It's not St. Patrick's Day yet, but McDonald's already has us feeling pretty lucky. The fast food chain got a head start on celebrating the holiday when it announced on Feb. 14 that its beloved Shamrock Shake is officially back on the menu. "The minty moment you've been waiting for is finally here: the Shamrock Shake is back! Find one near you on our app," McDonald's wrote on Twitter. The Shamrock Shake is the mint green-colored milkshake from McDonald's that has gained quite the cult following since its introduction in 1970. The limited-edition treat is made with vanilla soft serve that's blended with minty Shamrock Shake syrup and topped with whipped cream and a cherry.
Shamrock Shakes are available at participating locations until March 24, and if you're not sure where to find one, McDonald's built a feature into its app that helps users track down specific locations that are selling the concoction. Once customers pull up the app and plug into their respective zip codes, they can pick any of the locations that the app suggests and either order the shake in store or via drive-through. Head to a location near you to snag a shake in all its green glory.

Meet Lashana Lynch, the Captain Marvel Star You're About to Fall in Love With
As we close in on Marvel's next big release, Captain Marvel, we're slowly uncovering more and more intel about the incredibly powerful superhero. Even in the last couple of months, we've been treated to tons of trailers and special looks, a couple of familiar faces, and one very fuzzy new sidekick. But if the recently released character posters told us anything, it's that Marvel is keeping a secret or two close to the chest. Case in point: the brilliant Lashana Lynch, who plays Maria Rambeau, aka the best friend and copilot of Captain Marvel's human person, Carol Danvers.
In Summer 2018, POPSUGAR visited the LA set of Captain Marvel with a group of other journalists. During our time in the thick of the action, we were treated to an interview with Lynch. The fact that she's joining the Marvel universe is huge; not only is she a fresh face in the superhero world, but she's a pretty recent newcomer in Hollywood, too. And here she is, kicking ass alongside a badass female superhero in one of Marvel's most important releases in the past decade! To introduce you to the rising star, we've scribbled down a handful of fun facts about the character . . . and the delightful woman who plays her.
1. She Plays the Mother of a Well-Known Marvel Comics Character
"I play Maria Rambeau, who is the mother of Monica Rambeau, who we know from the comics," Lynch revealed. In Marvel's official database, Monica Rambeau notably takes the Captain Marvel namesake after she joins the Avengers. Lynch told us during our visit that Monica is only 11 in the film, meaning she likely hasn't quite developed her own superpowers yet. Even so, we can't help but feel like that's a pretty easy bridge to a big-screen Captain Marvel sequel.
The comics don't seem to give a lot of information about Monica's mother, Maria. Luckily, we had Lynch to fill us in: "We are going from the beginning, so we're going from before Carol Danvers got her powers. We have us being set in the mid-'90s, which is nice, because we have lots of flashbacks. You know, memories that we all know and love."
"My character, along with Carol Danvers, is a fighter pilot, so you catch a lot of us being the strong, driven, bold females in the workplace, in a male-oriented environment," Lynch continued. "It's nice to flash back and see that - see how women can really burst through being in that environment and still holding their own, and not having to have a man telling them what to do, where to stand, how to look. And also not be glamorous at work: not having to wear heels, and the pencil skirt, and be on their Ps and Qs, just being a complete badass going to work."
2. Carol's Relationship With Maria Is Actually Very Important
Not only were Maria and Carol best friends as fighter pilots, but they also grew up together! "They were best friends in the beginning. Absolute best friends," she said. "They were in and out of each other's houses. Carol was very close with Monica." Because of that time together, Lynch revealed, they do have a pretty incredible bond. She said they give each other "strength, mainly, and spiritual strength. In order to do the job what we do - and especially with me being an African American female fighter pilot - any other woman just gets you, understands the journey. It gives you enough power [to] just go to work."
3. As a Matter of Fact, Maria Is the Key to Captain Marvel's Reverse Awakening
So, if you're confused about the timeline, here's what I gleaned. Captain Marvel began her life on Earth, living as a human. Eventually, her powers awakened, and she went off into space to fight intergalactic evil and whatnot. She forgets her human past. Then, during the events of the film, she must return to Earth, where she unlocks all these pieces from her backstory that she didn't realize were there.
As it turns out, her pal Maria may very well spark this major change in our hero. "There's a certain energy that you share with your friends that you can't get anywhere else, and she has these flashes of the feeling," Lynch told us. "The feeling of being herself through seeing her friend, the feeling of being at home through being in a home - which is mine - and the feeling of being normal and accepted, able to be herself without being an object - which I think is kind of what happens when she gets her powers." That's a pretty impactful piece of this fragmented puzzle.
4. Maria Will Absolutely Brush Shoulders With Nick Fury
Oh, yes. You're definitely going to witness a team-up of sorts between Carol, Maria, the young Nick Fury, and the fuzzy little Flerken known as Goose. Nick Fury totally factors in majorly; Lynch said he's "there to be Nick Fury, to save and support and make things happen" when Carol Danvers starts to come to terms with her own identity." While we were on set, we witnessed a scene in which Nick, Maria, and Captain Marvel all board an alien spacecraft. That means she's definitely along for the ride and not just stuck in the dark on Earth!
5. Fun Fact: Lynch Auditioned For Black Panther and Almost Got Picked
In the midst of our interview, Lynch revealed that she's a longtime Marvel fan and had made it a goal for herself to get into a Marvel movie. She really had her sights set on Black Panther. "Literally, I was begging my manager to get me in Black Panther. I was in LA and they hadn't started yet, because they were just finishing up on Spider-Man," she recalled. "And I said, but I'm here now, and I could just do a tape. I'll make up sides, and I'll just do an audition, and it'll be great."
By now, the end of the story should be clear. "It didn't happen. I was shooting a series at the time, and sent them the tape, and they loved [it] . . . and then there was an age issue, like, I looked too young for one, and too old for the other, and that didn't happen. I'm really happy, because in the end, Letitia Wright got it, and she is bombastic.
6. Maria's Costume Has a Cute Little Easter Egg
A close look at Lynch's costume revealed a very cute little detail: she wears a necklace that spells "Monica" in gorgeous gold-plated lettering. "That was my idea," Lynch said, glowing. "Yeah, it says Monica, because it's the '90s." How very Carrie Bradshaw of her.
Captain Marvel hits theaters March 8. Is it time yet?!

This Couple Got Their Happily Ever After With a Fairy-Tale-Themed Wedding
ReAnne and Tyler first met during their orientation at Disney World, so it is only fitting that they chose to have a magical, fairy-tale-themed wedding. The pair tied the knot in Mount Pleasant, SC, and a photographer from Riverland Studios was there to capture this scenic wedding.
"ReAnne envisioned pixie dust strewn across her perfect wedding day, and from the dress to the dance, the day played out of a storybook," said the photographer.
ReAnne looked like she was straight out of a fairy tale in a ballgown-style wedding dress with lace detailing, and Tyler looked handsome in a suit with a Tinkerbell-inspired green patterned bow tie as they exchanged rings. Inside their venue, the rustic wood was lined with a string of cafe lights to enhance the enchanting ambiance of the room. ReAnne also carried a bouquet made out of green shrubs to match the green placemats and centerpieces in the room. All the greenery in the wedding gave the illusion of a forest setting, which is the perfect place for a great fairy tale like ReAnne and Tyler's wedding.
See photos of this charming wedding ahead!

Um, Happy Death Day Was Originally Supposed to Have a Completely Different Ending
With Happy Death Day 2U finally in theaters, we're running back into the open arms of our favorite badass heroine, Tree Gelbman. This time around, Tree isn't just trying to save herself from certain death, but must also try to save all her friends from an uncertain fate that involves even more gruesome deaths and, yes, plenty of laughs. Ahead of the second film's release, I sat down with star Jessice Rothe to talk about her incredible character and what makes the franchise so special. In that interview, though, I actually learned an absolutely shocking fact about the film that started it all: Tree was supposed to die at the end.
I know, you're like, "Big deal. She dies like 100 times in the whole movie." But I mean Tree initially was supposed to die permanently. Rothe broke it down for me during our little chat. "I make it to Tuesday the 19th. I wake up - it's on the DVD extras. I filmed the scene," Rothe recalled. "I wake up, and everyone's at the hospital with me, my dad's there, I'm super happy, and then Gregory's wife comes in and poisons me because I was sleeping with her husband, and I die." It turns out, test audiences were furious because they had grown so attached to the character. "They were pissed," Rothe continued. "They were like, 'You made us care about this person. You can't do this. We went on this journey. We love her.'"
Can you even imagine? We almost had to watch Tree go through everything only to ultimately fail at the end! Luckily, they decided to reshoot the whole ending, and that's what gave us the heartwarming conclusion we know and love. It's kind of funny, too, because it sounds like this overhaul marked the point where director Christopher Landon got the idea for the sequel. In post-production on the film, he got the familiar lightning bolt, called Rothe, and the rest is history. Now, we might even be getting a third installment! We can't wait to see how it all (potentially) wraps up.
Watch Out, 2019: Meghan Markle Is Just Getting Started
To say that Meghan Markle has had a whirlwind couple of years is a pretty big understatement. She's hit a handful of major milestones since getting engaged to Prince Harry and experienced some pretty huge life events in 2018 alone - all while inspiring her fans, charming humans and animals, and breaking a few rules along the way. Wedding? Check. Pregnancy? In progress. Changing the face of the British royal family forever? Girl, it's been handled.
Meghan has already kicked off 2019 by announcing her royal patronages, hiring a new deputy communications secretary, and making official appearances both solo and with Harry. The couple are also expected to make their widely publicized move to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor soon - before welcoming their first child together in late April - and will be embarking on a royal tour of the US in the Fall. Last year may have been Meghan's introduction to the royal family (as well as the world), but 2019 is when we'll see the Duchess of Sussex rolling up her sleeves and getting down to business. Scroll through to see Meghan's best photos from 2019.
Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen Rang In Valentine's Day With - What Else? - a Sexy Beach Date
Nearly a decade later, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen are clearly still crazy about each other! The couple - who will be ringing in their 10th wedding anniversary on Feb. 26 - recently escaped to Costa Rica for some well-deserved R&R following the New England Patriots quarterback's sixth Super Bowl win. On Valentine's Day, Tom and Gisele celebrated the romantic holiday by soaking up the sun and hitting the beach. The pair shared some sweet PDA as they hugged and kissed. At one point, Gisele was spotted affectionately feeding Tom some fresh papaya. The 38-year-old former supermodel showed off her incredible figure as she frolicked in the sand, while the 41-year-old athlete felt a little more adventurous and caught some waves.
In the midst of their romantic beach date, Tom and Gisele also took a moment to pen heartfelt tributes to each other on Instagram. "My Forever Valentine!!! Te amo tanto amor da minha vida! ❤️," Tom captioned a cuddly photo of the pair. Gisele expressed similar sentiments, posting a snap of the two and writing, "Happy Valentine's day! Te amo! ❤️"
Tom and Gisele first got together in 2006 and have been going strong ever since. They have three beautiful kids between them - Jack, 11, Benjamin, 9, and Vivian, 6 - and their love only seems to get sweeter with time. Happy early anniversary, Gisele and Tom!
Parents Are Throwing Their Daughters Period Parties to . . . Celebrate a Life of Impending Menstrual Misery?
I got my first period at a very young age. I was in fifth grade. The topic of mensuration hadn't yet come up in whatever paltry attempts my school made at giving us a proper health or sex education. So when it happened, I was beyond unprepared. I locked my soiled underwear in the bathroom, then locked myself in my bedroom. It seemed like a reasonable reaction. Until my mom came home and figured out what happened and was dead set on talking to me about becoming a woman and about my new friend, the pad.
Times have obviously changed because parents are celebrating their daughters' first periods by not only addressing them but by throwing period parties! According to Parents magazine, this isn't necessarily a new trend but one that's become increasingly popular among the hormonal set. Red velvet cakes adorned with red flowers and an inscription that says something like "Sarah's First Period" aren't unusual to see. The food might be red, the drinks might be red, and the guests might be clad in red - none of that is off the table at a period party.
A number of families shared sweet stories with the magazine about how throwing this type of bash can help remove the embarrassment and stigma normally associated with puberty. It's actually very thoughtful, and I wonder if it were a trend when I was a kid, if I would have wanted one or just been content staying locked in my room forever.
Yes, Happy Death Day 2U Has a Postcredits Scene - Here's Why It's a Big Deal
Warning: this post contains spoilers for Happy Death Day 2U!
Ladies and gentlemen, the movie overlords have graciously blessed us with a sequel to 2017's best horror surprise, Happy Death Day. Now that we've got a second go-around, the highly anticipated Happy Death Day 2U is jam-packed with even more creepy baby masks, plenty of gruesome new deaths, and a gripping ride that keeps you guessing and laughing 'til the very end. Speaking of the end, I bet you're wondering about the all-important question that seems to hover over nearly every movie release nowadays: should you stay put after the credits or would it be a waste of time? Allow me to unravel the mystery just for you. And I'll even go so far as to describe it, if that's something you're into.
I have really excellent news about the postcredits situation in Happy Death Day 2U. First of all, there is, indeed, a pretty vital scene that takes place after the credits roll. To clarify, it's more of a "midcredits" scene, because it definitely drops after the credits begin, but there are many more credits afterward as well. So, you can enjoy the bliss of not waiting too long to witness the scene in question and then peacing out right after. As for what happens? I'll put a description underneath this lovely picture, just in case you don't want all the spoilers.
Still here? OK, great. So, before I dive into the postcredits scene, let me do a quick recap of the twist in the movie. Remember how there's a whole shroud of mystery around Tree's journey in the first one? It's all because of some crazy machine these physics students have been working on as a final thesis project. Their goal is to create some kind of effect where time slows down, but it instead throws Tree into a time loop that she can't seem to escape. There are a few more aspects of Happy Death Day 2U that tie into that whole part of the story, but all you really need to know right now is that there's a crazy time-bending machine and that's why Tree lands in this whole predicament in the first place.
At the end of the movie, we learn the government has basically taken custody of this machine, because duh, it's a powerful piece of technology and the government loves getting their grubby hands on powerful things that don't belong to them. In the postcredits scene, the government actually summons the whole group to their top-secret science complex. The group obviously includes Tree, Carter, and Carter's roommate Ryan (one of the students who worked on the machine). They also bring along Ryan's friends, coconspirators, and lab partners, who we only meet in this sequel. Their names are Samar and Andrea.
And so, the whole crew basically get abducted by a big, black SUV and taken to whatever generic government compound. Once they're inside, the government agents and government scientists are basically like, "We're going to need you to show us how this works." And that's basically it!
Why is this such a big deal? Well, recent interviews have surfaced the idea of a third Happy Death Day film in the franchise. According to the writer-director and star Jessica Rothe, this would be a jumping off point for the third film, if they got a chance to make it. The rest is just assumption, but I would guess the government somehow f*cks everything up, and it's up to Tree and her friends to save the world. Maybe the government makes a bigger version of the machine (or triggers a massive reaction in the one that already exists). Maybe everyone in the country, or even the world, is stuck in one gargantuan time loop! I mean, it's just guess work, but that would be pretty bonkers, right?
We Out Here: An Open Letter From POPSUGAR Editors
It is both a thrilling and frightening time to be a black woman. While we're running for office, smashing box office records, writing Great American Novels, and shaping the culture, we are also navigating a world in which we're still being undervalued, underpaid, and underappreciated. In the midst of that, though, is community - black women coming together on the internet and IRL to hold space and fix one another's crowns. Whether we're hyping one another up on the 'gram or taking it offline for a few intentional breaths, one thing is clear: if no one else has us, we'll always have each other.
With that in mind, POPSUGAR is celebrating the breadth and diversity of black women by creating a space for you - and us - to be seen. We Out Here is a place where you will discover everything from the best black-hosted podcasts to accompany your morning commute to beauty brands that give back and how to find a therapist who has your best interest at heart and manage your mental health (because that's super important, too). We recognize the triumphs and the heartbreaks because, for better or worse, we win and lose together. Not only are we out here, but we're not going anywhere, either.

I Tried Herbivore Botanicals For 1 Month to See If It's More Than Just Instagrammable
Welcome to Off the Grid, our column that investigates the beauty products you're seeing slip into the Explore pages of your Instagram with their beautiful packaging and styling. We're spotlighting those (not-so) hidden gems of the beauty world to see if those growing brands on social media are really worth the hype.
Tucked between the bottles and jars of some of the most enviable shelfies and flat lays, you might find the minimalist packaging and muted hues of Herbivore Botanicals. Combine its aesthetically pleasing exterior with how the brand touts itself as being "natural" - Herbivore keeps its formulations free of dyes and synthetic ingredients - and it checks off all of the proverbial boxes, but we were curious to see how it actually impacted our skin.
I practiced skincare monogamy for a month, slathering only products from the line on my body for 30 days. Here's my unfiltered opinion.
Courteney Cox Didn't Realize How Fillers Had Changed Her Face Until 1 Day She Stopped
Courteney Cox seems more than pleased with her decision to dissolve her fillers two years ago. In a recent interview with People, the actress said she hadn't realized how fillers were changing her face until she stopped. (Injectable fillers temporarily fill in face wrinkles or make other areas look more plump.) "I didn't realize it until one day I kind of stepped back and went, 'Oh sh*t - I don't look like myself,'" Cox said.
"You have to accept getting older."
Cox described feeling as though fillers were something she simply had to do as she aged in the spotlight. "I would say it's a common thing you go through as you age, especially in Hollywood," she said, describing the cosmetic practice as more than maintenance. She added, "You have to accept getting older, and that's something that I had a hard time doing."
Thanks in part to a little time and wisdom, Cox is no longer "trying to change." She said, "Now I just embrace who I am and getting older with what God gave me. I kind of own everything. And the things that I am not as comfortable with myself, they're things that I continue to work on to grow and change. I think I am at a stage of my life where it's very easy to be comfortable with who I am and who I've become and who I strive to be."

Gaga, Ooh La La - Looks Like Lady Gaga Is Launching a Makeup Line
PSA: unless you are calling to reveal exclusive information about Lady Gaga's reported upcoming makeup line, kindly stop telephoning me. As The Blast reports and the U.S. Patent and Trademark office confirms, the "Joanne" singer's company, Ate My Heart Inc., took out a trademark for the cosmetics line "Haus Beauty."
The brand name sounds like something out of the "Bad Romance" music video, and it appears as if Gaga's gearing up for an extensive launch. According to the trademark, Haus Beauty will sell items such as foundation, cheek colors, brow accoutrements, lipsticks, balms, and glosses. There could also be skin care such as moisturizer, body scrubs, hand creams, sunscreen, and self-tanners.
There's no word yet on any concrete details, but there is an official Haus Beauty website, according to Harper's Bazaar. Right now, the site is a blank screen that prompts users to sign up for updates. Allure also noted that Gaga posted a low-key sneak peek of Haus back in January 2018. The Instagram post below shows Gaga in an emerald cat eye, flamingo-pink blush, and matching lipstick. Check out her "Poker Face" - that's a tease if we ever saw one!
Although Gaga's had some good practice toting her own perfume and being the face of MAC's Viva Glam back in 2010, this would be her first foray into launching a proper cosmetics line. That's something worthy of . . . "Applause."

The Cool New Piercing Trends Everyone Will Be Trying This Year
It used to be that - much like tattoos or ripped jeans - piercings were reserved for people with Steven Tyler haircuts, cigarettes, and Sex Pistols jackets. Now, thanks to modern-day celebrities redefining what it means to "look cool," they have become far more mainstream - and anyone with the capacity to play air guitar has been pulling them off with aplomb.
The last few years especially have seen a meteoric rise in ear piercing trends - from where you get it to the sheer number of jewelry you use - and it's only getting more exciting in 2019. "What makes the piercings [right now] fresh and interesting is this idea of being able to work with what you already have, as opposed to needing to create an entire new look," said Cassi Lopez, piercer at New York Adorned.
Ahead, we've asked NYC's top piercers to share the styles they think everyone will be getting this year. Walk this way.
Hailey Bieber on Breaking Out From Birth Control and Learning to Talk About Her Feelings
There's a different vibe when you walk into a room with Hailey Bieber (né Baldwin). It's less tense than most celebrity interviews. There's a welcoming feeling, not like you're an imposition or that she's just doing a job. She's warm, bubbly, and she surprisingly doesn't seem to have a wall up. The model and TV host is positioned on a couch at LA's Lombardi House, where she and makeup artist Nikki DeRoest will be breaking down how to use the new BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Hydrating Foundation Stick ($32) in a live tutorial with a gaggle of influencers there to follow along. (Bieber is a BareMinerals Clean Beauty brand ambassador).
After the initial hello, she skips pleasantries and gets right to the root of what's important.
"Let me tell you about something. This POPSUGAR Twinning thing never gave me myself!" said Bieber. She laments about how she tried and tried, but at the end of the day she never got herself as a match. Rest assured, Hailey, that's half the fun.
Our time is limited, and we've been instructed to avoid any wedding or Justin talk. But that doesn't stop her from bringing him up. We start with an easy beauty question: what's in your purse?
She points to the foundation stick displayed in abundance on the table. "The complexion stick. I always have lip balm with me, like Aquaphor, Vaseline. I hate chapped lips and that happens to me all the time because it's just cold or dry and I don't drink enough water or whatever it is. I always have scrunchies in my bag as Alice [Hampton, vice president of Global Communications BareMinerals & Shiseido Makeup, who is joining us] pointed out to me earlier."
She pauses as her phone lights up with a photo many Bieber fans are familiar with: it appears to be a school portrait of Justin as a child. "Isn't he so cute? A little heartbreaker," said Bieber.
Back to the beauty banter. Bieber doesn't offer anything truly revolutionary when it comes to her beauty routine, and favors a less-is-more makeup philosophy. ("I personally don't think I look good with a full beat face of makeup. I just think it doesn't work for my face. There's other people who look extraordinary with a full artistic beat on their face.") She confesses she hasn't really dealt with acne and had relatively good skin growing up. She'd break out here and there, but nothing monumental.
The girls really have to get the sh*t end of things sometimes. Why do we have to get the things put in? Why do we have to push the babies out? Why do we have to go through all this nonsense?
She has, however, dabbled in extreme beauty treatments, from Fraxel and PRP. "[I've done] things that probably sound really crazy, like the blood facial - the PRP thing - because if you think about it, it's kind of gross. I guess it's from your own body but still, kind of gross. That was probably one for me that I was super weirded out by and skeptical about, but then I ended up loving it because it's so good for your skin. And I'm always open to trying things, always open to trying. I've done lasers on my face, I've done fraxeling on my face. I've done it when I was younger because I had a really bad scar on my face one time from picking at my skin when I was a teenager. I believe in the light therapies and the lasers and I'm open to all of it."
As we continue the conversation, she reiterates she hasn't had what would be considered true acne, but did have a relatable moment when she got an IUD last year.
"Over the last six months of time, I went on birth control, which I'd never done for 21 years of my life, and I did an IUD which is hormonal," she said. "I'd never had any type of birth control in my body before, and I think that definitely threw off my skin a little bit from what its natural state was because your body has nothing in it that's foreign, no other hormones, and then you put this thing in your body, and your body's like, 'Wow, dude?'"
Getting an IUD has become a more interesting birth control option. It's less of a hassle because you don't have to take a daily pill, but many experience an intense amount of pain when it's inserted. "I made my sister come with me and hold my hand. The girls really have to get the sh*t end of things sometimes. Why do we have to get the things put in? Why do we have to push the babies out? Why do we have to go through all this nonsense?"
It was refreshing to hear about this aspect of life from a young woman in her position. She appears grounded and confident in herself, despite being the target tabloid fodder because of her high-profile relationship. She doesn't come off above anything or anyone. Her Instagram paints a portrait of a dream life: a doting husband, a cute dog, a career that takes her around the world, and access to people and experiences many can only fantasize about. In January, though, she posted how she is a woman experiencing real insecurities, who compares herself to others, who often feels inadequate. "Stepping into 2019 I want to be more open," she wrote. "I'm a 22-year-old, and the truth is no matter how amazing life may look from the outside I struggle… I'm insecure, I'm fragile, I'm hurting, I have fears, I have doubts, I have anxiety, I get sad, I get angry."
She explains that, like many of us, she scrolls through Instagram and constantly feels "not good enough." She says every day is a "confidence battle" and that it's difficult learning how to navigate this world and her feelings as a young woman.
"It's hard finding who you are, but what's even harder is being picked apart and compared to other women while trying to do that. There are days that I'm simply broken because of it," she continued. It's these genuine remarks that captivate her fans and strangers alike. There's an authenticity to her that doesn't feel manufactured for clicks or for money.
I was never one of those people that was super open about my emotions and how I was feeling until I realized what a relief it is to talk about those things.
"I do not care if you're the most drop-dead stunning gorgeous human being on this planet," she said passionately. "It doesn't matter. I think opening up that conversation means so much more and is so much healthier. Everybody feels -" she stops herself. "I felt better saying it and being honest, and I know that people felt better reading it and being like, 'Oh, well if she feels this, I'm good. I get it.'"
"I tried to hide those aspects of myself and my life for a long time because I wanted people to think . . . it's not that I wanted people to think I had a perfect life or anything. I just wanted to keep it together. Even personally with my friends and family, like, 'Are you okay?' 'Yeah. Yeah. I'm fine.' But then I'd be crying in my room and not be open to talk about it. That comes with time and maturity. I was never one of those people that was super open about my emotions and how I was feeling until I realized what a relief it is to talk about those things."
Lady Gaga Just Got a HUGE Back Tattoo That Would Make Jack Maine Proud
It looks like Lady Gaga is basking in her recent Grammy wins with some fresh ink. On Feb. 14, the 32-year-old debuted not one but two new tattoos by LA-based artist Winter Stone. She first shared an Instagram photo of a sizable back tattoo that features a delicate rose sprouting up along her spinal cord. The words "la vie en rose" are written in cursive surrounding the thorny stem as a nod to the first song her character, Ally, sings in A Star Is Born.
We're dying to hear Jack's - er, Bradley Cooper's - input on this masterpiece. Gaga also shared a snap of her second tattoo, located on her inner right arm. It's a musical staff with four notes spelling out her name, G-A-G-A. How genius is that? Although the staff originally only had four lines on it, she had the top fifth one added after realizing the mistake, and her manager, Bobby Campbell, got the same design on his arm to match hers.
These new tattoos join a host of other designs Gaga has already inked on her body, including a mouse on the back of her left arm and a David Bowie homage on her side, just to name a few. We're certainly looking forward to seeing how her new spine tattoo factors into her Oscars outfit. Keep reading to admire Gaga's latest inked additions.
Khloé Kardashian's Hair Is the Shortest Its Ever Been
If you've kept up with devoted mom to True and reality star Khloé Kardashian lately, you might have noticed that her platinum lob has gotten shorter (and shorter . . . and shorter). This morning. she debuted her most recent chop - a chin-length, deep-parted bob. "I asked [Andrew Fitzpatrick] to cut a few more inches off," her caption read. "10 months after giving birth and I'm finally feeling like I'm getting my mojo back! Woooo wooo."
The new style is just as cool as niece Penelope Disick's, who just got a choppy lob for her very first haircut. Ahead, see Khloé's cool new cut.
Too Cool For School's Fan-Favorite Egg Products Are Now Available at Target
Fan-favorite K-beauty brand Too Cool For School is now available at Target. The brand - known for its skin-clearing egg white products and its bendy Dinoplatz mascaras - started rolling out its Egg and Pumpkin collections at Target stores in late January, and they are officially in over 900 stores across the country.
The roster of products currently available at the megaretailer include the skin-softening Egg Cream Mask Hydration ($6) and brightening Pumpkin 24K Gold Mask ($8). Ahead, see the K-beauty skin essentials.
This $42 Faux-Fur Coat Makes Me Feel Like a Straight-Up Movie Star
After realizing that most of my shopping experiences in Winter end with me standing under a florescent light in the dressing room the same way I entered into this world - naked and afraid - I have succumbed to the fact that there is no corduroy trouser or other cold-weather trend cool enough for me to sacrifice warmth. Instead, I stick to wearing ugly 10-pound knitted scarves and my reliable puffer jacket.
Would you be surprised to learn, then, that I have never owned a fur coat (real or otherwise), despite admiring it on everyone from top-tier supermodels to socialites who have retired to the Upper East Side? (To be clear, I live on the Upper East Side, but I don't live on the Upper East Side, if you know what I'm saying.) Then I walked by a rack with a sample of the POPSUGAR at Kohl's Faux Fur Coat in Jet Black on full display at the office and thought, "If there were ever a time . . . "
From the moment I slipped it on, I felt like Elizabeth Taylor circa 1972 - sans all the money and husbands, because obviously - gracefully striding down the sidewalk like an Old Hollywood starlet. It's soft, stylish, and, most importantly for me, cozy. (I picked it up in a small, but the coat is also available in extended sizing.) Also pretty important? It happens to only be $42.
The fabric alone is a proven attention-grabber: I stood on the corner of 73rd and 2nd as a street style blogger ran her hand back and forth on the "fur" of my shoulder, ooh-ing and ahh-ing. For someone who cares about that "fashion-forward" title, I imagine that feels a little like Mozart telling you that you're not half bad with a harpsichord. For me, it just means I finally look like I belong in my neighborhood - and it's warm up here.
I Tried the Copper Hair Trend Everyone's Talking About, and It's Even Better Than I Expected
Copper hair is nothing new, but it's certainly caught the attention of everyone in Hollywood and has since trickled its way into almost every Instagram hair account as well as everyday life. After seeing Julianne Hough debut the hue last year, I pledged I'd follow suit and give it a go myself.
I did my research, which consisted of creating a hair inspiration board on Instagram, and called in the professional I truly trusted with such a major hair makeover, Jack Howard, colorist at UK's Paul Edmonds Salon and Schwarzkopf global Blondme ambassador. And boy, was it a transformation. Going copper is no easy feat: it requires time, skill, and money. It's not a quick color you can box dye at home, and you need to be prepared for upkeep, but more on that later. I'm here to convince you why you should go for it if you're considering the copper hue.
Ahead, get a step-by-step look at how Howard transformed me into a fiery copper-haired superhero in all the best ways.

Aquaman and Mera Say Their "I Dos" on the Beach in This Steamy, Sparkling Wedding Shoot
Move over, Ariel and Eric! Aquaman and Mera are about to dethrone the Disney couple with this dazzlingly romantic beach wedding. The two characters have electric chemistry on the big screen in the recent adaptation, and it certainly transferred into this photo shoot that was put together by Cristina of Hermosa Weddings and Events at the Salinas River State Beach in Moss Landing, CA.
"Many DC elements related to Aquaman and his alter ego Arthur Curry were incorporated throughout the design," Cristina said. "The entire design revolved around the colors orange and green, since Aquaman's costume in the DC comic books is orange and green." She also drew upon the sea for inspiration as an ode to Aquaman and Mera's underwater home of Atlantis. The table is a treasure chest draped with linen resembling golden sand and decorated with delicate glass charger plates shaped in the form of shells with elegant turquoise wine glasses. And take a closer look at those place cards . . . some of the names might look familiar if you are a fan of the DC universe. From the sparkling decor details to the couple's steamy sunset ocean shots, take in all the stunning photos of this fantastical beach wedding now!
7 Signs You're in Love With a Liar
My ex-fiancé was a Navy Seal who sometimes worked with the CIA. He met his first wife when he rescued her when she was kidnapped in Iran. He had been held hostage in China. He often took off for far-flung locations, on "secret missions" that he would tell me about when there was "a secure line." Whenever I questioned him about anything - which was often - he went on the offense, attacking my integrity and my inability to trust.
"You interrogate!" he'd bark. "You can't have a relationship without trust."
He was right. You can't. And after a year of beating myself up for being suspicious and cynical, I broke up with him. I couldn't live without knowing what was real and what wasn't. Still, for almost a year and a half, I blamed myself for ruining the best thing that had ever happened to me
I got over that when he was convicted of writing fraudulent prescriptions for Vicodin, among other drugs. My name - along with family members, ex-colleagues, and fictitious people - was among the names he falsified.
I can't tell you how elated I felt when he was sentenced to two years in jail. I'd been right all along! He was a liar!
Still, the question on everyone's mind - including my own - was whether there had been signs, and if I'd missed them.
And the answer is yes.
A large part of the reason I wasn't sure what was going on was because he mixed fact with fiction. He'd never been a Navy Seal, didn't work for the CIA, had never been held hostage in China. His ex-wife had never set foot in Iran. (I also didn't know about the wife before her - or that he was engaged to another woman when he was engaged to me.)
On the other hand, he really was a doctor, was in the Navy, did work in the Pentagon, and was opening up a hospital for kids with cancer in Iraq and Afghanistan.
There was also this: we all see what we want to see, and we believe what we want to see - especially in love. (Hence the phrase "blinded by love.")
Most of us don't live our lives anticipating exploitation. Even when there's actual evidence to the contrary, we give the other person the benefit of the doubt. We're wired to believe that people are inherently good, primarily because society couldn't function without that default. If we all operated in isolation, we would achieve very little, as individuals and as a species.
Trust is de rigueur in society. Likewise in intimate relationships. It makes sense: If we don't trust, we might not have sex. If we don't have sex, the species doesn't continue. And then where would we be?
Finally, the sad reality is that our talent for detecting deception with anyone - friend, foe, lover, family member, or stranger - is no better than a roll of the dice. In fact, the closer you are to someone, the more likely you are to believe them, because your blinders are in place and securely fastened. And unlike Pinocchio, there's no quickly growing protuberance to indicate we're lying.
Still, there are some ways to tell if you're being manipulated and lied to, which I learned when I was researching my book Duped: Double Lives, False Identities, and the Con Man I Almost Married.
1. They're charming.
Dutch researcher Aldert Vrij compiled a list of 18 characteristics common among good liars. Good liars are manipulative, confident, eloquent, quick-witted, able to balance guilt and fear, and - yes - hot. The better looking you are, the more you can get away with.
Yes. We're a shallow bunch.
2. You can't verify anything they say.
You ask to see photos or receipts, you want to meet their friends and family, but something always gets in the way and it never materializes. Although they promise you will, something always gets in the way. You know why? Because they're lying!
3. They go on the offense when you question them.
For years, Lance Armstrong was accused of doping. And any time someone challenged him, there was something wrong with them, not him. Ditto for Richard Nixon, Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Bill O'Reilly, and Harvey Weinstein, all of whom, when faced with clear evidence that they were misbehaving, went after their accusers. They tell us the sky is purple and make us think there's something wrong with us for believing it's blue. When we dare to challenge them, we're the ones with the problem.
4. They're really good storytellers.
In an experiment, Stanford communications professor Jeff Hancock and his research team paid people to write fake reviews of a hotel in New York. Some of the reviewers had really stayed there; others had never set foot in the place.
The liars, they found, focused on narrative. "They make up a story: Who? And what happened? And that's what happened here," Hancock said in a 2012 Ted Talk. "Our fake reviewers talked about who they were with and what they were doing. They also used the first-person singular, 'I,' way more than the people that actually stayed there. They were inserting themselves into the hotel review, kind of trying to convince you they were there."
Those who really had been at the hotel were more concerned with "spatial information": the size of the bathroom, or how close the hotel was from a shopping center.
What Hancock deduced is that our language changes based on the type of lie we're emitting and our motivations for telling it. When being questioned in person, for example, liars in Hancock's study tended to use fewer first-person singular words, even though they opted for first-person singular more often in their fake reviews.
"Our argument is that it depends on what the liar is trying to accomplish, motivation, and how that affects them psychologically," Hancock told me. "The fake reviewer is inserting the self into their story to make it sound more credible, while the liars in the interview may be distancing themselves from the event in question. This has different effects on first-person singular."
5. They use phrases like "Not that I can remember" or "To the best of my knowledge."
If someone is "swearing to god" emphatically, parroting your words, or telling you what a good question you're asking, that usually means they're stalling for time to come up with an acceptable response. They could also be trying to throw you off their scent, distract you, or curry favor by padding your ego.
That's because nonanswer statements give someone time to formulate a better answer or to search for wiggle room to squirm their way out of the question. "People don't realize the distinction between 'I wouldn't do something' versus 'I didn't do something,'" said Phil Houston, coauthor of Spy the Lie. "It creates a real epiphany for them."
6. They use qualifying words.
"Basically," "frankly," "honestly," "fundamentally," "usually," and, of course, "believe me" - Donald Trump's favorite - are red flags. So are qualifying statements like "Trust me," "I'm a good person," and "I'm an honest person."
According to Houston, what you really want to look for are clusters of actions. On its own, for example, rubbing your eye means nothing; a speck of dust could have camped there. But combine that with crossing and uncrossing your arms, rolling your eyes to the heavens above, clearing your throat, shielding your mouth or eyes, adjusting your clothes or hair, inspecting your nails, or saying the word "yes" while shaking your head "no," and there's a pretty good chance someone's not telling the truth. But the clusters must occur in the first five seconds of your interaction, when the liar in question hasn't yet had time to prepare false statements.
Now, none of this is easy. That's why liars get one over on so many of us. You have to look and listen at the same time, and most of us have difficulty doing either one of these things well.
Even experts have a hard time. In a meta-analysis of over 200 studies, psychologist Charles F. Bond and lying researcher Bella DePaulo concluded that people could only spot a liar 47 percent of the time. Experienced job interviewers didn't fare any better (52 percent) when trying to distinguish between candidates who lied about their career histories and those who didn't.
Which brings us to number seven.
7. Whenever possible, get hard evidence.
The only reliable way to detect deception is to have tangible proof: Texts. Emails. Phone records. Bank accounts. Video footage. Your own eyeballs.
Let's imagine that the leader of a major first-world power proclaims that more people showed up to his inauguration than to any other inauguration in the history of presidential elections. If there weren't actual statistics proving otherwise, he could go unchallenged. And even so, he still might launch a full-frontal attack. (See number three, above!) But at least you'll have the goods.
