Robert Pattinson Broods Over Gotham City in a Highly-Anticipated First Look at The Batman
Are you ready to meet your new Dark Knight? On Aug. 22, DC released a first look at The Batman starring Robert Pattinson as the titular character and Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman. This glimpse comes after producer Walter Hamada confirmed that the film will not take place in the same time period as Zack Synder's Justice League where Ben Affleck wears the black cape alongside Jason Momoa's Aquaman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, and Henry Cavill's Superman.
The trailer shows Pattinson suited up to take on corruption and crime in Gotham City. We still have plenty of questions left unanswered, but we're eager to see what else unfolds before the movie hopefully debuts in 2021 (production was halted due to COVID-19). Watch the first look above, and learn more about the cast of The Batman here.
I Need Everyone to Take a Moment to Appreciate These 16 Pictures of Jonathan Majors
It's clear that Twitter has been thirsting over Lovecraft Country's Jonathan Majors, and who can blame them? As Atticus Black, he's loyal to his family and out to unravel the mystery that has befallen them. In real life, Jonathan has a smile that lights up a room and has foregone social media in favor of, what he calls, "the lifestyle of a 70-year-old."
While it may be unfortunate that the 30-year-old actor doesn't have an Instagram you can easily peruse, you can still catch him in episodes of HBO's Lovecraft Country on Sundays. Or, as I've done, you can bombard your friends with pictures of him in the hopes of getting them on the Jonathan bandwagon. He's an amazing actor, and the more I see of him, the higher he ranks on my favorite-actors list. There's just a magnetism about him, and it's evident in everything he's done, from When We Rise and White Boy Rick to The Last Black Man in San Francisco. Ahead are just a few photos of him in and out of character that have truly caused me to swoon.
The Poem Grace References in Chemical Hearts Is Not Only Beautiful but Also Incredibly Deep
Based on Krystal Sutherland's novel Our Chemical Hearts, Amazon Prime's romantic drama Chemical Hearts tells the heart-rending story of high school student Grace (Lili Reinhart), who suffers a traumatic loss, and 17-year-old hopeless romantic Henry (Austin Abrams), who helps her heal from it. When Grace and Henry first meet, he catches her highlighting lines in a book, which happens to be Pablo Neruda's 100 Love Sonnets. The lines she highlights read:
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
In the poem, Neruda describes the intense love he feels and how it surpasses any previous definition of what he thought it was, something Grace knows all too well. Throughout the film, Grace often references this poem, and she even ends up lending Henry a copy of her book. While the sonnet was originally written in Spanish, it has since been translated to English, so the wording has varied over time, however, its essence remains the same. Read the full sonnet below.
"Love Sonnet: XVII" by Pablo Neruda
I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way than this:where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

How Quarantine Inspired Maluma to Return to His Reggaeton Roots For His Surprise Album
This interview has been edited for length and clarity.
In a move few saw coming, Maluma pulled a page out of Beyoncé's playbook and dropped a surprise album in the wee hours of Friday morning. Titled Papi Juancho, the 22-track project marks the 26-year-old Latin superstar's fifth studio album and brings back the old reggaeton sound that first made me fall in love with him, a departure from the more pop-style music we last heard on 11:11. Produced by The Rude Boyz (who have worked with Maluma since his first album), Papi Juancho is a tribute to his native Colombia and features a handful of collaborations with some of Maluma's idols, including Justin Quiles, Lenny Tavárez, Myke Towers, Yandel, and Zion.
"This album is very special, it represents my essence, what I grew up with, the music I enjoy with my friends and my personal taste in reggaeton music," Maluma said in a statement. "I want to show my culture and I want people to see where I am from, I'm from Medallo City."
The release of Papi Juancho marks a significant milestone in Maluma's career, as it's officially been 10 years since he first began recording music. And with songs like "ADMV" (my personal favorite) and "Hawái," it's also his most grown-up album to date. In fact, even his signature "Maluma, baby!" line has been replaced with "Papi Juancho." Ahead of its release, I got to chat with Maluma about everything from how Papi Juancho came to be and the message he hopes to send fans with this album. Check out our conversation ahead.

POPSUGAR: Congrats on your new album, Papi Juancho. I'm a huge fan, and I'm so excited we finally have some new music from you.
Maluma: Thank you very much, appreciate it. I'm very excited, we're all very excited about it.
PS: Can you tell me about the meaning behind the album's name? I know Papi Juancho is one of your nicknames and alter egos, but so is Maluma, since your real name is Juan Luis Londoño. What makes Papi Juancho different from Maluma?
M: It's a new vibe that I got when quarantine started. I'm a fan of vintage things, I'm a fan of Miami Vice, and I always wanted to do an album with these colors, these vibes. I would say that all those things last forever - they are timeless.
That's why I always wanted to do this alter ego named Papi Juancho. My family, they all call me Juancho. I'm always saying, "Papi," so one day when I was looking for a caption for the first campaign I did with Calvin Klein, I was like, "Wow, I need a nice caption that can work with these photos." Then I started talking with the team and they were like, "Your name is Juancho and you love saying papi, so why don't you mix both of [those] things?" Everything started with these [Calvin Klein] photos, everybody started talking about Papi Juancho, and that's what started the whole concept of the album.

PS: I also feel like we're seeing a more mature side of you on this album, would you agree?
M: Yeah, I would say that this new album is a mix of all the Malumas that I have created over the years - a grown man. I'm not a kid anymore. I'm 26 years old, I'm not 18 anymore. It's already been a decade since I first started. It's mature, but also a very trendy album.
PS: Looking back to when you first got started in music, how would you say you've evolved as an artist?
M: I would say experience. Experience is everything to me. I don't have the same voice I did when I first went into the vocal booth in the studio. Also the way I dress, the way I think, I've been growing. Not only in my career, but also my personal life, and I always try to attach that to my music. When I'm growing in my personal life, I like to make songs that go with my mind and the way I think.
PS: You recently deactivated your Instagram account so you could drop the album as a surprise to fans. Why was it important to you to release it this way?
M: I like surprises and I think this was a nice way to do it. [The fans] think that I'm mad, they think that I don't want to be part of the industry anymore. I've been reading the tweets, and they've been saying so many things. I feel like this is going to be one of the best surprises that we're going to have this year. It's been a tough year, and every time we turn on the TV, they're talking about negative things. This is going to send a lot of positive energy to my fans.
PS: For this album, you focused more on bringing back your reggaeton sound, and less of the pop sound we last heard on your 11:11 album. What inspired you to make that change?
"Dreams come true, if you work hard, you're patient, and disciplined. If I can make it, they can make it, too."
M: When the quarantine started, I was in Europe, I was in Greece. I had to stop the tour, I had to postpone everything, and I flew back to Colombia. I started spending a lot of time in Colombia, which I never do because I'm always working, I'm always flying, I'm always on tour. I felt connected again with this dreamer that had started this crazy dream of becoming a star, becoming an artist. I felt that energy from 10 years ago when I started my career. I was so in love with the roots and all the music that I used to do and all the music that I used to listen to that I decided to make this album more urban, more reggaeton. I tried to bring all the sounds from when I first started my career and do it like 2.0.
PS: What's your favorite song on the album?
M: That's a tough one. I love the whole album. I don't have a favorite song, I love them all.
PS: What message do you hope to send to your fans with this album?
M: That dreams come true, if you work hard, you're patient, and disciplined. If I can make it, they can make it, too.

Tom Ellis Is So Devilishly Handsome, It Would Be a Sin Not to Check Out These 52 Photos
I know that we all watch Lucifer for the plot, but let's be real, the gorgeous cast definitely plays a part in it. If leading man Tom Ellis wasn't able to pull off the Devil's charm with such aplomb, we wouldn't be able to buy into the show, right? Thankfully, Tom not only perfects that certain je ne sais quoi only Lucifer Morningstar could possess, but he also humanizes the fictional angel, making him relatable and endearing in a way that real-life "bad boys" could never.
In celebration of Netflix dropping the first half of Lucifer's fifth season - in which we got a double helping of Tom thanks to him bringing Lucifer's twin brother Micheal on the scene - let's appreciate the glory that is our wicked star by perusing some of his best pictures! He's basically like a gift from above. (Oops, is it too soon for those jokes, Chloe fans?)

We Think We Know When Starbucks's PSLs Will Be Back in Stores
Despite the fact that we low-key wish Starbucks would sell Pumpkin Spice Lattes year round, the coffee chain only brings them out during fall to really amp up the seasonality of this time of year. It may only be August now, but it feels like time to bring back the PSL, don't you think? Alas, it's not quite time yet, and while we don't have an exact answer quite yet as to when the PSLs will be back in our hands, we have some theories.
According to Food and Wine, a now-deleted Instagram photo from a Starbucks store in California revealed that PSLs will be back Aug. 28. We reached out to Starbucks knowing the brand wouldn't share any details until it's good and ready, and we were correct. "We're not ready to (pumpkin) spice things up just yet and are still enjoying our favorite Starbucks summer drinks!" we were told.
However, we can take a look at the last few years for some trends in the dates to get an idea. Last year, the release date of Tuesday, Aug. 27 was "leaked" early and turned out to be correct. In 2018, PSLs returned on Tuesday, Aug. 28. In 2017, it was Friday, Sept. 1, and in 2016 it was Tuesday, Sept. 6. Starbucks seems to go with a Tuesday or a Friday for the release date. Each of the past four years were one or the other, and lo and behold, Aug. 28 this year is a Friday.
The release date seems to move earlier and earlier every year: probably so Starbucks can capitalize on the popularity of the seasonal drink. Clearly customers have no problems sipping on this fall favorite during the summer, so might as well roll it out in August so we can all enjoy it. In the meantime, though, you can always make your own PSL at home!

Massage Away Your Muscle Knot Pain With This Physical Therapist’s Tips
It's almost second-nature for me to grab or tug at the nagging muscle knot that lives on my upper back - but shifting my impulse to more of a massaging movement could have a better outcome.
While Leada Malek, PT, DPT, CSCS, SCS, says that everyone responds to trigger point (another name for a muscle knot) treatment differently, soft tissue massage can be helpful in providing short-term relief in pain and tenderness. In fact, Malek often teaches her patients how to utilize self-massage.
First, Malek suggests gently feeling around the tense muscle for areas that have either a small bump or a twitch when you hit it. "Once you locate the knot, you can experiment by pressing directly on it and holding for anywhere from 5-60 seconds, moving in a circular motion with your fingers or a tool," Malek says. "If you know the anatomy of the muscle you're working on, you can try moving along the fiber - think 'elongating' a tense muscle."
In terms of pressure applied, you definitely don't want to overdo it. Malek says you can vary it from light to harder, but to remember that, during this process, you're "basically communicating with the nervous system."
"It should feel 'good' and helpful, not irritating or inflammatory. If you go too hard, your body may fight back on you and the whole process may be counterintuitive," Malek says.
Start lighter to find your ideal pressure and then work your way up. "Rubbing gently can be very soothing by way of stimulating certain receptors in the tissue."
To begin and to see how your body responds to this treatment method, massage for up to a minute, Malek suggests. "At most, I have people work on areas for up to five or six minutes, and up to three times a day, so long as they are not feeling more pain or any other symptoms like numbness or tingling around the area or down the extremity."
If you are experiencing a very painful knot, Malek does not recommend going past that time interval, and it's never a bad idea to consult with your doctor for advice. "You should think of treating the knot as TLC to your body, not beating it up to make it go away," Malek says.
To massage the area, Malek says you can use anything from your hands, elbow, your palm, a tennis ball, or a lacrosse ball for a firmer option. "I personally like the massage balls as affordable options. They are built well and sometimes have ridges to vary the pressure points. Some are shaped like peanuts that can feel nice to roll up and down your back while leaning against a wall!" Malek adds.

The "Walls" singer and his British influencer girlfriend took a break from 2015 to early 2017 (which is when he had his son) but found their way back to each other after his mom - who was very close with Eleanor - passed away. Since then, these two have been inseparable and are too damn cute together. Ahead, we put together a comprehensive though nonexhaustive timeline of their relationship with all of the key points you might have missed if you haven't been a Louis fan since the beginning like some of us (it's me, I'm us). Enjoy!
BTS's First English-Language Single "Dynamite" Is Just What I Need to Get Through 2020
In case you need me, my forwarding address is the burger and donut restaurant in BTS's "Dynamite" music video. BTS's first English-language single does not disappoint, and the video is almost too beautiful for words.
From Jungkook's bedroom and RM's record store to J-Hope's cafe and the disco that I don't think I own fancy enough clothes for, the aesthetic is meticulous. It's a pastel-colored vintage daydream, and every outfit the boys wear is a bonafide look. The song itself is full of pop-culture references like King Kong, Rolling Stone, and LeBron James. There's even a nod to the classic boyband video style with a rotating shot of the group - you'll know it when you see it. You can watch all of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook's crisp and clean dance moves in the video above and see why "Dynamite" became the most-viewed video ever in its first 24 hours on YouTube.
People on TikTok Are Making These 3-Ingredient Avocado Chips, and We're Ready to Join Them
While you can certainly never go wrong with some guacamole and chips, if you're looking for a new way to snack on your avocados, these easy-to-make crispy avocado chips look absolutely delicious. We recently discovered @ketokraze's three-ingredient recipe on TikTok, where many people are following suit and making their own.
The keto-friendly recipe only requires half an avocado, shredded cheese, and parmesan, and the results are just *chef's kiss*. Here's how people are whipping up these chips:
- Mash up half an avocado in a bowl.
- Stir in 1/2 cup of shredded cheese and 1/2 cup parmesan.
- Season however you'd like. Some TikTokers have recommended using Trader Joes's Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning or Everything but the Elote Seasoning, but salt and pepper works, too.
- Scoop the mixture onto a baking sheet like you would with cookie dough.
- Bake for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Serve with salsa, ranch, or any other sauce of your choice.
As someone who is admittedly a lazy cook with little patience, the uncomplicated recipe is definitely calling my name. And since TikTokers have described the recipe as "super easy" and the outcome as "sooo delicious," that's enough for me to give these chip alternatives a shot. See the tasty creations ahead.

Sadie Stanley on the Life Advice She Got While Filming Kim Possible and Her New Netflix Film
In our Q&A series Last Call, we get down to the bottom of every last thing with some of our favorite celebs - from the last thing they texted to the last thing they binge-watched. This week, actress Sadie Stanley takes our call.
Sadie Stanley made her acting debut as the iconic crime-fighting, world-saving Kim Possible. Now, she's tackling her next role in Netflix's family adventure-comedy, The Sleepover. Read on to hear more from Sadie about her last day on set, the last piece of advice that changed her life, and more!
PS: What's the last thing you watched on Netflix?
Just started When They See Us. Absolutely stunning and intensely heartbreaking. It's been on my list for a while, as I continue to educate myself about systemic racism and the deep-rooted oppression of Black people and minorities in America. Highly recommend.
PS: What's the last thing you ordered online?
A massive cat tree tower for my two cats. It's as tall as me and I put it together myself. They love it so much and are always napping and playing on it.
PS: What's the last photo on your camera roll?
A picture of an acrylic painting I'm working on. Doesn't look like much now but it's going to be (hopefully) an abstract(ish?) portrait of Mac Miller. I've been getting back into painting since quarantine and it's been really fun and therapeutic for me.
PS: What was the last thing you texted?
I was texting my manager about an independent movie script I had just received and was really excited to read.
PS: What's the last thing you do before going to bed?
Not very interesting but definitely put on chapstick, can't go to sleep without it.
PS: What was your last day on set of The Sleepover like?
The last day on set of The Sleepover is a very memorable one for me. We were filming on a bridge in the middle of the night and it was freezing! Cree [Cicchino] and I were wearing shorts and t-shirts and Malin [Akerman] was in a short dress so we were huddling by the heaters in between takes! We filmed a little dance montage of the family celebrating something (don't want to give anything away). It was a really special moment because the entire main cast was together and having such a good time. I was really bummed that it was over.

PS: What was the last gift you received?
One of my closest friends Ciara has recently started designing and making clothes over quarantine. She made me this gorgeous emerald green corset top with insane stitching and patchwork and it is the coolest piece of clothing I own. I wore it for some press I was doing for The Sleepover, and I felt so beautiful in it.
PS: What's the last thing you took home from a set?
I always find myself accidentally stealing socks from set. That's definitely a boring answer but, yeah, I always forgot to change out of them. I also was given a very special crown worn in The Sleepover that we used in a game we played for press, and I get to keep that, so that's pretty cool.
PS: What was the last song you sang in the shower?
So many. I never shower without my speaker on full blast. Probably some Adele. Definitely "Best Part" by Daniel Ceasar feat. H.E.R. Throw a little musical theatre in there and you get the picture.
PS: What's the last piece of advice you received that changed your life?
The first thing that comes to mind is a letter from Adam Stein I received on the last day of shooting my first project, Kim Possible. I have held on to that letter since that day and I read it any time I need to remind myself how far I've come. One of the many gems of advice in the letter is to use my not-so-great experiences in life as fuel for my artistic endeavors and to never stop believing in myself.
PS: What's the last book you read?
I Am Still Alive by Kate Alice Marshall. SO GOOD. Highly recommend.
PS: What's the last album you listened to?
Dominic Fike just released an album called What Could Possibly Go Wrong. Listened to it all the way through and loved it. He's one of my favorite artists right now. Now I need to go listen to an album that just came out called Give Me a Minute by Lizzy McAlpine - another favorite artist of mine! Really excited about it.
PS: What was your last workout?
I'm gonna be honest, my workout routine was pretty damn good before quarantine started and it's all gone downhill from there. I think my last "workout" was either playing some basketball with my roommates or just doing some easy yoga and stretching in my living room. I've decided to be kind to myself and cut myself some slack, and I encourage everyone to do the same if they aren't feeling themselves very productive or motivated during this time. Do your best to make time for things that make you feel good, whatever that may be.
PS: What was your last audition like?
Literally just got off a producers session over Zoom, which was very interesting. It was a little weird at first to read a scene with someone on a screen, but I think it went pretty well!
