These Are the Latinx Who Made the Time 100 Most Influential People List

As of July 2017, there are 58.9 million Hispanics and Latinx in the United States. That constitutes 18.1 percent of the country's population, making people of Hispanic and Latinx origin the nation's largest ethnic or racial minority. So, when Time magazine released the list of the 100 Most Influential People of 2019, we were glad to see the well-deserved Latinx representation.

The list features some of the most well-known artists, politicians, and world leaders, and although it is supposed to be a more global selection, the list is very US-focused when it comes to artists and most politicians. It is divided into five categories: pioneers, artists, leaders, titans, and icons.

Last year, we saw nine Latinx making the list: Jennifer Lopez, Emma Gonzalez (Parkland survivor), Cardi B, Guillermo del Toro, Carmen Yulín Cruz, Mauricio Macri, Cristina Jiménez (DACA recipient), Daniela Vega (first trans actress to present at the Oscars), and chef José Andrés. This year, there are 10 included, but they're lesser-known faces who are definitely making a huge impact in the world.

One person we, as Latinos, know is changing the music game is Ozuna, and for him to be recognized in this year's list marks a huge win. Daddy Yankee wrote a little bio where he remarked that what got his attention about Ozuna was "his tenacity, his sublime and unique voice, and his drive" and that his early beginnings mirrored and reminded him of his own. Yankee recognized his community contributions, and called out that Ozuna "was fearless to ask a superstar to be part of his record."

Yalitza Aparicio also made the list. Alfonso Cuarón wrote a moving description of what it was like to work with her, and how he deeply admires her that she doesn't get caught up in the fame of Hollywood. "She focuses on being a force of change and empowerment for indigenous women, embracing the symbolic value of what she has done and carrying that responsibility with dignity and grace."

Another important Latinx figure featured on the list was Mirian G. Mirian (a pseudonym for her and her family's safety) is a Honduran mother who came to the US to legally seek asylum from civil unrest in her country. At the border, she was forcibly separated from her 18-month-old son for two months. She joined a class-action lawsuit filed by the ACLU on behalf of all the separated families, and used her voice to share her experience and promote change. She drew national attention to families without voices, and the lawsuit resulted in a federal judge issuing an injunction to reunify separated families. As Kumail Nanjiani wrote, "Welcome home, Mirian. We need you."

We can't talk about game-changers without mentioning Juan Guaidó. He's the unexpected leader who has risen from Venezuela during the tragic times that surround the country. There's an ongoing dictatorship that is destroying the country. There's no food, no medicine, no money, no electricity, no basic needs supplies. People are dying at an alarming rate, and while many have been protesting and crying for a change, the current government keeps pushing back, attacking those who want a democracy. Enter Juan Guaidó. "Young, energetic, articulate, determined, he has demonstrated possession of the mother of all virtues: courage," writes Juan Manuel Santos, former Colombian president and Nobel Peace Prize winner in 2016. "By being in the right place at the right time, he was able to finally unite the opposition and become a beacon of hope for a country that is yearning for a rapid and peaceful change."

An obvious choice for this year's list is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The young political leader is making strides in Washington and forging her way to the White House. Presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren credited her leadership in illustrating and fighting for what true prosperity should look like. "She reminds all of us that even while greed and corruption slow our progress, even while armies of lobbyists swarm Washington, in our democracy, true power still rests with the people. And she's just getting started."

Pope Francis was included. Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna praised him for implementing crucial policies to protect children and others in response to the major child sex scandals coming out of the Catholic church. Luchita Hurtado, most notably known as a painter, but also a photographer, poet, fashion designer, ecologist, and activist, also made the list.

There were two more controversial inclusions: Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil's new president, has caused much contestation thanks to his toxic masculinity, his ultraconservative views on LGBTQ rights, and the chance that he might reverse Brazil's progress on tackling climate change. Andrés Manuel López Obrador waited 12 years to become Mexico's president and finally made it, although his full control of Congress and his personal style of making decisions have raised flags among those who don't want another authoritarian populist.

And last, but not least, there's Naomi Osaka, who made headlines when she beat Serena Williams and won the US Open. She was born in Japan, but grew up in the US in the home of her Haitian grandparents. "No one represents our more globalized, multicultural future better than this honest, polite, self-deprecating tennis life force, a potential champion for years to come," wrote Chris Evert.

Priyanka Chopra's Boots Make Me Wonder If I Can, in Fact, Wear See-Through Shoes

When Priyanka Chopra arrived to the Burn This opening night on Broadway, we were slightly surprised to find her in a bright yellow tweed suit from the Spring 2018 Chanel runway. She went all out and rocked the designer from head to toe, completing her separates with the recognizable PVC boot that made waves that season. Priyanka is no stranger to transparent shoes - she recently showed off her toes in a pair of Sergio Rossi pumps and she's pulled off the trend with sandals on the red carpet, too. She makes us wonder if it's time we gave our feet the spotlight and tried out the look, the question being whether we've got enough confidence to overcome our fear and go clear.

54 Fresh Ways to Wear a Classic Stripe Top - Plus, Our Favorites For $50 or Less

There are certain colors and prints we associate with each season - pastels and florals for Spring, jewel tones and shimmer for Winter, and bright hues and nautical stripes for Summer. Specifically, striped tops, from tees to sweaters.

Despite actually being a staple year round, striped tops feel quintessential at the beach, on a boat, and, of course, for holidays like Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, especially in shades of red and blue. But like with every other heroic item in our wardrobes (tanks, blazers, white t-shirts) striped tops can skew snoozy if you always wear you go-to versions the same few ways.

This summer, why not shake things up in the striped top department, whether with a bouncier color, bolder pattern, or fresher silhouette (just wait until you see the puffy-sleeve version I'm obsessed with, ahead)? And who better to inspire a refreshing take on wardrobe staples than the ever-stylish women of the street style scene?

Ahead, we've collected 54 fashionable takes on classic striped tops, from effortless, off-duty looks to smarter takes for work and beyond. Plus, we've rounded up our favorite striped tops from the POPSUGAR collection at Kohl's - which a little someone named Mindy Kaling has proven to be a fan of - all between $18 and $50.

I Follow This 1 Style Tip Every Single Day, and It's Majorly Improved My Confidence

Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Benjamin Stone

I'm only slightly embarrassed to admit that Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice and Avril Lavigne were my primary style icons in high school - which meant I was often covered head to toe in black. My goth/emo days aside, black has always been a color that I've felt comfortable putting on my body; it's flattering and professional. What I didn't realize until my second year of college was that I was wearing all of that black as a security blanket, and I was letting it hold me back.

I was using the color black to shield myself from the world, to avoid attention, and to blend in with my surroundings as much as possible, because I wasn't confident in myself or the way I looked. But as I became happier with myself, I no longer felt as comfortable dressing in dark colors all the time, because that didn't reflect my mood or the way I wanted to feel. I decided to step up my style game in the simplest and most effective way I could think of: by adding color.

While there was no singular "aha!" movie moment for me, I gradually realized that I needed to diversify my wardrobe, and that meant stepping into the dangerous world of reds, blues, yellows, and a whole color wheel of outfits that felt unfamiliar. Look, I get it. "What's the big deal? It's just a little color." For someone who was used to constantly hiding behind a safety net of darkness, it was scary to venture into the unknown and go out in a light-colored top that didn't camouflage my perceived flaws as well as a darker one might or to wear a color that I felt drew too much attention. It was a difficult adjustment to make, but piece by piece, I started to revamp my wardrobe, and I couldn't be happier that I did.

Starting with navy blues and dark purples, I slowly built myself up to wearing reds and light greens and eventually yellow - the brightest color of them all! Even if I was just throwing on a green shirt with a pair of black pants or wearing shoes that added some color to my ensemble for the day, I could feel the effect that simple change had on my mentality. In the same way my mood inspired me to change my wardrobe, the pops of color I started adding to my outfits improved my mood and made me more excited to leave the house, head to work, run errands, and just participate in the day. I didn't feel like hiding anymore.

Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Benjamin Stone

Not enough research has been conducted on color psychology to make any hard and fast conclusions about which colors improve your mood more than others, such as yellow to feel happy or red to feel powerful. Still, colors undoubtedly have an effect on our emotions and how we perceive others and the world around us. So while wearing black made me feel serious and safe, softer colors made me feel calm and brighter colors made me feel more energetic. Placebo effect or not, mixing color into my wardrobe might be one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Don't get me wrong - I can likely still be spotted wearing some black every single day, because it goes with everything and it truly is a staple. But now I can say I'm not afraid to slip on a pair of red shoes or a baby-blue shirt before leaving the house, because life isn't a My Chemical Romance music video, and I'm glad I finally realized that.

When It Comes to Serving Looks, Sofia Carson Is a True Queen

After getting hooked on Freeform's The Perfectionists, it didn't take long for me to start following Sofia Carson on basically every single social media platform. In addition to being a talented actress, incredible singer, and just supersweet human being, the 26-year-old also has some incredible taste in clothes. When she's not killing the fashion game on the series, she's treating the red carpet like her own personal runway. We're talking about everything from a Giambattista Valli party dress to an Elie Saab gown. See some of her best fashion moments ahead.

Before You Watch Homecoming, See Every Outfit Beyoncé Wore at Coachella

Beyoncé made history at last year's Coachella as the festival's first black female headliner. Bey gave us an encore this year with the release of Homecoming, a documentary that gives us a behind-the-scenes look into how the record-breaking performance was produced. The sexy singer took the stage to perform some of our favorite hits such as "Formation" and "Drunk in Love," and you'd better believe her outfits were amazing. (She even brought out JAY-Z and Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams!)

Homecoming not only lets us re-live Beychella, but it also gives us a chance to look back at all of her amazing outfits. Bey showed off her amazing dance moves in a handful of Balmain outfits. Designer Olivier Rousteing weighed in on the collaborative process. "Beyoncé made it clear to me that her second weekend needed to be just as rich, just as powerful and just as impressive - if not more so. So, we all pushed ourselves. We all went the extra distance," he said in a press release.

Somehow, even with her busy schedule, the singer found the time to design two distinct collections with Balmain - and she even rocked a pair of custom Christian Louboutin fringe boots while on stage! Read on to see all of her sexy outfits ahead, then check out some street style from this year's party in the desert.

I Always Wear These $4 Shorts Under Dresses to Avoid Flashing Everyone in My Vicinity

In the first month following my big move to New York after college, I learned plenty of vital life lessons the hard way. Don't go to Trader Joe's on a Sunday unless you feel like waiting in an hour-long checkout line. When the subway conductor says "there's another train right behind this one," they're definitely lying just to make people stop cramming into the subway. Avoid Times Square at all costs if you want to maintain your precious sanity. And perhaps most important, always - and I mean always - wear shorts under your skirts and dresses.

After a handful of subway grate wind gusts led me to flash everyone in my vicinity, I decided enough was enough.

I had my inaugural Marilyn Monroe moment right after moving to the Big Apple. A rogue Hudson River breeze came barreling down a city street, taking my flowy skirt captive and offering random passersby a peek at my cheeky undies. Wrapped up in my just-moved-to-NYC fervor, I shrugged it off as a right of passage for city transplants, but after the next handful of subway grate wind gusts led me to flash everyone in my vicinity, I decided enough was enough. It was time to bring these unasked-for peep shows (and the resultant creepy catcalls) to an end.

My solution to this all-too-common struggle was hiding in the racks of Forever 21. A $4 pair of gray cotton-blend biker shorts caught my eye as I made my way through the crowded store, practically calling out, "Buy me, Victoria! I can save you from flashing your lady bits to random strangers!" Needless to say, I obliged, and nearly three years later, I refuse to leave my apartment in a dress or skirt without slipping on the comfy, form-fitting shorts underneath.

If you, too, are sick of hustling down bustling city streets while holding your skirt down, I suggest investing in a pair of shorts that are tight but still on the comfortable side, and wearing them under any opaque, flowy dresses and skirts rather than sheer or formfitting ones. To makes things easier for you, I've compiled a handful of shoppable options that'll give you peace of mind as you're makin' your way downtown . . . walkin' fast, faces pass, and you're home bound. Shop 'em all below.

The Barely There Sandal Trend That's Taking Over This Season

Strappy sandals have been around for years, but there's a sleeker look taking over the streets. Some have even gone so far as to dub this look "dental floss" sandals. We can't help but be reminded of the early aughts due to the sandal's super thin straps and minimalist feel. These sandals are clearly catching on because even Rihanna has been spotted in a pair! Scroll on to get some inspiration on how to style these sandals and shop some of our favorite selects, too.

Low-Rise Jeans Are Really Coming Back, Huh? Here's Why I Refuse to Wear Them

A decade after its ubiquity, the low-rise jean trend is once again appearing in high-fashion collections and on street style stars. Gigi Hadid wore low-rise jeans during her Spring 2017 show for Tommy Hilfiger, while fashion houses like Gucci, Alexander McQueen, and even Chanel have included the trend in recent runways. Headlines across the internet quickly began to warn of the reappearance of low-rise jeans, and while the saying "everything old is new again" tends to hold true in fashion, I somehow did not see this trend coming - or coming back, rather.

For any readers who might have rid the trend from their memory - or, you know, any Generation Alphas out there - low-rise jeans, or hip huggers, became popular after stars like Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Keira Knightley, and Paris Hilton made it so. The style was also frequently paired with some sort of a belly chain, or a g-string with its straps peeking above the jean's waistband.

Its association with the '90s and '00s, however, is actually credited to Alexander McQueen, who debuted a pair of crack-revealing pants, referred to as Bumsters, during his debut collection in 1994. The designer would go on to include the style in a few subsequent collections. It seems the late designer's brand is trying to bring the trend back, with low-rise jeans appearing in two Alexander McQueen shows in the last three years, most recently in its Spring 2019 collection

My general opinion on bottoms is: if I can see my belly button, I'm not interested. While I appreciate its importance in the canon of denim, I already lived through the height of the low-rise trend as an awkward adolescent in the 2000s, and I've been happily sitting in my high-waist jeans ever since. Though the silhouette of my jeans have changed over the years from skintight skinny jeans to straight-leg mom jeans, the rise has stayed the same.

There's a utility, I've learned, to the higher waistband: it creates the illusion of longer legs, while also offering a control-top effect for my waist. Now, this isn't meant to radiate any negativity towards my body (I quite like my body as it is), but I simply think my proportions look better in a high-rise pant or skirt.

I couldn't tell you how I would look in low-rise jean because, well, I stopped shopping at Limited Too when I was 12 . . . so that explains it. I can, however, already imagine the inevitable tugging at my waistband and the incessant concern over sitting down and exposing my underwear. Not to overshare, but I've also got quite a butt, and high-waist jeans have allowed me to live free of those fears.

Although I'm definitely of the "wear what you want" belief - seriously, knock yourself out with hip huggers if you so please! - I personally don't see them landing in my closet anytime soon.

My Only Wish Is That Michelle Obama's Jumpsuit Wasn't a Custom Piece Because I Need It Now

Michelle Obama has worn so many glamorous outfits during her book tour throughout Europe, we're honestly having a hard time deciding which one reigns supreme. A few days after rocking two crystal-encrusted pastel suits back to back (one was blush pink and the other light mint), the former first lady chose a black embellished jumpsuit while promoting her memoir, Becoming, in London. A custom Stella McCartney piece, Michelle's outfit featured a tasteful off-the-shoulder design and shiny ombré beading that blended silver, gold, and gunmetal trimmings. It looks like the perfect New Year's Eve ensemble, if I do say so myself.

Michelle finished her look with gold Jennifer Fisher hoop earrings and black patent Jimmy Choo pumps - the same ones she paired with slitted trousers just one week prior. Keep reading to admire every angle of Michelle's shimmery outfit below, and you won't be able to take your eyes off the playful beads on her jumpsuit.

7 Easy Ways to Wear Prints Head to Toe

There's something about summer weather than makes me feel a little more adventurous in the outfit department whether it's with a brighter color, more playful silhouette (which includes everything from puffy-sleeve tops to boilersuits and rompers this season), or a bolder print (I'm currently on a mission to master polka dots right now). Speaking of prints, head-to-toe prints are another playful look I'm about for Summer when the mood is light and my willingness to experiment is a skosh higher that normal. If you relate, stick with me.

From trendy fruit prints to classic stripes and polka dots, head-to-toe print outfits are one of the easiest ways to make an impact. How is it so easy when it seems so complicated? The secret is coordinating pieces you can pair together for a seamless effect such as a tie-front top with high-rise pants, a long-sleeve blouse with a miniskirt, or a sleek shell tank with trousers. And wouldn't you know, the POPSUGAR collection at Kohl's is chockfull of printed separates that pair effortlessly together for work, date night, or vacation.

Ahead, see seven easy ways to wear prints head to toe this summer, including style tips for what to pair with each combo. With each outfit coming in at $70 or less, you may want to scoop up a couple sets and really lean into the look all season. I know I will.

Kendall Jenner's Sparkly Cinderella Heels Need a Moment of Appreciation

Kendall Jenner joined her pals Gigi Hadid and Hailey Baldwin at Coachella. The supermodel had multiple outfit changes while enjoying the music festival in Indio, CA. One of my favorite looks had to be when she styled a pair of balloon shorts with a white button-down shirt. She left her shirt open to reveal a matching white bikini top underneath. Rather than styling her shorts with combat boots or sneakers, she opted for a pair of Cinderella-worthy heels by Zarqua and a matching Area bag ($1,595). Take a moment to appreciate her sparkly heels ahead, and then shop similar versions.

These $90 Sam Edelman Mules Are the Only Shoes I'm Wearing This Season

Living in a city where you have to walk (basically) everywhere mean you need to find a comfortable pair of shoes that don't rub, pinch, or fall off. But that can be harder than getting a Jonas Brother's song out of your head. Enter Sam Edelman's Natalya mules ($90). I started seeing these adorable mules all over Instagram where bloggers and influencers raved about how cute and comfortable they were. I was intrigued. Could this pair of mules be the answer to my pedestrian prayers?

Since purchasing a white pair of these shoes, I've worn them almost every day. Not only are they cute with jeans, but they also add something extra to a sun dress or a pair of shorts. Did they stand up to the test of walking around the city? You bet! I wore them to work, brunch, and to run errands without a single blister to complain about. Now that I've gushed to you about how much I love these shoes, excuse me while I add the three other colors to my cart.

Cinderella's Glass Slippers Have Nothin' on Priyanka Chopra's Crystal-Studded PVC Heels

Cinderella better sleep with one eye open, because Priyanka Chopra is about to snag her Disney princess title. While stepping out in New York City to attend the Women in the World Summit, Priyanka wore a sexy 2019-approved version of Cinderella's famous glass slippers, and although her Prince Charming, Nick Jonas, unfortunately wasn't there to accompany her, she still looked as regal as ever.

A pair of Sergio Rossi slingbacks, Priyanka's PVC pumps featured giant crystals along the sides and rather skinny heels that made me feel unbalanced just by looking at them. The actress wore her magical shoes with a gray slitted skirt and matching off-the-shoulder blazer set by Ralph & Russo, silver shoulder bag, and Chopard jewelry. Priyanka's see-through pumps are devastatingly not available for purchase, but never fear, Cinderella-lovers - I tracked down tons of in-stock styles that are similarly magical. Shop them all ahead. Let's hope she makes it home by midnight to avoid any Uber-ride-turning-into-pumpkin situations!

This Is, Hands Down, the Hardest-Working Concealer I Have Ever Tried

What's more satisfying than the click of an Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat concealer? How that one short sound signifies the basis of my completely blurred-out complexion.

Earlier this year, the luxury beauty brand released its Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat High Cover Radiant Concealer ($35) - a more opaque version of the original highlighting concealer. The brand promised that the next-gen version of the pen had the ability to cover and brighten up hyperpigmented areas (even ones that have bluish undertones). Having used the OG makeup favorite, I jumped at the opportunity to test drive it.

The first time I tried out High Cover, which has the same click-pen packaging as the original, I knew that one press of the button was all I'd need to cover the surface area beneath one eye. What I hadn't expected was that the first layer I had laid down was enough to completely hide the blue-toned under-eyes, as well as blur out the redness around my nostrils.

What surprised me even more was how easy it was to use on the go. Now, I take this pen with me everywhere I go - often using it in the back of Ubers. I typically sweep on the liquid with its brush tip and tap it out with my fingertips (after sanitizing my hands, of course).

There was nothing wrong with the Touche Éclat Radiant Touch - I adored its lightweight wear and highlighting effect. I can say the same in regard to my relationship with this concealer - we just clicked.

12 Products You'll Need to Survive Coachella (and Look Good Doing It)

Much like Clark Kent and pretty much every husband on Who the Bleep Did I Marry?, the music festival Coachella leads two separate lives: the casual daytime concert and the boisterous nighttime party. Both are brimming with opportunities for dancing, sweating, and front-of-Ferris-wheel-picture-taking, and if you're headed to Palm Springs for the occasion, you'll want to come equipped with everything you need for any and all of them.

"You can do whatever you want at Coachella - rhinestones, glitter, face paint, anything," said Nam Vo, makeup artist and spokesperson for NYX Professional Makeup (the official sponsor of the festival). "You might go during the day, and you want something natural and glowy, but then you do glitter eyes or turn it up for the evening when the music really starts," Vo said. "Coachella is a free-for-all in terms of expression. I also think at the end of the day, as creative as people want to get, you also want it to be flattering."

To help guide you through your packing list, we asked Vo to share the desert island essentials she'll be bringing this year - and we can guarantee it won't just be the performers stealing the show.

Tarte's New Mascara Gave Us Eyelashes So Fierce, Beyoncé Would Approve of Them

Three things came to mind when I first tested Tarte's new mascara, the Big Ego ($23): highlighter markers, my lost eyelash curler, and Beyoncé.

The mascara reminded me of the office staple for obvious reasons - its neon tube looked exactly like the pink one by Hi-Lite - but inside, and you'll find an hourglass-shaped spoolie. The brand promised that this brush would "[mimic] the curves of your lash line to build root to tip volume," thanks to its "twisted double-fiber bristle brush for max pigment load," and it followed through. As I swept the brush from the roots to the tips my eyelashes, I saw a visible lift. A few more coats gave them the same curvature my lost eyelash curler would have.

I let the mascara set before combing through a few more layers, which left them "big, wide, and strong" - as Beyonce said in her early 2000's track "Ego." (What? She was referring to someone's confidence). The fibers lengthened and thickened without ever clumping. The result: eyelashes so fierce, even the megastar herself would approve of them.

Even stronger than your lash game is the brand's mission with its Big Ego campaign. Through the new initiative, Tarte seeks to empower women, kicking off a campaign with the Big Ego Girls Leadership Summit - a weekend event for girls ages 13-18 to inspire them to grow into powerful women through panels and programming.

See the mascara, which will be available on Tarte's website on April 18, ahead.

I Didn't Expect to See Jason Momoa Shave His Signature Sexy Beard, But Here We Are

Please mark this day as a significant historical event: Jason Momoa has shaved for the first time in seven years. His sexy scruff was a key staple for many of his characters, like Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones or Aquaman. Yet, on Wednesday, the 39-year-old actor released a video on YouTube and ceremoniously ditched his famous beard for a good cause.

Hailey Baldwin Just Used Her New Last Name to Launch a Potential Beauty Line

Hailey Baldwin has been loving her new moniker since she got married to Justin Bieber in 2018. According to TMZ, the model has been enjoying being a Bieber so much that her company has trademarked "Bieber Beauty" with the intention of potentially launching cosmetics and other beauty products under the name.

While there's no news yet about what exactly the new company will sell, based on the model's go-to looks, we're guessing she'll stick to "no-makeup" makeup products, an occasional bold lip color, and plenty of hair accessories.

Check out some of her best beauty looks ahead to hold you over until she reveals more.

Karlie Kloss Just Curled James Corden's Lashes With a Teaspoon - Yes, Really

There are plenty of nifty tricks and hacks when it comes to makeup, and who can blame us for wanting a quicker and more effective routine? Whether you're attempting to make cheap false lashes look real with this easy trick or figuring out the dos and don'ts of exercise and eyelash extensions, there's no shortage of information out there, but it seems there are still plenty of tips we've not yet tried.

One such trick is using a teaspoon to curl your eyelashes. Karlie Kloss (who is always a fan of a fun beauty trick) demonstrated this method while stopping by The Late Late Show With James Corden. Using a teaspoon that Corden conveniently had in his suit pocket, Kloss held it just above his eyelid and pressed his lashes up against it (no doubt having been in Corden's pocket, the spoon was nicely warmed when she used it) to create a subtle curl on his "already incredible lashes."

Watch the clip above to see if you think this beauty hack delivers on its promise. Perhaps next time you find yourself at a hotel room or at work without your beloved eyelash curlers, just grab a spoon (a clean one, please) for all your eyelash curling wishes.

Don't Mind Me, Just Out Here Salivating Over Krispy Kreme's New Fruit-Inspired Doughnuts

Much like us, Krispy Kreme is anxiously anticipating Summer's arrival with open (albeit sun-deprived) arms. Whereas I'm personally doing so by shoving my Winter coats far under my bed and online shopping for new bikinis, the doughnut joint is prepping for the impending seasonal switch-up by releasing a collection of fruit-inspired treats.

From May 6 through June 16, participating Krispy Kremes across the US will offer three new doughnut flavors - Pineapple, Key Lime, and Strawberry - all of which are shaped and decorated to resemble the actual fruits. The Pineapple Doughnut features that signature crisscrossing pattern and is bursting with tangy pineapple filling, the light green Key Lime flavor is chock-full of tart cream, and the heart-shaped Strawberry option is packed with red strawberry filling. Are you drooling yet?

Oh, and on top of these brightly colored treats, Krispy Kreme is also re-releasing its famed Lemon Glaze Doughnut to help foodies kick off Summer on a zesty note. But, just as the chain did last year, the popular flavor will only be available for one week, beginning April 22. Needless to say, our taste buds are more than ready.

Pickle Chips Made of Actual Pickles Are in the Works, and We Can Already Hear the Crunch

Pickle has become an It snack flavor the past few years, and the trend is showing no signs of slowing down. Vlasic is introducing pickle chips - like, actual crunchy chips made solely of pickles - so you can really take your love of the briny cucumber to the next level. Food Business News announced the launch and revealed that Conagra Brands, the parent company of Vlasic and other brands, is coming out with the pickle chips in addition to snacks like Slim Jim Fried Pork Rinds.

The Original Dill Pickle Chips are "vacuum-fried" pickles packaged in snack-size bags, so they make for a convenient, low-calorie snack. A spokesperson for Conagra said the item is "still in development" and there is no release date, but the photo is enough to get excited about. Unlike Lay's pickle-flavored chips that were re-released this year, these pickle chips aren't made with potato.

S'mores Oreos Are Returning to Stores, and I Can't Marsh-Mallow Out

It's. Really. Happening. For the first time since 2016, S'mores Oreos are officially set to make their return to supermarket shelves in April. These fan-favorite treats made their debut in May 2015 but sadly disappeared from stores the following year. Thank goodness they're coming back - Spring just got a whole lot sweeter! The Oreos have already been spotted at some Walmart stores.

In case you forgot (it has been three years, after all), S'mores Oreos feature a graham-flavored cookie with chocolate- and marshmallow-flavored creme inside - yum! If you're excited by this news, get ready to shop anywhere Oreo cookies are sold.

Guys, I'm not sure who exactly needs to hear this today, but I for one think it's very important for everyone listening to know that, thanks to International Delight, it'll soon be socially acceptable to have s'mores for breakfast. The creamer and iced coffee brand is launching a s'mores-flavored coffee creamer this Spring that's sure to take some of us right back to the days we spent perfecting those delicious graham cracker, chocolate, and marshmallow sandwiches around the campfire.

International Delight's S'mores Creamer joins a long list of buzzy, delectable creamer flavors that have wound up in grocery aisles as of late, including a Peeps Marshmallow flavor, Snickers and Dove Dark Chocolate flavors, and even a Reese's creamer. The new item will be available at grocery stores nationwide beginning in April for a limited time and will retail for $3.79 a bottle.

Is Ginger Beer Actually Alcoholic? Here's What You Need to Know

If you've enjoyed a moscow mule or a dark and stormy, then chances are that you've heard of ginger beer, the ideal Summer cocktail mixer for lovers of all things fermented and bubbly. But despite its popularity, most people have no idea what the heck ginger beer even is. Unlike its cousin ginger ale (a drink better known for taming upset stomachs than mixing with cocktails, though it can definitely be used for both), ginger beer has much more of a "gingery" flavor because it's naturally fermented rather than simply carbonated. It's also actually made with ginger root.

But the question remains: is ginger beer actually beer? The drink, which originated in the mid-1700s in England, was first known as an alcoholic beverage made from sugar, ginger, water, and a starter culture known as the ginger beer plant. Today, the name ginger beer is bit of a misnomer. Almost all brands (save for a few, such as Crabbie's, a popular UK brand) sell ginger beer as a soft drink, meaning it doesn't contain any alcohol. Ginger beer has never even been made with hops or grains, so alcoholic ginger beer is actually closer to a hard cider or wine because of the fermentation process and sugar levels. But fear not - if you're tired of ordering vodka sodas at the bar, there's plenty of ways to add alcohol to ginger beer and make it your new go-to mixer of choice.

Burned Popcorn in the Microwave? Here's How You Can Get the Smell Out

Who doesn't love a hot, salty, crunchy bowl of popcorn fresh out of the microwave? Mmmmm, it's the best smell, wafting through your home as it pops. But once you're done, you've probably noticed the smell of popcorn can linger on your appliance for a long time. And if you burned it, forget about it - you'll be smelling that for weeks (months!).

According to design and home decor website Hunker (which aside from featuring genius home hacks also offers major interior decoration eye candy), there are a couple of things you can do to clean your microwave of the odor.

How to Use Vinegar to Clean a Microwave

Hunker suggests you fill a glass measuring cup with one cup of water and a few tablespoons of white vinegar, then microwave the mixture for 90 seconds (or until you see it start to boil). Leave the door closed for a few minutes, letting the steam collect in the microwave, and wipe down.

How to Use Lemon Water to Clean a Microwave

Pour 1/2 cup water into a glass container or bowl. Slice a lemon and squeeze the juice from it into the water, then place in the entire lemon. Microwave for 90 to 120 seconds, until the water begins to steam. Leave the door closed for a few minutes, letting the steam collect in the microwave, and wipe down.

What Does - and Does Not - Belong in the Dishwasher

Have you ever wondered what the best practices are for what should and should not be run through the dishwasher? Years of washing mind-boggling amounts of dishes - in the name of recipe testing, natch - have left us with strong opinions, some of which may even surprise you (see the "run through the dishwasher at your own risk" category). Read through the list, and you'll be armed with the knowledge to keep your dishes sparkling clean and undamaged. Bonus points go to those who forward it to less well-informed spouses and roommates . . .

Go For It

  • Basic ceramic plates, bowls, and mugs; check the manufacturer's recommendations when in doubt.
  • Stainless-steel and Pyrex mixing bowls; on the top rack so that they don't block water flow.
  • Pyrex and stoneware baking dishes; check the manufacturer's recommendations when in doubt.
  • Plastic and wood-composite cutting boards; check the manufacturer's recommendations when in doubt.
  • Kitchen shears, especially if you're using them to break down raw poultry.
  • Stainless-steel half-sheet pans, cooling racks, muffin tins, and other metal bakeware.
  • Kitchen sponges and scrub brushes; on the top rack only.
  • Silicone and metal kitchen utensils.
  • Measuring cups and spoons.
  • Stainless-steel flatware.

Don't Even Think About It

  • Heirloom, high-end, or particularly delicate china, glassware, and silver - anything you'd cry over breaking.
  • Wooden and bamboo cutting boards, tools, and utensils; high heat will warp and even crack wooden cookware.
  • Kitchen and steak knives, especially carbon steel; they'll lose their edge faster. (Wooden handles can warp, too.)
  • Cast-iron pots and pans; really, soap should never come in contact with cast iron.
  • Copper pots and pans; the metal will dent.
  • Enameled cast-iron pots and pans; the enamel can chip.
  • Pop-top pantry storage containers; the gasket may warp with repeated washings.

Run Through the Dishwasher at Your Own Risk

  • Nonstick pots and pans and bakeware; the nonstick finish will depreciate faster.
  • Stainless-steel pots and pans; make sure that any stuck-on food is soaked to loosen it up first and that they don't block water flow too much. Handles may loosen over time as well.
  • Travel coffee mugs and reusable water bottles; the seal may depreciate faster, but we put these in the dishwasher for convenience's sake. Some are even made to be dishwasher-safe.
  • Some insulated beverage cups; check the manufacturer's recommendations when in doubt.
  • Serrated/bread knives; this isn't best practice, but their edge is less damaged by dishwasher abuse than other kitchen knives, and these tend to be replaced more often as they're harder to sharpen anyway.
  • Wooden chopsticks; perpendicular to the grates that hold things in place on the top rack. They may swell or warp with repeated washings.
  • Inexpensive stemware; on the top rack only. Some breakage may happen, but isn't that why you bought it on the cheap?
  • Inexpensive wooden spoons and utensils; on the top rack (see inexpensive stemware).
  • Inexpensive glass and stoneware vases; on the top rack (see inexpensive stemware).

9 Tips For Preparing For (and Acing) That Job Interview

So you've passed the initial application stage and have secured an interview for a role you really want. Congratulations! But the hard part isn't over yet. You still need to ace the interview. And there's a lot to consider when it comes to job interviews, from wondering what questions will be asked to figuring out what to wear. Plus, it's as much about using it as an opportunity to find out if they're a good fit for you, as well as you being a good fit for them.

It's easy to feel nervous or overwhelmed, but an interview doesn't have to be a big, scary obstacle between you and your dream job. If you're prepared, motivated, and confident, you're already several steps closer to success. Here are some simple tips that will help alleviate your nerves, empower you as a professional, and make your interview a triumph.

  1. Do your research. Learn as much as you can about the company you'll be working for, what your role will entail, and who will be interviewing you. You'll feel much more confident after building a strong foundation of knowledge and won't be thrown off if you're questioned on your understanding of the company.
  2. Look back over your application. That's what helped secure you an interview after all. The interviewer might draw questions from or refer back to your application, so refresh your memory and identify ways you could elaborate on what you had initially submitted.
  3. Practice questions and answers. There are a range of ways you might do this: you might want to comb through common questions or you might prefer role-playing the interview process with a trusted friend or family member. Either way, anticipate what you might be asked and have strong answers prepared.
  4. Practice the route. It's not just important to plan what you're going to say at your interview, you need to know how you're going to get there! Whether you're driving, cycling, or traveling by public transport, going on a dummy run will help you plan the logistics of your journey and ensure you won't get lost. On the day itself, you can concentrate only on the task at hand and not worry about the route.
  5. Prepare your outfit. Yes, you want to wear something appropriate, but it's not just about what the clothes look like, it's how they make you feel. Choose an outfit that shows your personality in an appropriate way and makes you feel confident.
  6. Think positively. Practical preparations are important, but you also need to adopt a positive mindset. Meditation, positive playlists, and even visualization exercises can help you envision success. According to a study by The Journal of Consulting Psychology, visualization exercises make a big difference to a candidate's success, as 66 percent of the subjects who adopted these techniques were employed within two months. Choose a method that will aid your positive thinking and turn your hopes of success into a reality.
  7. Check your body language. From a smile to good posture, open body language communicates that you're approachable, confident, and capable of doing the job at hand. Make sure you practice techniques before your interview so that any positive habits you adopt feel natural in your body.
  8. Make healthy lifestyle choices. If you want to perform well at your interview, it's important that you take care of yourself. Eat healthy and nutritious foods and get some rest. That way, on the day of your interview, you'll feel fresh and energized instead of slow and sluggish.
  9. Warm up. On the day of the interview, make sure that you aren't going in cold. Stretch, go for a run, meditate - just channel your nerves physically. Even practice speaking aloud to warm up your voice so that when you greet the interviewer, you'll already sound calm and confident.

A First-Time Gorilla Mom Won't Stop Holding and Smiling at Her Baby, and the Photos Are Truly Tender

If you were to tell me that seeing photos of a first-time mama gorilla cuddling her newborn baby at a zoo would make my heart ache, I'd shake my head at you. I'd tell you it's cute, but that would be it for me.

But after seeing these photos of critically endangered western lowland gorilla Kafi holding her new baby and smiling, I think I'm a different person. According to the Dublin Zoo, Kafi delivered her first baby on April 1, and she is so enamored with her little one that she hasn't let her go. "To date, keepers at Dublin Zoo have been unable to determine the gender of the infant as Kafi has been keeping the baby close to her chest since the birth," the zoo's website said.

Helen Clarke-Bennett, team leader of the African Plains at Dublin Zoo, also commented that what Kafi is doing is wonderful for the baby. "Kafi is doing a fantastic job so far as a first-time mother, keeping the young baby physically close in these crucial early stages." And dad Bangui is doing a great job, too. "Bangui is proving to be an attentive father and at night has been sleeping close to Kafi and the baby."

Scroll through to see the photos of the new mama fawning over her little one, and try not to completely lose it in the process.

5-Ingredient Deviled Eggs With a Hint of Spice

My Secret to Making Amazing Chili? Adding Oatmeal

Chili is one of my favorite foods. Being from the Midwest (where there are many versions of chili), we had it all the time during the long Winter months. My mom's secret ingredient is canned green chiles. But as I've gotten older and started cooking it myself, I've experimented with perfecting my own recipe. And one thing I heard to add to chili is - wait for it - oatmeal.

I know what you're probably thinking - the breakfast staple in a dinner dish? Yes! It actually tastes amazing and gives chili even more texture. It also packs tons of extra nutritional benefits since it's a great source of fiber and is a much healthier option than adding things like flour or cornmeal for thickness. And if you want to make vegetarian chili, oatmeal is the perfect add in.

Related: Don't Have Any Buttermilk on Hand? Make Your Own With These 2 Simple Ingredients

I've seen different recipes with different amounts of oatmeal, but most call for half a cup per six servings. I tend to use between half a cup to one full cup of old-fashioned oats, and I just put it into the Crockpot with all of my other ingredients. The oatmeal definitely sucks up moisture in the chili, so sometimes I add in a little extra water.

While I like using old-fashioned oats, you can use any type of oat. "For steel cut oats, you'll want to cook them until most of the liquid is absorbed, then add in the remaining chili ingredients and proceed as usual," Adena Neglia, MS, RDN, CDN, of Brown and Medina Nutrition, told POPSUGAR. "For quick oats, you can add them right with the rest of the ingredients, but you'll want to start small as the oatmeal absorbs a lot of liquid."

If you're worried that it will taste like, well, oatmeal, I swear it doesn't. It's actually the opposite since the oats soak up the chili's flavor. I always feel like it leaves me with more servings of chili, along with leaving me more satiated than I would without the added oatmeal. Oatmeal in chili is the way to go. Case closed.
