This Hilarious Mom Gets Stuck in a Pair of Jeggings and Decides She'll Have to Just "Live and Die in Them"

The foul-mouthed mom behind Knee Deep in Life who got stuck in a pair of Spanx earlier this year is back with some very relatable retail woes. After going into a store and trying on a pair of jeggings that fit her, she returned the following day to purchase a different pair in the same size. Common sense told her that the jeans should fit - they were the same size - but oh was she wrong.

In a new video she shared, she described the process of trying to get the pants on as "two pigs fighting to get in a plastic bag," and just as you've finished crying over her antics, she miraculously gets the pants on! Will she ever get them off? According to her, she'll be living and dying in them.

The struggle is real, and we applaud her!

I Leave Our Christmas Decorations Up Until February on Purpose

I may not be the first to the holiday decorating party, but you better believe I'll be the last to leave it. While I'm not the mom that busts out every festive piece of garland and string of lights the day after Halloween - or even Thanksgiving for that matter - I am the one who leaves the decorations up the longest. And this year will be no different. Aside from the obvious fact that I'm lazy, I like letting our mistletoe hang longer than most people because, well, it keeps me in holiday spirit and helps me fight the Winter blues. So, I plan on leaving all of the decorations, even the (fake) tree, up until February.

Once I get my Santa Claus figurines out and the Christmas tree decorated, I'm filled with holiday cheer. I blast the Christmas music in both the house and car, make hot chocolate regularly, and even throw away most of my screen time rules in favor of classic Christmas movie marathons. I even let Elf on the Shelf take over our home. But once the big day and the big guy comes and goes, we're often left feeling deflated. We're tired from everything that the holiday season took out of us and we're a little depressed that it's all over.

Plus, we live in a state where Winter seems to last forever once Christmas is over, and it's relentless. The post-holiday blues get even worse when we have a solid three more months of freezing temperatures and being stuck inside. So, if leaving our holiday decorations up longer will help keep our spirits up, then I'm more than fine with that. Plus, it's always a fun conversation starter for anyone who comes over. "Umm, isn't it Valentine's Day?" they joke. "Yes," I'll respond, "but we still need holiday cheer inside when the outside is so miserable!"

There will be days when I look outside and see two feet of freshly fallen snow. We won't be able to leave the house because the roads simply aren't safe enough to drive on. But I'll be able to stare at the twinkle of the bulbs on the still-standing Christmas tree. I'll be able to see the remnants of the holiday scattered throughout our home, and it will keep me in a cozy mood for a little while longer. Well, at least until the snow starts to melt.

This Is What Celebrating the Holidays Is Like After You Lose Your Extended Family

There's a scene in Home Alone where Kevin is heading home to do battle with the Wet Bandits. On the way, he stops for a moment in front of a packed house whose owners are in the midst of welcoming even more relatives for a festive gathering. He gazes longingly at the house as John Williams' "Somewhere In My Memory" plays in the background. It's obvious that he's missing his own family while likely remembering Christmases past when his own house was as happy and lively as the one he's standing in front of. It's a sad scene in an otherwise humorous Christmas classic and one that I'm all too familiar with.

We started new traditions of our own, but I could never shake the sadness that came along with knowing that what we once had was gone for good.

Once upon a time, my Christmases were spent with a houseful of people. Each year, my parents would pack us up and make the two-hour trek to New York for Christmas at my grandmother's house. As a kid, it was round two of opening presents and getting to see and play with my baby cousins. Now, as an adult, I look back and know that all of my happy memories are because the holiday was spent in a house filled with family. It was getting to spend an entire day (or two if I was really lucky and got to sleep over) with my beloved grandmother. It was seeing my aunts, playing with my cousins, and having two of my mom's jovial brothers play pranks on me and the other kids. Of course there were the occasional spats between siblings and the rantings of the crazy and unpredictable uncle, but for the most part, they were wonderful.

When my grandmother died 10 years ago, our once close-knit family disintegrated. Some of my family moved down south, the black sheep were excommunicated, and others just kind of disappeared with no real explanation. We stopped traveling to New York and spent Christmas Day in our own quiet home. Spending the holidays with my parents and brother was fine because they were my family, and we started new traditions of our own, but I could never shake the sadness that came along with knowing that what we once had was gone for good.

Three years ago, while my husband and I were living down in Florida, I hosted Christmas for my parents and the small group of family members who had also relocated. It was the first time in I don't know how many years that all of us were together again, and my cousins and I quickly dubbed it as one of the best holidays we had all had in years. It's one that we all intended on repeating, even after my family moved back up north. But after one of our uncles died by suicide last year, just a few days before Christmas, we knew that it would never happen again. And now, the photo that had become an instant family favorite is the very definition of bittersweet.

Holidays spent in a houseful of family are undoubtedly hectic. But, for the most part, it's a beautiful type of chaos that is damn near impossible to re-create or replace and one you may not appreciate until it's gone. Making memories with your family is one of the best pleasures that this life has to offer and one of the best gifts you can give your children. Memories of my busy childhood Christmases, craziness and all, are now the main reason why, when someone asks me if my husband and I are finished having children, I smile and think, well, maybe just one more.

Barack Obama Made Thanksgiving Meals at a Food Bank and Left Young Volunteers Awestruck

Former president Barack Obama showed gratitude this Thanksgiving by volunteering at the Greater Chicago Food Depository on Nov. 20. His turkey-pardoning days may be through, but he celebrated the giving season in a special way. In partnership with his nonprofit organization, The Obama Foundation, the former president lent a helping hand to the food bank and gave his fellow volunteers something to smile about. "They do great work making sure those who aren't as fortunate are able to enjoy the kind of Thanksgiving meal that so many of us take for granted," he said of the food depository.

Obama's visit definitely left an impression on a few young volunteers. In an especially sweet moment, he hugged two girls before saying, "You guys are doing such a great job . . . I'm so proud of you." Check out the video below to see their full reaction to his praise; it's pretty priceless.

This Instant Pot Butternut Squash Soup Is Everything You Love About Fall in 1 Recipe

Fall soups can be so satisfying for weeknight dinners and so impressive at holiday gatherings. This recipe for butternut squash soup made in an Instant Pot will impress everyone seated around your table. The best part? It's just a handful of ingredients and will be ready in 30 minutes or less depending on your chopping speed. You'll want to select a smaller squash at the market for this recipe, and I highly recommend some toasted baguette or country bread for dipping.

As an added bonus, this delicious soup itself just happens to be gluten-free (depending on the broth you use, of course) and dairy-free, and it can be made vegan (again, depending on the broth), so it's a good dish to have on hand if you're having guests over who might have restrictions. Here are all the steps to make it.

Ezra Miller Breaks His Silence on THAT Fantastic Beasts Reveal: "I Was Shocked"

Love it or hate it, there's one thing you can't deny about Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. It has people talking. Avid fans of J.K. Rowling's ever-expanding wizarding world are up in arms about the second installment in the five-movie series. There are all kinds of issues with the presence of Minerva McGonagall, there's an utter void when it comes to Albus Dumbledore's sexuality, and that's really just the tip of the iceberg. But there's one reveal (the film's biggest twist) that really has us all scratching our heads: according to Grindelwald, Credence Barebone is actually a Dumbledore.

Forget the fact that Albus only has one confirmed brother and one ill-fated sister in the Harry Potter books; anything can happen in a world that's been imbued with magic and mysticism! Of course, everyone's going wild trying to figure out what in the hell is going on. Luckily for us, a new Ezra Miller interview is giving a bit more insight into the reveal.

"I was shocked, stunned, confused, 'petrificus totalus' with wonder and fascination," he said, referring to the moment he first learned about his true identity. "I still have a lot of questions for which I have no answers." Here's something interesting, though: Miller seems inclined to believe that Credence - er, Aurelius - really is a Dumbledore, and that it's not some kind of lying or falsified information. "[J.K. Rowling] knows the mythology so well and I think she's into confounding you for a moment and having a fan go, 'Wait that can't make sense!' and then showing you how things you thought couldn't make sense make sense. I think she enjoys people not getting it for a second. She's done it to us a bunch of times."

So, basically, from the sound of it, this is real, this is happening, and this is something that will presumably be explained in a later film. As a matter of fact, it may be the third film, still untitled, that gives us our answer. Miller did a bit of his own surmising along these lines: "If the question of the first film was what, and the question of this film was who, my prediction, if I'm making any, is that Aurelius's question in the next film will be: why."

He's of course referring to his own character's big questions: in the first film, Credence knows there's something special about him, but he doesn't know what he is. This time, he's obsessed with finding out who he is. So, in the third film, it could be why: why his parents abandoned him, why his identity was taken away.

That still leaves one burning question. Well, actually, it still leaves quite a few burning questions, but he did address this one in the interview: does Dumbledore know about his supposed long-lost brother? "We truly do not know," Miller lamented, but then said, "Jude knows. But he won't tell you." Ugh! It's going to be a long wait until the third movie arrives.

Oh, Wow: After's First Trailer Basically Looks Like Fifty Shades of Grey For Teens

The first trailer for After has arrived, and readers of the One Direction fan fiction-turned-bestselling-novel are appropriately losing it.

The film is based on writer Anna Todd's story, which follows a dedicated college student (Josephine Langford) who falls for a standard issue bad boy - tons of tattoos! Brooding! Watching her while she sleeps! Making out with her in the rain! - named Hardin Scott (Hero Fiennes Tiffin). Originally the story was about Harry Styles - yes, that Harry Styles - when it debuted on Wattpad, and it quickly become a phenomenon with millions of passionate readers. Naturally the name of the male character had to be tweaked (although he still bears the same H.S. initials), but it seems the core plot remains.

John Legend Comes to Rita Ora's Defense After Her Thanksgiving Day Parade Lip Sync Fail

Rita Ora's performance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade ended up being one of the event's most talked about moments, but not for the reason she was likely hoping for.

In addition to jaw-dropping appearances from singers like Diana Ross and Kelly Clarkson (who sang a stunning rendition of "Heat" with a full band to back her up), Ora boarded a colorful float prepared to belt out her single "Let You Love Me" from her brand new album, Phoenix. Due to a technical gaffe and a missed cue, it quickly became clear that Ora was lip-syncing her vocals. In videos of the moment, it seems that the 27-year-old couldn't hear the song properly in her earpiece, so she didn't start singing until well after the track had begun:

Naturally a flurry of tweets about the cringeworthy moment flooded social media after her performance, but Ora definitely had support behind her. Macy's apologized to several recording artists on Twitter, noting that many "experienced technical difficulties that negatively impacted their performance" and that "these issues were out of the artist's control." John Legend also came to her defense with a tweet of his own. "Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade because the floats don't have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance," he explained. "Hope y'all enjoyed it anyway. Know that if you come to my shows, the vocals are 100 percent live!"

Ora tweeted thanks to Legend for supporting her, and then called the whole experience "annoying," clarifying that her shows "are 100 percent live always have been!" See a full breakdown of her slip-up at the parade ahead.

Evan Rachel Wood's Reaction to a Hypothetical Back to the Future Reboot Is Perfection

When The Hollywood Reporter conducted a poll seeing which classic film audiences would most want to see rebooted, Back to the Future apparently topped the list. If the mere thought of seeing new actors take on the roles of Christopher Lloyd's Doc Brown and Michael J. Fox's Marty McFly in the Robert Zemeckis-directed trilogy is enough to send you spinning back to 1955, you're definitely not alone. When Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood caught wind of the hypothetical reboot, she wasted no time in letting her Twitter followers know how she felt about it all:

"No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Nooooooo. NO. NO. NO. FUCK. NO. NO. AHHHHHH. NOOOOOOOO. PLEASE! No. No. No. No. No. No. I quit. No. No. No. *rips face off* No. No. No. No. No. No. No. I can keep going. No. No. No. We will march. No. No. AHHHHHH. No faith left in humanity. No. No."

Yeah, it's safe to say we agree with her, as does most of Twitter. See the best responses to her tweet ahead, including thoughts from Lorraine Baines herself, Lea Thompson!

7 Reasons Why Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Is Simply a Big Hot Mess

Going into Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, I sort of had high hopes. I thought, sure, the first film wasn't that great, but maybe they'd be able to find their footing during the second one, and then it would be smooth sailing for the final three films! America, I was wrong. This film was a real hot mess every step of the way, from the casting controversies to the strange back-and-forth about Dumbledore's sexuality, to the final execution of the film. At the end of the (very long) day, The Crimes of Grindelwald may be worse than its predecessor. It undermines the Harry Potter canon with a wonky timeline, and it even manages to undo some of the charm from the first film. Wondering what, exactly, makes it such an egregious addition to the franchise? I'm here to break down my own biggest grievances.

Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey's New Thriller Looks Deeply Uncomfortable

Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey have reunited four years after Christopher Nolan's existential Interstellar for another stressful-as-hell movie. In Serenity, a very blond Hathaway asks a rugged McConaughey to murder her abusive husband, played by Chappaquiddick's Jason Clarke, by dropping him smack dab in the ocean, much to the delight of any nearby sharks. Having fun yet? The trailer also features a mysterious man with a briefcase, several ominous shots of blood, and a Lost-like vibe that hints not all on the island is as it seems.

Serenity is scheduled to be released later this year on Jan. 25. Watch the deeply agitating - and still kind of sexy? Just me? - new trailer above, then check out the first footage ahead.

This Cute Video From the 1989 Oscars Will Remind You Why You Love Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell

Hollywood golden couple Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have had no shortage of adorable moments together since they began dating in 1983. While they've appeared onscreen as costars plenty of times, one of the pair's greatest roles was actually as presenters at the 1989 Oscars, which the Academy helpfully reminded us all of with a vintage video posted on Facebook. In it, Kurt and Goldie - who have famously eschewed marriage in favor of a more nonformal commitment to each other - can't help but have a little fun with the audience while presenting the award for best director.

"I was just thinking about how we fit in completely with the theme of the show," Goldie said. "We're costars, we're compadres, we're companions, and we're a couple!" Kurt helpfully points out that there's only "one thing" they're not: married. Goldie giggles and asks Kurt if that's "a proposal," as the audience goes wild. Unfortunately for all of us, Kurt jokes that the Academy wants them to speed things up and he'll have to discuss it with her later. Goldie's reaction to that is priceless, so watch the cute clip above! And then, because we know you can't get enough of Kurt and Goldie, take a walk down memory lane and see more photos of their romantic night at the award show ahead.

Tess's Vulnerable Conversation With Kate Is Getting a Lot of Attention - For Good Reason

Warning: If you're not a fan of spoilers, do not read on until you've seen Nov. 20's episode of This Is Us.

This Is Us may be a fictional TV show, but there's no shortage of valuable real-life application that can come from each episode. During the NBC series' three seasons, viewers have watched each character handle personal growth, and during Nov. 20's Thanksgiving episode, fans got a subtle glimpse of some future development for Tess Pearson.

During the episode, Randall, Beth, and Annie go to hand out food at a shelter before Thanksgiving dinner, while Tess stays home with Kate and Toby. Tess gets her period for the first time, and after an embarrassing run-in with Toby, she has a heartwarming conversation with her aunt. Kate shares her own mortifying first period experience to ease Tess's worries, and reminds her that she's growing up. "Pretty soon you're going to have your first boyfriend," Kate says, to which Tess tentatively responds, "Or girlfriend?" Kate's supportive reaction is a visible relief to Tess, and she asks her aunt to keep this revelation private until she's ready to tell her parents.

This serves not only as a twist to fans, but as a gentle reminder that Tess's romantic interests aren't limited. As Tess is still pretty young, the show's executive producer Isaac Aptaker told Entertainment Weekly this storyline exploring her sexuality is "a slow burn" that "will play out for Tess over the life of the show." This moment shared between Kate and Tess may only hint at what's to come, but the message of inclusion and acceptance isn't lost on viewers. Below, see how fans reacted to Tess's vulnerability and character development. Hint: There's a lot of support and excitement ahead.

Nope, Drinking Coffee Won't Improve Your Metabolism - Here's What Actually Works

If you've ever looked up how to boost your metabolism, you've probably come across information telling you to eat more spicy foods, skip breakfast in the morning, and drink more coffee. You've seen the memes that say you aren't officially awake until you've had a cup of coffee, but when it comes to speeding up your metabolism, the caffeine isn't making much of a difference.

"I don't think there's any food that can consistently and sustainably increase your metabolic rate meaning the number of calories you burn," Dori Arad, PhD, RDN, CDE, the Mount Sinai Physiolab director, told POPSUGAR. "Everything that people usually use, like caffeine, for example - they may increase your metabolism, but for a very short period of time, and not if you drink coffee everyday," he said.

Instead of ordering a double shot of espresso with the hopes of naturally boosting your metabolism, Dr. Arad told us four things things you can begin to implement into your daily life that actually work. First, begin to incorporate strength training into your workout routine. Not only will you burn more calories, you'll build more muscle, requiring more energy, which means your metabolic rate will increase. You can get started with this four-week beginner's program.

Dr. Arad also said to eat more healthy fats and protein, because your body will have to work harder to process them. Finally, Dr. Arad said to decrease your sugar intake to prevent those calories from being stored as fat.
