Look at Her Now! A Journey Through Selena Gomez's Stunning Evolution
Selena Gomez has created such a huge name for herself as a singer, big-screen actress, and style star that it's easy to forget that she got her start on the Disney Channel, playing the lead role of Alex Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place from 2008 to 2012. While Selena's journey has included its fair share of ups and downs, it's worth noting that the 27-year-old actress and singer just experienced a lot of the same things that many women in their 20s go through; friends coming and going, relationships falling apart (and rekindling), doing a little partying, and even getting tattoos. We're taking a look back at Selena's evolution from cute Disney kid to smokin' hot Hollywood star - scroll through to see the memorable moments.

These Squat Variations Might Be Better For Your Knees
Doing squats can be daunting if you tend to experience knee pain in your workout routine - but don't write off the move just yet.
According to fitness expert and ACSM-certified trainer John Ford, the squat motion is worked into everyday life - even outside of exercise.
"The good and the bad of the situation is that even if you have knee pain, the way life works is that you'll always be doing squat motions to get up and down from sitting, which means it's still important to work on the motion."
Of course, if you are experiencing knee pain, you should call up your doctor to prevent further injury - and if you've already been told to avoid the exercise altogether, you should follow that direction.
If squats are safe for you to perform, it might be time to modify the move or really ace your form. Ahead, Ford explains a few variations he generally suggests for clients that have knee pain.
The Assisted Squat
"The assisted squat motion is one of my favorite moves and one that I go back to time and time again," Ford says. "It's really good at developing your upper thigh and glute muscles to control the squat motion as to alleviate pressure on the knees during the squat movement. Additionally, it's a great hip opener, as it allows for you to work on dropping your squat past parallel."
To do an assisted squat, Ford says a client will hold onto the back of a chair, railing, or a banister - the feet will be closer to the railing and the arms will be extended straight with the torso upright. "To start the motion, I have clients start to sit back keeping their torso as straight as possible and shifting their weight into their heels. They proceed with the motion by dropping their hips down and slightly back to ideally form perfect right angles with their knee joints. There should be a good amount of tension in their arms, as we are using the arms to control the range and pace of the motions, as well as the amount of weight loaded into the motion."
Squatting With an Eccentric Focus on the Movement
After the assisted squat, Ford works with clients on focusing on the eccentric portion of the squat, or the downward motion.
"You start the motion by shifting weight onto your heels and shifting your weight slightly backward as you begin to bend your knees in the squat. This will prevent you from shifting your body weight forward and into the knees. You then focus on dropping your hips lower as your knees bend. Ideally, we don't want to see a noticeable shift forward of the knees past the ankle during the motion. You then stand back up by pushing through your heels, firing your glutes, and then quadriceps to bring you back to upright standing position."
Single Leg Squat
This is the most advanced variation, so beginners shouldn't attempt it. But once you've worked up to doing a single-leg squat, Ford says "it is a really beneficial at-home leg strengthener and hip opener."
First step - you put your back foot up on a chair, stair, or stool. Then, move the front leg forward about 2-2.5 feet from that chair, stair, or stool. "You want to have enough space to allow yourself to drop down into a right angle in the front knee while maintaining an almost fully upright torso. Your back leg in this motion will ideally fold back, meaning your glute will move towards your heel as if you were doing a quad stretch of the back leg," Ford says.
To start the motion back up again, Ford says to focus on pushing through the heel or back part of the foot. "This emphasis will help alleviate forward loading and pressure on the knee."

Did You Know Adam Sandler's Kids Have Appeared in Several of His Movies?
Saturday Night Live vet and Uncut Gems star Adam Sandler and his actress wife Jackie Sandler are all about the movies. The two met on set for his film Baby Daddy and since then, Jackie's continued to have roles in many of Adam's films. Better yet, Adam and Jackie's daughters, Sadie and Sunny, are in the business too and often have their own parts in Adam's films. Adam and Jackie's daughters are just as talented as their famous parents and look right at home on the big screen. For more on the Sandlers' daughters, keep reading.
Sadie Sandler
Sadie Sandler was born May 6, 2006. She is Adam and Jackie's oldest daughter. Adam and Jackie had Sadie in Los Angeles three years after they got married, and Adam has said that becoming a dad changed his life. He told Access soon after Sadie was born that he was terrified while Jackie was in labor but that he was so excited. "I had a chemical reaction in my body, where I loved the kid so much, and I was so nervous for her, and that's when I lost my mind for the kid." He also said that he goes all out for his children, including dressing up to tell them bedtime stories, according to the Irish Examiner.
Sunny Sandler
Sunny Sandler was born Nov. 2, 2008. She is Adam and Jackie's youngest daughter. Sunny was also born in Los Angeles, where Adam and Jackie have called home for years. Sunny, along with her older sister, Sadie, can often be found in Adam's movies (as can Jackie!). They've had parts in several of his films, including those that his production company, Happy Madison, produces that he's not necessarily in. They were both most recently in The Wrong Missy on Netflix alongside their mom. But even though Adam keeps putting his daughters in his movies, he still keeps them away from any of his grittier roles, namely his turn in Uncut Gems. He told Closer Weekly, "I'm nervous about when they're old enough to see this that they're going to be disappointed in my behavior."

Chris Evans Just Launched a Political Website to Help Us Become Better Informed Voters
Chris Evans just announced his latest project, and it isn't an acting gig. The Avengers star launched his new civil engagement website, A Starting Point, on July 14 to help Americans learn about political issues and policies in the form of short, digestible videos. Chris worked on the site for two years, along with the site's cofounders, actor and filmmaker Mark Kassen and technology entrepreneur Joe Kiani.
In a Twitter video introducing the platform, Chris said he hopes the unbiased content will create "a little more connectivity between elected officials and their constituents" and "demystify some issues that [he] thinks some people may find daunting." The goal is for voters to understand the political issues that matter to them, and to make sure their voices are heard in the upcoming election and those to follow. Keep reading to find out what A Starting Point is exactly and how you can use it to help inform your political decisions.
Today’s the day!!!! After two years of work I’m SO excited to finally launch ASP! 😬🤮
- Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) July 14, 2020
Our panel w @FastCompany goes up in a couple hours. Hopefully we answer any questions you might have! @MarkKassen @JoeKiani @MiaCharity @ASP #AStartingPoint pic.twitter.com/NFnPFC5UgI
What Is A Starting Point?
A Starting Point provides answers to questions regarding political issues from elected officials themselves. For every question you might have, the site presents answers from multiple elected officials - both from Democratic and Republican parties - in order to give you a wholistic view of the issue at hand.
The idea was born out of Chris's frustration after trying to Google an issue he didn't understand while watching the news. When the actor went to search his question, he was inundated with a "mountain of information," which he explained in the site's "Welcome" video. He thought, "What if there was a way that I could get not only concise answers to common questions, but get the answers from the elected officials themselves?"
How Does It Work?
The website is divided into three sections. The first section, A Starting Point, features short answers to commonly asked questions, which are categorized into larger buckets like economy, education, and health. For every question, there are responses from three Democratic and Republican officials, and each contributor can attach links for you to learn more about the issue. The second section, Daily Points, is an open forum where elected officials can post 60-second videos on any topic of their choosing. These representatives can use this space to speak on issues specific to their districts. Lastly, Counterpoints spotlights discussions surrounding specific questions between two members from opposing parties. These videos from elected officials are also 60 seconds and address relevant issues that they'd like to explore. The idea was that instead of packing various issues into one large debate, representatives can tackle questions on an individual, focused level.
How Can It Help Us?
A Starting Point provides the resources for Americans to make informed voting decisions, and ultimately, help us build a government that reflects what we personally believe in. People who might be intimidated by the flood of news or are simply interested in becoming more engaged in politics can navigate the site to stay informed ahead of the 2020 election.
"Given everything that's going on in the world, more engagement in politics is always a good thing," Chris said in an interview with People. "It will only help government work better for us, and better represent who we really are."
Here's How Tattoo Appointments Might Change Amid Coronavirus
In an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus, tattoo shops across the U.S. shut their doors in late March. Now, as all 50 states continue through phased reopening plans, tattoo shops (and other businesses within the personal services industry - nail and hair salons, spas, etc.) are restructuring, amplifying their disinfecting procedures, and working out the logistics of social distancing in professions where physical touch is inevitable.
Some states lifted restrictions on personal care services early (perhaps because spaces are typically more controlled than, say, shopping malls), while others have kept them shuttered until a more advanced reopening phase (potentially due to the lack of social distancing). But no matter when tattoo shops received the green light in each state, they had a strict set of new safety requirements to follow.
For a better idea of what your next tattoo appointment might look like, we tapped Avery Osajima of Lilith Tattoo, an all-queer studio in Seattle, WA. Having recently reopened, see how her shop prepared for and navigated this new version of "normal" ahead.
This LED Lightbulb Helps Repel Mosquitos, So I'll Take 30
I know that summer is here when those first few mosquito bites show up on my legs. There are some people who don't get bitten by mosquitoes, and I am so envious of them. I get practically eaten alive in the summer, which means no fragranced body lotion, no perfume, and even no ripped jeans (yes, really, that's happened). That's why I am kind of obsessed with this Gloue Bug Zapper Lightbulb ($16).
I have some outdoor space, and being able to put these on my back porch will be a game changer for me. Instead of being completely covered from head to toe, I'll be able to comfortably wear sandals and shorts at night, something I wasn't able to do without risking being bitten like crazy. The best part is, it can be used as both a bug zapper and a regular lightbulb, so you don't have to keep changing it. If you're like me, you need this genius device.
So, Millie Bobby Brown Is Really Just Out Here Pulling Off These Smooth Dance Moves, Huh?
Image Source: Getty / Neil Mockford
Millie Bobby Brown has made a name for herself on screen as Eleven in Stranger Things and in the beauty world with her Florence by Mills skincare and makeup collection, and her latest Instagram post has us crossing our fingers that her next project is a music video (preferably with Queen Bey herself). In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Millie shared a video of herself doing a choreography routine set to Beyoncé's "Love on Top" - in four-inch heels, no less. Millie also showed off some impressive lip-syncing skills, however, it's her one-legged spin at the end that has us ready to join her on the dance floor. Check out Millie's full dance routine below.
This Stylish Face Mask Is Comfy, Protective, and Has a Slot For Filters
Every time we leave the house we're wearing a face mask, and having a comfortable option on hand is important. There are plenty of styles to choose from, ranging from picks with ties or ear loops to even face shields. While the CDC doesn't recommend wearing scarfs, we found an alternative choice that is cute and comfy. The Mali + Lili Four Layer Mask Scarf ($40) has a more scarf-life style to it that makes is easy to wear, but it actually acts just like a protective face mask.
The mask is made with three liner layers and the last layer is actually a built in pocket for filters. It's made with 100 percent cotton, making it a breathable choice. The style looks more like a scarf, because you simply just tie it one time behind your head, but the design also offers elastic ear loops inside for extra security. Our favorite feature is the size of it, it comfortably fits from below your eyes and wraps all the way under your chin. Plus, it comes in four cute prints you won't tire of wearing. Keep reading to shop them all.
This 4-Move Circuit Helps Burn Calories and Build Muscle, Using Just a Set of Dumbbells
You don't need to spend hours working out to lose weight or get toned, but you do have to be smart about what you're doing in the time you have in order to maximize results. Enter compound exercises: multijoint movements that hit large groups of muscle. When you add weights to these exercises, you'll use even more energy, burning more calories while increasing muscle mass.
Get started with some beginner compound exercises and then challenge yourself to this circuit from Heidi Loiacono, an NASM-certified personal trainer and national manager of training and development at GymGuyz. To increase your metabolic output (one of the biggest perks of compound exercises), complete this circuit four times using a 5- to 10-lb. set of dumbbells. Do 10 reps of each exercise, then rest for 30 seconds at the end of the circuit before moving on to the next round.
