Wedding in Aisle 5! See Pictures From This Couple's Epic Costco Nuptials
Finding a wedding venue can often be a somewhat daunting task for soon-to-be married couples. But when it came time for newlyweds Margot Schein and Julian Parris to pick out where they wanted to exchange vows, it was a no-brainer that they'd hold their wedding ceremony in the place where they first connected: Costco. Yes, that would be the same membership-only retailer where you can conveniently purchase anything from a three-pound cookie to an eight-foot Christmas tree.
According to NBC7, Margot and Julian met online three years ago and immediately hit it off, thanks to their mutual love of Costco. They went on their first date at the store's Mission Valley location in San Diego and tied the knot there in November in front of their friends, their family, and a group of Costco employees. The wedding itself - which was, of course, complete with a Costco wedding cake - drew a bit of inspiration from the newlyweds' love of Harry Potter. As an ode to Gryffindor, Margot wore a deep red gown with a bouquet that she made from the pages of the books, while Julian suited up in a blue tuxedo that he accessorized with a bronze tie for Ravenclaw. See more stunning photos from Margot and Julian's big day ahead!

This Office-Themed Wedding Deserves ALL of Michael Scott's Dundies
Do you still watch The Office nightly? Are you often tempted to instinctively blurt out, "That's what she said!" when the opportunity presents itself? Do you secretly wish you could apply for a job at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then boy oh boy, do we have a treat for you. Jessica Palacios of Rae Leigh Photography took pictures of a collaborative styled photo shoot inspired by Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly from The Office, and she shared all the gorgeous, nostalgia-packed footage with POPSUGAR.
The color scheme of the shoot mimicked the "basic colors of an office" - whites, creams, grays, and browns - which were amped up with "boho floral arrangements, marble and concrete accents, wood elements, and a pop of autumnal orange here and there," the planner of the shoot wrote. As for the bride and groom, the bride wore a simple white gown, just like Pam did while saying "I do" to Jim before visiting Niagara Falls. Meanwhile, the groom wore a gray suit and even posed with a bicycle during the shoot as an ode to how Jim rode his bike through Scranton to get to work every day (*swoons*).
Rather than tables, the cork-board seating chart assigned different characters to one of three cubicles, staying true to the theme of the hit NBC show. Of course, the dinner menu was provided by Schrute Farms, and the cake was finished with a topper that read "It is your wedding," as a nod to Dwight's deadpan birthday decorations. Ha! Keep reading to see the hysterical memo-style invitations and all the other spot-on details of the Dundie-worthy shoot. Save these ideas to your Pinterest wedding inspiration board, in case you want to bring similar elements to your big day!

If You're Feeling Anxious, Try Playing Tetris to Calm Your Nerves (Seriously!)
Did you used to waste hours playing Tetris as a kid? The game has been popular on computers, Game Boys, and other game consoles for decades and viewed as nothing more than a way to pass the time. But researchers have discovered that Tetris is actually a great way to ease feelings of anxiety.
A study published in the journal Emotion found that playing Tetris can help calm your nerves and move you through periods of anxiety by getting your brain into a state of "flow." "The state of flow is one where you're completely absorbed or engaged in some kind of activity," Katie Sweeny, a psychologist at the University of California, Riverside, who co-authored the study, told NPR. "You lose your self-awareness, and time is just flying by."
If you've ever lost hours to Tetris or a similar game, then you know the feeling. The game distracts your brain and can be an effective coping tool when dealing with feelings of anxiety. For the study, the researchers evaluated a group of 300 college students and told them they were going to be evaluated by their peers based on their attractiveness - a mean way to get someone's nerves up, but it worked to stress out the group.
The participants were split up into three groups: one group played a slow version of the game, one played an incredibly fast and challenging version, and a third played the classic version, which starts out moderate and adapts to your skill level the longer you play. For this third group, they were able to get into the "flow" of playing while the slow group was bored by the pace of the game and the fast group got too stressed out. The classic group that was able to get into the "flow" had higher levels of positive emotions and lower levels of negative emotions.
"It wasn't a huge difference, but we think it's noticeable," Dr. Sweeny told NPR. "And over time, it can add up." Fortunately, it doesn't even have to be Tetris exactly that can get you into a state of flow and calm your anxiety. Any activity that you enjoy that uses your brain and can get you into a rhythm will work: a dance class, biking, or playing a board game.
As someone who suffers from bouts of anxiety, I decided to give this method a try. On the subway ride home last night, which can usually make me feel pretty anxious, I decided to play Tetris. I hadn't played since middle school, but I was surprised at how easily I was able to pick it up again. The time flew by and before I knew it, I was already getting off at my stop. Although I have my own coping mechanisms to deal with anxiety, I'll definitely keep Tetris in mind for when I really want to distract my brain.
New to Taking CBD? A Few Beginner Tips For Natural Supplement
I had no idea that when I signed up to try CBD oil for the first time that I'd be opening the door to a product that would change my life. I've dabbled for years in natural, naturopathic, and homeopathic remedies for anxiety, depression, stress, and all other aspects of wellness, and by far CBD has made the most significant and important difference in my health, with zero negative impact.
A refresher: CBD (cannabidiol) is an active compound of hemp - non psychoactive (doesn't get you high) - that I like to refer to as Mother Nature's Xanax mixed with ibuprofen. Beyond anxiety and inflammation relief, early patients (including children) have used CBD for bipolar disorder, epilepsy, and Parkinson's.
Since I've been using a variety of different CBD products over the past five months, I think I've graduated from "beginner" to "intermediate" CBD consumer. I've tried topical and ingestible products; creams and salves, sprays and balms, chocolates, capsules, tinctures, and oils. I've taken anything from 2 mg at a time to 90 mg so far and have found my personal sweet-spot dose for different purposes, whether it's daily stress management, intense anxiety, or muscular tension and pain relief after a workout.
Disclaimer: as I'm certain you've deduced, I'm not a doctor (though that would be a hilarious twist, right?). These tips were developed through my personal experience and bolstered by some research, interviews, and discussions with fellow CBD consumers.
Tip 1: Everyone's Experience Is Different
As with ALL things from over-the-counter medication to prescriptions to herbal remedies (and even food!), CBD is a personalized experience. Your experience with 10 milligrams will be different than your friend's experience, or your mom's, or your significant other's. Some people can drink a gallon of coffee and won't feel a thing, and others (me in particular) get crazy caffeinated just sniffing an espresso - CBD is no different.
The effects and dose are based on your DNA, and because our bodies are all ever so slightly different, your personal chemistry will determine how your body processes hemp. Don't try to compare yourself or what you feel to other people you know - or even what you read on the internet, this post included. It's a good frame of reference so you know what to possibly expect, but not a hard and fast set of rules. Got it?
Tip 2: Hydrate Extra!
Most people are pretty dehydrated at any given moment (we all need to be drinking more water), but CBD has highlighted just how much more water I've needed. As noted, your experience will vary, but from those I've talked to (and what I've read) this is a more common "side effect." Just like you might feel a little dehydrated when you drink tea or coffee, this herb could cause similar effects. It's a great reminder to keep the H2O flowing all day long!
Tip 3: Find the Right Dose
I can't tell you how much to take to stop a panic attack, but I can tell you that it's probably a good idea to start small and work your way up. If you're new and especially if you're nervous (totally normal for starting any new kind of routine!), pick a low dose so you're in control of your consumption. Not Pot's CBD chocolates have 2 mg of CBD in each little heart - you could start with one, then take two to three and let it build up over a few weeks.
Once you've "graduated" from there, try 10 to 15 milligrams. Sagely Naturals makes a 10 milligram turmeric and CBD capsule that I love, and CW Hemp (my first CBD love) makes 15 milligram capsules. From there, try two pills. Give yourself time to see how long it takes to set in. Take notes, and keep a journal of how you feel. This is a really important part of any new regimen and medication, not just CBD!
Tip 4: Don't Give Up if You Don't Feel Anything at First
While starting with a smaller dose, you might not feel any effects at all! That's normal, so don't stress, and definitely don't give up on it, because a world of anxiety-free living just within your grasp, dear friend. Patience is a virtue, especially with this process.
Tip 5: Find the Right Product
Would you rather have chocolates and gummies, or an oil tincture? Maybe you'd rather pop a vitamin-like capsule! Only need muscle relief? A topical balm or cream might be your best bet.
Play around with it! See what works best for you and your body. This natural remedy has countless benefits and can impact your health tremendously - so find the right method, product, dose, and timing, and get to it!
Mental Health Experts Reveal 11 Ways to Deal With Holiday Stress So You Can Have a Jolly Holiday
Among the frenzied holiday shopping, hosting parties, keeping your kids occupied for weeks, and spending time with (sometimes contentious) family members, the holidays are downright stressful. It's supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year, but you may find yourself in over your head.
You shouldn't let the stress of the season ruin the holidays for good. Instead, we spoke to mental health experts who explain how to stop holiday stress in its tracks and deal with it as it arises. With these 11 strategies, you'll be able to take a deep breath and actually enjoy this busy time of the year.
I Choose to Spend the Holidays Alone Every Year - This Is What I Want You to Know
A scene of family and friends laughing around a big dinner table, drinking cider, and cutting pie seems to be the vision that is elicited when we think of the holidays, but for some people with unconventional families, like myself, the holidays are much more complex than that. For instance, I usually like to spend the season alone.
Don't get me wrong: throughout elementary and middle school, the holidays were my favorite time of the year to spend with family. I loved going to my grandmother's for Thanksgiving, and enjoyed seeing all of my many cousins on Christmas Eve. I am the oldest of four, and I can still remember the towering stacks of wrapped gifts surrounding the decorated tree in our apartment's living room. I would become so full of anticipation before the holidays that when New Year's Day rolled around and another festive year came to a close, I would cry hysterically while packing the ornaments. The way my family celebrated the holidays was like a dream, and I loved every minute of it.
My perspective on the holidays began to change when I entered high school. My parents had a very tumultuous marriage and my mother decided it was finally time to file for divorce. My father moved out of the house, disappearing for long periods of time and showing up unexpectedly, usually not acting like himself. I still remember that first Christmas as a broken family. My mother, now a single mother of four trying to do her best, begged me to help put the presents under the tree while she put my baby brother to sleep. I still can feel the surprise I felt when I went down to the laundry room to get the boxes that were hiding in one of the storage closets. They were unwrapped, and from the neighborhood church toy drive. A hot rush of sadness washed over me.
The more time went on, the more distant I became from the holidays I once knew as a child.
The more time went on, the more distant I became from the holidays I once knew as a child. After my parents' split, my mother moved out of state with my three younger siblings, my father went in and out of rehab, and I ended up living with my grandmother. There were no more Christmas Eves full of paternal cousins and cake - my dad's side was also severed. I didn't spend the weeks leading up to Christmas furiously making wish lists with my sisters, and there were no presents underneath the tree. Thanksgiving and Christmas Day were usually spent at one of my maternal uncles', where I would always feel like the odd one out, or like I didn't belong. Instead of crying just when the holidays ended, I would feel a deep sadness from November through the new year. It became my new normal.
Thankfully, this changed when I graduated college and moved into my own apartment. I realized that since I had my own place to live year-round, I could decide for myself how I was going to spend the holidays. One year for Thanksgiving, I went to the Native American Museum in downtown New York City and walked around the South Street Seaport. One year for Christmas, I stayed in my apartment in Brooklyn cat-sitting and watching Christmas movies while eating a festive spread for one from Whole Foods. I can honestly say these were two of the most relaxing, joyous holidays I ever spent. This is when I realized I was happiest spending the holidays alone, and figured out that it healed me. The possibilities feel endless when you have full control.
Spending the holidays alone, to me, doesn't feel depressing. It feels liberating. I find that my mind feels more relaxed, and I have a better handle on my emotions. Plus, it brings me happiness creating my own little traditions.
It's my choice to be alone during the holidays, and I want you to know that if that sounds like something you'd prefer as well, it's totally OK to do it. If you're on the other end, and have extended an invitation to someone spending the holidays solo, and they politely decline, it's fine - you don't have to press it. I can't tell you how many times people say to me, "I feel so badly you spend the holidays alone, isn't that depressing?" I am always confused. Spending the holidays alone, to me, doesn't feel depressing; it feels liberating. I find that my mind feels more relaxed and I have a better handle on my emotions. Plus, it brings me happiness creating my own little traditions. Before I spent my holidays alone, I imagined all the alone time to feel emotional and heavy, but now I know it's the exact opposite.
There is such a stigma attached to doing things by yourself, especially during the holiday season. It is important to remember that everyone heals and works through the effects of their past experiences differently. There is no wrong or right way to go about doing things, and if it means someone would rather spend the holidays with just themselves, then maybe they prefer to.
With another holiday season already here, I am once again faced with the question: what will I do? And I am planning on spending it how I always do - however I'd like.
I'm a Nervous Flyer, and Only This 1 Thing Has Ever Helped Me Relax on a Plane
I don't come off as a nervous flyer. When it comes to air travel, the days leading up to departure fill me with excitement and delight. Getting the window seat is a must when booking, because I'm constantly in awe of the views from above the clouds. Even more so, I'm thrilled by plans to visit new and beautiful places. But, without a doubt, these feelings of exhilaration are always met with repeated bouts of nerves as it's time to board the plane.
I'm aware of the statistics. Plane crashes occur far less frequently than car crashes, and you're more likely to meet your end by being struck by lightning. But I still can't shake preflight jitters and the internal panic that comes with flying.
I've seen one too many airplane films go south, which has left me with a constant uneasiness towards flying. Couple that with the feeling of being off the ground - not to mention turbulence - and it adds up to nervous shakes and in-flight rituals. I reach for my boyfriend's hand at each and every lift-off and touchdown, and letting go is not permitted until we've been in the air (or on the ground) for several minutes. I've adapted subtle breathing techniques I do after boarding in an attempt to clear my mind. I say the same simple prayer, asking for safety over everyone, before takeoff. It's a whole thing.
I've tried out various other calming methods that seem to work for others, from tailored playlists to CBD oil. While these have momentarily distracted me from my stress, nothing came close to diminishing my nerves or calming my flying anxieties, until I starting using a weighted blanket.
Related: 24 Helpful Travel Hacks to Make Flying Stress-Free
I didn't originally purchase a weighted blanket specifically for flights. I get cold and restless most nights (thanks, anemia!) and, after researching their known benefits when it comes to improving sleep, bought one to help me fall asleep at home and during the occasional hotel stay. Imagine my relief when I brought it on a six-hour flight from New York to San Diego and found myself drifting off to sleep under it - something I hadn't ever done before while flying, thanks to nerves.
The Magic Blanket ($179) has given a whole new meaning to "comforter." At 36 inches wide and 60 inches long, my weighted blanket serves as my personal item (albeit a heavy one at 10 pounds - a travel version might be easier for you to carry), and, when folded, fit the airline requirements to fit under the seat in front of me. As soon as we took off, I wrapped myself in it.
It was reminiscent of being held in a large embrace, in which I could feel my anxiety melting away. My stiff breaths slowed considerably. My muscles, previously rigid and tense, loosened up.
At first, I thought my weighted blanket to be effective because it made me feel as though I was at home in my bed, wrapped in my usual blanket. But it was really the beads inside of the blanket, which are responsible for providing the pressure or weight that gives you that safe feeling, that allowed the blanket to successfully mold against my body and fill every gap of the plane seat without creating uncomfortable restriction (which would have made my nerves in the cabin even worse). On top of that, the beads created a soothing stroke-like sensation when I moved. It really made the small amount of space I had in the plane feel noticeably more comfortable, like I had been tucked in. It was reminiscent of being held in a large embrace, in which I could feel my anxiety melting away. My stiff breaths slowed considerably. My muscles, previously rigid and tense, loosened up. Most notably, though, my thoughts stopped racing and the familiar drumming of my heart faded. I eased into a relaxation mode I hadn't known before while flying.
Related: I Have a Crippling Fear of Flying, but It Doesn't Stop Me From Traveling
My experience isn't a one-off case, either. The relaxing effects of weighted blankets are backed by research. Deep touch pressure, or DTP, is all about placing gentle, distributed pressure on your body - think weighted blankets, weighted lap pads, massages, stuffed animals, and, to my delight, hugs - to regulate the secretion of cortisol, the hormone that makes you feel stressed. Using a weighted blanket, in particular, has been proven to have both mental (lower anxiety and a calm feeling) and physiological (decrease in heart rate, blood pressure, and activity in the nervous system) effects. It makes sense that all these benefits will work on nervous flyers. They certainly worked on me.
My weighted blanket is now a travel essential, guaranteeing some emotional relief, lowered nerves, and a few hours of shut eye. It hasn't erased all of my flying anxieties - I still get preflight jitters as I approach the gate and reach for my boyfriend's hand at takeoff - but it's improved my in-air experience tenfold. Just knowing I'll have an easier time calming down and catching some zzz's is reassuring. Now, when I'm faced with the choice of fight or flight, there's no question: flight.

5.1 Million Pounds of Beef Have Been Added to a Recall Due to Possible Salmonella Concerns
A beef recall issued in October warning customers that several million pounds of raw beef products could be contaminated with salmonella has just expanded. According to the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, Arizona-based meat producer JBS Tolleson has recalled an additional 5.1 million pounds of raw beef, sending the total amount of products recalled up to 12 million pounds.
All of the "raw, non-intact beef items" in question were packaged between July 26 and Sept. 7 with the establishment number "EST. 267" inside the USDA mark of inspection label. The products have also been distributed to locations nationwide and sold under brand names like Cedar River Farms Natural Beef, Kroger, and Gourmet Burger. A comprehensive list of the recalled items, including their product codes, case codes, and distribution areas, can be found on the FSIS website.
As of Nov. 15, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found that 246 people in 25 states have gotten sick, though no deaths have been reported. The most common symptoms of salmonella are diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever noticeable within 12 to 72 hours of consuming the contaminated product(s). The symptoms usually last anywhere from four to seven days, and most people can recover without treatment.

If you're trying to get a bigger butt, Michael B. Jordan's trainer Corey Calliet has some advice for you: "Do a lot of compound training using weight and machines."
Corey explained that by using weights (the heavier, the better), you'll be able to develop muscles in your glutes while increasing your lower-body strength. The three exercises he recommends implementing into your strength routine are squats, the leg press, and hamstring curls.
If you want to turn these moves into a quick workout, Corey said to do three to four sets of 15-20 reps per exercise, taking 30 seconds of rest in between each set. Learn how to do each exercise ahead.
