This INSANE Optical Illusion Will Make You Question Everything You Ever Thought You Knew
So first of all, an "Illusion of the Year" contest exists. Let that sink in for second. Cool. Now this year, a finalist created an "ambiguous cylinder illusion" and after watching this mind-bending video, you will 100 percent be either thinking (or perhaps screaming) "WTF". The optical illusion uses a mirror to turn circles into squares and squares into circles and I promise you - you will NOT be able to figure out how the hell the whole thing works.
If you give up and simply MUST know the hows and whys of the the cylinder illusion, you're in luck. Thanks to a wise YouTube user and some 3D printing, we can (sort of/kind of) understand how it works now. Check out the original video, then follow up with the explanation video, and prepare to be as intrigued by the logistics of the illusion as much as with the illusion itself.
