Back to Las Encinas! Netflix's Renews Elite For an "Intense" Season 4

Netflix's Elite has been renewed for season four, so more drama awaits! On May 22, costars Itzan Escamilla, Claudia Salas, Georgina Amorós, Miguel Bernardeau, Arón Piper, and Omar Ayuso confirmed the news in a video, saying that they've already received the script. "You better be prepared, because it's intense," Piper says. Amorós also teased a powerful season, saying, "I wish I could see your faces when you watch it because you're going to flip out. There are many new things going on you could never think of."

The announcement came only two months after the third installment dropped on the streaming platform and totally shook things up. At the end of chapter three, we see how each of the main characters go their separate ways, except for Guzman (Bernardeau), Samuel (Bernardeau), Omar (Ayuso), Ander (Piper), and Rebeca (Salas) who return to Las Encinas to repeat senior year. But with the season's big murder mystery already solved, we can't help but wonder: what sort of betrayal, slander, and conflict will make its way to the forefront of the upcoming episodes? Netflix hasn't unveiled the release date, yet, but we're waiting for it with bated breath.

Netflix Dropped The Kissing Booth's Deleted Scenes, So We Finally Get More Elle and Noah

It's been over two years since Netflix dropped The Kissing Booth, and we're still counting down the days until the sequel - coming July 24, mark your calendars! The streaming service must know fans are patiently waiting for the next installment, because they recently released some deleted scenes that didn't make it into the first film. From a never-before-seen moment between Noah and Elle (played by Jacob Elordi and Joey King) to a sweet scene between Elle and Rachel, there's plenty to hold us over for the next two months. Watch the video above and decide for yourself: Did these clips deserve to make the final cut? Either way, we're glad we get to enjoy them now!

74 Snaps That Prove Ashley Graham Is Ridiculously Sexy

Ashley Graham made headlines thanks to prime placement in 2016's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The size-14 stunner's ad campaign for swimsuit retailer SwimsuitsForAll was also the first-ever plus-size swimsuit ad to run in the annual issue in 2015. Ashley has been a working model since the early 2000s and has become something of an advocate for introducing more plus-size models in the fashion industry and promoting body positivity in general. Back in May 2016, she steamed up the video for DNCE's "Toothbrush," starring as Joe Jonas's love interest.

In a previous interview with POPSUGAR Fashion, the beauty said of her recent success, "Finally the industry is recognizing what many of us have always known: curves are sexy. I hope this sparks more momentum for women to flaunt their curves, whether it's at the pool or while on vacation or as part of a major ad campaign. The world is ready to see more curves in bikinis!" We'll say. In honor of Ashley's success (and her all-around badassness in general), we've rounded up some of her sexiest swimsuit snaps, all courtesy of her personal Instagram. Summer is one of the more challenging seasons for hair. Fine hair frizzes, curls shrink up with the humidity, and long styles transform into a sweaty mess. This season, we turned to Chrissy Teigen's go-to hairstylist and T3 stylist David Lopez to give us his on-set hair hacks. If these tricks can hold up at swimsuit shoots on the beach, then they'll do the job for you, too! Plus, you'll be amazed at the time you'll save on styling with the two-minute updo and five-minute blowout secrets David shares ahead.

This 10-Minute, Apartment-Friendly Workout Is SO Quiet (You're Welcome, Neighbors!)

One of the most difficult things about trying to work out at home when you live in an apartment is finding a way not to annoy your downstairs neighbors. (If you live on a first floor, consider yourself lucky!) Every time I attempt cardio in my third-floor living room, I worry that it sounds like I'm gonna bust through the floor, mostly because every time my upstairs neighbor moves around, it sounds like she's gonna bust through my ceiling. This quick HIIT workout from Maddie Lymburner solves that problem for all of us apartment dwellers.

In just 10 minutes and with no extra equipment, you can get in a great workout while making virtually no noise at all. The no-jumping HIIT workout has a series of intervals, and with it taking so little time, you can fit it into your day pretty easily. Lymburner recommends starting the sweat sesh with a quick warmup and ending with a cooldown as well, and all of it can be done without bothering your neighbors. Check out her YouTube channel for even more apartment-friendly workouts, including full body and abs. You just need a little bit of space to spread out, and you're good to go.

Praise the Pop Gods: Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande's "Rain on Me" Is the Club Anthem of 2021

"Rain on Me", Lady Gaga's collaboration with Ariana Grande, is HERE, and the music video is everything we could dream of! Upbeat, a true club banger (not that anyone should be in clubs right now), and the cleansing anthem we need right now. The music video is giving us very strong sci-fi Step Up vibes, which we are totally into. And that ending where our two pop queens are smiling, happy as hell because they know this collaboration will bring their respective fans to tears? Be right back, we've got to watch it again.

The single is the second drop from Gaga's upcoming album, Chromatica, which is coming on May 29. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple's New Music Daily podcast, Gaga noted that "everything was just firing on all cylinders," when she made Chromatica and that it made her feel so happy because "I thought to myself, wow, even when you feel six feet under, you can still fire on all cylinders." By the sound of this bomb-ass collaboration, she wasn't wrong.

"Thank you for reminding me I'm strong, I'm super emotional and love you so very much, I cherish you @ArianaGrande and little monsters without you I don't know how I would survive," Lady Gaga wrote on Twitter. "I'd rather be dry, but at least I'm alive."

Ariana echoed the sentiment, sharing, "One time ..... i met a woman who knew pain the same way i did... who cried as much as i did, drank as much wine as i did, ate as much pasta as i did and who's heart was bigger than her whole body. she immediately felt like a sister to me."

This Olympic-Swimmer-Approved Dryland Workout Will Strengthen Your Entire Body

As a swimmer, when you can't get in the water to swim your workout, what do you do?

Move to dry land.

Even when pools are open and fully functioning, "dryland" workouts are key for strengthening swimmers' bodies so they can move through the water with more power and efficiency - but they're especially valuable when pool time is not possible.

"I think it's important to work overall body strength in dryland for swimming," says Jason Lezak, a four-time Olympic swimmer, eight-time Olympic medalist, and the GM of Cali Condors.

"Although you do nothing in swimming that resembles a bicep curl, for example, having stronger biceps can help your pull. The strength gained outside the pool needs to be translated to hard work in the pool. I believe that younger swimmers can do many of these exercises and other bodyweight exercises to gain overall strength as well, which will help their swimming."

During times (like during social distancing) when you can't get into the pool, Lezak agrees that dryland paired with cardio training like running, biking, or rowing becomes very important for swimmers.

So, we turned to Lezak for his own go-to dryland workout.

"My dryland workout during the last two months staying at home is very similar to my workout while I was training for my last three Olympics," he says. "Instead of using weights, I have just added a stretch cord for some resistance. You can also see how I did these exercises on a strength video I created while I was training for my last Olympics in 2012."

When doing his dryland set below, Lezak says he likes to "superset" his exercises: "which means group several exercises together and rotate through them."

For example, he will complete three rounds of a series of moves focused on an area of the body (say, arms) without taking rest in-between each move in the series. Then, he will begin the next exercise group.

For the workout below, complete all the exercises under each section three times before moving onto the next section. You'll want to set aside about an hour to complete Lezak's dryland workout.

"To start off, I would recommend doing 10-12 repetitions of each exercise and building up to 15-20," Lezak notes.

Without resting between each move, Lezak says you will be working on "strength, endurance, cardio, and lactate tolerance, which are all beneficial for swimming."

However, remember to listen to your own body, modify, and work in rest as you feel comfortable, as well as consult your doctor before starting a new workout program.

Core Exercises

"A strong core is very important in all swimming strokes. These exercises work all parts of your abs and core for good stability in the water," Lezak explains.

  • Crunches.
  • Seated Twists With or Without a Medicine Ball.
  • Toe Touches.
  • Opposite Arm-to-Leg Toe Touches.
  • Planks.
  • Cable Twists.

Leg Exercises

"Legs for swimming are like a motor on a boat," Lezak notes. "Swimmers need strong legs to get their bodies high in the water. These exercises will build all-around leg strength for kicking, and explosive power you will need for starts and turns as well."

  • Leg extensions: In a seated position, extend feet forward.
  • Leg curls: In a standing position, bring your heels up toward your glutes.
  • Knee-Tuck Jumps.
  • Step Ups: With one foot on bench or step, bring that leg to a standing position, while bringing the other leg up in a running motion.
  • Lunges.
  • Squats.
  • Front-to-Back Fast Feet: On a low box, place one foot forward and the other about two feet behind. Rotate one foot forward and back as fast as possible.
  • Side-to-Side Fast Feet: On a low box, slide side-to-side, tapping box with opposite foot each time.
  • Alternating Feet Front-to-Back Jumps: On a low box, place one foot forward and the other about two feet behind. Jump as high as possible, and land alternating the position of the two feet.

Upper Body Exercises

"It is important to build overall body strength in swimming, which includes many upper body exercises," Lezak says. "You can take the overall strength gains outside the water and translate them to be stronger in the water. There are a couple exercises I do which mimic the butterfly and freestyle pull as well."

  • Push-ups.
  • Tricep Push-ups.
  • Incline Chest Press.
  • Bicep Curls.
  • Tricep Extension.
  • Shoulder Raise.
  • Seated Row.
  • Lat Pulldown.
  • Two Arm Butterfly Pull: Lean forward with arms fully extended shoulder-width apart. With arms at a slight bend, keep your elbows up and pull down to hips.
  • One Arm Freestyle Pull: Lean forward with one arm fully extended shoulder-width apart and the other arm at your side. Rotate the body 45 degrees. As you pull the arm down toward the arm at the side, rotate your hips toward the center and bring the arm back up, mimicking the freestyle stroke.

The Sneaky Reason Disney Animators Gave Ariel the Mermaid Red Hair

Let's play some word association. If you grew up in the '90s or later, when you think "mermaid," you probably think of Ariel. And when you think of Ariel, you probably think red hair. (And when you think about red hair, you probably think about brushing it with a fork.) The Little Mermaid is considered a classic by the last couple of generations, but the titular character's ubiquitous red hair actually has a direct correlation to an older mermaid.

In 1984, Daryl Hannah starred in the live-action film Splash as a mermaid named Madison who falls in love with a human man, alongside Tom Hanks. The movie was a huge success - it was so massively popular, in fact, that the Social Security Administration credits Hannah's character for popularizing Madison as a baby name. Five years after the release of Splash, it was still so well-known that it was on Disney animators' minds when they made The Little Mermaid.

According to Oh My Disney, "The color of Ariel's hair was a point of contention among the team." While they originally wanted Ariel to be a blonde, some thought it was too similar to Hannah's character. Since red is a complementary color to Ariel's green tail, the choice was made. The rest is history!

Watch the Captivating Riverdance "Together Apart" Video That's Bringing Fans to Tears

The Irish dancing show-slash-phenomenon Riverdance has been going strong since the mid-90s, but as with so many other things, its productions have come to a halt during the coronavirus pandemic. The show's performers are scattered around the world from Ireland to Australia to Granada, Spain, but they came together for a virtual collaboration that's leaving YouTube viewers emotional, and we can see why.

Set to a poignant bagpipe rendition of "Caoineadh Cu Chulainn (Lament)" from Riverdance's soundtrack, the video features dancers performing the show's signature jigs, high kicks, and leaps through deserted Dublin streets, in backyards in the US, in front of cliffside castles in Spain, and on rooftops in London. Every dancer brings their own flare, but the most touching part of the video comes from the performers who are also healthcare workers, and who "swapped their dancing shoes for scrubs," according to the video description. We see them dancing the same steps not on stage or at home, but in the halls of hospitals. The video is bookended by poignant poetry excerpts, and it ends with an Irish proverb that resonates now more than ever: "Under the shelter of each other, people survive." Watch the captivating video for yourself above.

At the Height of His Career, Michael Jordan Made Almost as Much as Players Do Today

For anyone watching The Last Dance, the ESPN series documenting the biggest years of Michael Jordan's life and career with the Chicago Bulls (now airing on ABC and soon to be on Netflix), it should come as no surprise that the basketball legend's salary was astronomical. While society has grown accustomed to superstar athletes getting paid millions of dollars per year, Jordan made a lot of money even by those standards. Here's how he became one of the highest-paid players in history.

First Years With the Bulls

Jordan is, of course, best known for winning six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls. The details of his contract during the earliest years of his career are less well-known (he was drafted by the Bulls in 1984), but by the time the 1990s rolled around, he was well on his way to legend status, and his salary reflected that. According to USA Today's "HoopsHype," Jordan's annual salary ranged from around $2.5 million to $4 million between 1990 and 1996. (Note that there's a gap from 1993-1994, when he temporarily stepped away from the game.) His salary broke down as follows, with numbers not adjusted for inflation:

  • 1990-91: $2.5 million
  • 1991-92: $3.25 million
  • 1992-93: $4 million
  • 1994-95: $3.85 million
  • 1995-96: $3.85 million

A Record-Breaking Final Run

In the final years of his career, Jordan made so much money that it exceeded the salary cap, the spending limit an organization must stay under for its entire team's salaries. How did the Bulls manage this? According to an NBC report, they were able to take advantage of loopholes in the rules in order to pay Jordan truly massive salaries in the late '90s. In the 1995-96 season, Jordan made $3.85 million - a hefty amount by any standard. But the terms of his contract meant that he was able to get exponentially more in the years to come.

Jordan became a free agent in 1996 when that contract expired, which meant that the rules on the salary cap didn't apply the same way anymore; at the time, teams were allowed to exceed the salary cap in order to sign or re-sign their own players. As a result, he was able to sign a one-year contract for $30.1 million for the 1996-97 season. They then repeated the process for the 1997-1998 season, when the salary cap was roughly $27 million. Jordan again signed a one-year contract, this time for $33.1 million, which NBC notes was the highest single-season salary in NBA history until the start of the 2017 season, when both LeBron James and Steph Curry made more.

Jordan briefly retired between 1999 and 2001, but he made one more comeback in Sept. 2001, when he announced that he had signed a two-season deal with the Washington Wizards. This time, he said he would donate his salary to 9/11 relief efforts, as reported by the New York Times.

The video ahead showcases these activists and influencers reading letters of support addressed to them from loved ones. You can check out more about them on the Reebok blog. Roselyn Sánchez, Carlos Ponce, and More Latinx Celebs Rally to Support Immigrant Families' Mental Health

More than a dozen of the biggest Latinx stars in Hollywood are teaming up with the Seneca Family of Agencies to connect reunified immigrant families with free and confidential mental health services. The initiative, called "Todo Por Mi Familia," is aimed at families affected by this administration's "zero tolerance" policy, which separated them at the border.

Roselyn Sánchez, Cristián de la Fuente, Carlos Ponce, Chelsea Rendon, Bianca de la Garza, and former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres are just some of the big names lending their voices and starring in bilingual PSAs for the campaign during Mental Health Awareness Month.

In their messages, the celebs explain that Seneca Family of Agencies is a national California-based nonprofit that has been coordinating free mental health services - including counseling - for reunified immigrant parents and children across the country who were affected by family separation. They encourage the viewers to call the confidential and toll-free number 844-529-3327 for more information.

Mental health screenings and treatment for immigrant parents and children separated at the Mexican border became mandatory after a historic ruling last November by Central District of California Judge John A. Kronstadt. He explained that there was evidence that family separations caused "severe mental trauma to parents and their children."

Judge Kronstadt found that the federal government's family separation policy placed thousands of families in danger, and that "the trauma they experienced will cause irreparable injury unless they are provided with immediate care."

Seneca will be connecting reunified families to mental health services at community-based organizations across the country.

HBO's Golden State Killer Doc Is About to Wreak Havoc on Your Psyche For 6 Straight Weeks

The Golden State Killer terrorized California throughout the 1970s and '80s, committing at least 50 sexual assaults and 12 murders. Although she didn't have a badge, the late Michelle McNamara dedicated every moment of her spare time to researching and identifying the serial killer. She wrote about the experience in her book I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer, which was coauthored by several other crime journalists and published posthumously in 2018. The story has inspired a new docuseries, premiering on HBO on June 28.

The true crime book-turned-documentary series, simply called I'll Be Gone in the Dark, will have a total of six parts. Beginning at 10 p.m. on June 28, each part will air on consecutive Sundays in the same time slot. Like most HBO series, it will be available to stream beginning at 7 p.m. on the West Coast.

I'll Be Gone in the Dark gives a look into the initial flawed investigation, McNamara's part in bringing the killer to justice, and how the case impacted her mental state. The story is told through McNamara's own words, using exclusive recordings and excerpts from her book read by actor Amy Ryan. You can also expect new content in the detective story, including interviews with detectives, survivors, and family members of the violent rapist and killer. Although this story unfolds the chilling details and unfathomable crimes of the Golden State Killer, this is also a series about obsession and persistence.
