Love Oat Milk but Want More Protein? Califia Farms Is Coming to Your Rescue
Nowadays it seems like you can make dairy-free milk out of almost anything - almonds, pea protein, and even oats! Oat milk is a good source of calcium and vitamin D, and dietitians told POPSUGAR in a previous interview that some brands are also slightly higher in fiber than other dairy-free milks, and this fiber benefits digestion and heart health. Generally, it has more calories than other plant-based milks and has about half the amount of protein as regular cow's milk (for reference, soy milk normally has protein comparable to cow's milk). So, what's a girl to do if she wants protein with her dairy-free milk made from oats? Enter Califia Farms with Übermilks.
Califia Farms, which makes a variety of plant-based milks, creamers, and yogurts, is bringing Übermilk exclusively to Whole Foods in May and Target at the end of June, a spokesperson confirmed. This milk will come in three flavors: unsweetened, unsweetened vanilla, and chocolate. Each features a blend of oat milk (duh), pea protein, sunflower oil and seeds, and flaxseed oil, and is rich in vitamins and essential amino acids. But the best part? Übermilk has eight grams of protein per eight-ounce serving.
Let's look more closely at the numbers: unsweetened Übermilk contains 140 calories, one gram of fiber, eight grams of protein, and two grams of sugar per one-cup serving. To compare, Califia Farms' Oat Barista Blend has only one gram of protein per serving, 130 calories, three grams of sugar, and zero fiber. It's a nondairy dairy miracle! Ahead, check out the full nutritional information for all three flavors of Übermilk, provided by Califia Farms. We're so ready for Spring.

12 Cell Phones From the Early 2000s That'll Make You Miss the Good Old Days
The early 2000s were a golden era for cell phones. We might not have had anywhere near the amount on offer as we do now, but every new phone release felt exciting and special. There were a lot of phone options to choose from (they all looked different!), phone cases and accessories to buy, and games of Snake to play. And while we all have shiny new smartphones that let us access the internet (and just about anything else) with the touch of our finger nowadays, let's be honest, you'll never love a phone more than your first one. The one that had a tiny screen, stayed almost fully charged for a whole week, and you needed two hands to hold as it was so heavy. Take a trip down memory lane and keep reading for 12 old school cell phones that you'll kinda wish were still around (Sidekicks forever!).

A Relationship Therapist Says This Is the Biggest Act of "Real Love and Romance"
If you look back on the fights you and your partner have had, many of them were probably easily preventable. Regardless of whose fault it is, both sides have control of the situation. It's up to you to decide how you want to handle it, whether it's feeding the flame or being the bigger person. How many of your arguments have been over something ridiculously trivial? And how many weren't worth the stress? Chances are that it was a majority. Constant bickering can damage your relationship in the long run, and if you don't make it a habit to catch yourself in the heat of the moment, you'll only continue to cause strain.
We spoke with K-Y's resident sex expert and relationship therapist, Dr. Laura Berman, to find out how couples can relieve the tension in a situation, and turns out it's a lot easier than you'd expect. If you've ever gotten mad at your SO because it seems like they just "don't get it," it's probably because they don't. But that also doesn't mean they shouldn't attempt to better understand you on their end.
"Often the partner is like, 'What's the big deal?', and that feels like a slap in the face," Dr. Berman told POPSUGAR. "So, even if they don't know why every candle in the house has to match, if they facilitate and assist, that is an act of real love and romance because it shows that even if they don't understand it or think it's important, it's important to you, so they're engaging and investing in it."
Dr. Berman continued to say how your initial reaction may be to try to talk your partner out of it - like stressing over matching candles, in this instance - or to respond to their irritation with anger. But as you probably already know, reacting in those ways rarely ends well. Real love, as she mentioned, is demonstrated by small acts of appreciation. The fact that you have zero interest in candles is not the point here. By putting aside your own opinions (or lack thereof) on something your partner clearly does care about, you're showing how much you value them and your relationship.
"It's really important that each of you take responsibility for the bar that you're setting and the unnecessary stress that you're creating," Dr. Berman said.
So the next time you catch yourself rolling your eyes or questioning your SO, pitch in instead. Don't get annoyed that they want to watch sports or bad reality TV - take it as an opportunity to spend time together. Seeing things from a different perspective will greatly benefit your relationship!

I KonMari'd My Apartment, and Here's What I Bought So That It Continues to Spark Joy For Years to Come
I came, I saw, I KonMari'd. Like it did for so many others, Marie Kondo's Netflix series Tidying Up sparked something in me to finally get organized in 2019. When her book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up first came out, I resisted the movement. "I'm really more of a more is more kind of gal," I thought at the time. Meanwhile, my small one-bedroom apartment that I share with my husband was slowly accumulating dusty piles of useless, well, crap in every nook and cranny. Closets were overflowing, bookshelves bending under pressure, floor space was becoming a precious commodity. Something had to change.
Enter: KonMari, 2019 edition. This time around, I was ready to embrace the magic, and honestly, it was life-changing. I followed Marie Kondo's steps in order, tackling each of her recommended categories on the weekends for the first two months of the year. I would make it my goal to finish a category in a weekend, including donating, selling, and trashing what I didn't want to keep by Sunday night so that I could start fresh the following weekend. As bag after bag of old-school papers, blurry photographs of scenery from a vacation we took in 1998, stained towels, broken kitchen utensils, unused hand-me-downs, ill-fitting clothing, and just plain garbage left our apartment, a literal weight was lifted off of me. I would do a happy dance every Sunday night as another category bit the dust. Now that my apartment was free of what didn't spark joy, it was time to make some strategic new purchases.
While it may seem counterintuitive, the process of KonMari-ing (or Spring cleaning) does involve purchasing new things along the way. Besides the obvious boxes and baskets, drawer organizers, and other storage and organizational products, clearing away the clutter causes you to reevaluate what's left and possibly replace that side table your parents gave you years ago that you never really liked or finally find some smarter space-saving solutions for art that's sat in your closet or clutter taking up valuable counter space in your kitchen.
Ahead, here are the organizers, furniture pieces, and other home products I bought to make sure my apartment continues to spark joy and stay organized for years to come.
Meghan Markle and Abigail Spencer Have Such a Genuine Friendship, TBH, I'm a Little Jealous
Meghan Markle and Abigail Spencer met as costars on Suits, but their friendship goes far beyond the USA Network legal drama series. In addition to sharing a Sept. 4, 1981 birthday (what are the odds?), Meghan and Abigail have always supported each other and spoken highly of one another. Abigail was present at both the royal wedding and Meghan's NYC baby shower, and most recently, Abigail gushed about what a great mom Meghan is going to be. "I think it goes without saying, she's incredible," Abigail told E! News. "She's incredible and that baby is so lucky to have them as their parents." To be honest, I'm a little jealous of their friendship. See Meghan and Abgail's cutest moments ahead!

Pete Davidson Tried (and Failed) to Keep It Together During This SNL Skit With Sandra Oh
You may think there's nothing funny about SAT test prep, but you obviously haven't sat in one of Sandra Oh's classes before. During the Killing Eve star's SNL hosting gig on March 30, Oh played a substitute teacher tasked with taking a group of high schoolers through some practice questions. Unfortunately, the students are in the mood to wax philosophical, and their dramatic monologues have nothing to do with the correct multiple choice answers.
This idea alone is worth a good chuckle, but once you spot Pete Davidson break character in the background of the sketch, you're bound to crack up too. Catch Pete's breaking point in the full sketch above - he tried so hard to hide the laughs!
This Is the Only Lotion I've Ever Tried That Doesn't Make My Body Feel Greasy
I am obsessive about my skin care - at least, when it comes to my face. I'm diligent about taking off my makeup before bed and applying my daily serums, but if I'm honest, the rest of my body is a different story. For one, I like to work out in the morning, which means I like to shower in the morning. And normally, applying lotion means I need to sit for at least five minutes before I can put my clothes on. I have neither the time nor the patience for this, so more often than not, while my face looks healthy and glowing, my body could use some help.
One day, a fellow editor showed me this Lanolips Everywhere Multi Cream ($17). I took it home, and didn't give it much thought until I got out of the shower the next day. And, oh my goodness. This lotion is not sticky. Let me repeat: this lotion is not sticky. I can apply this, and by the time I'm finished with my (very quick) skincare routine, I'm ready to put my clothes on. Which means, come Summer, I'll have the softest skin ever, and for less than $20, you can, too.
John Cena Goes on a Romantic Date After Ex Nikki Bella Confirms Her New Relationship
It looks like John Cena is ready to jump back in the dating ring pool following his split from Nikki Bella! Less than a year after calling off their engagement, the 41-year-old WWE superstar was recently spotted out on a date with a brunette woman in Canada. While the woman's identity has yet to be revealed, the pair seemed to have no problem showing off PDA as they held hands and smiled for the cameras.
John and Nikki dated on and off for six years before eventually going their separate ways last July. Coincidentally, Nikki just confirmed her relationship with her former Dancing With the Stars partner, Artem Chigvintsev. Even though Nikki and John are no longer together, she did say it would "kill her" to see John with another woman. Hopefully she's doing OK!
An Explanation For Who - and What - the "Tethered" Are in Jordan Peele's Us
Jordan Peele's second feature film, Us, is horrifying, to be sure. But by the time the credits start to roll, you might find yourself a little bit . . . confused, shall we say. Between all of the complex layers, hidden meanings, and creepy scares that are introduced over the course of the horror film, there is a lot to unpack. Who are the Tethered? And what do they want? Where did they come from? Put on your red jumpsuit and strap in, because we're breaking it all down ahead.
Warning: BIG spoilers for Us will follow! You've been warned.
In the beginning of Us, we meet the Wilsons: parents Adelaide and Gabe (Black Panther costars Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke) and their preteen kids, Zora and Jason (Shahadi Wright Joseph and Evan Alex). Together they travel to Adelaide's late grandmother's home in Santa Cruz, CA, for a Summer vacation, but it's immediately clear that something is up with Adelaide. As she confesses to Gabe later that night, she's haunted by a traumatic event that happened on the boardwalk there when she was a kid. No matter how many glasses of Rosé Adelaide has with their family friends Kitty and Josh Tyler (Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker), she's unable to move past it.
In the flashback to young Adelaide, we see her wander off from her parents at the boardwalk's amusement park on her birthday, ending up in a house of mirrors attraction all by herself. The storm raging outside cuts the power, and Adelaide stumbles through the funhouse, looking for an exit. But all of a sudden she's faced with a living, breathing reflection of herself - a little girl who looks exactly like her, down to her pigtails and the "Thriller" t-shirt her father won her at an arcade game just moments before. Adult Adelaide goes on to tell Gabe that she ran out after that, but he finds it hard to believe her story until the entire family is soon confronted by demonic versions of themselves (who we learn are called the "Tethered") that same night.
The Wilson family are then held hostage in their living room by their doubles. Red (Adelaide's jumpsuit-wearing double who is the only Tethered to actually speak) is in charge and makes it clear that the doubles have arrived to kill the Wilsons and take their place in the real world. The Wilsons are able to escape, with both Gabe and Zora killing their Tethered doppelgängers, Abraham and Umbrae. They arrive at the home of the Tylers (who have been brutally killed by their own doppelgängers at this point) and learn from a news broadcast that the entire country is under attack by murderous doubles. Where did they even come from?!
Essentially, the Tethered are the result of a government-funded nationwide cloning project. In some ways the experiment was a success, in that it was able to replicate human subjects physically, down to every last hair and molecule. However, the science was unable to copy the mind and soul, so to speak, of the original specimens. This was a problem since the whole point of the experiment was to create doubles to control the people they were modeled after. The Tethered were therefore left physically perfect but mentally damaged - with the exception of Red, none of them can even speak (they just howl and groan).
Red fills Adelaide in on this during their showdown at the end of the film, when she also reveals that once the government realized the clones were basically useless, it left them to rot in a series of underground tunnels lurking under the continental United States. As for why Red is able to speak and think and lead the rest of the Tethered in a murderous uprising against the people above ground? Well, that's where things get REALLY complicated.
Adelaide confronts Red in the underground tunnels beneath the hall of mirrors she entered as a child, encountering multiple rooms filled with rabbit cages, bunk beds, and classrooms. Adelaide comes across Red in one of the classrooms as the latter stands in front of a chalkboard covered in drawings of stick figures holding hands.
Red has always been different from the others, standing out with her voice and intelligence. Her plan all along has been to kill the original copies of the Tethered and form a line inspired by the 1986 charity event Hands Across America, in which people joined hands in a human chain for 15 minutes. According to Red, the line is a symbolic act to bring awareness to the Tethered's existence.
Adelaide succeeds in killing Red in the end, but that's not where the horror ends - through one final, chilling flashback that occurs as Adelaide is driving her family to safety in Mexico, the truth is revealed.
After young Adelaide (played by Madison Curry) encounters her double in the dark of the hall of mirrors, we see that the young doppelgänger actually knocks her out and drags her underground into the tunnel, handcuffs her to a bunk bed, and switches places with her. The "real" Red leaves Adelaide there to suffer with the Tethered, taking her place in the world above; this is why Adelaide's parents felt their daughter had changed after the day at the beach, why "Red" is the only Tethered who can speak, and why she leads a rebellion.
The metaphor of the Tethered is a bit convoluted, to be totally honest. But Peele's final shot, which is an aerial view of thousands of the Tethered linking hands across a mountain range in California, is yet another reminder of the importance of the Hands Across America imagery.
The 1986 charity event was meant to raise awareness for famine in Africa and homelessness in the United States, but here, Peele presents another way to look at it: people of privilege turning a blind eye to those in poverty, unable (or unwilling) to see the true nature of our nation's shameful history of subjugation until the fatal consequences of their actions are literally staring them in the face.
After all, like Red says after she breaks into Adelaide's home at the start of the film, the Tethered are "Americans."

Listen, 3-year-old me, I'm buying these Puma x Barbie trainers for you and I don't ever want to hear a peep out of you about how I've left my childhood in the dust. I still book Disney trips over Caribbean vacations, for crying out loud. But also, if I'm being honest, these sneakers are cool. I love the powder pink, yellow, and turquoise combo that somehow feels more sporty than girly. And actually, I'd 100 percent work out in these logo cycling shorts, which are, in my opinion (and I'm sure yours too), cooler than Kim Kardashian's Yeezy bikers. Love, 26-year-old me, who totally doesn't still keep her old stuffed animals stowed away under her bed.

13 Mosquito-Repelling Plants That Will Save Your Skin This Summer
We all love the summertime, but unfortunately, bugs do, too. 7 Bathroom Updates That Increased the Value of My Home
After buying our condo three years ago, my husband and I knew we'd eventually have to redo the guest bathroom in our hallway. It had a wobbly shower insert, dated finishes, and an impractical vanity without much storage. I hated going in there. So after a couple years of saving - and avoiding the room - we decided to bite the bullet and take on a small remodel project.
A before photo of my bathroom.
An after photo of my bathroom.
Creating a bathroom that reflected my own style was one of the main goals of the project. But I also wanted to stay in budget and avoid quirky updates that would decrease the value of my home. After doing some research, I discovered where I could save - and where I should splurge.
Don't just take my word for it. I caught up with HGTV star Scott McGillivray to check my work. After talking to him, I now know which updates gave me the most bang for my buck. McGillivray is the host of Income Property and wrote How to Add Value to Your Home. According to him, "next to the kitchen, the bathroom is the most important room in the house when it comes to resale."
That doesn't mean you have to spend more to make more. There are specific updates in the bathroom that are worth the investment, and others areas where a little goes a long way. Based on McGillivray's expertise these were the seven changes that had the biggest impact on my home's value.
1. Change the mirror.
"My number one suggestion is to get rid of the frameless builder grade mirror over the vanity," says McGillivray. Check! I did just that. We found this modern mirror ($240) that came with the bonus of a built-in shelf to hold candles, a small vase, or guest toiletries. It also acts as a statement piece.
2. Choose affordable tile.
What's the best place to save when you're redoing your bathroom? Tile, says McGillivray. "There are so many great, inexpensive tile options out there. I don't know why anyone would blow their budget on high-end tile." The marble hexagon floor tile is one of my favorite details in my bathroom, but it didn't break the bank. We were dedicated to getting an affordable price and limited ourselves to looking at wholesale warehouses - not even entertaining more expensive options.
Can't help yourself? "If there's a really expensive version that you've fallen in love with use it as a feature somewhere, like over the vanity, and then surround it with a less expensive version," recommends McGillivray. He also has this advice for making less-expensive tile last: "Make sure you've got a good waterproofing system like Kerdi board underneath it. This will ensure that whatever tile you choose it will last as long as you live in the house."
3. Get rid of 1980s wall texture.
I was determined to rid myself of that orange-peel look on the bathroom walls. But I wondered, was the more modern clean look worth the expense? "Yes," McGillivray reassures. "If it looks dated it indicates that it might not be well taken care of, and it might put potential buyers off." It's the same with those classic blue and pink fixtures, he says. "Some people like the retro feel, but they can be a nightmare for resale value."
4. Opt for frameless glass shower doors.
"Two things that are seriously worth considering are frameless glass shower doors and heated floors," says McGillivray. "I wouldn't go so far as to say they always add value, but I try to include them whenever possible." While we didn't need heated floors in San Francisco, we did change out our aging frosted shower insert for glass doors and blue glass subway tile.
5. Increase storage.
I decided to chuck my existing vanity, which was an awkward height and had no shelves or drawers inside. I traded it for the GODMORGON / BRÅVIKEN model from Ikea, which has deep drawers and a decent amount of space around the sink.
A vanity with storage must always be considered, according to McGillivray. "Don't get me wrong, pedestal sinks are nice," he says. "But they're really only practical in small powder rooms. Get as big a vanity as the room can handle and make sure it's got plenty of storage space."
6. Mix high and low.
"I've never believed that you have to spend a ton of money to make a room look great and to get a good return on investment," McGillivray reassures. "Spend money and invest in high-quality items when it comes to the items you touch everyday - like faucets and hardware."
I'm happy to say I took that approach. As mentioned, I opted for the GODMORGON / BRÅVIKEN vanity, which cost $479 from Ikea. It looks remarkably like the modern high-end vanities that go for thousands of dollars. I paired this "low" item with high-end hardware. We went for sink and shower pieces from the European brand Grohe. Chances are that potential buyers will notice the quality brand name, if and when we resell.
7. Add non-permanent personality.
"When it comes to resale value, you always want to keep the major elements clean and simple. Stick with neutral colors," says McGillivray. But let's be honest, I wasn't selling my place tomorrow and wanted to have a little bit of fun. According to McGillivray, it's safe to personalize things like lighting, hardware, and accessories. That's what we did with our light from Cedar & Moss ($269) and print from Minted ($165).
"There's no particular accessory that adds value," McGillivray explains. "It's more about how they work together to make the space look fresh and updated." Admittedly, when it came to our accessories my husband and I didn't worry about matchy-matchy. We wanted accessories that had the same overall feel, without obsessing over whether the wood or metals matched. And here's the beauty: if the next buyer doesn't like those non-permanent details, they can always change them.
This Is How All Your Favorite Chefs Make Deviled Eggs
'Tis the season for deviled eggs, and we've got a fresh batch of recipe inspiration from your favorite chefs. Take a break from traditional deviled eggs and add crab like Giada De Laurentiis, smoked salmon à la Ina Garten, or pink peppercorns if you're channeling Alton Brown. Ahead, check out all the ways your favorite food celebrities dress up their deviled eggs, and snag your favorite recipes for Easter and beyond.
Alton Brown: Pepper Speckled
Leave it to Alton Brown to take an unexpected approach to deviled eggs. His five-pepper deviled eggs are topped with a combination of five types of whole peppercorns: pink, white, black, green, and brined green. After grinding the peppercorns and sprinkling them on top of the eggs, you're left with a colorful egg that has a flavorful crunch in every bite.
Giada De Laurentiis: Crab Infused
Giada De Laurentiis's deviled eggs with crab are exactly what you need if you're looking for a slightly elevated yet doable version of the classic Easter appetizer. Not only are the eggs stuffed with lump crab meat, but they also have an Italian flair thanks to mascarpone cheese.
Chrissy Teigen: Secretly Spicy
Want to be Chrissy Teigen's friend? The criteria, according to the cookbook author herself, are "you must never call and you must love deviled eggs. Parties and holidays were created for deviled eggs," she writes in the intro for her Secretly Spicy Deviled Eggs on page 132 of Cravings. She swears hers don't evoke any grandma vibes, and she's right: there's sriracha and pickled jalapeños.
Ree Drummond: With a Secret Ingredient
The Pioneer Woman's deviled eggs might seem standard at first, but there's one ingredient that sets them apart from the rest: pickle juice. Instead of just adding relish to the top as many people do, Ree Drummond recommends stirring a small amount (a teaspoon) of pickle juice into the yolk mixture so the whole egg is flavored with tangy, salty goodness.
Sunny Anderson: Surprisingly Crunchy
Ever had a crunchy deviled egg before? Sunny Anderson's deviled eggs might convince you that's the only way to go. Sunny's trick is to add canned fried onions on top (yep, the good stuff from Thanksgiving). Lemon zest brightens them up, and pickled jalapeños add just the right amount of acidity.
Ina Garten: Topped With Smoked Salmon
Add a pop of pink to your spread with Ina Garten's smoked salmon deviled eggs. A decadent filling of sour cream and cream cheese makes these deviled eggs reminiscent of a lox bagel with cream cheese, save for the carbs. As always, Ina's recipe calls for "good mayonnaise," but yes, store-bought is fine.

The Simple Thing I Started Doing on Sundays That Changed the Rest of My Mornings
Every morning sort of went down like this: I'd already be stressed out the second I woke up, and my entire shower time would be spent frantically thinking of my to-dos and errands for the week. The panic would continue as I got ready, as well as on my office commute. I was already setting myself up for a hectic start to my day, as you could imagine it didn't stop once I got to my desk. But once I began doing one very simple thing on my Sundays, the rest of my workweek changed drastically. At the end of every weekend, I sit down and plan my week out on paper, so that I'm ready to hit the ground running come Monday.
It probably sounds like the obvious thing to do, right? Totally, but once I actually committed to making it a habit, everything changed. I'm a huge advocate of using a physical planner to stay organized, but I've always filled things in day to day. Now, I take about 20 minutes on Sunday afternoon or evening to brainstorm story ideas for the week, fill in my calendar with plans and scheduled workout classes, and list out everything else I need to take care of (bills, errands, reminders, etc.). I always argue that writing things down versus adding to your online calendar (I do both) helps you remember them better. Seeing assignments, meetings, and plans spaced out in front of you also gives you a better sense temporally. For example, knowing that something's due on Wednesday doesn't give you the same urgency as seeing it due the day after tomorrow.
When Monday rolls around, my mornings are free to calmly get ready for my day now that a matrix-looking list isn't running through my head. My showers have also turned into a relaxing morning ritual with feel-good music, since I already have everything planned out. Overall, I feel so much more at ease before heading into the office. The key is really to force yourself to prep on that Sunday (and every Sunday!) to make your life significantly easier on the days to follow. Trust me, it's seriously life changing.

I cannot shower without music; it is simply not possible. I use songs as a way to zone out, soundtrack my singing, and time my showers: if I hit song five, it's time to get out. But, for me, shower time is a time to relax and escape, which is why I freaked out a little bit when I saw this LED Showerhead ($25). This takes showering to a whole new level. It's bright, flashing, and a full-on party every time you bathe. Whether you have a favorite color or are partial to the rainbow, you can now have a light show in your bathroom for a fraction of the price of concert tickets. Now, the only question is, what's on your shower playlist?
