If You Ship Jon Snow and Ygritte, Then You Will Love This Styled Wedding Shoot
It is undeniable that Jon Snow and Ygritte have sizzling chemistry on the silver screen - perhaps because actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are a couple in real life. However, in true Game of Thrones fashion, Ygritte was killed off and died in Jon Snow's arms, which was possibly one of the most heartbreaking deaths in a show that is notorious for killing off beloved characters. If you ever wondered what would have happened if the two characters had gotten married, then this styled wedding shoot by photographer Elyssa Kivus is right up your alley!
"Inspired by the real-life love story of Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, we styled a wedding for an alternative Game of Thrones universe where Ygritte and Jon Snow make it to the altar. We even had a snuggly 'direwolf' jump in for some photos," said Elyssa about the styled shoot that took place at The Longhouse. The photos look spectacular and are full of references to the iconic franchise. The decor is absolutely stunning and looks like something right out of the Game of Thrones set, with silver goblets and large metallic candle stands that add to the medieval charm. They even had a three-tiered cake that featured a red dragon and a direwolf, which alludes to House Stark. Keep reading to see the outcome of this wonderful shoot, and keep an eye out for more Game of Thrones references.
Elle Fanning Becomes a Pop Superstar in the Electric Trailer For Teen Spirit
Elle Fanning might have made a name for herself as one of her generation's most talented actresses, but now the 20-year-old is giving singing a try. Well, at least in her newest film, Teen Spirit.
In the electric first trailer for the drama - which features Fanning belting out well-known hits from Robyn, Tegan and Sara, Carly Rae Jepsen, Annie Lennox, Ellie Goulding, and more - we see Fanning's Violet, an initially shy teenager, escape her small town by entering a local singing competition. Once she gets there, though, she realizes that her integrity and talent will be put to the test as she vys for stardom.
The film is written and directed by The Handmaid's Tale's Max Minghella, and also stars Rebecca Hall, Zlatko Buric, and Agnieszka Grochowska. Watch the pop-filled trailer above before it hits theaters on April 5!
The Saddest Songs to Come Out in 2018
Every once in a while, we all need a good cry. Whether it's sobbing over legitimate heartbreak or shedding a tear because the Game of Thrones season eight premiere still feels so far away, getting it all out there is healthy. We don't judge! If you need a playlist that's both timely and emotional, look no further than the following songs. Tracks like Carrie Underwood's "Cry Pretty," Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's "I'll Never Love Again," and Ariana Grande's "Breathin" are practically guaranteed to make you get a little misty eyed.
22 Shirtless Moments That Had Us Fanning Our Faces and Clutching Our Pearls in 2018
When partaking in a TV show or movie, I'd argue it's pretty much always a nice treat to see a set of abs and a nice chest. (There are exceptions, but, you know.) And as luck would have it, we got our fair share of treats in 2018! Black Panther delivered a whole treasure trove of musculature early on in the year, but late additions like Alex Landi's sizzling Grey's Anatomy debut and Jason Momoa's near-perfect Aquaman physique kept the momentum up through all of the 12 months. It's safe to say we're satiated. But, you know, if you need a few extra sips of all the sexiness, we've decided to compile some glorious 2018 shirtless moments right here for you.
If You Haven't Seen (or Heard of!) These 2018 Movies Yet, That Needs to Change
With the constant onslaught of content Hollywood seems to be flinging at us all year long, it's easy for plenty of good stuff to get lost in the mix. This is especially true for TV, which is more saturated with shows than ever, but it's also true for films! In 2018, there were so many great movies that simply did not get their time in the spotlight. Whether it was a small, limited release, less-than-great marketing, or the daunting shadow of a bigger blockbuster's release, we've picked out a handful of titles that sort of came and went. They may have slipped through the cracks once, but we're here to bubble them back up for you. Pay special attention; some of these are already getting award season recognition!
The Trailer For Black Mirror: Bandersnatch Is Here to Stress You the Hell Out
Another epic mindf*ck is headed our way courtesy of Black Mirror. Netflix just released the trailer for Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, which in all likelihood is a standalone feature-length episode. Starring Fionn Whitehead, the cryptic special will be released on Dec. 28, with the entire fifth season presumably hitting the streaming site shortly thereafter.
In the heart-pumping trailer, a computer game programmer in the '80s attempts to create an adventure game inspired by a fictional novel written by a deranged artist who murdered his wife. Along the way, the young programmer experiments with pills and seemingly begins to lose his grip on reality. (In case you were wondering, the bandersnatch is a fictional quick-moving creature first mentioned in Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking-Glass.)
It was previously revealed that the fifth season would contain a choose-your-own-adventure-style episode, and given Bandersnatch's very premise, it's very likely the special will be interactive. Watch the trailer ahead as you mentally prepare for the show's most ambitious stunt yet.

Will There Be a Bird Box Sequel? Here Are 4 Ways the Story Could Continue
Warning: spoilers for the ending of Bird Box ahead!
Netflix's latest star-studded, big-budget film, Bird Box, has finally arrived, igniting plenty of new mysteries for audiences to theorize about.
The dystopian thriller is based on Josh Malerman's novel of the same name and stars Sandra Bullock as Malorie, a pregnant woman trapped in a sprawling California home with a handful of other survivors in the midst of a postapocalyptic event that's wiped out most of the rest of the earth's population. A mysterious, invisible entity descends upon the world one day, causing people to commit suicide in grisly fashion once seen. Over the course of the hour and change that Malorie fights for her life, as well as the lives of her two young children, we hear the monster and see the effects of the monster's destruction and all the ways survivors are forced to cope with their horrifying new reality. But the monster, whatever it is, remains invisible to the naked eye.
About halfway through the film, a new threat emerges: homicidal people who are driven crazy by the evil entity are somehow able to avoid its suicidal urges and, in turn, dedicate their lives to forcing other unaffected survivors to "look." Malorie realizes her only option is to make a perilous three-day journey down a treacherous river to a rumored safe haven. Of course, to do so, she and her two nameless kids have to stay blindfolded the entire time. Not exactly a chill tubing trip, you know?
Fortunately, Malorie is able to complete the journey with both children intact, ending up at a former school for the blind where many people have taken refuge from the invisible monster lurking outside. The story wraps up with Malorie finally accepting her maternal instincts, bestowing names upon the boy and girl - Olympia and Tom - and presumably living happily ever after. But does the happy ending open the door for a sequel?
Since Bird Box has only just come out, Netflix has remained mum on the topic of a sequel, at least so far. The book upon which the film is based also doesn't have a sequel - Malerman instead followed up Bird Box with an unrelated novel, Black Mad Wheel, about a malevolent sound plaguing the human race. In case you want a sequel to Bird Box as much as we do, we went ahead and dreamed up three ways the story could continue, ahead.

Michael Schur's The Good Place is one of the best shows on television right now. Reba Looked So Proud of Kelly Clarkson's Cover of "Fancy" That We're About to Cry With Her
We all know Kelly Clarkson is a musical gift to this world, but the American Idol winner just keeps on surprising us! The 36-year-old took the stage at the Kennedy Center Honors to perform Reba McEntire's 1991 hit "Fancy," and begged her mother-in-law not to judge her. But judging by the very enthusiastic thumbs up and applause she received, it's safe to say no one was mad at Clarkson's performance.
The 41st annual event, which also featured a stellar performance from Adam Lambert singing a cover of Cher's "Believe," had a star-studded crowd present to celebrate the 2018 honorees, which included Philip Glass, Wayne Shorter, and Hamilton's creative team. Clarkson's cover had a good number of people dancing along in their seats and ended with them all on their feet for a standing ovation. The moment was obviously an emotional one for Clarkson and McEntire, who have been friends since 2007 and became family when The Voice coach tied the knot with McEntire's stepson Brandon Blackstock in 2013. Clarkson ended her performance by telling McEntire she "hoped she did it justice," but let's be real: she made us all proud. Especially her mother-in-law!

23 Royal Reasons Prince Harry Is Having a Better Year Than Almost Everybody in 2018
You would have thought that being a royal would have been enough for Prince Harry, but apparently it wasn't, because he had to go on and have a better year than all of us. Of course, we're only kidding, but in all seriousness, Harry is having one hell of a year. Between living out a fairy tale with Meghan Markle and all of his philanthropic efforts, Harry truly seems the happiest he's ever been. Oh, and let's not forget that he's also getting ready to become a dad! If only Princess Diana could see her "Ginger" now.
Adam Lambert's Cover of "Believe" Was So Stunning, It Brought Cher to Tears
Soon after Adam Lambert took the stage at the Kennedy Center Honors to perform Cher's hit "Believe," the audience found themselves tearing up - including Cher herself.
The the 41st annual event, which also saw Kelly Clarkson performing a cover of mother-in-law Reba's "Fancy," drew a star-studded crowd featuring the likes of Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda, Kristin Chenoweth, Amanda Seyfried, Whoopi Goldberg, and Lady Antebellum, among others. It's safe to say that all of them got a few rounds of full-body chills after Lambert started belting out the iconic 1998 track, which he stripped down and gave an emotional spin. By the end of his performance, the camera panned up to catch the 72-year-old superstar wiping tears from her eyes (coincidentally, I was also wiping a few from my own).
Watch the jaw-dropping moment above, and then if you still can't get enough Cher, check out all the reasons why you should go see The Cher Show on Broadway.
Game of Thrones: What to Know About "Great Other" and How He May Play Into the Finale
There are no shortage of gods in Game of Thrones, but one of the most important mystical names in the series is only mentioned once in passing - way back in season four.
At this point, everyone knows about the Lord of Light - also known as R'hllor - but the antithesis of Melisandre's god is rarely ever named. We're talking about the Great Other - a god that the Red Priestess tells Shireen Baratheon represents all things dark, cold, and evil. The Great Other is an agent of death who is locked in an eternal war with the Lord of Light. If the Great Other wins, then faith in R'hllor and the love and light he represent will be extinguished.
In the A Song of Ice and Fire books, Thoros of Myr describes the battle between the Great Other and R'hllor like this:
"Man once again faces the war for the dawn, which has been waged since time began. On one side is the Lord of Light, the Heart of Fire, the God of Flame and Shadow. Against him stands the Great Other, whose name may not be spoken. The Lord of Darkness, the Soul of Ice, the God of Night and Terror.
The Great Other shouldn't be confused with the Night King. At one point, the Night King was just a mortal man. The Children of the Forest are responsible for turning him into the monster he is now. He and his army are agents of the Great Other with a goal to do the bidding of their god. Melisandre even calls the White Walkers and the wights the "cold children" of the Great Other. Since the name of this mysterious god of the dark can't be spoken, it's unclear if he's meant to have an identity in the traditional sense.
One thing that fans can be certain of is the Great Other is a representation of death. In the books, Melisandre even believes that dreams are weapons used by the Great Other to pull people into the darkness. As always, the only answer to defeating this god of the cold and night is through a belief in R'hllor and his champion, Azor Ahai. Ultimately, the Great Other is simply the opposite of Melisandre's god.
Whether or not you believe that R'hllor and the Great Other truly exist depends largely on how much you buy into the theological aspects of the series. There's no denying that the amount of magic and unexplained happenings in Westeros has been on a steady rise since season one, so the idea that the Great Other has an identity that will be revealed isn't as far-fetched as it once was.
For that reason alone, you should keep an eye on the battle between light and dark, and the mortal agents tasked with fighting it, because it may be the key to Game of Thrones's grand finale.
OK, So What's the Deal With the "Monster" in Bird Box? Let's Discuss
Warning: Spoilers for Bird Box ahead!
Bird Box is one of the more confounding horror movies of recent memory, in that its monster - or monsters, plural . . . maybe? I'm still figuring it out - never actually reveals itself. Over the course of the hour-and-change that our heroine, Malorie (Sandra Bullock), fights for her life, as well as the lives of her two young children, we hear the monster and see the effects of the monster's destruction, plus all the ways survivors are forced to cope with their horrifying new reality. But the monster, whatever it is, remains invisible.
In Netflix's official summary of the film, the monster is referred to as "a mysterious force" that "decimates the world's population." The so-called entity - I'm actually going to take a page out of Star Wars' book and dub it the Force from here on out - does so by making whoever lays eyes on it commit suicide pretty much instantaneously in the most graphic way they can manage (caving their head in on the corner of a desk, walking in front of a dump truck, lighting themselves on fire, etc.). The only way Malorie and her fellow survivors are able to escape its influence is by making their way through the world blindfolded.
But when a new threat emerges - homicidal people who are driven crazy by the evil Force, but who somehow avoid its suicidal urges - Malorie realizes her only option is to make a perilous three-day journey down a treacherous river to a rumored safe haven. Of course, to do so, she and her kids have to stay blindfolded the entire time.
The film, which is like a cross between A Quiet Place and The Happening (an interesting mix, to say the least), also stars Sarah Paulson and John Malkovich, and is now streaming on Netflix. Whether you've already seen it and still have questions, or would rather go in with a little background on this monster/force/entity/whatever, let me enlighten you.
So, You're Saying the Force Is Invisible?
Well, yes. Technically. It can physically move things, or at least has a strong enough energy pulsing around it that it can blow leaves off the ground (like wind) and create a static effect with human hair, as we see in a later scene with Malorie's adopted, nameless daughter. It also seems to have a bit of a shadow whenever it sweeps by windows. By the end of the film, we discover that the Force can also mimic human voices to trick people into opening their eyes and seeing whatever it is. There are also instances of the Force being strong enough that it bangs on the roof of a car (the car's sensors also beep when the Force gets close), and it pushes Malorie and her kids around in a tense scene.
If It's Not Truly Invisible, What Do You See When It Reveals Itself to You?
We never witness what others see, but there are a few clues that suggest it either presents itself to someone as their ultimate sadness or fear. For instance, after Malorie's sister, Jessica (Paulson), sees it while driving, her eyes immediately flood with tears and she crashes the car, before limping out in front of a truck to end her life. We see something similar happen to the wife of Malkovich's character, Douglas, when she dies running outside to help a wounded, pregnant Malorie. "Mom?" she asks, staring at empty air, before her eyes glaze over - after a person "sees" the Force, their eyes blossom into a creepy, bloodshot kaleidoscope of oranges and browns - and she gets inside a burning car, igniting immediately. Douglas later tells Malorie that her mother has been dead for years.
What If You Look at the Force Through a Video Camera, iPhone Camera, or TV Screen?
Still a big ol' bowl of murderous nope! The survivors in the film actually try this trick, with BD Wong tying himself to a computer chair and attempting to get a glimpse of what's outside by looking at a computer monitor that's hooked up to the security cameras in the backyard. Apparently the Force is tech-savvy, sadly, because before long, Wong's character willingly caves his head in on the desk in front of him.
Is There a Reason Why People Like Gary Can Look at the Force Without Killing Themselves?
Gary, played by Bohemian Rhapsody's Tom Hollander, arrives at the sprawling home where Malorie and the rest of the survivors are staying, banging at the door and begging to be let in. Sweet-natured Olympia (Danielle Macdonald) opens the door for him without consulting anyone one else, and at first, it seems like Gary will be a fine addition to the crew (despite Douglas's very loud objections). However, before long, it's revealed that Gary is one of the few human beings out there who can survive after seeing the monsters. Why? Well, it's not exactly clear. We get hints that the people who can look at the Force and not commit suicide suffered from mental illness before the monsters arrived (Gary mentions that he was institutionalized). That doesn't mean they get off scot-free, though - rather than killing themselves, they begin zealously worshiping the Force, and try to force other survivors to "look" at it (to the point of holding others' eyelids open, yeesh).
Gary's arrival is also the only clue we get about what the Force might look like, at least to him; he comes equipped with a folder full of charcoal drawings of ridiculously creepy creatures, with too-long legs, screaming mouths, razor-sharp teeth, and even some that look vaguely like bug-human hybrids. Essentially, they look like demons. While it's pretty obvious that not all the creatures present themselves the same way to people (ex: Douglas's wife seeing the image of her dead mother), Gary's rendering of them might be their actual form.
Do You Know Where It Came From?
Hell? Space? We never find out.
Is There a Way to Defeat It?
The only way to prevent against running into the Force is by blindfolding yourself (or going old school and simply closing your eyes) and keeping a bird nearby. The titular birds of Bird Box actually serve a pretty important purpose - they can sense when the Force is close and start chirping in distress. Other than that, there doesn't seem to be an actual way to defeat it, or even fight it at all. We'll just have to let the writers of the inevitable Bird Box 2 figure that one out.

And since there are just way too many hilarious snapshots of Prince Harry, we've compiled some of the best ones that inadvertently encapsulate holiday sentiments. All the Dates You Need to Know For Netflix's 2019 Original Movie Premieres
We've said it once, and we'll say it again: Netflix is the gift that keeps on giving. Most traditional movie studios release around 30 movies a year, but in 2019, Netflix is looking to deliver at least three times as many new original film offerings.
According to a recent profile on Netflix published in The New York Times, Netflix's movie chief Scott Stuber has big plans for next year's must-see movies, with bigger budgets, more A-list stars, and more diversity than ever. Though most premiere dates have yet to be revealed, we'll be sure to keep you updated as we enter Netflix's biggest year yet. Once you jot down the dates, get a deeper look at each upcoming film.
Camilla Parker Bowles's Parents Weren't Royal, but They Were a High-Class Family
Although it once was the norm for members of the British royal family to only marry foreign royalty or British aristocrats, that's definitely not the case anymore. "Commoners" have become increasingly popular choices - in fact, the last direct-line royal to marry an aristocrat was Prince Charles during his failed first marriage to Diana, Princess of Wales (born Lady Diana Spencer). Charles's second wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, descends from a high-class family with some aristocratic heritage, but her parents were definitely not royalty.
The Duchess of Cornwall was born Camilla Shand, the eldest child of Major Bruce Shand and his wife Rosalind, nee the Honorable Rosalind Cubitt. While Rosalind was a lower-tier aristocrat (her father was a baron), Bruce's family was wealthy but not titled. Bruce was born in 1917. Following an international childhood spent in England, the US, and France, he joined the military and served during World War II, even spending nearly three years as a prisoner of war. He retired with the honorary rank of major and embarked on several other interests in retirement, from writing his memoir to working with wine merchants.
Rosalind, meanwhile, had a fairly typical aristocratic childhood from her birth in 1921. Her father was the heir to her grandfather's barony (which he inherited in 1947) and she was a notable debutante, with her debutante ball in 1939 being attended by King George VI and his wife Queen Elizabeth; the press named her "debutante of the year." She met Bruce following the war, and they married in 1946. Their first child, Camilla, was born the following year. Rosalind worked for an adoption agency and volunteered for a charity to help children with disabilities.
Sadly, only one of Camilla's parents lived to see her marry the love of her life and join the royal family. Although her father was still alive in when she wed Prince Charles in 2005, her mother died in 1994 after battling osteoporosis. Bruce died in 2006 from cancer. Look back on some of the couple's history with these pictures below!
10 TV Shows That Atypical Fans Will Love as Much as Sam Loves Penguins
Diversity in the media is more important than ever, which is why Atypical is seriously one of the best Netflix shows out there. The series follows Sam Gardner, a high school senior on the autism spectrum who decides that he's ready to shake off his doting parents and gain some independence - especially in his love life. Experiencing everything from his first girlfriend, to his first job, to increasing tension at home and with his younger sister, Atypical is both heartwarming and hilarious, and we can't wait for the third season to premiere. Until then, check out the gallery for 10 shows fans of Atypical will love.
What Does a Spare Prince Do? Here's What Prince Louis's Duties Will Be
"The heir and the spare" mantra is often repeated when it comes to the royal family: the idea that royals should have at least two children so that the line of succession is doubly secure. When it comes to the British royals, the younger generation has gone the extra mile - the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have not two but three children! The youngest, Prince Louis, is a "spare" twice over, since his older brother, Prince George, is in line to be king and his older sister, Princess Charlotte, is the first princess not displaced in the succession by the birth of a brother. While Prince Louis isn't concerned with much these days beyond napping and smiling, he's still going to have his share of royal duties one day.
Prince Louis is in an interesting position: he's pretty far from the throne - both his siblings are ahead of him in his generation - but he's in the direct line (his father and grandfather will both be kings), so he will probably be a royal in the vein of Prince Harry or Prince Andrew. What does that mean? Essentially, he won't ever be able to have a "real," nonroyal job. Instead, his life will be mostly spent with royal duties.
That doesn't mean he can't choose his focus! Like most royals, Louis will be expected, as an adult, to support certain causes that he feels passionately about and to be the patron of charities. He'll also be involved with state visits and royal tours, though not to the degree that his brother, George, will have to be, as a future king. Once he finishes school, Louis will probably serve in the military, as all men in the royal family traditionally do. Whether he actually serves in combat, like his uncle Harry famously did, will depend on the state of global politics at the time, as well as what the monarch (probably his grandfather Charles but possibly his father, Prince William) will permit as head of the royal family.
Prince Louis's duties will probably evolve as the throne changes hands, too, and they will also correspond with his aging into the ability to take on more responsibilities. Whatever the future holds, we're sure that his family will be right there, taking care of it all together!

Cyndi Lauper Surprised Cher With a Cover of Her Biggest Hit, and Her Reaction Was Priceless
This year's Kennedy Center Honors boasted plenty of stunning performances, but only one got everyone in the audience on their feet.
While Adam Lambert's emotional cover of Cher's "Believe" had people getting teary-eyed (including Cher herself), and Kelly Clarkson blew the crowd away with her powerful version of Reba McEntire's "Fancy," it was Cyndi Lauper's rendition of "If I Could Turn Back Time" that inspired audience members like Kristin Chenoweth, Amanda Seyfried, and Whoopi Goldberg to leap from their seats. As soon as Lauper took the stage, Cher burst out laughing and yelled down, "You told me you were going to Los Angeles!" Lauper smiled and simply said, "I lied," before diving into her spirited take on Cher's iconic 1989 hit.
The 72-year-old "I Got You Babe" singer, who recently celebrated the opening of a Broadway show about her life and career, was one of eight phenomenal artists honored for their contributions to the arts at the 41st annual event. In addition to Cher, McEntire, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, pianist Philip Glass, jazz saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter, director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, and music director Alex Lacamoire were all honored.

18 Female Characters Who Got Us Through 2018

And for many of us here at POPSUGAR, that meant escaping the endlessly depressing, gut-wrenching, ever-harrowing news headlines by getting lost in some seriously great movies and TV shows, even just for a few moments. There's only so much a face mask can fix, you know? (Even a really, really good face mask.)

Outlander's Executive Producer on the Tragic Repercussions of Brianna's Rape: "It's Horrific"
Warning: Spoilers for the "Wilmington" episode of Outlander, below.
It is no secret that over the years, Outlander has featured several instances of sexual violence against various characters, which is a sensitive subject for any television show to tackle. The latest episode, titled "Wilmington," broached the subject once again with one of the main characters, something that is sure to cause some backlash from viewers who might deem it an unnecessary plot point.
In "Wilmington," following a sweet night with Roger (Richard Rankin) - which starts out with a beautiful handfasting ceremony and consummation of their relationship - things end with Brianna (Sophie Skelton) in tears after learning Roger knew about her parents' obituary and purposely didn't tell her. She then walks dejectedly back to the pub where she and Lizzie (Caitlin O'Ryan) are staying.
Upon reaching the pub, Brianna spies the villainous Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speleers) gambling with her mother's silver wedding ring, which he stole when his men attacked Claire (Caitriona), Jamie (Sam Heughan) and their group on the barge to River Run. Brianna offers to buy it from Bonnet, but he instead wants sexual favors for it. She refuses to comply, and so he rapes her, later giving her the ring as "payment" because he's "an honest man" for a pirate. Bloodied and clearly traumatized, Bree takes the ring and walks away, stunned.
It's a stomach-turning scene, but one that executive producer Maril Davis says is very necessary to the ensuing plotlines of the show, which must follow the books as closely as they can.
"If you're a book fan, you know that. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who [hasn't read the books], but [the rape] would have been hard to keep out," Davis tells us.
While the producers and writers did feel that Brianna's rape was necessary to include, they of course wanted to approach it as sensitively as possible, and not make a spectacle out of the attack. They eventually decided that while they should definitely start in the room with Brianna and Bonnet, they wanted to shift the camera to shots of the men in the pub who could hear the attack and did nothing to help her, as a commentary on the time period.
"We approach every violent sexual encounter in different ways and try to be as sensitive as possible. Certainly in this one, we always knew in talking to the director and in prepping this episode, we wanted to start in the room with Brianna," says Davis, adding that they then wanted to show "how tragic it was that this poor girl has come from a different time and what a brutal introduction into this time - the fact that no one raised a hand or did anything to help her and the tragedy of that and how horrible it was for her."
"The tragedy of that still has repercussions on the victim, whether you see it or not."
We did have to ask Davis if she thought Outlander would perhaps receive the same criticism as Game of Thrones when it kept the rape of Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) largely off-screen and instead focused on Theon Greyjoy's (Alfie Allen) reaction to witnessing the attack. Davis says that they certainly might receive that criticism, but offers that the difference is that Game of Thrones made it about one specific character, rather than Outlander showing characters that the audience doesn't know and using that as more a commentary on the time than on the men's particular feelings. She also says that the repercussions in Brianna's life are integral to the story, and they will be felt whether the show chooses to put the rape on screen or not.
"I think no matter what you do, if someone is raped, it's horrific," Davis concludes. "Whether or not you see it or don't see it [on screen], it still happens. The tragedy of that still has repercussions on the victim, whether you see it or not."
A Deleted Scene From Bird Box Actually Showed the Creatures, and They Looked INSANE
One of the more divisive aspects of Bird Box, Netflix's latest horror film and a veritable meme factory, is the fact that we never get to find out much about the creatures that invade earth at the start of the film, forcing any human being who lays eyes on them to instantly commit suicide in grisly fashion - not even what they look like, or where they came from. For horror fans who prefer a more concrete ending (or plot in general, let's be real), Bird Box wraps up on a pretty frustrating note. That's what makes the revelation that a deleted scene actually showing the creatures exists all the more interesting.
During an interview with Bloody Disgusting, the cast and crew of the film revealed that the monsters we hear banging around outside of homes, cars, and rickety canoes almost made it into the movie. According to screenwriter Eric Heisserer, one of the film's producers felt that at least one of the creatures should be shown. A crazy sequence involving the lead character played by Sandra Bullock, Malorie, was whipped up, but in the end, the scene was removed from the final cut. Fortunately, Bullock explained exactly what went down in the shot:
"It was a green man with a horrific baby face. It was snake-like, and I was like, 'I don't want to see it when it first happens. Just bring it into the room. We'll shoot the scene.' I turn and he's like [growling at me.] It's making me laugh. It was just a long fat baby."
A "long fat baby," huh? Suddenly I'm very, very glad that the creative powers behind Bird Box decided against including that sequence.
The film was directed by Susanne Bier, and Heisserer adapted the story from Josh Malerman's bestselling novel of the same name. The horror film finds Bullock playing pregnant Malorie, who loses her sister (Sarah Paulson) to the strange creatures and then finds refuge amid the chaos in a home with a quirky collection of fellow survivors. Trevante Rhodes, John Malkovich, Lil Rel Howery, B.D. Wong, Danielle Mcdonald, and Tom Hollander costar.

OK, I Don't Think I'm Ready to Accept the Fact That These Songs Will Be 20 Years Old in 2019
We've had quite a few bops over the past few years, but nothing quite compares to '90s music. The decade blessed the masses with jams that made people fall in love, bust a move, and scratch our heads. For some reason, the 1990s still don't feel all that long ago. Maybe it's because I choose to be in denial about getting older, maybe time has simply flown - maybe, it's all of the above.
Regardless, the music during that era has maintained such prominence even now. You know good and well that Christina Aguilera's "Genie in a Bottle" still slaps, "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys is a bonafide classic, and when Juvenile's "Back That A** Up" comes on in the club, we're sprinting to the dance floor. So let's dance down memory lane, and look back at the musical masterpieces that are turning 20 next year.
We Have Some Strong Words For Whoever Decided to Cancel These Shows in 2018
We remember where we were when we heard the devastating news that Brooklyn Nine-Nine was canceled ahead of its sixth season. (For anyone curious, we were singing "No Tears Left To Cry" to ourselves while browsing Twitter.) Thankfully, NBC saved the day and announced it would pick up the show after Fox dropped it. While we're ecstatic for the show's Jan. 10 season premiere date, we can't help but shed a small tear that the same miracle was not extended to many other shows this year.
2018 was a year of much heartbreak in the entertainment world. Long-time shows The Middle, Once Upon a Time, The Big Bang Theory, New Girl, The Fosters, and Homeland didn't make the cut for 2019, but it's these 12 promising (semi)newcomers we're truly saddened to see go.

6 Artists Who Were Tired of Living in 2018, So They Made Nostalgic Videos Instead
This year could certainly be categorized as "rough," which could explain why so many of us were so obsessed with nostalgia in 2018. From switching up our fashion choices to binge-watching '90s reboots, looking back a couple of decades was all the rage - and music videos reflected it, too.
Drake reunited the cast of Degrassi: The Next Generation for his "I'm Upset" video back in May, and Charli XCX and Troye Sivan brought it back to the golden age of my youth for "1999." But most recently, Ariana Grande took us all on a trip down memory lane when she paid homage to classic 2000s teen movies in the fun-filled visuals for "Thank U, Next." Ahead, see which artists turned back time in their videos this year.

Curious About Why Aquaman's Postcredits Scene Is So Important? Here's the Deal
Warning: a tidal wave of spoilers for (and bad water-based puns about) Aquaman ahead!
Let's get this out of the way right now: yes, there's a postcredits scene in Aquaman. Well, technically it's a midcredits scene, which means, thank Poseidon, that you don't need to sit through the entirety of the credits to feast your eyes on the bonus footage. What's more is that there's just the one extra scene, so unless you truly enjoy watching the credits crawl by, you can be out the door faster than a sea creature screaming racist insults at Jason Momoa can vanish into the ocean floor (yes, a real thing that happens in this movie).
If, however, you're wondering what goes on in said midcredits scene, we've got you covered.
There are a handful of foes that Momoa's titular aqua-inclined superhero is forced to take on over the course of the film, from Patrick Wilson's King Orm to Dolph Lundgren's King Nereus. But also in the mix is Manta, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who is mostly memorable due to his, um, shall we say, interesting choice of suit (those giant red bug eyes aren't scaring anyone, my dude).
His vendetta against Aquaman, aka Arthur Curry, begins early on in the film when we encounter Manta and his father trying to violently overtake and ransack a Russian submarine. Their plan is foiled by Aquaman, who makes quick work of their crew, but in the ensuing confrontation, a large pipe falls on Manta's father and crushes him to the floor. As the sub fills with water, Manta begs Arthur to lift the pipe and save his dad. Aquaman is basically like, "This is the price you pay for being a pirate. Later." Manta's father drowns, but his grudge against Aquaman bubbles to the surface! (Hey, I warned you about these subpar water puns.)
So, back to the midcredits scene. If a future Aquaman sequel ever comes to be, the scene functions as a way to set things up for another potential conflict between Aquaman and Manta. You see, Aquaman defeats Manta in the third act by going head-to-head with the villain during a carnage-filled brawl through Sicily that ends with Aquaman smashing Manta's helmet and throwing him off a cliff.
That's the last we see of him until the midcredits scene picks up with Manta floating unconscious on some wood in the middle of the ocean. He's rescued by some men on a boat who don't seem all that important at first . . . until a shot of the boat's interior reveals whoever owns it is clearly interested in learning more about Aquaman's identity (newspaper clippings posted inside have that red "I'm a crazy conspiracy theorist" string hanging all over them). It doesn't take long before said conspiracy theorist is revealed to be Doctor Stephen Shin (Randall Park), who makes a pact with Manta: if Manta can lead Shin to Atlantis, the scientist will not only fix his broken helmet but also help him find out Aquaman's true identity.
If Shin does indeed team up with Manta, Aquaman might be in real trouble. After all, the doctor is a renowned scientist with genius-level intellect in the comics, so crazy conspiracies or not, he could certainly help Manta get the revenge he so desires. A sequel has yet to be confirmed, so in the meantime, we'll have to do a little theorizing of our own.
How Prince George's Royal Duties Will Evolve Over the Next Few Years
At the moment, Prince George of Cambridge has two jobs: attending school and being the cutest little boy in the world. But all that will change someday in the near future. After all, the prince isn't just any member of the royal family; he's a direct heir to the throne and a future king! Royals often start their duties early, especially if they're so close to the throne. What sort of royal responsibilities will Prince George eventually take on?
George's age means that his responsibilities are minimal at the moment. So far, he's made a few appearances with the rest of his family and served in the wedding parties of his uncle and aunt, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and his father's cousin Princess Eugenie. Otherwise, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have deliberately kept his life private in order to give him as normal a childhood as possible. However, his royal duties started when he was less than a year old: he went on his first royal tour, breaking protocol in the process, at the age of 9 months in 2014. Those trips are likely to increase as he gets older, although he will still be expected to put his education first.
If we want a good idea of what George's future looks like, we should look at his father, Prince William, who also grew up as a modern heir. Prince William attended elite schools, which George is also likely to do, and focused on his education, with only a handful of public appearances alongside senior royals. George will also probably follow in the footsteps of the other men in the royal family and serve in the British military once he is of age. He might become a pilot like his father or join the army like his uncle Harry!
Once George reaches adulthood, his duties are likely to increase exponentially for a number of reasons. By that point in time, it's pretty certain that his grandfather Charles will be the king, bumping George up to second in line for the throne, behind his father, who will become Prince of Wales. His age and his increased nearness to the throne will likely result in an increase of his duties across the board, from state occasions to meeting foreign dignitaries to charity patronages and more. Like his father, George will be trained from an early age on matters of state, preparing him for the day when he becomes king himself.
Unlike other royals, whose duties are more for show and for charity work, George will always undertake his responsibilities with the understanding that he will sit on the throne one day.
