Christina El Moussa's Top 10 Holiday Decorating Tips
We all know that Christina El Moussa has an enviable sense of style. Whether she's in the midst of a dramatic home makeover on the hit HGTV series Flip or Flop or striking a pose on Instagram, the Orange County, CA, native is renowned for having great taste on and off camera.
So it should come as no surprise that the mother of two is an absolute pro at transforming her home into a Winter wonderland during the holiday season. We recently caught up with El Moussa - mom to Taylor, 7, and Brayden, 2 - to get the inside scoop on scoring her glam style for ourselves this year.
- Christmas Pillows: "An easy and inexpensive way to incorporate holiday decor into your home is swapping out everyday items for holiday-themed touches like pillows you can find from HomeGoods, Target, or TJ Maxx."
- Holiday Candles: "Transform your home with eucalyptus-, mint-, or gingerbread-scented candles. It's always an instant way to give the holiday feel."
- Elf on a Shelf: "Like so many others, my children love their Elf on a Shelf dolls and can't wait to see what trouble they got into overnight. I like finding ideas on Pinterest to keep it creative and fun. Pinterest is always a lifesaver!"
- Garland on the Banister: "I love to wrap my staircase banisters with garland on the top and bottom. My staircase is one of the first things you see when you enter my home, so I love adding that 'wow' moment."
- Festive Touches: "With so many friends and family in my home over the holidays, I love to add elements in the bathrooms like festive napkins and holiday-scented soaps. They're both always a nice touch."
- Holiday Scents: "I love to boil a pot of water on my stove when I have parties with oranges, cinnamon sticks, and cloves. It smells like Christmas when you walk through the doors! You can also add other items like rosemary and cranberries."
- Pick a Theme: "Winter wonderland is my favorite theme for the holidays and has taken over my home. I love the glam look of it!"
- Holiday Signs: "Like swapping out pillows for ones with a holiday theme, so many stores have great and affordable artwork for your walls or holiday signs you can incorporate into your mantel, counter, and living room."
- World of Color: "If you're too intimidated to choose a holiday theme, pick a color scheme and incorporate that into your tree, lights, wrapping, etc. Pine green or plaids are great on-trend options."
- Preset Dining Table: "I like to leave my dining room set year round. For the holidays, I love adding elements that go with my Winter wonderland theme like crystal ornaments or tree figurines."
