Beyoncé Releases Over 80 Intimate, Never-Before-Seen Photos For Her 38th Birthday
When Beyoncé shared her Halloween tributes to Toni Braxton and athlete Florence Griffith Joyner last year, we were amazed. But Bey had another impressive costume up her sleeve: an ode to Lisa Bonet. On Friday, Bey posted a collection of photos from the past year to celebrate her 38th birthday. A handful of snaps reveal she dressed as the A Different World actress for Halloween last year, donning a gray gown with a top hat and sunglasses. And we have to say, she bore an eerily striking (and fierce) resemblance to the Hollywood icon while cradling 2-year-old twins Rumi and Sir.
More snaps capture memorable moments and events, including her trip to Sardinia, Italy, with JAY-Z, Leonardo DiCaprio's birthday party in November 2018 - where she wore a black and purple ensemble - and a Sunday brunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Along with the picture compilation, Bey included a sweet message to fans: "Thank you from the depths of me for all my birthday loving. I had an incredible B-day!" she wrote. "I'm grateful for every breath. I thank God for all of my blessings, my wins, and my losses." Ahead, read her full note before viewing all of her pictures!

Hershey's Bars With Bits of Whoppers Are Back on Shelves For the First Time Since 2005
Hershey's released a Whoppers chocolate bar back in 2005 as part of its Twosomes series, and 14 years later, it's back with a new look. Fans of malted chocolate balls will be delighted to know that Hershey's has released a Whoppers bar again, which was first reported by snackfluencer Markie Devo on Instagram and later spotted on shelves by Snacks From Around.
Self-proclaimed candy historian Collecting Candy (dream job, right?) was quick to correct rumors that this was a brand-new release - after all, not everybody remembers every single candy from the early '00s. "Kudos to Hershey's for making sure these outstanding offerings are being revived (and almost certainly revamped/improved) so that we can enjoy them without the benefit of a time machine," the candy expert wrote on Instagram. Hershey's Whoppers bars are reportedly exclusively available at Walmart, so get a peek inside the packaging ahead, and then find this rereleased treasure for yourself.

The Man Behind Mr. Jingles Has Already Played 2 American Horror Story Killers
While you processed the simultaneously poppy and freaky '80s vibe of American Horror Story: 1984, you might have scratched your head over why the terrifying Benjamin "Mr. Jingles" Richter, the ear-obsessed creep who killed nine campers, looks familiar. For those who know American Horror Story in and out, it's because the actor behind the murderer, John Carroll Lynch, has played a - let's say twisted - character before: Twisty the Clown from AHS: Freak Show. Plus, Lynch is a pretty prolific character actor who's been featured on the big and small screens over the years.
First, let's talk shop about his new character. AHS: 1984 immediately introduces us to Mr. Jingles in the first episode when the killer murdered nine people at Camp Redwood in 1970. There was one survivor from his attacks: Margaret Booth (Leslie Grossman), the evangelized owner of the camp in 1984. While Richter is incarcerated for years, he breaks loose from a mental hospital after faking his hanging. Before the camp murders, Richter was a Vietnam War soldier with a high kill count, dishonorably discharged when the Army discovered his DIY project where he made a necklace from his victims' ears. Back in America, he became a janitor at Camp Redwood. Margaret, a counselor on that murderous night, remembered the sound of his keys jingling before the attack. Thus, Mr. Jingles.
Lynch first appeared on season four of American Horror Story as Twisty the Clown, the deranged children's entertainer with a sad-turned-utterly bonkers backstory. After shooting off his lower jaw, Twisty emerged as a serial killer and mentored the spoiled Dandy Mott. Lynch reprised his creepy clown role in season seven in Oz Mayfair-Richards' nightmare. (In Cult, Twisty is a fictionalized comic book character.) He also briefly appears in AHS: Hotel as John Wayne Gacy . . . another serial killer.
Even before American Horror Story, Lynch has been a recognizable name on many TV shows and movies. His career first gained notoriety when he starred in the Coen brothers' Fargo as Frances McDormand's painter husband Norm. Some might also remember him as Steve, Drew Carey's cross-dressing brother on The Drew Carey Show. Additionally, he's worked with big-name movie directors like Clint Eastwood and John Woo as well, cast in supporting roles in action films such as Face/Off and Gran Torino.
And yes, Lynch has been in many a horror-thriller project outside of the Ryan Murphy universe. He's played creepy parts in The Invitation and Zodiac (above). In the latter movie, he portrayed Arthur Leigh Allen, a man suspected to be the Zodiac Killer. Lynch starred in the David Fincher thriller across Robert Downey Jr., Jake Gyllenhaal, and Mark Ruffalo long before their Marvel days.
We honestly can't wait to see how Lynch brings to life the terrifying Mr. Jingles as this season of AHS progresses. For now, there are plenty of his past projects we can enjoy as we wait for future episodes - the man has, after all, a whopping 120 acting credits to his name on IMDb.

Many Organic Tampons Are Better For the Environment, but Watch For These Things
If you're concerned about climate change and looking for environmentally friendly products to help combat the problem, you may be curious about organic tampons. Are they actually better than your go-to brand? Felice Gersh, MD, an award-winning ob-gyn, founder of the Integrative Medical Group of Irvine, and author of PCOS SOS: A Gynecologist's Lifeline To Naturally Restore Your Rhythms, Hormones and Happiness, told POPSUGAR that organic tampons are a healthier option in more ways than one.
"Organic tampons are definitely better for the environment - and the individual - than standard tampons," Dr. Gersh explained. This is because they don't contain toxic ingredients like pesticides, herbicides, bleaches, and disinfectants that are frequently present in standard tampons. (Though, to be fair, some experts argue that you encounter these chemicals in larger amounts in your everyday life.) "When tampons are disposed of, these issues become very important as the chemicals contained within their fibers can ultimately be released into the environment," she told POPSUGAR. She explained that while each tampon is a small piece of waste, the accumulation from millions of people using them each month is pretty big.
Dr. Gersh also pointed out that most standard tampons contain plastic applicators for vaginal insertion. These applicators aren't biodegradable and are harmful to many types of wildlife. "Even when they don't end up in lakes or the ocean, where they can kill the living creatures, they accumulate in landfills, and we have a limited supply of space on Earth to accommodate dumped garbage," she explained. Dr. Gersh noted that not all organic tampons have biodegradable applicators, but many do - so if you're switching to organic tampons, you'll want to double-check to ensure you're buying a brand that uses environmentally friendly applicators.
However, there is one downside to organic tampons: the amount of energy required to produce organic cotton. Samantha Radford, PhD, a chemist who focuses on environmental health, told POPSUGAR that the conventionally raised cotton used in nonorganic tampons is detrimental to the environment due to the large amount of pesticides, water, and energy required to produce it. But the issue isn't black and white. "The problem with organic cotton is that it still needs a lot of energy to produce, and it requires much more difficult physical labor for workers," Dr. Radford said. As an eco-friendly alternative, she suggested ditching tampons entirely in favor of menstrual cups.
"Once you buy one, it can last for years, and it's made of silicone, so it doesn't retain dangerous chemicals that can leach into your body," she explained. Dr. Radford told POPSUGAR that she's very happy with her Diva Cup, but there are also a number of other brands available in different lengths and sizes that will work for people from young teenagers to those who have had vaginal births. If you prefer to stick with tampons, organic is better for the environment - but they're not the only green menstrual product out there, so weigh your options.
If You've Just Been Dumped, "Doctor" Dax Shepard Has the Perfect Advice
Oh my God, Dax Shepard, are you sure you weren't a couples therapist in a past life? The hilariously handsome actor took over for Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday where he brought back his "Ask Dr. Dax" segment and offered some questionably sound relationship advice to multiple women in the audience. Ahead of the premiere of season two of Bless This Mess, Dax, who stressed that he is by no means a doctor, tackled everything from breakups, to, uh, returning favors in the bedroom, and even how to avoid traumatizing your children if they hear you having sex.
He kicked things off with a question from a woman who was unfortunately dumped the day before. "Obviously step one is bang all of his or her friends," Dax said jokingly. "Secondly, as a little personal mantra I have, I just say over and over again, 'This is temporary.' . . . You're going to feel completely different, you just have to be patient and feel the feelings, they're a gift." He also reminded someone, "You gotta state your needs," when expressing she wasn't receiving as much as she was giving in the bedroom.
Dax and his wife Kristen Bell have one of the sweetest celebrity marriages, and I would absolutely pay to have them dictate my dating life à la Dr. Dax. Watch the hilarious video above.
The Amityville Horror Is a Terrifying Legend - but Was It a Hoax?
Based on a well-documented story of paranormal hauntings, the 1979 film The Amityville Horror instantly became a cult classic, despite its poor critical reception. It's no surprise though, because the movie took root in a terrifying and sensationalized real case. The actual house in Amityville might just be the epitome of a haunted house. The story starts as many a ghost story does - with a family moving into a creepy new abode that has a horrifying history. In 1975, George and Kathleen Lutz brought their three children to a lovely Dutch Colonial home on 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, Long Island. But just a year before the family moved in, six people had been brutally murdered in the house. Now the residence is an iconic haunt - which may or may not be a total hoax.
What Is the House's Origin Story?
Let's rewind to November 13, 1974. 23-year-old Ronald DeFeo Jr. shot and murdered his four siblings and two parents in the ominous home. He reported to the police that "the voices from the house made him do it." He is currently serving six consecutive life sentences at the Green Haven Correctional Facility in Dutchess County, New York. In addition to this gruesome murder, the house is also believed to be built on a Shinnecock burial ground and was once linked to a satanist named John Ketchum, but there's definitely strong skepticism around these rumors.
What Happened in the House?
In December of 1975, the Lutz family moved in after buying the house at an extremely cheap price of $80,000. It was a steal for a 4,000 square foot house with waterfront access, a boathouse, heated swimming pool, garage, and full basement. But the family's stay would be short-lived, lasting a mere 28 days. In that month, the family experienced paranormal activity such as green slime oozing from the walls and demonic pigs lurking about. Additionally, they saw eyes peering from outside, heard untraceable noises, and smelled weird and pervasive odors. Kathleen apparently levitated in bed and George woke up at 3:15 A.M. each day - the time of the murders. When they asked a priest to bless their home, a haunted hand apparently slapped the holy man and told him to get out. And so the Lutzes ditched their new home.
The house (below) has a new address now - 108 Ocean Avenue in place of 112 - in an attempt to discourage visitors. The ominous "evil eye" windows have long-since been replaced with typical square windows for the same reason. It's had several different owners over the years, recently sold in 2017 for $605,000.

Was It a Hoax?
There's no denying the reach of the Amityville legend. Jay Anson published The Amityville Horror in 1977, basing his book off of the events that the Lutzes experienced in the home by using 45 hours of the family's recorded interviews. The book became a bestseller, inspiring many films, most notably the 1979 and 2005 movies of the same name. TV viewers may also notice similarities between the Amityville legend and shows such as American Horror Story: Roanoke.
As deeply entrenched as the legend is in horror culture, there's skepticism around it. According to The Seattle Times, Christopher Quaratino, one of the three Lutz children who lived in the house, maintains that the hauntings happened but that they were mostly hyped up by his former stepfather, George for profit. (George and Kathleen split in 1988.) Quaratino mentioned that George flirted with the paranormal and attempted to summon supernatural beings. The family was apparently in a lot of debt, and it's been speculated that a book and movie deal could have helped them get out of hot water.
Quaratino isn't the only person to introduce doubt to the legend. William Weber, the defense lawyer on DeFeo's case, told People Magazine in 1979 that Anson's book was a hoax. According to the lawyer, he and the Lutzes conjured up the story over bottles of wine. The Lutz family would sue Weber over the invasion of privacy, and Weber countersued for fraud and breach of contract. A judge nixed the Lutz case, and Weber settled out of court.
Whether the horror is true or fabricated, we can certainly say that the murders, spooks, and drama around the Amityville house makes for one hell of a ghost story.
