Netflix Removed Joe's Voiceover From You, and I've Never Seen Anything So Awkward in My Life

One of the key signatures of Netflix's You, other than all that cyberstalking and murder, is Joe Goldberg's omnipresent voiceovers. The character, played by Penn Badgley - who would still like to make it crystal clear that Joe is NOT hot, OK?! - narrates much of the show the same way he does in Caroline Kepnes's book, upon which the drama is based.

The device works as an interesting way into the psyche of a crazed but outwardly charming killer who doesn't view any of his actions as particularly insane. For instance, as he watches the target of his next obsession, Beck (Elizabeth Lail), wander through the shelves of the bookstore where he works in the very first episode, we get a taste of what's to come from Joe:

"Who are you? Based on your vibe, a student. Your blouse is loose. You're not here to be ogled, but those bracelets, they jangle. You like a little attention. OK, I bite . . . you're not the standard, insecure nymph hunting for Faulkner you'll never finish. Too sun-kissed for Stephen King. Who will you buy?"

His inner monologue only gets creepier from there, serving to shape the series from his point of view. But what you might not realize as you make your way through the show is that without Joe's near-constant, scathing observations about Beck, Peach Salinger, and the rest of the city, You actually ends up being very awkward. To prove this, Netflix went ahead and removed Joe's voiceovers from a few scenes and compiled them into one cringe-worthy highlight reel that made my soul curl up and die from secondhand embarrassment.

Like that "eight-second" scene wasn't already awkward, right? I never thought I'd say this, but I'm now so, so thankful for Joe's nightmare stream of consciousness. Fingers crossed it brings us all more witty (and murderous) gems in season two.

12 Iconic American Idol Auditions That Still Send Shivers Down Our Spines

American Idol has had more ups and downs than Simon Cowell has fitted t-shirts. From its days as the defining piece of pop culture in the mid 2000s to its decline as the age of reality TV passed to its revival on a new network, Idol's signature component remains the same. We're talking about the auditions: that sometimes incredible, sometimes painful cross-country tour where amateur singers have only a few moments to prove that they deserve a chance in the spotlight.

While Idol has never shied away from showing the hilariously awkward (and downright awful) auditions, it's also given us previews of some of the biggest and best voices in music. Before the show returns this Spring with its latest set of hopefuls, we're taking a look back at some of the most brilliant and memorable auditions from season past. Keep reading to see if your favorite made the cut!

16 Black Cosplay Queens Who Will Give You Inspiration For Comic-Con and Beyond

The best part of being in any fandom is seeing how your favorite books, movies, and TV shows spark the creativity of the fans that love them. There are some truly creative souls out there who can take inspiration from anything and put their own unique spin on it to show their appreciation of it. I love seeing cosplayers put their creative skills to use by crafting their own versions of iconic costumes - whether they be a warrior princess, your favorite witches and wizards, or the legendary Toadette. As a black nerd, I especially love seeing cosplayers of color who challenge the idea of who participates in cosplay and what they can do.

It's a popular myth that the "nerdier" aspects of fandom - like cosplaying and LARPing - are male-dominated and reserved for non-black fans. But that's never been true and, in the age of social media, it's been hugely debunked by the large presence of black female fans who finally get a chance to show off their love for all things nerd and cosplay to the world wide web. Now, I'm not personally a cosplayer (there is not a creative bone in my body, sorry not sorry), but I am more than happy to share these 16 cosplay queens everyone should be following on Instagram.

5 Reasons We're Betting on Cassie to Win Bachelor Colton's Heart

Amid all of the drama that went down in this week's episode of The Bachelor, there was one connection that went majorly right. Colton and Cassie's relationship is definitely taking a few steps forward, which has fans wondering if the California-based speech pathologist is going to be the winner of this season (and of Colton's heart).

Cassie hadn't received a ton of screen time before this week, but that doesn't mean she and Colton haven't hit it off. And during their one-on-one date, the chemistry was undeniable, cementing Cassie as one to watch this season. Colton couldn't keep his hands or his eyes off Cassie, and she seemed to feel the same way, too. It looks like the fortune teller's comment in Singapore about them having been brother and sister in a past life didn't put a damper on the romantic feelings between them!

Here are some of the clues that Cassie, who is also on another reality show, might be getting that final rose. Fans are still a ways away from finding out who won Colton over in the end. But Cassie is definitely one contestant worth keeping an eye on - especially after their super romantic date in Thailand on this week's Bachelor episode.

There's a Period Emoji Coming, So I Guess That's a Step in the Right Direction

All of the emoji you normally use to indicate that you're on your cycle can go back to their original uses now, because thanks to a campaign led by Plan International UK, we're finally getting the period emoji that we all bloody deserve (sorry). Plan International UK is a girls' rights organization that's spent the last few years attempting to get the emoji added to keyboards as a way to destigmatize periods, and make it an easier topic for women to talk to their peers about.

"The fact so many women in this country still find it difficult to talk to work colleagues, friends, and family about their period shows that it remains a taboo subject and something women feel ashamed to discuss," Girls' Rights Campaign Manager Lucy Russell said when the push began in 2017. "We know that these taboos can have a damaging impact on the lives of girls around the world. Many missing school because they face bullying or unfair treatment, or experiencing infections due to a lack of menstrual hygiene education and products."

Russell continued, "Women have told us that by having an emoji, it will make it easier for them to talk about periods with others and so that's why we're addressing the need and creating something that everyone can use. Hopefully this will go some way towards breaking down the stigma surrounding periods once and for all." Unicode officially confirmed in February that the character, a red drop of blood, will be released with the newest batch of emoji coming soon.

This Guy's Spoof About Millennial Boyfriends Is So Accurate, I'm Cry-Laughing Into My Rosé

Millennial Boyfriend School

Millennial Boyfriend School

Posted by Trey Kennedy on Friday, January 25, 2019

Men, grab a notepad and listen up, because comedian Trey Kennedy is here to teach you everything you need to know about being the picture-perfect millennial boyfriend - with a hilarious twist, of course. In one of his recent weekly videos, the YouTube personality breaks down some "lessons" about the key to a young gal's heart, and the whole thing is just so painfully accurate, I'm honestly wondering if Trey was a millennial woman in a past life.

Before explaining the ideal formula for a mushy goodnight text message, he lays out all the foods a boyfriend should provide his lady to keep her happy, narrowing it down to the acronym "SPIRIT," which stands for sushi, pizza, ice cream, Rosé, iced coffee, and tacos. I mean, he's not wrong. Check out a few other standout teachings below, then join the more than six million people who have viewed Trey's viral video by watching it above.

  • "Who in here thinks you should be the only man in her life? Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. There's gonna be two other men in her life: one's named Ben, one's named Jerry."
  • "When she's in a dark place, dark chocolate in her face."
  • "If you go on vacations with your girl, you're no longer her boyfriend - you're a photographer. You're a Boomerang specialist. You're a frickin' paparazzi."
  • "Any Bachelor fans in the house? All of your hands should be raised. You will be. And if she asks if any of the girls on the show are pretty, remember this: 'Play dumb, save your bum.'"

On Being Called "Brown Sugar" and "Oprah" in Morocco

It's a truth universally acknowledged that when you complain to an ignorant man about being catcalled, they'll say you should take it as a compliment. And when you further explain that being catcalled abroad is even worse, they'll mansplain to you that it's just the way the culture is and you should just suck it up and expect it if you're going to travel.

I don't recall being whistled at or spoken to like a sexual object much in my youth. I wasn't exactly the ideal standard of beauty in my small town, so it wasn't until I moved away to bigger cities that I realized that this unfortunate act of catcalling was something that could happen to me. And sadly, as I've gotten older and lived in cities such as Los Angeles, London, and New York, it's only gotten worse. I'll never enjoy being on the receiving end of it and certainly do not consider it flattering.

My adventurous nature took me on a trip to Morocco after finding extremely inexpensive flights. It was a country I had heard so much about and just had to figure out if all the hype was justified. Thankfully, I was overjoyed to find out that it exceeded my expectations. Morocco is an intense blend of old and new. The vibrant colors, smells of spices, and old ruins were fulfilling my Indiana Jones fantasies.

In my research, before I arrived, it was made clear that the men of Morocco tended more toward the aggressive side when it came to interactions with women. I had faced many sexual remarks toward me in my travels to other locations but didn't want to go in with a bad attitude about this and have it ruin the trip. From the moment I landed in the North African country, a barrage of physical remarks rained down upon me. My inner angry feminist was enraged.

It's a complicated feeling to want to change the world and how women are treated, but then to try and respect the culture of a country and not go in with a stubborn mind on how things are done. I wanted so badly to stand up for myself, but I also didn't want to cause a scene. I just let it be because I wanted to enjoy my time there, even if it meant feeling tremendously uncomfortable.

I do have to give it to Moroccan catcallers, though, for their creativity. When I'm walking around New York City, I just get a honk and suggestive look from a car as it passes by, or told that I should be smiling by a stranger who thinks he should get to dictate what my face looks like for him. Or I might be trying to innocently enjoy a museum when a security guard comes up to me and whispers right up in my ear in a creepy voice that he thinks I'm pretty. At least in Morocco, I received the borderline sexual harassment compliments with a bit of flair.

Morocco is insanely gorgeous and I don't want to miss out on seeing more of it just because some random guy called me Brown Sugar.

As a curvy black woman, some of my favorite names I've been called in Morocco are Beyoncé, Brown Sugar, Oprah, Bob Marley, and Whoopi Goldberg. I guess in a way I certainly do feel flattered. Beyoncé, Oprah, and Whoopi's careers are literally my life goals, so being compared to them could be considered a bit nice. Brown Sugar feels a little obvious, but at least it's sweet. And traveling with long, thick braids, I guess I was just asking for the Bob Marley comparisons.

I realize that a lot of it has to do with being a marketing tactic to make people pay attention to them and possibly come over to buy their products. The culture is that of hustling as hard as possible to make enough money to support themselves or their families, so I understand that it's all about how to gain new customers. And I'm sure I didn't notice if they were also saying things to men as well since I was in my own head a lot with each new name they called me.

Despite being treated this way, I went back to Morocco a year later and still have plans to go again in the near future. The thing is, it definitely may suck for a woman to have to endure these sexist moments while seeing the world, but the fact of the matter is that Morocco is insanely gorgeous and I don't want to miss out on seeing more of it just because some random guy called me Brown Sugar.

Morocco is still one of my favorite countries I've been to, and the first location I mention when people ask me for suggestions of places to go. The culture may not be the most attractive thing for a Westernized feminist to have to digest, but it's good to get outside of your comfort zone and face those that haven't been brought fully up to speed on how many women don't like to be spoken to. My inner Oprah gives me the serenity to face anything, including being called Oprah by someone who needs to back away five steps and not touch me, please.

Say Hello to 55+ Cool New Emoji Coming Soon, Including a Sloth, an Oyster, and Garlic!

New year, new emoji! More than 55 new emoji will be hitting our Apple devices later this year, Emojipedia confirmed on Tuesday. Fun upcoming additions include an otter, a sloth, and an oyster (with a cute pearl inside, of course). Other inclusive additions include same-sex couples, an ear with a hearing aid, a deaf person, and manual and mechanical wheelchairs. There will be lots more options in the food section, too. We'll soon have a waffle, butter, falafel, a mate drink, onion, and garlic. Hate to break it to you, white wine enthusiasts, but there's still not a specific glass for you.

There are 59 approved emoji but technically a lot more when you consider the number of gender and skin-tone options. As the Emojipedia blog post explains, "Emoji 12.0 is comprised of 59 distinct new emojis; 75 when gender variations are taken into account; and 230 new emojis when all skin tone options are also included." It's only been a few months since the Apple iOS 12.1 update brought us new emoji like the llama and the bagel, but there's always more up emoji creators' sleeves.

For this newest release, which has no specific timeline yet, Apple partnered with the nonprofit organization Unicode Consortium after proposing more representative emoji in a letter last Fall. Get excited as you catch a glimpse of all the new emoji ahead.

What It Feels Like to Travel While Black

I woke up at 6 a.m. in a tiny hotel room in Tokyo, checked my phone, and found an email from our hostel in Kyoto: "You missed your check-in date." In a half-awake frantic moment, I rummaged through my bag to find the itinerary I had printed out before we left New York. We were supposed to have left Tokyo the day before to head to Kyoto. It slowly hit me that we had accidentally overstayed our reservation at this accommodation and no one at the front desk had said a thing. I woke up my boyfriend, screamed at him to pack up as quickly as possible, and we ran out of there like criminals in the early morning light.

The jet lag had overcome me since our arrival, and I had gotten my days mixed up, which was the most innocent of blunders. However, the main feeling overflowing me in that moment wasn't shame over this simple mistake, but instead, "Oh God, they're going to think I'm a horrible, stealing, gross, American black woman with no respect for their hotel." My white boyfriend couldn't fathom why I was so upset over this mishap. But as a white person, of course he'll never understand what it is like to not just inhabit a person of color's body, but to travel while black.

When I go abroad, I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders to be a good example of a black woman.

When I go abroad, I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders to be a good example of a black woman so negative stereotypes don't continue, especially in homogeneous cultures where there is a lack of diversity. The media doesn't exactly portray black people incredibly well, and people watch it and make assumptions about what we're like based on the color of our skin. In some places, they've rarely even seen a black person in real life.

I am constantly aware of every move I make when I step outside of the United States. There is not a single moment when I am not cognizant of how I'm representing myself as I walk through the streets of Bangkok or photograph the monuments of Paris. It's a stinging fear of my presence in their country not being a positive one and therefore contributing to their biases toward people who look like me. When a white person does something unfortunate, they don't become an example of their entire race. But when one black person does something wrong, it paints us all that way in the eyes of others.

I feel that I am lucky that my travels have not included overt racism toward me, and that shows me the world is changing a lot in its ideals and how it treats people. For some, an article such as this might be talking about the moments of discrimination they've faced while journeying, but I am thankful that I've seemingly been born in a time that lends better to my presence in a place not leading to a negative slur or race-based attacked. The worst treatment has unfortunately come from my being a woman more than anything else.

When a white person does something unfortunate, they don't become an example of their entire race. But when one black person does something wrong, it paints us all that way in the eyes of others.

I think of all the people in the past who looked like me and had adventurous spirits but couldn't go anywhere, and I feel that I have no right at all to complain about what it's like today. Black people are traveling more than ever. It's not a secret that there are many websites and Facebook groups out there that cater to a diverse group of travelers to inspire and connect with one another. There are finally amazing travel bloggers of color going to places in the world and reporting on what it's like to actually be there, sharing their experiences as diverse globetrotters.

But the numbers are still small compared to affluent white voyagers. Fear of how you may be treated, discouragement from your family and peers, or even just lack of resources to make a trip happen mean that there are still fewer people of color stepping out into much of the world, and there are instances of black people being stared at or even pulled into photographs like a celebrity because of their rare appearances in certain cultures. I have yet to be the subject of a selfie, but I have gotten called "Beyoncé" and "Oprah" before, despite looking nothing like them.

Traveling as a black woman is a form of activism to me. I strive to change perceptions through my actions abroad. I never want to leave a country having made a local citizen think lesser of black people due to something I have done. I act respectfully, dress according to cultural standards, attempt to learn basic words in their language, respond politely, and interact cordially with those I meet. It's all done in order to maintain some sort of picture that I am not whatever ill-willed nonsense American media wants to portray me as and that there's no reason to be afraid or suspicious of my actions, just in the same way I wouldn't want a security guard following me through a store as I shop.

I still think back to when we stayed the extra night in Tokyo and what the owner of the hotel must think of me or if they even noticed or cared, and I hope it didn't reflect badly on my kinfolk who stay there in the future. Perhaps I'm overthinking it too much and should relax, but it's because I do care about the future of black travel that I pour so much of my heart into my behaviors abroad and only want to be the best I can be so things are better for everyone in the times to come.

The Richest, Fudgiest Salted Brownies You'll Ever Try

Our Cat Has Cancer - Should I Let My Son Be There at the End?

The words "bad cancer" hung heavy in the air as the vet exited into the hallway. My husband and I were left in the examining room as I convinced myself I'd misheard. The vet must have made a mistake. There must've been a simpler explanation for our cat's slight weight loss because she was still acting normal: eating, tormenting the two dogs, and most of all, playing with our 5-year-old. I immediately thought of my son giggling and playing a game of tag that he lovingly called "Chase Kitty." The tears came. What would happen to my son?

Right now, this powerful love is all my son knows, and I'm going to let him hold onto it as long as he can.

If the vet was correct, there would be very little time left for chases and cuddles with my boy and his cat, who we named Kitty. Her diagnosis is terminal, and the only viable treatments are ones that help her feel better and work on extending her life only for the immediate future. This was not at all the news I was expecting on a boring Thursday morning. I'm still trying to process what this loss will mean for my heart and that of my son.

Kitty joined our family four years before my son was born, so he grew up with her. She's been an ever-present shadow, magically crawling out from behind small spaces to supervise my parenting skills or keep a watchful eye on my son's Legos. Her piercing green eyes are forever evaluating, which means that even after nine years, I'm still not sure she fully approves of me. But I like to think that all those late-night cuddles and sweet purrs are signs she knows I try to do the best for my son and for her.

But now I'm confused as to what my best should be. In an effort to prepare my son for the inevitable, do I explain to him what's happening? Would the best and most loving choice be to let him stay with her at the end? Would being with him bring the most comfort to Kitty in her final moments? I've been around pets all my life, and I can honestly say this part of the journey never gets any easier. My heart breaks, I cry and wail, but after enough time passes, I'm left with beautiful and loving memories that become stronger than my feelings of grief and loss. Right now, this powerful love is all my son knows, and I'm going to let him hold onto it as long as he can.

My son knows Kitty isn't feeling well, and that's been enough information for him. If he asks more questions, I'll be honest and explain her illness in the simplest of terms. However, I feel strongly that he doesn't need to be there to experience her last moments. His memories of his best friend should be joyful, innocent, and loving. I want him to think of her and remember playing "Chase Kitty," their sweet kisses, and their afterschool cuddles. As much as I want him to be there for her (and vice versa) to say goodbye, I don't think he'll be able to process such a complex event as a 5-year-old child. I'm an adult, and I feel as if I barely do.

While it may seem simple to some, this has been one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. Each outcome breaks my heart. I won't let my son be there to see her go, but I still struggle with the fact that my decision might make it worse. Still, when that day does come in the near future, I'll be there to hold Kitty, kiss her head, and say goodbye. But most of all, I'll thank her for all the snuggles and all the love, and I hope she'll approve.

This Peek Inside Kylie Jenner's Fun and Fresh Home Will Make You See Life in Technicolor

Kylie Jenner's fabulous Hidden Hills home is everything you'd expect - and a little bit more. Sure, we know the 21-year-old reality TV star has an enviable wardrobe and extensive beauty collection, but where and how does she house these items? Well, Kylie recently opened her doors to Architectural Digest and gave a peek of what her interior design style is like with the help of her mom, Kris Jenner, and Los Angeles AD100 designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard.

"I told Martyn I wanted a fresh, fun vibe to match the way I was feeling. Color was essential. I love pink, and I wanted a lot of it!" Kylie said. "My closets and glam room are very personal to me, even down to the size of each drawer, so they fit my specific products and clothes. I spend a lot of time in those rooms, so we had to make sure they were perfect."

Kylie's attention to detail does not go unnoticed in the design of her home. She collects valuable Damien Hirst prints, bold Beau Dunn art pieces, and vintage furniture. The chairs in her dining room were even custom-made to match shades from her own Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits. Now that's dedication! Learn more about the inspiration behind Kylie's home in the video above, then keep reading to see more peeks inside.

Kim and Kourtney Kardashian's Versace Gowns Work Together Like Pieces of a Sexy Puzzle

Kim Kardashian has shown off her fair share of plunging necklines and formfitting dresses, but I've never seen one quite like her amfAR gala gown. Kim attended the NYC event with Kourtney Kardashian on Feb. 6, and the two stole all the attention on the red carpet. The sisters chose complementing black Versace dresses for the occasion, which flaunted their famous curves and assets.

In addition to her statement neckline, Kim's formfitting dress featured a thigh-high slit on the side. She paired the outfit with clear heels, a style she reaches for often. Kourtney's dress, on the other hand, opted for a dress with thick straps and a scooped neckline, plus its own sultry slit. She finished off her look with what appear to be pointed velvet heels. See the Kim and Kourtney's looks from all angles below - they'll go down as a couple of their sexiest yet.

Proceed With Caution! Kim and Kourtney Kardashian Showed Up in NYC Looking Dangerously Sexy

Wednesday marked a sisters' night out for Kim and Kourtney Kardashian at the amfAR New York Gala. The duo looked sleek and sexy in Versace as they attended the event to honor fashion photographers Mert and Marcus with amfAR's Award of Courage. Kim and Kourtney spent the evening mingling with other celebrities in attendance and striking sultry poses on and off the red carpet. Those curves, they're dangerous!

This is the first red carpet event for Kim and Kourtney in 2019, with more excitement expected in the year to come. Last month, Kim confirmed she and Kanye are expecting their fourth child together: a baby boy! On top of the other projects the Kardashian-Jenners always have in the works, the next few months are sure to be busy for this group of powerful ladies. The Masked Singer: A Guide to Which Celebrities Have Been Revealed, and Who's Still Left

The Masked Singer might be the most bonkers reality show on TV at the moment, but nevertheless, I can't help but find myself fascinated by the mystery of which thirsty celebrity is lurking behind each of those bizarre, nightmarish masks that look like rejected outfits from the Spy Kids costume department.

Hosted by Nick Cannon, the Fox reality competition series is the US remake of the popular South Korean show King of Mask Singer. It began with 12 singing celebrities, with one being eliminated each week. The catch? Each of the contestants wears head-to-toe costumes concealing every inch of their identities from not only the audience but also the panelists and other contestants. Panelists Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke receive small hints about who the singer might be over the course of the show and then try to guess their identities.

Warning: spoilers for The Masked Singer to follow!

So far we've unmasked Hippo (NFL player Antonio Brown), Pineapple (comedian Tommy Chong), Unicorn (Beverly Hills, 90210's Tori Spelling), and a few others. So if you're wondering who's behind the masks of Raven, Lion, Peacock, Monster, and the rest, keep reading!

OMG: James Corden and Billy Crystal Recreated When Harry Met Sally's Most Iconic Scene

Well, here's something I never thought I'd watch in my lifetime: James Corden and Billy Crystal recreating When Harry Met Sally's most iconic, eyebrow-raising scene, with Corden in the role of Meg Ryan. But alas, here we all are!

In a sketch on The Late Late Show on Tuesday, Corden and Crystal stop by a diner and get to chatting over lunch. Crystal assured the talk show host that he's a great late night guest, and that all hosts enjoy having him on their programs because of how much he makes them laugh.

"Some guests, frankly they think they're way more interesting than they really are," said Corden, seated across from Crystal in the restaurant.

"Talk show hosts love having me on as a guest," Crystal responded, before Corden asked, "How do you know?"

Just like Harry and Sally do in the Rob Reiner-directed rom-com, the pair get to talking about "faking it," and Corden helpfully demonstrates his most genuine fake laugh. Of course, make sure you watch until the very end of the sketch, because Corden recruited a very special guest to utter the scene's famous closing line:

14-Year-Old Marsai Martin Is Set to Become the Youngest Executive Producer in History

Black-ish star Marsai Martin is about to make history. The 14-year-old actress is gearing up to be the youngest executive producer of a major Hollywood movie in history. You read that right. She's 14, and she's out here making movies (and starring in them). Whew. She'll bear the title when her film Little, starring Insecure's Issa Rae and Girls Trip's Regina Hall, hits theaters this Spring.

The movie centers around a woman named Jordan Sanders (Hall), whose callous behavior causes her to become cursed by a little girl. Jordan then turns back into her 13-year-old self (Martin), who must relive her childhood. In an interview with The Root, Martin confirmed that the movie is inspired by Tom Hank's 1988 classic Big. "It was one of my most favorite films growing up," she said. "After the [season one] finale of Black-ish, we told Kenya Barris about it, and he called Will [Packer] and said: 'Yo, you know the girl who plays Diane on Black-ish? She has this dope idea!'"

Martin tweeted about her excitement for fans to see the film after the trailer dropped in January. "So happy to finally be able to share the trailer, so proud of the things accomplished since we started this and eternally grateful to you guys for listening when others didn't take us seriously," she wrote.

I wonder what those people who didn't take her seriously were doing at 14 years old. Certainly not producing Hollywood films, that's for sure. Watch the trailer for Little before it hits theaters on April 12!

We Are Blessed: For the Fifth Year in a Row, Lady Gaga Will Perform at the Grammys

Here's some exciting news to "fill that void" - Lady Gaga will perform at the Grammys this year and will likely sing "Shallow." Are we blessed, or what?

On Tuesday, the Recording Academy announced that the Oscar-nominated A Star Is Born actress will take the stage at the organization's 61st annual ceremony on Sunday, which marks her fifth performance in a row. Since 2015, Gaga - who is up for five Grammys this year - has hit the stage for everything from a colorful, moving David Bowie tribute, to a collaboration with Metallica that convinced everyone she needed to put out a hard rock album.

Although the Academy has yet to confirm that "Shallow" will be the song Gaga does indeed perform, it seems like there's a pretty strong chance. The song is nominated for record of the year, song of the year, best song written for visual media, and best pop duo performance. While Gaga is also nominated for best pop performance for "Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Goin'?)," she performed that song at last year's show, so it seems highly unlikely she'd sing it again. Here's hoping she brings Bradley Cooper out to sing with her.

In addition to Gaga, performers include: Travis Scott, Chloe x Halle, Fantasia, Andra Day, Dua Lipa, St. Vincent, Cardi B, Camila Cabello, Post Malone, Kacey Musgraves, Janelle Monáe, and Dan + Shay. Diana Ross is also on the roster for a special "Diamond Diana" birthday performance, while Katy Perry and Maren Morris will join Little Big Town for a Dolly Parton tribute.
