Ashley Graham Put on a "Freezing Cold" Chainmail Dress and Temperatures Soared to 95 Degrees

Ashley Graham, I love you, for pulling off this sexy, slitted chainmail dress no sweat and making me believe I may actually be able to wear one, too. Ashley's flashy Fannie Schiavoni number is the type of look I always want to wear to parties, but usually shy away from. Make no mistake, if you're wearing this, you're the center of attention.

Ashley worked with stylist Jordan Foster on the outfit, which she wore for the finale of American Beauty Star with a pair of metallic Alevì Milano sandals ($985) and some silver jewelry. "Only @ashleygraham could look this 🔥 when wearing freezing cold chainmail!!" Jordan wrote.

Wait . . . it was freezing cold? Not a chance. Not when the asymmetrical wrap skirt that, while almost splitting in two, seemed to drip off of Ashley's curves like that. Now this is a sultry look I've decided it's worth shopping for, if you want to join me in mustering up the confidence.

I Swapped My Down Duvet For the Buffy Comforter, and My Bed Just Became My New Best Friend

In my seemingly never-ending quest to create a sleep oasis in my bedroom - from blackout curtains to sleep-inducing potions, linen sheets, and a Casper mattress - I decided to try out the much-hyped Buffy comforter, and all I can say is: bye, forever, down duvet.

The eco-friendly, sustainably made Buffy comforter has a lot going for it on paper. The moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating fabric is made from eucalyptus fibers, which according to the brand uses 10 times less water, and the filling is made from recycled plastic bottles, which have been diverted from landfills. It's also free of harmful chemicals; hypoallergenic; and hyper-resistant to microbes, mites, and allergens.

This all sounds great, but would it live up to the "silky-soft" hype? Would I really feel like I'm sleeping under a cloud? At the same time that I was debating swapping my feather-down duvet, Buffy reached out to see if we'd like to test out the comforter for review purposes. Ahead, here are my honest thoughts a few weeks in on whether it's as wonderful as it sounds.

Not Sure How to Clean an Area Rug? Keep 'em Looking Brand New With These 4 Steps

Area rugs can add a lot of style and function to almost any room. Put one in your kitchen to keep your feet comfortable while you're cooking or doing the dishes; make one the focal point of your living room while amping up the coziness; or put one next to your bed so you feel the plush, soft comfort when you swing your feet onto the floor every morning. And, of course, they can help you distract from that ugly flooring in your rental. But while area rugs are useful and beautiful, they're not immune to mess, and can attract all manner of grime, crumbs, spills, stains, and dust. The good news is, because they're so portable, they're pretty easy to clean with the right know-how. Here's what you need to do.

1. Vacuum Both Sides

With carpet, you can only vacuum one side, potentially pushing dust and crumbs further into the fibers rather than sucking them up. An area rug, on the other hand, can be vacuumed more thoroughly on both sides. Vacuum the fiber side first, then flip it over and vacuum the back. If it's still dusty and you have some outdoor space, you can hang it over a railing and gently knock the remaining dust out with a broom handle.

2. Wash the Rug With Carpet Shampoo

To give your rug a good, deep clean, wash it with a carpet shampoo. First, test out the shampoo on a discreet area of the rug to check that it's safe for the color and fibers of your rug. You should let the shampoo sit for a couple of hours to be sure. When you know the shampoo is safe, dampen your rug with clean water. Then, with a sturdy brush, work the shampoo into the carpet, paying special attention to stained areas. (Note: This method is best for low-pile rugs, and DIY washing your shag rug this way isn't a good idea. Leave shag rugs or other expensive rugs to a professional to prevent damage!)

3. Rinse the Rug

Once you've worked out all of the stains and dirt from your rug with the brush and shampoo, read the shampoo instructions and, if they say so, leave the shampoo to sit for a while. After this period of time, rinse your rug thoroughly. Carpet shampoo, much like hair shampoo, can leave a residue that will leave your rugs sticky, dull, and looking dirty.

4. Let the Rug Dry

Rugs can take a long time to dry depending on their thickness and material that they're made of, so we wouldn't recommend washing your rugs right before having dozens of people over for a dinner party. To dry your rug, first wring out as much excess water as you can. Then, hang it to dry in an area where it will be protected and undisturbed, like a garage or laundry room. It may take a day or longer to dry, but it's important to be patient and let it dry completely before putting it back in place. Finally, vacuum your rug one more time to bring the tufts and fibers back to life.

Let's Pray Our Pets Don't Act Like Joffrey Once They Sit on This Iron Throne Bed

Let's be real: every household has a ruler. It's the one who barks and immediately gets fed. The one who sits down and gets their belly rubbed without having to say a peep. The one who gets treated with an unfathomable amount of respect, no matter how much mud they track into the house (partners would be scorned). Our pets are simply the leaders of our families, which is why it only makes sense for them to sit on a throne - an Iron Throne, that is.

In honor of the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, which premieres in April, one Etsy shop owner is bringing the wars of Westeros to our living rooms with an Iron Throne Pet Bed. Whether you have one pup who's going to claim the Throne and go full Joffrey or a few kittens who can nestle in there together, it's guaranteed to add some coziness to your home. Don't laugh, but you probably will end up bending the knee to your fluffy ruler. Shop the Iron Throne Pet Bed ahead, and imagine your pet saying, "Because that's what I do. I sh*t and I know things."

This UPS Driver Takes Photos With Dogs on His Route, and It's the Definition of "Puppy Love"

Jason Hardesty is a self-proclaimed "easily entertained UPS driver" with a collection of furry friends. Since starting a new route in New Orleans two years ago, Jason has had the chance to meet with many adorable dogs - and get some quality photo ops out of their interactions. His heart-melting canine snaps continue to grow in popularity, resulting in over 36,000 followers on his Instagram account.

Bestselling author Jami Attenberg helped catapult Jason to his now-viral fame, after she tweeted about his incredible photo series. "I have extremely important news and it is this: my sweet UPS guy has a hashtag of all the dogs in the neighborhood," she wrote, with a link to Jason's designated hashtag. "Also just want to add he is very good at his job! Top notch guy!" Jason told BuzzFeed News that Jami's tweet brought him "like 10,000 followers in 48 hours."

Jason doesn't have a dog of his own, so playing around with these pups brings him (and the dogs' owners) a lot of happiness. "
"They love the fact that their dog loves me and I love them," he told BuzzFeed.

This Instagram-Worthy Hard Kombucha Is As Boozy As Your Average Beer - Yes, Really!

As the weather warms up, it feels like the optimal time to reach for an ice-cold kombucha, fresh out of the fridge. If you're looking for a little Summer buzz, even better! San Diego-based company JuneShine offers a selection of flavors with 6 percent ABV - that's about the same as your average beer.

Kombucha is a fermented probiotic tea, packed with acidity and fizz, and many are fans of its purported health benefits. Due to the fermentation process, the drink is usually mildly alcoholic, with no more than 0.5 percent ABV unless you're looking for a little something extra. That's where JuneShine comes in.

JuneShine prides itself on using jun kombucha, which is brewed with green tea and honey, as opposed to the black tea and sugar used by other brands. Kombucha enthusiasts can sip on any of three available flavors: Blood Orange Mint, Honey Ginger Lemon, and Midnight Painkiller (which includes activated charcoal, coconut, pineapple, orange, nutmeg). JuneShine's all-organic ingredients, sugar-, and gluten-free ingredients set it apart from your typical boozy drinks, too. It sure doesn't hurt that the drink cans are picture-perfect, either.

Sadly, you can only find JuneShine drinks in Southern California stores or at the brand's hard kombucha bar in San Diego at the moment. The minds behind the scenes hope to expand production and distribution in the coming months, so stay tuned. While you wait, keep reading and check out a few of the boozy beverages for yourself, in a variety of 'grammable setups.

According to a CrossFit Coach, This Dumbbell Workout Is "Quite the Shoulder Smoker"

While barbells and gymnastics moves are a big reason CrossFitters' arms look so strong and defined, dumbbells are just as important. This dumbbell workout incorporates five dumbbell moves to target the biceps, triceps, chest, shoulders, and upper back. CrossFit coach Sefton Hirsch of Champlain Valley CrossFit told POPSUGAR, "This was quite the shoulder smoker." And by that, he means your arms will be sore for days - that's just the kind of workout we love!

Be sure to choose a dumbbell weight that's challenging. Since this workout is just three rounds (and will take you about eight to nine minutes), you want to make those reps count!

CrossFit Dumbbell Arm Workout

Equipment needed: A pair of dumbbells (six to 20 pounds). You can keep two pairs on hand to switch them up based on the moves.

Directions: After a five-minute dynamic warmup, complete three rounds of the below workout. If you need more details on each exercise, see the instructions ahead. Don't forget to cool down when you're done with any of these five stretches for your shoulders.

Exercises Number of reps
Burpee squat press 5
Bent-over row 10
Overhead shoulder press with overhead hold and walk 1
Plank with dumbbell row 10 (5 per side)
Dumbbell chest press 10

15 Exercises to Tone Your Triceps, and a Bonus Feel-Good Stretch For Them, Too

Since you don't see them when you glance in the mirror, it's easy to forget about the back of your arms. But you need to work your triceps to tone that area. Running from your shoulder to your elbow, the main job of this muscle is to straighten your elbow, which is a really common motion, so you can actually work this area in many exercises. From controlling a dumbbell back to the starting position in a bicep curl to straightening your arms at the top of a push-up, focus on what the triceps are doing to squeeze the most out of your reps.

Working this muscle doesn't mean you will lose fat on the back of your arms, but you will be building strength and muscle. For your toned triceps to pop, you need to lose weight all over, because you cannot spot-reduce fat by building muscle. We suggest a well-rounded workout plan with full-body strength training and cardio workouts.

Here's a collection of 15 triceps exercises for you to rotate into your sweat sessions to start strengthening them; pick two to three of these exercises for each workout. It's a mix of bodyweight moves and dumbbell and band exercises, and one of our favorites even uses the cable pulley machine.

This Is the Most Effective Way to Slim and Tone Your Thighs, According to a Trainer

Whether you're in decent shape, or you're just getting started working out, there's always that one trouble spot you wish was just a little firmer, be it your arms, your stomach, or your thighs. As frustrating as it can be, making progress in those areas starts with transforming your entire body.

"The unfortunate part of weight loss is that you really cannot spot-reduce fatty areas," Molly Canu, an NASM-certified personal trainer at The Fit Inn in New York City, told POPSUGAR. "You can, however, build muscle where you want, and sometimes that can be the solution to how you feel about a certain area of your body. I often try to encourage my clients to set strength goals that correlate to the areas they are trying to tighten up."

In other words, while you're working to reduce fat with a healthy diet and a mix of cardio and strength training, you can target specific muscles that will ultimately help give you the look you want. Here are five exercises Molly recommends to build up the thighs.

Don't Be Fooled by This Walking Workout - Your Legs Are Going to Be Sore Tomorrow

I love an intense workout, but I also know the importance of counterbalancing high-intensity workouts with recovery work. Some days I like to do pool workouts and other days it's a quick yoga flow. I recently ran the NYC Half Marathon, and let me tell you, running 13.1 miles takes a lot out of you.

I've been feeling super sore, and also dealing with some quad and knee pain, so I decided against resuming strength training. Instead, I've been taking it easy and doing low-impact workouts like this 25-minute treadmill workout.

The 25-Minute Walking Treadmill Workout

The workout is self explanatory, but I do recommend foam rolling and doing a few glute and core activation exercises before getting started. Feel free to adjust the incline and speed if necessary. Finally, be sure to walk with proper form. Engage your core, swing your arms, keep your shoulders back, and your chest open.

I KonMari-ed My Workout Clothes, and Now My Beloved Sneakers Bring Me Even More Joy

Like most people with access to Netflix and a WiFi connection, I too have become enchanted by the tiny organizational wizard known as Marie Kondo and her uncanny ability to spark joy through artfully arranging clothes and adding small boxes to drawers and closets.

With the help of my organizer Holly - I needed some emotional assistance to get started with this mess - I tackled the biggest part of my closet: my workout clothes. (Being a fitness editor has its perks.)

Of course, as any organizer would tell you, the first step is the purge. Eliminate any piece that no longer serves you, or no longer "sparks joy," as Marie would say. I followed suit, and had heaps and heaps of clothes to give to (very stoked) friends and donate to charity.

Lesson: the limit does exist, contrary to what Mean Girls would have you believe. Second lesson: Marie makes everything look so easy, and I honestly wish I had that graceful air about me, but alas, it takes work to get on this joy-sparking level.

Ahead are the different sections of my room and workout wardrobe, and how I got them organized using my best attempt at the KonMari method. If you're a novice like me, I hope this proves to be equal parts helpful and validating.

This Self-Care Wheel Will Show You Which Areas of Your Life Need Improvement

When self-care comes to mind, many of us may associate the practice with baths, naps, and yoga. And while those are definitely a few ways to address your needs, self-care encompasses far more than that. In fact, according to the self-care wheel created by trauma prevention expert Olga Phoenix, self-care includes six parts that are vital to managing stress and achieving happiness and life satisfaction.

"I originally designed the self-care wheel for me, personally, as a tool to get to that seemingly unattainable place of life balance, meaning, and contentment," Olga told POPSUGAR. "It is an empowering, affirming, and positive tool, comprised of six dimensions: physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, personal, and professional. Each dimension represents a part of our lives which requires our daily attention."

Effectively practicing self-care requires making sure the needs of each of the wheel's dimensions are met with meaning, and evaluating which areas still need improvement. Check out a breakdown along with examples of how you can work on your mind, body, spirit, and beyond. And keep scrolling to see the wheel in full!

I Went on 30 Dates in 30 Days, and Here's What Happened

"Who has time to find that many guys to go out with?" Rayna Greenberg and Ashley Hesseltine mused as we sipped coffees in the West Village last Fall. The duo hosts the hilarious podcast, Girls Gotta Eat, which is full of raw and relevant humor that hits on exactly what it's like to be a single millennial lady in New York City. At the time I was interviewing them for an article on dating trends in 2019 and simultaneously contemplating a move from San Francisco to New York. I asked them about dating experiments and they shared an idea they had to challenge themselves to 30 dates in 30 days, that they ultimately decided was more trouble than it was worth.

Challenge accepted, I thought to myself.

This comedy duo's throwaway idea piqued my interest. I imagined this was a great way to get to know a new city, hit the ground running on my romantic life in the New Year, and test my dating prowess. I knew I could do it on my home turf, but could I possibly find 30 eligible bachelors to date in my first month in a new city?

With only one way to find out, I decided to make the move official. I landed in Manhattan and started the clock immediately. It wasn't easy, it was only sometimes fun, and it turns out, Rayna and Ashley were right to scrap this idea. By the end, I was exhausted, disillusioned, and considered swearing off dating altogether, but the important thing is, I made it. Here's what happened.

5 Things I Really Wish I'd Known Before Being in an Open Relationship

Relationships are tricky business. Some say monogamy is overrated; some believe it's the only way. After my divorce, I decided that I should try out a variety of relationship styles to figure out exactly what I wanted. I'd been in a committed relationship for the majority of my adult life, and jumping into another one felt off somehow. "If this one didn't work out, why wouldn't another turn out just the same?" I asked myself. Of course, that was just my post-breakup brain talking. Committed, monogamous relationships are wonderful, but I was ready to try something new.

As I dipped my toes into the world of open relationships, I started by asking Google some questions: What is an open relationship exactly? How do you find other people who are interested in this setup? What books should I read about polyamory and the like? What if I don't want to be someone's secondary relationship?

Google didn't let me down, providing at least one billion different links to read (seriously). A book that continuously popped up was The Ethical Slut. A friend also suggested reading Mating in Captivity, just to feel out both sides of this precarious coin. Soon, I found a new relationship and shared what books I was reading with him. I cringed slightly, awaiting his response to my suggestion that we have an open relationship when we had only been seeing each other for a couple of months. Surprisingly, though, he was open to it. I was excited, but as it turns out, I was so unprepared for what it was actually like. Here are five things I wish I had known about being in an open relationship before actually being in one.

  1. A foundation of healthy communication is critical. Relationships bring out every emotion and feeling, and that's before you add in extra people. If you struggle with healthy communication, i.e. no yelling, name calling, shaming, passive aggressiveness, and so on, then adding other romantic relationships into the mix might just exacerbate things. Opening your relationship isn't necessarily a solution for a couple who are already struggling. Healthy communication should be your starting point. Do you really want to be in this primary relationship? If so, what are your reasons for wanting an open relationship?
  2. Set some ground rules beforehand. Do you have dealbreakers when it comes to an open relationship? Maybe you only want things to be open at certain times, like when visiting a sex club. Or maybe you're OK with hookups that are mostly physical, but you're against your partner developing a more romantically intimate relationship with someone else. Maybe sex is OK, but no sleeping over at each other's houses. Whatever your MO is, vocalize it. Your partner won't know what your needs are if you don't share them.
  3. It's easier to accept the idea of your partner having sex with someone else than actually navigating it in real time. That communication thing will come in handy here. Setting some ground rules is essential before venturing into open relationship territory. But even if you talk about everything that might make you uncomfortable - BAM! - something you least expected to bother you will. It's just part of the deal and something that you have to work through together. When we first ventured into other relationships, I asked my partner to share the first time he had sex with someone else so I could process it. I wasn't expecting the grief that I felt, but it was important for me to feel that so I could make an informed choice about whether I could do this thing or not.
  4. Be secure in who you are as a person. This seems obvious, and maybe others don't struggle with this, but there are times when my partner would be sharing things with me about a different partner (communicate if you want to hear about other partners), and what was being shared was completely opposite of how our relationship was. That inner critic began to pipe up in my head, saying, "She's better than you are. Prettier. More fun." Bat that critic down, and love yourself because you are enough. Your partner's affection for someone else doesn't diminish who you are as a person in the slightest. I don't want to be like someone else, and neither should you. If fears of "What if my partner decides to be with that other person?" pop into your head, acknowledge them. None of us are obligated to anyone else. If our partner, or we, decide to leave a relationship, that's OK. It's OK to move on. And it's also OK to grieve those losses if they occur.
  5. Know that everything is temporary. I often have an all-or-nothing mentality (maybe it's the Scorpio in me). When I say everything is temporary, I mean that every second of every day, things change. Some things are out of our control, and some things aren't. If something isn't working for you, voice it. Change it. If you were comfortable with something before but no longer are, say so. Just because you choose a path doesn't mean it's set in stone. If you or your partner want to continue this lifestyle and the other doesn't, that's OK. It might mean having to walk away from the relationship, or it might mean redrawing some boundaries that everyone is comfortable with.

Being in an open relationship isn't for everyone. I grew up in a very rigid, close-minded area where I didn't know such a thing existed. Allow yourself, if you want, to consider the idea, especially if it's something that has piqued your interest in the past. Treat yourself with compassion, patience, openness, and probably a healthy dose of humor (because, hey, it makes for good stories) if you decide to give an open relationship a try. You might just love it. Or you might not. But that's the beautiful thing about life; you can always change your mind.

This Married Couple's Steamy Canyon Photo Shoot May Cause You to Sweat Profusely - It's THAT Hot

There are many ways to celebrate your love for your spouse after the wedding, and this couple decided to express their devotion to each other with a passionate photo shoot. Andrea and Logan's shoot was even more dramatic thanks to a stunning canyon setting in Page, AZ. Andrea wore a white plunging bodysuit with a cape, a sexy twist on the bridal gown and veil, while Logan looked sharp in black suit and tie.

"The couple then celebrated their love on top of Horseshoe Bend with a steamy day-after session," said photographer Victoria Taylor. Andrea wore a red dress with thigh-high slits and a plunging neckline as they posed for the hot and heavy shoot. For her final outfit, she changed into a little black dress with lace detailing and embroidery. The happy couple popped a bottle of Champagne as they overlooked the breathtaking view of the canyon. Yes, You Absolutely Can Say "No" to Being a Bridesmaid - Here's How

Being asked to be in someone's wedding is usually an amazing moment. I remember when my sister presented me with a hand-designed card that read, "Will you be my matron of honor?" I cried. Like, ugly cried. My best friend's bridesmaid proposal likewise left me in tears. I felt so special and excited to stand next to her on the most important day of her life. But then there was the time a friend, whom I didn't even think would invite me to her wedding, let alone ask me to be in it, hit me with, "I want you to be my maid of honor!" Um, huh? What? I wanted to sink through the floor. Because I figured I couldn't say "no." Yet given how big of a time and financial commitment it is to be in a person's wedding, that's exactly what I wanted to do.

Unfortunately, since I worried about hurting her feelings, I said "yes." And guess what? Predictably, I regretted my decision. I ended up spending way more money than I could, and was forced to take time off from work to participate in the obligatory bachelorette festivities, the bridal shower, several wedding dress fittings, the rehearsal dinner, and of course, the wedding itself. Worst of all was that the bride-to-be acted ungrateful for everything I did. Why didn't I just go with my gut?

To solidify the fact that I had indeed made a mistake by putting someone I wasn't even that close with first and not thinking of my own happiness and mental health, I asked wedding etiquette experts if saying "no" to being a bridesmaid is actually OK. Jessica Garda, a wedding event planner from Pittsburgh, tells POPSUGAR, "I get that the idea of saying 'no' to being a bridesmaid terrifies most people, but the simple fact is that sometimes you need to say 'no.' Being a bridesmaid can be a huge commitment!"

She suggests talking to the bride about what her expectations are for the role: "Are they just expecting you to walk down the aisle and stand next to them? Or do they want you to plan all the pre-wedding events and spend potentially thousands of dollars on a dress, showers, and bachelorette parties?" Once you understand what being a bridesmaid will entail, Garda says it's perfectly reasonable to decline.

Um, but how? And without offending them or ruining your relationship? "Start by telling them how honored and touched you are that they asked you," she advises. "Then be honest about why you're saying 'no.' Try saying, 'This is huge responsibility and I don't think I have the time to fully commit to it.' Or, 'I'm just not in a place to afford all these expenses.'" Reasons to say "no" can be more personal, like if you just got divorced or suffered a loss in your family, but honesty is always the best policy.

Amber Anderson, from Refine for Wedding Planners, also offered this advice to POPSUGAR, saying, "You can absolutely say 'no' to being a bridesmaid and at times, it's actually the most loving thing to do. No one wants a wedding attendant that isn't fully committed, so it's important to take it all into consideration." She adds it can be helpful to tell the person that you're still so excited to support and celebrate them.

Phrasing your decision to say "no" so that's it's about the bride and not you is also a really good way to go. Krista Ostrander, Wedding Specialist on behalf of The Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor, NJ, offers up this suggestion: "Instead of saying, 'It will cost too much,' you might say, 'With starting my new job, money is really tight right now, and I would be uncomfortable being unable to contribute the same way as the rest of the group when it came to all of the special plans you deserve to have be a part of this adventure.' Or, you can say, 'With the previous commitments I already have, I worry that my schedule will really hinder what the group is trying to plan, and I don't want to put a damper on any of your wedding-related events.'"

From there, it's up to the bride to graciously accept your decision. My advice: Stick to your guns! Don't allow the person to convince you to change your mind, because you may end up back at square one, wishing you could say "no." As Jen Avey from Destination Weddings Travel Group told POPSUGAR, "It's better to say 'no' upfront than to say 'yes' and then back out later on in the planning process. A last minute change of heart could do more damage to your relationship than if you were to just decline in the first place."

In the end, I only wish I'd known how to politely decline the invitation to be a bridesmaid. Because no one wins if a bridesmaid is standing at the alter on a bride's big day, secretly not wanting to be there.
