Demi Lovato Just Conquered the Demanding Gig of Super Bowl National Anthem Performer
Demi Lovato has taken on one of the most vocally demanding gigs in the business. A week after performing her new single, "Anyone," at the Grammy Awards, the 27-year-old singer nailed the national anthem at the 2020 Super Bowl in Miami on Feb. 2. Lovato follows Gladys Knight, who sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" last year, while Chloe and Halle Bailey delivered an ethereal performance of "America the Beautiful."
The Super Bowl wasn't Lovato's first time performing the national anthem: she previously performed it during the 2015 World Series, and again at the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor boxing match in 2017. It did, however, mark a significant moment for Lovato, who has made an inspiring comeback since her hospitalization from an apparent overdose in 2018.
The big game certainly isn't lacking in stars, with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira performing the coveted halftime show. Perhaps Lovato will join them on stage? Hey, crazier things have happened. (Lest we forget last year's SpongeBob SquarePants moment.) Check out Lovato's performance ahead, plus her Super Bowl announcement, and then enjoy her national anthem performance from 2015.
Whether You Lead With Your Head or Your Heart Says a Lot About Your Personality
When it comes to making big decisions, you probably lean more toward thinking with your head or your heart, as it's typically ingrained in your character. There's not one right way to respond to a situation, but sometimes certain circumstances might benefit you better when you think in a particular way, even if you just don't quite know it yet. The best way to manage your thought process is to find a healthy balance where you can make decisions using both and realize which method might serve you best. Here are some tips for understanding whether you're prone to leading with your heart or focusing more on what you're head is saying, and how to navigate these situations when you're looking for the perfect answer that most resonates with what you really need.
You're Leading With Your Head
"Leading with your head is cognitive process that involves self-awareness and typically weighing the pros and cons of a situation. It's typically not a quick or impulsive decision, but something people feel like they have a good reason to do or that will produce a beneficial outcome," Dr. Holly Richmond, PhD, a somatic psychologist, licensed marriage and family therapist, and sex therapist, told POPSUGAR.
"It may involve consequential thinking, which means you play out the outcome in your head if you were to engage in certain actions. It also may involve planning out steps to take to achieve your goal," said Kimberly Hershenson, LMSW.
"An example of leading with your head is: someone asks you to go on a spur-of-the-moment trip for the weekend that sounds amazing and you want to go, but then you think about the things you need to do and how tired you might be heading back to work Monday morning, and you decide it's not a good idea," Richmond said. In general, situations that provoke leading with your head tend to have some explicit risk involved, meaning if you choose to do the thing your head is telling you not to, there could be a negative impact, she said.
You're Leading With Your Heart
Leading with your heart is the opposite of cognitive thinking - it's a somatic, body-based process. "Leading with your heart is a gut reaction, where you might find yourself saying something like, 'This just feels like the right thing to do.' Instead of thinking about a decision, you feel about it. There is a felt sense of what you need and what you want," Richmond said. "This often feels chancy - like, '[Damn], I hope this works out!' but not doing it would be soul crushing and leave you with regrets," she said. "Often people have a gut instinct which goes against what logical thinking will tell them," which can freak them out, added Hershenson.
"I see people struggle most with leading with their heart when it comes to relationships. There are no guarantees in any relationships, especially new relationships where the foundation of trust isn't established yet, so there's always a risk of getting deeply hurt if you lead with your heart," she said. When people lead with their heart, it may feel like a bigger risk than if they lead with their head (an emotional risk vs. a negative practical outcome), but there's also the potential for bigger reward, she said.
How to Know Which to Use
If you know you are a fairly impulsive person and can look back at several not-so-great decisions you made, it's worth taking time with the next choice that feels like a tug-of-war between what you want to do and what you know you should do. "Take a deep breath and pause for one minute to consider the pros and cons. Play out the best-case scenario and the worst-case scenario and use your head to discern which direction you believe the situation will go," said Richmond.
Similarly, if you are a cautious person and a worrier, leading with your heart and trusting your gut also requires you to be present and take a moment to cultivate that felt sense of what it is you want. "I don't recommend that people weigh the pros and cons when they are already critical thinkers (they do that naturally), but instead that they pay attention to what their body is feeling and where. That could sound like, 'I feel excited. My heart is pounding in my chest.' Finding the balance between the excitement of taking a risk with the presence of mind and body to truly assess all possibilities is a great goal to shoot for," she said.
Training yourself to tune into your heart and turn off your head is a matter of practice in mindfulness and self-awareness. "It's taking the time to check in with yourself to notice if the decision sits well with you. A quick way to assess that is by asking, 'Am I second-guessing myself?' If so, take a deep breath, go for a walk, or sit quietly and visualize the decision in pictures rather than thinking about it in words," said Richmond.
Also, notice if you feel happy, hopeful, scared, or anxious when you think about one outcome over the other. The body holds so many answers, and by tuning in, we have the potential to be in a place that feels authentic, self-aware, and self-assured, she said.
Any Clues Based on the Situation?
This could be helpful with regard to big-life scenarios. "Big life examples - a new job for sure. Where finances are involved (which has an enormous impact on your quality of life), leading with your head can be a safer bet. That's not to say never take a risk to pursue your passion, but just be sure you have an accurate perception of what's involved and are prepared if things don't go exactly as planned," said Richmond.
On the other hand, relationships are tough. "I almost always encourage my clients to lead with their heart. A relationship that is based on a business decision, as in, 'He looks great on paper,' almost never end well. Your heart has to be in it. There needs to be longing, passion, love, lust . . . all of the complex emotions we experience when we're choosing a partner to spend our lives with," she said.
A takeaway: "In matters of business and finances, leading with your head can be the safer bet, but in matters of relationships and love, I think leading with the heart pays off in the long run," said Richmond.

Black Widow: Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh Kick Ass in New Super Bowl Trailer
The fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally upon us, team. On Feb. 2, Marvel dropped a special Super Bowl trailer for Black Widow - a follow-up to the trailers released in January - and, damn, it looks so freaking good.
The first teaser trailer begins with a montage of Black Widow's most memorable moments. That means the first 20 seconds of the trailer is largely a mash-up of footage from previous Marvel films, with Scarlett Johansson's character, Natasha Romanoff, giving a solemn monologue over the top. "I used to have nothing. And then I got this job, this family, but nothing lasts forever," she says, referring to her fellow Avengers.
The pinnacle of the other trailers are a fight scene with Florence Pugh, who is playing Yelena Belova, and when David Harbour's character, Alexei, turns up. There are a few under-the-radar details that MCU Twitter was quick to notice, comment on, and fall madly in love with - like the fact Yelena Belova is wearing the green vest that Natasha wore in Infinity War and also Alexei's line, "Family. Back together again." In the new Super Bowl trailer, there's more epic fight scenes and Natasha teaming up with her family before the Avengers, working with her "sister" and kicking serious ass in the process. We even get a glimpse inside the widow assassin school (the "new world of widows," as Natasha calls it) and see a pyrotechnic-rich gunfight between Natasha and a masked enemy.
Watch all the trailers for Black Widow ahead and get ready for the worldwide premiere on May 1, 2020. We. can't. wait.
Blue Ivy Took the Super Bowl Field With JAY-Z, and Suddenly I Have a Team to Root For
I'm not saying Blue Ivy Carter invented the Super Bowl, but I'm also not not saying it. Beyoncé and JAY-Z's oldest daughter stole the show as she took the field with her dad before Sunday's game in Miami, and it's difficult to think of anything better than seeing Blue toss a football on the sport's biggest night.
JAY-Z's entertainment agency, ROC Nation, teamed up with the NFL for the game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. After snapping some photos of Blue on the turf, the duo joined Beyoncé in the stands to enjoy the night. Many fans still have their fingers crossed for a surprise Queen Bey performance during Jennifer Lopez and Shakira's halftime show, but even if we're not-so-lucky, we'll always have these snaps of Blue owning the field.
You've Been Pronouncing Timothée Chalamet's Name Wrong This Whole Time
Timothée Chalamet just keeps getting more and more buzz every year. He's starred in huge movies like 2019's Little Women and Call Me by Your Name, which really got everyone talking about him in 2017. But we have some big news for you - you've probably been pronouncing his name wrong all along.
Timothée was born and raised in America, but his father is from France, which explains his unique name. Despite the accent mark, he pronounces his first name how you would imagine - "Timothy." However, he has said in various interviews that's supposed to be "Tim-o-tay," not Timothy. Sounds like he's fine with you saying it either way, though!
The actor's last name is a tad bit trickier. You may have been thinking it's "Shal-met" or even "Chal-met," but it has way more flair. Thankfully, back in 2014, when he was starring in Showtime's Homeland, Timothée was interviewed by Teen Vogue where he offered up a proper pronunciation of his name. Say it with us everyone, it's "Shal-uh-may." Not too hard, right?
According to houseofnames.com, Chalamet is a noble French surname. The name originates from the Lorraine area of France. As for Timothée, the French variation of the English name means "honoring God."
Timothée's parents appear to have given him the best of both worlds when he was growing up. The young actor was born and raised in New York City, but he speaks French fluently. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Timothée revealed he spent his Summers in France when he was growing up. His experience with one of the romance languages paid off when he decided to learn how to speak Italian for Call Me by Your Name.
Now you can confidently talk about Timothée with everyone while raving about Little Women or complaining about his tiny mustache that he's working on!
18 Inspiring Netflix Shows Committed to Representing People With Disabilities
According to a report published by the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention in August 2018, one in four adults have a disability. Unfortunately, only 2.1 percent of regular characters on primetime TV in the 2018-2019 season actually had a disability, per a recent report from GLAAD. Disability representation includes characters with both visible and invisible disabilities - such as blindness, deafness, and genetic disorders, as well as those with mental challenges and illnesses - and we are far from having accurate representation in TV.
However, just like with racially diverse characters and LGBTQ+ characters, Netflix continues to push for inclusivity by incorporating characters with disabilities into its shows. Here are just 18 shows that are working to portray what it's like to live your life with a disability.

The youngster attended this year's Super Bowl with dad JAY-Z to watch the San Francisco 49ers play against the Kansas City Chiefs. TBH, I'm not that surprised that Blue's outfit was that amazing because she's already worn so many amazing outfit and has a personal stylist.
For the game, Blue wore a leather jacket paired with a matching miniskirt. She styled a red ruffled top underneath her leather jacket for a pop of color. To complete her look, she wore a pair of studded black combat boots with buckles on the sides. JAY-Z was all smiles with his daughter and even took pictures of Blue jumping on the field. The rapper was also dressed in a casual but cool outfit consisting of a two-tone jacket with a white tee and black joggers. Keep reading to see her adorable outfit ahead.
Demi Lovato Has the Voice of an Angel (and the Pantsuit of an Angel, Too)
Demi Lovato chose to wear a white tuxedo-style jumpsuit to sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl LIV in Miami. The first thing we thought? Well, this is in keeping with her all-white theme that she carried out at the Grammy Awards in a Christian Siriano gown. The angelic look was played up with a glossy lip and dewy makeup look. Demi wore a crystal-encrusted bralette that peeked out from under the lapels of her pantsuit. The waist was cinched with a matching belt and Demi wore diamond rings, drop earrings, and platform shoes. We like how effortless this look is. It's just as effortless as the way she sang - she truly makes a performance look easy, and the outfit completely fit the bill. Scroll down for every angle of this memorable moment for the 27-year-old star, who has dreamed about this opportunity for a long time.

The anticipation of finding out who Pilot Pete will give his final rose to on season 24 of The Bachelor has us reminiscing about those early Bachelor seasons and wondering what the couples are up to now. Most importantly, who are they seeing and what are their relationship statuses? We all know the group of former contestants from the reality TV dating show is an incestuous bunch, and it can be difficult to keep track of who's with whom. So we're breaking it down from the beginning to give you the scoop on where the last couples standing from each of the 23 seasons of The Bachelor are now. And in case you missed it, the previous Bachelor, Colton Underwood, ended up with Cassie Randolph after a dramatic season finale, and they're still going strong! See if all the other couples made it out this happy and lived out their Bachelor fairy tale, or if their love was only made for the screen. The final rose is just the beginning . . .

Did You Happen to Catch That "Sleazy" Reference in The Good Place's Series Finale?
Fans of NBC's The Good Place said goodbye to their favorite dumdums, fire squid, and not-a-girl during the Jan. 30 series finale, and the episode was full of surprise appearances and enough nuggets of wisdom to keep viewers content for thousands of Jeremy Bearimies to come. For a series that inspired fans to question every aspect of their existence, The Good Place's conclusion was beautifully definite, with all of Team Cockroach finding their peace at last. And it all ended with one "sleazy" Easter egg that would warm the most heartless of all beings. Or even Mindy St. Clair.
As the finale draws to a close, each of the main cast has experienced a moment of realization that signals their ultimate contentment with the afterlife and means it's time for them to move on by walking through the "final door" that is the actual final destination for all souls. Tahani (Jameela Jamil) and Janet (D'Arcy Carden) are the only two who stay in the afterlife, with the former staying behind to become an architect for souls who enter the Good Place and Janet remaining the afterlife's Janet.

As Eleanor (Kristen Bell) walks through the doorway, she dissolves into tiny, glowing bits of light, which eventually float all the way to Earth. She lands on a random man in Arizona who's in the middle of throwing away someone else's mail. Before he goes too far, he seems to have a moment of clarity and decides to deliver the letter to his neighbor - the newly human Michael (Ted Danson), who Eleanor aided in returning to Earth to live out the rest of his life as a human before going through the new afterlife system himself.
The piece of mail, addressed to Michael Realman, because that is absolutely the name Janet and Michael would have come up with, is a membership card to Coyote Joe's, which delights the former demon. This moment is important for two reasons: The first is that it signifies that Chidi's theory was right, that the "energy" of everyone who moves on becomes part of the universe at large and inspires kindness at every turn. It's also a callback to Eleanor's first truly unselfish act back in season three's mind-melting episode "Jeremy Bearimy." Eleanor finds a wallet while at a bar, and instead of keeping the contents solely for herself, she decides to return it to its owner.
As Chidi theorized, Eleanor's bit of light is a reminder of the first good deed she performed on Earth, and it inspires a similar act of kindness for the man she landed on. And to seal the perfect moment, Michael thanks his neighbor with a heartfelt response with a bit of Eleanor-like crassness thrown in. "I'll say this to you, my friend, with all the love in my heart and all the wisdom of the universe," he says. "Take it sleazy."

1995 Called, and Honestly, It's Really Proud of These Beauty Looks From the Oscars
The '90s truly were an iconic time for beauty-lovers. Both the great trends - like grungy eye shadow and brown-nude lips - and the not-so-great (see: overplucked eyebrows) gifted us with some very memorable red carpet moments, including the many on the 1995 Oscars red carpet. Twenty-five years ago, berry-toned lips, dark - but thin - brows, and hair that had been sitting in rollers all day was the look that every celeb wanted to emulate. Actresses like Rita Wilson, Kelly Preston, and even a 13-year-old Anna Paquin kept their skin natural and porcelain-like, but they added a bit of oomph with a darker berry lipstick. And, of course, who can forget Sarah Jessica Parker's perfectly bouncy coif? Here are some of our favorite beauty looks from the 1995 Academy Awards.
18 Films Even Sexier Than Fifty Shades of Grey
Fifty Shades of Grey is an undeniably sexy film, but it's certainly not the only erotic movie out there that explores more singular sexual tastes. From bondage and BDSM to pure, passionate sex, we've rounded up movies that give Fifty Shades a run for its money when it comes to sex-filled scenes and interesting additions in the bedroom (or the car, or the bathroom floor, or the middle of a room filled with masked members of a secret society). If you're up for something a little different than your average romance, then these movies are sure to satisfy.
Dr. Doofenshmirtz From Phineas and Ferb Sang Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy" - You Read That Right
In the era of Billie Eilish, you can see (and hear) "Bad Guy" covers left and right. Yet, for some reason, I wasn't expecting Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb to step into the ring. Dan Povenmire, the man behind the iconic character, recently gave "Bad Guy" his own spin during a holiday party and shared a YouTube video of the whole act on Jan. 25. He tweaked Eilish's lyrics to pay tribute to the wacky Doofenshmirtz and his feud with Perry the Platypus. This is 2020, y'all.
Twitter is forever in debt to the person who asked for this, since the video has already gained over 1 million views in a few days. I guess the people know what they want and what they want is . . . Dr. Heinz Doofernshmirtz. Watch the clip above to see all the ridiculous hilarity go down.
