This Throwback Clip of Harry Styles Saying "Oh Sh*t" Is My New ASMR
The internet somehow knew I needed a pick-me-up this week, so it worked a little magic and resurfaced a short but oh-so-sweet video of Harry Styles saying, "Oh sh*t." It's not just any ol' "oh sh*t," though, and most certainly not the kind you exclaim under your breath after stubbing your toe or running into an ex in public. It was uttered with a certain innocent, dad-like energy that has me, and will likely have you, slamming the "play" button repeatedly to witness it on a loop.
First shared last year and now making the rounds again, the clip captures Harry interacting with a fan on the streets of Hollywood after scooping up some groceries. Said fan, who goes by Kid the Wiz on social media, delivers a dramatic to-camera intro of the "Adore You" singer and proceeds to flip his hat, making it do a 360 and land back on his head. In response, Harry lets out his effortless "oh sh*t" and a laugh before giving him a handshake. The video may only be eight seconds long, but there are so many details that need to be unpacked, so naturally, I've chosen to dissect it moment by moment in a bulleted list that literally no one asked for.
- First and foremost, I must acknowledge Harry's outfit. It's giving me serious eighth-grade science teacher vibes, and I'm honestly not opposed. The pleated khaki pants! The leather, tassel-adorned loafers! The sunglasses pushing back the hair! The half-zipped jacket! I'm very here for this casual grocery shopping lewk.
- I must urgently know what Harry purchased at the store. He appears to be toting two full bags, but it's damn near impossible to tell what's hiding inside. Perhaps some strawberries to enjoy on a summer evenin'?
- Please kindly direct your attention to Harry's right thumb, which remains awkwardly raised throughout the video. Legend has it his thumb hasn't been put down to this day.
- I love that little glimpse at his black nail polish as he goes in for the handshake. I wonder if he's more of an Essie or OPI guy.
- He's channeling the same energy I possess while pretending to be impressed by any child's "cool trick" they want to show me. But honestly, I love him for that - he's so darn sweet.
- Now that I've watched this video upwards of 67 times, I just might have to get "'Oh sh*t' - Harry Styles, 2019" engraved on my tombstone.
- It's truly only a matter of time before the "oh sh*t"-themed fan merch starts popping up on Etsy. I'd totally buy a candle with the phrase plastered on the label.
I'll be filing this one under "videos to revisit when I need to be reminded that not all men are trash," right alongside Harry's "Watermelon Sugar" music video. Now, please excuse me while I play this audio on a loop as my personal form of ASMR.
Netflix's American Murder: How Accurate Was Chris Watts's CBI Polygraph Test?
Netflix's newest true crime documentary, American Murder: The Family Next Door, takes an in-depth look at the Chris Watts case and the chilling moments that led up to him murdering his entire family. In 2018, Chris's wife Shannan Watts and their two daughters - 4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste - went missing in Frederick, CO. Told entirely through archival footage, the documentary - which will premiere on Sept. 30 - takes a close look at the subsequent investigation with Chris as the primary suspect.
Once Shannan and the children had been missing for several days, Watts was taken in for questioning by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). During the examination, Chris was given a polygraph test - or lie detector test - to help determine his level of involvement in the case. Chris denied any claims that he had anything to do with's Shannan death or the deaths of their children and insisted he had no knowledge about where they were. In a 2018 Lifetime documentary titled Chris Watts: Confessions of a Killer, CBI agent Tammy Lee, who issued Watts's polygraph test, explained that he was being wildly untruthful during the examination, as proven by his polygraph score. "The type of testing format that I used, we would consider someone to be deceptive if they were a negative four or below," Lee said. "Chris Watts scored negative 18."
Despite failing the test, Chris insisted that he had been truthful, leading some to question the reliability of lie detector tests. In the past, crime investigations have often relied on polygraph exams to rule out any suspects and move the case forward. But over the years, officials have debated the validity of polygraph tests on the basis that, "there is no evidence that any pattern of physiological reactions is unique to deception," according to a report published by the American Psychological Association in 2004.
Polygraph tests examine heart rate or blood pressure, respiration, and skin conductivity, all of which may indicate someone is being truthful but don't give definitive evidence that someone is lying or to what extent. So, while it is often believed that polygraph tests can tell when someone is lying, in reality, they only suggest that someone might be lying.
Chris Watts's polygraph score aside, the investigation provided enough additional information to eventually result in his arrest. Watts was eventually sentenced to serve five life sentences without the possibility of parole on Nov. 19, 2018. To find out more about the investigation, you can watch the full American Murder documentary when it hits Netflix on Sept. 30.

Think Enola Holmes's Louis Partridge Is Adorable? Check Out These Facts About Him
As the charming Lord Tewksbury in Enola Holmes, Louis Partridge is sure to steal your heart quicker than you can say "the game is afoot!" Although you may have seen him before (he's appeared in Paddington 2 and Medici), his role in Netflix's Enola Holmes proves he's certainly one to watch - especially given his ability to hold his own with costar Millie Bobby Brown. The 17-year-old British actor - who is still in school in the UK - plans to continue acting once he graduates, which is excellent news for us. He currently has a few projects in the pipeline, including 2021's The Lost Girls, which is a darker take on Peter Pan and follows an older Wendy. Until then, get to know all about the talented actor.

Kraft Just Made Pumpkin Spice Mac and Cheese a Thing - Why Mess With Perfection?
In very polarizing food news, Kraft recently announced a new Pumpkin Spice Macaroni & Cheese, so let that marinate for a second. While I do occasionally enjoy sipping on a PSL or basking in the scent of a pumpkin spice candle, I have to admit the craze might have gone a little too far on this one. Like many other products that have gotten the seasonal twist - we're looking at you, pumpkin spice cheese - the original is almost always better. So why mess with perfection?
Kraft describes the latest flavor as "the same cheesy Mac & Cheese Americans know and love" but with added fall flavors like "hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and ginger." Though the cheesy, cinnamon-y mix might not be my cup of tea, over 50 percent of voters said they'd give a shot, so who am I to judge? Pumpkin spice connoisseurs might love the savory-sweet combo after all.
While the limited-edition mac and cheese already launched in Canada earlier this week and acquired a waitlist of more than 30,000 people, it's coming to the US very soon - but only for a handful of *ahem* lucky people for now. Starting today and through Sept. 29, you can enter for a chance to win a box of Kraft Pumpkin Spice Macaroni & Cheese by tweeting with the hashtags #PumpkinSpiceKMC #Sweepstakes and tagging @KraftMacNCheese on Twitter. Get a closer look at the mac and cheese above, and if you're entering in the sweepstakes, I sincerely wish you the best of luck.
Former USWNT Coach Jill Ellis On World Cup Drama and Future Coaching Jobs
When Jill Ellis retired from coaching the US Women's National Soccer team last October, it may have come as a surprise to some. Who could possibly hang up the clipboard mere months after leading a team to their second consecutive World Cup victory? But according to Ellis, she knew as early as Dec. 2018, six months before the World Cup kickoff, that she was ready to move on. "National team jobs are not jobs that people take for 10, 12 years," Ellis told POPSUGAR. "It was like, 'You know what? I've done two World Cups. I've done three Olympics [as head coach, assistant coach, and program development director]. Amazing experiences, all of them. Now I'm ready to look at a different situation."
Currently, Ellis is serving in an ambassador role for US Soccer. She's doing speaking engagements and raising money for causes like a scholarship program that benefits female soccer coaches, while pushing to grow women's soccer across the world. And she was just featured in episode two of The Playbook, a Netflix docu-series that delves into the minds of iconic coaches from all over the world. The episode saw her reliving some of the highs and lows of her coaching career, including the aforementioned 2019 Women's World Cup, which saw the USWNT embroiled in high drama on the field and off. So what was it like behind the scenes as Ellis led her team through those unprecedented situations? And can we expect see her on the sideline sometime in the future? We spoke to Ellis to find out.
Jill Ellis on Equal Pay and Political Drama at the World Cup
The USWNT entered the World Cup having already begun their fight for equal pay, alleging that US Soccer had discriminated against them on the basis of gender. As head coach, Ellis wasn't directly a part of the lawsuit and said she didn't address it with players, but did support them publicly. "Anytime a woman can stand up and advocate for themselves, I think that that is a win," she said. "To have a voice and to use a platform and to be brave, I think is great. I have a 15-year-old daughter. I want her to be able to have that."
By the same token, Ellis refused to muzzle her players when they spoke about issues off the field. That decision came into play when, three days before the USWNT's huge semifinal against France, a video dropped showing Megan Rapinoe stating, in no uncertain terms, that she would not be visiting the president if the team won the tournament. (The direct quote: "I'm not going to the f*cking White House.")
Ellis typically stays away from the news cycle during competitions, but a press officer showed her the video when it started going viral. "I smiled," she remembered. "I was like, 'OK, yeah, that's good to know!'" In the car on the way to a press conference afterwards, Ellis said Rapinoe took the initiative. "She said, 'Hey, I'm going to say a few words at the beginning,'" Ellis remembered. "She wanted to address it because she recognized that this is going to be an ongoing narrative, and we as a team were not going to have anything distract from what the goal was."
Those "athletes should stick to sports" arguments? Ellis has a different take. If anything, she said, the extenuating circumstances and the players' outspokenness served to galvanize the team in their historic run for a World Cup. "The more comfortable people can be in who they are, the easier they feel committed to the whole and to the group," she said. "Players have opinions and voices and a platform. That's a natural part of it when you're a world-class team. I don't think it's something that you ever want people to shy away from."
Will Jill Ellis Coach Again?
Ellis retired in Oct. 2019, three months after her World Cup victory. Fast-forward to August 2020, and Ellis's name has already been in the conversation for two other national team head coaching roles: England and Australia. (England's position has since been filled by Sarina Wiegman, formerly head coach of the Netherlands.) So, can we expect to see Ellis suiting up to coach once more?
"If the sideline beckons and it's the right opportunity, then yes, I could see myself going back," Ellis said, be it for national or club team. Right now, taking the pandemic into consideration, "I've not felt a great rush," she admitted, adding that she's finding her work growing the game off the field to be rewarding as well. "It really has been motivating to see what you can do when you get a group of people that are passionate about something, that want to effect change. Similar to coaching, right?" Ellis said. "It's incredibly rewarding to create opportunity."

Netflix's Ratched May Be a Mystery, but Its Vintage Setting Is on Full Display
While Netflix's new series Ratched is filled with secrets, its setting is one of the few things that isn't a mystery. The show - which is a prequel to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - follows Nurse Mildred Ratched as she seeks employment at a Northern California psychiatric hospital and is primarily set in 1947. This is seen in everything from the clothes the characters wear (including both the gorgeous outfits of Sharon Stone's Lenore Osgood and the nurse's uniform of Sarah Paulson's Mildred) to the references peppered throughout.
The only time the series departs from the year 1947 is during character flashbacks or a flashforward in the final episode. In the flashbacks, we're sent to the Great Depression and the end of WWII as we learn of Mildred's upbringing and her eventual dismissal from the army. Ratched then ends in Mexico in 1950, as Mildred seemingly gets her happy ending. This suggests that season two will likely be set in 1950, with potential future seasons ending before the setting of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
For Anyone Wondering, Enola Holmes Takes Place in the 19th Century - Here's the Exact Year
With all of the action surrounding Netflix's Enola Holmes, it's easy to become enwrapped in the premier mysteries as the title character (Millie Bobby Brown) sets out to investigate her mother's disappearance and help the young noble escapee Viscount Tewksbury (Louis Partridge) evade a hitman. But there's one detail you can't help but ponder while watching Enola embark on her journey: when exactly does the film take place? Judging by the clothes, the vernacular, and the very evident lack of respect for women, we know immediately that it's set sometime in the nineteenth or twentieth century. It heavily explores women's suffrage and gender equality, specifically within politics, so it might seem like it's placed in the early 1900s since that's when women received the right to vote in England.
However, Enola Holmes actually precedes that historical act and occurs in the year 1884. This is confirmed through several close-ups of the Pall Gall newspaper, which Enola uses to send her mother coded messages in hopes of reaching her. Other characters, including Sherlock (Henry Cavill), also read the paper to keep up with conversations regarding a new reform bill that intends to grant women the right to vote. And there's a more subtle nod to the time period when Enola explores one of her mother's hideouts in London and finds a pamphlet about a women's suffrage meeting. The flyer lists three women as participants: Amie Hicks, Gwyneth Vaughan, and Margaret McMillan. If you do a little digging, á la Enola, you'll find that those women were actual suffragists during that time. Still, the film has a contemporary feel to it, which only proves what we all know: women have always known how to get sh*t done.
