Twitter Is Torn Over What to Call This Classic Childhood Treat - Otter Pops? Zooper Doopers?
One of the greatest joys of my childhood was coming inside after a hot Summer day spent running through the sprinkler in the backyard and indulging in one (or two) of these mouth-staining frozen treats. There was just something inexplicably satisfying about tearing off that little plastic end - which would inevitably end up on the floor later - and crunching my way through the taste of plastic and ice to get to the frozen juice (aka the best part) at the bottom.
Even though I haven't had an Otter Pop in years, I remember that every flavor was amazing in its own right (*cough* - green was the best) and seeing one always takes me on a little blast to the past. And if you ask me, calling an Otter Pop an Ice Pop or Flavor Ice is like calling an Oreo a cream-filled sandwich cookie. So, imagine my surprise when Twitter clued me in on the fact that some people call them Zooper Doopers (in Australia), Icy Poles, or Freezy Pops! Apparently, I wasn't the only one caught by surprise. Keep reading to see all the fun names this classic frozen snack has all around the world and which flavors rank above the rest.
Latte-Flavored Oreo Thins Are on Shelves, and OMG, Where Have These Been All My Life?!
Oreo has released many a wacky flavor in its day, which is why it's pretty crazy to think that one of the brand's newest flavors hasn't existed until now. Latte-flavored Oreo Thins were first announced in April and have officially hit shelves, which means that you'll now see your obsession with coffee and cookies married into one. The new cookies are made with a latte-flavored creme sandwiched between two thin and crispy Oreo cookie wafers. Instead of limited roll-out, the cookies will actually be a permanent part of Oreo's extensive lineup. Some eagle-eyed Oreo fans have already spotted these in stores, so prepare to search for them and satisfy your craving ASAP!

Ben & Jerry's Plans to Release CBD-Infused Ice Cream to Help You Chill Out in Every Way
For an ice cream company, Ben & Jerry's always manages to be at the forefront of cultural shifts and trends. The latest one it's tackling? CBD. Ben & Jerry's just announced plans to offer ice cream infused with CBD, or cannabidiol, once it's federally legalized. "We're doing this for our fans," CEO Matthew McCarthy said in a press statement. "We aspire to love our fans more than they love us and we want to give them what they're looking for in a fun, Ben & Jerry's way."
Though it differs from marijuana and does not contain THC, the compound which makes people high, CBD still isn't considered a controlled substance at the federal level. The Food and Drug Administration also currently has restrictions on CBD-infused food and beverages. That being said, the FDA will be holding a hearing on May 31 to explore a path to legalization.

If that does all happen, Ben & Jerry's said it plans on using CBD sourced from its home state of Vermont for the sweet treat. Though Ben & Jerry's has yet to announce any potential flavors or additional details, if its famously inventive pints are any indication, we're in for a chill treat in more ways than one.
Good Stuff: Homemade Rosemary Infused Oil
Rosemary is a hearty plant, and when it takes hold, it produces a bountiful crop of fragrant branches. If you find yourself with more than you know what to do with this Summer, then try making homemade infused oil that can be used for scenting your home or for a relaxing bath. This easy DIY costs basically nothing to make with results perfect for giving as a gift or using when making eco-friendly cleaning supplies.
Read on for the directions.
What You'll Need:
- 1 cup rosemary
- 2 cups oil
- Slow cooker
- Strainer
- Bowl
- Small sealable glass container
Directions:
- Start by removing the rosemary leaves from the stem, and measure one cup to use for making the infused oil.
- You can use any type of oil, but a high-temperature low-scent oil is best, such as sunflower or safflower oil. The oil acts as a carrier to the rosemary, creating the fragrant and healthful results. Measure and add two cups of the oil to the slow cooker. Don't have one? Place the rosemary in a small glass jar and cover with the oil, sealing the top.
- Set your slow cooker to low, and let warm for six hours. While it's simmering, you'll get a sample of how wonderful the infused oil is going to smell! Or place the rosemary- and oil-filled glass on a sunny windowsill and let steep for at least a week.
- Allow the warm oil to cool in the slow cooker for an hour, and then strain over a bowl.
- Pour the finished rosemary infused oil in a small glass container, and it's ready to use.
Not sure what to do with that rosemary infused oil? Drizzle a bit into a hot bath, massage into dry hair, or place in a warmer and let the scent infuse your home.

Disney's Citrus Swirl Mouse Ears Are the Only Ones We Care About Right Now, Thanks
Disney just introduced a new pair of mouse ears, and they're our favorite kind: inspired by food! Several parks have started selling the new Citrus Swirl Mickey Ears Hat, which features patterned ears, a teeny tropical drink umbrella, and a swirl of Disney's classic orange ice cream treat in the center. It's adorable, clearly.
The summery accessory has already been spotted at Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs, the Polynesian Village Resort, and more. It's also expected to make its way to Disneyland soon, according to WDW News Today. Check out more cute photos of the ears ahead, and get ready to feel all the tropical vibes.
The Disney Princesses Look Impossibly Chic Reimagined as Modern-Day Fashionistas
Princess Belle's voluminous yellow dress. Cinderella's blue ballgown and matching gloves. Princess Jasmine's teal two-piece set. Each of the Disney princesses has their own signature outfits we've come to know and love, but have you ever imagined them wearing something a tad more, er, modern? Russian artist Anastasia Kosyanova does just that, giving female Disney movie characters a contemporary wardrobe makeover.
Using a digital illustration app called Procreate on her iPad, Anastasia redraws the Disney princesses in chic clothes that are a far cry from their movie outfits, matching each one with a high-end fashion brand like Moschino, Valentino, and Gucci. Anastasia told POPSUGAR she loved cartoons as a child and went to art school at the age of 8 to pursue her passion for drawing. Now 28, she shares her artwork - both Disney-related and not - on her Instagram account, which has garnered more than 100,000 followers to date.
Ahead, take a look at how trendy and fashion-forward the Disney princesses and other Disney movie characters look after being reimagined by Anastasia. You'll want to copy every stylish outfit IRL!
Tokyo Disneyland Has Mickey-Shaped Eggs, and Our Brains Are Scrambled
There's no doubt about it - when it comes to Disney dishes, there's no limit to how creative they can get. Case in point: the Mickey-shaped egg in the curry rice at Tokyo Disneyland! The adorable dish is available at Plazma Ray's Diner, a futuristic eatery found inside Tokyo Disneyland that specializes in rice bowls, Mickey glove-shaped sandwiches, desserts, and more. The egg, which has a yolk in the shape of Mickey's silhouette, is served on a bed of delicious curry rice and vegetables and can have meat added to it as well.
Between this and other new Disney park treats like the Rapunzel-inspired Tangled eclair and Aladdin's magic carpet cupcakes, we're going to need an extra long vacation just to eat them all.
Yep, You Can Drink the Same Blue Milk as Luke Skywalker at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
What does blue milk taste like? Star Wars fans know Luke Skywalker has a special affinity for the stuff, dating back to A New Hope, but the appeal has been unknown to most viewers for years. Well, wonder no longer, galactic foodies!
Disneyland park visitors can try Blue and Green Milk at the Milk Stand in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge starting May 31. Culinary Director Brian Piasecki told POPSUGAR he went down a "plant-based" road with the drinks since "the idea of drinking real milk in 95- to 100-degree weather is probably not something most people want to do" in California or Florida.
The brand-new beverages are a frozen blend of coconut and rice milk, plus some fruity accents and supersweet flavors, with Green Milk delivering a bit more zing - it comes from a different intergalactic creature, after all. It's not quite a milkshake and not quite a smoothie, but if you're in the mood for a (supersweet) frozen concoction on a hot Summer park day, stop by The Milk Stand in Disneyland on May 31 and in Disney World on Aug. 29.

20 Beautiful Garden Plants That Are Also Edible
There are so many reasons to take up gardening, it's no wonder it's become a popular Summer hobby for millennials. Surrounding yourself with greenery can help reduce stress, and toiling in the soil can even be a good way to exercise. And who doesn't love to see plants grow from seed to seedlings to healthy full-grown plants, all as a result of our hard work? But there's another reason we can all get behind gardening: growing plants that you can eat.
There's something so satisfying about being able to whip up a salad using your own homegrown greens, or using your own herbs as the finishing touch to an elaborate meal served at a dinner party. Plus, if you have children or just want to make your outdoor space friendlier for nieces, nephews, children of friends, or neighbors, filling your backyard or patio with digestible flora is an easy way to do that.
When it comes to edible plants, fruits and vegetables are the obvious place to start. But successful gardening is all about variety, and in addition to a fruit and vegetable garden, there's a world of herbs and edible flowers that you can plant as well. These plants are all ideal for having a garden that's both beautiful and fit for human consumption.

How Aflac's Shannon Watkins Became a Badass Business Leader by Being Fearless
You probably know Aflac from its commercials - you know, the ones featuring a duck that says "Aflac" instead of quacking? Yes, that one! But do you actually know how Aflac works? No? Well, meet Shannon Watkins. She's the vice president of brand and creative services, and she's spearheading the new "Aflac Isn't" campaign to educate and connect with consumers on what the supplemental insurance company, well, isn't. In short, Aflac "gives you cash to help with expenses that health insurance doesn't cover like deductibles and copayments," but a lot of people might not know that.
As a female business leader with nearly 20 years of experience, Shannon has developed marketing initiatives for major corporations like Coco-Cola, Pepsi, Kraft, and Procter & Gamble. Through Aflac's new partnership with music festivals, POPSUGAR recently got the chance to chat with Shannon at Napa Valley's BottleRock music festival about her impressive career journey and how she powers her happy. Honestly, we could all learn a thing or two from her.
POPSUGAR: Given your almost 20 years in marketing and experience working for huge companies, your role as Aflac's vice president of brand and creative services sounds like the perfect fit. What does a day in your life look like?
Shannon Watkins: No day is the same. If I think about my overall job, it's to really bring our brand promise to life. On the brand side, it's all about the consumer, and on the creative services side, our client is really B to B [business to business]. I'm working with agencies all day, I'm thinking about strategy, and I'm really the leader of that brand promise work. I'm wearing two hats all day. I'm constantly talking to [Aflac President] Teresa White about our plans and vision and what we're doing actively every day all the way down to talking to a designer on my team and giving art direction on a project. I'm constantly changing my orientation based on the project at hand.
PS: What project are you most proud of?
SW: Since being at Aflac, it's been the campaign. When I came in, and quite honestly when I interviewed at Aflac, [CEO] Daniel P. Amos asked me a lot, "What are your plans for the Aflac duck?" And I'm like, "We aren't getting rid of this Aflac duck." He brought us to the party and we have to make sure we celebrate the Aflac duck and all that it means.
PS: What is the most rewarding part about your job? What do you look forward to the most?
SW: A lot of times, people give you a role and the role is in a box - it's in a perfect box. And the answers are yes, no, right, or wrong, and that's the norm. What I love about what I get to do every day is pushing the boundaries of those norms. Who said it had to be like this? Why are we doing this? Constantly pushing [myself] to ask difficult questions to turn that box into a circle. Once we broaden our thinking and what we're doing and how we reach consumers in ways that are relevant for today, that's how we change, that's how we become a part of culture, that's how we make our brand more meaningful and valuable, and that's the part I love about my job.
PS: It sounds like you're pretty busy. How do you balance your personal life with work? What is your form of self-care?
SW: When I was at Coke, we did a partnership with Deepak Chopra's daughter, Mallika, and I really started to get into meditation and the art of quiet, so that's become very important for me. I also try to make sure that at least one morning of every week, I'm not in the office or not in the same environment and just try to get more creative, spark different thinking, and tie business opportunities and challenges together. You need to make sure you're staying fresh and focused, and a lot of the time, I do that outside of the office.
PS: I know that you attended both Fisk University and Indiana University. Can you tell me about your first few years after college and what your job search was like?
SW: I have a very nontraditional path to this role. I didn't say as a little girl that I wanted to be a marketer. I actually wanted to be a doctor. I was a biology pre-med at Fisk. I learned a lot, it was very challenging, and we had to take anatomy physiology and I literally had a weak stomach the entire class. So at that moment, I was like, "Well, I got to find a different career path." I did an internship at Washington State University in soil and atmospheric sciences. What I thought I liked about the job was the science part, but what I came to realize is that I actually loved taking insights and turning them into simple strategies to be able to act. That was my lightbulb moment of, "OK, there's something here that I really enjoy." I came back to Fisk for my senior year and Procter & Gamble was on campus recruiting, so I took the test, interviewed, and got the job. I was a product research associate and I had some great mentors that were in the brand community that let me tag along on TV shoots and it really motivated me to go back to school, get my MBA, and do brand as a profession.
PS: Was there ever a moment when you were like, "OK, I've made it"?
SW: There are two different moments for me that stand out. On the work side, I had my "aha" moment when I was working on Powerade and there was no one else that knew more about what was going on than me and I had to make the calls. My "aha" moment was that you don't have to be perfect and you're going to make mistakes, but you need to be confident enough to be able to lean in and lead. Around people, my "aha" moment came when an old boss called me back to work for her. For me that was like, "OK, you've seen the good, the bad, the hits, and the misses, and you still trust me to work for you and to lead a business on your team." I may not always get it right, and it may be not perfect, but people are trusting me enough to lead.
PS: What are some of the most valuable lessons you've learned from working for such huge corporations?
SW: The most valuable lesson for me is to to make sure you go to a place - whether it's a big company, small company, for-profit, nonprofit - where you fit within the standard deviation from a cultural perspective, because the people make the culture. If you can fit in the culture, then you will win. I've left jobs for money, I've worked at a lot of different places, so culture for me is the biggest thing. Number two is really making sure you go to an organization where your leadership is really going to support you personally and professionally because everybody sees support differently. Those are the two biggest things for me as I look at the journey that I've been on. Over time you get to know what fits and what's most important to you.
PS: What advice do you have for young women who are just beginning to carve their own paths in the world?
SW: Be fearless because you only get one chance. As I've approached my career, I haven't approached it from a position of, "What if I fail?" It's more like, "What can I learn from this experience that's going to make me better?," and believing that I could every step of the way.
This DIY Concoction Will Remove Any Red Wine Stain - I Promise
For over a decade, I had a white couch. And it stayed white, despite parties that saw dark beer, chocolate, and red wine spilled all over it in seemingly endless bids to stain it. My first line of defense was that it was slipcovered, so I would just throw it in the wash anytime one of the aforementioned culprits spilled on it, or when it needed a touch-up. Of course, those dark materials don't usually just wash out without some extra help - and my favorite magic mixture has been what I use for red wine stains.
Years ago, I spilled wine on a new, cream-colored shirt. On some random message board, I found the suggestion: mix one part Dawn liquid soap with one part hydrogen peroxide (this was a long time ago, so I'm fairly sure I Ask Jeeves'd it, but I digress). I really wanted that shirt to survive, so I tried it - and to my shock, every trace of red wine was gone. Since then, I've used this concoction what feels like hundreds of times and always had success with it. I've been passing it to anyone in need, so now it's your turn. Here's how you do it:
- Mix one part Dawn liquid soap with one part hydrogen peroxide. This is specific intentionally! Don't use another soap. Make sure you get the blue stuff. And the size of your stain should dictate how much you should make, but as a starting point, I usually do about a half cup to a half cup.
- Pour the mixture over the stain. Just liberally take a spoon and drizzle it over the stain like it's chocolate fudge. Cover the edges with the stuff. The best way to treat a stain is always immediately, but the truth is, I've let a stain or two simmer overnight because I was "busy." Therefore, I know this stuff works after a stain has had a chance to take hold overnight, but I wouldn't push it much past that.
- Let it sit. Overnight is the ideal amount of time.
- Put through the wash. Now, put your stained-and-mixtured garment in the washing machine and wash and dry as usual.
- Enjoy your clean things! And your wine.

We're Thinking Out Loud About How Impressive Ed Sheeran's Net Worth Is
It's easy to forget that Ed Sheeran has only been on the music scene for less than a decade, given how ubiquitous his music and presence are. Since his first album + debuted back in 2011, Ed has become one of the most popular and recognizable artists in the music world. As you might suspect, his finances have soared along with his success, but did you know he's just hit a couple of major milestones?
The Independent reports that Ed has recently surpassed Adele as the 17th richest musician in the UK, with an estimated net worth of £160 million (approximately $202 million in US dollars). He also is reported to be the wealthiest young musician in the UK, beating out Adele again as well as all members of One Direction.
Ed hasn't just increased his wealth - he's literally doubled his net worth in the span of the past year alone. The 28-year-old singer has been on a world tour, which reportedly grossed over £340 million ($429.44 million) in ticket sales. Although it has not been officially confirmed, the Independent reports that this income may be a record for the highest single-year earnings of any artist in music history. The Daily Mail reports that it's possible he'll wrap his Divide tour with sales between £550 million and £600 million.
In 2018, Forbes put him in ninth place on its annual list of top celebrity earners, reporting his personal income as over $110 million that year alone; he was the highest-paid solo musician on the list. The vast majority of that income comes from his tour and solo music sales, although there are a few other sources of income as well. Ed has made well-publicized guest appearances on The Simpsons and Game of Thrones and recently released a collaboration with Justin Bieber, "I Don't Care." With his popularity only increasing, it's predicted that he may be a billionaire before his 30th birthday - a fairytale story for a guy who started out busking on the street!
64 Spirit-Lifting Songs From She's Gotta Have It Season 2
She's Gotta Have It returned for a second season on Netflix this month, and it couldn't have dropped at a better time. The only thing more thrilling than following Nola Darling through her Summer of self-discovery is doing so with a musical backdrop of Stevie Wonder, Madonna, Meshell Ndegeocello, Frank Ocean, and a lot of Prince.
Much like season one, each episode features both current and nostalgic songs that span genres, and the music does an incredible job of capturing Nola's joy, heartbreak, and self-reflection. Director Spike Lee even did us all a solid by sharing tracklists from each episode via Instagram, which we've rounded up for you here. Scroll through for the best tunes from season two.
This Shouldn't Come as a Surprise, but the Teen Cast of Summer Night Aren't Actually Teens
It's no secret that the actors who play teens on screen are rarely teens themselves (we're looking at you, cast of 13 Reasons Why), and the cast of the upcoming flick Summer Night are no exception. The coming-of-age film follows two best friends on the night leading up to their performance at a local music venue called The Alamo, and the film's "teen" stars range from 21 all the way up to 30 (though to be honest, they all play teens pretty convincingly). Want to know how old these actors actually are? Check out the gallery to learn the real ages of the cast.
Aaron Paul Isn't the Only New Addition to Westworld - Here's the Whole Season 3 Cast
Westworld won't return until 2020, but the recently released season three trailer has definitely whet our appetites for when it does. The trailer teases what almost looks like an entirely new series, with Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) out in the real world and Aaron Paul's mysterious new thief character narrating about his disdain for society and how if he is to keep going, he needs to find something real - cut to him finding a wounded Dolores in an alleyway. The Westworld creators are naturally being rather tight-lipped about the third season, but we do have a few juicy tidbits about the returning cast and new faces. Here is a guide to what we know about the upcoming installment's cast.
We're Totally Buggin' Over All the Good '90s Movies on Netflix Right Now
Ah, the '90s - a bad time to be a pair of eyebrows and the best time to be a moviegoer. Action movies were awesome, comedies were silly but still laugh-out-loud funny, and the rom-com was at its pinnacle (though Netflix is thankfully bringing the classic rom-com back!). It was a time when covering your bedroom walls with posters of your favorite stars was still cool and when going to movie theaters was still a thing people did. Lucky for us, there are plenty of '90s movies available to stream on Netflix that we can watch from the comfort of our own homes. Read on to see 22 of the best.

Apparently, Elton John Emails Taron Egerton Reviews of Rocketman Every Day
With Rocketman about to blast into theaters, the movie's star, Taron Egerton, has been sharing some secrets not only from behind the scenes of the movie itself but also from the star-studded Cannes premiere. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Egerton discussed what it was like for him and the film's director, Dexter Fletcher, to watch the reactions from the real-life inspirations behind the movie, as they watched it for the first time alongside the cast. Taron sweetly explains how Elton John and his writing partner Bernie Taupin reacted to the movie, from grabbing each other's knees to Elton "blubbing" at the end of the film. Clearly a huge fan of the movie, Elton's also taken to emailing Egerton daily updates with reviews . . . even though the actor's been trying to avoid them. Egerton also describes what it's like to visit Elton's home (spoiler: there are a lot of cats) and reveals the sweet words of encouragement the singer gave him on the day of the premiere. Watch for yourself above, before the movie is released on May 31.

A Game of Thrones Cruise Exists, and I'm SO Ready to Sip Cocktails in King's Landing
Arya sails away from the Seven Kingdoms in the Game of Thrones series finale, but for one lucky fan, it looks like the waters of Westeros might just lead right back to where it all began. In honor of the show's emotion-packed ending, a cruise line is hosting a competition to win a spot on a Game of Thrones-inspired trip! All you have to do to secure a spot on board the Westeros- and Essos-bound yacht - which is way cooler than the Iron Fleet, BTW - is answer one simple question: Which Game of Thrones characters are you and your friends most like?
The competition, fit for Starks and Lannisters alike, is hosted by Cruise Croatia, and the trip includes seven nights aboard a yacht. The winner of the contest will travel to some of the most scenic Game of Thrones filming locations in Croatia, including Split and Dubrovnik. So, want to embrace your inner Khaleesi? Kick back and relax with some cocktails on the island of Hvar. Feeling more adventurous? Visit the Krka National Park and its Instagram-worthy waterfalls. At the end of the trip, you can even enjoy a farewell party in King's Landing itself.
The cruise departs from Split, Croatia on August 8, 2020 and will dock in Dubrovnik, Croatia on August 15, 2020. Only one winner and the three most loyal members of their royal council will get to experience the Thrones-themed adventure. Entries will be accepted until midnight on June 9, 2019, so embrace your inner Samwell Tarly and write like you mean it, then check out the cruise line's website for more details about the dragon-sized trip of a lifetime.

It's all part of mourning what once was and moving on. Mandy Moore Glows at the Foot of Everest - Everything to Know About Her Base Camp Hike
For those of you who haven't been stalking Mandy Moore's Instagram as closely as I have for the past couple of weeks, the 35-year-old This Is Us actress has some exciting news: she's officially completed her 10-day hike to Mount Everest Base Camp.
Mandy is an avid hiker, and she's checked adventure after adventure off her bucket list over the past year, from summiting Mount Kilimanjaro last April to trekking through Chile earlier in the year and New Zealand just last month. Check out her Instagram Stories of the excursions - you won't be disappointed.
Everest is in a class of its own, though, and just hiking to Base Camp at the foot of the mountain is a serious challenge, covering 40 miles one way and rising over 18,000 feet in elevation. (Read this amazing firsthand account of how hard the trek actually is.) "This trip has only just started but my soul is already forever changed," Mandy wrote in one post, a few days into the hike. "The power and energy contained in these mountains is humbling, to say the least."
She shared that she went into the trip "relatively blind" on purpose. "Not unprepared, mind you . . . but I wanted to venture forward into the unknown with an open mind and heart and as free of expectations as possible," learning about the customs and culture of the local Sherpa people and taking in the breathtaking (literally) landscape.
Of course, the trip wasn't just a bucket list check mark for Mandy. She completed the excursion with The Juniper Fund, an organization that gives financial support, job training, and grants to the families of local workers who are killed working in the Himalayas. And the hike was led by Melissa Arnot, cofounder of the fund, six-time Everest climber, the first American woman to successfully summit and descend the peak without supplemental oxygen, and Mandy's self-described "girl crush." (They met in the Winter of 2018. "I happen to think it was love or at least unbridled admiration at first sight," Mandy wrote. "I immediately confided in her my deep desire to travel and climb mountains together.")
For Mandy, the hike was a learning experience from start to finish, during which she mastered skills like breathing at high altitude ("It's essentially a big inhale and a sharp, forceful exhale, like you're blowing out a candle across the room") and mental focus and agility while in the "pain cave" that comes with endless exercise in harsh conditions. "I dug deep while in the midst of all of those pressure breaths and made a mental list of things that scared me but I was anxious to tackle," Mandy wrote in her most recent post. "Now that I'm back on solid ground, I can't wait to [go] home and get to it."
And we can't wait to hear what adventure she takes on next. Check out Mandy's start-to-finish photos of the incredible experience and read her empowering, thoughtful words ahead. (Fingers crossed we get to hear more about her epic hikes at POPSUGAR Play/Ground in June.) And if you're feeling inspired to take on this excursion yourself, or are simply as utterly fascinated as I am, read these 32 essential Everest Base Camp tips from an editor who completed the trip herself.
Is Being Anxious Before Your Wedding a Bad Sign? Here's What the Experts Have to Say
If you're about to walk down the aisle, you're probably feeling some butterflies and jitters due to excitement and anticipation. Or, if you're more of a nervous type, you might be a little uneasy about having all eyes on you, potentially tripping over your dress, and having the food come out wrong. Stress, worry, and anxiety before your big day are all normal, but could it ever be a red flag that something isn't quite right? We spoke to a few experts to see what they had to say, so just take a deep breath and keep reading.
Is Prewedding Anxiety Normal?
In short? Yeah, it is. "Anxiety - because you're ready to participate in a major life event - is probably a good thing to have," David Bennett, counselor and relationship expert with Double Trust Dating, told POPSUGAR. "This is normal, performance-related anxiety that you might get before a big public speech or musical or athletic performance."
However, having anxiety because you don't think it's the right choice to commit to your partner for life is another situation. "While some degree of anxiety in this regard is normal (after all, marriage is a big decision), many couples I have worked with who experienced this doubt and hesitation ended up later separating," he continued.
Anxiety before your wedding could be a variety of things, so look at the cause. "If it comes from a place of, 'This is the most amazing event in my life and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with this person,' you're good. If it comes from a place of, 'Oh man, I have to spend the rest of my life with this person?,' it could be a red flag," Bennett said.
What If the Anxiety Is Mild?
We usually feel anxiety when we're not able to predict the way things will turn out. Whatever your anxiety is related to, whether it's the wedding ceremony, finances, or your partner's behavior, you can try to increase the predictability with better preparation and use it to your advantage. "You may want to double-check the logistics, create a backup plan, and talk to your partner about the things that bother you," Ana Jovanovic, psychologist and life coach at Parenting Pod, told POPSUGAR. "Anxiety can push you into some productive actions. As long as it's mild and manageable, it can serve as a signal that amplifies the need for clarity and precision and directs your thinking process towards satisfying that need."
That anxiety directs your attention to those questions that may have been lingering in your mind for a while, but you never thought it was the right time to address them. Talk them out now, and it should dissipate.
What If You're Questioning the Marriage?
The unpleasantness of anxiety can cause you to question whether getting married is the right step to make. You may find it similar to the gut feeling that something is just wrong. "This is usually the moment when people start challenging their decisions and trying to get reassured that the alarm anxiety set off is actually a false one," Jovanovic explained. "However, they're doing so by starting with the hypothesis 'There's something wrong.' Naturally, when you're looking for things that are wrong, chances are your partner will feel like you're not trusting and loving them enough to marry them. This can be hurtful and damaging for a relationship."
So if that anxiety isn't related to excitement or checking off deadlines, but more about worrying about being with that one person for the rest of your life and whether or not you love them, that's not a good sign. "When anxiety is too difficult to bear (the level at which it becomes such is different for different people), it's usually a sign that something is wrong," Jovanovic said. "When it overwhelms you and paralyzes you from taking action to alleviate it, we can label it as 'bad.'"
How to Calm Down
If it's minor and not related to life commitment, there are ways to calm yourself down. "Mindfulness is defined as paying attention on purpose and nonjudgmentally in the present moment. One way I suggest to instantly apply mindfulness is to find something you haven't noticed before in the environment and pay attention to it," Bennett said, adding that you should become aware of how it looks and even sounds or smells. "Another technique I like is to count backwards from 1,000 by sevens. This requires the use of the frontal lobe of the brain, which is like the brain's master operator. By doing this, you're activating the logical part of your brain, and this will give time for the more emotional parts of the brain to cool down." You have to choose a difficult counting system, otherwise the task is so automatic that it won't require effort from your frontal lobe.
5 Questions to Ask Your Partner That Are Way Better Than "How Was Your Day?"
Raise your hand if this conversation sounds familiar to you: "How was your day?" "Good. How was your day?" "Good." Now, let's change it up a little, shall we? Whether you and your partner have the opportunity to spend several hours together every day or just a few minutes, there are much better questions you can ask other than requesting a daily one-word overview. The best questions stimulate conversation, make your partner think, and bring the two of you closer together (no matter how well you already know each other). Here are some questions you might consider asking your partner when they get home from work tonight rather than saying, "How was your day?"

Have WAY Too Many Pictures on Your Phone? Try This Routine to Keep Your Storage in Check
I'd tell you how many pictures are on my phone, but I'm too embarrassed, so let's just say there are a lot of them. The photos go all the way back to 2011, the year I bought my first iPhone, and while I've always taken plenty of pictures, the number increased tenfold once I became a parent, and my camera roll got pretty out of control. So how do I maximize my storage, and how often should you delete the pictures on your phone? Well, a few months ago, I came up with a simple routine to keep the number of photos in check, and it's been a game changer.
For me, the hardest part has always been remembering to delete pictures. At any given event, I'd take a bunch of photos, maybe post one on social media, and then forget to delete all the ones that weren't worth saving. Those blurry extras quickly add up! Toss in a whole lot of baby photos that all seem cute enough to keep, the product screenshots you swear you'll revisit later, plus some concert videos (don't worry, I'm not a person who holds up my phone throughout the whole concert! Maybe just a song snippet or two!), and suddenly you're looking at several thousand pictures on your phone. Yikes.
The more the photos added up, the more daunting the task of deleting them started to feel, so I procrastinated. "Oh, I'll clean this up on a rainy day," I'd think, and then a month or so would pass and another couple hundred photos would be added to the mix. Eventually, I decided I needed to come up with a system.
Here's the photo-deleting routine I follow now:
- Monthly: I've set up an alert on my phone to remind me at the beginning of each month to delete photos from the previous few weeks. That way, I'm only dealing with a month's worth of pictures each time, and it's a fairly quick to-do that I can complete while watching TV or commuting.
- Seasonally: Every few months, I revisit photos from the past season because usually, with a little bit of distance, there are more pictures I feel fine about deleting, especially when it comes to screenshots of products I liked or the eighth video of my son reading.
- Annually: After having to buy more iCloud storage at one point, mostly because of my giant photo collection, I've made a point to reevaluate my iCloud situation at the end of each year. It's one of those things that I'd forget to do until it was too late, but now that I've gotten used to this regular routine, it's just another step I'll add each December.
No, this system isn't exactly an earth-shattering concept, but it is a very simple way to keep the photos on your phone more organized, and it's pretty great to know that you don't have to sift through a whole bunch of pointless pictures to find the ones that are most special to you.

Here's What to Do If You Drop Your Phone in Water (Hint: Don't Use Rice)
When you drop your phone in water, the first thing you probably do is panic. Then, after the initial shock and horror wear off and you quickly remove it from the water, wherever that may be (if it's a toilet, we feel your pain), you're probably wondering what to do next. Well, try not to further freak out, because you want to make sure you first remove the battery (don't bother powering it off unless that's your only option for cutting the power). This is to prevent it from short circuiting. But is it possible to save a phone that's been completely submerged in water? Sometimes. Here's what to try.
1. Drop the Phone Into a Bag of Drying Agents
The cheapest phone-saving strategy that many people seem to share most often is dropping your wet phone into a bag of dried rice, sealing it up, and allowing it to sit for 24 to 36 hours. It might be wise to lightly wrap the phone in a paper towel because when dry rice absorbs liquid, well, it becomes wet rice. And wet rice sticking in all of your phones orifices isn't exactly an ideal scenario. If it were me, I would not use a bag of rice unless I was completely desperate. There are much better drying agents to use, like the silica packets you find in shoe boxes, vitamin bottles, and sometimes freeze-dried fruits (the ones that say "Do Not Eat"). These are meant for keeping environments dry and would be a much better strategy than a bag of sticky rice.
2. Wash Your Phone
Say what? I don't know about you, but I'm not too keen on using a phone that fell into a toilet bowl without washing it off. If it happens to fall into a large body of salty water like the ocean, you don't want to leave the salt water on there. When washing it, running water over it gently is probably your best bet, but do not submerge it in water.
3. Allow It to Dry For a Long Time
Forty-eight hours should be the minimum amount of time allowed for letting your phone dry. Waiting longer is even better. When you're setting it up to dry, try to avoid shaking it or moving it around too much because you don't want to shake the water into previously dry spaces. It's also a good idea to dry it at a slant after it has sat for a while, tilting it so the USB port faces down, allowing any remaining water to drain out of the phone.
4. The "Don't" List
Don't blow dry your phone or use heat sources to try and make the water evaporate. Phones, and technology in general, aren't huge fans of that type of suffering. Don't stick your phone in the freezer - water expands as it freezes. Don't try and use your phone to see if it still works right after the incident. And don't plug it in.
A wet phone isn't necessarily a death sentence for your trusty sidekick. With some preventative and preparatory measures, a wet phone might just be a minor problem rather than a major catastrophe.

Wedding Champagne Walls Are So Pretty, I Want to Set One Up in My Living Room Right Now
When I was a kid, I dreamed of having a chocolate fountain as the centerpiece at my wedding someday. If you asked me today, I'd probably still like the idea of the chocolate fountain a lot, but it'd definitely be a tossup between that or one of these amazing Champagne walls. The floral decor at most weddings is gorgeous in its own right, but Champagne walls double as a piece of art and a photo backdrop, so you can sip and snap pictures at the same time!
While some of these eye-catching installations are structural and clean, others are hidden by shrubbery to create a floating illusion, which looks like it takes a little more planning but is definitely worth it for the photo ops. Seriously, if I ever attend a wedding and they have a Champagne wall, I'm heading straight over for a selfie - and a glass of bubbly, of course. See the gorgeous piece of wedding decor ahead, and maybe take some inspiration for any big parties or celebrations coming up in your life.
