Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Take a Break From Wedding Planning and Hit the Beach
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are squeezing in some Summer fun ahead of their wedding. The couple - who got engaged on Valentine's Day - are currently vacationing with family and friends in Ile de Ré, France. Over the weekend, the two hit up the beach, where they took a warm dip in the ocean and soaked up the sun. The 42-year-old actor went shirtless and showed off his muscular physique, while the 34-year-old singer kept things sexy in a floral one-piece.
Katy and Orlando have been dating on and off since 2016 and are expected to wed at the end of this year. Katy is reportedly "leaning away from wearing white," and the guest list may include former nemesis Taylor Swift. Given that they recently ended their years-long feud and Katy did appear in Taylor's "You Need to Calm Down" music video, we could definitely see Taylor getting an invite.

Kim Kardashian's Skintight Leather Look Doesn't Scream Summer, but It Does Scream Sexy
A skintight leather outfit might not be my preferred choice for a hot Summer night, but I'm not Kim Kardashian. Kim looked perfectly comfortable as she stepped out for a date night with Kanye West on Wednesday night in Los Angeles wearing black leggings and a black halter crop top with snakeskin details. The all-leather look had Kim's famous curves on full display, and she looked totally stunning as she walked hand-in-hand with her husband.
The two were celebrating their friend Kristen Crawley's birthday in West Hollywood at Craig's restaurant, according to TMZ. With Kim's sleek understated bob and barely-there nude sandals, her black two-piece outfit stole the spotlight. See photos of Kim's latest look from all angles ahead.

A Doctor Explains What Causes Those Painful Muscle Cramps and How to Prevent Them
If you've ever been struck by muscle cramps mid-workout, you know how excruciating they can be. But what causes cramps, exactly, and is there anything you can do to prevent them?
According to Bert Mandelbaum, MD, a sports medicine specialist and co-chair of medical affairs at Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles, muscle cramps are commonly caused by general overuse, especially following strenuous exercise. "With muscles that have become sore due to exercise, the discomfort usually comes after the exercise is finished, hits a peak for a day or two, and then disappears," he told POPSUGAR. Drinking plenty of fluids helps flush out the lactic acid that can accumulate in your muscles and make soreness worse, so it's important to stay hydrated in the days and hours before and after a workout. "We often hear of the energy bars people are encouraged to eat pre-workout, but it's actually the hydration that's going to see you through and help you recover faster," Dr. Mandelbaum said.
You also need to listen to your body, though, and avoid overdoing it during your workouts, he explained. If you're beginning to feel fatigued during a cardio session or you can't keep proper form while lifting weights, heed those cues.
While exercise is the biggest culprit, there are other causes of cramps, Dr. Mandelbaum told POPSUGAR. Heat cramps are the mildest form of heat injury and can occur in the stomach, arms, or legs. They're caused by a depletion of salt and fluids from sweating during exercise. You can typically ease these cramps by taking a break, stretching the affected muscle, and replacing those electrolytes. But if not treated immediately, heat cramps may progress to heat exhaustion, a more serious illness marked by dizziness or fatigue, nausea, vomiting, a rapid heartbeat, and low blood pressure. If this happens, stop your workout, move to a shaded area, and use ice or wet towels to cool your body down, while replenishing salts and minerals with a sports drink or fortified water.
Finally, drinking too much alcohol can also result in dehydration, making your muscles feel sore the next day. "[Dehydration] restricts proper blood flow and depletes oxygen, all leading to muscle pain, injury, and cramping," , Dr. Mandelbaum said. "If you know you'll be indulging in a cocktail or two one evening, be sure to add in plenty of water to the mix to help reduce the risk of dehydration."

This Is What Happens to Your Body When You Eat Too Many Carbs, According to an Expert
If you consistently overeat carbs, it could lead to weight gain, but that doesn't mean you need to cut them out entirely. At some point, you've probably heard or even participated in a heated debate about carbs but we'll let you battle that one out with your friends.
To find out more about the importance of carbs in your diet, how many carbs you need to eat in a day to function at your best, and what exactly happens to your body when you eat too many carbs, POPSUGAR spoke to Jason Machowsky, RD, CSSD, RCEP, CSCS, a board-certified sports dietitian and exercise physiologist at the Hospital For Special Surgery's Tish Sports Performance Center.
Why You Need Carbohydrates
How your body functions is a complex process but one simple thing to remember about carbs and the role they play when it comes to your body is: carbs are fuel for your body. "They're the gas for the engine, so the more you drive the car, the more gas you need. The less you drive the car, the less gas you need," Jason told POPSUGAR.
When you book your favorite workout class last minute, your body will convert carbohydrates into energy (it's a complex process) so you can get through the workout. When you're doing a HIIT workout, or any workout at that, your body turns to carbs to power you through every move.
We aren't here to tell you what foods to eat, we trust that you'll make the best decision for yourself, but it's a fact that carbs keep you functioning at your best. Research has shown long-term carb restriction can negatively affect your mood and cognitive function. Bottom line: you needs carbs.
What Happens to Your Body When You Overeat Carbs
If you want to avoid feeling lackluster, you should eat carbs, and in general, consume a well-balanced diet that includes protein, fats, and minimally processed foods. "Carbs are calories so whether you eat too many carbs, too much fat, or too much protein for what your body is burning, there's a potential that you'll gain weight," Jason said.
"Gaining too much weight for those who are overweight can lead to other metabolic issues as far as insulin resistance, heart disease, and prediabetes," he explained. Overeating carbs can lead to weight gain, but Jason said, "It's not just carbs themselves, it's just eating too much and not being active. Carbs are just one potential focus of that [weight gain]."
How Many Carbs You Should Eat Each Day
To make sure you're getting enough carbs for energy but not overeating, Jason said, "The general guideline has traditionally been [to consume] anywhere from 120 to 140 grams of carbs per day as a baseline."
"I would say there are these 'guidelines' but you're not going to fall flat on your face if you don't hit those number either; it's pretty varied," Jason explained. If you want a more individualized guide on what and how much you should eat each day, we recommend consulting a registered dietitian.

Megan Rapinoe Walked the ESPYs Red Carpet in Coach Leather Shorts, and Her Whole Look Is Goals
Following an incredible World Cup win for the USWNT, captain Megan Rapinoe swapped her soccer uniform on the ESPYs red carpet on July 10 for a classy, tailored black blazer with a plunging neckline and a matching pair of Coach leather shorts. OK, leather shorts aren't the first clothing item that comes to mind when I think of red carpet events, but Megan proved that the sporty look works for every occasion.
Megan's stylist, Karla Welch, accessorized the daring look with a pair of Louboutin oxford shoes and jewelry from Beladora and Anita Ko. Keeping it edgy yet sophisticated, Megan completed the outfit with a pair of bunched up socks to create a rockstar look that worked perfectly with her lavender pixie cut. See Megan's full look ahead, and check out what the rest of the USWNT wore when they accepted their ESPYs award for Best Team of 2019.

Ariana Grande Opens Up About Her "All-Consuming" Grief Over Mac Miller's Death
Following an incredibly tough year, Ariana Grande has made a triumphant return to the spotlight. In addition to releasing her fifth studio album, Thank U, Next, the 26-year-old is currently on her Sweetener world tour, and she's the latest star to grace the cover of Vogue's August 2019 issue (which hits newsstands in NYC/LA on July 16 and nationwide on July 23). In the accompanying interview, Ariana opens up about everything like her tour, the Manchester benefit concert, and her "all-consuming" grief over ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.
Ariana and Mac dated for nearly two years before they split in May 2018. Mac died at age 26 from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol in September 2018. Since his death, Ariana has kept his memory alive with heartfelt tributes on social media and at her concerts.
Brad Pitt Sure Was in a Photobombing Mood at This Fun Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Shoot
Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Margot Robbie have officially begun promoting their upcoming film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and things look to be off to a fun start. On Thursday, the trio linked up with director Quentin Tarantino for a photocall at the Four Seasons Hotel in LA, where they posed for pictures on a makeshift movie set. At least, Margot sure tried to pose for photos on a makeshift movie set, but her costar had other ideas. Brad was seen flying through the air (with the greatest of ease!) while the actress - who portrays Sharon Tate in the film - laughed in the background. For the record, Leo wasn't safe from a photobomb from Mr. Pitt, either.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood follows a TV actor (DiCaprio) and his stunt double (Pitt) as they navigate Los Angeles during the infamous Manson Family murders in August 1969. "It takes place at the height of the counter-culture explosion, at the height of the hippie revolution, and at the height of a new Hollywood," Quentin Tarantino explained. Keep reading to see Brad's impressive photobombing efforts, and stay tuned for more fun promo moments ahead of OUATIH's July 26 release.

Stranger Things: Sorry, Dustin, but We Have to Ask . . . Is Suzie Real?!
Oh, Dustin. When he's not acting as the fifth wheel for his friends, inadvertently adopting a demogorgon, dodging bullets from shady Russian soldiers, and getting lost in secret underground tunnels miles below Hawkins, he's . . . well, actually, that's pretty much all he does. But in Stranger Things season three, Dustin's character also gets a girlfriend! Or so he says. Is Suzie real, or what? Luckily for Dustin, by the end of season three, it's revealed that yes, Suzie is indeed an actual human and not an imaginary friend Dustin created.
Warning: spoilers for the rest of season three ahead!
As soon as Dustin returns home to Hawkins after attending a sleep-away science camp, Camp Know Where, he starts bragging to his friends about his new girlfriend, Suzie. According to Dustin, she's crazy smart, hotter than '80s icon Phoebe Cates, and doesn't mind that his teeth haven't fully grown in yet. (According to Dustin, Suzie actually prefers that when they're making out, so . . . ) The only catch is that she lives in Utah with a very strict Mormon family who would never approve of their relationship, so they have to communicate in secret. And how do they do that? By using ham radios, of course.
Shortly after reuniting with his friends mid-Summer, he has them lug his heavy ham radio equipment up the tallest hill in Hawkins so he can call Suzie and introduce her to the group. They sit up there for most of the day, sweaty and annoyed, but she never responds. Dustin feels dejected, his friends start to wonder if Suzie is a figment of his imagination, and life goes on as usual in their small town (and by that we mean the Mind Flayer starts turning rats and people into exploding goo). Dustin's love life doesn't come back into focus until season three's final episode, "The Battle of Starcourt."
Season three sees most of the characters operating in four separate groups: Will, Eleven, Max, Lucas, and Mike; Hopper and Joyce; Steve, Dustin, Robin, and Erica; and Nancy and Jonathan. In the finale, they finally all meet up at the mall that a group of Russian scientists have been using as a front for a lab deep below ground. To break into the lab, Joyce and Hopper need to plug the numbers in Planck's constant into a lock, and the only person who knows them is apparently . . . Suzie.
Dustin and Erica race back up the hill to get her on the radio. Lo and behold, she answers! The scene then cuts to Suzie's bedroom in Utah to give us a glimpse of her. No, she's not actually Phoebe Cates, but she's a young, dark-haired girl whose nightgown would make any character in Little House on the Prairie proud. That has to count for something!
Unfortunately for Dustin, she's not happy - from her perspective, her dear ol' "Dusty-bun" has been ignoring her for the past few weeks. Although she does eventually fork over the number the group needs, she first forces her boyfriend to sing a duet of The Neverending Story's theme song with her. It's pretty great.
Will we see more of Suzie in season four of Stranger Things? Fingers crossed, because we definitely need some more musical moments featuring the two of them.
You Won't Be Able to Tear Your Eyes Away From Michelle Obama's Sparkly Blue Jumpsuit
Michelle Obama has been crushing her wardrobe game while promoting her memoir, Becoming. She has been seen wearing everything from an embellished light pink suit to a pair of Alexander Wang leather pants. Most recently, Michelle was seen giving a talk during the 2019 Essence Festival, which took place at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.
The former FLOTUS wore a custom Sergio Hudson creation that just about took our breath away. Rather than wearing a suit or an LBD, Michelle decided to have some fun in a sequined midnight blue jumpsuit. The one-of-a-kind creation had a '70s feel with its wide-leg silhouette. She accessorized with a matching silk satin belt that cinched in her waist, also by the designer. To complete her outfit, Michelle slipped into a pair of strappy heels that came in a similar hue. This actually isn't the first time she's worn a head-turning jumpsuit this year. She previously chose a custom black embellished Stella McCartney jumpsuit while promoting her memoir in London. Clearly, she knows how to rock the heck out of the style!
Keep reading to see her amazing sequined jumpsuit from all angles. Then, shop similar versions if you also want to give her sparkly look a try.
Katelyn Ohashi Did a Handstand in Heels on the ESPYs Red Carpet, and BRB, Picking Up My Jaw
ICYMI, not only did Katelyn Ohashi make her first appearance at the 2019 Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards on Wednesday evening, but she did it in style. The 22-year-old gymnast and Olympic hopeful traded in her leotard for a lacy white jumpsuit. But not even her matching strappy white heels covered in sparkles could stop her from doing a handstand smack dab in the middle of the red carpet.
A former University of California Los Angeles gymnast, Katelyn first made waves on the internet back in 2018 when she did a floor routine set to Michael Jackson's biggest hits, so she's definitely no stranger to internet fame. Now, the viral collegiate gymnast is blowing our minds all over again, and her impressive red carpet "routine" absolutely gets a 10 from me. See Katelyn's impressive red carpet entrance ahead.
Having Trouble Falling Asleep? Try Drinking 1 of These Teas Before Climbing Into Bed
The next time you're struggling to wind down in the evening, you should consider sipping some tea. A cup before bed may help you fall asleep faster.
"The warmth of tea, coupled with herbs, may make it easier for some individuals to relax," Nancy Farrell Allen, MS, RDN, a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, told POPSUGAR. "There are several teas on the market that are promoted as sleep aids."
One of those is chamomile tea, which contains an antioxidant called apigenin that's been shown to reduce anxiety and act as a sedative. "Tilia flowers, valerian, and passionflower are a few others," Nancy said. To use tea effectively, she recommends steeping it for a few minutes, then enjoying a cup about an hour before bed, which will give you time to use the bathroom before trying to fall asleep.
Nancy did share one warning, though: "Know your personal safety concerns with herbal compounds," she said. Allergic reactions and side effects can occur, and use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as with other drugs, herbs, and dietary supplements, haven't been well studied. "Use herbal compounds you are familiar with, and which are sold by major manufacturers to assure purity," Nancy explained.

AGT: This Swedish Singer's Cover of "Imagine" Was So Stunning, Even Simon Cowell Got Emotional
Chris Kläfford hit the America's Got Talent stage on Tuesday night looking every inch a rock star - from his long hair, impressive beard, tattoos, and guitar, he seemed primed to serenade the judges with a head-banging cover of something. But instead, the 30-year-old Swedish singer belted out a delicate, absolutely gorgeous cover of John Lennon's "Imagine."
As soon as he finished, people in the audience jumped to their feet and visibly wiped away tears, and all four judges joined in giving him a standing ovation. (Even Simon Cowell seemed genuinely moved by the performance!) "You know how they say 'Sing from the heart'? Well you wore your heart on your sleeve, we could all feel it," judge Howie Mandel told Chris. "It was amazing!" Gabrielle Union also couldn't hide how impressed she was, telling him that she was "blown away" by his voice.

In the long, cold, seemingly endless weeks since Game of Thrones ended, we've been waiting for any and all news about the HBO's upcoming Westeros-inspired prequel, and it's finally here! The nameless series, which is currently filming in North Ireland, will take place roughly 5,000 years before Game of Thrones and delves into the early history of the Seven Kingdoms - so a few of our favorite families don't even exist yet!
Because it's set so far back in the past, the show will take place before even House Targaryen and its dragons graced Westeros. But what does this mean for our other favorite Thrones families? "The Lannisters aren't there yet, but Casterly Rock is certainly there; it's like the Rock of Gibraltar," Martin said. "It's actually occupied by the Casterlys - for whom it's still named after in the time of Game of Thrones."
While the prequel predates both the Lannisters and the Targaryens, at least we can look forward to one prominent family from Westeros making an appearance. "The Starks will definitely be there," Martin added. By the grace of the Old Gods and the New, the Starks, as descendants of the First Men, and their loyal direwolves will definitely play a role in the prequel, along with a few new creatures like mammoths and some familiar villains. "Obviously the White Walkers are here - or as they're called in my books, The Others - and that will be an aspect of it," Martin said.
As for the state of the Seven Kingdoms themselves? There will be a lot more than seven. "We talk about the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros; there were Seven Kingdoms at the time of Aegon's Conquest," Martin said. "But if you go back further, then there are nine kingdoms and 12 kingdoms, and eventually you get back to where there are 100 kingdoms - petty kingdoms - and that's the era we're talking about here." Yep, 100 kingdoms!
While we thought seven kingdoms rampaging with dragons and wights and cunning Lannisters was a lot to keep track of, it sounds like we'll have even more drama-filled and action-packed Stark storylines to look forward to soon enough. HBO has yet to reveal a premiere date for the show, but it might be released as soon as early 2020. Until then, I'll be here, trying to think up 93 more kingdom names.

Um, Excuse Me, What Happened to That Big Little Lies Ice-Cream-Throwing Scene?
We've been anxiously waiting all season long for that dramatic ice-cream-throwing scene between Madeline Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon) and Mary Louise Wright (Meryl Streep) on Big Little Lies, and we finally got it on Sunday, only we were seriously let down. In the set photos, which were released back in August 2018, Madeline is shown angrily hurling an ice cream cone at Mary Louise; however, when the episode premiered, there was no ice cream throwing of the sorts. Not even a scoop! So, what the hell happened?
Well, the scene was apparently cut from the HBO series. "[Reese] just told me it's not in the show!" Streep revealed to ET back in May. "It's [going to be] in the DVD extras." No word on why it was left on the editing room floor, but at least we'll get it eventually. For now, let's just focus on the best thing about Big Little Lies: the memes, of course!

Beyoncé Walks Her First Red Carpet in Nearly 3 Years at The Lion King Premiere With Blue
Beyoncé was the belle of the ball at the world premiere of The Lion King remake in LA on Tuesday, and she wasn't alone: her 7-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter served as her adorable date for the evening. The 37-year-old singer, who plays the voice of adult Nala in the film, stunned in a crystal-covered Alexander McQueen gown and heels, showing off her braided finger waves and dramatic eye shadow. Blue, meanwhile, rocked a black pantsuit with diamonds matching her mom's. The ladies had support from close friends at the event, like singing protégés Chloe and Halle Bailey, and former Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.
It's been a minute since we've seen Bey walk a red carpet; the last time she was photographed on one was at the MTV VMAs back in August 2016, when she showed up with Blue in glam gowns. Luckily, the fun doesn't stop here: on Sunday, Beyoncé and her Lion King costars — including Donald Glover, Alfre Woodard, Seth Rogen, and Shahadi Wright Joseph — will premiere the film at a London screening attended by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The idea of that much royalty in one room makes me feel faint. Keep reading to see Queen Bey and Princess Blue in all their glory before The Lion King hits theaters on July 19.
The Rock, Wonder Woman, and Detective Pikachu Team Up For Netflix's New Action Thriller
Netflix has never shied away from big projects, and its newest acquisition might be the company's biggest project yet! The streaming giant has officially jumped in to take over the production of Red Notice, a project formerly set to be released by Universal Pictures. The film currently stars some of the biggest names in Hollywood today: Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds.
According to Deadline, director and script writer Rawson Marshall Thurber showed the finished script to Netflix after filmmakers sensed hesitation from Universal, and the streaming service committed to taking on the entire project. It's a huge win for Netflix, which came in as runner-up during the film's initial bidding battle. Not much is known about the film, but it's said to be an action thriller that takes place across multiple countries as it follows the pursuit of the most wanted art thief in the world.
As of right now, only three stars have been announced for the cast of the film, but considering how huge those stars are, we should all be expecting something exciting. Ahead, check out the cast so far and gear up for more as production gets underway. Red Notice is currently slated for release on Nov. 13, 2020.
