Annette Bening's Mysterious Role in Captain Marvel Has Been Revealed - Here's What You Should Know
After months of speculation, we finally have a better idea of what Annette Bening's character in Captain Marvel, Supreme Intelligence, is all about.
Now that the March 8 premiere of the '90s-set superhero film is nearly here and rumors about her character are at an all-time high, Bening finally opened up about her role opposite Brie Larson's Carol Danvers (aka the titular Captain Marvel) while chatting with Stephen Colbert on Thursday night, as well as showing off a clip of Supreme Intelligence in action. According to the 20th Century Women actress, the character is "a god-like entity" who was originally a supercomputer in the comics but now has a human counterpart.
"[She's] the leader of the Kree people, the artificial intelligence which consists of the greatest intellects of the Kree people for the last million years," she explained, before introducing the clip featuring her debriefing Captain Marvel about fighting the Skrulls. "She's about to go into battle, and I am preparing her."
The Kree are an alien race, of which Supreme Intelligence and Captain Marvel are both members, as well as Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) and Korath (Djimon Hounsou). The Skrulls are their enemies who have the ability to shapeshift in order to infiltrate planets by looking exactly like their inhabitants, then taking over without anyone realizing. In the film, the Skrulls are led by villain Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), who appears in both his human form and in some intense pale green prosthetics.
Still perplexed? Don't worry - according to Bening, "When the movie comes out, it'll be clear why it was somewhat confusing."
The Dirt: Watch the First Wild Trailer For Netflix's Mötley Crüe Biopic
Are you ready to rock? Because the first trailer for Netflix's Mötley Crüe biopic, The Dirt, has arrived, and the film looks like a wild ride.
The biopic, directed by Jeff Tremaine, is based on the rock band's 2001 autobiography, The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band. Douglas Booth, Iwan Rheon, Colson Baker (aka Machine Gun Kelly), and Daniel Webber star as the core four members of the band - Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Tommy Lee, and Vince Neil - as they go from a mismatched group of misfits playing small rock clubs in Hollywood, to becoming one of the most notorious rock 'n' roll groups in history. Judging from the trailer, watching their rise to international fame will be deeply entertaining.
The Dirt hits Netflix on March 22 and also stars Pete Davidson, Leven Rambin, and David Costabile.
Go See Robyn's Comeback Tour or Regret It Forever - It's Your Decision
Until last night, I'd never seen Robyn in concert before. After last night, I will see Robyn in concert again, as many times as I possibly can. The Swedish pop star returned to the stage on Feb. 22 for the first date on her world tour as part of the Red Bull Music Festival in Hollywood. And she was greeted by an overjoyed audience ready to be raptured up to the pop goddess's personal dance-music heaven.
Before Honey, it had been eight years since Robyn released an album. In the gap between, she suffered the kind of personal blows that can derail a career and a life: the death of one of her closest musical collaborators and the breakup of her long-term relationship. So, from the moment she became almost, sort of visible on the all-white, space-age stage of the Hollywood Palladium - concealed partly by a curtain of guazey fabric - the mood was triumphant. Did we mention she appeared in silver go-go boots and a dress festooned with ruby jeweled nipples? She did that.
Eminem Has 1 Thing to Say to Netflix About The Punisher's Cancellation: "YOU ARE BLOWING IT"
They say you learn something new every day, and in this case, I just learned that Eminem just might be The Punisher's No. 1 fan.
On Wednesday, the 46-year-old rapper hopped on Twitter to shame Netflix about the streaming platform's recent decision to cancel the gritty Marvel series, which starred The Walking Dead alum Jon Bernthal in the title role. As usual, Em didn't mince words, writing, "DEAR @NETFLIX, REGARDING YOUR CANCELLATION OF THE PUNISHER, YOU ARE BLOWING IT!! SINCERELY, MARSHALL."
The Punisher was the last Marvel TV series that Netflix debuted, joining Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, The Defenders, Luke Cage, and Daredevil. They've all been canceled by Netflix (which didn't come as too much of a surprise, given the critical reception of all the shows' recent seasons), but producer Jeph Loeb has since hinted that the series could live again on Hulu now that Disney is in charge.
While we wait to see if Eminem's influence can revive The Punisher in any way, keep reading to see the rapper's hilarious tweet (as well as everyone's entertaining reactions to it).

Whether she's promoting her lip kits or trying to reclaim her throne on Instagram (we still can't believe she got dethroned by an egg), Kylie Jenner somehow manages to make everything look sexy. From selfies to bikini shots, proceed with caution, because Kylie is not playing any games in 2019.
The Haunting of Hill House Will Bring Another Classic Horror Tale to Life in Season 2
This week, Netflix gave us the news we've been desperately hoping for: The Haunting of Hill House will return for a second season sometime in 2019. It really should come as no surprise. After all, the show quickly took off when it premiered back in October 2018, because it stirred gripping fear into a cauldron with intense emotion. The question wasn't a matter of if the second season would happen. It was a question of what it would entail.
The plot thickens. If you read up on the cast and crew quotes about the second season, then you no doubt knew the Crain family would not be back in the show's second installment. "As far as I've ever been concerned with this, the story of the Crain family is told. It's done," creator Mike Flanagan told Entertainment Weekly. "I felt like the Crains have been through enough, and we left them exactly as we all wanted to remember them . . . we really felt like the story demanded a certain kind of closure from us and we were happy to close the book on that family." OK, so in the wake of the Crain family's absence, what are we getting in season two? The answer is actually a more exciting prospect: Haunting is going to be an anthology.
You guessed it. The HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR, a new chapter in the Haunting series based on the works of Henry James, is coming in 2020. pic.twitter.com/nvhRBEfH2E
- The Haunting of Hill House (@haunting) February 21, 2019
Here's what else: this anthology is not going to be all kinds of different stories in and around the notorious Hill House. Season two will be about a different haunted house entirely! After announcing the news, Netflix teased a new location for the second season, then eventually revealed we'd be visiting Bly Manor, the house at the center of Henry James's dreary tale The Turn of the Screw. If you're not familiar, The Turn of the Screw is about a governess who is hired to care for two children at a remote estate. Slowly, she becomes convinced that the entire property is haunted and descends into madness. Sounds like it's right up the alley of Hill House, right?
Since Flanagan gave Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House a bit of a modern update for his adaptation, we're going to assume he'll take some creative liberties with this novella as well. Even so, you can bet the heart of the story will remain intact, which means we will certainly get sucked into the horrifying spiral of horror and insanity we experienced in season one. Stay braced, friends, and prepare for a long stay. The second season will materialize sometime in 2020.
Dumplin' Heartthrob Luke Benward Just Might Play John Ambrose in the TATBILB Sequel
After the credits for To All the Boys I've Loved Before start to roll, the Netflix rom-com slips in an extra scene that hints at what's to come for Lara Jean: the reappearance of one of her childhood crushes, John Ambrose McClaren. Despite assuming that the letter Kitty secretly sent to him got lost in the mail, he shows up on the Covey family's doorstep with a bouquet and Lara Jean's letter (as you can see above, left), seemingly ready to profess his love. Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) better watch out.
Now that we know the upcoming sequel to the film is officially in the works - which is tentatively being called To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2 (the second book in Jenny Han's bestselling series is titled P.S. I Still Love You) - you might be wondering how the new character fits into Lara Jean's life, but also who's going to play him. Well, there's a chance the role might be recast and go to another one of your Netflix rom-com faves: Dumplin's Luke Benward!
While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Benward (who plays Bo in Dumplin' and also happens to be BFFs with Centineo IRL) revealed that he's hopeful he gets cast in the role of John. Nothing is even close to official just yet, however, and it's mostly a running gag he has with fans who'd like to see him join the film:
"Honestly, I'm just messing around. There's nothing to it right now. I just like playing with people. People were getting excited about it, I thought might as well instigate a little bit. Yeah, I'm an antagonizer. I have been since I've been a little kid, so sometimes I can't resist . . . I'll be honest, I don't really remember John Ambrose. I'll probably have to watch the movie again but like I said, I'd love to work with my boy. We'll have to see how it shakes down, but I'm not opposed to it."
If you haven't read the books, then allow us to fill you in just a bit: John Ambrose McClaren is one of the five guys Lara Jean writes her letters to (as well as Peter, Lucas, Josh, and Kenny). Kenny from camp's letter gets returned to the sender, but Lara Jean never hears from John Ambrose, a boy that she knew from Model UN, and assumes his letter got lost in the mail. It's not until P.S. I Still Love You that John Ambrose makes a play for Lara Jean and ends up being stiff competition for Peter. You see, the first book actually ends with Lara and Peter still broken up, and in the second we discover that she and Peter actually were good friends with John Ambrose back in middle school before he moved.
Other important things to know about John? He's incredibly handsome, well-mannered, polite, and, above all, very romantic. As painful as it is to imagine Lara Jean with anyone but Peter K, we have to say that John Ambrose puts up quite a good fight for her heart. So, while actor Jordan Burtchett appears as the newcomer for a split second in the postcredits scene, we can totally see Luke Benward taking on the role. And just in case you need reminding of why we think so, allow this GIF to explain on our behalf:
Oh, and THIS one, too:
Swoon.
A Star Is Born's Sam Elliott Is Handsome Now, But DAMN, Look at These Pics From the '70s
Sam Elliott is one of those actors who seems like he's been around forever and has been in pretty much everything. A veteran character actor, Elliott is a first-time Oscar nominee this year, nominated for best supporting actor for his work on the musical drama A Star Is Born. Elliott has been easily recognizable onscreen for decades, with his slightly grizzled look and often a rather expressive mustache that wouldn't be out of place in a Western film (and has been in plenty of them). But in the early days of his career, in the 1960s and 1970s, Elliott's look was decidedly different. Check out a handful of pictures from Elliott's past below - what do you think?
Big Winners and Fun Celebrity Photos - Here Are the Best Moments From the Spirit Awards!
On Feb. 23, some of Hollywood's biggest celebrities descended on Santa Monica, CA, to celebrate notable independent films at the Spirit Awards. Glenn Close made a fun appearance on the red carpet with her dog, Pip, and other stars such as Regina King and Dakota Johnson flashed bright smiles for the cameras. Legion star Aubrey Plaza hosted the show, and Sterling K. Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Taraji P. Henson, and Amanda Seyfried presented some of the honors. While If Beale Street Could Talk took home the trophy for best feature, Richard E. Grant continued to have a quietly successful award season by snagging best supporting male actor for Can You Ever Forgive Me?. There were quite a few fun moments both on and off stage, so keep scrolling to see the best pictures from the event!
Michael Bublé Gets Blown Away by This Fan After Asking Her to Sing During His Concert
On Feb. 20, Michael Bublé held a concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City, but he ended up being the one impressed with someone else's vocals. During the show, he gave an audience member named Erin Bellucci a chance to sing one of her favorite songs: Etta James's "At Last." Before he handed over the microphone, he told the audience, "Don't be terrible judges. Be more Blake [Shelton] than Simon Cowell," he joked, referencing the former American Idol and The Voice judges. But we have a feeling both Shelton and Cowell would have been in awe of Bellucci's impromptu performance.
As soon as she started belting, the crowd broke out in applause while Bublé looked on in amazement. After she finished, Bublé couldn't hold in his excitement, saying, "You're the next American Idol! That was so beautiful. That was incredible - too incredible, if you ask me." Watch Bellucci sing "At Last," and Bublé's stunned reaction in the video ahead!
Netflix Created a Rom-Com Version of You, and It's So Sweet, It'll Drive You Crazy
Warning: mild You spoilers ahead!
Netflix's You is many things: thrilling, chilling, steamy, and terrifying. However, it's not a romantic comedy. But what if you removed all the cyberstalking, real-life stalking, obsession, and, uh, murder? Well, you might get a sweet love story! It just wouldn't be about Joe Goldberg and Guinevere Beck. Joe and Beck - played by Penn Badgley and Elizabeth Lail, respectively - were the key focus of the show's first season. Joe's dark nature doomed the couple from the start, and I certainly didn't root for them to stay together. Yet, another romantic (less-psychotic) relationship blossomed in the background: Joe's Mooney's bookstore coworker, Ethan (Zach Cherry), was searching for love and found it with Beck's classmate Blythe (Hari Nef).
Netflix went ahead and re-imagined You from the lens of Ethan and Blythe in a fake movie trailer. Thank god their storyline isn't insane, it's just insanely sweet. Joe is relegated to the wary best friend role, and you know what, I like this less serial-killer side of him so much better. But don't expect sappiness like this from the real show - I'll be back to my distrusting ways once season two rolls around. Check out the trailer below!
12 YA Books Coming to the Big Screen (or Netflix) in 2019
There are plenty of book-to-movie adaptations coming your way in 2019, but some of the most exciting projects are the YA books set to become films. Last year was huge for YA adaptations with movies like Love, Simon, To All the Boys I've Loved Before, and The Kissing Booth leaving fans of all ages swooning. While there are plenty of romantic adaptations coming your way in 2019, there's also a nightmarish anthology series heading to the big screen, a classic steampunk caper getting the Disney treatment, and so much more. Mark your calendars now, because it's looking like all of these YA films will be must-see.
America's Got Talent: All 42 Incredible Acts That Earned Golden Buzzers
The coveted golden buzzer is only awarded a few times per season on America's Got Talent. Beginning in season nine, each judge was given the ability to send one act directly from the audition round to the quarterfinals; the following year, guest judges were also given the ability to use a golden buzzer once each during the judges' cuts round. Over the course of the past five seasons, more than 40 acts have received this award, ranging from more "traditional" acts like singers and dancers to quirky performance artists, puppeteers, and more. We've collected every single golden buzzer-winning performance in AGT history below - revisit your favorites now!
Ahead of the Oscars, Here Are All the Awards "Shallow" Has Already Won
Unless you've been living in a cave with no internet access, you probably already know that A Star Is Born's "Shallow" has pretty much become the breakout song of the season. Not only has it been covered by everyone from Kelly Clarkson to Alicia Keys to Lea Michele and Darren Criss (and inspired a figure skating program!), but it's also nominated for the best original song Oscar and is slated to be performed on the broadcast along with the other nominees. Although nothing is set in stone until the envelope is opened on the Oscars stage, we'd guess the odds of "Shallow" winning are pretty good, given that it's swept through award season and taken home a pretty big haul of awards so far!
At the Capri Hollywood International Film Festival in January, "Shallow" was awarded the prize for best original song; A Star Is Born also took home awards for its sound mixing and sound editing. Several critics' organizations have also recognized "Shallow" with variations on best song of the year awards. The Critics' Choice Awards presented the song with best song honors at its ceremony, where Lady Gaga was a dual winner: one for cowriting "Shallow," the other for best actress for her leading role as Ally. Meanwhile, the Detroit Film Critics Society awarded A Star Is Born with its recognition for best use of music, which includes "Shallow" as the film's signature song. "Shallow" itself was recognized by the Georgia Film Critics Association for best original song, and it won the same award from the Houston Film Critics Society.
Award season prognosticator Gold Derby holds its own awards each year, and on its 2019 list of winners, it honored "Shallow" and its songwriters Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt with the prize for best song. The Guild of Music Supervisors Awards also rewarded "Shallow" in the category of best song or recording created for a film. Similarly, the Hollywood Music in Media Awards handed top musical honors to the song, plus an award for music supervision in a film to music supervisors Julianne Jordan and Julia Michaels.
Of course, "Shallow"'s honors haven't been limited to smaller-scale award shows or film critic honors. In fact, it's been up for major prizes at some of the biggest award shows of the year - and it's done pretty well. At the Grammy Awards, "Shallow" was up for four awards, including the big two: record of the year and song of the year. Although the song didn't take home either of those awards, it did win in its other two nominated categories: best pop duo/group performance (for Gaga and costar Bradley Cooper) and best song written for visual media. This marked the first time "Shallow" was specifically recognized both for its performance and for its writing. Gaga also performed a rock-tinged arrangement of the song for the Grammys broadcast.
At the Golden Globes this year, the nomination for "Shallow" was just one of five for A Star Is Born. By the end of the night, the film had lost all of the awards it was nominated for - except this one. "Shallow" did take home the award for best original song, which seems like a good indicator of its status as the favorite heading into the Oscars!
These 6 Oscar Nominees Have Already Taken Home the Gold
We can't wait to see which of this year's talented Oscar nominees go home with a brand-new statuette. Thanks to an eclectic crop of nominated films, the nominees this year are a blend of longtime veterans and fresh faces, making for an incredibly exciting award season. While Hollywood's biggest names and newcomers get ready for the big night, several of the 2019 nominees are already pros at the whole Oscars cycle - because they've been here before. Before you fill out your Oscar ballot this year, take a look at which nominees have already made at least one Oscars acceptance speech in years past!
Grab Your Headphones! Time to Listen to This Year's Oscar-Nominated Songs
Bradley Cooper may have been snubbed in the best director category for the 2019 Oscars, but his film A Star Is Born still came away with a lot of nominations, including best original song for "Shallow." Also making the hot list in this year's nominations is Black Panther, which scored a nod for best original song alongside its nomination for best picture and others. Add that to songs from Mary Poppins Returns, RBG, and Ballad of Buster Scruggs and you've got yourself a nice, diverse list of songs for this year's award show. To familiarize yourself with them before the big night on Feb. 24, keep reading to hear them all.
Ryan Murphy Has Announced a Brand-New Netflix Show, and It's All About . . . Hollywood?
It's been a good year since Ryan Murphy signed his huge Netflix deal, and now we have proof that quite a lot has been going on behind the scenes. In addition to the comedy series The Politician and the terrifying prequel Ratched, The Hollywood Reporter has unveiled yet another show called Hollywood. What's more, we already have a good indicator that the show is going to be great: Murphy is cocreating it with his longtime partner Ian Brennan, with whom he made Glee and Scream Queens.
So what, exactly, will it be about? THR reports that the series will be a "love letter to the Golden Age of Tinseltown." This could mean it will follow in the glorious, glamorous footsteps of Feud: Bette and Joan, which certainly took us back to a bygone Hollywood era. We'd love more of that sharp comedic bite anyway. As for the other details such as characters, story, release date, etc.? Well, that's still under lock and key in Murphy's office. In due time, friends.
Sorry, but It Could Be a While Before Luther Season 5 Is on Netflix
After nearly four years without new episodes, Idris Elba's acclaimed drama Luther finally aired a new season. The BBC kicked off 2019 with a quartet of new episodes, which were thrillingly well-received in the UK. Luther's fan base, though, has long since expanded far beyond British borders, especially to American fans who have caught up on the series thanks to its presence on Netflix. So when can we expect to see season five of Luther on the streaming platform?
Although the previous four seasons are already available for streaming on Netflix, there is currently no set date for Luther's fifth season to arrive on the platform. The season finale aired on Jan. 4 on BBC One in the UK, after a four-episode season over the course of four consecutive days. Netflix and the BBC haven't said anything about when they plan to release the fifth season of the crime drama on American Netflix, but if we look at past seasons, you might notice a pattern that could hint at a Fall release date.
The first three seasons of Luther appeared on Netflix in September 2014; the fourth season was added two years later in September 2016. If this pattern of new Luther content in September holds, then it's possible we'll see the fifth season added to Netflix this September as well. The good news (if you have cable) is that BBC America will be airing the episodes beginning on June 2. For those of us without cable, well, we'll just be rewatching the first four seasons while we wait!
7 Times Christian Bale Completely Transformed For a Movie Role
Among Hollywood's A-listers, there are few actors who are as willing to throw themselves physically and mentally into a role as Christian Bale. The Welsh actor is famous for his intense roles and his remarkable ability to shape his body to the demands of any part, whether it's nearly starving himself down to a terrifying weight, bulking up for action scenes, putting on a bit of a belly, or becoming totally unrecognizable. There's apparently no physical challenge too great for Bale, which has resulted in some downright surprising appearances in films over the years.
Ahead, we're looking at some of his most physically demanding roles - and how he got himself into the characters' bodies.

For John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, their recent discussions with the former president and first lady in Oakland, CA, varied, from basketball talk to revealing obscure crushes. During a visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, John told Jimmy what went down when Chrissy shared her Secret Service agent fascination with Barack and Michelle.
"She said if she didn't marry me, she would've married a guy in Secret Service," John explained. "She's very into this whole Secret Service . . . the aura around them."

Are Horror Movies Cursed at the Oscars? 9 Scary Movies That Have Been Nominated
Horror is one of the most popular film genres, but it's never really been a favorite at the big award shows - especially the Oscars. In general, horror movies have mostly been relegated to minor technical categories overall. Even so, a handful of excellent horror movies have managed to break through and snag nominations in some of the most high-profile categories - and a few have even taken home the night's big prizes! Ahead, you can see which iconic horror movies have been honored with the film industry's biggest awards.
Game of Thrones: Bran Is on a Collision Course With the Night King According to This Theory
Since Game of Thrones began, Bran Stark has been key to setting major events in motion. When Jaime throws him from the tower in season one, he puts Bran on the path to becoming the Three-Eyed Raven, and Bran's injury is the start of the Starks' downfall. It's always been clear that Bran's an important character, but a new fan theory suggests that he's even more important than anyone realized.
One of the big questions going into the final season is who will defeat the Night King and his army? A lot of people are betting on Jon Snow, because he didn't come back from the dead for nothing. But Reddit user juligen makes a compelling argument for why Bran is the one destined to end the Night King's reign. For quite some time now the show's been playing up the idea that Bran and the Night King are connected. From the scene where the young Stark is out warging when he realizes the undead king can not only see him, but also touch him, to the Night King sending a portion of his army to the cave in an attempt to kill Bran, these two characters are connected. And given the actions of the Night King, it's no stretch to speculate that he could be scared of Bran because he knows Bran is the only one capable of defeating him.
The Reddit theory notes the sheer number of times that characters like Jojen, Meera, and the former Three-Eyed Raven have emphasized how important it is to keep Bran alive. In season three, Jojen tells Bran, "I have seen the only thing that matters . . . you." Then in season six, the Three-Eyed Raven says to the Stark boy, "You think I wanted to sit here for a thousand years, watching the world from a distance as the roots grew through me? . . . I was waiting for you." Even Bran's undead Uncle Benjen seems to know what's up when he says in season six, "One way or another, he [the Night King] will find his way to the world of men. And when he does, you will be there waiting for him. And you will be ready."
It's hard to ignore so many quotes pointing toward Bran and the Night King facing off against one another before the series ends. The bigger question is how Bran will defeat the Night King. Now that he's the reigning Three-Eyed Raven, he has the ability to visit the past, and he can also warg. So far, his ability to time travel has confirmed Jon Snow's parentage and revealed the tragic secret behind Hodor's name, but it seems unlikely that the answer to stopping the Night King will involve Bran time-traveling. Some fans seem to think it will involve him flying instead.
Another Reddit user, ded_a_chek, posits that Bran warging into Viserion and taking control of the dragon will be the turning point in the war against the Night King and will lead to his fall. Since Bran's been dreaming of flying since season one, that would be a poetic way to bring his story full circle. But maybe his role in the final war will be even bigger - Game of Thrones has been hinting that Bran and the Night King's connection runs deep for a long time. Now fans will just have to wait and see if Bran truly is the only one who can stop the Night King's reign of terror.

Watch Out For These Signs That Someone on a Dating App Is Married or Taken
If you're single and browsing the dating app world, you're probably in the market for other single ladies and fellas out there to chat with online. You're most likely not interested in meeting people who are in committed relationships or are married when browsing nonaffair sites like Tinder or Bumble. Unfortunately, you never know who is really behind that profile. Earlier this year, Tinder crashed nationwide, and there was a surge in Ashley Madison by 20 percent with new member sign-ups in both the US and the UK. Why? Well, according to a 2015 survey of around 1,282 active Tinder users (at the time there were around 50 million people on Tinder), nearly 30 percent of Tinder users are married, while another 12 percent are in a relationship. Yikes. While this was a small sampling, and who really knows if people tell the truth in those kinds of surveys, it is a good reminder to keep your guard up when you're dating online. Don't fall for liars on Tinder and other dating apps - prepare yourself with these tips. Here are the red flags to look out for that someone you meet on a dating site is either married or taken.

The Bride Was the Belle of the Ball in This Beauty and the Beast-Themed Engagement Shoot
Lydia and Patrick celebrated their engagement by emulating Beauty and the Beast in this gorgeous themed photo shoot that took place at the Dayton Art Institute in Ohio. Photographer Sarah Babcock was there to capture these cute moments between the couple, and she said that the day was "a romantic cosplay Beauty and the Beast engagement session." Lydia wore a stunning golden gown with pleated detailing to channel her inner Belle, and it looked straight out of the Disney fairy tale. Patrick wore a royal blue tailcoat embellished with golden buttons and embroidery with matching pants and white knee-length socks.
The pair then swapped their costumes for matching baby-blue outfits to pose at a secondary outdoor location with an "And they lived happily ever after" sign to stick with the fairy-tale theme. Lydia even posed with some books, which was a nod toward Belle's love of reading in Beauty and the Beast. See the gorgeous photos from this fantastical engagement shoot ahead.

The Sexiest Books of All Time Will Have You Blushing With Every Turn of the Page
Sexiness in books is preconceived to be limited to romance novels, but it's more than that. It's a universal concept that takes on many connotations about having power and agency and challenging old norms about sex. Whether it's Lolita and Anna Karenina for class or picking up Zane's book for pleasure (pun intended), these stories center on a woman's narrative or celebrate sexuality in a liberating way that's not exclusive to romance. Books that were considered too scandalous and taboo for society are now being praised for their revolutionary schools of thought, particularly now because we are at a juncture in society where we're having open discourses about sex and pushing marginalized voices to the forefront. The impressive books on this list have been doing that way before it registered in our collective consciousness.
This Woman Clapped Back to Donald Trump Jr.'s "Loser Teachers" Comment in the Best Way
In case you missed it, while at a rally in El Paso, TX, on Feb. 11, Donald Trump Jr. referred to teachers in America as "losers." In a speech aimed to pump up his father's conservative base, he got on the topic of education and said, "You don't have to be indoctrinated by these loser teachers that are trying to sell you on socialism from birth. You don't have to do it. Because you can think for yourselves. They can't."
First off: sure, Jan. Secondly, his choice of words quickly started a movement on social media using the hashtag #loserteacher, and many educators took part in it. One New York-based teacher named Kirsten Thiel Clagnaz opted to pen her own response on Facebook, and it's sharp.
"I am the loser teacher who promised her emotionally compromised students in the days after Sandy Hook that I would keep them safe."
"I am that 'loser teacher,'" she wrote. "I am the loser teacher who asks parents not to label all of their child's supplies, because I know there will be children who don't, or can't bring in a box of crayons, and I want all the crayons to be our crayons. I am the loser teacher who asks parents that can send in a nice snack for their child to consider also sending in a bag of pretzels or box of cereal so the kids who don't have a snack to bring can have snack with their friends too."
For many teachers throughout the US, sometimes that means spending their own money to buy supplies for their classrooms.
"I am the loser teacher who will go out and buy those missing supplies or snacks if we run out," she wrote. "I am the loser teacher who will put one kids extra clothes on another if the need arises, because I assume nobody would want to let any child sit in soiled clothes. I am the loser teacher who tries to push language like 'we' instead of 'I,' and 'ours' instead of 'mine.'"
And it's not just school supplies she's worried about. With security threats that warrant regular lockdown drills, Kirsten admitted she has a lot more on her plate.
"I am the loser teacher who strives to have children help one another up if they fall, wait when someone needs extra time, seek help from one another, offer help to each other, and ultimately learn and grow together," she said. "And I am the loser teacher comforting students in a lockdown drill. I am the loser teacher who promised her emotionally compromised students in the days after Sandy Hook that I would keep them safe."
Despite the disgraceful choice of words from the president's son, she still shows up to work every single day ready to teach the youth of today.
"I am the loser teacher who knows that this kind of rhetoric from the president's son, on a national stage, emboldens people who would come into a school to hurt children and teachers," she wrote. "I am the loser teacher heading into work today to offer unconditional love and support to the children with whom I work, despite the challenges I face personally, and despite the disrespect teachers face nationally."
