All You Need Is 2 Dumbbells and This 30-Minute Workout to Build Muscle and Get Lean at Home
There isn't one magical workout that will help you lose weight, since your nutrition plays such an important role. But if you work out a few days a week, in addition to dialing in your diet, you'll start seeing results. The point of this workout is to get you moving for 30 minutes using a combo of cardio blasts and strength training. And because it uses simple movements using just your own bodyweight and a pair of dumbbells, you can do it at home, at the gym, or anywhere.
Since this is a CrossFit-inspired workout, there are beloved burpees involved - they may not be your favorite, but they're one of the most effective exercises you can do to work the entire body and get your heart rate up. CrossFit coach and competitor Dani Horan of Champlain Valley CrossFit said to try to keep moving through the burpees, even if you have to step one foot at a time - just don't lie on the floor and do nothing! If burpees are too challenging, you can do squat thrusts instead.

Everything about losing weight can feel tough, from finding the motivation to exercise on days that you just want to watch Netflix, to fighting the temptation to indulge in the doughnuts your coworker brought in. It seems unfair, really, that your budget can add another layer of stress to the situation - but I learned the hard way that healthy food often comes with a higher price tag.
I'll admit that I struggled when I first decided to clean up my eating habits and get in better shape. But eventually, I came to realize that you don't have to drain your bank account to eat delicious, nutritious food. Here are the tricks I learned through trial and error that can help you eat healthy and lose weight, without destroying your budget.
Personal Trainers Say This Is the Key to Building Muscle and Getting Stronger
We can't tout the benefits of strength training enough: it can help you burn calories, build lean muscle, get stronger, boost metabolism, lose weight, and even sleep better. And while it's important to find the right weight to challenge yourself, you can't stick to the same weights and rep sets forever if you want to see progress. This is where progressive overload comes into play.
What Is Progressive Overload?
"Progressive overload is a gradual increase in the amount one lifts during resistance training," explained ACSM-certified personal trainer Jim White, RDN, owner of Jim White Fitness and Nutrition Studios. Over time, your body adapts to handling a certain amount of resistance, so increasing the load on the body - through an increase in weight, reps, or sets - will force the body to adapt and result in strength and muscle improvements.
"When it comes to lifting weights, the reason people don't make progress is because they don't challenge themselves," Eric Bowling, an NASM-certified personal trainer at Ultimate Performance, told POPSUGAR. People get complacent and are scared to lift heavier because they don't want to injure themselves or they give up after it burns too much. "If you want to make progress, it's going to require pushing your limits and enduring a degree of pain," he said.
How to Incorporate Progressive Overload Into Your Training
If you're not even sure where to begin with lifting weights, use this guide to decide how heavy your weights need to be to start. Jim said to start out with a lighter yet challenging weight that you can lift for three sets of 10 to 12 reps. The next time you work out (or in a couple of sessions), add five pounds to the weight so you can only do three sets of eight reps. Once you progress with this weight to 10 to 12 reps, it's time to go even heavier. He added that it's important not to go too heavy so as not to compromise form or result in injury.
And while increasing weight is one way to implement progressive overload, Eric said there are other variables you can change: reps, sets, weight, tempo (the speed during the movement), total time under tension, range of motion, and rest time. "This constant manipulation to key variables is the advantage weight training has over traditional cardio," he said, adding that this is why weight training is key for fat loss. If you feel like you hit a plateau, try the same workout but change one of the variables: decrease rest, add a set, or do more reps. Once you feel like you could do an exercise for unlimited reps or do 10 sets without breaking a sweat, then it's time to challenge yourself.
If you are looking for a plan to help guide you, here's a four-week training schedule that incorporates progressive overload. Get at it!
FYI: These Buzzy Clean Beauty Products Are at Nordstrom, but Only For a Limited Time!
Clean beauty is one of our favorite things to talk about and discover. We're so aware of what we consume, and it only makes sense for that consciousness to extend into our beauty products. And we're in luck, because from now until April 14, there's a treasure trove of clean beauty products available at Nordstrom, so we can add buzzy brands like Vintner's Daughter, Nécessaire, and Goop into our already-full shopping carts. Get ready to clean up your beauty routine.
This Is How to Make the Switch to Clean Beauty Products, According to Olivia Wilde
If you still associate clean beauty with crunchy, hippie products, actress and activist Olivia Wilde totally gets where you're coming from.
"I grew up with a mother who had everything organic everywhere in her house all the time," said Wilde. "Everything from the organic peanut butter that was completely separated with the hard rock peanuts and oil, to shampoo and soap that had giant pieces of lavender and chunks of flowers."
And while she could've done a 180 and rejected the natural movement entirely, Wilde is now the "chief activist" of True Botanicals, a clean beauty brand. When I met the star, she floated into the room in a white prairie skirt and chunky sweater that looked like it had been handmade on an alpaca farm in the Andes. In other words: She looked every bit the part of a clean beauty ambassador. It wasn't until she started talking that the activist title made sense.
"It's about empowering people and empowering individuals, and I see it as a form of social justice to give people information to protect themselves," said Wilde. "It's important to tell people the government is not protecting you from the chemicals in these products - certainly in your cleaning products, but also in your beauty products - and it's a huge problem."
"It's about empowering people and empowering individuals, and I see it as a form of social justice to give people information to protect themselves."
For Wilde, choosing clean beauty and educating people is woven into her political message. She understands the complexities of the issue: that clean beauty products are often harder to find and more expensive than their traditional, drugstore-ready counterparts. "It's a class issue, entirely," she acknowledged. "The information is there, and I wouldn't suggest people aren't curious on their own, but I certainly spent many years as a consumer not knowing I had to protect myself."
We also talked about the fact that women buy and use so many more products than men, and whether that's one reason government regulations on personal care products are so limited. "It's like, at what point do we make this deal that beauty is worth potentially hurting ourselves? At what point do we make that sort of contract with ourselves? I think a lot about this," she said.
I got up the nerve to admit that I'm something of a clean beauty skeptic, and asked for her best advice for anyone who's thinking about adjusting their routine but doesn't know where to begin.
"Telling people what they've been doing for their entire adult lives is wrong is not a good way to introduce them to a new routine," she says. "Telling them, 'let me adjust this for you' [is a better approach]. What if you just remove your moisturizer and replace it with this oil? What if you just change your face wash? What if you change the way you're washing your hair?" Essentially, she says, it's all about baby steps: change one thing, and see if you notice a difference. Chances are you'll like it better than whatever you were using before.
In the case of True Botanicals, the thing to try right now is the Pure Radiance Body Oil ($48) - a delicious blend of green tea seed, hemp seed, and sandalwood oils that smells like heaven and sinks in instantly. I've been slathering it on after every shower, and I can honestly say I don't miss my old petrolatum-laden body lotion for a second. Using it doesn't exactly seem like a political act, but it's also not a hippie ritual. It's self-care with a little more awareness, and that's something I certainly feel good about - even as a skeptic.
Why Avoiding Those Root Touch-Ups Is Actually Costing You Way More Money
There are some things people tell you in life that you probably don't listen to and others you, well, should.
"Put on a coat," says your mom. "Never sleep in your makeup," demands your dermatologist (who is absolutely right, of course!). "If you dye your hair, make sure to get your roots touched up every four to six weeks," pleads your colorist. It's likely you rarely play by the book with all of them, particularly the latter. I'm here to tell you exactly why you should listen to your colorist and get your roots touched up consistently, without fail, if you want to save money, time, and hassle.
To give you a little context, I joined the root touch-up club after going copper five weeks ago and Jack Howard from Paul Edmonds Salon in London schooled me on why it's so important to play by the rules when it comes to root touch-ups.
Howard encourages clients to book a follow-up appointment every four to six weeks. He explained it's very important to stick to this timeline, as the keratin in the hair is softer during this period, and when the regrowth application is applied, the color takes evenly with the rest of the hair. If you wait any longer than six weeks (for example, eight to 12 weeks), the keratin won't be as soft, and a colorist has to commit to a "long regrowth application plus adding the color development." He said, "This is an unnecessary, lengthy application and will cost a lot more money in the long run. If left longer than six weeks, the client will be left with 'hot roots,' which is when the root color is brighter than the rest of the hair."
Sounds like a waste of time and money, right? That's because it is. So consider this a warning to your wallet and your hair. Why spend money and effort on new color if you aren't going to look after it? Keep reading if you want to see exactly how Howard touches up my copper hair.
Beautyblender’s New Primer Cut 3 - Yes, 3 - Steps Out of My Makeup Routine
Beautyblender Selfie Shield Primer ($32) is the hardest-working primer you'll ever use. Let me explain.
After twisting off the top of the travel-friendly bottle, I gave it a small squeeze that dispensed a dime-size amount of the oil onto my palm. I then took two fingers of my free hand to pick the liquid up and sweep it across my face. It slicked easily across my skin, and quickly absorbed to leave my skin looking dewy (and not at all greasy or tacky). After a few seconds of letting it melt into my cheeks, I began applying my makeup.
Though I personally don't believe my routine is that extensive, it does pretty much hit every category (base, eyes, and lips) and texture (cream, powder, and liquid). When it came to actually swiping everything on, the results were unexpected. Though my liquid base makeup products slid onto my face more easily, it never pilled or felt too runny. My powder products - which included my contour, blush, and highlight - all swept on with less fallout and more opacity. With this primer, I actually had a natural finish and glow, and I found that I was using less of basically everything.
What's more impressive to me than its efficacy as a primer is its ability to moisturize and protect skin. The oil leaves skin feeling silky, and offers an SPF of 38 (and according to Consumer Reports, SPF 30 already blocks 97 percent of the sun's UVB rays). Beautyblender Selfie Shield Primer is the easiest way to work SPF into your makeup routine, and I rejoiced in finding a moisturizing SPF that didn't emulsify my makeup.
It's basically a three-in-one product: hydration, skin protection, and damn good makeup application. What else could you want?

A Dietitian Said Not to Skip Out on These 3 Foods If You're Trying to Build Muscle
Building muscle may sound easy - you just go to the gym and lift heavy weights, right? Unfortunately, it's not that simple. If your goal is to burn fat and build muscle, you're going to have to train hard, be consistent, recover well (sleep is crucial), and make sure that you're providing your body with adequate fuel in order to perform well and repair your muscles.
To find out exactly what you should be eating to build muscle, POPSUGAR spoke to Brittany Linn, RD, CDN, a clinical nutrition coordinator at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
Nutrition Timing Before a Workout Is Key
Brittany said to pay attention to the timing of your meals and snacks so you can fuel your workouts and recovery the right way. If you've been wondering how soon you should eat before a workout, Brittany said, "Typically, I recommend eating one to three hours before exercising to ensure that you're not still digesting when you hit the gym floor and you will have fuel in your tank for a powerful workout."
The Best Foods to Eat Before a Workout
If you aren't sure if a granola bar or veggies will mess up your stomach before a workout, Brittany gave us some suggestions that will provide you with energy to complete your workout. "Beneficial pre-workout snacks are higher-carb, lower-protein foods for energy and endurance," she said. Some examples of this are fruit with yogurt and a piece of toast with peanut butter and banana.
What to Eat After a Workout
Fueling up before a workout is important so you don't feel lethargic, and it's also important to replenish your body with nutrients once you've finished training. "After a workout, especially an intense workout, try to eat within 30 minutes," she said. Brittany recommends eating something that's high protein with carbs in order to rebuild and replenish your muscles. A few ideas are chocolate milk or a protein shake.
What Your Macros Should Be
Some people find tracking their macronutrient profile (the amount of calories you get from carbohydrates, fat, and protein) and counting calories to be helpful. If keeping track of these numbers isn't your thing, Brittany said she always tells her clients that "all foods fit." What she means by this is "all macronutrients are needed for your body to function at its best, but also 'fun foods' are a part of a balanced diet too." If you're trying to maintain and increase your muscle mass, Brittany said not to leave any food group out, as they all work together to help your body function optimally - yes, that means eat the carbs!
According to Brittany, you should eat 1.0 to 1.7 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight in order to supply your muscles with amino acids, which build up your muscle tissue. Foods like chicken, fish, eggs, soy, beans, and nuts are all great sources of protein, she said. You should also consume carbs "because they help to fuel your workouts," and they're the body's first source of energy, she explained.
Fats are often associated with being bad, but Brittany explained that consuming healthy fats helps preserve and repair your muscle. They also transport nutrients to your cells and help the amino acids that come from protein go to the muscle tissue. Long story short: it's all about balance.
Don't Forget to Hydrate
Along with eating carbohydrates and protein, Brittany also recommends "drinking two to three cups of water one to two hours before exercising, and two to three cups right after exercising," as a general rule of thumb. This may vary based on the style of training you're doing, your age, height, and weight.
At the end of the day, Brittany said that the timing of meals and snacks is ultimately up to you and will vary based on your metabolism, digestion, and what makes you feel your best.

Say Goodbye to Restless Nights With This $35 Weighted Sleep Mask on Amazon
By now, you've probably heard all the rave about weighted blankets that promise to keep you warm and cozy and help you sleep better. The benefits don't stop there. Because weight is being distributed on and around you, the blanket provides a hugging effect as it grounds you (read more about that here).
Not only will the blanket make you feel like you're getting the best cuddles ever, that hugging feeling also affects your hormones and releases oxytocin, aka the love hormone, that's been associated with everything from female reproduction to social bonding and stress reduction. And it keeps getting better. The hormone serotonin, known to improve mood and cognition, is also released.
If you aren't ready to invest in a weighted blanket, you don't have the space, or you want to take baby steps, we've got a solution: the Gravity Weighted Sleep Mask ($35). It'll provide all the benefits of the weighted blanket at a fraction of the cost. "Using the same deep touch pressure stimulation as the Gravity Blanket, the Weighted Sleep Mask primes your body for sleep by blocking light and distributing light touch across key relaxation pressure points," according to the Gravity website.
The mask distributes 0.75 to one pound of weight and is made with "micro-plush fiber and imitation cashmere." It also has an adjustable Velcro strap, so you don't have to worry about it being too small or too large for your head.
Get ready to catch some zzz's with the Gravity Weighted Sleep Mask.
Here's How I'm Trying to Save My Daughter From the Body-Image Issues That Scarred Me
When your 10-year-old overweight friend is referred to as "the whale" by your parents, you get the message loud and clear that fat equals bad. My mom and dad were always making comments about how so-and-so "really ballooned up" or how they couldn't believe how so-and-so "got so fat." I felt a sense of sadness every time I heard them say things like that, because it felt like a direct message to me: whatever you do, do not get fat.
My History With Diet and Body Image
I obviously can't blame my parents - fat phobia found its way into my family because it was such a strong message everywhere. As a result, I have been on and off diets and trying to lose weight ever since I was 12 years old. Twelve years old. The age when you should be playing with makeup, going to the movies with your friends, and having crushes. And there I was, writing in my journal that I was 110 pounds and needed to lose 10. That is f*cked up. I was in no way overweight, yet losing weight became my goal.
I remember trying to eat very little during the day, yet restricting my food only led to overeating, and I actually ended up gaining weight in high school. I was still a healthy size, but compared to my thinner friends and the girls in Seventeen magazine, I was thicker, and I felt very self-conscious about it. One memory forever stands out in my mind that made me realize my parents noticed my pudgier size, too. When I was looking through my mom's old photo album, I saw her prom picture, and said if she still had that dress, I'd totally wear it (retro pink and lime green striped!). My dad said, "You'd never fit into that."
When I got to college, I found freedom in the all-you-can-eat dining halls, the candy at every store, the 2 a.m. pizza deliveries, and the fact that I could eat an entire pint of Ben & Jerry's and there was no one to tell me not to. This was the age before iPhones (wow, am I dating myself!), so there were no selfies or photos posted on social media to make me realize that I had gained 40 pounds.
By age 22, when I didn't fit into the bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding, my dad said, "Just lose weight." I will never shake that mortifying and overwhelming feeling of shame. I went full-force into my weight-loss journey, restricting certain foods, overexercising, and just saying terrible things to myself. I did lose the weight, but it was at the expense of my happiness. I spent the next 13 years still immersing myself in disordered eating, using exercise as punishment, and feeling like maintaining a smaller body was my ultimate purpose in life.
How It Affected Becoming a Mother to a Daughter
I've slowly been trying to heal myself from the damage that dieting and hating my body has caused me. Now at age 42, I have an 8-year-old daughter. When Sadie was born, I knew that if there was one thing I wanted to accomplish as her mother, it was to save her from the shame, sadness, and pain body-image issues have scarred me with. I wanted to do everything in my power to encourage her to have a positive relationship with her body, to love herself, and to find pleasure in exercise because it makes her feel strong and beautiful. I wanted to help her love food for the simple joy it brings, how it joins our family together, and how it nourishes and energizes her for all the amazing adventures, goals, and plans she has.
What I Do
OK, so I know this is a huge undertaking. I mean, how can one person combat the entire world's sh*tty message that looking "perfect" is your life's aspiration? I know it's close to impossible to shield her from this entirely, but dammit, I'm going to do everything I can to try! Here's what I've been doing so far:
- I lead by example: I now recognize that loving my body, nourishing myself with food and exercise, and doing so in a self-care sort of way is essential. I do my best to model a healthy relationship with food, exercise, and my body.
- I do my best not to comment on her appearance and instead on her abilities and amazing qualities: I say things like, "Wow, Sadie, you did the monkey bars so fast. You're so strong!" If my parents make comments to Sadie about her appearance like, "Oh your hair looks so pretty today," I quickly share something awesome Sadie did like, "She read the first Harry Potter book in two days!" or "Sadie is so kind; she wanted to stop at the animal shelter and donate some dog treats."
- I say positive comments about my abilities and avoid negative self-talk: I say things like, "I rowed 2,000 meters 10 seconds faster this morning than the last time I did it!" I also make a point not to talk badly about myself regarding my appearance. If my kids comment about my squishy belly when we're at the pool, I just say happily, "That's where I first heard your heartbeat, and my skin had to stretch so you could grow!"
- I share my joy of food: I take Sadie food shopping and show her how we pick out healthy things so that we feel strong and grow taller. But we also go to the bakery and eat scones and cinnamon buns! We bake and cook together, and it's a great way for me to show her how healthy food should taste good, to encourage her to be adventurous trying new foods, and to create happy memories around eating.
- I share knowledge about healthy eating: I brought Sadie to a registered dietitian just for a general meeting to talk about healthy food choices and how to measure serving sizes and to let her know that other adults send the same positive message about food as a source of nourishment and joy.
- I model and talk about intuitive eating: I feel like Sadie is already a pro at this. She eats when she's hungry, eats the foods she loves, and stops when she's full. I support this by not enforcing the clean plate club, by encouraging healthy choices, and by not making her feel ashamed for wanting to eat an entire piece of carrot cake without sharing.
- I bring her to my CrossFit and yoga classes: I want to show Sadie that exercise is a huge part of my life, because getting stronger and moving my body makes me feel energized and proud. And the other women at my gym and studio are such awesome role models. She can see that there are all different body types, that having muscles is a good thing, and that challenging yourself and meeting fitness goals is one way to boost your confidence.
- We're active together: We go swimming, take hikes, ride bikes, ski, snowshoe, go to the indoor trampoline park, and take our dogs for long walks. I want daily exercise to just become a habit out of the sheer fact that it feels good to move your body every day and to be outside in nature.
- I tell her I love her: Every night at bedtime, we read books together, then turn off the lights and snuggle and talk. We share about our day - anything that was exciting or upsetting - and it's usually a time when Sadie feels comfortable opening up to me. I want to continue to build her trust and the closest relationship I can so that she can always come to me to talk about anything. And maybe her knowing I love her for who she is, no matter what, will help her feel like she can come to me if any questions or issues with body image or diet come up, so I can help her navigate through them.
What I Won't Allow
With all the work I'm doing to build Sadie's confidence and to teach her self-love, I am begging you not to undo all my hard work. I will not allow you to talk badly about yourself. I don't want you saying how fat you feel, squeezing your thighs with a disapproving look, or saying in front of my daughter that you wish you were thinner. I don't want her to overhear you talking about your diet, how you're cutting carbs, how you're not allowed to eat chocolate, or how you were "bad" because you ate cake at a party. Please don't talk about how much weight you need to lose, how you wish you had your 20-year-old body back, or how you wish your old jeans still fit. I will politely shut down that negative self-talk!
I know this is a tough request, because growing up in diet culture and the impossible body standards women are subjected to, this kind of dialogue has become normal. But let's change that. Start talking to yourself the way you would talk to my daughter, or your daughter, or your best friend. Start saying things that make you feel good about yourself and point out the things you're proud of - start the revolution! Because I can't do this alone. If I'm going to help Sadie grow up in a world where she loves her body, I need you to start loving your body first.
This Strength Routine Sculpts Every Muscle in Your Core, So You Can Finally Have THOSE Abs
Even once you've burned off any fat in your midsection, you may not have the definition you've always craved. It's an unavoidable truth that, while getting your heart rate up is essential to losing fat, it doesn't necessarily equate a six-pack. If you want to tone your tummy, you'll need to do strength exercises that target every group of muscles in the abdomen, cinching your waist better than cardio or crunches ever could. To start, try this five-move workout from Kendall Wood, MS, CSCS, coauthor of Core Fitness Solution.

I Was a Gymnast For Over a Decade - Here's How Striving For a Perfect 10 Taught Me to Embrace Imperfection
Gymnastics is all about striving for perfection. I loved and still love it, but it's kind of like riding a merry-go-round in the hopes that you'll actually get somewhere: the task at hand is near impossible because the sport is a) subjective and b) set on tearing you down when you perform. With judges searching for the smallest of deductions - a flexed foot, the slightest wobble, a tiny toe shuffle on a landing you swear you stuck - it's hard to look at yourself as anything but imperfect. It took me some time after leaving gymnastics behind my freshman year of college, but eventually, with some retrospection, I realized just how much the sport taught me about seeking the unattainable.
With the exception of the elite level where scoring surpassed the perfect 10 in 2006 and different leagues that have varying rules (I competed in the Jersey Optional Gymnastics Association, or JOGA, for many years, where your numbers tended to be lower because you scored up instead of deducting down), a 10.00 is most gymnasts' idealized number. And sure, you can get a perfect 10 - Katelyn Ohashi has received a handful of them this NCAA season - but another judge out there could deem that your perfect 10 was actually a few tenths lower. Plus, there's this constant pressure to do better even if your scores indicate you've reached your peak; it's a lot to handle.
"I guarantee you, if you talk to Katelyn Ohashi, she'll say, 'I know what I'm going to be doing when I go back to practice on Monday to make this even better,'" Jennifer Roitman-Seamans, MA, a coach in the field of sports psychology with over 20 years of experience supporting gymnasts and other athletes through mental blocks and performance anxiety, told POPSUGAR. "There's always something to strive for. And while the judges might say you're perfect, you might ask yourself, 'OK, well, if I'm up here and on top, what do I need to do to keep myself up here?'"
I get that. Throughout a decade of competitive gymnastics, I would always be the last person to finish my conditioning at the end of practice because I needed to do every single leg lift, hollow hold, and pull-up exactly right or I couldn't move on. If I fell on beam at a competition (ask any gymnast and she'll tell you it's almost always the easiest skills, like the dreaded full turn, you'll mess up), my whole world would seem to come crashing down. It was hard for me to stop beating myself up enough to focus on the little successes I might have accomplished - the successes I couldn't see because failure was too crippling. Then, it translated to other parts of my life. I held myself to almost impossible standards in school (an A- was an F) and at home (a fib to my parents meant I'd punish myself for weeks with guilt). It's safe to say that, while the gifts gymnastics gave me - structure, persistence, confidence - have stuck with me to this day, the self-deprecating perfectionist I'd been sculpted into was someone I needed to shed for the better.
Jennifer tells her clients to try to focus on success outside of numbers. "They have to get a certain score to qualify for States or for Regionals or for whatever it is, so I'm not telling them to not think about scores," she said. "But if they put forth their best effort and they have a great attitude regardless of what happens, then their performance is going to get better. And a better performance means a better score." Jennifer wants gymnasts to remind themselves that "any progress is good progress." Life, she stated, is about challenges, but at the same time, setting goals that you know you can achieve is satisfying. "So when somebody is feeling like they're a failure, I'll question them and say, 'Well if you didn't fail, what did you learn? If you're not failing something, how are you going to make something better?'" she explained, adding that she wants gymnasts to look at these failures as perfect because they're able to grow from their mistakes.
Jennifer continued, "Even in failure, you can pull from that what we call 'perfect' because it's perfect for the situation. Even though it's not great, we can turn it into something good because it's a lesson we're taught for the next turn, a lesson we're taught for the next day." And that's what I learned looking back: that practice makes progress, not "perfect," and that's OK. Chasing a 10.00 in gymnastics (and in life) may result in positive self-discipline, but it's more about how you strive for your successes without becoming caught up in the demand of that goal. Even still, like Jennifer said best, there's perfection in everything you do; you just need to get out of your own way to find it.

Holy Crap - There’s a Pig Called “Pigasso” Who Paints With His Mouth
There's a new painter making waves in the art community, and she most certainly did not go to art school. "Pigcasso," a 3-year-old pig rescued a few years ago from an industrialized hog farming facility, has not only survived, she has thrived, painting gorgeous works of abstract art that have garnered a global following. The 1,000-pound pig is a master of the paintbrush, and, according to CBS, has sold paintings for thousands of dollars.
Residing at Farm Sanctuary SA near Cape Town, South Africa, the pig was drawn to brushes and paint, and clearly has a talent for it. "For some reason, she took a knack to the paintbrushes and it wasn't long before she was dancing the brush across the canvas and selling artworks all over the world," Joanne Lefson, the sanctuary's founder, told CBS News.
Check out some of Pigcasso's work - watching her paint is incredibly soothing.
This little piggy went to the market, this little piggy went to the store, and this little piggy clearly went to BLICK Art Materials.
Let's Pray Our Pets Don't Act Like Joffrey Once They Sit on This Iron Throne Bed
Let's be real: every household has a ruler. It's the one who barks and immediately gets fed. The one who sits down and gets their belly rubbed without having to say a peep. The one who gets treated with an unfathomable amount of respect, no matter how much mud they track into the house (partners would be scorned). Our pets are simply the leaders of our families, which is why it only makes sense for them to sit on a throne - an Iron Throne, that is.
In honor of the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, which premieres in April, one Etsy shop owner is bringing the wars of Westeros to our living rooms with an Iron Throne Pet Bed. Whether you have one pup who's going to claim the Throne and go full Joffrey or a few kittens who can nestle in there together, it's guaranteed to add some coziness to your home. Don't laugh, but you probably will end up bending the knee to your fluffy ruler. Shop the Iron Throne Pet Bed ahead, and imagine your pet saying, "Because that's what I do. I sh*t and I know things."
