Late at night, when it's just you, a bottle of wine, and your overloaded wedding budget, it can be tempting to think that doing your own wedding flowers is a genius plan. But the reality is that flower arranging is no easy task. Between bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids, ceremony and reception decorations, table arrangements, and that giant box of boutonnieres, there is a lot to do.

So are DIY wedding flowers really something you should take on? We turned to San Francisco-based florist Amesia Doles of La Bodega Flora for advice. "If you can, you should hire a professional for the ceremony bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres," Amesia said, "unless you don't mind simple and possibly a little funky."
