If You Thought Lady Gaga Rules the Red Carpet, Just Wait Until You See Her Street Style

We're used to seeing Lady Gaga killing it on the red carpet, but that's not the only place she lets her fashion flag fly. Every single outing is an opportunity for Gaga to show off her style, whether that's a trip to the recording studio, a TV appearance, or just a regular Sunday afternoon in NYC with her fiancé. Even when she's dressing down, Gaga's outfits are far from casual. She'll add suspenders to a jeans-and-tee combo, wear platform boots with her day-to-day looks, and run errands in vintage Valentino. One thing's for sure: there'll always be a style surprise somewhere in the mix.

Keep reading to see some of Gaga's most memorable street style moments, from her Summer of '60s retro looks to her love affair with the sexiest pieces from the Versace archives. You will never run to the store in yoga pants again.

This LBD (With Pockets) Is the Best Holiday Dress I've Ever Owned - It's So Flattering

I don't have enough fingers to count how many times I've rushed out to buy the "perfect" party dress last minute and ended up overspending on something I never wore again. This year, I wanted to get something both versatile and flattering, so I can get my money's worth. I uncovered this Gal Meets Glam Midnight Floral Jacquard Dress ($198) at Nordstrom and was struck by its classic, yet chic silhouette.

I saw the dress as an investment because I planned to wear it more than once. In an effort to show just how versatile this dress is, I sought help from my fellow fashion and shopping editors to see how they would style it. Ahead, you'll see how we each decided to rock it with our own personal touches. Each look convinced me that this was a piece worth keeping, something I can wear time and time again. The best part? It has pockets, because who doesn't love that?

If You're Thinking About a Cheeky Bikini For Your Next Vaca, Iskra Lawrence Found the Perfect 1

There are some bikini styles I'm hesitant to buy, even if I think my booty looks good in the dressing room mirror. One such cut is the cheeky high-rise. I'm just afraid that when I'm finally romping around on the beach, I won't be able to enjoy the sand between my toes because I'll just be feeling so . . . bare. If I dare to invest in such narrow bottoms, won't I feel like "it's all hanging out"?

I've gone back and forth with this, but Iskra Lawrence's recent appearance in Miami just encouraged me to give the cheeky look a whirl. You see, even though she's showing skin to her hips, Iskra's suit is extremely flattering, with a waist that cinches just below the belly button.

Also, I love a bandeau with structure, which allows you to show off your shoulders, or even a stunning piece of jewelry, like Iskra's gold chain. There's just something about the lines of Iskra's exact set that puts me at ease as I take a deep breath and finally add a cheeky design of my own to the cart. Read ahead if you'd like to join me.

Hailey Baldwin Wore So Many Sexy Looks This Year, We Can Hardly Beliebe It

If anyone reigned supreme in the fashion department this year, it was Hailey Baldwin. The supermodel, who works with Maeve Reilly on constructing her street style and red carpet looks, came up big on the sparkle and shine and flaunted a few racy, sheer designs when we least expected it. This year will never be an average point in time for Ms. Bieber to look back on. You see, she got married to Justin just months after making headlines for attending the Met Gala with Shawn Mendes, all glammed up in Tommy Hilfiger. If it sounds like Hails kept us guessing romantically speaking, just wait until you read through her most memorable outfits! Disneyland Just Released a First Look at Its New Tropical Hideaway, and It Looks AMAZING!

The Tropical Hideaway is set to replace what was formerly known as Aladdin's Oasis, per an announcement from Disney made back in February, and it'll serve as a resting area for guests to stop in at between adventures. Located in Disneyland's Adventureland between the Jungle Cruise and Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room, the hideaway will be home to an eatery that will serve all kinds of unique dishes such as Sweet Pineapple Lumpia, a spring roll filled with pineapple and sweet cream cheese, and steamed bao buns with vegetable, chicken, and beef fillings. You're Going to Love These Resolutions Made by 100-Year-Olds

People who have lived long lives know a thing or two about the right kind of resolutions to make each year. Holiday Retirement, a provider of senior living communities, took note of their wisest residents and asked 100-year-olds across the country what their goals are for the year to come. Some resolutions are expected while other century-old friends listed some totally hilarious intentions. Keep reading to see what these centenarians have to say.

1. Drink whiskey and eat meat.

Dell Lyle, a centenarian from Bloomington, IN, and Vernon Whittern, a 101-year-old from Grand Junction, CO, swear they have lived as long as they have thanks to drinking Kentucky's finest and eating steak.

2. Eat more sweets.

Gretta Clark, a 103-year-old from Fort Gratiot, MI, says the key to a long life is to "eat dark chocolate and give lots of hugs."

3. Spend less time with your spouse.

Though one in five centenarians say you should spend more time with your spouse, six percent say spending less time together leads to a happy marriage.

4. Be stubborn.

Lola Brey, a 100-year-old from Billings, MT, says staying ornery and stubborn led to her longevity.

5. Take your kids to task.

One in five centenarians say today's parents should be stricter and discipline their children more.

6. Ladies, never admit you are wrong.

Harriet Lee, a 101-year-old from Roseburg, OR, says the key to a happy marriage is to "never let a man know he's right."

7. Make your bed every day.

Ms. Lee also attributes her long life to a simple daily chore: making her bed.

8. Put your kids to work.

More than 50 percent of centenarians think today's youth do not understand the value of hard work.

9. Fix Washington.

Even though 2015 is not an election year, it is a great opportunity to become a political advocate. According to centenarians, you can start by fixing military spending, the size of government, and politics in general.

10. Spend more time with people you love.

If they could go back and change one thing about their lives, one in three centenarians would spend more time with loved ones.

11. Spend less. Save more.

One in four centenarians say they regret not starting to save money at an earlier age. Centenarians also think adults today will most regret spending too much money (15 percent), followed by not saving enough money (13 percent).

12. Do what you can, when you can, how you can, for as long as you can.

This year, Vivian Hamilton, a 100-year-old from Sherman, TX, vows to keep that resolution.

13. Get to the gym.

Nearly nine in 10 centenarians say that physical activity has contributed to their health and happiness.

14. Be nicer.

Kay Wood, a 102-year-old from Ocala, FL, says her resolution for 2015 is "to just be nice to people."

15. Make it through the year.

Keep it simple in 2015. Follow 101-year-old Grace Currie's lead. The Surprise, AZ, resident resolves that this year she will "live to be 102."

Luckily, Mari caught Austin's reaction on camera, and we've never seen something so pure.

"Austin has been a volunteer at [the Humane Society of Genesee County] for about two years now," Mari told POPSUGAR. "He comes in to play with the kitties, walk dogs, and he helps me at events that I plan. Austin loves all animals! But kitties really hold a special place in his heart. Our kitty passed away on Nov. 14, and that was his best friend. He loves to snuggle with them and play with them too."

6 Ways I Benefited From Turning Off My Phone For Just 1 Week

I've had a cell phone since I was 11. I know - let that sink in for a second. Post 9/11, my parents wanted to make sure my brother and I had a way to get in touch with them in case of emergencies, so for the past decade and a half, I've had a phone essentially super glued to my left hand. In essence, I've been conditioned.

This past year, I hit my threshold of feeling overwhelmed. I was so tuned into everything around me and around the world 24/7, responding to everyone within seconds, constantly available . . . that I forgot to tune into what I needed. As such, stress levels contributed to atrocious mental health, chronic illness, and a destroyed immune system.

I needed to do a hard reset, and not on my phone - on my life.

The reset started with clearing my calendar, finding a place to chill out and rest, and then digitally detoxing. Phase one: move apps like Instagram to new folders on my phone and put new apps in their former places to see how often I was mindlessly opening them. Phase two: delete social media apps temporarily. Phase three: no tech for one week. GASP! I know. Here's what went down. (Note: this also went down on a week I was not at work - truly tech-free!)

Simone Biles Opens Up About Anxiety Following a Year of "Ups and Downs"

Though the past year signaled so many professional achievements for Simone Biles, it was a difficult one for her personal life. The 21-year-old Olympic gymnast, who was just named ESPN's Most Dominant Athlete of 2018, recently sat down with Robin Roberts at Good Morning America to reflect on her year filled with "ups and downs."

"I feel this year gave me a voice."

"I feel like there were a lot of points in this year that made me who I am today," Biles said. At the start of 2018, Biles came forward as one of the many women abused by former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State doctor Larry Nassar. On Jan. 24, Nassar was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison. At a competition later in the year, Biles wore a significant teal leotard in honor of fellow survivors. (A teal ribbon is the symbol for sexual assault awareness and prevention.) "I feel this year gave me a voice," Biles told Roberts. "I tried to find my voice this year and use that to the better potential in positive manners."

That being said, her transformative year was "definitely not easy." She said, "I still go to therapy, and I'm on anxiety medicine now because I had a lot of ups and downs throughout the year in trying to figure out what was wrong." Adding, "It's not easy, but the people surrounding me are some of the best, so it makes it a little easier."

Despite everything, Biles still managed to make history as the first female gymnast to win four all-around titles at the World Gymnastics Championships. Oh, and she did that hours after a trip to the ER for kidney stones. Biles is also confirmed to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo after the USA women's gymnastics team recently secured their spot. We're already looking forward to the many ways she'll inspire us for years to come.

I'm Choosing to Celebrate My Body in the New Year, Rather Than Trying to Change It

For many, this time of year signals an opportunity to change. It's as though the shift to a new calendar year holds gravitational weight, encouraging us to treat this simple passage of time as a catalytic event that will spurn us to transform our lives. But this January, I'm greeting the new year differently than I ever have before. I will not be making a resolution that centers around losing weight. Instead, I want to shift how I view my body and the desire to change it.

When I was in second grade, I asked my parents to buy me SlimFast bars. I saw the ads on TV all the time; just eat these bars or drink this creamy-looking shake, and you too would become slim, fast. For some reason, my parents agreed to let me try them. That Saturday, when my dad and I went to the grocery store to get food for the upcoming week, I was allowed to pick out a box of meal replacement bars from the vast selection in the fluorescent-lit aisle. I chose an apple cinnamon flavor. According to the instructions on the box, my lunch was to consist of a bar and a piece of fruit.

That Monday, I packed my SlimFast bar and a pear in my lunch box, and by the time lunch rolled around, the pear was so banged up that most of the delicate skin had been punctured, the bag's interior now a sticky, slimy mess. I can recall a sharp pang of self-pity as I launched the bruised and bleeding pear into the trash and attempted to wipe up the inside of my lunch bag, the holographic butterflies that covered the exterior flapping their wings as my small hands moved around the insulated inner lining. I gingerly unwrapped the rest of my lunch. The SlimFast bar tasted nothing like I expected it to. I never bought or consumed a meal replacement bar again.

That doesn't mean I gave up trying to change the way I looked. I have always been "chubby," a fact that so much of the world felt entitled to point out at various moments in my life. One time in middle school, I told myself I would only eat Jell-O from that moment on in a bid to lose weight. On the first day, I nearly passed out at lunch. As a teenager, I was essentially rejected by mass market clothing makers when many stores chose to neglect bodies like mine through their limited sizing. I still remember finding the first of the stretch marks that would come to adorn my body - thighs wrapped in faint ribbons of pink - and feeling deeply distressed at this new signal of abnormality.

I'm angry that we live in a world that has convinced us we are lacking.

I'm telling you this now because I am tired. I am tired from a lifetime of living in a world organized around my body. I am tired of feeling like I need to compensate for it. I am tired of carrying the weight of internalized shame and self-hatred. What if I just . . . didn't care? This mere physicality, this flesh on my bones, how have we let this become more representative of a person than the aspects that lie within?

I'm not only tired but angry. I am angry that we live in a world that has convinced us we are lacking, always one step away from being the best version of ourselves, like a sculpture that needs constant revision and adjustment. I am angry that the amazing women in my life, individuals that I cherish and draw inspiration from every day, still look in the mirror with eyes that are assessing their flaws and taking catalogue of areas that need improvement, instead of taking stock of the miracles we are lucky enough to bear witness to. I am angry that one of the most special people in my life - a 12-year-old girl I've known for years who has the most brilliant mind and the brightest future - came home from school one day last year and said she had been called fat by a peer.

I think about the reasons why perhaps I have carried "extra" weight for a majority of my life. I acknowledge the deeply rooted personal issues that tie emotions to food. A desire for control. Scrambling to fill perceived deficits in any way I can. Seeking comfort in a world that so often creates discomfort. Our bodies are so much more than we reductively make them out to be. They're a product of many elements - connections between heart and mind, which we often neglect in discussions about weight loss.

Losing weight isn't as simple as buying a box of SlimFast bars. I have issues that manifest themselves in many ways, one of which happens to be physical. If I can work to mend myself, becoming healthier in mind and practice, perhaps this would lead my body to undergo some type of change, but that's simply a byproduct and not the goal of these endeavors. For now, I'm vowing to place more importance on these internal changes than the physical ones, and not the other way around.

I still believe in the power of resolutions - and in your choice to lose weight, if that's what you want and not simply what you believe the world expects of you - but I know now that I need to shift the focus of my resolve. This year, I'll continue to celebrate who I am, and that means resolving to nurture myself from the inside out. To treat myself with care, compassion, and patience. To accept myself as someone who does not need to be changed. I'm not perfect, but I'm me - that's a fact I couldn't change even if I wanted to, and so it must be celebrated.

I Ate Kourtney Kardashian's Avocado Pudding For 1 Week and, Yep, I'm on Board

If you follow Keeping Up With the Kardashians, you're likely familiar with Kourtney Kardashian's healthy lifestyle. The mom of three has a pretty strict diet and workout routine, starting her morning with apple cider vinegar and probiotics to aid with digestion and a curious sweet avocado pudding she says gives her energy before exercise.

As a huge avocado-lover myself, this "power meal in a cup" sounded worth a try. I decided to eat the recipe every morning for a week to see if it really could power me through my early morning workouts and make my sweet tooth disappear with its dose of healthy fats and fiber.

The Recipe

This is Kourtney's five-minute recipe, according to her app:

  • 1 organic avocado, pitted and peeled
  • 1 cup organic coconut milk
  • 2 teaspoons manuka honey

Blend all ingredients until smooth, and eat with a spoon.

The Experiment

The smooth pudding tasted pretty good, and I enjoyed eating my breakfast slowly with a spoon as opposed to my usual smoothie on the go - it really does make all the difference when it comes to savoring every bite and feeling fuller.

After eating the pudding on day one, I actually felt very nauseous. I train immediately after waking up, and the only thing my stomach can handle before is usually coffee - I should have known having the pudding pre-workout would create some problems. For the rest of the week, I decided to have it as a post-workout snack instead of overnight oats, and that's when I started to reap the benefits.

I was expecting to feel hungry within an hour or two after, just because of the lack of carbs, but my body shocked me. The healthy fats kept me going all the way until lunch. That's because our satiety hormones are released much more in response to fats to help tell your body you're done eating. And like Kourtney says, the pudding gives you energy. I didn't experience my usual midmorning crash and even found myself reaching less for a cup of coffee.

The best part was that by the end of the week, my morning sugar cravings vanished. I never felt the urge to reach for sugar, and my skin was showing it, since sugar can cause breakouts, inflammation, and dullness. Avoiding sugar also meant I was eating healthier and fewer calories.

The Pros and Cons

The health benefits of the avocado pudding were what really kept me focused. The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits of manuka honey fueled my body in preparation for flu season. The high-fiber content of the avocado aided in digestion to keep away dreaded belly bloat.

I love lots of texture in my food, so the smoothness of the avocado pudding did get a bit boring after day three. On day four, I added chia seeds, hemp seeds, and grain-free granola on top. I don't know if that's Kourtney approved, but it definitely made me stick to the experiment.

Although I loved the taste of Kourtney's avocado pudding, I think overnight oats and avocado toast with eggs take the breakfast throne for me. Maybe it's because I'm a creature of habit or maybe it's because I couldn't really get used to the texture of the dish, but at least I know the toast with smashed avocado and a fried egg allows me to get healthy fats in with a source of carbs to fuel up. I'd prefer the pudding as dessert, so I'm inspired to freeze it and keep it handy to snack on every once in a while instead.

Grab a Pair of Dumbbells, and Get Ready to Burn Fat With This 40-Minute HIIT Workout

Diet plays a huge role in weight loss, but ACE-certified fitness trainer John Kersbergen told POPSUGAR that workouts that incorporate high-intensity intervals plus strength training are also part of the equation. HIIT workouts can help you burn fat and get leaner, and strength training will help you build muscle, which will improve your overall body composition.

Trainer and fitness expert Jillian Michaels agrees with combining HIIT and strength training to lose weight. She told POPSUGAR that HIIT "amps your calorie burn during the workout as well as your EPOC, or afterburn, and it accelerates how quickly you get more fit because of the intensified stress adaptation response." As for strength training, she added, "Lifting weights absolutely speeds fat loss because it burns more calories during and after your workout if done right."

There's no need to suffer for hours at the gym; John said, "The whole workout including warmup doesn't need to be more than 45 minutes to be effective." And three to four times a week is enough. While you could spend money on a fitness trainer and a fancy gym, this effective workout is absolutely free, it takes just 42 minutes, and you can do it anywhere as long as you have a pair of dumbbells.

Fat-Loss Workout

Equipment needed: Only one pair of light- to medium-weight dumbbells is necessary (three to 15 pounds), but you may prefer to keep two sets on hand just in case you want to go lighter or heavier, depending on the exercise. Choose a dumbbell weight that allows you to perform all 12 reps without stopping.

Directions: After warming up for a few minutes with some jumping jacks, hip circles, and plank walkouts, follow the directions below. For each five-minute section, perform as many rounds of the two-move workout as you can until the five minutes are up. Push the pace as hard as you can, knowing you get to rest for one minute afterward. Then move on to the next five-minute section and so on until the 42 minutes are up. Turn up the music, and have fun!

Red Meat Is Still Bad For Heart Health, Study Finds - but Not Just Because of Saturated Fat

Doctors and experts have long warned against eating too much red meat for heart health. In fact, the American Heart Association (AHA) recommends only eating lean meat such as chicken or fish without the skin because they are lower in saturated fat and saturated fat raises cholesterol and could lead to heart disease. (Although these are the AHA's guidelines, more recent studies haven't found a direct link between saturated fat and coronary heart disease).

But now, a new study has found it's not just saturated fat from red meat that can impact your heart - a chemical called trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) has been linked to heart disease when consumed in high levels. Researchers found that people who eat a lot of red meat have three times the amount of TMAO compared to those who eat white meat or a plant-based diet. In the study, the red meat participants ate the equivalent of eight ounces of steak or two quarter-pound beef patties a day, compared to participants who were just given white meat or just given plant-based protein sources. However, those who stopped eating red meat lowered their levels of TMAO.

TMAO is formed by gut bacteria when red meat is digested. TMAO can be measured using a simple blood test, which may be another strategy in helping prevent heart disease.

"These findings reinforce current dietary recommendations that encourage all ages to follow a heart-healthy eating plan that limits red meat," said Charlotte Pratt, PhD, the NHLBI project officer for the study, according to Science Daily. "This means eating a variety of foods, including more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low-fat dairy foods, and plant-based protein sources such as beans and peas."

If you're looking to cut back on your meat consumption and eat a more plant-based diet, check out these 10 tips.
