Reese Witherspoon's Draper James Launched a New Collection With Sizes For Curvy Girls
Draper James has some exciting things on the horizon for its newest line. Last year, Reese Witherspoon's Southern-inspired lifestyle brand partnered with Eloquii to create a limited-edition line of clothing in extended sizes for its Spring collection. Now, after tapping Kathryn Sukey as its new head of design, Draper James is permanently stocking sizes 0 to 24 in its offerings.
"This is a launch that is so close to my heart," Witherspoon said in a statement. "We learn so much from communicating with our customers on social media, and this is something they were asking for. We were able to take the positive feedback from our shoppers and women who wanted to wear our clothes and work to create these new inclusive pieces for them."
All of the items being sold will be made with the same prints, patterns, and fabrics and will be sold at the same price points. Read ahead to see some options from the new collection and to shop a few of the styles.
Taylor Swift's Shearling Denim Jacket Might Be Covered in Cat Hair, but We Love It Anyways
In case you weren't aware, Taylor Swift LOVES cats. The 29-year-old singer confirmed that she's starring in the film adaptation of the hit musical Cats. While hanging out in her trailer, she posted a selfie wearing a denim jacket from Free People that came with a brown shearling collar. She styled the fuzzy coat with a cream-colored sweater and a thin gold chain. The singer hysterically captioned the photo, "This trailer courtesy of Cats the film. Cat hair on my jacket courtesy of actual cats, Meredith and Olivia." Read on to get a closer look and see similar styles.
This Is Every Way You Could Possibly Wear the Off-White Belt
Of the hundreds of Safari tabs left open on my phone, I've searched "How to wear Off-White belt" 20-something times. And now that I actually have one of the highly coveted belts, I'm still screaming from my closet, "Siri, how the hell do I wear this thing?!"
The 200-cm.-long Off-White Industrial Belt is about 100 cm. too long for my uncoordinated hands to maneuver around my waist . . . at least not with the effortless style of Beyoncé, Bella Hadid, or one of Virgil Abloh's other famous friends. Not to mention, mine is caution-tape yellow.
But it's time I clear my search history and never look back. We've rounded up every way you can possibly style the Off-White belt, from around the waist to around your neck, from blogger street style to celebrity Instagrams. The Off-White Industrial Belt ($190-$390) is available online in 45 different colors and styles, including mini and rubber, so shop it once you've got enough inspiration under your belt - pun totally intended.

Great tights are the unsung hero of our Winter wardrobe. They might not get as much appreciation as a great coat or go-to boot, but they can make or break an outfit. Plus, they save you from having to constantly wear pants. This season, if you're in an outfit rut, grab your favorite dress and a great pair of tights. We found 16 pairs that will hold up under pressure.
2019's Most Wearable Trends
Gazing into a crystal ball would be fun, but the Spring 2019 runways are the surest predictors of the trends that'll line your closet. For the nostalgic type, designers revived some oldies-but-goodies with a contemporary spin - bucket hats and flip-flops, crocheted items, and sweet cardigans. And for the risk-taker, there's plenty of new fodder: a throwback to the iconic pop-star aesthetic from the early aughts - think low-slung hip-huggers and corsets, the likes of which will conjure up images from Britney's heyday. Beyond that, there's a soft new color palette to love - dreamy sorbet colors that'll deliver a much-needed spot of sunshine when your wardrobe needs it most. We know, we hate waiting, too; but get a first glimpse at what's to come when Spring 2019 hits.

The Dating Mistakes to Avoid in 2019, According to Professional Matchmaker Patti Stanger
I've been called a dating expert a time or two, and as soon as someone gets categorized this way, it begs the question: if you're so good at dating, why are you still single? Because coaches don't play.
I wish it were that simple, because that'd be a great mic-drop answer. Really, it's because I'm not an expert; I just do the dating thing a lot and then write about it. I've made plenty of mistakes, including that time I scheduled back-to-back dates in one night and mixed up their names, so they both got very confusing text messages about timing and meetup locations. As one of my favorite writers, Matteson Perry, shared with me, "Though it's called 'casual dating,' to do it right, you have to be as organized and detail-oriented as an air-traffic controller. Regular communication, scheduling, and planning are key, especially if you're dating more than one person at a time."
Matteson is on the money, and his words got me thinking about the bigger, more classic mistakes that we all make when dating. As the new year kicks off and we resolve to fix our dating faux pas in 2019, we're going to need some words of wisdom from the queen of tough love herself. I sat down with the one and only "Millionaire Matchmaker," Patti Stanger, for some no-nonsense talk about what we're doing wrong and, more importantly, how to fix it in 2019.
Coolest Newlyweds EVER Skied Down the Slopes Right After Saying "I Do"
Most newlyweds share a first dance after exchanging vows, but Bec and Dan replaced the tradition with their first ski as husband and wife. The bride knew she wanted to ski in her wedding gown, so when Dan popped the question, they immediately began looking for the perfect ski resort to host their alpine wedding. They decided on Mayrhofen in Austria, which allowed them to have a mountaintop ceremony and ski down the slope straight from their venue. These two definitely take the coolest couple award.

There are places around the world that are ideal for wellness seekers, specifically, but this list includes options that are both relaxing and active, so you can find a healthy balance between the two. Keep reading to see your best options for the year ahead.
This New California T-Shirt Isn't Just Cute - It Also Contributes to Wildfire Relief Donations
Communities are still building themselves back up after the horrendous damage caused by the fires in Northern and Southern California that blazed throughout November. To continue supporting relief efforts, LA-based company With Seven launched the All For One t-shirt on Feb. 1, with all proceeds benefiting California Strong.
Not only is the shirt a direct donation to those affected by the Camp, Woolsey, and Hill Fires, but it's also cute as heck. Hannah Minardi, co-founder of With Seven, described the shirts as "a tribute to the families, victims, and first responders who were involved in the tragic events that our state of California experienced. We are excited to get as many people involved as possible."
All proceeds from the purchases specifically benefit the California Strong, which supports those impacted by the Camp Fire in Northern California and the Woolsey and Hill Fires in Southern California. As a San Francisco resident and California-lover, I love the "all for one" message and design of the shirt, which features a red and white take on the symbol of Highway 1 - the legendary road that connects Northern and Southern California in its several iterations.
The unisex shirt is available in sizes S-XXL for $45. Shop it ahead, and feel good about the next thing you add to your closet.
It's So Cold Out That Parts of Niagara Falls Are Freezing - See the Stunning Photos
Niagara Falls, while usually cold this time of year, is looking particularly frigid these days. Winter Storm Harper swept through the nation in mid-January, dumping several inches of snow in the Northwest, the Northeast, and many states in between. The storm brought snow showers to Niagara Falls on Jan. 18, which then continued throughout the weekend. Temperatures sank as low as -1 degree Fahrenheit on Jan. 20. While the weather might have made for a rather brutal experience for visitors of the famous park, the icy conditions allowed for some really spectacular photos. Check out a few brave tourists' photos ahead.

Here’s How You Can Help People Experiencing Homelessness During the Polar Vortex
As a polar vortex sweeps across the Midwest, many people bundle up inside, hands over heaters, hidden away from subzero temperatures. But some citizens are left in the cold. Record-breaking temperatures lower than Siberia, the Arctic, and even Mars have already led to the deaths of eight people - and more than 80,000 people remain on the streets fighting to not just stay warm but to stay alive.
In Chicago, one anonymous donor went viral for picking up the hotel tab for 70 people experiencing homelessness after they were evacuated from a tent city at risk of exploding propane tanks, according to the Chicago Tribune. We may not all have the means to go to such incredible lengths, but there are plenty of ways you can help. Ahead are resources so you can aid those without adequate shelter.

Please Excuse Me While I Swan Dive Right Into a Bag of the New White Cheddar Cheetos Bites
I'm just going to put it out there and say that white cheddar snacks are the best. Why that's so, I'm not sure, but it might have something to do with noninvasive *light* colored dust all over my fingers, as opposed to the stark orange Cheetos dust. Anyway, for as long as I can remember, I've been a white cheddar snack fanatic, and in exciting food world news, we've got a new product on our hands. Say hello to Cheetos White Cheddar Bites.
The new product was spotted by Instagram user thejunkfoodaisle at Safeway, and we're already wondering if we can get this in the tub size. Food blogger The Impulsive Buy has also spotted the snack at Safeway. Cheetos has been diving into the white cheddar world for a few years now, with the Simply Cheetos Puffs White Cheddar (a personal favorite) and the limited-edition Winter White Cheddar Curls. The second I see the new Cheetos White Cheddar Bites, I'll be swan diving into a bag myself. While the brand has not yet confirmed the new product release, make sure to keep an eye out in stores for the white cheddar product addition.
On Being Called "Brown Sugar" and "Oprah" in Morocco
It's a truth universally acknowledged that when you complain to an ignorant man about being catcalled, they'll say you should take it as a compliment. And when you further explain that being catcalled abroad is even worse, they'll mansplain to you that it's just the way the culture is and you should just suck it up and expect it if you're going to travel.
I don't recall being whistled at or spoken to like a sexual object much in my youth. I wasn't exactly the ideal standard of beauty in my small town, so it wasn't until I moved away to bigger cities that I realized that this unfortunate act of catcalling was something that could happen to me. And sadly, as I've gotten older and lived in cities such as Los Angeles, London, and New York, it's only gotten worse. I'll never enjoy being on the receiving end of it and certainly do not consider it flattering.
My adventurous nature took me on a trip to Morocco after finding extremely inexpensive flights. It was a country I had heard so much about and just had to figure out if all the hype was justified. Thankfully, I was overjoyed to find out that it exceeded my expectations. Morocco is an intense blend of old and new. The vibrant colors, smells of spices, and old ruins were fulfilling my Indiana Jones fantasies.
In my research, before I arrived, it was made clear that the men of Morocco tended more toward the aggressive side when it came to interactions with women. I had faced many sexual remarks toward me in my travels to other locations but didn't want to go in with a bad attitude about this and have it ruin the trip. From the moment I landed in the North African country, a barrage of physical remarks rained down upon me. My inner angry feminist was enraged.
It's a complicated feeling to want to change the world and how women are treated, but then to try and respect the culture of a country and not go in with a stubborn mind on how things are done. I wanted so badly to stand up for myself, but I also didn't want to cause a scene. I just let it be because I wanted to enjoy my time there, even if it meant feeling tremendously uncomfortable.
I do have to give it to Moroccan catcallers, though, for their creativity. When I'm walking around New York City, I just get a honk and suggestive look from a car as it passes by, or told that I should be smiling by a stranger who thinks he should get to dictate what my face looks like for him. Or I might be trying to innocently enjoy a museum when a security guard comes up to me and whispers right up in my ear in a creepy voice that he thinks I'm pretty. At least in Morocco, I received the borderline sexual harassment compliments with a bit of flair.
Morocco is insanely gorgeous and I don't want to miss out on seeing more of it just because some random guy called me Brown Sugar.
As a curvy black woman, some of my favorite names I've been called in Morocco are Beyoncé, Brown Sugar, Oprah, Bob Marley, and Whoopi Goldberg. I guess in a way I certainly do feel flattered. Beyoncé, Oprah, and Whoopi's careers are literally my life goals, so being compared to them could be considered a bit nice. Brown Sugar feels a little obvious, but at least it's sweet. And traveling with long, thick braids, I guess I was just asking for the Bob Marley comparisons.
I realize that a lot of it has to do with being a marketing tactic to make people pay attention to them and possibly come over to buy their products. The culture is that of hustling as hard as possible to make enough money to support themselves or their families, so I understand that it's all about how to gain new customers. And I'm sure I didn't notice if they were also saying things to men as well since I was in my own head a lot with each new name they called me.
Despite being treated this way, I went back to Morocco a year later and still have plans to go again in the near future. The thing is, it definitely may suck for a woman to have to endure these sexist moments while seeing the world, but the fact of the matter is that Morocco is insanely gorgeous and I don't want to miss out on seeing more of it just because some random guy called me Brown Sugar.
Morocco is still one of my favorite countries I've been to, and the first location I mention when people ask me for suggestions of places to go. The culture may not be the most attractive thing for a Westernized feminist to have to digest, but it's good to get outside of your comfort zone and face those that haven't been brought fully up to speed on how many women don't like to be spoken to. My inner Oprah gives me the serenity to face anything, including being called Oprah by someone who needs to back away five steps and not touch me, please.
The Skincare Launches Our Editors Are Heads Over Heels Over
There's a lot to love about the month of February: Chipotle is all but cleared out come dinner time on Feb. 14, candy prices are slashed in half by Feb. 15, and plenty of new skincare products are dropping by the day, just waiting to have you at hello.
Unlike Valentine's Day or your Craigslist Missed Connection on the 6 train, these face creams, cleansers, and treatments aren't going anywhere. To help make sure you're swiping right on your next beauty purchase, we've asked POPSUGAR Beauty editors to share their favorite skincare formulas on the market. Everyone knows that "newly in love" glow has to come from somewhere.
Gray Is the New Black - Jump on the "Gray Space" Nail Trend With These Inspiring Looks
With overwhelming numbers of nail polish colors to choose from, it can be hard to narrow it down to just the right color. What will stand out, while also not standing out too much? What will complement your outfits, while also blending in? The never-ending nail polish choice haunts you every time you walk into the nail salon. However, today that pressure is over. The "gray space" nail trend is here, and it's perfect for every occasion. Gray can be cool and calming or it can be done-up and exciting. It can be subtle or make a fashion-forward statement.
The next time you're at the nail salon, look for the gray hues to get you through.
Herbivore Botanicals' Prism Is More Intense Than Its Instagrammable Bottle Lets On
Nothing about Herbivore Botanicals Prism Glow Potion ($62) says that it has a hardcore formulation. It's not wrapped in packaging that looks like it's from a dermatologist's office (it's actually in a very Instagrammable, minimalist bottle). There's no explicit warning plastered on its label. But don't underestimate its ability to completely smooth out your complexion.
For the past three weeks, I've been dispensing three to four drops of the serum into my hands and patting it into my skin every night before bed. In the first evenings that I'd tested it, I thought it smelled pungent with citrus (don't worry, that fades away after you apply your favorite moisturizer). But my skin looked immediately rejuvenated and bright once it sank into my skin. With a few more days of use, my complexion began to look more uniform, and the texture of my skin didn't feel as dry or bumpy in the areas where it was typically. It was the blend of the various gentle fruit exfoliators that worked its magic on my skin. Though, I did experience a bit of irritation one day after being outside for too long (which was completely my fault, because I hadn't remembered to apply sunscreen).
Ahead, see Prism in all of its gorgeous glory.
This $5 Mascara Curled My Eyelashes So Much, They Might Poke My Eye Out
For me, nothing is quite as satisfying as a really good mascara. I want my lashes to stretch to the heavens and wack my eyebrows in the face. Otherwise, what's even the point? I've long been a fan of Essence Lash Princess Mascara ($5), which thickens and volumizes exceptionally well and costs less than my morning Starbucks drink. So, when I learned that the brand was coming out with a new mascara, I knew I needed to try it.
The I Love Extreme Curl and Volume Mascara ($5) is an expansion from the brand's existing "I love extreme" line, and has a jumbo brush featuring a longer winding staircase pattern within the bristles. While the wand seems bigger than both my eyes combined, there's no denying these results. It made my lashes long, dark, thick, and curlier than I ever knew I wanted them to be. The curling effect also really opened up and called attention to my eyes, one of my favorite features. Check out the before-and-after images ahead, and pick up your own at Ulta.

You finally survived the polar vortex of January, and potentially without alcohol, so it's time to reward yourself with what you crave most: new makeup. Fortunately, there's no better time to shop for your favorite color products than the beginning of the year when all your favorite brands launch new, exciting, and innovating products.
Brow pens, complexion-changing concealers, and cult-favorite shade expansions all blew POPSUGAR editors' minds over the last month, and they've rounded up their very favorites for you to browse. Check them out ahead.

9 Deodorant Wipes to Take With You on the Go
Deodorant wipes have been around for a few years, but lately, the convenient product has been popping up everywhere. Huge drugstore brands like Dove and Degree have been putting out their own varieties for customers to choose from, giving you tons of options based on your needs. Whether you're an aluminum-free lover, are partial to certain smells, or just want a superstrong antiperspirant, you'll be able to find one that you'll fall in love with. Ahead, check out some of the best varieties on the market that will turn you into a wipe convert.
This $8 Highlighter Is Just as Good as (If Not Better Than) Some of My Expensive Ones
In an attempt to KonMari my beauty stash, I found that the most difficult products for me to part with were my highlighters. The hyperreflective powders, creams, and sticks had taken up so much space on my vanity because I loved each and every one of them for what I thought were different reasons. It wasn't until my friend said, "They look exactly the same," that I admitted to myself that he was right: I was looking at a sea of similar golds and champagnes. So when I came across the Sleek Makeup Highlighting Elixir ($8) in Champagne, I thought, "There's no way I need this in my life."
I still swatched it (that's my job, after all). I'd seen Redditors' glowing comments about the brand, and I had to know if this particular highlighter lived up to the hype. I dispensed half a drop onto the back of my hand and swiped my finger across it to find that it was extremely pigmented. I tapped another half drop onto my cheekbones and let it set into its powdery finish. The result was an intense glow - the kind of glow people only really get from having a ring light in front of them - that would not move.
Sleek's rendition of champagne made me reassess the highlighters on my vanity. Somehow it made parting with them that much easier.
This Is the Only Face Mask I've Tried That Gives Me Glowing Skin Overnight
"Your skin looks great."
It's one of the greatest compliments I can receive. As someone who has battled with my skin for years, I am finally being diligent about my skin care. I've learned that too much product overwhelms my face, so I stick to a few tried and true steps in my everyday routine. The one area I'm really excited to experiment with is masks. As previously stated, I've had a few skin issues I've tried to correct, among them clogged pores, acne scars, and dullness. All that means masks are my friends, and I very much believe in their power to change your face.
But back to this compliment. It came from a fellow beauty editor, and I know she wouldn't say anything if it weren't true. I mentally went back through the past few days and nights. Had I eaten something different? Drank more water? Nope, but I had been using this Kora Organics Noni Glow Sleeping Mask ($48) all week. And let me tell you, it is magic.
Related: This Magical Serum Completely Transformed My Hair, and You Can Buy It on Amazon
Kora Organics was started by Miranda Kerr. Her skin is flawless, and when she started this certified organic line of products, people clamored to finally get some supermodel secrets. This mask in particular is a sleeping mask, meaning you apply it, then go to bed, rinsing it off the next morning. This is ideal for a lazy girl like me. The texture is light and bouncy, and a little bit sticky at first, but give it five minutes and it soaks in nicely. I've tried other masks before that claim to give your skin a serious glow, and nothing has come close to the results I get from this one. My skin looks healthy, hydrated, and bouncy, like I've just had a facial.
No matter what type of skin you have, I highly recommend this face mask. As someone who's all about results, this delivers big time. Even in the dead of Winter, I look like I've just come off the beach. The product is certified "clean" at Sephora, meaning there's no sulfates, parabens, or formaldehydes, plus, the whole line is organic; it's something I really feel good about putting on my face. Don't sleep on this one.

I Lived the Goop Lifestyle For a Week and Didn't Hate It as Much as I Thought I Would
Gwyneth Paltrow is the kind of person who swears by quartz stones and "breath work," and thinks pricking your face with a bee stinger is the secret to great skin. I, on the other hand, am about as holistic as a loaf of Wonder Bread. (We can probably all agree there's room for growth on both ends.)
Still, there's something wildly appealing about Paltrow's intentional approach to beauty and self-care - an area I could stand to widen. Could there be a method behind the madness of floating around in a pod-shaped tank of salt water? Or spiking your coffee with powder supplements? I was determined to find out.
In an effort to live my best Goop-inspired life, last week I searched the depths of my bedroom for a years-old gift card to Lift, downloaded her extensive 5-Day Detox, and stocked up on products from her nontoxic beauty line. What came next was a surprise to me: I, too, discovered the balance between cigarettes and tofu . . . and I liked it.

This $16 Eyebrow Pencil From Amazon Made Me Throw All My Others in the Trash
I spent my teenage years plucking off my already sparse eyebrows in the hopes it would turn me into Kate Moss. Now, I'm spending most of my 20s investing time and money into getting them back. From dyeing them to using growth serum, makeup pens, gels, and powders, my brows have seen it all. But recently, I came across a product that replaced almost everything in my overflowing drawer. I gave this P/Y/T Beauty Brow Pencil ($16) a try and haven't used another product since.
The consistency of the pencil is like a gel, pen, and powder all rolled into one.
The consistency of the pencil is like a gel, pen, and powder all rolled into one. It glides on my skin without looking overly done, and most importantly, it doesn't come off until I use makeup remover. This is the first time that filling in all those bald gaps actually looks natural. Another huge selling point for me is that the pencil is hypoallergenic and paraben-, paraffin-, and cruelty-free. So, what are you waiting for? Try it for yourself. It is available on Amazon Prime and will be delivered right to your door in just two days.

6 Influencer-Approved Sunscreens That Blend Flawlessly Into Brown Skin
Slathering on sunscreen every day might feel like an extra task, but it's an essential part of every beauty routine. Not only will SPF protect you from harmful UV rays (you can see the danger of lack of sun protection here), but it will also help prevent burning, discoloration, and other topical issues from occurring on the skin.
But even though SPF is a crucial part of a skincare regimen, it hasn't always been the most flattering on brown skin. Many formulas have been notorious for leaving behind an ashy blue or gray tint when applied to warm complexions, causing some people of color to eliminate the step altogether.
The good news, however, is that all sunscreens are not created equal and there are a ton on the market that won't make people of color look ghostly. If you've been on the hunt for sun protection that won't compromise your complexion, we've tapped the beauty influencers you trust to share which SPF products they use on their brown skin - check them out ahead.
My Pregnant Skin Has Been Terribly Dull - Until I Found This Miracle Worker
Pregnancy is a beautiful miracle, but damn, has it been taking a toll on my skin. Yes, there are ways to avoid acne while pregnant, but my first-trimester breakouts just gave way to dull, oily skin and blackheads due to hormone fluctuations in my second trimester. My lifelong obsession with skincare means approximately nil when I have to throw away my pricey, heavy-duty products in favor of gentle cleansers sans salicylic acid and moisturizers void of retinoids.
I stocked up on a few of my favorite organic skincare products and gave myself weekly facials, but still my skin had the texture of an old nail buff. Where was that pregnant glow I'd heard about from so many people? Even my mother told me I was probably having a boy, because when you're carrying a girl, you look extra beautiful. (Real cool, Mom.)
Then, like magic, an email landed in my inbox. "Safe Skincare Solutions During Pregnancy," the subject line read. It was a message from PMD Beauty about the brand's signature tool: a personal microderm device that was guaranteed to be safe enough for use during any stage of pregnancy. I could not request this product fast enough, y'all.
If you're not familiar with how personal microderm works, it's pretty simple. The handheld device has a plastic head that you press firmly against your skin. At the very top of the head, there's a small spinning disc coated with aluminum oxide crystals, which buffs away your top layer of dead skin. The key is that the tool also provide vacuum suction, so the disc gets as close to your skin as possible, increasing circulation and stimulating new cell growth. (New cells equals smooth, glowing skin.) Once that layer of dull skin is removed, the products you put on your face will be more effective, because you're not wasting them on skin that is dying anyway; those good-for-you ingredients are going straight to the new, clean layer of skin and making it even healthier.
There are a few different versions of the tool, and PMD Beauty sent me the Personal Microderm Pro ($199), which includes two speed settings and a full range of abrasion discs for your face and body. It also comes in nine colors, natch. It boasts a five-star rating from over 90 reviewers (many of whom included superhelpful photos) on the official website, while the Classic ($159) received a solid four stars on Amazon. It features fewer bells and whistles, but it'll get the job done.
The first time I used Personal Microderm was a bit jarring; it's not like any product I've used on my face before. The vacuum suction is real, and it took practice to be able to move it in smooth strokes across my face. As gross as it may sound, it felt extremely rewarding to see flakes of dead skin rolling off my cheeks as the discs exfoliated that top layer. It's a quick process, as you just want to go over each part of your face once in a swift upward motion. (Do not overdo it - you will end up with a tomato-red face.)
I added the Personal Microderm treatment to my weekly facial routine, and within a month I saw an improvement in the overall tone of my skin. My face was softer, I had fewer small acneic bumps around my chin, and my serums and moisturizers were noticeably soaking into my skin faster. I felt better about the gentle, organic products that I was using, because I knew the ingredients were penetrating below the surface and working beautiful skincare magic. While my skin isn't quite up to prepregnancy status, it might be good enough to trick my mom into thinking it's a girl.
Here's Why Divorce Just Isn't an Option For Us
A little over 11 years ago, my husband and I stood together in a room full of our family and friends - and a few random, obscure cousins no one had ever mentioned until it was time to mail out wedding invitations - and promised to love each other in good times and in bad. I meant those words when I said them that day, but the truth is I didn't really understand their true implication. We were just kids who fell in love and thought the security marriage offered seemed like a pretty solid way to go. But we also respected the institution and wouldn't have bothered getting hitched if we weren't planning on staying together. And even though we were young enough to stay out drinking all night, then go to work the next day without feeling even remotely hungover, my husband and I believed then that marriage was a lifelong commitment and that divorce wasn't really an option.

I know now how naive I was when I repeated my vows that day. Because I distinctly remember looking at our pastor and thinking, "How bad could times get?" Oh, if only I could go back and tell that dewy-skinned bride she would come to know very bad times. I'd tap my dapper new hubby's shoulder and gently whisper in his ear how our fairly naive sense of what fidelity meant would be more than tested. But the wiser, more-hardened-by-life me would also want that beaming, wide-eyed couple to know they'd get through the toughest of times, grow to appreciate their dedication to each other, and respect the sanctity of marriage more than they ever thought possible.
That may sound all glossy and pretty, but know that the word "divorce" has been uttered in our home many times. I whimpered it from the floor of our foyer, where I lay, deeply depressed, after losing a baby late in pregnancy. "How can we stay together when our lives have fallen so spectacularly to pieces?" I wondered, my grief so raw and out in the open, while his was hidden behind a strong exterior as he carried on with his life as if nothing had happened. The word "divorce" was paraded about again during the many months we spent apart due to career obligations. I figured, why keep trying so damn hard to keep our marriage alive if the universe was so intent on forcing us to be apart? There have been other tough times; we were eaten alive by the bad housing market, and we've fought bitterly over in-laws, finances, and, ironically, how we fight so differently from each other. We've been dug down deep in the trenches of raising four kids, working opposite schedules, and subsisting on no sleep, leftovers, and hope things would get just a tad easier.
Here's the beauty of surviving really awful, brutal, miserable, sometimes heartbreaking bad times: you realize that if you were going to split up, you would have done it already.
But here's the beauty of surviving really awful, brutal, miserable, sometimes heartbreaking bad times: you realize that if you were going to split up, you would have done it already. That if you managed to weather all that sh*t - and you've said the worst things to each other, you've thrown the "d" word out, you've cried and driven away, flown away, slept on the sofa, at a hotel, literally been sure you hated the other person for even being born - well, from there, you can exhale. And accept that the two of you are in this - really, truly, 100 percent in it. That there's no splitting up; there's only sticking together through it all. At this point, what we've built is so strong, the bad times don't have a chance to topple our foundation. I'll stop short at saying we laugh in the face of bad times, but you get my point.
It's hard to imagine that something else could happen in the future for us to even consider ending our marriage. Of course, before any of that other stuff happened, it was hard to imagine, too. Unfortunately, you just never know where life will take you, but that's something you're promising to deal with together when you say "I do." So, I'm sure in another decade, I'll be reflecting on the challenges my husband and I have faced. As I contemplate the many highs and lows we will have undoubtedly experienced, I can only hope he is right there by my side. And that we are as devoted to this union then as we are today. And that we have even more reverence for the vows we spoke to each other on our wedding day, all those years ago.
Joe Will Face Off Against Haunting of Hill House's Victoria Pedretti in Season 2 of You
Netflix's The Haunting of Hill House is one of those great shows that one half of you wants to go on forever, while the other, smarter half knows that it's best to let it end in peace. Despite the fact that a second season of the horror-drama is unlikely, we don't have to say goodbye to seeing the Crane family alive and well on the streaming giant (well, technically) - Victoria Pedretti, who plays Nell Crane, has just been cast in the second season of You.
After the show experienced a surge in popularity after switching from Lifetime to Netflix, fans of You have been desperate to find out what deranged serial killer Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) is going to get up to next. So far we've heard that the show is moving from being set in New York City to Los Angeles, where Candace presumably runs off to after confronting Joe inside Mooney's at the end of season one and filling him in on the fact that - Surprise! - he didn't succeed in murdering her after all. Or, at least, it seems that way. Joe has been known to hallucinate quite a bit, so we won't be sure until the show returns.
Now, Netflix has confirmed through its See What's Next Twitter account that Pedretti will play a key character named Love Quinn (yes, LOVE QUINN) in season two: "Haunting of Hill House breakout Victoria Pedretti landed the female lead in @YouNetflix Season 2. She plays Love Quinn, an aspiring chef who doesn't care about social media. She's also tending to a deep grief - so when she meets Joe, she senses a shared knowledge of profound loss."

Based on that one tweet we already have a ton of questions. What "profound loss" has she experienced? How will Joe stalk her every move if she doesn't have social media? Is he really and truly over Beck? Will we ever figure out which You writer is responsible for coming up with the name "Love Quinn"?!?
A premiere date for the second season has yet to be nailed down, but we can likely expect plenty more stomach-twisting antics from Badgley's Joe (and Love!) come 2019. In the meantime, hopefully Netflix continues to churn out cheeky jokes about the news:

Michelle Pfeiffer Teases a Positively Regal Look at Her Maleficent 2 Character

The new queen is here, and she's bad as hell.
Michelle Pfeiffer shared a look at her character from the upcoming sequel to Maleficent on Instagram on Jan. 29, which serves as the official first glimpse of Queen Ingrith (even though it only shows half of her face). In the photo, Pfeiffer wears a silver outfit and has her curly hair tied back with tiny pearls. She also has a multiple-strand pearl hairpiece hanging from two brooches clipped beside her ears. "A little tease of Queen Ingrith," the actress captioned the photo, adding the hashtag for Maleficent 2.
According to earlier reports, Queen Ingrith is the mother of Prince Phillip, who falls in love with Elle Fanning's Aurora in the first film. We're not sure if this queen will be friend or foe to Aurora and Angelina Jolie's Maleficent, but there's no doubt Pfeiffer will crush the role either way.
It's been almost five years since we were dazzled by Maleficent's tale of chosen families, and we're more than ready for the sequel. We won't be getting Maleficent 2 anytime this year (the film's release date was pushed back to May 29, 2020), but the cast has dropped enough sneak peeks to get us excited! While the first installment ends with Aurora and Maleficent ruling over their respective kingdoms, the second film will find Maleficent and Aurora facing new adversaries in their battle to protect the magical creatures living in the moors.
Will Pfeiffer's Queen Ingrith be one of those standing in their way? We all know Disney loves an evil queen, and frankly, so do we. But it would also be awesome to see the three women come together to lock horns and take down whatever nasties try to mess with them. We'll have to wait until May 2020 to see how it all goes down, but we can't wait to see how Queen Ingrith's story plays out!
