys on stage on her Instagram stories. "Magic Mike London Opening night," she wrote, adding a bunch of bicep emojis and an eggplant one. She then took things a step further and personally congratulated Channing and encouraged fans to watch the show. "Congratulations @channingtatum what a show . . . Ladies and Gentlemen you don't want to miss this."

While Channing may not be one of the dancers in the show, he does serve as a producer and starred in the original films, Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL.

News first broke that Jessie and Channing are dating in October, though the two have reportedly been seeing each other for a few months now. "It's a new thing for them and too early to see if it will go anywhere," People previously reported. "For now they are having fun and getting to know each other." It was also recently reported that Channing took his 5-year-old daughter Everly to one of Jessie's concerts in LA. So, was this Instagram post Jessie's way of casually confirming her romance with Channing? We'll let you decide.

Aww! Nicole Kidman Adorably Sings Along During Keith Urban's CMAs Performance

Keith Urban gave an electric performance during the CMAs on Wednesday night, but no one was more proud than his wife, Nicole Kidman. As the country singer performed "Never Comin Down" on stage, the Big Little Lies actress was spotted swaying and singing along in the audience. Aww! Whether they're walking the red carpet or swooning over each other during award shows, we can't get enough of this adorable couple. See Urban's performance (and Kidman's reaction) ahead.

This Ballet Dancer's Choreography to Hozier's New Song Is Hauntingly Beautiful

It's been three years since the "Take Me to Church" music video captured the internet's imagination, and now, musician Hozier and ballet superstar Sergei Polunin are back at it with another video that will grip your attention. The pair collaborated on the music video for Hozier's newest track, "Movement," which just dropped today. (You can watch "Movement" on YouTube here.)

In the video, Polunin is tormented by multiple versions of himself. While the gritty style and high concept of "Movement" offer a major departure from the light-filled beauty and straightforward story of "Take Me to Church," Polunin's passion and power are just as electric this time around. The new video notably gives Polunin, who's appeared in four movies since "Take Me to Church" helped him gain notoriety outside the ballet world, a chance to demonstrate his acting talents. It's also likely the inspiration for the video went both ways; Hozier's lyrics reference movement both literal and figurative, including a woman dancing like "Fred Astaire in sequins," as Polunin interprets his song through ballet.

Hozier's second album will be released sometime next year, according to Billboard. In the meantime, keep reading to see some of our favorite moments from the video.

Kacey Musgraves's CMAs Win Is an Important Reminder to Never Give Up on Your Dreams

On Wednesday night, Kacey Musgraves took home her first album of the year win at the CMAs. While accepting her award for Golden Hour, the singer got a little emotional as she explained that "10 years ago today, I moved to Nashville." She detailed her anniversary even further on social media, writing, "Ten years ago TODAY, I moved to Nashville. 10 years of immeasurable learning and growth. I'm so grateful for this place & the souls in it who have shown me some kindness and support along the way. And if I really think about it any more right now I'll f*ck up this mascara." Her win is just an incredible reminder to never give up on your dreams. See a clip from her acceptance speech ahead.

The Dumbo Trailer Will Make You Tear Up - But What Else Would You Expect?

Disney is in the midst of remaking a ton of our favorite classics and among them is Dumbo, the tale of a baby elephant with ears so big he can fly. While many are unsure whether the classics need to be remade, there's no denying the new trailer for Dumbo looks as cute as it does entertaining. Think The Greatest Showman with less singing and more adorable elephant antics.

The remake is directed by Tim Burton, so promises to be weird and wonderful. The cast includes Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito, Michael Keaton, and Eva Green. This is guaranteed to be entertaining and heartwarming for both those enjoying the story for the first time, and those reliving a familiar tale from childhood. Check out the official trailer now, ahead of the movie's release on March 29.

We Can't Get Over How Much Prince Charles Looks Like Harry in These Throwback Photos

Prince Charles is 70 years old! To celebrate his milestone birthday, Clarence House released a video that compiled throwback photos spanning from his childhood to the present day, and it looks like the Prince of Wales experimented with facial hair back in his late 20s.

As soon as we caught a glimpse of Charles sporting some serious scruff in the montage, we immediately did a double take, because he looked just like his younger son, Prince Harry, who's been rocking the unshaven look for quite some time now. The father-son duo may not resemble each other these days, seeing as Charles now opts for a clean-shaven look, but it's simply uncanny to see how much they look alike with facial hair.

See just how much the scruffy royals resemble each other ahead, and then be sure to check out the adorable new portraits the royal family released in honor of Charles's 70th birthday.

Migos Reenacted a Dramatic Scene From Narcos, and Now We Need a Spinoff ASAP

File this under "Something We Never Knew We Needed": Migos reenacting a dramatic scene from the new season of Narcos.

The rap trio, who recently appeared on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke, stopped by Netflix to see what Michael Peña's new role in season four, Narcos: Mexico, is all about. Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff read lines from a tense scene in the script, which sees Peña's undercover DEA agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena trying to get more product from a drug lord's henchmen.

Naturally they couldn't help but giggle a few times - yes, the members of Migos giggle - as they worked their way through the scene. Even though we know the new season of the drama hits Netflix on Nov. 16, we kind of want a new spinoff starring Migos (Narcos: Stir Fry has a nice ring to it, no?). Watch their interpretation of the series above!

A Cop Sang "I Want It That Way" From His Patrol Car's Intercom, and We Can't Stop Watching

No matter who you are or where you're from, it's clear that nobody can resist the Backstreet Boys. After dropping their new "Chances" music video last week, the Backstreet Boys announced a world tour and a new album, and it seems we weren't the only ones excited about the news. Over the weekend, NYPD officer Richard Gunther delighted nearby onlookers by putting on a show from his patrol car and singing "I Want It That Way" over the intercom. As Richard sat in the car with his partner, New Yorkers were seen capturing the epic moment on their phones and one woman was even heard saying, "That's going viral for sure."

Instagram user Jordan Haskins, the man who posted the video, wrote, "The NYPD absolutely nailed it today. So cool to see the humanity in our law enforcement. A small thing like this can really give you some hope in such uncertain times." The officer, of course, caught wind of the video and replied, "Thank you for taking and posting this video! I'm so glad I can entertain everyone. Feels great interacting with the community and seeing all the smiles/laughs! You guys are the best!"

Troye Sivan's Impression of Michael Bublé Is So Good, It's Almost Scary

Michael Bublé recently shot down retirement rumors, but if he does ever decide to hang up his mic for good, we know the perfect person to take over for him: Troye Sivan. Although the Australian pop star's singing style doesn't have much in common with the Canadian crooner, his recent impression of Bublé has us (and his legions of fans) cracking up with the accuracy.

To celebrate Ariana Grande's massive hit "Thank U, Next" reaching the top of the charts, Sivan - who collaborated with her on the song "Dance to This" - posted a 10-second clip of him singing her song in Bublé's voice. "Thank you, next," he repeats in a deep voice. "Because I'm so f*cking grateful for my ex." Who knew Troye Sivan impersonating Michael Bublé singing Ariana Grande would be our new favorite song?! Watch it ahead, then see how Grande herself reacted to the hilarious video.

Carrie Underwood Sends a Powerful Message With Her CMAs Performance: "Love Wins"

Carrie Underwood's voice never ceases to amaze us. During the CMA Awards on Wednesday night, the country singer brought down the house with her powerful performance of "Love Wins." Underwood, who is expecting her second child, looked absolutely stunning as she donned a blue dress with a rainbow-colored cape and belted out the lyrics on stage. Even her husband, Mike Fisher, looked spellbound by her performance.

Tyler Hubbard and his wife Hayley were all dolled up for the CMA Awards on Wednesday night, but it was their daughter Olivia who really stole the spotlight. The couple, who tied the knot in 2015, brought along their little girl for the country music award show. The family of three was all smiles as they posed for the cameras on the red carpet. At one point, Tyler and Hayley gave their daughter a kiss on the head.

The Florida Georgia Line singer and his wife welcomed Olivia last December, and have been giving us sweet glimpses of their little girl ever since. See their adorable family outing ahead!

If You Actually Believed Kourtney Was the "Least Interesting" Kardashian, Where Have You Been This Year?

Remember when Kim Kardashian called Kourtney "the least interesting to look at?" There's just one tiny problem with that: Have you seen her Instagram? Between her sultry selfies and her screen-fogging bikini snaps, we'd actually say this might be Kourtney's sexiest year yet! The mother of three also seems to be enjoying the single life following her split from Younes Bendjima in August. The 39-year-old reality TV star was most recently linked to 20-year-old actor Luka Sabbat, though it appears they're just friends. If 2018 is any indication of what Kourtney has in store for us in 2019, let's take what we have left of it to prepare ourselves.

We Have Roughly 600 Questions About This New Idris Elba Doll, and So Does the Internet

Since we can't seem to have one quiet week without something ridiculous happening, this collection of days has been brought to you by a very unfortunate new doll that's supposed to be Idris Elba. Yes, the beautiful actor only just became People's Sexiest Man Alive, but you know what they say: every action has an equal and opposite reaction. In this case, it's a 17-inch figurine, reportedly created by a British handcrafted doll manufacturer named Emperis. (We couldn't find the doll on their site, but given the nature of this news event, you can probably venture a guess as to why that is.) Oh, and it's apparently being priced at $1,100 (£850)?!

Naturally, as the internet is wont to do, the doll was quickly turned into a social media conversation. Most commentators were simply trying to figure out who the doll looks like, since it's decidedly not Idris Elba. Solid ideas included Aladdin's villain Jafar, Montel Williams, and William from This Is Us. But the most popular suggestion was Romany Malco, best known for his roles in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Think Like a Man, and Night School. He was so inundated with tweets that he actually responded, several times over. We still have no word from Idris, though. In the meantime, you can see what Romany and the rest of the internet shade-masters had to say.

The Poster For the A Child's Play Remake Contains Some Horrifying Clues About the New Chucky

Everyone's favorite homicidal doll is ready for a play date! Thirty years after the release of Tom Holland's Child's Play in 1988, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer has fast-tracked a remake. According to The Hollywood Reporter, MGM has tapped Polaroid filmmaker Lars Klevberg to direct the horror reboot with video game writer Tyler Burton Smith on board to handle the script.

Child's Play was the first of a seven-movie franchise that told the story of Chucky, a toy doll possessed by the soul of a serial killer. If you've seen the film, you no doubt remember the chills that shot down your spine when he first uttered his iconic phrase, "Hi, I'm Chucky. Wanna play?" Chucky then goes on a murderous rampage in an attempt to kill a single mom and her son so he can jump into the son's body before he becomes trapped inside the doll permanently. Obviously he fails, and the movies only get bloodier and more ridiculous with each entry. Though, honestly, the addition of Chucky's wife and kids is definitely an interesting twist to your regular killer doll series.

The new movie will be a true reboot, with Parks and Rec's Aubrey Plaza starring as single mom Karen Barclay, Gabriel Bateman as her son Andy, and Atlanta's Brian Tyree Henry appearing as Detective Norris. To celebrate the updated edition of the horror flick, which began filming in Vancouver this September, Plaza shared the first poster. Warning: it's just as creepy as expected.

If you've seen the original, then you'll no doubt recognize Chucky's ominous box. However, if you look closely, there are a few changes. For instance, the toy brand seems to have been changed from "Good Guys" to "Buddi." Also, it looks like there's a wi-fi symbol above the "i" in Buddi, which leads us to think the internet will play a part in this version of Chucky's possession (on the side of the box, you can even see instructions about connecting Chucky to a tablet, remote, or laptop).

It producers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith will also work on the project, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 21, 2019, which just so happens to be the same release date as another toy-related film. Because of course.

We Are a Puddle of Tears After Watching Marvel Studios' Tribute to Stan Lee

"There will never be a world without Stan Lee. He's the heart of the Marvel Universe."

We all said goodbye to a true superhero this week and Marvel Studios is paying tribute with a touching video that celebrates the legacy he leaves behind. The tribute - posted on Tuesday from Marvel Entertainment's official YouTube page - features footage of Lee throughout the years, as well as interviews with those who are part of the Marvel Comics brand.

Lee, who died at age 95 on Monday, co-created some of the most well-known comic heroes in the world and was one of the most influential voices in the comic book industry. Working with various artists, including frequent partner Jack Kirby, Lee co-created characters such as the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and more. As the tribute explains, Lee's comic creations did more than just introduce exciting characters and storylines to Marvel Comics.

"Stan's best creation was always Stan," executive editor Tom Brevoort explains. "Stan . . . was somehow able to tap into his own larger-than-life, self-effacing, and self-aggrandizing at the same time personality."

It was his capacity to create comics with relatable characters that made his titles stand out among any others. His heroes were brave and strong, but most of all, they were human. One bit of footage from the tribute shows Lee explaining his decision to create characters that were complex and flawed rather than the images of perfection that were previously standard. "Even if they have superpower, they have to be believable," Lee says. "What they do has to be what any normal person would do in those situations."

"I wanted [readers] to feel like buying a Marvel book was like visiting an old friend," Lee explains in another interview.

As Marvel Comics began telling their stories on different mediums, expanding to television and movies, Lee became more of a public figurehead. He went from creating the stories behind the scenes to appearing at conventions, playing active roles in TV adaptations, and eventually being known for his numerous cameos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His work spans several generations and changed how people saw comics and the world.

As Vice President of Content and Character Development Sana Amanat says, "His ideology was very clear, it was very black-and-white: Lean into the light as much as you can, even if there's darkness all around you."

10 Times Kate and Will Took a Page Out of Meghan and Harry's PDA Playbook This Year

Prince William and Kate Middleton aren't known for being an overly lovey-dovey couple in public. While the future king and queen haven't completely shied away from showing their love for each other - they've been known to hold hands and share an embrace every once in a while - they typically keep PDA to a minimum; contrary to popular belief, there actually isn't any formal rule that discourages Kate and Will, rather, since they are "working representatives of British Monarchy," they've preferred to keep it to a minimum (similar to the queen and Prince Philip).

But a fresh new royal couple seems to be shaking things up in more ways than one. Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped on the scene with their abundant displays of supersweet PDA, it seems like Kate and Will have become more comfortable expressing themselves as a couple this year, too. Even with reports of the fab four creating distance from a work perspective, the Cambridges may have let some of Harry and Meghan's "touchy-feely" vibes rub off on them. Scroll through for Kate and Will's cutest PDA moments this year.

Forget the Pie and Make These Brie and Fig Bites Instead!

I don't know where I was or what I was looking for, but I stumbled upon a Joy the Baker recipe that sent my heart in a flutter of wild palpitations. It involved puff pastry, brie, and preserves, and I knew I had to create my own version.

Instead of puff pastry, I opted to use pie crust. I envisioned creating little Pop-Tarts pastries, filled with brie and fig preserves. Rather than cut the rectangular shapes by hand, I used a round cookie cutter, because it makes for an easier, faster prep than measuring and hand-cutting the dough squares.

Pie dough thaws fast, so you really need to cut it quickly and throw the pieces back into the fridge to firm up before stuffing and closing them.

The round shape, fork crimping, and "X" on the top give the impression that these are miniature pies! Upon biting into the flaky, layered crust, the salty brie and sweet fig preserves ooze out. It was everything my fluttering heart had hoped for, and these bites disappeared quicker than they were made. Now it's your turn to make these adorable brie bites.

Anyone Who Has Terribly Behaved Pets Absolutely Needs This Christmas Tree Cage

How to protect the Christmas tree from cats

Not this year....

Posted by Life is Good on Monday, November 12, 2018

As a person who already has the Christmas music station on at work, I revel in the time I get to spend decorating my apartment for the holiday. I recently pulled all my Christmas decorations out of the closet - two full weeks late! - and started sprucing up my space with holiday cheer. After cursing my fiancé for making me wait so long to put them up, I scampered off to bed to count sugarplums.

It was 2 a.m. when I realized I really f*cked up. I immediately woke up to the sound of glass hitting the floor, ran to the living room, and saw my two 11-month-old cats - Mrs. Dumbledore and Gandalf - scaling the tree with all my not-very-expensive ornaments at the foot of the tree. Yup, those two birds knocked every single bulb off the lower branches of my fake Christmas tree.

But you know what could've prevented the hours of cat "hockey" I heard at 2 a.m.? This ridiculously easy hack for your Christmas tree. All you do is take a dog cage, flip it on its side, and voilà! You've got yourself a tree cage that protects your holiday spirit from the most notorious offenders. Read: cats, dogs, and little kids alike. Oh, how I wish I figured this out before putting my own tree up!

Parents, Please Don't Give Your Kids a Puppy on Christmas Morning

Nothing compares to watching the excitement on your kids' faces when they open their gifts on Christmas morning. They eagerly rip open the boxes and their eyes instantly light up when they see that Santa has brought them the thing they've wanted more than anything. And for some on Christmas morning, that means a puppy. Those lovable creatures, with their floppy ears and giant feet, are a guaranteed hit. I mean, who wouldn't want a puppy? They're a great addition to any family. But just because everyone loves them doesn't mean they should be given as gifts. Keep reading for why you shouldn't give a puppy as a gift on Christmas morning, and how to safely bring one home if you do get one during the holiday season.

1. Christmas Is Too Overwhelming

Christmas is a notoriously hectic day. From opening gifts to cooking to having family over or going to someone else's house, Christmas just isn't the time to introduce a tiny puppy into your home and family. Kids, especially little kids, can also get emotional, scream, or grab at the puppy, which could scare them. This is especially true if your new pet isn't house trained yet. Getting a new animal on Christmas will add a whole new level of stress for you and for the puppy.

Dog expert Cesar Millan points out: "You've just thrown [them] into a completely alien environment with no direction, and these early associations are going to stick. The place is unfamiliar, it smells different, and there doesn't seem to be any way out." Unless you're going to stop the whole Christmas gift-giving process and devote your whole day to the dog, chances are you're going to really stress out your new pup.

2. Pets Are Family Members

Living, breathing creatures like puppies and kittens aren't toys - they're new members of the family that will require love and attention for the next 9 to 15 years. Puppies should require a great amount of thought and preparation. They need a fleet of supplies, from crates and beds to food and toys, and they need the time and space to acclimate to their new things and home.

3. Children Might Want to Have a Say

When I've adopted animals in the past, the shelter workers always ask if every member of the family is present and OK with the adoption of a pet. One shelter wouldn't even let me adopt my pup until I brought my roommate in to confirm that she was on board. Largely, this process should hold true for kids. If you're expecting children to love and take care of a puppy for the next decade at least, they should have some say in which puppy they get, otherwise this is just a gift for you, and that's not the way gifts work.

4. Instead, Plan a Family Trip

That being said, you can still "give a puppy" for Christmas. Instead of putting a puppy in a box or stocking, give your kid the puppy toys, the crate, or a leash. Explain to them what this gift means, and that they'll be able to help pick out and rescue their new pet. They'll feel more invested in the process because they get to help. As part of your gift, pick a day as a family to go look at puppies, and after Christmas has died down, come up with a plan. This way, your family is happy and prepared, and a puppy has the best shot at adjusting to their new home and family with ease.
