Katelyn Ohashi Did a Handstand in Heels on the ESPYs Red Carpet, and BRB, Picking Up My Jaw
ICYMI, not only did Katelyn Ohashi make her first appearance at the 2019 Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards on Wednesday evening, but she did it in style. The 22-year-old gymnast and Olympic hopeful traded in her leotard for a lacy white jumpsuit. But not even her matching strappy white heels covered in sparkles could stop her from doing a handstand smack dab in the middle of the red carpet.
A former University of California Los Angeles gymnast, Katelyn first made waves on the internet back in 2018 when she did a floor routine set to Michael Jackson's biggest hits, so she's definitely no stranger to internet fame. Now, the viral collegiate gymnast is blowing our minds all over again, and her impressive red carpet "routine" absolutely gets a 10 from me. See Katelyn's impressive red carpet entrance ahead.
Having Trouble Falling Asleep? Try Drinking 1 of These Teas Before Climbing Into Bed
The next time you're struggling to wind down in the evening, you should consider sipping some tea. A cup before bed may help you fall asleep faster.
"The warmth of tea, coupled with herbs, may make it easier for some individuals to relax," Nancy Farrell Allen, MS, RDN, a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, told POPSUGAR. "There are several teas on the market that are promoted as sleep aids."
One of those is chamomile tea, which contains an antioxidant called apigenin that's been shown to reduce anxiety and act as a sedative. "Tilia flowers, valerian, and passionflower are a few others," Nancy said. To use tea effectively, she recommends steeping it for a few minutes, then enjoying a cup about an hour before bed, which will give you time to use the bathroom before trying to fall asleep.
Nancy did share one warning, though: "Know your personal safety concerns with herbal compounds," she said. Allergic reactions and side effects can occur, and use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as with other drugs, herbs, and dietary supplements, haven't been well studied. "Use herbal compounds you are familiar with, and which are sold by major manufacturers to assure purity," Nancy explained.

AGT: This Swedish Singer's Cover of "Imagine" Was So Stunning, Even Simon Cowell Got Emotional
Chris Kläfford hit the America's Got Talent stage on Tuesday night looking every inch a rock star - from his long hair, impressive beard, tattoos, and guitar, he seemed primed to serenade the judges with a head-banging cover of something. But instead, the 30-year-old Swedish singer belted out a delicate, absolutely gorgeous cover of John Lennon's "Imagine."
As soon as he finished, people in the audience jumped to their feet and visibly wiped away tears, and all four judges joined in giving him a standing ovation. (Even Simon Cowell seemed genuinely moved by the performance!) "You know how they say 'Sing from the heart'? Well you wore your heart on your sleeve, we could all feel it," judge Howie Mandel told Chris. "It was amazing!" Gabrielle Union also couldn't hide how impressed she was, telling him that she was "blown away" by his voice.
Watch Chris's moving cover of the classic song above, then keep scrolling to see some photos from his time on stage.

Missing the Starks Already? They're Returning to Star in the Game of Thrones Prequel
In the long, cold, seemingly endless weeks since Game of Thrones ended, we've been waiting for any and all news about the HBO's upcoming Westeros-inspired prequel, and it's finally here! The nameless series, which is currently filming in North Ireland, will take place roughly 5,000 years before Game of Thrones and delves into the early history of the Seven Kingdoms - so a few of our favorite families don't even exist yet!
Because it's set so far back in the past, the show will take place before even House Targaryen and its dragons graced Westeros. But what does this mean for our other favorite Thrones families? "The Lannisters aren't there yet, but Casterly Rock is certainly there; it's like the Rock of Gibraltar," Martin said. "It's actually occupied by the Casterlys - for whom it's still named after in the time of Game of Thrones."
While the prequel predates both the Lannisters and the Targaryens, at least we can look forward to one prominent family from Westeros making an appearance. "The Starks will definitely be there," Martin added. By the grace of the Old Gods and the New, the Starks, as descendants of the First Men, and their loyal direwolves will definitely play a role in the prequel, along with a few new creatures like mammoths and some familiar villains. "Obviously the White Walkers are here - or as they're called in my books, The Others - and that will be an aspect of it," Martin said.
As for the state of the Seven Kingdoms themselves? There will be a lot more than seven. "We talk about the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros; there were Seven Kingdoms at the time of Aegon's Conquest," Martin said. "But if you go back further, then there are nine kingdoms and 12 kingdoms, and eventually you get back to where there are 100 kingdoms - petty kingdoms - and that's the era we're talking about here." Yep, 100 kingdoms!
While we thought seven kingdoms rampaging with dragons and wights and cunning Lannisters was a lot to keep track of, it sounds like we'll have even more drama-filled and action-packed Stark storylines to look forward to soon enough. HBO has yet to reveal a premiere date for the show, but it might be released as soon as early 2020. Until then, I'll be here, trying to think up 93 more kingdom names.

Um, Excuse Me, What Happened to That Big Little Lies Ice-Cream-Throwing Scene?
We've been anxiously waiting all season long for that dramatic ice-cream-throwing scene between Madeline Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon) and Mary Louise Wright (Meryl Streep) on Big Little Lies, and we finally got it on Sunday, only we were seriously let down. In the set photos, which were released back in August 2018, Madeline is shown angrily hurling an ice cream cone at Mary Louise; however, when the episode premiered, there was no ice cream throwing of the sorts. Not even a scoop! So, what the hell happened?
Well, the scene was apparently cut from the HBO series. "[Reese] just told me it's not in the show!" Streep revealed to ET back in May. "It's [going to be] in the DVD extras." No word on why it was left on the editing room floor, but at least we'll get it eventually. For now, let's just focus on the best thing about Big Little Lies: the memes, of course!

Beyoncé Walks Her First Red Carpet in Nearly 3 Years at The Lion King Premiere With Blue
Beyoncé was the belle of the ball at the world premiere of The Lion King remake in LA on Tuesday, and she wasn't alone: her 7-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter served as her adorable date for the evening. The 37-year-old singer, who plays the voice of adult Nala in the film, stunned in a crystal-covered Alexander McQueen gown and heels, showing off her braided finger waves and dramatic eye shadow. Blue, meanwhile, rocked a black pantsuit with diamonds matching her mom's. The ladies had support from close friends at the event, like singing protégés Chloe and Halle Bailey, and former Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.
It's been a minute since we've seen Bey walk a red carpet; the last time she was photographed on one was at the MTV VMAs back in August 2016, when she showed up with Blue in glam gowns. Luckily, the fun doesn't stop here: on Sunday, Beyoncé and her Lion King costars — including Donald Glover, Alfre Woodard, Seth Rogen, and Shahadi Wright Joseph — will premiere the film at a London screening attended by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The idea of that much royalty in one room makes me feel faint. Keep reading to see Queen Bey and Princess Blue in all their glory before The Lion King hits theaters on July 19.
The Rock, Wonder Woman, and Detective Pikachu Team Up For Netflix's New Action Thriller
Netflix has never shied away from big projects, and its newest acquisition might be the company's biggest project yet! The streaming giant has officially jumped in to take over the production of Red Notice, a project formerly set to be released by Universal Pictures. The film currently stars some of the biggest names in Hollywood today: Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds.
According to Deadline, director and script writer Rawson Marshall Thurber showed the finished script to Netflix after filmmakers sensed hesitation from Universal, and the streaming service committed to taking on the entire project. It's a huge win for Netflix, which came in as runner-up during the film's initial bidding battle. Not much is known about the film, but it's said to be an action thriller that takes place across multiple countries as it follows the pursuit of the most wanted art thief in the world.
As of right now, only three stars have been announced for the cast of the film, but considering how huge those stars are, we should all be expecting something exciting. Ahead, check out the cast so far and gear up for more as production gets underway. Red Notice is currently slated for release on Nov. 13, 2020.

Meghan Markle Takes Off the Belt on Her Linen Dress, Proceeds to Be the Chillest Mom Ever
Meghan Markle attended the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day at Billingbear Polo Club with Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on her hip. (Yes! It was his first public appearance!) Meghan looked incredibly chic in oversize Givenchy aviators and a breezy linen Lisa Marie Fernandez dress. While the olive-toned design did come affixed with a sash, Meghan removed that little detail to keep her outfit airy and free-flowing on the Summer day.
Meanwhile, sister-in-law Kate Middleton was by her side in a pink printed midi and espadrilles, but Meghan stood out just as well, staying true to her signature, slightly casual style. While Meghan's exact colorway is definitely popular, the midi also comes in a gorgeous salmon, and you can buy it in black, too. It's even got slits at the side, which makes getting around easier. Ahead, get an all-angles view of Meghan and Archie looking oh so adorable, then pick up Meghan's exact sunglasses or her dress in multiple shades.

I'm an Ob-Gyn, and Here's What I Want You to Know About Those Barely There Periods
As an ob-gyn, I often care for women who are concerned about heavy periods. Bleeding too little isn't as common, but a very light or absent period is just as concerning.
To understand why, you first need to know why periods occur. Every month the uterus builds and creates a matrix inside of it, called the uterine lining. That lining serves as a potential residence for a fertilized egg to implant, resulting in pregnancy. If the egg is released from the ovary but it isn't fertilized, the egg and the uterine lining are shed during your period. This cycle happens over and over, month after month, until menopause.
So, how much bleeding is too little? If you don't bleed at all, and you're not pregnant or on certain types of hormonal birth control, this could be a sign that you're not ovulating (or releasing an egg). The uterine lining continues to build, though - and over time, the lining and blood that accumulate in the uterus can increase your risk for developing uterine cancer. It's important then to see your healthcare provider if you do not have a period at least every other month.
But what if you have a light period that lasts for just two or three days, and you barely need a tampon, pad, or menstrual cup? That can be normal, but it depends. Most women lose about 5 to 35 milliliters of blood during their period. A tampon holds about five milliliters. If you can estimate that you fill at least one tampon over the course of those two or three days, you're bleeding enough. But if you bleed significantly less than that, you may only be spotting, instead of adequately shedding blood and tissue to reset the uterus. Again, it's time to see your doctor.
Of course, there are some exceptions. Certain types of birth control can prevent the uterine lining from ever forming, so it doesn't need to be shed. In those cases, a short, light, and possibly even absent period can be normal and harmless. Always ask your healthcare provider if that's a possibility with your particular method of birth control.

What I'm Listening to This Week: Jaden Smith, Labrinth, and Dominic Fike
I took the long holiday weekend to dive into some new music (you know, in between my hourly stream of "Old Town Road"). In this edition of What I'm Listening to This Week, I'm thoroughly enjoying Jaden Smith's sophomore album, as well as some new bangers from Dominic Fike, Labrinth, and — dare I say it — Post Malone. Here's what you should slam the play button on this week and why.

Camila Cabello Just Debuted a Dramatic Hair Change: A Blond Blunt Bob
"Ooh, la la la" and "OMG" are just a few things we've said in reaction to Camila Cabello's new hair look. The singer's latest Instagram post revealed her most dramatic hair change yet: a blond blunt bob with wispy bangs.
The hairstyle, which was created by hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, looked wavy with a wet effect in the Instagram photo, where he explained it is for the singer's new music video with Mark Ronson, "Find You Again." Though it is unclear if the new haircut and hair color are permanent - we're betting it's a wig meant only for the video - the look is a huge departure from her signature long, dark brown waves and curtain bangs.
Check out Cabello's new hair ahead.

The Lion King Premiere Brought Beyoncé, Donald Glover, and More Back to Pride Rock
The Lion King premiere in LA on Tuesday brought out some of Hollywood's brightest celebrities - including queen of the Pride Lands (and our hearts), Beyoncé. The 37-year-old singer and voice of Nala walked the red carpet in a crystal-covered gown with her costars Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Keegan-Michael Key, Alfre Woodard, Seth Rogen, and more to celebrate the release of their "live-action" Disney film ahead of its release next week. Also on hand for the fun were Beyoncé's former Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Zooey Deschanel (whose father, Caleb, is the movie's director of photography), and Beyoncé's protegees Chloe and Halle Bailey; it was recently announced that Halle is set to play Ariel in the upcoming Little Mermaid live-action film.
The premiere wasn't the only exciting Lion King news to drop on Tuesday night. Shortly before the premiere, Disney revealed that a new single from Beyoncé, titled "Spirit," will drop as part of her specially curated album. Um . . . consider us, psyched! While we anxiously wait for this new music, keep reading to see photos from the whole cast's night of glitz and glamour, and don't forget to catch The Lion King in theaters on July 19.
Having Trouble Sleeping? Here's How to Know If You Should Call Your Doctor
Everyone has nights when they simply can't fall asleep, but while people casually refer to that as insomnia, doctors define it differently. If you're suffering from the condition known as insomnia, you won't arrive at work bleary-eyed and clutching a massive cup of coffee just once, but over and over again. Here's how to tell if your restlessness requires medical attention.
What Are the Signs of Insomnia?
Marc Raphaelson, MD, a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, told POPSUGAR that brief sleep interruptions are common and often normal, but he becomes concerned that a patient has insomnia if he or she has "difficulty initiating (falling) asleep, difficulty staying asleep, or wakes up in the early morning after short sleep." If these problems last for more than a month and consistently affect your ability to function during the day, it's time to talk to your doctor.
For one thing, if you have insomnia, it could be a side effect of another illness that needs to be treated. "People who have survived emotional trauma or abuse often have insomnia, and they have to work through both problems," Dr. Raphaelson said. "Insomnia can [also] result from restless legs or sleep apnea, even for people who don't snore." Other conditions can contribute to insomnia as well, so if sleep troubles have become a constant in your life, it's worth having the conversation.
Are There Ways to Treat Insomnia at Home?
Before you see a doctor (or while you're waiting for your first appointment with a specialist), there are a few things to try at home that may help. "Try to get on a regular, scheduled time to get out of bed, even if you haven't slept well," Dr. Raphaelson advised. "If you must nap, keep it to 20 minutes, even if you only sleep part of the time." He also suggests avoiding caffeine or chocolate after noon and being mindful of your nighttime routine, because certain habits can trigger insomnia.
"Several hours before bedtime, stop eating, stop exercising, stop balancing your checkbook, and stop arguing with . . . well, anyone," Dr. Raphaelson told POPSUGAR, as stress can affect your sleep. Also cut down on time spent watching TV, using the computer, or looking at your phone screen because the blue light keeps you more awake. And although it can be tempting, remember that "alcohol is never, never any good for sleep," he said. If you do depend on alcohol to get some shut-eye, you should get help immediately.
When Should You See a Doctor For Insomnia?
If insomnia is impacting your life, it's never too soon to see a doctor. That's especially true if you are depressed or have suffered emotional trauma at any time in your life, Dr. Raphaelson explained.
Many people have sleep issues for a short period of time and then return to normal, or are able to get back on track on their own by following a nighttime routine like the one outlined here. But if you have sleep problems that last more than three months, your best bet is to get professional help - whether insomnia is the root problem or the symptom of another medical condition, it's crucial to get treatment that will help you consistently get enough sleep.
Prepare to Bang Your Head Along to Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, and Chris Stapleton's "BLOW" Video
Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, and Chris Stapleton's new song "BLOW" is a head-banging rock anthem that seems to have been specifically engineered for people to blast out of speakers all Summer long. As expected, the music video that accompanies the recently released track off of Sheeran's No.6 Collaborations Project is just as high energy.
Just like in the video for "Beautiful People," Sheeran and his A-list collaborators don't actually appear. Instead three hard-rocking female musicians take center stage at the Viper Room in LA as they lip-sync to the track. The music video, which was actually directed by Mars, will give you '70s rock vibes in no time.
There are only a few days to go until Sheeran's new album drops on July 12. The LP includes a stacked list of featured artists, some of which we've already heard in the singer-songwriter's other new singles, like "I Don't Care" with Justin Bieber and "Cross Me" with Chance the Rapper and PnB Rock. Our bodies are ready.

This Is Sabrina Carpenter’s Natural Hair Color - And How Often She Gets Touch-Ups
Sabrina Carpenter's long, blond hair has become a part of her signature beauty look with its flowing waves, and perfectly-placed highlights. In case you were wondering, the singer and Girl Meets World actress's natural hair color is, in fact, blond, but her golden highlights are the work of her long time hairstylist, Laurie Heaps.
"Her natural color is medium blond," Heaps told POPSUGAR. "We add some golden highlights throughout, and a few brighter ones to frame the face." Heaps also said that Carpenter usually goes to her every three to four months for touch-ups. "She's always on tour or filming, so sometimes it's longer than that.
For Heaps, the most important thing is making sure Carpenter's hair stays healthy when while dying her hair. "I always use Olaplex in her color and give her a Olaplex treatment afterward," she said.
Though we're used to seeing Carpenter with her long, blond hair, she has gone through many different color changes (including a dramatic transformation to brunette). See her most memorable hair looks, ahead.

However, even if you're not a whiz with a glue gun, you can still put together a Halloween costume that involves more than a pair of cat ears. Here are 50 adorable, affordable, and clever costume ideas that require little to no prep (and that your friends will never believe you came up with on your own).

Stranger Things: Sorry, Dustin, but We Have to Ask . . . Is Suzie Real?!
Oh, Dustin. When he's not acting as the fifth wheel for his friends, inadvertently adopting a demogorgon, dodging bullets from shady Russian soldiers, and getting lost in secret underground tunnels miles below Hawkins, he's . . . well, actually, that's pretty much all he does. But in Stranger Things season three, Dustin's character also gets a girlfriend! Or so he says. Is Suzie real, or what? Luckily for Dustin, by the end of season three, it's revealed that yes, Suzie is indeed an actual human and not an imaginary friend Dustin created.
Warning: spoilers for the rest of season three ahead!
As soon as Dustin returns home to Hawkins after attending a sleep-away science camp, Camp Know Where, he starts bragging to his friends about his new girlfriend, Suzie. According to Dustin, she's crazy smart, hotter than '80s icon Phoebe Cates, and doesn't mind that his teeth haven't fully grown in yet. (According to Dustin, Suzie actually prefers that when they're making out, so . . . ) The only catch is that she lives in Utah with a very strict Mormon family who would never approve of their relationship, so they have to communicate in secret. And how do they do that? By using ham radios, of course.
Shortly after reuniting with his friends mid-Summer, he has them lug his heavy ham radio equipment up the tallest hill in Hawkins so he can call Suzie and introduce her to the group. They sit up there for most of the day, sweaty and annoyed, but she never responds. Dustin feels dejected, his friends start to wonder if Suzie is a figment of his imagination, and life goes on as usual in their small town (and by that we mean the Mind Flayer starts turning rats and people into exploding goo). Dustin's love life doesn't come back into focus until season three's final episode, "The Battle of Starcourt."
Season three sees most of the characters operating in four separate groups: Will, Eleven, Max, Lucas, and Mike; Hopper and Joyce; Steve, Dustin, Robin, and Erica; and Nancy and Jonathan. In the finale, they finally all meet up at the mall that a group of Russian scientists have been using as a front for a lab deep below ground. To break into the lab, Joyce and Hopper need to plug the numbers in Planck's constant into a lock, and the only person who knows them is apparently . . . Suzie.
Dustin and Erica race back up the hill to get her on the radio. Lo and behold, she answers! The scene then cuts to Suzie's bedroom in Utah to give us a glimpse of her. No, she's not actually Phoebe Cates, but she's a young, dark-haired girl whose nightgown would make any character in Little House on the Prairie proud. That has to count for something!
Unfortunately for Dustin, she's not happy - from her perspective, her dear ol' "Dusty-bun" has been ignoring her for the past few weeks. Although she does eventually fork over the number the group needs, she first forces her boyfriend to sing a duet of The Neverending Story's theme song with her. It's pretty great.
Will we see more of Suzie in season four of Stranger Things? Fingers crossed, because we definitely need some more musical moments featuring the two of them.

Stranger Things: Here's Why You Recognize Murray the Conspiracy Theorist
There's a saying: just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you. Enter Murray Bauman, a former journalist who has been following the events of Stranger Things very closely, coming to Chief Hopper with all sorts of ideas about Eleven and Barb and a vast government conspiracy over the years. And he's not wrong, though Hopper can't tell him that (at least at first).
Now that we've reached season three and Murray is practically an integral part of the group, it's time to ask: who plays this bearded believer? It's Brett Gelman, one of those quintessential "Hey, it's that guy!" actors.
Gelman got his start doing improv and stand-up comedy in New York City. He quickly developed improv group Monkey D*ck, which went on to be developed into a limited-release TV show for the Upright Citizens Brigade. He also developed a character called Rapzilla for a couple of shorts that eventually made it onto MTV's sketch comedy series Human Giant. From there, Gelman began making regular appearances on the shows Funny or Die Presents, The Back Room, and The Life & Times of Tim before landing two series-regular roles.
The first was on Eagleheart, a cop show parody series on Adult Swim produced by Conan O'Brien's production company. The second was the critically acclaimed but short-lived Go On, costarring Matthew Perry, John Cho, and Laura Benanti.
Gelman also launched a series of specials for Adult Swim: Dinner With Friends With Brett Gelman and Friends and Dinner With Family With Brett Gelman and Brett Gelman's Family. Beginning in 2015, Gelman started landing recurring roles on Blunt Talk, Another Period, and Love, followed by a series-regular spot on the critically acclaimed Fleabag. He also popped up in two episodes of David Lynch's continuation of Twin Peaks in 2017.
At this point, it seems probable that Gelman will show up in Stranger Things season four given how Murray's story is intertwined with Joyce and Hopper at the end of season three. But as with anything Hawkins-related, we'll just have to wait and see!
Molly of Denali Is the First US Kids Show to Feature an Indigenous Lead, and It's About Time
PBS Kids is making television history by creating the first US children's show to feature an indigenous lead character, and your little ones won't want to miss out on all of her action-packed adventures. Molly of Denali, set to debut nationwide on July 15, is meant to help children understand the culture and traditions of Native people through the eyes of 10-year-old Molly Mabray, an Athabascan girl from Qyah, Alaska whose family owns the Denali Trading Post.
All of the show's indigenous characters will be voiced by Native people, including Molly herself, who will be voiced by 14-year-old Sovereign Bill of Auburn, Washington, according to the Associated Press. Each episode will also include a video of real Alaska Native children showcasing their own diverse cultures and languages.
As viewers, children will be able to follow Molly, her Native friend Tooey, her African-American friend Trini, and her dog Suki on their adventures in the fictional community of Qyah, whose residents are both Native and non-Native. The 30-minute show will run during mornings seven days a week and will air 38 half episodes in pairs, according to WGBH executive producer Dorothea Gillim.

"Molly of Denali showcases values paramount to all Alaskan Native cultures," says Princess Daazhraii Johnson, the show's creative producer. "These values will be woven into each story line and provide important learning moments. I'm especially excited that Alaska Native children will get to see themselves in Molly, who's such an inspiring role model for all kids. The project's Alaska Native advisors worked hard to ensure that our children will get to see our beautiful cultures in a respectful light."
