Watch Out For These Signs That Someone on a Dating App Is Married or Taken
If you're single and browsing the dating app world, you're probably in the market for other single ladies and fellas out there to chat with online. You're most likely not interested in meeting people who are in committed relationships or are married when browsing nonaffair sites like Tinder or Bumble. Unfortunately, you never know who is really behind that profile. Earlier this year, Tinder crashed nationwide, and there was a surge in Ashley Madison by 20 percent with new member sign-ups in both the US and the UK. Why? Well, according to a 2015 survey of around 1,282 active Tinder users (at the time there were around 50 million people on Tinder), nearly 30 percent of Tinder users are married, while another 12 percent are in a relationship. Yikes. While this was a small sampling, and who really knows if people tell the truth in those kinds of surveys, it is a good reminder to keep your guard up when you're dating online. Don't fall for liars on Tinder and other dating apps - prepare yourself with these tips. Here are the red flags to look out for that someone you meet on a dating site is either married or taken.

This Dad Put a Mic on His 4-Year-Old at Hockey Practice, and It Is Outrageously Cute
Ever wonder what your kid is thinking when they're muttering to themselves in the middle of a sports game? Sure, you get to hear their thoughts almost every second of each day, but what are they saying when you're not listening? Well, Twitter user @howtohockey, or "Coach Jeremy," got the inside scoop by putting a mic on his 4-year-old son Mason at hockey practice. Turns out, little kids just want McDonald's, to play with their friends, and to take some breaks. Same, Mason, same.
Watch the full video above, and chuckle along with every adorable Mason quote. My personal favorite? "I'm gonna have a nap!"
Eminem Has 1 Thing to Say to Netflix About The Punisher's Cancellation: "YOU ARE BLOWING IT"
They say you learn something new every day, and in this case, I just learned that Eminem just might be The Punisher's No. 1 fan.
On Wednesday, the 46-year-old rapper hopped on Twitter to shame Netflix about the streaming platform's recent decision to cancel the gritty Marvel series, which starred The Walking Dead alum Jon Bernthal in the title role. As usual, Em didn't mince words, writing, "DEAR @NETFLIX, REGARDING YOUR CANCELLATION OF THE PUNISHER, YOU ARE BLOWING IT!! SINCERELY, MARSHALL."
The Punisher was the last Marvel TV series that Netflix debuted, joining Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, The Defenders, Luke Cage, and Daredevil. They've all been canceled by Netflix (which didn't come as too much of a surprise, given the critical reception of all the shows' recent seasons), but producer Jeph Loeb has since hinted that the series could live again on Hulu now that Disney is in charge.
While we wait to see if Eminem's influence can revive The Punisher in any way, keep reading to see the rapper's hilarious tweet (as well as everyone's entertaining reactions to it).

The Haunting of Hill House Will Bring Another Classic Horror Tale to Life in Season 2
This week, Netflix gave us the news we've been desperately hoping for: The Haunting of Hill House will return for a second season sometime in 2019. It really should come as no surprise. After all, the show quickly took off when it premiered back in October 2018, because it stirred gripping fear into a cauldron with intense emotion. The question wasn't a matter of if the second season would happen. It was a question of what it would entail.
The plot thickens. If you read up on the cast and crew quotes about the second season, then you no doubt knew the Crain family would not be back in the show's second installment. "As far as I've ever been concerned with this, the story of the Crain family is told. It's done," creator Mike Flanagan told Entertainment Weekly. "I felt like the Crains have been through enough, and we left them exactly as we all wanted to remember them . . . we really felt like the story demanded a certain kind of closure from us and we were happy to close the book on that family." OK, so in the wake of the Crain family's absence, what are we getting in season two? The answer is actually a more exciting prospect: Haunting is going to be an anthology.
You guessed it. The HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR, a new chapter in the Haunting series based on the works of Henry James, is coming in 2020. pic.twitter.com/nvhRBEfH2E
- The Haunting of Hill House (@haunting) February 21, 2019
Here's what else: this anthology is not going to be all kinds of different stories in and around the notorious Hill House. Season two will be about a different haunted house entirely! After announcing the news, Netflix teased a new location for the second season, then eventually revealed we'd be visiting Bly Manor, the house at the center of Henry James's dreary tale The Turn of the Screw. If you're not familiar, The Turn of the Screw is about a governess who is hired to care for two children at a remote estate. Slowly, she becomes convinced that the entire property is haunted and descends into madness. Sounds like it's right up the alley of Hill House, right?
Since Flanagan gave Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House a bit of a modern update for his adaptation, we're going to assume he'll take some creative liberties with this novella as well. Even so, you can bet the heart of the story will remain intact, which means we will certainly get sucked into the horrifying spiral of horror and insanity we experienced in season one. Stay braced, friends, and prepare for a long stay. The second season will materialize sometime in 2020.
Dumplin' Heartthrob Luke Benward Just Might Play John Ambrose in the TATBILB Sequel
After the credits for To All the Boys I've Loved Before start to roll, the Netflix rom-com slips in an extra scene that hints at what's to come for Lara Jean: the reappearance of one of her childhood crushes, John Ambrose McClaren. Despite assuming that the letter Kitty secretly sent to him got lost in the mail, he shows up on the Covey family's doorstep with a bouquet and Lara Jean's letter (as you can see above, left), seemingly ready to profess his love. Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) better watch out.
Now that we know the upcoming sequel to the film is officially in the works - which is tentatively being called To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2 (the second book in Jenny Han's bestselling series is titled P.S. I Still Love You) - you might be wondering how the new character fits into Lara Jean's life, but also who's going to play him. Well, there's a chance the role might be recast and go to another one of your Netflix rom-com faves: Dumplin's Luke Benward!
While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Benward (who plays Bo in Dumplin' and also happens to be BFFs with Centineo IRL) revealed that he's hopeful he gets cast in the role of John. Nothing is even close to official just yet, however, and it's mostly a running gag he has with fans who'd like to see him join the film:
"Honestly, I'm just messing around. There's nothing to it right now. I just like playing with people. People were getting excited about it, I thought might as well instigate a little bit. Yeah, I'm an antagonizer. I have been since I've been a little kid, so sometimes I can't resist . . . I'll be honest, I don't really remember John Ambrose. I'll probably have to watch the movie again but like I said, I'd love to work with my boy. We'll have to see how it shakes down, but I'm not opposed to it."
If you haven't read the books, then allow us to fill you in just a bit: John Ambrose McClaren is one of the five guys Lara Jean writes her letters to (as well as Peter, Lucas, Josh, and Kenny). Kenny from camp's letter gets returned to the sender, but Lara Jean never hears from John Ambrose, a boy that she knew from Model UN, and assumes his letter got lost in the mail. It's not until P.S. I Still Love You that John Ambrose makes a play for Lara Jean and ends up being stiff competition for Peter. You see, the first book actually ends with Lara and Peter still broken up, and in the second we discover that she and Peter actually were good friends with John Ambrose back in middle school before he moved.
Other important things to know about John? He's incredibly handsome, well-mannered, polite, and, above all, very romantic. As painful as it is to imagine Lara Jean with anyone but Peter K, we have to say that John Ambrose puts up quite a good fight for her heart. So, while actor Jordan Burtchett appears as the newcomer for a split second in the postcredits scene, we can totally see Luke Benward taking on the role. And just in case you need reminding of why we think so, allow this GIF to explain on our behalf:
Oh, and THIS one, too:
Swoon.

This Wedding Is a Spectacular Ode to Iconic Movies - From Disney Classics to Ghostbusters
If you're going to have a wedding, why not include some Easter eggs from your favorite movies? That's exactly what Nycole and Jorge did when they tied the knot in a wildly entertaining ceremony at the Loft on Pine in Long Beach, CA. "From the Ghostbusters invites, outfits, and gadgets to the Disney seating chart, seat tickets, and knickknacks, this wedding was filled with personality and definitely spoke to who they were as a couple!" said their wedding photographer from Our Story Creative.
Keep your eyes peeled for all the hidden details at this wedding, like the many references to the Pixar movie Up. If you grew up in the '80s, you'll especially appreciate the throwbacks to movies from that era, like Back to the Future and Gremlins. A Star Is Born's Sam Elliott Is Handsome Now, But DAMN, Look at These Pics From the '70s
Sam Elliott is one of those actors who seems like he's been around forever and has been in pretty much everything. A veteran character actor, Elliott is a first-time Oscar nominee this year, nominated for best supporting actor for his work on the musical drama A Star Is Born. Elliott has been easily recognizable onscreen for decades, with his slightly grizzled look and often a rather expressive mustache that wouldn't be out of place in a Western film (and has been in plenty of them). But in the early days of his career, in the 1960s and 1970s, Elliott's look was decidedly different. Check out a handful of pictures from Elliott's past below - what do you think?
This Couple Got a Second Chance at Their "First Look," and It Was Worth the Wait
Even though Solomon and Jourdan tied the knot over a year ago, they did not get the opportunity to take some stunning first-look photos that they were looking forward to. "Nothing went according to our game plan," said Jourdan, who wanted beautiful and romantic portraits of her husband seeing her in her wedding dress for the very first time. So the couple decided to take matters into their own hands and get some gorgeous wedding photos in their second year of marriage.
"When they reached out to me for some portraits, and after hearing their story, I suggested we go the extra step and re-create a first look and create new memories," said Elina Levy, the photographer who captured these amazing photos. "We arranged for a cake from the local bakery, a beautiful bouquet, and an intimate table setting."
While Solomon opted to wear his original suit from their wedding day, Jourdan wore a new white gown so that the experience of Solomon seeing her in a wedding dress for the first time would be authentic, resulting in heartfelt first-look photos.
This photo shoot took place on the sandy shores of Bling Pass Beach in Florida, which was the perfect backdrop for this breathtaking shoot. Make sure to see all the moving photos ahead!

Selena Gomez's Maid of Honor Gown Is So Celestial, I Could Check My Horoscope on It
The bride may wear white to a wedding, but when Selena Gomez is the maid of honor, she wears black. At least, that was the case during Courtney Barry's wedding on Feb. 22. Selena's longtime friend tied the knot in Los Angeles on Friday, and chose the 26-year-old singer to lead her bridal party.
For the occasion, Selena chose a now-sold-out black Prada gown, embellished with crystals and tulle. She looked like the starry night sky, come to life, as she danced with friends to her own song "Hands to Myself." She paired the gorgeous dress with dangling diamond Norman Silverman earrings and a bold red lip. How chic! Ahead, see more snaps of Selena's look from the celebration and shop similar styles for yourself.

The Bride Was the Belle of the Ball in This Beauty and the Beast-Themed Engagement Shoot
Lydia and Patrick celebrated their engagement by emulating Beauty and the Beast in this gorgeous themed photo shoot that took place at the Dayton Art Institute in Ohio. Photographer Sarah Babcock was there to capture these cute moments between the couple, and she said that the day was "a romantic cosplay Beauty and the Beast engagement session." Lydia wore a stunning golden gown with pleated detailing to channel her inner Belle, and it looked straight out of the Disney fairy tale. Patrick wore a royal blue tailcoat embellished with golden buttons and embroidery with matching pants and white knee-length socks.
The pair then swapped their costumes for matching baby-blue outfits to pose at a secondary outdoor location with an "And they lived happily ever after" sign to stick with the fairy-tale theme. Lydia even posed with some books, which was a nod toward Belle's love of reading in Beauty and the Beast. See the gorgeous photos from this fantastical engagement shoot ahead.
We Talked to a Nutritionist to Get the Skinny on Drinking Water For Weight Loss
Back in 2016, a study went viral because it promised a simple, easy way to lose weight: simply drink 16 ounces of water before eating. Since then, the tip has found its way into nearly every article about weight loss. Obviously, being hydrated is important, but does it actually help you in your weight-loss efforts? POPSUGAR spoke to Maya Feller, MS, RD, CDN, CLC of Maya Feller Nutrition, a registered dietitian and nutritionist who works with patients who need weight management and those looking for nutritional management of diet-related chronic illnesses.
"There is some research that supports the statement that drinking water prior to a meal may result in a decrease in energy intake and therefore mild to moderate weight loss," Feller said, noting that other studies found that this effect is so variable from person to person that it's not reliable. "Is this something that I suggest for my patients? No," she added. "I would rather we work to identify internal hunger and satiety rather than preloading [the body] with water."
You should still strive to be adequately hydrated, regardless of your weight-loss goals. Dehydration can affect your mood and cause headaches and fatigue - not to mention, one study found a link between inadequate hydration and risk of obesity.
While the ideal daily water intake varies from person to person, "the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined men should aim for 125 ounces daily and women should aim for 91 ounces daily," said Feller. Factors like age, gender, physical activity, climate, and health status can cause your daily needs to fluctuate. The easiest way to tell if you're properly hydrated, Feller said, is to look at your urine. "Urine that is dark in color can be an indication that you haven't had enough water and conversely clear urine can be a sign that you are overhydrating. Rather, the ideal is a pale yellow," she said.
But here's the thing about plain water: it's really boring to drink. If you struggle to drink enough water throughout the day, Feller suggested unsweetened herbal tea as an alternative. You can also infuse water with herbs and fruit to make it more flavorful.
If your problem is forgetfulness, she recommended setting a reminder on your phone or computer, or keeping a reusable water bottle on your desk. If you go this route, just remember to wash the bottle - because it's dark and damp, it's a breeding ground for bacteria. And whatever you do, please (please!), don't drink it like this.

This Is the Only Face Mask I've Tried That Gives Me Glowing Skin Overnight
"Your skin looks great."
It's one of the greatest compliments I can receive. As someone who has battled with my skin for years, I am finally being diligent about my skin care. I've learned that too much product overwhelms my face, so I stick to a few tried and true steps in my everyday routine. The one area I'm really excited to experiment with is masks. As previously stated, I've had a few skin issues I've tried to correct, among them clogged pores, acne scars, and dullness. All that means masks are my friends, and I very much believe in their power to change your face.
But back to this compliment. It came from a fellow beauty editor, and I know she wouldn't say anything if it weren't true. I mentally went back through the past few days and nights. Had I eaten something different? Drank more water? Nope, but I had been using this Kora Organics Noni Glow Sleeping Mask ($48) all week. And let me tell you, it is magic.
Kora Organics was started by Miranda Kerr. Her skin is flawless, and when she started this certified organic line of products, people clamored to finally get some supermodel secrets. This mask in particular is a sleeping mask, meaning you apply it, then go to bed, rinsing it off the next morning. This is ideal for a lazy girl like me. The texture is light and bouncy, and a little bit sticky at first, but give it five minutes and it soaks in nicely. I've tried other masks before that claim to give your skin a serious glow, and nothing has come close to the results I get from this one. My skin looks healthy, hydrated, and bouncy, like I've just had a facial.
No matter what type of skin you have, I highly recommend this face mask. As someone who's all about results, this delivers big time. Even in the dead of Winter, I look like I've just come off the beach. The product is certified "clean" at Sephora, meaning there's no sulfates, parabens, or formaldehydes, plus, the whole line is organic; it's something I really feel good about putting on my face. Don't sleep on this one.
See Ya, Lavender - Periwinkle Is Our New Favorite Pastel Hair Color
Pastel-hued hair is filling our Instagram feeds thick and fast, and guess what? We're still not bored of it. From "sweetheart" hair to "orange blossom" hair and even "squirt gun" hair, there is so much inspiration out there, we can barely take it. But we might just have found our favorite color yet: periwinkle. Part of the blue and violet family, periwinkle is the pretty in-between shade that mixes pastels with vibrant pops of color. (Even Cardi B is a fan.)
Whether you opt for an all-over color or take inspiration from the "blackberry" hair color trend and choose swirls of the hue, get a closer look at some of the best periwinkle hair color ideas ahead.

Veneers, Microinfusion Facials, and Fillers: Here's How Celebrities Gear Up For the Red Carpet
At this point, in large part because of social media, we all know the "effortless" beauty we see on the red carpet is hardly void of effort. In fact, many celebrities spend months preparing for their debut at an award show. Do you blame them? With close-ups, high-resolution photos, and gossip sites ready to pounce on one misstep (or "flaw" - whatever that means), those who step onto the red-fabric road are subject to intense and unfair scrutiny.
One facet of pulling together an award-season look is gorgeous, glowing, taut skin. You know what we're talking about: it appears as if they might have been born that way; perhaps they won the genetic lottery. Or, realistically, they have a lot of money to invest into their face and body and plenty of high-profile spas and dermatology offices happily opening their doors to them. Celebrities take extra precaution and build their skincare game for weeks ahead of a big award show; sometimes, they get treatments a mere 24 hours before hitting the carpet. It depends on how effective the treatment is in one sitting.
Los Angeles is brewing with celebrations this week, offering the crème de la crème in skincare and body needs ahead of Sunday's big show. Keep reading to learn about the most luxurious treatments celebrities have been getting this week. (Spoiler alert: it includes a lot of microcurrent treatments!)

The Good Place Star Jameela Jamil Opens Up About Her Personal Beauty Journey
Jameela Jamil's role as Tahani Al-Jamil on The Good Place has made her something of a fashion icon, as her character makes pretty much every floral maxi dress look like an extravagant ballgown. But while Tahani is constantly concerned with how others perceive her, Jamil has been vocal about breaking stereotypical beauty norms and embracing what it means to be your authentic self. In an exclusive interview with Allure, the actress opened up about her personal beauty journey and why accepting her background has made her feel more beautiful than ever before.
"I started thinking about beauty in the late '90s when I was about 11, because that's when tabloid culture and magazines really started a full-on assault on women's appearances," Jamil told the publication. Between her preteen years to her mid-20s, she said, the internet played a pivotal role in encouraging her to wear makeup and become more aware of beauty as a concept, which was often associated with being thin and fitting a predetermined standard of the "ideal" woman. "I love different faces. I didn't when I was younger growing up in the U.K.; plus, my Indian culture really celebrates lighter skin. I really wanted to not have an 'Indian' nose."
At the age of 26, Jamil became the first ever female host of the English streaming radio show The Official Chart. She quickly proved that her ratings could be just as high as those of her male colleagues and was rightfully upset when the focus turned just as quickly on her appearance. "No one cared that I'd gotten this huge job and made this leap for a young woman, especially a young woman of color," Jamil said. "It was just about the way that I looked. That was when I realized that people's obsession with my looks was holding me back. I made a decision to no longer engage with my aesthetics as heavily as I had been; I stopped finding it important."
"I think women are multifaceted, interesting, and diverse," Jamil said. "That diversity is really beautiful to me."
As a woman in Hollywood, Jamil is constantly being scrutinized for everything from her height to her weight and the way she speaks. But if her stereotype-smashing tweets are anything to go by, it's going to take a lot more than a few negative comments to stop her from challenging mainstream beauty standards. "We think a big nose on a man is character and wrinkles are distinguished, and we show them in high-definition on magazine covers," Jamil pointed out. "With women, we just Photoshop them all, even if they're in their 50s, to look like preteens. I think it's really sh*tty and dangerous for women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s to open magazines and see women the same age with zero flaws, zero spots, zero lines. No signs of gravity. No signs of weight gain. No one looks like that."
Jamil herself has learned to love all aspects of herself, including her age, her wrinkles, and her chubby cheeks. "Now when I wear makeup, it's just to accentuate certain features," Jamil said, pointing out that choosing to wear or not wear makeup is the same as a man choosing to shave his face or grow a beard. "I think women are multifaceted, interesting, and diverse," she said. "That diversity is really beautiful to me."
Jamil says her confidence didn't truly develop until after she was cast in her most famous role to date. "When I got cast on The Good Place as Tahani, this great beauty that everybody talks about, I found it very uncomfortable," Jamil told Allure. "It actually made me feel a bit bad about myself at first. I thought everyone would think it was really ridiculous that I would be cast to play this beautiful person." But Jamil said she became much more relaxed about her role once Tahani's looks became more of a running joke and her comedic input as an actress became more valuable to the show than her physical appearance. "I've managed to make her so annoying that you don't care about her looks," she added.
Jamil's passion for inspiring others to see their own diverse beauty has taken on a platform all its own in the shape of her I Weigh Instagram account, which serves as a safe space for young people to escape the constant pressure of being measured by how they look. "There are people there from all places in the world," Jamil said. "They're not all posed or Photoshopped. They're just bare and proud of the whole individual that they are."

Kendall Jenner Combats Her Anxiety With This Affordable Tool on Amazon
If you watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians, or are one of Kendall Jenner's whopping 103 million Instagram followers, you know that the model has been vocal about her struggles with anxiety, something so many of us can relate to. In her March 2019 Allure cover interview, she mentioned that of all the calming products she loves, her favorite is this Everlasting Comfort Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier ($57, originally $65). Jenner told the magazine, "I liked it because it looked cool, honestly, and it had a good review on Amazon. I'll throw lavender or eucalyptus in it, then I'll sit and just chill out from the day with my crystals." If that doesn't sound relaxing, we don't know what does.
Humidifiers are a great way to not only purify the air but also inject some aromatherapy into your life. Scents Jenner mentioned, like lavender and eucalyptus, are known to make you feel more grounded and at peace. The Mountain Setting of This Engagement Shoot Is Gorgeous, but the Bride's Red Dress Is the Real Showstopper
Whoever said, "You don't need to break the bank to look like a million bucks," was onto something, especially when it comes to the struggle to find affordable dresses to wear on and leading up to your big day. In this stunning styled engagement shoot, the bride brings the wow factor with an elegant red mermaid-cut gown with lace and beaded detailing - and you won't believe how accessible this scarlet showstopper is.
If you're wondering which high-end designer is behind this look, prepare to pick up your jaw from the floor, because this is actually a prom dress from Amazon that only costs around $100.
"Brides want to dress up, but they're already spending so much on their wedding that they can't justify buying a new gown," said photographer Amy Maddox, who styled the session. "But their engagements are a big deal, and they want to dress up and really make this a special occasion. And they should!"
Maddox loans tulle skirts and beaded gowns to couples she's photographing from a collection her studio keeps on hand, but this Amazon dress is so reasonably priced for the ultraglam vibe it will bring to your engagement pictures, it's worth it.
This engagement shoot took place at the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area in Fredericksburg, TX, and the rustic, rocky backdrop was a perfect contrast to the red gown and resulted in some truly breathtaking photos. See them all now!

As a Muslim Woman in Trump’s America, I’m Afraid - but I Won’t Be Silenced
With March 6 looming, we approach two years since Trump's second attempt to bar Muslims from the United States. Since Trump's ban, the fear among many Muslim-American women who, like me, wear hijab has only escalated. This ban, which bars individuals from eight predominantly Muslim countries from traveling to the US to see their families, seek education, or get medical treatment, is a clear attack on Muslims with no basis besides discrimination. And, unfortunately, it only emboldens that same bigotry at home: in Trump's America, "acting Muslim" is more dangerous than ever.
The United States may proclaim religious freedom for all, but today, people are in fear of their safety just because of the color of their skin, what language they speak, or what religion they choose to follow. The simple fact that Muslim-Americans reported being afraid to leave their homes in a hijab after Trump was elected was an alarming beginning to his presidency. Since then, Trump has reinforced an anti-Muslim climate in rhetoric and policy, with the Muslim ban bolstering his outright hatred alongside a 16 percent increase in anti-Muslim incidents against women wearing hijab.
Trump's vitriol does not deter me from continuing to wear the hijab.
Anti-Muslim rhetoric isn't new, of course, but hearing it directly from our elected president certainly is. I am reminded of an interaction I had with former President Obama when I was invited for dinner during his last term at the White House. Social entrepreneurs along with foreign dignitaries were all invited; only a select few had the honor of attending. As President Obama extended his hand to shake mine, I politely refused by moving my hand to my chest. Jaws dropped in disbelief and shock.
"While I would shake your hand, Mr. President, as a Muslim - similar to the Orthodox Jewish tradition - I cannot have physical contact with men," I gently explained.
"No problem at all," President Obama replied, smiling understandingly.
While honored to be among the select few to have the privilege to spend time with and learn from the boldest change-makers in the country, I could not sacrifice my values and principles as a Muslim woman. If President Obama can cordially greet me without the customary handshake and still have a civil conversation, why can't all Americans? Why has it taken 181 years to allow for head coverings on the House floor? Proper hijab needs to be normalized - not feared or ridiculed. Today, more than ever.
If being visibly Muslim is more dangerous than ever, the wearing of hijab has become an act of resistance in the Trump era.
To be a Muslim entails complete submission to the will of God and thus, I willingly don the "hijab" or veil. Personally, I believe the hijab is a mandate of Islam and therefore compulsory for Muslim women as decreed by Allah (God) in the Quran, and I have always been proud in my submission to wear it. But now, I do so knowing some people are emboldened by today's anti-Muslim climate. With the Muslim Ban enacted, roughly half of Muslim-American women say they've experienced discrimination in the last year. For example, despite having TSA-precheck approval, there is agitation when I travel. Snide remarks and cold glances from officers persist. I have had my scarf felt up and asked what I have underneath, when it was very clear that it was merely the shape of of my hair in a bun. I have to be more cautious than ever to handle "random" checks, and I am fearful of traveling alone - and avoid it if I can.
Trump's vitriol does not deter me from continuing to wear the hijab. In fact, I've become more mindful. For me, the hijab is more than a piece of cloth. It reminds me that my speech, mannerisms, and conduct all come under the guise of modesty as ordained by God. Being able to decide what others see of me physically is spiritually and socially liberating. I would much rather be judged for my intellect instead of my looks.
My attire may not be considered mainstream, but it doesn't make me any less American.
And yes, my attire may not be considered mainstream, but it doesn't make me any less American. And it should never rob me of the dignity and respect every person deserves, let alone cost me my safety. For me, Islam is sufficient as both a guide and a source of freedom. I am often misunderstood and considered foreign simply due to my attire and will get asked where I am "really from" despite my impeccable English. In the age of selfies and excessive exposure, I am not here to conform to society's norms, what society deems "right," but rather what I am supposed to adhere to. This is a freedom I have always understood to be one America aspires to offer all of its people.
Two years ago, Trump began his presidency by ordering his anti-Muslim travel ban, wreaking havoc both abroad and here at home. But let us never forget that the American people responded by flooding airports, standing with their Muslim neighbors in a show of solidarity and resistance. Given our current leader's anti-Muslim stance, two years later, each of us must work especially hard to welcome the hijab and encourage those who choose to uphold it regardless of the Muslim ban. Let us embrace hijabis and encourage them.

The Unexpected Red Flag That Meant My Partner Was Cheating on Me
One of the most painful aspects of being cheated on is looking back and feeling foolish (on top of heartbroken) for not recognizing what now seem like obvious signs. I'd always heard the tell-tale signals that a guy was cheating: a new workout routine, a change in schedule, sudden secrecy around his phone or whereabouts. But for me, the biggest red flag in hindsight was one you don't hear about as much: extreme moodiness.
About six years ago I was totally, dreamily, blindingly in love with Matt. He seemed fully committed to me and never gave me any reason to doubt that. So for the first time in my life, I let myself fully relax into a relationship. There were no sneaky looks at his phone or peevish texts if he was at work happy hour too late. I'd been burned enough in the past to stay vigilant about those classic cheating signs, and I saw none. Besides, I was so sick of having to play spy instead of girlfriend. So when he went to Dallas for a bachelor party, I gave him space to be with his friends and only sent a few "Hope you guys are having fun! Make Tyler hold your hair back if you puke! ;)" texts here and there.

Matt's grouchiness was in fact resentment at me for keeping him from the girl he actually wanted to be with. And when he'd hear from her, he didn't even bother to keep that joy under wraps.
But a few days after he got back, Matt started snapping at me. It began as little things: he used to chuckle at my love of Diptyque candles, now I got a lecture about how reckless I was to spend $40 on a candle and how could we have a future together if this is how I handle money?! Uh, OK. My once-endearing habits suddenly became intolerably irritating. Honey on my avocado? "You're so weird," he sneered at me and my poor, innocent breakfast. "Sometimes it's like you do things just to be strange." I . . . what? It's a nightmare to think that your partner doesn't love you, but somehow worse to think they don't like you. And suddenly, Matt definitely didn't seem to like me. I was like some annoying kid sister he couldn't get rid of. So, out went the candles. Honey stayed in tea and off avocados. Soon I was walking on eggshells, dampening down my personality and needs because I never knew what formerly innocuous habit or trait would set him off.
But these outbursts were juxtaposed with something even stranger: gushy bursts of pure adoration. A giddiness that seemed to come out of nowhere. One minute Matt would be broodily texting like some surly teenager, the next he'd sweep me into his arms and twirl me around, like he'd just gotten the best news of his life. Well, in a way, he did.
He was getting texts from her.
All of this centered around her. Her was a girl he'd met in Dallas, a friend of a friend of someone. But it didn't matter who she was. Her was the girl who was somehow so awesome and incandescent, being with me was pure misery by comparison. Matt's grouchiness was in fact resentment at me for keeping him from the girl he actually wanted to be with. And when he'd hear from her, he didn't even bother to keep that joy under wraps. He'd perversely spewed it out . . . on me. At the time, I was grateful for any positive attention. But in hindsight, it's that sweetness that makes me the angriest, because it kept me hanging on. See, I can't break up with him, I'd think. He really does love me.
Ugh.

But of course, I didn't know any of this at the time. At one point, the flip-flopping became so extreme, I even asked his sister if Matt was dealing with a mental health issue. Silly me, he was just a good old-fashioned cheating man, one who was too cowardly to just break up with me. Instead, he preferred to terrorize me into dumping him, which I finally did.
Two weeks after I walked out, he fessed up about her. His sister guilted him into coming clean, and I was grateful for some kind of explanation, even if it broke my heart and made me seethe: how could I have missed the signs? Now, years later, I realize that the red flags of cheating can go way beyond the typical. Just as every relationship dynamic is different, so is every infidelity. So what are we supposed to do? Spend all our time psychotically analyzing every morsel of our partner's behavior? No. That's not living, nor is it loving. At some point, we have to trust: trust our partner, trust our instinct, and trust that no matter how it plays out, we will be OK on the other side!
Having a Destination Wedding? Here's How to Make Your Marriage Legal in the US
Whether you're saying "I do" in the Italian hills of Tuscany or on a beautifully sandy beach on a Caribbean island, destination weddings have the ability to add a bit more magic to an already special day. However, tying the knot outside of the US adds another layer of complication, and it's important when planning to not forget some of the details. One big one? Making your marriage legal at home before or after getting married abroad.
POPSUGAR spoke to David Reischer, Esq., attorney and CEO of LegalAdvice.com, to get his expert advice on the subject. "It's extremely complicated and not practical to get married in a foreign country and to then try to get the foreign marriage validated in the United States," explained Reischer. Thankfully, there are a few simple alternatives that couples can choose from that can make the whole process much easier. For instance, Reischer suggested couples get legally married in a US court house either before or after their destination wedding. "A couple can make their destination wedding legal at home by getting married again in the United States upon return from abroad," he continued. "The couple can also get married in the United States before the destination wedding."
However, Reischer acknowledged that the obvious disadvantage of a couple legally tying the knot before their destination wedding may be that they'll feel like they're jeopardizing the romantic aspect of their big ceremony. If you're worried about this, he advised getting legally married when you return from your destination wedding.
"Many couples decide to go to the county clerk and remarry once returning to the United States from their destination wedding," he said. "All a couple has to do is get a marriage license from the county clerk, then go to city hall or hire a legal official who is allowed to perform legal ceremonies in the city where the couple reside." By deciding on legalizing their marriage this way, couples will not have to translate foreign paperwork and there will be no need for blood tests in a foreign country. "It's extremely less complicated and cheaper to get married for a second time upon returning from a destination wedding and this is what most people do," Reischer said.
These 7 Condoms Will All Give Max Pleasure, but We've Still Ranked Them From Most to Least
Turns out, people aren't using condoms nearly as much as they should. According to a recent survey among 1,000 participants at Adam & Eve, 63 percent claimed to not regularly use condoms. What's more, only 34 percent of women and 23 percent men requested them. Yikes. This is a problem, as STIs are on the rise, and condoms help protect you from transmission. Basically, unless you're in a monogamous relationship and have both been tested or you've had the talk with a partner, you really should be using condoms every time you have sex. Just because sex is safe doesn't make it any less enjoyable! In fact, it's even more enjoyable, simply because you can end that frisky session knowing your health hasn't been compromised.
Yet, condoms get a bad reputation for being uncomfortable and blocking many of those feel-good sensations that make sex so incredible. Plus, it's not just men who complain about them but women, too, as shown in the survey in particular. Still, they're needed, and with the right education, you can find a condom that fits well and doesn't decrease those sensations one bit. Some condoms even have nifty features, like ribbed texture, flavors, and more, all of which can enhance your sexual experience. "Condoms come in different thickness, which can impact the degree of sensation a male feels, and condoms can be smooth or textured, creating different experiences for the partners," Dr. Felice Gersh, MD, an OB-GYN and author of SOS: A Gynecologist's Lifeline To Naturally Restore Your Rhythms, Hormones, and Happiness, told POPSUGAR. "Trying out different textures can be rewarding."
Here are the best condoms to use for maximum pleasure, recommended by Gersh, who added: "Having a condom that fits well is a number-one priority. If not just the right snugness, it could slip off, create too much constriction, or not provide proper contact."
The Hadid Sisters Closed the Show at Fendi, Setting the Scene For a Fitting Tribute to Karl Lagerfeld
After the sad news of Karl Lagerfeld's passing earlier this week, the Fendi show was always going to be a hugely poignant part of Milan Fashion Week. It represented the last time we will see Karl's work as part of a Fendi runway show, though his legacy and hallmarks will no doubt continue on for years to come as Silvia Venturini Fendi continues to take the label forward. "Love KL" was written above the runway, while a graphic "F" in that same script curved its way onto the end of the runway, and indeed onto items of clothing that were shown as part of the collection.
The show itself was full of twists on classics: a succession of grown-up neutrals, tied with oversize bows and dotted with dashes of color: a green pleated skirt here, a pink boot there. Models carried matching buckled shoulder bags and top handle styles in patent and leather. The runway was closed by Bella and Gigi Hadid, both wearing nipped-waist midi dresses in sheer monogrammed fabrics - but their finale was by no means the end of the show.
As they left the stage and the lights went down, a video appeared, showing Karl Lagerfeld sketching the outfit he wore for his first day at Fendi, 54 years ago. "In the '60s we didn't hold back," he explained, before illustrating a young Karl wearing a Cerruti hat, an English hunting jacket, culottes, and his ever-present dark shades. What better way to pay homage to the Kaiser, than with a clip of him doing exactly what he loved? See the full collection ahead, as well as that moving video tribute.
Build Muscle With This Upper-Body Workout That Doesn't Contain a Single Push-Up
There's always one exercise, (or three or four) that no matter how strong we get, is always challenging. Then there are the exercises we just can't stand. If push-ups are your kryptonite, but you still want strong arms, I created this upper-body circuit for you. You'll work your biceps, triceps, chest, and back without ever doing a single push-up.
And, before you get on me about a push-up free workout, let the record show that I have nothing against push-ups, and I think they're a great exercise. This workout was designed for those who are beginners and cannot do push-ups just yet, those who have wrist injuries, and those who want to expand their upper-body exercise repertoire. Now that we've cleared that up, it's time to get started.
The Workout
Before jumping into the circuit, warm up with exercises like jumping jacks and plank walkouts. As a refresher, a circuit means that you'll complete the designated reps of each of the exercises listed, and take little to no rest as you transition to the next exercise. Once you've done all the exercises to complete the circuit, take 90 seconds to two minutes of rest before starting your next round. Repeat this circuit for a total of four rounds.
- Crab walks: 10 reps
- Dumbbell bench press: 12 reps
- Bent-over row: 12 reps
- Banded assisted pull-ups: five reps for beginners, 10 reps (can be done without the band) for those who are more advanced
- Bicep curl and overhead press: 12 reps
Don't forget to adequately cool down afterward.

I'm Off the Deep End Watching Nick Jonas's Cover of "Shallow"
The classic dad joke may go, "Who sings that song? . . . Let's keep it that way," but Nick Jonas absolutely did Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's A Star Is Born anthem justice when he sang it on Instagram ahead of the Oscars. The 26-year-old newlywed pumped his fans up for Sunday night's award show by singing "Shallow," which is nominated for best original song. "In honor of Oscar weekend . . . such a beautiful song 🎶 🎥 @priyankachopra," he captioned the clip.
After Kelly Clarkson covered the song beautifully earlier this week, it's clear that it takes serious talent to hit those notes, and Jonas did it with ease. Check out the video above, and get excited because Cooper and Gaga will perform the song during the award show, where A Star Is Born is nominated for eight Oscars.
