And who doesn't want to take turns emptying the trash, right? If you're considering getting a roommate or need a little boost about your current roommate situation, here are a few reasons why it's pretty freakin' great.

The Best and Easiest Way to Store Ginger
Ginger has become a staple on our grocery list. It's good for health benefits, like in tea or soup, and it's delicious in meals, like in a stir-fry or salad. But after using ginger for some time, I discovered that it became difficult to keep the ginger root, which is usually sold in very large pieces, fresh for long periods of time. We never used the entire thing in one meal, and after a lot of trial and error, I found the best (and easiest) way to store ginger both before and after it is sliced: put it in the fridge.
First, I buy ginger root that's firm, smooth, and unwrinkled. Then I put it in an air-tight plastic bag, squeezing all of the extra air out of it, and place it into the crisper basket in our refrigerator. I've found that this works far better than simply placing the whole root inside the refrigerator without covering it at all or even leaving it on the kitchen counter. Covering within a plastic bag will allow it to stay fresh for weeks at a time and not dry out - until you peel it that is.
Once you peel the ginger root, its shelf-life drastically reduces. But blotting any wetness from the cut or peeled root with a paper towel and then placing it back into the same air-tight bag will preserve its freshness for longer. You may get one or two extra weeks out of the root after it's already been cut.

This Is Exactly What to Do If You Lose Your Passport in Another Country
No matter how many times I travel to a foreign country, I feel the same surge of excitement the moment the plane lands. Traveling abroad allows you to immerse yourself in a new culture that's entirely different from your own, and it's a (highly enjoyable) learning experience that can't be found in any classroom. But if there's one thing I've learned during my years of living and traveling abroad, it's to expect and be prepared for at least one (or five) things to go not as smoothly as planned. More often than not, hiccups are fairly minor and easy to handle, but losing your passport falls into the "time to freak out" category.
While it's easier said than done, try not to panic too much if your passport is lost or stolen during your trip. It doesn't mean you'll be trapped outside your home country indefinitely, sleeping on airport floors, and begging every TSA agent in sight to let you board your international flight using your driver's license as ID.
Prior to embarking on your trip, it's definitely worth it to take the simple step of photocopying your passport. Bring one copy with you and leave another another copy at home with a friend or family member. This documentation will make the process of obtaining a replacement passport quicker and easier. And once you're abroad, follow these steps:
- Report your passport missing as quickly as possible. As soon as you realize your passport is gone, contact your country's nearest embassy or consulate and report that it has either been lost or stolen. It will then be flagged and entered into the Consular Lost and Stolen Database - just keep in mind that this means if you find your passport, it's no longer valid for travel and you'll still need to move forward getting a replacement.
- Fill out the necessary paperwork for a replacement passport. You'll need to fill out two forms: a DS-64, which is an official report that your passport has been lost or stolen, and a DS-11, which is an application for a replacement passport. You'll also want to get a replacement passport photo taken; it'll expedite the process once you arrive at the embassy to get your new passport.
- Make an appointment at the embassy to get your replacement passport. Arrive to your appointment as prepared as possible. Bring your DS-64 and DS-11 forms, your new passport photo, some form of ID such as your driver's license, and (if you have one) a photocopy of your passport. It can also be helpful to bring information about your travel itinerary, such as flight and lodging details. The more information you can provide, the better.
- Tell the consular officer the date of your flight home. This is especially important if you lose your passport shortly before you're scheduled to leave the country. In that case, they'll help you get a limited validity emergency passport and you'll have to get a new full validity passport upon your return home. If your passport is lost or stolen early on in your trip, you can typically get a full validity passport which will be valid for ten years.
- Be prepared to pay for your replacement passport. Normal passport fees apply when you're obtaining a replacement passport. Adult renewals cost $140. If you don't have the funds to pay the fee, be prepared to provide the names of people who can assist you financially - and, of course, touch base with them in advance to make sure they're willing and able to give or lend you the money.
Dealing with a lost passport is undeniably a stressful hassle, but at the end of the day, you can rest assured that you'll make it home - and on the bright side, you'll have a good misadventure story to tell your friends.
This Fruity Pebbles Pretzel Rod Is One of the Most Popular Things at Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff
Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff at Disneyland's California Adventure is home to, well, a ton of sweet stuff, but one thing you can't miss is the Milk and Cereal Pretzel Rod. It's one of the most popular items to order at the quick-stop shop for obvious reasons, and there are four ingredients that make it irresistible: a salty pretzel rod, white chocolate, caramel, and Fruity Pebbles. It definitely bears resemblance to the other popular stick-shaped treat all over the Disney parks, but the crunchy pretzel rod is a fun, unexpected twist. People have been snagging this snack at Bing Bong's for months, so if you've yet to try it, add it to your list. Blogger Disney Hungry even has a copycat recipe that's easy to make at home if a Disneyland trip isn't in your near future. It's definitely one of the best things to eat at Pixar Pier.

The fun cereal has pink and blue crunchy pieces, and it's sure to be sugary enough to have for dessert. Between churro cereal, Sour Patch Kids cereal, and now this latest launch, breakfast has never been sweeter.
This Game of Thrones Jewelry Line Is Full of Lions and Direwolves and Dragons, Oh My
When you play the game of thrones, you must decide where your loyalties lie. Ahead of the season eight premiere, eco-conscious lifestyle brand Alex and Ani are encouraging Game of Thrones fans to wear their house pride on their sleeves, or wrists, in this case. The brand's new, limited-edition jewelry collection is inspired by the three most prominent houses of Westeros - House Stark, House Targaryen, and House Lannister - so it looks like Cersei and Daenerys won't be the only ones looking like royalty anymore.
The 18-piece collection features everything from expandable charm bracelets to gemstone necklaces inspired by the show's most iconic characters - of course, the Sansa bracelet is rose gold. Each handcrafted accessory ranges from $39 to $59 and represents the empowering values of the houses. "Unbowed, unbent, unbroken," as House Martell would say. While rings won't be available on the site until later this month, you can shop the fire and ice Alex and Ani collection ahead.
We Tried 10 Chocolate Easter Bunnies and Ranked Them, So You Don't Have To
Chocolate Easter bunnies, while adorable, are often more style than substance, and are perhaps best suited to those of the age who still believe in the critter after which they're modeled. Still, ever curious, we set out to tackle the somewhat-daunting task of sampling the gamut of options available to see if any could pass muster with our slightly more sophisticated palates.
To keep the playing field even, we stuck to milk chocolate bunnies available at our local Target - no dark chocolate, novel flavors, or fancy-pants mail-order bunnies need apply. Keep reading to find which bunny reigns (relatively) supreme; we'll start with our least favorite and go from there.
Travel to Cuba Without Leaving the Country With These Havana Club Cocktails
I'm not Cuban, I'm Dominican, but for some reason, Cuba has always spoken to me. The history, the music, the traditions, the food, the people. I find a lot of it to be very similar to Dominican Republic, and it's no secret that I will get Cuban food at least once a week. Some of the most influential teachers I had while growing up were also Cuban, and whenever I'm surrounded by Cubans it feels very similar to home.
I recently had the opportunity to go to Miami - as close to Cuba as you can get without leaving the US - and was able to enjoy a couple of days with Gio Gutierrez, Havana Club brand ambassador, a true Cubano who perfectly embodies the colorfulness, friendliness, and endless spark that defines Cubans. He showed me around Little Havana while we tried some delicious cocktails that best represent "La Perla de las Antillas."
All of these cocktails were carefully tasted and enjoyed by yours truly, and I'm sharing with you because they're so good I couldn't just keep them to myself. I hope your taste buds go on the most epic adventure once you try these concoctions, and that you find yourself moving your hips to the tune of a song while sipping on your drink!

Kourtney Kardashian's Bikinis Are So Sexy, We Don't Know What to Do With Ourselves
If there's one thing the Kardashian sisters know how to do, it's choosing a red-hot swimsuit. Kourtney Kardashian is slowly becoming the sister to watch when it comes to taking steamy bikinigrams. (Sorry, Kim!) The starlet has been living the good life since her break up with Scott Disick, vacationing in places like Egypt and Mexico with her boyfriend Younes Bendjima.
Kourtney has worn everything from a barely there black triangle bikini to an off-the-shoulder style that featured lace-up accents. The reality star also isn't afraid to switch things up by wearing risqué bikinis, too. 9 Jewelry Trends That Are Too Good to Get Over in 2019
Looking back at old pictures of myself, I can pinpoint the exact piece of jewelry I was obsessed with at any given time. Remember when you never took that stretch choker off, or the week you wore a silver ring on every single finger? Some trends come and go quickly, but some have staying power.
In 2019, for example, shells extend way beyond the beach and the Summer months. A few years ago, I could've never predicted that a pair of conch hoops would finish off an evening gown, but then again, I'm not complaining.
We're also excited to mix and match gemstone rainbow rings and pile on the camp bracelets this season, bringing a little more playfulness to our look. Ahead, scroll down to brush up on what's new and now, or jump ahead to the category you know you want to shop.

Every Question You've Ever Had About the Met Gala, Answered
We don't expect you to know that Vogue editor Anna Wintour has been cochairing the Met Gala since 1999, but you should absolutely know she's the woman behind the annual event, which always falls on the first Monday in May. And you don't need to know exactly how much money the ball raises for the Met's Costume Institute, but you should be aware that behind all the glitz and glamour on the red carpet, there's a curated exhibit for attendees (and eventually you) to enjoy.
But this year, Hollywood's elite won't be the only guests attending this high-profile event. Wintour has decided to open the Met's doors to the public, with tickets starting at $35,000 and tables ranging from a whopping $200,000 to $300,000, according to an article in The Hollywood Reporter. The theme - Camp: Notes on Fashion - explores exaggerated fashion, and will be cohosted by A-list stars including Serena Williams, Lady Gaga, and Harry Styles, with special guests like power couple Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez. Lil Dicky Drops Star-Studded "Earth" Video Featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Justin Bieber, and More
After days of teasing a cryptic video that flashed a ton of celebrity names, Lil Dicky dropped his new single "Earth" on Thursday night. The video features 30 of music's biggest names as animated animals, including Justin Bieber as a baboon, Ariana Grande as a zebra, and Ed Sheeran as a koala bear. While the concept may seem a little confusing at first, the 31-year-old rapper recently stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show and explained that the song is "all about saving the Earth" and raising awareness on the "environmental crisis going on right now."
All the proceeds from the video will go to Leonardo DiCaprio's foundation, which aims to protect endangered wildlife and threatened ecosystems and communities around the globe. In fact, Dicky actually went to DiCaprio's house to discuss the project beforehand and was impressed by how much knowledge he has on climate crisis. Check out the star-studded video above now!
Eva Mendes Describes What Falling in Love With Ryan Gosling Is Like, and Duh, We're Jealous
Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have been together for almost a decade (wow, how time flies!), and they have two beautiful daughters together, 4-year-old Esmeralda and 2-year-old Amada. However, before the 45-year-old actress met her 38-year-old beau, falling in love and starting a family was not on her agenda at the time. The mother of two currently graces the May cover of Women's Health, and in the accompanying interview, Eva briefly revealed that Ryan changed her whole outlook on having a family. "It was the furthest thing from my mind. Ryan Gosling happened. I mean, falling in love with him," she explained. "Then it made sense for me to have not kids, but his kids. It was very specific to him." Anyone else swooning?
Eva and Ryan first got together in 2011 after meeting on the set of their film The Place Beyond the Pines. Even though they're extremely private when it comes to their relationship, it's clear they're meant for each other.

Aidy Bryant on Life's Simple Pleasures: Vodka-Cranberries, Slippers, and . . . Hand Sanitizer?
Aidy Bryant describes herself as a "classic vodka-cranberry person," and yet, she's found herself making frilly cocktails for the after-work crowd on a Tuesday. The Saturday Night Live comedian and Shrill star recently surprised patrons of Extra Fancy in Brooklyn, NY, on April 16 to kick off Grey Goose's new Live Victoriously brand platform, which celebrates the joy in everyday moments.
"I live for a surprise," Aidy told POPSUGAR in an interview prior to the event. Though she was technically manning the bar, the happy hour also offered a fun night out for her. "Especially because I work so much, I think when you can make something fun happen it's worth it."
Aidy will have another chance to celebrate come Saturday night. Describing her post-SNL routine, "You do the show, you have all the adrenaline, and then you go straight to this party where we all get to drink and celebrate and let off a little steam. That's kind of the best," she said. "Then you sleep the whole day on Sunday and order some pizza. That's the dream."
While Aidy was slinging drinks in Brooklyn, her cast member Colin Jost was doing the same in Manhattan. In fact, the two were even sending each other pictures from their "dueling" happy hours to see who was having the most fun. (Jamie Foxx, by the way, was also a surprise bartender that evening at a hotel bar in Times Square.) Following her stint as a bartender, Aidy treated the crowd to some stand-up. "I love to do comedy, so I'll go anywhere and do it," she said.
"I just like little, simple stuff."
We can only imagine that after the event, Aidy went home to put on some slippers and . . . hand sanitizer? Allow her to explain: "I am big into slippers. Slippers are a good, cazh way to live around the house. I just like little, simple stuff." She added, "I know this is silly, but I have a hand sanitizer that I love. If I'm having a day of it, I will just use that hand sanitizer. I don't even know what it's called!"
Look ahead to see more from Aidy's fun night, which we can only assume included her signature vodka-cranberry: "That's what it's gotta be - gotta be Grey Goose, gotta live victoriously. That is kind of my drink of choice. I just like to keep it clean and simple."

Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx Can't Stop, Won't Stop Going on Cute Dates Together
Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are usually pretty private when it comes to their romance, but as of late, they seem to be getting more and more comfortable showing it off. On Tuesday, the couple were spotted on a sweet stroll around NYC. The 40-year-old actress kept things cool in a gray sweatsuit, while the 51-year-old actor looked stylish in a navy coat and distressed denim. Katie looked smitten as she flashed a few smiles and the duo held hands along the way.
Katie and Jamie have been together since 2013, however, their relationship was recently plagued by breakup rumors. Back in February, it was reported that the couple unexpectedly split, but they proved otherwise when they went for a casual stroll around Central Park in March. In fact, just last week, Jamie and Katie were seen on a fun family outing in LA with Jamie's 25-year-old daughter, Corinne. And judging by these latest pictures, Jamie and Katie certainly seem to be doing just fine!

The Magicians' Season Finale Missed the Mark on a Huge Mental Health Issue
Warning: Massive spoilers for the season four finale of The Magicians follow.
So. That just happened.
Over the course of four seasons, SyFy's fantasy drama The Magicians has gotten enormous praise, especially in recent years, for the way it's depicted the kinds of characters we don't usually see on TV, and even more rarely in genre TV. Nowhere was that more apparent than in the show's protagonist. Quentin Coldwater, played by Jason Ralph, appears at first to be your standard-issue Angsty White Dude - but, it turned out, is bisexual and a longtime sufferer of depression who's trodding that all-too-familiar road of one step forward, two steps back.
There's an odd sort of unspoken agreement between TV shows and viewers: shows tell you what to expect, and viewers keep their expectations in line. Because The Magicians was never a Game of Thrones-style tragedy, and because it handled all these issues of sexuality and trauma and mental health so well, it always seemed like this would finally be the show that would, ultimately, give hope to these damaged characters we've grown to love. That was, it seemed, the bargain it struck with viewers: we're the kind of show that won't take that step too far.
Then came the fourth season finale. Seriously, if you haven't watched it yet, this is where you should turn back.
"The promise of The Magicians has always been that the world is never what you think it's going to be and it's always going to be a struggle - but that there's light and hope too."
After a season-long quest to free Eliot, his friend-love-life partner in an alternate timeline, from an ancient monster possessing his body, Quentin and his friends succeed, but there's one last obstacle: trapping the Monster (and its sister) in a "seam" between worlds. When the seam is blocked by another enemy, Q uses his magic to mend it, knowing that his spell could have deadly consequences in this "mirror" dimension, and throws the Monster into it - but the magic does fracture and Q is killed (for real - Ralph is not returning next season).
It's what comes next, though, that really drives home how much The Magicians left behind its long-standing ideals and lessons. In the Underworld, Quentin has an "exit interview" where he asks a devastating question: "Did I do something brave to save my friends? Or did I finally find a way to kill myself?" And that's where things go even further sideways.
Q's suicidal ideation has been a part of his character for as long as the show has been on the air. It's real, it's rough, and it's always been depicted honestly, without maudlin falseness or glossing over. The promise of The Magicians has always been that the world is never what you think it's going to be and it's always going to be a struggle - but that there's light and hope too. It was the rare show that seemed to understand what it's like to live with mental illness and to find things worth living for. Until now.
The decision to kill off Quentin was rooted, according to executive producer John McNamara, in the idea that "it's kind of great that at last, the white male lead on a show is no longer safe," as he put it to The Hollywood Reporter. But there's more to it than that. In the same interview, McNamara draws a line between Q's death and finally realizing his life was worthwhile, as in, he had to die to realize that.
"It felt like the major question in his life is, 'Is my life truly worth living? Was it a good thing that I didn't succeed in killing myself at 15 or 18?' He now has that answer: he mattered to these other people, and their lives are never going to be the same for knowing him," he explained. To Vulture, he added, "There's a saying that a psychiatrist once said to me, which is that the subconscious always gets what it wants, and the conscious mind often never knows."
"To suggest that a kind, gentle, and, yes, depressed man only realizes his life is worthwhile after he dies, or that his journey had nowhere left to go? It's irresponsible and downright chilling."
It's an unexpected - and dangerous - misstep for a show that's always been so cognizant when dealing with issues of mental health. To suggest that a kind, gentle, and, yes, depressed man only realizes his life is worthwhile after he dies, or that his journey had nowhere left to go? It's irresponsible and downright chilling. There is always a journey left to make, and life is worthwhile while we're still living it. Piling on top of that: Q gets to watch his friends memorialize him around a bonfire and see how much they miss him, which is a popular element of real-life suicidal ideation (i.e. "I bet they'll miss me when I'm gone"). The sequence is exquisitely, realistically filmed and acted - which makes it all the more frightening, or borderline triggering, to real viewers.
To add insult to injury, the death in question is painted as a "white dude hero dies, isn't that innovative?" by many of the creators, but in fact, it falls into a trope that's decidedly not innovative at all: "bury your gays." Quentin is bisexual, having deeply loved both a woman and a man over the course of the show (and even living out a whole life as romantic partners with Eliot in an abandoned timeline), and much of the recent fourth season indicated that he and Eliot still had deep, lingering feelings (as praised in multiple think pieces at the time) - which will now never be explored, and which some now call a classic example of queerbaiting and/or queer tragedy.
The perfect storm of circumstances surrounding Quentin's death has turned what was once a funny, smart, emotional show for the misfits of the world into another show that turns those same misfits into tragedies. And make no mistake, by taking away the possibility of a happy ending - or implying that death is a happy ending - that's just what The Magicians has done. TV doesn't need more aesthetically pleasing tragedies. What it needs is more stories that remind us that the work of mental health is hard and treacherous and sometimes almost impossible, but that every single one of us is more than just a tragedy or "miracle cure" waiting to happen. The Magicians almost was that show - but it's not anymore, and that's a grief even bigger than losing a single character.
Read on to see how fans are reacting to Quentin's shocking demise and the fallout.
Holy Muscles! Is It Just Me, or Did Dwayne Johnson's Biceps Suddenly Get Way Bigger?
Dwayne Johnson may not be a WWE wrestler anymore, but he still knows how to "just bring it." The 46-year-old actor has been putting in work at the gym to prepare for Jumanji 3 and Hobbs and Shaw, and it definitely shows. Sure, Dwayne has always been fit (They don't call him The Rock for nothing!), but lately, his biceps seem to be begging to break out of his shirts, and don't even get me started on those abs! Anyone need to grate some cheese? See Dwayne's sexiest moments of 2019 ahead!
How the Death of 1 Game of Thrones Character Could Fulfill 2 Prophecies
Game of Thrones loves its prophecies, from the one about Cersei's death, to the one Varys heard as a child, to the many inscrutable predictions of Melisandre. However, there are two prophecies in Game of Thrones that may be more linked than we originally thought: the prophecy of Azor Ahai, and the prophecy given to Daenerys after the death of Khal Drogo.
In the mythology of Game of Thrones, Azor Ahai was a legendary hero that lived over five thousand years before the events that take place in the series. He fought against the darkness that lay over the world by forging Lightbringer, a flaming sword that he tempered with the blood of his beloved wife, whose soul merged with the sword, giving it its power. The prophecy of Azor Ahai states:
"There will come a day after a long Summer when the stars bleed and the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world. In this dread hour a warrior shall draw from the fire a burning sword. And that sword shall be Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes, and he who clasps it shall be Azor Ahai come again, and the darkness shall flee before him."
Melisandre elaborates on this prophecy by saying: "When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone."
"When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone."
The gist of the prophecy is that one day, during a time of great darkness, Azor Ahai will be born again, and together with Lightbringer, he will rid the world of that darkness once and for all. While fans have come up with numerous theories about which character on Game of Thrones may be Azor Ahai, one of the most popular theories is that it's Jon Snow, who seems to fit most of the criteria for being the resurrected hero.
What does that have to do with Khal Drogo? Well, when Drogo died back in season one, Mirri Maz Duur gave Daenerys another prophecy, stating: "When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. When your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child. Then he will return, and not before."
At first glance, this doesn't seem to have anything to do with the Azor Ahai prophecy, until you take into account the events of the season seven finale, during which Jon Snow and Daenerys consummate their attraction (during the same scene in which it's revealed that she's actually his aunt, in one of the show's more awkward narrative choices). While Dany believes she can't have children because of what Mirri Maz Duur told her, using the prophecies of a duplicitous blood witch as birth control seems a tad unreliable.
If Dany is pregnant with Jon Snow's baby, the birth of her child may actually wind up fulfilling both prophecies . . . but only if Daenerys dies in the process.
Let's look at the Mirri Maz Duur prophecy first. The first half of her predictions could be fulfilled during the upcoming episodes in any number of ways - perhaps a dragon soars across the sky from the west to the east, blazing so brightly that it lights up the night; or the army of the dead crosses over a "dry" frozen sea; or a mountain gets destroyed by dragon fire, so that its ashes blow like leaves. And while the second half of the prophecy may indeed refer to Dany becoming pregnant with a living child, its ending may be (and probably is, given the source) intentionally misleading. It's worded as though Drogo will return to the world of the living upon the birth of her child, but it could just as easily refer to Dany going to join him in the realm of the dead.
If Daenerys does die giving birth to her child with Jon, her death could also fulfill the Azor Ahai prophecy in an unexpected way. Historically, Lightbringer was a sword, but what if this time around, it's . . . a baby?
We've been told that "Winter is coming" since the first episode of the show, so the "day after a long Summer" likely refers to the time when the Night King and his undead army (aka "the cold breath of darkness") finally arrive in the Seven Kingdoms. And while the "stars bleed" portion of the prophecy is a little less clear, it is almost certainly meant to be taken figuratively, not literally.
Which begs the question: If the rest of the prophecy is figurative, why on earth would the part about a burning sword be literal?
"This would not only cement Jon as the second coming of Azor Ahai, but would also provide hope for the future in 'Lightbringer,' the child destined to bring lasting peace to Westeros.
Dany, who has proven herself impervious to fire, may in fact be the fire mentioned in the prophecy. When the "warrior" (Jon) draws the "burning sword" from the "fire" (Daenerys), that could be referring to him delivering their child, who is "burning" due to their Targaryen blood, and a "sword" because of their birth into a time of great conflict. This would not only cement Jon as the second coming of Azor Ahai, but would also provide hope for the future in "Lightbringer," the child destined to bring lasting peace to Westeros.
And really, if Daenerys is going to die, why not take the prophecy one step further? What if she actually loses her fire immunity and gives it to her child, who will then be recovered from the flames after Dany burns to ash? Perhaps the "cold breath of darkness" refers to the ice breath of Viserion, which will be used to incinerate his former "mother," leaving behind her fireproof offspring. Not only would that mean Jon would be plucking his "burning" baby out of a literal fire, but it would also mirror the fiery birth of Dany's dragon "children" back in season one - a fire she entered in order to be with Drogo.
We don't want Dany to die. The notion of Game of Thrones killing off one of its most powerful female characters in order to further a man's heroic arc is far from ideal, but there would certainly be a tragic symmetry to it. After all, Azor Ahai had to kill his wife in order to create Lightbringer, and Jon's mother died giving birth to him.
But if Queen Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lady of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, Lady of Dragonstone, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons is going to go, rest assured she's going to make her exit in the most dramatic fashion possible. And if she can fulfill a couple of world-changing prophecies on her way out, so much the better.
The 11 Most Important Encounters From the Game of Thrones Premiere - Ranked
The seventh season of Game of Thrones concluded dramatically, with the Night King blasting through the Wall using a newly undead Viserion. We've had to wait an agonizing two years to learn what happens following the game-changing events of "Beyond the Wall," but when we finally returned to Westeros, it was with a surprisingly subdued season eight premiere that was entirely absent of fiery confrontations. While we're sure we'll get to the shock-and-awe portion of the season soon enough, "Winterfell" seemed more concerned with setting the stage for the show's final act than with action and spectacle, packing its runtime full of first meetings and long-anticipated reunions that ran the gamut from heartfelt and emotional to tense, awkward, and downright hostile. Read on to see how we've ranked every dramatic encounter in "Winterfell," from the most resoundingly *womp womp* to the most emotionally satisfying.
We're Lowkey Very Invested in Lilly Singh and Liza Koshy's Friendship
When it comes to friendships between social media stars, it's hard to see where professional collaboration ends and real friendship begins. Ironically, it's usually the flashiest "friendships" that turn out to be all for the cameras. That's why we're big fans of YouTubers Lilly Singh (aka IISuperwomanII) and Liza Koshy. The duo have collaborated a few times since first meeting in 2016, but they're not constant presences on each other's feeds, instead appearing like the kind of friends you have in real life: not there every single day for every single selfie, but someone to have a great time with when you do catch up!
The two social media stars first met in 2016, according to Koshy's Instagram, when they both attended the premiere of Singh's YouTube Red documentary A Trip to Unicorn Island. Since then, they've worked together on a few projects for both of their channels. Singh has since made the moved to broadcast television, with the announcement that NBC is developing a late-night show for her, A Little Late with Lilly Singh, to replace the ending Last Call With Carson Daly. Koshy, meanwhile, has also moved into broadcast hosting, with gigs ranging from covering the Met Gala for Vogue to hosting the revival of MTV's iconic series Total Request Live. As both women move into new stages in their careers, take a look back at their best moments over the years!
