Roses Are Red, Marriage Is Golden, but a Rose Gold-Themed Wedding Will Have Your Heart Stolen

This shoot took place at Station House in St Petersburg, FL, on a beautiful day where the natural lighting perfectly accentuated the rose and metallic tones of the decor. Meet the 30 Women - and 1 Dog - Who Will Be Competing For Colton's Heart on The Bachelor
The contestants for Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor have finally been unveiled! The first couple were introduced during Colton's interview with Ellen DeGeneres, when she surprised the 26-year-old former football player by revealing three of the women who will be vying for his heart in season 23: Katie, Annie, and Sydney. The women played a game of "Know or Go," answering a handful of the talk-show host's questions until one lucky bachelorette, Annie, was crowned the winner and got a hug from Colton.
The remaining women were announced by Chris Harrison on Thursday, Dec. 6, and the 30 women include a dog rescuer, a former Miss North Carolina and Miss Alabama, and Lucy the Dog (we're rooting for her, to be honest). After coming in fourth on Becca's season, Colton appeared on Bachelor in Paradise and seemed to be very much in love with Tia Booth, which was a contributing factor in why Becca sent him home. But then on the Sept. 3 episode of the spinoff, he broke it off with Tia and both stars left paradise before the finale.
The football player started his own charity, the Colton Underwood Legacy Foundation, and in addition to dating Becca and Tia, he's also been in a relationship with Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman. One of the big things to remember about Colton's time on Becca's season - other than the awkward love triangle with Tia - was the fact he is still a virgin. He told Becca he was not waiting for marriage but for the right person. We can already imagine the field day The Bachelor's producers will have with that storyline during his Fantasy Suite episodes . . .

Exactly How Many Major Awards Bradley Cooper Has Won in His Career
Golden Globe nominations are out, starting off award season with a bang, and as expected, A Star Is Born came out of nomination morning looking very good indeed - and so did its director and leading man, Bradley Cooper. Not only did Cooper receive a nomination for his acting work in the movie, but he also was nominated for directing the film and, as a producer, shared in the movie's overall nomination for best motion picture (drama). The 2019 Golden Globe nominations have arrived, and congratulations are in order for the hit rom-com Crazy Rich Asians. The movie has been nominated for best motion picture in the musical or comedy category, and Constance Wu, who plays the movie's lead Rachel Wu, was nominated for best actress in a musical or comedy.

OMG! This Boy Was So Overwhelmed Meeting the Queen, He Dropped to the Floor and Crawled Away
We get it; the idea of meeting a royal can be extremely intimidating and sometimes daunting, especially if we're talking about Queen Elizabeth II. She is the ruling monarch of England, after all. During the queen's visit to Coram on Wednesday, a 9-year-old boy named Nathan Grant was so overwhelmed by meeting the royal that he immediately dropped to the floor and crawled away from her. Once Nathan got to the door, he turned around and shouted, "Bye!" Still, the best part of it all was that the queen seemed totally unbothered and moved right along to greet the next person in line like a true professional.
Coram was established in 1739 and is the UK's oldest children's charity. During the queen's visit, Elizabeth opened a new center and spread holiday cheer as she helped kids decorate a Christmas tree. No word on whether Nathan participated.
Here's How to Watch Golden Globe-Nominated A Very English Scandal
The Golden Globes nominations for 2019 have just landed, and we're pretty stoked about not just the diversity of the nominees but also how many damn good shows and movies got an award nod. One of them that you might not be familiar with is A Very English Scandal, an incredibly British miniseries that premiered on the BBC but is thankfully available on Amazon Prime for those of us who don't have access to British TV.
The miniseries earned two nominations, for best actor and best supporting actor in a limited series or motion picture made for television, for Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw, respectively. The three-part series is based on the true story of British politician Jeremy Thorpe (Grant) who gets caught up in a sex scandal in the 1970s. Whishaw plays Norman Scott, Thorpe's jilted lover whom Thorpe was accused of conspiring to murder.
If you have Amazon Prime, you can catch the entire series there ahead of the Jan. 6 award show. You can also watch on the BBC online if you happen to be in the UK. After all, you want to be in the know in case Grant or Whishaw takes home a trophy in January.
Outlander Hasn't Won Many Big Awards, but It HAS Been Nominated
Starz's period TV series Outlander has many aspects that are worthy of taking home some awards hardware - the acting is superb, the cinematography and directing have had some glorious moments, and the sets and costumes are second to none in television. But which awards has the time-travel drama actually claimed?
Unfortunately, the answer is "not nearly enough."
As far as the two big award shows - the Primetime Emmy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards - the show has been nominated for 10 total awards between the two, including four straight nominations for star Caitriona Balfe in the best TV drama actress category. But it has yet to win any of them. Perhaps the 2019 Golden Globes will be Balfe's year! Though honestly, if she didn't win back in 2017 for her incredible work in "Faith" when Claire loses her baby in France, then we're not sure she ever will win.
The good news is Outlander has fared better with other award shows. First off, the BAFTAs, which are England's version of the Oscars and Emmys put together, awarded Balfe a best actress - television statuette in 2016. Balfe has also won a Saturn Award, an IGN People's Choice Award, an Irish Film and Television Award, and two Women's Image Network Awards for her work on the show.
The show itself has also won many awards: the best fantasy television series Saturn Award for the past three years, several People's Choice Awards, multiple Critics' Choice Television Awards, three IGN People's Choice Awards, a Hollywood Post Alliance award, two Satellite and TV Guide Awards apiece, and several other Women's Image Network Awards beyond Balfe's two wins.
As for Balfe's costar Sam Heughan, he unfortunately has not been as decorated as she has. He has received many nominations for many of the same awards but has only won once - the 2015 drama lead actor Gold Derby TV Award.
Perhaps 2019 will be the year Outlander breaks into the major award wins at the Golden Globes or the Emmys. But even if it doesn't, it's still number one in our hearts.

This Is What Happens to Our Skin When We Travel (Spoiler Alert: It's Not Pretty)
Traveling can take its toll on our wallets and our sleep schedule - that much is obvious. What we often fail to remember is how much hell we put our skin through during that 14-hour flight to Tokyo or that cross-country bus ride.
Flights lift the moisture straight from our faces, leaving us with duller complexions, tightness, and even irritation. "This happens especially on long flights," said dermatologist Kavita Mariwalla, MD. "Our skin is exposed to recirculated air for hours." Dermatologist Dendy Engelman, MD, added that our skin absorbs less oxygen inside a plane because of how it is pressurized, which also leads to the dehydrated skin.
Traveling by bus introduces the risk of picking up germs that are both harmful to our skin and overall health. "On a bus, one has to be wary of environmental pollutants such as germs on the seats and areas by the window, as these are not necessarily cleaned between stops but rather at the end of the day," said Mariwalla. "Any time one is taking mass transit, there is also exposure to viruses as there are many people in one enclosed space."

This 1 Hack Completely Saves My Sanity While Traveling With My Kids During the Holidays
Holiday travel is always crazy, but it's especially chaotic and stressful when you have kids. The traffic, the crowded airports, the rest-stops, the long lines, and did I mention the traffic? No matter how you get around during the holiday season, it's usually never entirely pleasant. When I was a kid, it was all about long road trips to visit family. And since I never enjoyed being in the car for long stretches of time, my mom came up with a genius idea to keep me entertained; every hour - if my brothers and I behaved - we would each get one mystery bag with some little activity inside that would hopefully keep us occupied until the next bag, and the next, until finally, we'd arrive at our destination. While I give my mom full credit on this one, I'm far too lazy to make individual bags for each of my kids for every hour we're in the car, so I came up with my own hack to keep them happy: road trip baskets.
The first time I used these [travel] baskets on a six-hour road trip with two kids, it was the easiest trip we'd ever taken.
My family and I mostly travel up and down the East Coast by car, but this one big travel hack could work for planes and trains as well. It keeps my kids occupied, keeps me from hearing the dreaded "Are we there yet?" question a thousand times, and ultimately keeps me sane on the usually dangerous roads full of other holiday travelers. Each child gets one basket, and inside are crafts, books, activities, and snacks to keep them busy for hours. I put them in an easy-to-reach spot and my kids can take out whatever they want whenever they want without having to ask me. The first time I used these baskets on a six-hour road trip with two kids, it was the easiest trip we'd ever taken. Since that trip, I've made countless baskets and am currently working on a few for the upcoming holidays.
I don't love giving my kids a ton of screen time, so plugging them in for a six-hour trip isn't very appealing to me. But there's a definite time and place for kids to lose themselves in a TV show or movie, and a long stretch of traveling is one of them. We use tablets as backups, but they aren't the main focus of the trip. I wait until the right time to pull movies out like when they're overtired or melting down in a traffic jam. But until that happens, their road trip baskets are the focus, and they really do love it.
The first thing I do to create these baskets is think about each child's current interests and what keeps them entertained. I pack some of their favorite books and toys, but also introduce new things to keep them intrigued. Once I've put together in my head what will excite them, I begin collecting things they might like. I shop on Amazon, hit the dollar bins at Target, and scour the Dollar Tree shelves for little trinkets, toys, puzzles, books, and games with not too many pieces that will get lost in car seats. Big hits have included dry erase boards (bonus if it's magnetic), mini action figures, interlocking blocks or beads, interactive books (electronic or pop-up/pull-out pages), magnetic tiles, water paint books, and road trip bingo boards.
We also head to the library before the trip and I let the kids pick out books on CD that they can play on the DVD player and follow along with. Another thing my oldest really enjoys is her very own road trip binder. For this, I bought a three-ring binder with sheet protectors and a few three-ring pencil cases which I loaded up with new crayons and markers. I filled the sheet protectors with pages I printed off the internet or tore from an age-appropriate workbook like mazes, I-Spy pictures, or connect-the-dot pages. Because they can be wiped off, the sheet protectors provide a place for the kids to do a page more than once or erase mistakes. Behind the sheet protector pages, I also put in some blank construction paper and another pencil case filled with stickers, stamps, and fun rolls of tape for them to create whatever they want.
When it comes to traveling with kids, snacks are key, and I always make sure to pack goodies in their baskets. I try to make it a mix of their go-to snacks and some things they aren't usually allowed to have. It's a balance of salty and sweet, so there's always something they're in the mood for and they can't tell me there's nothing they want (well, they could, but spicing up the snack department helps curb the hunger complaints).
The road trip baskets have been a traveling lifesaver for us, and they're so easy to recreate with your own unique spin. It could be a backpack full of things for a long flight or a bag for each child to rummage through on a long train ride. The possibilities are endless, and you can tailor everything to each child. It's also pretty fun keeping everything a surprise until the kids are packed up and ready for travel. If I'm ever worried they'll blow through everything quickly because they're so excited to see all the new things in the basket, I keep a few things in a bag in the front seat with me, because this mom has always got a few tricks up her sleeve.

After the news of former President George H.W. Bush's passing at age 94 on Nov. 30, a photo of his service dog, a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever named Sully, is going viral. The pooch, who joined the Bush family this past June, "was specifically matched with the president to provide support during his daily activities" by America's VetDogs. Since then, the pair have been the best of friends, and Sully's Instagram account has slowly filled with snaps of him at his owner's feet. Now a new photo of Sully, lying not at former President Bush's feet but in front of his American-flag-covered casket, is breaking hearts all over the internet.
"Mission complete," reads the emotional photo's caption on both Sully's Instagram page as well as on Bush's spokesman Jim McGrath's Twitter account, which is where it first appeared on the night of Dec. 2. The photo will likely be one of the last of Sully supporting the Bush family, as his new mission will be to return to America's VetDogs for the holiday season. After that, he'll join the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center's Facility Dog Program to help wounded veterans with both physical and occupational therapies.
