And they're off! On Monday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle kicked off their royal tour of Southern Africa. The couple's 4-month-old son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, has made the trip with his parents, but Harry and Meghan stepped out without him as they made their first appearance, visiting a workshop that teaches children about their rights, self-awareness, and safety. This Is Us kicks off its season four premiere with lots of change, just like the cast and writers previously promised. Tuesday night's episode introduces viewers to new characters and storylines, which, in true This Is Us fashion, left everyone guessing until the very end. The most pivotal of these introductions might be the big reveal about Kate and Toby's son, Jack, and his exciting future.
Warning: spoilers for This Is Us ahead.
The season premiere provides fans with glimpses into the life of a blind musician, who turns out to be Kate and Toby's son, Jack Damon, as an adult. This grown-up Jack is played by Blake Stadnik, a legally blind musical theater actor.
Jack goes throughout most of the episode unidentified, although we know he owns a supercute dog and he falls in love with (and marries) a diner waitress named Lucy. He writes songs about their relationship, and eventually they find out they're expecting a child together. Eventually, it's clear we've been watching a flash-forward of his life, and his identity comes into focus. In a flashback, we see Kate and Toby find out their son will be blind after his premature birth. Little do they know, he'll eventually follow in his mother and grandmother's footsteps and perform music in front of packed arenas.
Series creator Dan Fogelman said after a laborious casting process, Stadnik was "clearly the guy" to play Jack Damon. "It was an interesting casting process because we wanted to cast a blind actor. We had started our casting process very early, even in our off-season. I was looking for a leading man who was without sight and who could be funny, charming, accessible and sweet," Fogelman told Entertainment Tonight. "We wanted to find an actor who could be a leading man and [was] very handsome and very funny and looked great with his bare abs on national television, but also be able to stand in the Greek [Theatre] in front of a live audience and actually perform and sing a song. There were a lot of boxes to check."
That's high praise coming from the mind behind the show! It's unclear when we'll see Jack Damon next, but Fogelman promises this storyline "will be returned to." Knowing This Is Us, it'll come when we least expect it.

It's Easy to Slip Into Depression After College, and Maybe We Don't Talk About That Enough
There I was on stage, ready to accept the diploma that would be mailed to me several weeks later, turn my tassel to the other side, and officially become a college graduate. Four years of cramming for exams, writing papers, stumbling home with friends from bars, sleeping too little or too much, and everything in between were over. It was time to take everything I had learned and tackle life after college. And yet, as soon as I turned that tassel, I wanted to turn it back. I wasn't ready to move on, and it wasn't long before I fell into a depression.
Earning my diploma should have prompted joy, and instead I felt despair.
Depression is a familiar foe I know all too well. I've battled depression since I was 13 - I know what it looks and feels like - but the depression I experienced after graduating was unlike anything I had dealt with before. I felt this immense loss in the pit of my stomach, like I wanted to run as fast as I could, but I didn't know where to go. I soon realized that what I wanted was to retreat back to college, where I could remain protected within the walls of academia, but that wasn't an option.
This particular form of depression is even more isolating because of the obvious contradiction. Graduating from college is supposed to be a milestone, a time for celebration. The cards from friends and family read "congratulations," not "sorry for your loss." Earning my diploma should have prompted joy, and instead I felt despair. Though I knew I wanted to work in journalism, I was unemployed. I had to abandon my plan to move to Brooklyn with my best friend, who already had a job lined up. I wanted to build a time machine so badly that I searched for YouTube tutorials.
Instead of transporting back in time, I settled into a new routine: spending every day on my laptop applying for jobs in my pajamas. While job boards are useful tools, it didn't take long for me to realize that I was a faceless applicant in a sea of hundreds, maybe thousands. Most places I applied to didn't even send me a formal rejection. It was bleak and disheartening. I began to feel like my college education had failed me. That I had failed me. I had worked so hard to get good grades while juggling passion projects and internships, and yet here I was spending my Summer moving from one stage of grief to the next: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, hold the acceptance.
It helped to reconnect with my friends who, whether they had jobs or had already moved out, were also struggling.
You often lose yourself in depression, something I couldn't afford to do at a time when I was supposed to be building a new life for myself. But that's exactly what happened: I started to gain weight, because I overindulge when I'm depressed and I was living at home, where the refrigerator was stocked with groceries I didn't have to buy. Getting out of bed in the morning was near impossible. I was both desperate for a job and unmoved by any of the openings. There were days when I didn't apply to anything at all and instead sulked in bed. Some evenings I just sat and cried. It was as if I had no fight left.
After a couple months, I started to feel like I could see the way out of the hole of my depression. It helped to reconnect with my friends who, whether they had jobs or had already moved out, were also struggling. It was just good to know I wasn't alone.
I realized that I could either accept this new normal or make a move to change it. So I stopped wishing for control over those job rejections and instead focused on making myself the best candidate I could be. I began networking, while keeping my options open for things like grad school and fellowships. And eventually I realized that graduating college isn't a life sentence, but in fact the opposite - I have the rest of my life ahead of me, and that's only isolating and scary if I allow it to be. The Very Best Moments Caught on Camera From This Year's Emmy Awards
The 71st annual Emmy Awards took place in LA on Sunday evening, and the hostless show did not disappoint. Chernobyl, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Fleabag, and Game of Thrones were some of the big winners of the evening, while stars like Jharrel Jerome, Bill Hader, Julia Garner, and more took home awards of their own. BBC Head of Comedy Josh Cole shared a photo of the 34-year-old juggernaut at an afterparty basking in the glory of her exciting (and, let's be honest, exhausting) night. She's seen holding a cigarette in one hand and a cocktail in the other, surrounded by her glittering golden trophies.
In the Instagram comments, Josh confirmed that this photo is actually modeled after Faye Dunaway's iconic "Morning After" shot from the 1977 Oscars. Phoebe adopted a similar badass energy in her own pose, and it quickly brought fans on social media to their knees. Our new look at Disney's Frozen 2 is an intense one, that teases Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel) is in grave danger. In addition to being trapped on what looks like a rocky island surrounded by a massive, roiling body of water, it seems she's all that stands between Arendelle potentially being destroyed forever thanks to a mysterious (and tragic) event from the past. Alex Borstein Takes Her Brilliant Emmys Speech From Profane to Profoundly Inspiring
We already know Alex Borstein deserves all the accolades for her role as as Susie Myerson on Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but damn do her Emmys speeches deserve their own wins.
The actress won outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series for the second year in a row, and though she started off by joking about upsetting viewers with her braless appearance at last year's Emmys, she wrapped up her speech with a rousing call for action.
The Emmy winner dedicated her award to "the strength of a woman," thanking show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, as well as the other women on the Mrs. Maisel cast before she went on to thanking her mother and her grandmother. "My grandmother was in line to be shot into a pit and she turned to a guard and said, "What happens if I step out of line?" He said, "I don't have the heart to shoot you, but someone will." she revealed. "For that I am here and my children are here. So step out of line, ladies. Step out of line."
