Fruit Flies Got You Down? This Trap Is Surprisingly Stylish and Only $12
Above: my fruit fly trap. I realize there's no fruit in this photo, but technically the wine used to be grapes.
I have no idea why I get so many fruit flies at home. I don't even keep that much fruit around (yes, I know, I should probably eat more fruit) but they show up anyway, conspiring to float around my apartment and drive me completely crazy. My dog may look adorable swatting at them, but I do not - which is why I've tried nearly everything to keep them from killing my vibe by killing them instead.
After some trial, error, furious Googling, and a polite complaint to my landlord, I started looking for DIY ways to rid myself of them forever. While there are lots of fruit fly traps on the market, they're not very cute to look at - but I had faith that somewhere, someone had to be smart enough to design an aesthetically pleasing trap that could also lure fruit flies to their death. My search came to an end once I found the RSVP Endurance Fruit Fly Trap ($12) on Amazon, which is not only stylish, but also discreet: the white ceramic looks sleek, and the stainless steel cover matches the rest of my kitchen appliances (one friend actually thought it was a salt cellar, which, LOL).
It's incredibly easy to use; you fill it with about 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar and a small drop of regular dish soap, put the lid on, sit back, and watch those suckers take the bait. Have I gleefully sipped a glass of wine while watching a fruit fly navigate its way into a hole and ultimately meet its demise? Yes. And did I let out a hearty witch cackle? Also yes. (I really hate fruit flies, in case you were wondering.)

The Politician: The Trailer For Ryan Murphy's Netflix Series Is a Wild, Quotable Ride
Are you ready for a first look at Ryan Murphy's The Politician? I hope you're sitting down, because the new trailer for the upcoming dramedy, which arrives on Netflix in September, is a campy, quotable ride.
If you haven't yet read up on the series, it will follow wealthy Santa Barbara-based student Payton Hobart (Dear Evan Hansen's Ben Platt), who has serious aspirations about becoming president one day. But before he can do that, he'll have to navigate the treacherous political landscape of Saint Sebastian High School in his quest to become student body president and later attend Harvard.
Judging from the trailer, Payton will go toe to toe with some ruthless classmates (Bohemian Rhapsody's Lucy Boynton), who we imagine will put Rachel Berry to shame, as well as an assassination attempt from Jessica Lange's character. (NBD.) Luckily he has the undying support of his mother (Gwyneth Paltrow) to guide him through it all.
Watch the trailer above, and then take a peek at the star-studded first-look photos Netflix shared a few weeks back before the series arrives on Sept. 27.

Here's What Happens When a Tennis Set Is So Close That It Has to Be Decided on a Tiebreak
Some of the most competitive sets in tennis come down to a tiebreaker: an extra game in which one player must score at least seven points to win.
How do you reach this point? It's pretty simple: a tiebreak situation arises when both sides have won six games in a set. Typically, a player would need to win at least six games, while holding a two-game advantage, to take the set - but those rules no longer apply when the score is tied 6-6. Instead, the opponents play one more game, and whoever wins it, wins the set. The final score will then be seven games to six, and that's sufficient to win when a tiebreak is involved.
To kick off the tiebreak, the player whose turn it is to serve begins by serving one point. Their opponent then serves one point, and from then on until the game ends, the players alternate serving two consecutive points each. Every six points, the players switch ends of the court, which helps mitigate any environmental advantages, such as wind or sunlight.
A player must reach seven points minimum and have a two-point advantage over their opponent to win the tiebreak. So, if one player has six points and one has five, and the player with the advantage scores the next point, they win the game and the set (and possibly even the match), because they met both conditions for winning the tiebreak. But if the players were tied at six points, it wouldn't matter who won the next point because no one could achieve a two-point advantage; instead, they would keep playing until someone managed to pull away.

Kit Harington Admits He Really Should Have Seen the Shocking Game of Thrones Ending Coming
Warning: Spoilers for the finale of Game of Thrones are ahead!
It is pretty universally accepted that the Game of Thrones finale was . . . questionable. Fans of the show didn't hold back when slamming HBO for using the final six episodes to undermine storylines they felt had taken years to build. But it was our main man Jon Snow and all the twists and turns his storyline took in the last episodes that left us all shaking our heads with confusion. From not killing the Night King to then actually assassinating Daenerys - and ultimately, being banished to The North as punishment for the murder even though no one saw him do it - we had questions, and we know you did, too.
In an Emmys interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kit Harington revealed that he too had a lot of thoughts and feelings about how his character's story ended. Perhaps the most poignant scene was at the start of the finale, "The Iron Throne," where he makes the gutting decision to kill Daenerys following her rampage through King's Landing. This scene didn't shock many viewers, but surprisingly, Harington didn't see it coming. He explained to THR, "I remember my mouth dropping open and looking across Emilia at the table, who was slowly nodding as I went, 'No, no, no!' It was a 'holy f*ck' moment, pardon my language. Jaw dropping. I was completely surprised by it, even though you can kind of see the path through the season of how it was getting there - and even the previous couple of seasons before that, once you can look back. But it was still a big shock to me." Harington goes on to explain that the scene, although only one and a half pages of dialogue, took more than three weeks to film. "It was tiring. It's one of the hardest things we filmed," he said.
When asked how he felt about Snow's final scene - which was also the final scene in the series - he said, "seeing him go beyond the Wall back to something true, something honest, something pure with these people he was always told he belongs with - the Free Folk - it felt to me like he was finally free." He added, "It was a really sweet ending. As much as he had done a horrible thing [in killing Daenerys], as much as he had felt that pain, the actual ending for him was finally being released." In the interview, THR also asked Harington to confirm once and for all whether he was miffed that he didn't get to kill the Night King himself. "I was a bit pissed off, only because I wanted to kill the Night King!" he said. "I think I felt like everyone else did, in that it had been set up for a long time, and then I didn't get to do it. But I was so happy for Maisie and Arya. I was secretly like, 'I wanted to do that!' But even he admits "it was a really great twist, and it tied up Maisie's journey in a really beautiful way. Over the seasons, we've seen her build up these skills to become this hardened assassin, and she uses it all to kill our main antagonist."
THR asked Harington what he thought of the fan theories that suggest Jon actually encouraged Arya to kill the Night King, thus giving him the credit for her job well done. Harington said, "What, the big man goes and tells the little girl to go and [do it]? No thanks. That's crap. She did it all on her own. It had nothing to do with Jon."

No matter how many work tops I have hanging around, it seems like it's never enough. This Fall, I'm looking to invest in fresh ones that I can wear daily. Instead of overspending on tons of clothes, the best way to do this is by simply treating myself to a few new shirts or blouses that will make all my jeans, trousers, and pants feel new.
From brands like H&M to Topshop and ASOS, I curated 50 of my most favorite pieces that you can buy right now, too. Some are even as low as $20, so at prices this good, why not get five new ones (one for every day of the week), and we guarantee getting dressed with be a breeze. Keep reading to shop them all.

Here’s What Led Up to That Insane Fight Between Jordan and Christian on Bachelor in Paradise
Who knew a piñata could be the center of such an intense fight? Just when we thought Jordan Kimball grew out of his villain ways, he came back full-force and got thrown off of Bachelor in Paradise season six, along with Christian Estrada. What you may not have realized, however, is that there was some pent-up anger on both sides, stemming back to a year before filming.
Both Jordan and Christian were on season 14 of The Bachelorette. Although Christian was sent home on the first night, Jordan began building a connection with Becca Kufrin. You would think that a man who didn't have much time on the show would have a lot to say at the "Men Tell All" special, right? Well, he made himself known by stepping up to Jordan.
Christian piped up by saying that he had "a real job" and also models as a hobby, taking a stab at Jordan just being a model. It built up from there with Christian standing up and Jordan following, saying "this is your moment" and indicating Christian wanted camera time. Honestly, the whole thing seemed like Christian wanted to be part of the conversation, and with Jordan already having other guys against him, he was an easy target.
Fast forward to Jordan showing up in Paradise, followed by Christian. Jordan was friends with Clay Harbor, who had been talking to Nicole Lopez-Alvar. Nicole had just come back from a date with Christian, and Clay went to snag some time with her. However, Christian said that he wanted to continue the date and said he can talk with her another time. Clay, being a gentleman, didn't want to put Nicole in the middle, so he walked away. Jordan, however, wasn't OK with the situation and went to "fix" it, aka destroy Christian's piñata that he had hung up.
"Christian, I'm really sorry, but Clay is a good friend of mine," Jordan said. Then Christian jumped up from laying with Nicole to stop him. One thing led to another, and the fight got physical. Jordan picked Christian up and threw him off of a pretty high ledge, where he landed on his arm in the sand. The two got pulled apart by crew members and they were trying to cool both parties down. They got some distance between them, but then Christian was able to break free and ran towards Jordan, but was brought to the ground by the crew.
ABC explained to Jordan and Christian that they have a zero tolerance policy for violence (they're probably even more conscious after last season's incident), so they sent both men home. We haven't seen an exit from BIP as scary as this since Chad Johnson threw a fit and only lasted 24 hours. Paradise seems to bring out the worst in people . . .
From Bachelor Mansion to the Dance Floor: Hannah Brown Is Reportedly Joining DWTS!
It looks like our favorite former Bachelorette may be ditching the boy drama for some ballroom lessons! According to Us Weekly, Hannah Brown is reportedly competing in season 28 of Dancing With the Stars, set to premiere on Sept. 16. It all began when the dancing competition's official Instagram page posted a black-and-white photo of one of their contestants, with the caption reading, "We'd LOVE to tell you who this is .. . But we're going to make you wait a few more days. 😏 Any guesses? #DWTS."
Fans immediately began speculating the woman in the image was Hannah for two main reasons: her beauty marks and the caption's emphasis on the word "LOVE." They were quick to point out that it could be referencing her time on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. It isn't far-fetched to believe that Hannah would join the dancing competition, and she wouldn't be the first member of Bachelor Nation to do so! Who could forget Joe Amabile's time on the dance floor - especially that time he convinced Jordan Kimball to join him for a performance?
Fingers crossed we'll get to see Hannah cha-cha her way into more hearts when Dancing With the Stars premieres on Sept. 16!
A $1,500 Halloween Advent Calendar Exists, and the Addams Family Needs to Get on My Level
Currently at the top of my list of "Things I Never Knew I Needed Until Today" is this hauntingly gorgeous Halloween Advent calendar made to look just like a creepy Victorian mansion - consider me officially spooked! Available on Etsy for a casual $1,465, the beautifully handcrafted Halloween decoration looks like the perfect centerpiece for a chilling Halloween extravaganza. I can already picture the zombiefied lords and ladies that lurk behind the house's shutters.
No two houses are exactly alike, but each mansion is approximately 37 inches tall and 34 inches wide and weighs about 26 pounds. Behind the shutters of each window is an original piece of artwork - including zombies, skeletons, witches, trick or treaters, and more - just waiting to make your October a little more chilling. There's even a crate on the porch that can be customized with the word of your choice! From the "No Trespassing" signs strung up around the house's exterior to the ghostly chimney dwellers and the eyes appearing out of the broken rooftop, every inch of this calendar is designed to make for a happy Halloween.
The entire mansion can also be plugged in, lighting up your home a little more each night as more shutters are opened. You can even customize the luminous background of the mansion, which features an ominous full moon, with the phrases "Happy Halloween" or "Trick or Treat."
Despite its eerie details, this Advent calendar definitely looks like something the whole family can enjoy . . . and I might have to get my family to pitch in for this one given the price tag. Jennifer Aniston Faces a Crisis in the New Trailer For Apple TV's The Morning Show
Yes, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston's morning news TV show is actually happening! And now, after what's felt like an eternity since first hearing that the pair were collaborating on the Apple series, we have a new glimpse at what's to come in the form of the first official trailer.
The Morning Show, described as a "high-stakes drama," is based on Brian Stelter's book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV about all the wars that go down behind the scenes of popular morning news shows. The TV adaptation will pull back the curtain on these interactions, centering on two anchors (Aniston and Steve Carell) who face a crisis when one (Aniston) throws the under (Carell) under the bus. The trailer is brief but dramatic, showing how Aniston's character grapples with a potential new co-anchor to her show (Reese Witherspoon) and a breakdown in the public eye.
Kerry Ehrin will serve as showrunner, while Mimi Leder, who's previously worked on ER and The Leftovers, is on board as one of the show's directors. We don't have a hard premiere date quite yet, but we do know that 1.) It's already been renewed for a second season, 2.) Each season will consist of 10 episodes, and 3.) We'll be able to watch The Morning Show on Apple TV+ at some point this Fall.

This 7-Foot Hairy Spider Lights Up - Good Grief, the Neighbors Are Gonna Hate You
Good readers of POPSUGAR, I write this post to you while hiding underneath my desk swathed in protective blankets because I'm absolutely terrified of this 7' Spider with LED Eyes Halloween Decoration ($47) that I've been staring at on Costco.com. The Halloween decoration has six eyes that illuminate with LED lights (why six? Do spiders have six eyes?!) and is battery-powered, so it can stay lit for six hours on your lawn while you horrify the neighbors and their families (and me). It's also hairy-looking, because being 7-feet isn't creepy enough - it has to have hair on it too! The product description says it's suitable for outdoors or indoors, but I can't for the life of me imagine why you'd want to bring this inside - unless, of course, you want to terrify your children. In which case, have at it! It's Halloween, after all.

Bachelor in Paradise: Here's What We Know About Kristian Haggerty, Demi's Girl Back Home
You never know what's going to happen on Bachelor in Paradise, and that rings true early on in season six. Demi Burnett had a connection with Derek Peth right away, but she had been holding something in that she finally felt comfortable to reveal to him.
Demi came out as being into both men and women, a part of herself that she was nervous about sharing, and she was casually dating a woman back home before coming to Paradise. Derek appreciated Demi being honest with her and supported her immediately. So now we need to know who this mystery woman is.
Meet Kristian Haggerty, the blond hottie Demi is seen straddling in Paradise. Little did we know she has a connection with another former Bachelor contestant Catherine Agro, who was also on Colton Underwood's season along with Demi, and they've been friends for nearly two decades. Demi said on camera, "I know I love this girl," so Kristian must be pretty special. Let's get to know her!
