J Lo and Alex Rodriguez Make Their First Red Carpet Appearance Since Getting Engaged
By now it should come as no surprise that anytime Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez make an appearance, it's guaranteed to be sexy. However, I still wasn't prepared for what they had in store for us at the Met Gala. On Monday, my jaw instantly dropped when Jennifer arrived in a plunging silver Versace dress, which she completed with a matching headpiece. Alex, of course, looked equally handsome in his tux, and the two heated up the red carpet as they posed for photos together and linked up with pals Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Anyone else sweating? The fashion event also doubled as the couple's first red carpet together since getting engaged in March. If this is any indication of what their wedding is going to look like, we can't wait!
Serena Williams Looks So Radiant at the Met Gala, We're Calling Her "Sun-rena" From Now On
Serena Williams made a bright entrance at the Met Gala on Monday night. Clad in a neon yellow gown embroidered with leaves, the 37-year-old tennis star arrived to the NYC event with a big smile (perhaps having to do with her bestie Meghan Markle giving birth to Baby Sussex earlier that day) and posed for photos with husband Alexis Ohanian, with whom she shares 1-year-old daughter, Alexis.
Serena - who also served as one of the cochairs alongside Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele, Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour - further captured the theme, "Camp: Notes on Fashion," by completing her voluminous look with Nike high-top sneakers. View more photos of her night ahead!
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade Looked Like Edgy Royalty at the Met Gala
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade's daughter, Kaavia, is constantly serving looks on Instagram, but for Monday night's Met Gala, it was her parents' time to shine. During the biggest night in fashion, the stunning couple stuck to the "Camp: Notes on Fashion" theme with elaborate matching ensembles. They covered themselves in diamonds and embellishments from head to toe (literally), and Gabrielle topped things off with a pair of leather gloves. These two regularly show off their longtime love on social media, and while walking the red pink carpet, they could not keep their eyes off each other. Ahead, check out photos of the gorgeous couple at the 2019 Met Gala, then find out how Dwyane is enjoying life after his NBA retirement.
Sure, All the Fun Met Gala Looks Are Great, but Did You Catch Richard Madden's Smolder?
Lady Gaga whipped up not one but multiple looks, Katy Perry dressed as a chandelier, Zendaya basically put on an entire Cinderella skit, and yet as I tuned in to the Met Gala action, I still found myself staring instead at Richard Madden. Yes, he was wearing all black, so I should've been distracted by the kaleidoscope of color walking the red carpet, but, uh, did you catch his smoldering stare? The actor suited up for the stylish occasion, and while I'm tempted to feel a little bummed that he didn't lean more into this year's Met Gala theme, I can't really complain. Again, did you see that stare? Keep reading to see all the best pictures from Richard's Met Gala appearance, then peek at some of the hottest looks of the night.
Billy Porter Arrived at the Met Gala With 6 Shirtless Men, and His Entrance Is Giving Us Wings
Billy Porter knows how to make an entrance - after all, this is the same man who took the Oscars red carpet by storm earlier this year in a custom-made Christian Siriano tuxedo gown that put everyone else to shame.
But the Pose star and Broadway legend one-upped himself at the Met Gala on Monday as he arrived atop a velvet chaise being carried by. . . [counts on fingers] six handsome shirtless men in gold lamé pants. As one of the first stars on the red carpet for the camp-themed event, it's safe to say that Billy set the bar pretty high; and if that wasn't enough, he completely owned the carpet while showing off his ornate fringe jumpsuit and sequined wings. Keep scrolling to see Billy's insanely glamorous entrance, then check out more of the campy Met Gala looks!
Who Will Be the Godparents of Meghan and Harry's Baby? We Have Some Picks!
Image Source: Getty / Chris Jackson
Even though Prince William and Kate Middleton seem like obvious choices to serve as godparents for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's newborn baby boy, it isn't likely that either of them will receive the honor, despite how close the royal fab four have become. Royals generally only choose close friends and former staffers to serve as godparents, so even though royal children are given an average of six godparents, immediate family members still can't score one of those spots. Sorry, Will and Kate!
Related: Baby Sussex Is Here! Here's Where Meghan and Harry's Son Is in Line For the Throne
Not all family is barred from becoming godparents. Kate and William have appointed several cousins to be their children's godparents. One of Prince George's godparents is William's cousin Zara Tindall, and Princess Charlotte's godparents include Kate's cousin Adam Middleton and William's cousin Laura Fellowes. The most recent addition, Prince Louis, has Kate's cousin Lucy Middleton as one of his godparents. We know Harry and Meghan like to eschew royal tradition when it comes to PDA, and though we don't think they will be appointing family members for the role of godparents, it seems they might go against the norm in another way.

Even before Meghan's pregnancy was made public, the royal newlyweds visited close friends George and Amal Clooney at their Lake Como villa this Summer, where it was rumored that Meghan and Harry asked the A-listers to act as godparents for their future children. In return, George and Amal (who are already parents to 1-year-old twins) supposedly made Meghan and Harry promise to return the favor if they decided to have more.
But, as it turns out, the rumors aren't true. According to InStyle, George recently denied that he and Amal would bear the title as royal godparents, saying, "I'm a father of twins, I have enough sh*t to deal with - literally!" But we're sure George, Amal, Meghan, and Harry will remain a tight-knit group. In February, George defended Meghan during an interview with Who magazine, calling out the paparazzi for harassing the duchess. "She's a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it's history repeating itself," he said.
Even though we think George and Amal would make wonderful godparents, there are still some other worthy contenders. At the top of our list: Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian. We already know Meghan and Serena have a rock-solid friendship, and the tennis star even attended the royal's gorgeous baby shower in February. So, wouldn't making Serena and Alexis the godparents make perfect sense?
Other favorites we have in the running include Meghan's stylist and BFF, Jessica Mulroney, and her husband, Ben, as well as Benita Litt - Meghan's longtime friend who appointed the duchess as godmother of her own children - and her beau, Darren. We'll hopefully get confirmation on who will be baby Sussex's godparents soon!
Do We Have Time to Discuss Ezra Miller's Met Gala Debut? It's Important
I'll just come right out and say it: Ezra Miller was born for the Met Gala, so his debut on May 6 was extra special. The 26-year-old actor isn't shy about his love for over-the-top style (uh, remember when he walked a red carpet dressed as Hedwig?), and the "Camp: Notes on Fashion" event in NYC was right up his alley.
Ezra teamed up with Burberry Creative Director Riccardo Tisci for his truly unique outfit. He held a mask to hide his face and wore a full cape, but underneath, he revealed a pinstripe suit with a dramatic train and jeweled corset. However, the real "eye-catcher" (pun very much intended) came from the five eyes painted on his face. A little spooky? Hmm, perhaps. A little genius? Absolutely. Keep reading to see more of Ezra's daring look. We hope to see his singular sense of style at many Met Galas in the future.
Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre Make One Sexy Pair During First Met Gala as a Married Couple
Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre had that newlywed glow as they attended the Met Gala on Monday. The couple, who tied the knot on April 26 in Marrakesh, Morocco, looked absolutely stunning as they walked the red carpet hand in hand. While the 46-year-old English actor looked dapper in a colorful jacket, his bride really took our breath away as she rocked a fitted blush pink dress and matching hair. Seriously, Idris and Sabrina make one sexy couple!
Is That the Emerald City?! Nope, It's Just Ciara on the Met Gala Red Carpet
The theme of the 2019 Met Gala is "Camp: Notes on Fashion," and boy, did the celebs in attendance deliver! Among the most unforgettable looks of the night was Ciara's; she strutted the red carpet in an outfit that had onlookers green with envy. The singer rocked an emerald-green gown, embellished with tons of shimmery detailing, a thigh-high slit, and geometric cutouts on the torso. Heightening the drama factor even further, Ciara's gown featured a train made of matching green feathers, and she added a matching choker and fingerless gloves, plus a sky-high Afro.
The green gown was actually Ciara's second look of the night. When she first arrived, she rocked a more low-key but equally glam black pantsuit, twerking on the red carpet with Big Freedia before heading off to change into her showstopping dress for the main event. You can check out all the different views of Ciara's dress in the gallery ahead!
We Knew Lady Gaga's Met Gala Appearance Would Be Epic, and Yep, She Did THAT
When we found out that Lady Gaga would be hosting this year's Met Gala alongside Harry Styles, Serena Williams, and Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele, we knew it would be epic - and we were right! On Monday, Mother Monster kicked off fashion's biggest night by strutting down the famous stairs of NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art not once, but four different times. The 33-year-old - who was accompanied by designer Brandon Maxwell - first showed up in a pink parachute gown and then removed it to reveal a black dress underneath. But she wasn't done yet! From there, Gaga changed into a hot pink silk dress with a giant telephone in hand before ultimately stripping down to a black sequined bra, underwear, and sheer tights. Given that Gaga has been hitting up the Met Gala since 2015, it's no surprise that she nailed the camp theme! Anyone else think we should rename the Met Gala to Met Gaga?
Hm, What's That? I Couldn't Hear You Over Janelle Monáe's Outstanding Met Gala Look
Monday night's Met Gala was chock-full of stunning looks. But perhaps one of the most striking ensembles was brought to us by Janelle Monáe. The 33-year-old singer attended the NYC event sporting a colorblock, structured gown featuring a deconstructed face with a rather gorgeous detail: a blinking eye with feather lashes. The UglyDolls star further embraced the theme, "Camp: Notes on Fashion," with a stack of four top hats. She then struck a few poses to accentuate the playfully voluminous dress. Janelle always manages to serve gorgeous looks on the red carpet, but this might be one of the most dazzling outfits yet. Eye see you, Janelle! (*wink, wink*)
We Are More Than Prepared to Take a Long Nap in Cardi B's Extravagant Met Gala Gown
We all know Cardi B knows how to bring high drama and glamour, but at Monday night's Met Gala, she also brought the high fashion. The 26-year-old rapper clearly took the camp theme very seriously, with a deliciously dramatic ensemble. Cardi struck a pose in a long-sleeved, high-necked dark red gown with beaded detailing, feathered sleeves, and a truly massive train that trailed behind her as she walked the carpet. She topped off the look with a matching choker, gloves, and a headpiece that completely covered her hair.
The look was decidedly more covered up than her more recent looks, which have bared her impressively toned postbaby abs, but it's no less stunning! Cardi always brings it, and she definitely embraced the campy theme of the night. Read through for more stunning pics of Cardi's look.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Are Smitten at the Met Gala
Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra arrived to the Met Gala in New York City on Monday night looking like a true power couple. While Nick rocked a suave all-white ensemble, Priyanka really embraced the theme, "Camp: Notes on Fashion," with a silver gown and feathery cape. To top off the look, she rocked a tall crown fit for a queen.
Their appearance came less than a week after Nick performed at the Billboard Music Awards with his brothers and gave Priyanka a sweet little smooch during the fiery set. And of course, he performed one of the Jonas Brothers' latest singles, "Sucker" - which Priyanka probably enjoyed, considering her special feature in the song's music video. Between their red carpet appearances and adorable social media moments, they sure know how to make us swoon!
How Lana Condor Got Ready For Her First Met Gala
Lana Condor got ready for her first Met Gala with a team of glam experts and gave POPSUGAR an exclusive peek at how her campy beauty look was achieved. To start off, makeup artist Anton Khachaturian asked Condor to use a Talika Bio Enzymes Hydrating Mask ($12) the morning of the event. When it was time to prep her skin for makeup, Khachaturian chose Eye Therapy Patches ($9) and Photo Hydra Day Intense Moisturizing Face Cream ($45). He stressed the importance of having hydrated skin as a base for makeup. "Proper moisturizing and having a perfectly prepped canvas definitely helps and is my main component for lasting makeup," he said.
Because Condor's dress was already so over the top, Khachaturian kept her makeup simple and fun. "I wanted to keep her makeup fresh and beautiful. I used a razor-thin liner and [pink eye shadow] on top to boost the campiness while still keeping the look chic," he said. To make the eyes really pop, Khachaturian layered on Lashify lashes. "I did four clusters on the outside and then two clusters of [a shorter lash] on the inside," he said. "After doing one layer, I doubled everything up!"
Check out the behind-the-scenes photos ahead, as well as Condor's final look.
Lupita Nyong'o Rocks Drag-Inspired Makeup and a Meaningful Afro-Pick Crown at the Met Gala
Lupita Nyong'o did not hold back on this year's Met Gala theme, and she looked completely stunning. Color, glitter, drama - she brought it all. The actress wore a rainbow Versace gown and amplified the dress even more with her over-the-top hair and makeup. Celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose created her look and explained the drag inspiration behind it. "For the Met Gala Camp theme tonight, we drew inspiration from camp icon Divine from some of my favorite John Waters movies," he said in a press release. You might know Harris Glenn Milstead, aka Divine, from movies including Hairspray and Pink Flamingos.
"We played up the brows and eyes by super exaggerating it and making it look a lot larger and almost cartoonish. The key is to keep it graphic with strong black liner and long feathery lashes," Barose said. He used products from Lashify, including C Gossamer lashes in sizes 10, 12, and 14. For Nyong'o's makeup, Barose used a plethora of Lancome products, including Prep and Matte Primer, Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long-Wear Foundation, and L'Absolu Lacquer Gloss in the shade Not Afraid.
Celebrity hairstylist Vernon Francois styled Nyong'o's hair, which was accessorized with a crown of gold Afro picks that Francois and his team hand-painted for the event. He shared a behind-the-scenes look on Instagram and explained the meaning behind the tiny fists you'll spot on the combs. "The raised fist logo represent unity, solidarity. Also known as Black Power," he wrote. It's not until you see photos of Nyong'o from the back that you realize her hair was studded with stars, too.
It's all in the details. See photos of the Us star's stunning look ahead.
Lili Reinhart Wore a Bouquet of Flowers on Her Head to the Met Gala, and Now We Want to, Too
We've seen a lot of showstopping hair looks on the Met Gala pink carpet thus far, including a head full of mini bows from the iconic Lady Gaga and a Gucci rhinestone ponytail from Ashley Graham. Adding to the list of double-take-worthy hairstyles is the pretty pink orchid-filled hairstyle from Lili Reinhart. Created by celebrity hairstylist David Stanwell for Dove, the look was aptly deemed the "Lili Marie" - an ode to former Queen of France Marie Antoinette's elaborate hairstyles.
"Planning Lili's look the last few weeks alongside her and the other stylists has been incredibly collaborative, and the look we've crafted is to die for," Stanwell said in a press release. "The inspiration for Lili's look is Marie Antoinette meets Versailles, which plays off her epic Ferragamo dress. To match the vibe of the dress and play on the Marie Antoinette look, we swept hair up into a fabulous updo with intricate flowers for an absolutely gorgeous overall look."
To build up the height of Reinhart's hair, Stanwell used Dove Style+Care Compressed Micro Mist Extra Hold Hairspray. "It's important to prep the foundation of the hair so strands don't fall out throughout the night or lose the Versailles effect we were going for," he said. "I brought all hair to the crown of the head where I pinned the hair high up top to build the shape." For the final touch, he intricately pinned orchids around the side of her head for an "added wow moment."
To get the look at home (perhaps with loose curls or a casual updo), we encourage you to take a trip to your nearest flower shop for an on-trend, celeb-approved style. Ahead, scroll through for all of the floral hair inspo you could ever need - and if you're looking for us, we're at our local bodega.
Janelle Monáe's Hair Was the Highlight of the Met Gala, Don't @ Me
Janelle Monáe only slays red (and, in this case, pink) carpets, so we're not surprised that her Met Gala hair was a delightful surprise. The "Make Me Feel" singer carefully donned four teetering hats, but the look only got better once she turned around. The moment - created by Monáe's longtime hairstylist Nikki Nelms - featured a knee-length braided ponytail decorated with pop-out, red cutout kisses and a gem-encrusted clip - a fresh take on the hair accessory trend.
This isn't the first time Monáe has rocked a full-length braid, but we swear, they get better every time. To get the look, Nelms employed a few beloved beauty products, Maui Moisture's Coconut Milk line and a GHD flat iron, to help create the textured, pulled-back look.
Keep reading see her hair from every angle via a few behind-the-scenes snaps.
We Can't Even Tell You What Ciara Is Wearing at the Met Gala Because OMG, Her HAIR
Ciara is never one to shy away from a statement red carpet moment. (In fact, she made waves at the Billboard Music Awards with her son, Future Zahir Wilburn, just last week.) But for this year's Met Gala, she truly went balls to the wall with a giant Afro reminiscent of Diana Ross circa her days in The Supremes. The 'fro towered over her head and made its way to halfway down her back, forming a gorgeously curly halo around her face and shoulders. The Afro was pinned back away from her face with two bedazzled and tasseled hair clips, right on trend with the popular hair accessories that made appearances on the carpet tonight.
Though her hair was definitely the statement of the outfit, her dress certainly did not disappoint. Her emerald green beaded Dundas gown featured flashy cutouts around her midriff, as well as a thigh-high slit and flowing feathered train. She looked so stunning, I'd be surprised if she didn't make every single best dressed list this year.
Elle Fanning's Met Gala Manicure Is Unlike Anything We've Ever Seen
Have you ever seen anything more Campy than Elle Fanning's dangle acrylic nail charms at the 2019 Met Gala? Serving up major I Dream of Jeannie vibes, Fanning was fully committed to the theme. Let's take a closer look at this manicure, shall we?
Celebrity manicurist Mar Y Sol created the standout nail look using Strike a Rose - a neon hot pink shade from Essie's Summer 2019 collection - as the base, and bedazzled each finger with a different charm. Click through to see her mani, which features a retro turquoise phone, Bubble Yum package, yellow Coors can, french fries and even - drum roll, please - a tub of Colgate toothpaste.

Lucy Boynton's Pastel Teal Hair Has Us Wondering If She Flew Out of FernGully Just For the Met Gala
Lucy Boynton is relatively new to red carpets, but she has made quite an impression on fashion-lovers everywhere. From her bold graphic eyeliner choices, sparkling decals on her face, and statement headdresses, she's definitely a red carpet force to be reckoned with.
Par for the course, her look for this year's Met Gala absolutely did not disappoint. She arrived in a dreamy, flowy Prada gown adorned with feathers, sequins, and sparkly bling. But the cherry on top of the outfit was her newly dyed pastel teal hair - which perfectly complemented the feathers on her dress - topped by a bedazzled flower crown. Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist Jenny Cho waved her hair with a flat iron for an effortlessly tousled curl that didn't look too put together, but still beautiful and chic for a red carpet.
Though the entire getup is quite romantic, it is a far departure from her normally elegant and simple red carpet looks, making it quite campy for her. I'm definitely hoping that she decides to keep her hair this dusty blue for awhile. IRL camp or not, it's undeniably gorgeous on her.
Darren Criss's Met Gala Makeup Makes Him the Harlequin of Our Hearts
There are few red carpet looks that really make us feel things - and at the Met Gala 2019 tonight, Darren Criss did just this. Channeling the Harlequin character of Commedia dell'Arte, Criss not only stunned in his multicolored checkered blazer, he carried a campy makeup look that seriously made us stop and stare.
His cobalt blue bottom lash eyeliner extends from under his eyes to a winged-out triangle on each temple - accentuating the angular lines of his face and making his brown eyes really pop. Better yet, the blue liner is blended out to create a cool, gradient wing on each side and is balanced out by a single burgundy line on his lower lip. This nod to the Italian character is of course nostalgic to theater, trickery, and the jester in us all - pretty apropos to the Camp theme. See the full makeup look up close, ahead.
Kylie Jenner Decided That Kris Jenner Would Be Blond at the Met Gala
Kris Jenner just revealed that she makes some of her major beauty decisions with the help of her daughter Kylie. The momager wore a platinum blond wig on the Met Gala red carpet as well as a glitter-packed cobalt blue eye shadow that matched her dress. She told E! News that the decision to go blond was last minute: "A couple of hours ago, Kylie decided I was going to be blond," Jenner said.
Considering that the younger Jenner is a beauty mogul, she was smart to listen to her daughter. The wig definitely brightened up her beauty look and made her blue eye makeup pop.
Check out her look, ahead.
Madelaine Petsch Channels the OG Cheryl Blossom With Bangs at the Met Gala
The hairstyle changes were aplenty at this year's Met Gala. Kris Jenner looked almost unrecognizable in a blond bob wig, per daughter Kylie's suggestion. Mindy Kaling traded in her natural brunette hair for a blond, wavy style. And Madelaine Petsch debuted quite the unexpected switch-up: bangs.
The actress, who rarely alters her luscious, middle-parted hair, showed off her full, straight-across bangs while walking the pink carpet in an ethereal teal dress. Though we're unable to confirm whether they're real or not, we have an inkling Petsch's bangs are a nod to the fact that her Riverdale character, Cheryl Blossom, has bangs in the Archie Comics that inspired the CW series. Ahead, admire Petsch's new look - along with her dreamy pink eye shadow and matching lipstick - from all angles.
Mindy Kaling's Rose Gold Hair at the Met Gala Left Her Shimmering From Head to Toe
This year's Met Gala theme is "Camp: Notes on Fashion," which means everyone in attendance has been encouraged to go completely over the top, and we haven't been disappointed. As much as it's about the gorgeous gowns and outrageous coats, Mindy Kaling reminded us that it's also about the hair as she debuted her platinum blond waves with subtle rose gold highlights, and we are in love with the Ocean's 8 vibes it's giving us.
Her long, golden hair was the perfect complement to her shimmery gold dress and absolutely embodied camp. From Lady Gaga's mile-long eyelashes to Harry Styles's tribute to "Girl With the Pearl Earring," celebrities have truly taken the theme to heart this year. Keep reading to see Kaling's hair shine on the pink carpet.
The $9 Beauty Product Miley Cyrus Wore to the Met Gala
We're no strangers to Miley Cyrus's edgy looks, and it's no surprise her Met Gala nails are totally on brand. The singer rocked a bold, black mani in an angular shape - and the best part is that you can totally copy her look.
The nail color in question is Essie's iconic Licorice shade, a creamy jet black you can pick up at your local drugstore for a mere $9.
Cyrus's manicurist Lisa Jachno chose the color and shape to "correlate with her structured, YSL look." She finished off the manicure with Essie Gel Setter Top Coat for a high shine finish. See the look before and on the carpet ahead.
Stop What You're Doing and Take a Peek at Harry Styles's Mismatched Red Carpet Mani
Calling all nail art enthusiasts and Harry Styles fans far and wide: the singer-songwriter just debuted mismatched blue nail polish on the red carpet and this stuff belongs in the "saved" folder of your Instagram feed.
To be clear, this isn't Styles's first time wearing nail polish (in fact, he's been doing so for a long time) and obviously, this is the type of gender-defying beauty content the world needs. The 25-year-old has never been about abiding gender stereotypes - and why should he, especially when the outcome is a look this good? The Met Gala-ready manicure consists of turquoise and dark blue nail polish, paired with an array of fancy-looking rings, for a final ensemble we're looking to covet immediately.
So what are you waiting for? Grab two of your favorite nail polish shades and paint them on during Met Gala commercials. And if you need any more convincing, check out the following photos for inspo.
Liza Koshy's Met Gala Hair Looks Even Better From the Back
YouTube star and actress Liza Koshy arrived on the Met Gala red carpet with a ponytail that was out of this world. Her long hair landed at the bottom of her back, and almost the entire length was wrapped with silver wire. The ends of her curly hair peeked out the bottom, and her baby hairs were gelled on the sides on her face.
Koshy also wore vivid purple eye shadow and a peach lip to complement her pink ensemble.
Check out her look from every angle, ahead.
Ashley Graham's Met Gala Look Just Took the Hair Accessory Trend to a New Level
According to Ashley Graham and her camp-inspired Met Gala 2019 hair look, you can never, ever have too many hair accessories. While Lady Gaga's oversize pink hair bow and collection of real mini hair bows was a hard look to follow, Graham certainly brought it.
What does it entail, you ask? Well, how about a pearl-wrapped ponytail, complete with more rhinestone-encrusted Jennifer Behr bobby pins than we could possibly count, two that read "Gucci," and an oversize red bow? With celebrity hairstylist Justine Marjan as the mastermind behind the perfectly on-trend 'do, we'd expect nothing less. Please hold while we recreate this campy pony at home.
Lady Gaga's Hair Bow Is Cool From the Front, but Wait Until You See What's Underneath
When it comes to Lady Gaga, we always expect the unexpected, and as the cochair of this year's Met Gala - with a camp theme, nonetheless - we knew we were in for something big. When unwrapping her massive pink hair bow on the carpet tonight, we braced ourselves, and then smiled at the dozens of minuscule bows scattered about. Each bow detail is made from what looks like her own blond hair and feels familiar - like something she might have worn back in 2008.
A seeming homage to her "Poker Face" days, her mini-bow style exemplifies camp at its finest. It is quite the nod to her theatrical, rhinestone sunglasses roots - one that has us wanting to belt out "Just Dance" at the top of our lungs. See her hair from every angle, ahead.
Do Lady Gaga's Eyes Work Out? Because They Have to Be STRONG to Hold Up Those Lashes
Oh, you thought Lady Gaga would be a cochair of the Met Gala and not commit to the theme 1,000 percent? This day was made for her. She changed red carpet outfits faster than you could finish singing "Shallow," but her absolutely insane eyelashes were the biggest star of her look. A wide-eyed Gaga strolled through the red carpet and showed off gold, thick, spikey lashes that look like they could be six inches long.
Hopefully fellow attendees cleared the path for Gaga not only so she could make the dramatic entrance she deserves, but also because those things look sharp. Prepare to be mesmerized by the photos of Lady Gaga and her luxurious lashes ahead. She's the queen of camp.
Did Lady Gaga Just Pull a Beauty First on the Met Gala Red Carpet?
What did you expect? Lady Gaga blew everyone away on the 2019 Met Gala red carpet with not one, not two, but four jaw-dropping outfits. Gaga was dressed by Brandon Maxwell for her turn as one of the gala's cochairs, and if you've seen anything Gaga has ever done in her life, you know she's not going to leave the theatrics at home.
From the homage to the start of her career with the tiny hair bows to a cell phone filled with lipstick, she embodied the camp theme to perfection. But did she pull off a beauty first on the carpet? Fake tans and extravagant headpieces have already been done, but we're talking about bringing a few special people to the carpet with her - her Haus of Gaga glam squad.
On hand to help with her lips, powder her face, and zhoosh her hair were Gaga's longtime makeup artist Sarah Tanno and her longtime hairstylist Frederic Aspiras. Perhaps we just witnessed a first when it comes to bringing a few plus-ones to the event, but hey, Gaga is a cochair, after all.
Keep reading to see Gaga get glammed on the 2019 Met Gala red carpet.
These Small Celebrity Hair Changes Prove That Even a Trim Can Make All The Difference
You don't have to look far to see some of the most dramatic celebrity haircuts of the year so far. From Jamie Lee Curtis's white hair to Ashley Tisdale's Pink bob, 2019 has certainly been a year for big changes. But among the daring celebrities are those that choose a more subtle approach to switching up their style. That doesn't mean they make any less of an impact, though. With established signature styles, celebrities like Priyanka Chopra and Reese Witherspoon prefer to take a less-is-more approach when they visit the salon and take it easy when it comes to hair changes.
Within this group, there are a few people for whom this is about more than personal preference: the British royal family. There are a few unwritten rules that they tend to abide by. We know that Princess Diana purposefully made tiny hair changes as opposed to major hair transformations so that the public and press wouldn't notice. This was to ensure that her beauty look didn't detract too much attention away from the work she was doing, often with charities close to her heart. Her hairstylist Richard Dalton previously said, "we had to do it one-fourth of an inch at a time over several weeks." It seems Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are following in her footsteps. Although they play with plenty of hairstyles and makeup looks, their haircuts are much more subtle.
Ahead, get a closer look at all of the celebrities that prefer to take the subtle route with their trims, including our favorite royals. These stars prove that, sometimes, it's not all about the major transformations.

This Is Why Kim Kardashian Cried After Her First Met Gala Appearance
Kim Kardashian is known for being mindful of her appearance, and the pressure to look her best after the 2013 Met Gala caught up to her. Feeling nostalgic, today she tweeted photo sets from her appearances at the event, including her first, when she was pregnant with daughter North West and wore a floral long-sleeved Givenchy gown.
Kardashian was the plus-one of then-boyfriend (now husband) Kanye West and admitted that she felt like nobody actually wanted her there and that she did her own lipstick for the evening. She ended up in tears at the end of the night because of "insecurity," but ultimately this recollection has a happy ending.
"Year 1 - 2013 Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy. I was Kanye's plus one & so nervous! I didn't know anyone & I'm sure no one wanted me there lol. I did my own lipstick & the color is so off. I went home & cried after of insecurity but this is one of my fave looks now," she said.

We actually love the berry lip here but are curious what she - or even her go-to makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic - would choose instead.
Kardashian will attend her seventh Met Gala this evening, and although reports are speculating that her and Kanye's baby boy has been born, she put those rumors to rest. "Wait just saw news our baby boy came but that's not true! It's Met Monday, I'm in NYC. I would be at the hospital lol," she said.
Will Smith Gave "Friend Like Me" a Hip-Hop Makeover, and I'm Loving the Fresh Prince Flair
Will Smith may not be the first actor to portray Aladdin's Genie, but he's certainly adding his own flair to the role. The 50-year-old actor stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on May 6 to talk about the live-action Disney remake, and the big shoes left by Robin Williams that Smith tried to fill.
Smith admitted that at first, he hesitated to play Genie after Williams's legacy. "Robin Williams smashed that role," he told Fallon. "When you look at things like that, you always try to find what would you do differently . . what would you add to that? I looked at it and I didn't feel like I wanted to touch it."
However, after spending time with the directors and getting to know the character, Smith decided to give Genie another chance. He put a personal spin on the role, and even gave the Tonight Show audience a taste. Watch the video above to hear Smith's hip-hop take on the beloved song "Friend Like Me." If the Genie met The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the result would sound something like this.
This Year's Met Gala Was More Over-the-Top Than Ever - See Over 150 of the Best Photos
The Met Gala calls on the biggest stars from the worlds of film, music, fashion, and more to converge in NYC and show us their most outrageous ensembles. This year, the theme was "Camp: Notes on Fashion," and while some stars appropriately went all out with the kitschy, over-the-top theme (we're lookin' at you, Katy Perry), others kept things slinkier and sexier on the red carpet.
As one of the event's cochairs, Lady Gaga got things started with not one but four fun looks, while Pose's Billy Porter arrived on the shoulders of not one but six shirtless men - only the Met Gala, right? Couples like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West and Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen showed off sweet PDA, while Zendaya had a Cinderella moment and Jared Leto carried his own head around (yes, really).
Inside, it was just as exciting, with lots of mixing and mingling between the well-dressed guests. Kim and Jennifer Lopez compared backsides, Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx shook hands with Cardi B, and Tiffany Haddish may have been snacking on the chicken she brought in her purse - it's unclear. Keep reading for over 150 of the most glamorous, fun-filled photos from this year's Met Gala.
Harry Styles, the Boy With the Pearl Earring, Made His Met Gala Debut in a Glam All-Black Look
Harry Styles made his Met Gala debut on Monday in NYC, as a cohost no less! The 25-year-old singer walked the red carpet at The Metropolitan Museum of Art alongside Alessandro Michele, the creative director of Gucci and another cohost for the "Camp: Notes on Fashion"-themed event. Harry wore an all-black Gucci outfit, with a sheer ruffle blouse, a single pearl earring, multicolored panted nails, and the highest high-waisted trousers we've ever seen.
Harry's kept a relatively low profile since wrapping up his tour in 2018, although he did make a brief appearance back in March to sing with Stevie Nicks at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Hopefully his fashionable step back into the limelight means more red carpet appearances in the near future. Ahead, see more snaps from Harry's glam night out at his first Met Gala.
Prince Harry Will Follow in Prince William's Steps and Take Paternity Leave
With just a few short weeks until Meghan Markle is expected to give birth, Prince Harry and the rest of the royal family are getting ready to welcome Baby Sussex into the family. As Meghan has stepped out of the spotlight the second half of March ahead of her April due date, Prince Harry is also making changes to his schedule to prepare for daddy duties. According to Us Weekly, Prince Harry will be taking paternity leave.
"It's a modern thing. Prince William did it for his children and Harry's going to do it for his, when his child is born," the queen's former press spokesman said. "The older generation didn't do it. The older generation just got on with it. But it's a new thing. People do it. . . . [The length] depends on him. I would have thought no more than about two or three weeks."
The royal couple have yet to announce if they're having a boy or girl, but Meghan has said that they plan to raise their child as a feminist, regardless of its gender. It's also reported that Prince Harry and Meghan "plan to raise their child with a fluid approach to gender and they won't be imposing any stereotypes." Whether Baby Sussex is a boy or girl, we can't wait to see Meghan and Harry as parents!
Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx's Met Gala Outing Might Be Their Most High-Profile Date Night Yet
Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have been getting more comfortable showing off their romance this year, and on Monday, they stepped out for what might just be their most high-profile date night yet! Katie and Jamie both attended the star-studded Met Gala, and even though they didn't hit the red carpet together, they made sure to stick together inside. The 40-year-old actress looked radiant in a gorgeous purple gown, while Jamie cut a suave figure in a black suit and sunglasses. The couple kept the PDA to a minimum as Jamie wrapped his arm around Katie and they chatted with Cardi B. Katie and Jamie have been dating since 2013, and we love seeing how happy they make each other!
Aww! Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott Return to the Place Where They Made Their Red Carpet Debut
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott turned the Met Gala into date night when they stepped out together on Monday. The couple - who recently celebrated the rapper's 28th birthday - stuck to the fashion event's camp theme as Kylie donned a lavender feathered dress and Travis opted for a military-inspired look. The Met Gala likely holds a special place in Kylie and Travis's hearts, as it's where the pair made their red carpet debut as a couple in 2018. Also in attendance were Kylie's family, including Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Kendall Jenner, and Kris Jenner. See more of Kylie and Travis's night ahead!

Hello, Mattel? I Need a Kacey Musgraves Doll After Seeing Her Barbie-Inspired Met Gala Look
Ever wonder what a Kacey Musgraves Barbie would look like? I have. And at Monday's Met Gala, the country queen nailed the evening's camp theme with her rendition of the equally iconic Barbie doll, arriving in her own hot pink Mustang.
Kacey covered up her signature long dark locks with a blond wig and strolled the red carpet wearing a hot pink leather dress with a matching stole and blow-dryer-shaped purse. The Golden Hour singer teased her look on Instagram earlier in the day, sharing a series of snaps featuring miniature sunglasses (just like the ones Kacey wore on the red carpet). Along with stars like Harry Styles and Liam Hemsworth, this is Kacey's first time attending the Met Gala, and damn, did she make a flawless first impression. Keep reading for all the photos from Kacey's big night - and Mattel, you can take my money now.
Camila Mendes's Met Gala Gown Took Our Breath Away, and It Came With a Lovely Surprise
Camila Mendes looked radiant on the Met Gala red carpet and was accompanied by her Riverdale costar and real-life boyfriend, Charles Melton. Camila wore a gorgeous gown by Prabal Gurung that featured a bright yellow bodice and a feathered skirt that elegantly cascaded behind her.
The outfit came with a romantic twist - a giant blue bow that cinched her waist and trailed behind her in a dramatic train at the back. With the yellow and blue color scheme, we couldn't help but wonder if Camila was channeling her inner Belle from Beauty and the Beast? Make sure to check out the gorgeous photos from every angle.
Of Course, Kim Kardashian Brought the Sexy to the Met Gala - Did You Expect Anything Less?
When it comes to the Met Gala, Kim Kardashian knows how to bring the sexy, and this year was no different. On Monday, the 38-year-old reality TV star channeled her idol Sophia Loren when she stepped out for fashion's biggest night at NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art with husband Kanye West. Clad in a figure-hugging beige dress, Kim paid homage to the iconic actress's character from her 1957 film Boy on a Dolphin. She even nailed the wet hair look! Kim also posted two photos of Sophia on Twitter, writing, "Mood 💦💦💦." Kanye, on the other hand, kept things simple in all black and made sure to stay by his wife's side throughout the night. Once inside, Kim linked up with her sisters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, as well as pals Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez.
Kim and Kanye are currently expecting their fourth child via surrogate. Earlier in the day, it was reported that their baby boy had already arrived, but Kim later shot down the reports on Twitter. "That's not true! It's Met Monday, I'm in NYC. I would be at the hospital lol," she wrote. Could you imagine sharing a birthday with baby Sussex?
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas Wore Matching Louis Vuitton Outfits - Talk About Couple Goals!
If there's one couple I ship right now, it's Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas. After getting married in a surprise wedding in Las Vegas, the couple walked their first red carpet at the Met Gala. For their big moment, Sophie and Joe decided to take their relationship to the next level by wearing matching outfits. After all, they say couples who wear matching outfits stay together forever, or something like that?
The Game of Thrones starlet wore a geometric-print jumpsuit by Louis Vuitton by Nicolas Ghesquière. Joe, on the other hand, wore the same print but on a turtleneck shirt and finished his look with trousers. Scroll on to see their amazing his and hers outfits ahead.
Katy Perry Is a Whole Snack at the Met Gala - in More Ways Than One
Katy Perry is going camping, y'all. The 34-year-old American Idol judge stepped onto the Met Gala scene in New York on Monday in probably the most HGTV-esque look of the night. She quite literally lit up the red carpet by dressing as a full-blown chandelier - yes, a chandelier - from head to toe and truly embraced the theme "Camp: Notes on Fashion." The singer - who recently got engaged to Orlando Bloom - playfully posed with the chained, 3D structure as cameras captured the breathtaking moment.
After making her way into the event, Katy changed into a delicious getup, rocking a giant hamburger costume. But this wasn't your average Big Mac. Katy was serving up a top-notch sirloin with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. It was pretty reminiscent of her hilarious Flaming Hot Cheeto Halloween costume. It's safe to say she loves food . . . and dressing up as food. And if there's anyone who can pull off such outlandish outfits, it's Katy.
Zoë Kravitz's Sexy Met Gala Gown Will Break Your Heart and Keep You Begging For More
Zoë Kravitz could major in sexy Met Gala dresses, with her flawless track record. The Big Little Lies actress arrived at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC on May 6, all dressed up in a sultry, eye-catching Saint Laurent number.
The all-black sequined gown might appear demure from the back, but the front is all about the skin-baring cutouts. Zoë tied the look together with dangling statement pearl earrings and layered silver bracelets, letting the dress do most of the talking. While her look was definitely subtler than some of the other "Camp: Notes on Fashion"-themed looks we've seen, it certainly added some heat to the red carpet. Keep reading to see more angles of Zoë's daring choice ahead.
