The King's Man: See How It All Began in the Epic New Trailer For the Kingsman Prequel
Although it doesn't look like we'll be seeing Taron Egerton or Colin Firth in the new Kingsman prequel, the new film does have a pretty kick-ass cast. Ralph Fiennes stars as the "Duke of Oxford," who appears to be leading the very first iteration of the secret, independent intelligence agency we now know and love, while Gemma Arterton, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, and Djimon Hounsou round out the rest of the cast.
As far as plot is concerned, we'll get to see what spurs the formation of the Kingsman: history's most infamous tyrants and criminal masterminds decide to team up to plot a war that will kill millions of people. (It's not Samuel L. Jackson creating evil cell phones or Julianne Moore putting dudes in a meat grinder, but we'll take it.) The new trailer is actually quite similar to the first teaser, which was released during the Summer. It starts with a similar shot - a sweeping view of a war-torn battleground - and then quickly descends into a mishmash of epic fighting scenes, soundtracked with equally epic music. You can be sure this film will be a wild, action-packed ride. Check out the full trailer above before the film arrives in February 2020.

A Photographer Staged a Grinch-Themed Holiday Photo Shoot, and It Does Not Disappoint
Back when I was a little kid over 20 years ago, I remember my mom "surprising me" with a stuffed Grinch after my holiday recital. As soon as she presented me with my new toy, I immediately went berserk and demanded that my dad sleep on the couch to protect my gifts from my new green foe. Looking back, I find it absolutely hysterical. And thankfully, this kind of humor isn't lost upon the latest generation of parents. Kim Durham - the owner of KD Photography based out of Gravette, AR - has recently started doing Grinch-themed photo shoots, and boy, are they a f*cking hit among parents.
While Kim says she wasn't the first person to think of the idea, she was inspired while doing housework one day. "A few months ago I was watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas while folding laundry and it reminded me of something similar I saw last Winter," Kim told POPSUGAR. After throwing together a costume, Kim got to work shooting, charging families $85 per session.
The idea instantly took off for the holiday season. By the end of September, Kim was completely booked through most of the Winter. In fact, a couple is traveling from as far as California to have their children's photo done. And while there are some unhappy faces, Kim assures parents that it's all in good fun. "Our Grinch doesn't always cause the tears - we have kisses, hugs, and little baby snuggles, too!" she wrote in a Facebook post. "Don't be alarmed, the kids in this photo aren't traumatized! They high-fived, hugged, and gave our Grinch fist bumps at the end. The parents are close by!"
Scroll ahead to get a look at these hysterical photos that will surely get you in a premature holiday spirit.

Servant: M. Night Shyamalan's New Horror Series For Apple TV Sounds Downright Chilling
M. Night Shyamalan is back with another chilling story - are you ready?
The horror auteur has teamed up with Apple TV+ for a new series, Servant, which is being billed as a psychological thriller. According to the network, the show will follow a Philadelphia couple "in mourning after an unspeakable tragedy creates a rift in their marriage and opens the door for a mysterious force to enter their home." Uh-oh.
The first teasers for the series - which you can watch at the end of this post - aired during the Emmys. One shows a baby swing in a seemingly nice, normal living room, aimed at a TV newscast. The swing is seen rocking back and forth, and when the camera swings around to show what's sitting in said swing, it's not a baby - it's a baby doll. (Do we have another Annabelle on our hands, or what?) The second involves a very ominous cricket. (Yes, a cricket.)
The show is set to premiere on Nov. 1 and has quite the cast: Tony Kebbell (Fantastic Four), Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under), Nell Tiger Free (Game of Thrones), and Rupert Grint (Snatch). Further details about Servant (like if Shyamalan will make one of his trademark cameos) will be revealed during the show's panel at New York Comic-Con, which will include exclusive first-look footage and a discussion with Shyamalan.
These Are the 3 Classic Songs That Ben Platt Covers on The Politician
Netflix's The Politician is a story filled with political intrigue, medical drama, crime solving, and, most surprisingly, random musical moments! Of course, with a star-packed cast featuring musical darlings like Ben Platt and Laura Dreyfuss, it's no surprise that creator Ryan Murphy snuck in some time for the stars to show off their vocal prowess.
Most notably, despite his constant fumbling when it comes to running for class president and generally interacting with other human beings, Platt's Payton is gifted with a voice of an angel and gets to flaunt it three times in the first season. He breaks our heart with his performance of "River" in the first episode and has a duet with Zoey Deutch's Infinity in episode six that's beautiful as much as it is disturbing.
Since season two is already a done deal, we hope Murphy gives us some more moments to hear the cast show off their talents! In the meantime, check out all the songs Platt covers over the eight-episode season ahead.

Sooo, This Woman Sneakily Took Her Sister's Engagement Photos While Disguised as a Bush
There are no lengths Therese Merkel wouldn't go to for her older sister Rachel, and that includes disguising herself as a bush to snap some super sweet engagement photos. Yep, a week before Rachel's then-boyfriend Andrew Philibeck planned to propose, Therese and her brother Ryan walked the trail to Picnic Point in Madison, WI (aka the proposal spot) to devise the perfect plan for their sister's engagement. "I was like 'Haha, what if I was a bush?" and Andrew is the one who really ran with it," Therese told POPSUGAR via email. "I got this text [from him] later that night . . . It was then real."
A month before the engagement, Andrew called Therese to ask for her approval before he proposed, and to ask for some help in crafting an engagment plan Rachel would never forget. Almost immediately, Therese, the family videographer, knew she was going to have to figure out a way to video tape her sister's reaction during the big moment . . . in secret, of course.
Andrew called ahead to get special permission to decorate Pincic Point with sunflowers - Rachel's favorite flowers - and glowing lanterns. Then, at sundown on Sept. 21, Therese got into position, blending in almost seamlessly with the trees and shrubbery around her. "While I was hiding, I had the perfect view of the whole thing," she said. "Andrew knew I was hiding and wasn't even sure I was there when he walked down - that's how baller this suit was. He wrote her a loving poem, and then got down on one knee - well, at least tried, because the ring got stuck in his pocket during attempt one . . . She said yes during attempt two."
"Rachel was very confused and I was legit crying tears of joy because of how special the whole event was."
During the proposal, Ryan and a few others were posted further down the trail to make sure the coast was clear for the sweet moment and Therese's hilarious reveal. "I revealed my organic-looking self by screaming 'SHE SAID YES! SHE SAID YES!'" Therese explained. "Rachel was very confused and I was legit crying tears of joy because of how special the whole event was. I wore the suit the full mile hike back . . . and yes, I did have Rachel give me a tick check when we got back to my place."
Afterwards, both Andrew and Rachel's immediate families got together for a suprise party, in which Therese was (probably) not disguised as a bush. "The bush was one of the 4,932 things Andrew did to make the day super awesome and family-oriented," Therese added, pointing out the surprise party, the creative engagment, and Rachel's gorgeous engagement ring as just a few elements that made the day so special.
In addition to all of Andrew's thoughtful planning, Therese's dedication to capturing Rachel's immediate reaction proves just how far a sister-sister duo will go for each other. So sweet! See more photos of Therese's fantastic costume and the shrub-tastic engagment ahead.
In the Land of Social Media Trolls, Arielle Vandenberg Just Wants to Spread Positivity
Source: Getty / Charley Gallay
If you're one of Arielle Vandenberg's 1.3 million Instagram followers, you already know that she's a delight to follow and an expert at creating funny videos. You might also enjoy listening to her podcast, The Only Child, or watching her host Love Island. But what you might not know is that years of hard work and persevering through countless auditions and rejections led her to where she is today.
The 33-year-old spoke on a panel titled "The Industry of Influence" at Create & Cultivate's recent conference in San Francisco alongside other big names in the social media space, including the Skinny Confidential's Lauryn Bosstick and Megan Roup, creator of the Sculpt Society. After catching up with her backstage, I learned that Arielle is not only just as friendly, charismatic, and gorgeous IRL as she seems on Instagram, but she also has a lot to say about what being an "influencer" is really like and how it's never too late to start something you're passionate about.
P.S. - she reads her DMs, and positive comments make her day.
POPSUGAR: From Vine to Instagram and YouTube to your first podcast, and of course, onscreen jobs, you've been cultivating an online career for a long time. Where do you see the whole influencer market going, especially since it's more saturated than ever?
Arielle Vandenberg: It is so saturated, and for influencers, it's actually very hard. But for businesses and marketing purposes, it's incredible because there's so much content to be created and so many businesses that need that specific person. It's just going to get bigger and better every day. I've done so many commercials ever since I was 16 years old, and there are not that many commercial auditions anymore. It's all influencer - it's all brand content on social media. It's pretty crazy.
"If you're good at what you're doing and you believe in it and you're passionate about it, that's truly what will show."
PS: Knowing that, would you tell people that it's too late to try to break into the social media industry?
AV: I would never tell someone it's too late for anything, but it's definitely harder. It's harder to get recognized and noticed because so many people are doing it. But if you're really good at something, that will shine, and that will get recognition no matter how late it is; it doesn't matter. If you're good at what you're doing and you believe in it and you're passionate about it, that's truly what will show and what people will gravitate toward.
PS: What would you say to people who don't realize how much work it takes to build an online presence with a lot of personality? There's got to be more going on behind the scenes than we know.
AV: I didn't know how to direct; I didn't go to school for that. I didn't know how to edit. I truly taught myself a lot of the things that I do and that people see. I didn't know the first thing about Premiere Pro. An easy way to get into what I was doing was iMovie, and then I was like, I need so much more than just iMovie. So I decided, I'm going to teach myself Premiere Pro, which is a whole other thing. I do have an agent, and they do help me get brand deals and all of that. But when it comes to my own content, I'm scheduling people, and getting people in the same room is the hardest part. But I'm so happy I'm doing it now. The hardest part is when you give what you think is a finished product to a brand, and the brand goes, "No." You have to be so specific when you're working with a brand. You have to create what they want to see, and it's like, "Well, you booked me for me, but I get it; it's your brand."
PS: How do you handle negative comments/trolls/naysayers?
AV: There are one-off idiots that write me and are like, "You're not funny," and I'm like, "Cool, have fun today going on with that negativity." But truly, I have the most incredible people following me. It's amazing. But, I experienced it when I first started out.
PS: What's the best part of your job? The worst?
AV: The best part is I get to make my own schedule. I love working for myself. I love being able to create with my fiancé [Arielle and Matt Cutshall recently got engaged!] I love being able to create with him. There are so many times when I'm so frustrated, and I'm like, "Why am I frustrated? I'm at my house on my couch with my fiancé." The worst part is when I think I have the best video ever, and then it tanks [laughs]. I'm like, "Oh this video's gonna crush," and it gets like five likes, and I'm like, "Dammit, I spent so much time on it!"
PS: When you think about younger people growing up in such a social-media-focused world, what excites you about where things are heading?
AV: Every day, there's a new way to create your own path. There's a new way to succeed. Honestly, it's creating jobs, it's creating confidence, it's creating positivity, and obviously, there are negative things to it, too. But if people just continue to be positive about being on social media if they have an audience, I think that's the coolest thing - spreading positivity.

This Tim Burton-Themed Wedding Included a Drop-Dead-Gorgeous Vintage Wedding Dress
Lydia and Ed met years ago while they were both DJs in the electronic music scene, and they hit it off immediately. The two never had a traditional relationship, so after Ed popped the question on their 10-year anniversary, a conventional wedding was out of the question. While planning for their big day, the couple decided to have a so-called "Hallo-wedding," and base their ceremony off the Tim Burton movie Corpse Bride. With help from their family home, which is situated on an idyllic lake in North Carolina, Lydia and Ed held their chilling (and charming) Halloween wedding in the comfort of their backyard. The soon-to-be bride requested dead and dried flowers for the bouquets, and decided on a hauntingly beautiful dark purple and blue color scheme. The groom built the wedding's arbor by hand, while Lydia's stepmom and best friend decorated it with tea lights and butterflies. There was Halloween-themed music during the cocktail hour, spooky signature drinks served at the bar, and costumes worn by everyone in attendance.
Aside from the decor, there were many other details that made this Tim Burton-themed wedding a truly chilling celebration. Ed's suit was specially made to mirror the era of clothing shown in Corpse Bride, and it matched the character's outfit to a tee. Both the bride and groom had thorough makeup applied to their face and bodies in order to match each of their character's skin tone and overall eerie effect, which made the day that much more enchanting.
