This Ikea Play Kitchen Hack Is Everything
As if Ikea's play kitchen ($100) wasn't cute enough, blogger Jenny Collier took the child's toy to the next level with a few ingenious designer-grade hacks. Now, her daughter's play kitchen has all the style of Pottery Barn's much pricier Chelsea set ($499) at a fraction of the cost. Jenny's first hack was to cover the countertop in marble-patterned contact paper to give it a high-end look. Then, she spray painted all the hardware on-trend brass. For the backsplash, she used a foam core board and traced black lines with a sharpie to create faux subway tile. The resulting play kitchen is every child's - and parent's - dream. We just wish it came in adult size. Visit Jenny Collier's blog for the full tutorial and more images.
